Such a fun place! Their interior decoration gives you something to look at and discuss while waiting for your delicious pizza. They have a wide variety of toppings so we try something different every time we eat here. Make sure not to miss their mozzarella bread sticks and get a pint of Wyder's Pear Cider that they have on tap!

What's not to like about k-scope?!?! Awesome vibe to the whole place and delicious food! Our hands down favorite things to order are the blackened chicken Caesar salad which is a revelation!!! Also the cheesy sticks with the house and ranch dipping sauces... And there isn't a bad pizza. They also have a great beer and drink selection. Always a fan favorite whenever we bring visiting family or friends from out of town.

As good as it gets! Best pizza in the state!! Their new pizzas are creative and delicious. Their BBQ chicken "Avalance" or Mango Chicken are not to be missed. They also feature awesome beers on tap such as Boneyard's RPM. Anyone who doesn't like this place doesn't know good food.

My daughter tried the Thai chicken pizza and really loved it. Salad was pretty gross, and cheese pizza was ok. Service was good, very loud inside but most pizza places are.

Kaleidoscope has been an all time favorite for years. We love the Avalanche and The Original Smoke house chicken not on the menu anymore, but if you ask...you shall receive. It's even better than the Avalanche. Totally a soup and salad kind of girl over here and this place knows what they are doing.

We stopped here on our way home to California from a trip to the Oregon coast last Fall. I'm STILL thinking about this place. I would literally MOVE to Oregon so I could eat here every day. Yes, it's that good. The place is giant, so no waiting. Lovely outside space. I haven't ever found a pizza place where the cocktails are top notch. Well, now I have. Everything was tremendous. Good service too. Can't say enough good things.

Consistently good food. I love my pizza and theirs isn't my favorite, but it's good. We typically get their huge salads and breadsticks here!

Gluten free pizza is the best I've ever had. Great service and atmosphere! Jessica was awesome.

A dead head friendly environment with pizza that would be worthy of serving in Terrapin Station. Enjoy a slice of heaven as Jerry shreds a tasty lick from above. Topped off with a hearty selection of brews on tap and speedy service, this place scores best Medford dinner experience in my books.

In Medford overnight for work and a coworker recommended Kaleidoscope. I am glad I came. The pizza is great - using lots of local ingredients. Also all the local beer on draft is a plus. My server was attentive but not overbearing, and I love that when I asked her opinion about menu items, she gave it. It is loud, and busy - and kids are running amok everywhere...but what do you expect from a pizza house? I'll be back next time I'm in Southern Oregon.

I'm back again and again and again. .. This is my favorite place in Medford !! The Best Food and beer... And the staff is awesome! Margaret Strickler is one awesome bar tender... Was a mad house in here tonight. . But she took extra care of all at the bar! ! Another shout out to Mikala Anderson (Manager) I've had the privilege of meeting her a few times now and her customer service is the very best! ! I totally recommend Kaleidoscope to all !!

GREAT pizza! My friends and I stopped by on our way through town on a road trip--we were all stoked at the pizza quality. We ordered by-the-slice--and they were HUGE slices. Two slices was more than plenty. I went with the standard pepperoni--BBQ chicken was the daily special pizza, and I'm just not in to BBQ sauce. Two of the friends I was with got the BBQ chicken, and said it was great. It actually looked pretty good, too... but... the pepperoni was awesome. Just a hint of spice! Service was good. We sat on the back patio--and it was GREAT! It has a roof (shade!) fans (cool!) and misters (cooler!) to keep you cool in the summer heat. Top notch, I dare say.

  • Zachary P.

Delicious! We ate the pepperoni supreme pizza and it was one of the best we've ever had. On top of that, they have a great drink selections, good environment and lots of creative pizza options if you're feeling adventurous.

Pretty much the best gluten free crust I have ever had, followed closely by Martolli's in Ashland. If you order GF crust, you get to choose if you want egg in it. If you are not vegan, go for the egg every time. It makes the crust so pillowy. A few times my husband and I have had to double check with the server that our pizza is in fact, gluten free. That's how good it is. Drooling just thinking about it Always busy, for good reason. Great wine and beer selection. Good salads. Just good all the way around! When we are in Medford we always go to Kaleidoscope!!!

After an exhausting ultrasound appointment where I pretended that the new 3d technology imaging was '"OMG cute!" and not "Dear god, it's a chest burster!" my husband and I decided to go get some comfort food. Knowing full well that any pizza joint South of Eugene in Oregon is notoriously bad for some mysterious reason, we still wanted to give Kaleidoscope a chance. Glad we did! The place is large with several different seating areas and lots of neat lamps and nick knacks to look at. The hostess and waitresses were prompt and friendly. We ordered the hummus plate and a garlic artichoke dip appetizer to start with (they had a "happy hour" discount on the appetizers). I really enjoyed the dip and my hubby ate the entire hummus plate, great for his first time hummus experience! The pizza itself was good, if a little different than what we're used to. Large slices with decent portions of meat toppings (no skimping on the pepperonis here!). The cheese and tomato sauce where alright. I personally found the sauce to be a little bitter/acidy but my husband didn't taste it that way. Good to know there's a pizza place worthy of a second trip down South!

Love their pizza! Worth the cost. It's eye super crowded, and the wait can be lengthy, but also worth it.

One of my favorite restaurants in town! My husband and I like to split the side salad blackened chicken Caesar, the cheese breadsticks and the Peter griffin pizza (the meat pizza). It's a lot of food but it's hard to go without ordering it all :) yummy! This is a restaurant we take visitors to from out of town.

  • Marie B.

There's a reason Kaleidoscope is always so busy! The food there is so yummy and their staff is very bubbly and prompt. My go-to meal is usually the "Mixed Greens" salad w/o onions & feta vinaigrette dressing and the Wild Mushrooms pizza. I usually don't eat at the restaurant because it's so crowded, if you're the same then you can always call ahead and go in to pick up your food. Everything is still very tasty! *** Other menu items I would recommend: Rogue Ranch salad, Caesar w/blackened chicken salad, Hungarian Mushroom soup, Jalapeno Hummus Dip, and Prosciutto Blue pizza (hold the garlic unless you're obsessed with it because they have enormous garlic cloves all over any pizza with garlic).

Great Pizza good prices I like the atmosphere and the service. I would recommend to anyone visiting.

We've always driven past Kaleidoscope Pizzeria, and never really stopped, but this time we were searching for the right place to eat after a very long driving day. The atmosphere is fun, slightly loud, but perfect for groups and groups with kids! Everyone was very friendly, our server was very nice and she answered questions while also giving opinions and advice. We got a half "American Beauty" and half "Popeye" and both were extremely delicious! The slices are big and filling, the crust is really tasty and the right combination between chewy and crunchy. If you're driving through Medford, stop in at Kaleidoscope because they'll welcome you and feed you, and you'll have a great time!

  • Matt B.

I love this place. Their food is all great. Some of my personal favorites are the American Beauty and the blackened chicken Caesar salad. Tons of great local beer on tap. Despite the fact that this place is seriously always slammed, their staff is super friendly and there are a lot of them, so things move along. If you can, do lunch; way less busy. They don't deliver, but they do pickup and have a good website. At the time of this review they are doing a serious remodel which will increase their seating. Much needed!

Kaleidoscope brings an unmatched sense of charm and individuality to the town of Medford. Whenever I have company, I almost always bring them here. I just wish the pizza wasn't so expensive, but it's worth every penny.

  • Stephanie R.

Love this place! Unfortunately so does everyone else. There is almost always a line to wait. If you are starving I would advise going somewhere else because you most likely will have to wait. However, if you have the time I recommend giving it a try. The food is worth the wat! Service is always very good too.

  • Hilary G.

My husband loves this place, it's his favorite so if he loves it so much he can write a good review. It's ok. I'm not a big pizza fan as it is but I do know the waitresses are super unfriendly. They look miserable. I do love their Cesar salad though.

Fantastic pizza, fantastic beer, fantastic service, and who would have thought, in the middle of nowhere (sorry Medford!)? On a frequent drive down from PDX to OAK, we were planning on stopping at our usual pizza spot in Downtown Ashland. However, we got hungry much before then, and yelp brought up Kaleidoscope. The boys are also huge beer fans, and the reviews were fantastic, so we decided to pop in. We read online that the Kalua Pork Pizza and the Thai Chicken Pizza were the best. We asked our waiter if he would recommend those are he said definitely. We are SO GLAD because it was some of the best pizza we have ever had. The Kalua Pork itself was especially amazing, and we had just moved to CA from Hawaii and have had LOTS of Kalua Pork. It went above our expectations. The Thai Chicken was also super fantastic and we loved the peanut sauce on it. They were probably equally as amazing. We also got a chicken Caesar salad, which yes, is simple, but was REALLY good. The dressing and the portion size was spot on, and it's not hard to mess up a Caesar salad by providing sub-par dressing. Aside from the food, the beer menu was also fantastic. It was large, and tasty, as to be expected of Oregon. Lots of microbreweries with unique beers. We liked the place so much that we bought a beer glass and a t-shirt to remember our delicious meal. The service was also really good. Our server was helpful, friendly, and attentive, and it doesn't get much better than that! We will make a point to stop here, from now on, on every road trip that we take from CA to OR! It isn't far from the freeway, and it really is worth the stop!!!!! Wish we had a Kaleidoscope closer to us, but at least it makes the long drive more enjoyable and something to look forward to!

Always crowded but usually quick to get in. Food is great and wait staff very friendly. Outdoor space is nice and has misters. Pieces are cut pretty big but you can ask for double cut. 4 stars because it's always extremely busy

Outstanding food and great service! I highly recommend! Even my pizza connoisseur husband gave a thumbs up! Their good is off the chart good. And Kevin D. was an outstanding server who describes his food perfectly! We are from out of town, Southern California where we have lots of pizza places, and this place ranks with highest honors!

My hubby and I love going here! Their salads are amazing and we always get their Thai pizza! Also, if you have room in your tummy, try the grasshopper for dessert!

Great happy hour menu! Always amazing service and amazing food. Favorite place in town for dinner. Acoustics are very loud inside but the food is so good it doesn't bother me any. Decor is adorable. White pizza is the best!

I would say this is the best pizza in Medford. They also have two crust options for gluten free. Their salads are fresh and very flavorful. Busy restaurant but the service is good.

Great food!! Everything I've had off the menu has been exceptional!

  • Georgie K.

Service was good, atmosphere is pleasant and the cheesy bread sticks are out of this world. The bummer is the pizza was just okay. The salads are really good too. The server told us people come from far and wide to eat there which is surprising since the pizza is just okay and is on the Spendy side.

This is not normally the type of pizza I go for. I'm somewhat of a purist and like a thin wood-fired Margherita which is not what you get here, but they certainly churn out some tasty and interesting pizza topping combinations. Their side salads are also huge which the Sweet and Savory being one of the best salads I've ever had (seems like an oxymoron for me to say best and salad in a sentence, but they do it justice). Huge selection of local beers on tap. This place seems like a total crowd pleaser worth coming with a group so you can sample all the crazy pizza topping varieties.

  • Jennifer L.

Omg so tasty!!!!! I love the chicken enchilada pizza, and the mt. ashland!!!! The food has never disappointed and the service is great even though it takes 20 minutes for the amazing pizza to cook. They also have wonderful beer/cider options including some locals.

My husband and I found this place by accident back in 2005 as we were traveling through. When we are in the area, we make it a point to stop. We both love garlic so we think it is fabulous. We have never been disappointed with the food or beer.

I really wanted to like this place, I really did. I came here once on their grand opening and it was REALLY GOOD!. today was the first day i've been back since then. Let me just start by saying I know quality is costly but 33 dollars for a pizza? Now heres why i'm mad.. I paid 40 dollars today for a pizza and 2 side salads and they refused to give me any free ranch. Are you serious???? I can get free ranch from pretty much any pizza place but not from the place where the pizza cost the most? On top of all this... the pizza seemed like it was cut by an infant, i had to re cut it myself which is not a big deal, just un professional. Finally, the taste of the pizza (which was a pepperoni and veggie ) was just above average.

  • Kevin R.

Amazing wild mushroom pizza. The ranch salad was off the hook. Great environment. Bravo!

  • Michael G.

This is REALLY good pizza. Most fast style pizza taste the same. But they really know how to make it TASTY. I would compare it to Abby's pizza. But with better crust than Abby's. We came with a group and was able to get it pretty fast, not bad for 9 pizza's. The sauce is spicy, and the rolled dough edges are melt in your mouth good.

I have never had a bad meal here. They r my favorite restaurant in Medford! Everything is great! Buffalo blue salad awesome ! Mozzarella sticks bomb digity! Pizza yummy everything from Thai to chicken ranch! Don't forget that mud pie the is the size of a house!!!! This place is sooooo good! Did I mention the tasty beer and awesome service! They have a new cover outside patio. It is now open year round.

  • Morgan B.

Avalanche pizza. I'm a fan!!!! The service was great and friendly. This place will make my regular rounds. There's a patio and shade to sit outside in the summer. They have a happy hour until 5 most days. Delicious pizza. The 10" avalanche pizza and two beers was a great meal for a grown man with an appetite. Don't ask questions, just get here!!

  • Priya C.

Fantastic and creative pizza options! Really love the Garcia Bleu (essentially buffalo chicken pizza) and Mt. Ashland (ton of meat with ranch sauce!) There's really something for everyone on the menu. They have a great selection of beer as well, definitely impressed with Caldera brewing (love their amber). Service was great (awesome bartender) and I also appreciated the two tvs in the bar to catch a game!

The pizza and salads are good, and well portioned. The place is great for families with small children. The atmosphere is extremely noisy. The gnats were pretty bad, even inside the restaurant. I'd recommend this place as carry out.

To die for pizza!!!! I get the Ashland pizza with ranch dressing as the pizza sauce. it never disappoints a crowd! i get it 1/2 baked and bake it at home - hot fresh out of the oven! When dining in, there service is always super friendly, efficient and the atmosphere is fun and lively! This is one of my favs!

My wife just said, "this [was] the best pizza I ever had". Frankly she was not into pizza but she enjoyed our meal very much. 2 adults and 2 kids ordered 2 small pizzas with 2 flavors each and we were stuffed. Two thumbs up!

Amazing pizza. The Kalua pork pizza is to die for. I usually order a sweet and savory salad which is delicious. They also have great beer on tap which goes hand in hand with pizza. Best pizza around by far

Five of us celebrated Father's Day with an assortment of salads, pizza, and ice cold beer. We sat in a cool breeze outdoors after a very warm day. Our server was a delight and attentive. It is always a favorite spot of ours. Will return again and again.

We had our favorite Calzones. All three different and all three the best Calzones we ever had. The wait staff are all very nice. Very good value. Only one small complaint, it was very noisy. That's to be expected with the great family atmosphere.

Always crowded but service is great and food is even better. If you can score a table on their outside patio area in the early evening, you'll love it! Blackened Chicken Caesar Salad is a must and they have some really fresh and creative pizzas! When family comes to Medford, this pizza joint is always a must.

Delicious pizzas, salads and generous desserts! This unique and spunky Southern Oregon pizza restaurant is eye candy for the creative, and a satisfying place for the hungry. It is great for dates, company lunches and family birthdays. You will not be disappointed by the selections, and local flavors! It's a fun twist on pizza, and since it's not a chain - it is a hot spot for me! I like that tibia family owned, and I celebrate their efforts - turned to success! The employees seem to have a good handle on the menu, and a good culture to work in. The upbeat feel, and mixture of local art is icing on the cake. Speaking of sweets, do splurge here ($6.25 is average for a slice of dessert anywhere). The reason I say to so is their jaw-dropping portion sizes will satisfy three! It's a fun way to end the night, and laughable as we had the "grasshopper" and Oreo framed CHUNK of ice cream which has chocolate ice cream within. Oh so fattening, but worth the rare splurge!!

Awesome food, we ordered a couple different pizzas, salad and bread sticks. We are new to the area. It was the best, will definitely be back.

Whenever my co-workers and I travel to Medford, OR we always make it a point to stop at Kaleidoscope. The pizzas are top notch with thick and crispy crusts. Grease plus fresh ingredients also attribute to the perfect pizza. This place has a good beer selection as well. I don't drink that much, but my team seems to like the numerous choices. Well done.

Superb! Laid back atmosphere despite the line to get in. Excellent food & service! It's a must do on the way to Southern Oregon Brewing Co.

I think it's the best pizza in town, generally the service is great and everyone is friendly. Can't complain about any of the food, only downside is they can be packed at peak hours which can result in a wait, but that's not their fault. Love this place and go regularly.

  • Amanda O.

This place isn't anything special to me. Mediocre pizza, takes a long time to get a seat and your food. I refuse to eat here and only to when someone is having a birthday dinner, etc.

    (1)
  • Willliam O.

This is not your average pizza place...special unique environment for all ages. Indoor and outdoor seating is great with a choice of tables. Friendly service by a experienced staff. The food is amazing! The breadsticks and sauce are phenomenal. The pizza is likely the best in the WORLD according to our two young nieces. Try the Mt. Ashland or pepperoni pizzas!!! WOW. The Rogue Ranch salad is to die for!!! The root beer floats are the "bomb"!!!!

I'd only been here once before & didn't want the 'same' pizza experience, so I came here- Jerry Garcia would be proud. It's very spacious... space, man. Seriously, this place is HUGE & colorful, as to be expected. Surprisingly, the only space that are tame comparatively to the rest of the restaurant are the bathrooms. Up close, the lighting & artwork are all one-of-a-kind pieces & put together each tablescape rather nicely. Everyone working here, from the hostess to the waitstaff to the busboys are super friendly & very helpful. Guess who's awesome to have Wyder's Pear Cider on tap! I've only seen a couple local joints have this cider in bottles, so this was a nice surprise- if you like a lil' flair of extra interesting, for a little more, you can get it with 'razzmatazz' (a raspberry liqueur) which is quite tart, but not bad. The 'Rogue Ranch' salad, at it's simplest, is quite tasty. The dressing is fresh & housemade- & tossed lightly with the greens, so every bite has a little flavor on its own. I got a half 'n' half pizza, as described "if you just can't decide", so I could try their Thai Chicken & Alaskan pizzas in one 10" personal-pan size. The Alaskan with chorizo sausage balanced out all the tastebuds with a little sweet/sour action in the sun-dried tomatoes, a little salty in the chorizo sausage, & a little bitter in the Alaskan sauce (a mixture of spinach & ricotta cheese) all beautifully melted together. Then there was the Thai Chicken: it reminded me of eating Bahn Mi- a uniquely spicy thai sandwich- except with pizza crust instead (which, by the way, is AMAZING on its own)... & the peanut sauce was what kept everything together. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised. Last, but not least, I had their chocolate mousse cake with chocolate sauce & topped with whipped cream. This 'slice' was HUGE & could easily feed a small country lol. It was, for lack of a better explanation, instantaneous DEATH BY CHOCOLATE COMA! I couldn't even fit my mouth around each bite it was so big! And SUPER delicious. Overall, without a doubt, the BEST meal I'd had in a loooooooooong time &, with tip, came to a little over $32... which was totally worth it! I'd absolutely recommend this place to everyone I know.

  • J.G G.

For a medium pizza 20? Not worth it. The appetizer with the cheese and Tomato was a rip off with huge pieces of pepper on top.. The brownie dessert was burnt all around and they remade it and it just taste cheap. I expected way better quality. My husband and I paid more here than we did for everything we would have bought at the actual Rainforest Caffe in the Disneyland front. Honestly feel like we just paid for the decorations on the outside patio but the rest a waste of time and money. Lesson learned.

Great loud environment. Everyone seems to be having a good time. Pizza, salads, beer yum! Not many places make a good traditional pizza, Kaleidoscope seems to pull it off. There us a pizza for everyone....meat lovers, vegetarian, greek, hawaiian, and your basic xheese and pepperoni!

Had the opportunity to try this out on Friday night while traveling through Medford, based on a recommendation from a family member. We had two small pizzas, mainly because I am gluten free, and my husband isn't. The pizzas were fabulous. Best gluten free pizza crust I've ever tasted! We also had side salads which were a full plate. Our server was attentive. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was due to how packet the restaurant was. We tried to hang out in the bar area while waiting the 30 minutes for our table, but had to bob and weave to avoid people and the staff running to serve and clean. Drinks were tasty. I will definitely go back, I will just adjust my time that I go. Only thing that would have made the experience better is more space.

Funny thing happened. They dont serve Californians traveling through. We ordered two pizzas and some extras. We get there and were denied service. They want you to spend more time to get more of your money. We kept our $40 or so. And went to ausie place down street. Where they really want you as a customer DO NOT EAT AT THIS PLACE. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NON EXISTENT FOR TRAVELERS. They kept their pizzas. Salads and drinks WE KEPT OUR MONEY WE WIN

TL;DR - Good service, great gluten-free crust, amazing soup (butternut squash, ftw!) We stopped here last night, and as I finish the last bite of my cold gluten-free pizza (which is notoriously bad at most places), I have no reservations about a 5-star rating. We ordered 4 gluten-free pies (limited to 10" for GF), an entree salad with salmon, and two cups of soup. The salad was good, but the soups and the pizza were next-level. The butternut squash soup was one of the best things I've ever had. The baked potato soup was delicious, as well. We each had a different pizza, but everyone was raving. While the toppings are great, I think the real star is the crust. GF pizza crust is pretty weak at most places, so finding decent crust is exciting. Finding delicious GF crust like I had last night and this morning is awesome. Lest I forget, service was really good, too. Well-paced food delivery and friendly & helpful servers. Loved it!

Inattentive servers. Overpriced food for what you're getting. Definitely did not live up to the hype. They put a damper on our date night. But 2 stars for good beer.

Best pizza in the valley... And the best Caesar salad I have ever had! A little pricey, but it's worth it. Also be sure to try the pear ale.. It's amazing!

My husband and I have been here before with ok service and food. Never anything spectacular but overall decent experience. Tonight we came for a nice dinner date and it all started with a 30 minute wait for a table. Which was fine, no big deal. We got a booth in the bar and this place is so loud we cannot hear each other from across the table. Also not a deal breaker, it's a popular place and we came on a Saturday night so it's what we could expect. The reason this is only getting one star and never seeing our business again is the non-existent service. Our waitress was absent, did not introduce herself and generally seemed like we were an inconvenience. We placed our salad order when we sat down and our pizza a few minutes after and our waitress forgot about it until we reminded her 40 mins later. Then we got a our salad at the same time as the lukewarm and soggy "Thai" pizza. It tasted nothing! A plain cheese pizza has more flavor than that. We ended up leaving hungry. Overhyped, overpriced and extremely poor service!

So we are from Seattle and happened upon Kaleidoscope the last time we were in Medford 2 years ago... We made sure to return on this trip, and for good reason! Our server (Brittney?) was wonderful - great smile, super helpful, and waited on us hand and foot despite the crowd. We started with the bread sticks - seriously delicious, along with side buffalo chicken salad... The chicken wasn't breaded, just nicely seasoned for good flavor and bit of a kick. Then came the pizza... After mulling over a fancy one, we went with straight up pepperoni. Soooo good - spicy pepperoni, delicious crust - we each ate a full slice more than we needed. We'll be back again when visiting Medford!

Thank you to all the Yelp users for another wonderful find in Kaleidoscope Pizzeria and Pub. Although there are plenty of wonderful reviews I feel the need to confirm they are all true! This may be the best pizza I have ever had. Kaleidoscope Pizzeria and Pub has a convenient location just off of the 5 freeway. The restaurant is large and provides both indoor and outdoor seating. Colorfully decorated and impeccably clean. Staff is friendly and attentive. The menu is vast and offers soups, salad, pizza and more. There are many topping options which can make deciding on just one difficult therefore, I highly recommend going with a large group! Kaleidoscope Pizzeria and Pub has delicious crust which I could make into a meal by itself (not too thin nor thick). The toppings are all top-notch and taste of high-quality. I ordered the Aloha, Southwest Taco and Mt. Ashland. All were excellent choices although the Mt. Ashland was my personal favorite. For those less adventurous traditional pizza (build your own) is also available. I highly recommend Kaleidoscope Pizzeria and Pub for lunch or dinner and can't wait to return!

Great pizza! Great atmosphere! Friendly staff! They have a wide variety of pizza & salad options and something for everyone. There is plenty of seating; especially with the new addition. The staff is quick and very friendly. It's definitely a great family atmosphere. Favorite pizza place to eat in Medford by far!

Got the pepperoni supreme and it was delicious. The crust was perfect and the toppings were very flavorful. Atmosphere was light and our server was nice and attentive. My 5 year old daughter who is super picky even enjoyed a slice of cheese pizza and a peach smoothie. For dessert the wife and I had the very chocolate brownie and it was perfect. Usually I don't like brownies but this one was warm and soft just how I like it. I would recommend it to anyone who is on the fence about this place. I will be returning when I get the chance as we were just passing through on our way home to Crescent City.

This one is Tough... for service I would give them a three... for pizza a pretty solid 4. I was happy with all the pizza's we got. Except one was supposed to have a side of sriracha, and it didn't come with it. And our waiter never came back around so we never had a chance to get any. My only other thing was the waitress like waited around for our order, we would tell her we weren't ready and she would stand there and wait. **awkward** Then we ordered appetizers and they came out... oh about 30 seconds before the food... oh and some at the same time as the pizza.... oh and whats this, oh an appetizer that came out a few minutes after the food?! I don't know about you but I order an appetizer to have before the food.... With that said, it was tasty and I will go back. Also Zagat rated this number 1 for Oregon, specifically the Thai Pizza which I want to try.... Oregon: Thai Chicken Pizza at Kaleidoscope Pizza in Oregon Kaleidoscope Pizza has made a name for itself with zany pizzas like the Thai chicken, which has continually been offered as a special since the spot opened in 2004. The thin-crust pie is covered in a mixture of mozzarella and provolone cheeses, then finished off with thinly sliced chicken breast, shredded red onions, bean sprouts, shredded carrots and - instead of marinara sauce - spicy housemade peanut sauce. It's got a little kick to cut through the richness of the cheese.

I've been here a couple times, and I don't know why I haven't written a review yet! This is, hands-down, the best pizza place in the entire Rogue Valley. The last time I was there, I tried the pizza with pear, Gorgonzola, and candied walnuts. Doesn't sound too appetizing, but it was absolutely the best pizza I've ever eaten; the perfect mix of sweet and savory. The prices are extremely reasonable, the waitstaff is super friendly, the selection is fantastic (especially for fellow vegetarians) and it's clean and kid-friendly. If you're looking for a casual place to relax, grab a beer, and eat some of the best pizza ever, definitely head to Kaleidoscope!

THEE best pizza/salad hotspot EVER. We will make a special trip just for the buffalo chicken salad, and it is perfect every time. In our opinion, there should be a chain of Kaleidoscope's- we are chomping at the bit here! The atmosphere is vibrant and friendly, but bring a sweater if it's summer and they have the AC rolling, it gets chilly in there. Overall, two thumbs up. Great service, prompt timing, and consistently delicious food.

When I visit my folks in Oregon I rarely dine out but on this trip I thought it was time to be a little more adventureous. While browsing Yelp for a place to eat, I was pleasantly surprised to see how many positive praises there were for Kaleidoscope. I was sold and made my way out to get some pizza. When I arrived the atmosphere was fun and lively with lots of people. I opted to order take out than brave the wait. I couldn't decide so I took advantage of the half and half option. For my selection, I chose half Chipotle Steak and half Alaskan with Italian Sausage. Also decided to order some Mozzarella Bread Sticks w/ house sauce (tomato sauce + pesto+ gorgonzola). I liked that the lady checked my order before she gave it to me otherwise she wouldn't have caught a mistake made with the breadsticks. They gave me a plain order versus an order of mozzarella breadsticks. Luckily, it was just a mix up and my order came out within a few minutes. Highlights Crust was cooked well, had a good chewy bite and great buttery notes Chipotle sauce had a good smokiness and decent heat but not as spicy as I had expected Alaska sauce reminded me of a simple bechemel, well seasoned and held the dish together Toppings were fare and fresh Flavors were overall pleasant and satisfied my tastebuds As for the breadsticks, it oozed gooey cheesy perfection and well seasoned Overall Thoughts Who would have thought I would find a gem in Medford, Oregon.

I absolutely adore Kaleidoscope. As a vegetarian, I am super pleased with their selection. I have sampled every vegetarian pizza they have and could honestly not pick a favorite, although I do tend to go with a White Mushroom or Popeye pretty frequently. The food is always phenomenal. No problem there. I also love that they offer whole wheat options. One tip though, only order enough pizza to eat then. Their thin crust tends to be super soggy the next day. The only reason I can't give it 5 stars is that their service is hit and miss. It's always busy their so I understand that but it's frustrating to have poor service occasionally. There have been a few times where the serves has forgotten about us, or the kitchen makes a mistake and we have to wait a long time. We have a little one and anyone with kiddos knows it can be challenging to take them out to eat. It's always noisy in there so it's family friendly and no one is going to give you disapproving glances if you're little one gets noisy but it's hard to have a toddler sit for over an hour to wait for food (which has happened more than once to us). I understand mistakes happen but maybe something could be done so it doesn't happen so frequently and when it does, is it too much to ask for an apology?

Good times, great food, great beer, and excellent family time!!! Visited August 1, 2014 As is typical, this is a favorite haunt for may people so expect it to be busy! We were lucky enough to get there just as the crowds were beginning just before 6pm so we acquired a table pretty quickly - dinner with the family of 5. The food and atmosphere is always great with the servers always friendly. Started with Mozzarella Bread Sticks, Chips and Salsa, Apple Juice for the young-un and beer on tap that had Tangerine - AMAZING! Pizza was our favorite the Chicken Picante - ALWAYS great This time we also ordered a small all-cheese pizza and it was great as well Visited August 1, 2014 As is typical this is a favorite haunt for may people so expect it to be busy! When you think of visiting Medford, unfortunately, great food normally isn't in the cards. The experience at Kaleidoscope, fortunately, bucks that trend. This is a rare gem in Southern Oregon; a place with exceptional food, a great atmosphere, quality service and good beer. They don't cut corner here, period. It starts with the salads. We ordered two: the blackened chicken ceasar and Rogue Ranch. On both, the lettuce was cool, crisp and fresh, the dressing was drizzled on, rather than soaked in and there was enough chicken on each for a meal (we ordered the side version). Even the small salads could be a meal. As for the pizza, try not to come expecting some awesome Chicago deep dish or true NY pizza. This isn't that. However, for what it is - creative, interesting, different, flavorful - it's great. We ordered the Jerry's Italian Sausage and added pepperoni and enjoyed every bite. The topping were full of flavor and the crust was fluffy, yet crispy. The beer selection is enough to keep a person here late into the night. Well stocked with local brews.

Visiting from out of state. Stumbled on this amazing smell wafting through the parking lot. Walked in to be greeted by a very friendly staff who said we would be waiting 35 minutes. It didn't turn out taking that long but I would have waited an hour. What an amazing experience. Cherry, our waitress was efficient, animated, engaging, and fun. The food was so flavorful, I was sad we didn't live here.

We were traveling to Seattle and a friend told us about this place. We were not disappointed. We were greeted by a nice young man and sat within five minutes. Our waitress was very attentive and made sure our glasses were full. This is always a challenge with our family. We tend to drink a lot. The menu is large with so many pizza options. It was hard to pick! My husband ordered a calzone, which was good but unique in flavor. I ordered the Thai pizza. It was good but not spicy like advertised on the menu. My kids got a cheese pizza and a cheese pizza with kailua pork. They enjoyed every bite. The crust was very light and had a great flavor. For dessert we had the grasshopper pie. It is HUGE but just okay. It is a ton of ice cream. If I lived by this place I would definitely be back to try a few more items on the menu.

I went on a busy Saturday and my table was seated within 10 minutes of arrival. The atmosphere is really good and the wait staff was amazing. Our beers were never empty and they had a large and satisfying northwest selection on tap. The food is good, not amazing, but good. The presentation of the food is done well, I loved seeing whole garlic cloves on my pizza. While I wouldn't eat here every weekend I would make this a regular stop whenever I visit Medford.

After hearing about all the raves about this place, we had to check out for ourselves how this pizza place stacks up. Disclaimer: I am not comparing this pizza with what you can get in New York, or deep-dish in Chicago. Yes - those pizzas are amazing, and set the gold standard, but if you're here in Southern Oregon looking for that, then try a different genre altogether. Like, fish or dungeness crab, for heaven's sake. Anyway... We were very happy to give Kaleidoscope a spin, and I do think it holds up to the hype compared to other pizza places in Southern Oregon. We've found good places in Ashland with Great American Pizza, Creekside, and Martoli's, and we'd put Kaleidoscope at or above these three. Good topping selections, good crust, good beer options and good service came together for us with our experience. It was also really nice to be able to get a single large slice for our little guy. They normally offer only cheese or pepperoni, but our server said she could get them to add pineapple (our kid's favorite), and they did. How nice! It's surely the only Grateful Dead themed pizza restaurant I've ever been to. No idea what the relationship is, but there ya go. At the entrance/exit I noticed an old poster of Stevie Nicks and Lindsay Buckingham performing at Palo Alto High school, and thought that interesting (since we live there). That has nothing to do with my Yelp review, I suppose, but you read it anyway. The location on Crater Lake highway wasn't the most attractive or easy to get in/out of, but so what. We really liked Kaleidscope, and the service was welcoming and friendly, so we'll be back for sure.

The slice of the day is always a good choice. But you can also get pepperoni or cheese by the slice. Love the wood booths and wood roof. It's a fun place to grab a bit to eat. It's good for individuals and groups with so much space. Love all the cool lamp fixtures.

This is my second experience with to-go orders at Kaleidoscope Pizzeria & Pub. And this review is intended to describe (and celebrate!) a glimpse into the choreographed chaos that is the hallmark of every successful eatery on a Friday night. First thing first, the pizza is killer. We were told by a friend that this is the place to find the best pizza in the Rogue Valley. So far we think they're right. We came back again tonight to pick up a pizza. There was a small wrinkle when the order was inputted into the computer, so the pizza they were baking for us was not what we ordered. There was INSTANTLY a solution. There was a small team of people who IMMEDIATELY started problem-solving and making sure we were satisfied with the outcome. The place was packed with a massive number of orders going through the kitchen. They handled the issue and got us out the door in less than 25 minutes. We will be coming back. Again and again. Thanks guys!

This is a restaurant I would love to have in my town. Wonderful pizza with great crust...and they serve vegan. The soups are fantastic. Very good selection of local brews. Very nice place with a terrific outdoor patio. For a casual place, it's perfect.

WOW! One of the best PIZZA's ever! The food here is so impressive and they serve large potions. I would hike 100 miles over broken glass to eat at this place again. The atmosphere is great and the service was awesome. The place seems to be a hippie Grateful Dead pot head type place, but aside from that, the food is superb!

Fantastic!!! Service was great - I took all the servers suggestions and was in heaven. Unbelievably good food! I had the Hungarian mushroom soup and a veggie calzone (changed provolone for the Cheddar though) I will stop back in before heading home tomorrow.

Visiting from NYC, I was a bit apprehensive at first thinking it would be along the lines of an olive garden. Well I was totally wrong! The ambience was laid back local with excellent service and an awesome menu. Variety of local wines that complimented the pizzas. I am very picky when it comes to my Wine and Pizza especially since I am from NY, but this place had the perfect combo. Usually I'm a one two slice kinda gal and I devoured a ten inch pie, lol. Looking forward to coming back to this gem.

  • Dani C.

This place was busy. The pizza is overhyped. It was a stop along the road for us and after just having really amazing Pizza in Portland, it was disappointing. It's good folks but it's not 5 star great. California Pizza Kitchen is better and I'd only give that a 3. Maybe I'm a Pizza snob, but when you've had Italian pizza in Italy, East Coast Pizza at Luigi's in California and Chicago pizza in Chicago, well what else is there to say. If you ever make it to San Diego, go to Buono Forchetta and get schooled by an Italian family.

  • Diane B.

Our server Riley is a 5 star but my husband says theres always room for improvement...add crushed peanut to the Thai peanut chicken pizza and not as heavy on the sprouts otherwise Kalidescope is wonderful, eclectic and yummy...will go again. Good value for your buck and if you go to the one in Medford ask for Riley.

  • Allison K.

Pretty good pizza! I'd say the biggest drawback was, after waiting 20 minutes for food, our appetizers came out seconds before the pizza did. Really?? I didn't order it because I didn't get enough food. I ordered it because I was hungry and wanted food while I waited. Some appetizers came out after the food. Which is even worse. The salads came out beforehand like they should at least, but we didn't order those, our friends did. Oh. And they forgot our sriracha on the side. They were too busy to pull someone aside to get some :( Word to the wise: if you're hungry and ordering appetizers, make sure to ask for it to come out before the food- let me rephrase that- "more than 5 seconds before the food"

You just know when you get food at this place it's gonna be pretty ok. I got some lemonade and a calzone which is coming soon but this place has a lot of nickleback memorabilia which is the best band of all time anyways time for some vegetables

When I lived in Ashland, I would drive to Medford just for their pizza. Hands down, the best pizza in Southern Oregon! Their staff is superb, pizza consistently good, and desserts..enough to fill you up for the week! Their kalua pizza keeps me coming back for more; there is nothing ordinary about this Hawaiian style pizza.

Have to say probably the best pizzeria I have ever been to. There are SOOO many choices for pizza that is can sometimes be difficult to decide on just one. My absolute favorite is the pesto tortilla with pepperoni. This is amazing! The house-made bleu cheese dressing is the best I have ever eaten. It can be a little loud at times but it's a pizza place not a fine dining restaurant. I will go back time and time again when I am visiting the area.

There's a reason Kaleidoscope has been voted the Best of Medford for pizza several years in a row-- because it is. First of all, the pizza is delicious! Kaleidoscope has many topping options, so it's easy for customers to customize their artisan-style pizza. Most pizza joints have a terrible selection of veggies and "specialty" toppings, but Kaleidoscope has ample options and the quality of the ingredients never disappoint. Kaleidoscope's prices are also reasonable (it actually costs me about the same to get a similar pizza from Dominos). Additionally, Kaleidoscope has great customer service. On the rare occasion my order was prepared incorrectly or delayed, the owner (he's often there, working alongside his staff) went to great lengths to make up for the mistake. I have never had an bad experience at Kaleidoscope and gladly leave an ample tip; every time.

I've always heard that this place was good. But WOW. The spinach dip was so delicious. The drinks were so delicious (orange creamsicle and some kinda marionberry lemonade). The pizza was beyond delicious (half white pizza, half chipotle steak). My sister and I visited Kaleidoscope after lots of research and recommendations. This is the kind of food that makes you do a little dance while you chew. It's that good. We went on a Monday night and the place was packed. The hostess was attentive. She told us it would be about a fifteen minute wait and handed us a buzzer. It probably went off around five minutes later, and we were seated comfortably at a table. Our waitress was Katharine, and she was such a sweetie! Very prompt and polite! She obviously earned 20%+. I definitely recommend this pizzeria! Actually, I already have recommended it to a lot of friends and family. There's no doubt in my mind that I would frequent this place if I were a local.

The best pizza and salads in Southern Oregon. Their crusts are all homemade and hand tossed you won't find a better pizza place anywhere in Medford. They are usually super busy so get there early especially on Friday nights. They also offer carry out which is great if it's too busy to eat in.

Absolutely wonderful pizza! Me and my dad have been on a pizza kick lately and so we've going around to different pizza places in Medford just ordering a regular, pepperoni pizza. So far, Kaleidoscope, Jackson Creek Pizza, Paisan's, and Round Table have been the best ones. For Kaleidoscope, the pizza was great. The sauce was pretty light, the cheese was good, the pepperoni had a very mild bite (I like a little bit more of a bite for mine,) but the best part was the crust. I don't know what they do to it but it has a pretty faint taste of garlic throughout the entire thing. I'm not sure if they brush it with garlic o/o or butter but whatever it is, it tastes wonderful. Even my dad was fond of that and he's not a garlic fan. For those people who tend to order salads, the ones here look pretty large. Next time I come here I will definitely be ordering one. I also ordered the house IPA which was pretty good, nothing to really write home about but it was a good, no nonsense IPA. The atmosphere is pretty cool as well, I love the design of it all. I think the only real downside is the price =P Their pizzas are pretty expensive but seeing as how other places around here don't charge that far off from them for sub-par pizzas -- ahem, Angelo's and Abby's -- I would definitely come back here. Only, not as often as I'd like.

Little on the spendy side but.... Good food good service music and setting...( Let's face it ) our west coast version of "pizza" is a thick mess of toppings and dough. At least this joint slaps together fresh ingredients. NOT 5 star eating experience..... People give up the 5 stars way to easy on yelp.

This is the best pizza place that I have been to in Oregon, hands down. Everything I put in my mouth was absolutely delicious. The house marinara sauce is addicting. If you like hawaiian pizza, try the pulled pork pizza that comes with pineapple, sesame seeds and green onions - it's to DIE for. Get a little bit of sriracha sauce for dipping and you will be a very happy chap.

Friendly and welcoming staff and an excellent selection of beers go a long way to winning my heart for Pizza restaurants. I tried one of their featured pies. Don't recall the name, but it included pepperoni, chicken and artichoke hearts. It was well prepared. But, like all the pizzas I saw, it included provolone cheese. To my mind, provolone does not belong on a pizza. Could I have asked them to hold it? Perhaps, but my rule is not to tamper with featured menu items on my first visit. Overall a good experience, with efficient and friendly staff. But hold the provolone!

Arrived about 3:30 pm, Wed. 12/31/14. Place was packed. First thing that hits you is the delicious aroma. Next is the high decibel level: Radio on the speakers cranked to IMO extremely loud, people yelling over the music + ear shattering, screaming children. Not what I call good for the digestion. Our waitress took our order. We'd heard so many good things about the Hungarian mushroom soup, so we ordered a bowl to share as an appetizer. When the waitress eventually whizzed by & we could catch her attention (think she had too many stations to handle) we asked: "Where's our soup?" She said: "You'd wanted it to come all at once. " Now my partner is extremely patient but he did say: "No, we didn't." It arrived & we probably would have appreciated it more were it hot rather than lukewarm. His Caesar salad looked delicious & he confirmed it was. I'd ordered the: spinach, chicken, mushroom, garlic small pizza. Absolutely, disappointingly tasteless. This "fantastic" crust in the reviews wasn't what mine was which was thin & limp. The only way I'll return is to get a soup takeout.

I have never had bad food here but I have been faced with some extreme waits to get in. It is one of the most popular family restaurants in Medford. It was truly a relief to just walk in and be seated immediately this time. I have eaten here so many times, I feel like I have the menu memorized. But this time I found a pizza I had not tried before, with portobello and goat cheese and sundried tomato, with a spinach pesto based sauce ( called Alaska sauce.). It was truly perfect. Everyone else enjoyed their choices too. The salads here are fresh, interesting and huge. We all shared and enjoyed but did not finish a ridiculously large and sinful mud pie. Good, friendly service. It's a great place to take kids.

They have very decent pizzas and the dough/crust is respectable. Definetely good beer on tap selection where i'll stop by after work just to grab a frosty one. Their prices seem a little high on the pizzas, but it's one of the best places in town for what you get for quality.

I've been out of the country for 4 years and craving some American style pizza. I had some cardboard crust pizza at an "authentic" Italian place, then some overly rubber cheese pizza a a small pizzeria in the mountains. Then tonight I ate the best pizza I've had in the past 4 years, perhaps in my life. Delicious.

This is my favorite pizza EVER! I moved away from Medford a few years back (and so did my parents) so I really have no reason to visit, but if I ever do, I know a trip to Kaleidoscope will be #1 on my list. It is the only restaurant I really miss in Medford....and boy do I miss it! :(

I was staying in Medford on business and used Yelp to find this place. Thanks yelpers! Parking lot is a little confusing and there are several businesses nearly. I saw several people waiting outside and in the hostess area. I opted to sit at the bar. They serve beer, wine and liquor here. They have approximately 15 craft beers available on draft-16 and 25 oz. sizes. I got the Deschutes Chasing Freshies IPA. Really good! For food, I ordered the small size blackened chicken Caesar salad ($7). Very tasty dressing and lots of tender white chicken and sun dried tomatoes. I also had a small sized Pepperoni supreme ($10). It was a little disappointing. The crust is nice here-hand tossed. Crispy on the bottom and a little chewy. The menu said the pie came with pepperoni, mushrooms and roma tomatoes. What came on the pizza was slicer type tomatoes which made it a little soggy. They definitely weren't romas. The atmosphere is halfway between Chucky Cheese and a regular pizzeria. Bright lights and noisy. LOTS of families here. Looks like a very popular place for local people with kids to come. I was fine with it but if you are looking for a quiet place, I would order my pizza to go. And skip the tomatoes!

Definitely fits "best pizza ever" description! Great taste combinations, super light, crunchy crust! Special flavor for pizza at a place with unique atmosphere and quality service!

Absolutely my favorite pizza place in town! Locally owned, friendly staff & incredible food. They offer the best Gluten Free pizza crust called MyBread which is almost too good to be true. You can also order MyBread Cheese Bread Sticks. They make their own Homemade soups, salad dressings & sauces. The staff is always friendly & smiling which creates a very welcoming environment. I recommend this place to everyone.

Went to eat at around 2 pm on a Tuesday. We were seated quickly, then waited 10 minutes as employees walked by us atleast 12 times. No drink order, not even a "it will be a moment". 3 different employees standing at the bar talking to each other. The place smelled good, but I'm not going to beg for service! We left.

This is a must stop establishment whenever you are in the area. I tend to judge places critically when it comes to the standards in service, quality, beer variety, audience, organization, but this place blew my mind from the start. The hostess asked if it was our first time and the rest was handled amazingly special. Our waiter was incredibly polite, sat down with us and broke down the menu for us based on our tastes and pleasures. It was wayyy easy to feel comfortable, and he made our dinner experience memorable. The pizza was freshly prepared and tasted like heaven.

Great Pizza and Salads! The ranch tasted a little like Onions & onions aren't my dig. Great beer. Sit outside when you can, cool vibe.

This place was amazing! We had a little bit of a wait (but hey, it's the holidays, Monday night, so what.). The ambience is awesome, and being that we are from northern CA, we really dug the Grateful Dead theme throughout the place. All the staff there were über friendly, and our waitress made sure to bring crayons for our kids. She provided excellent recommendations from the extensive beer list, and even let us try some samples. We ordered the caprese salad which was phenomenal and was just the right amount for an appetizer, and we ordered a half and half pizza of Kalua pork and the Mt. Ashland which had ranch sauce on it, tons of meat, and Tillamook cheese. Dare I say....yum! Even our 5 year-old loved the Kalua pork. Totally reminded me of a trip we took to Hawaii several years back. It also came with Sriracha sauce too. We wound up getting the Worthy IPA, and it did not disappoint. We will most definitely come to this place again. I don't see how you can go wrong in this place. Stop debating and go get your grub on!

Awesome pizza. This is the first time frequenting here. The blackened chicken salad was great, the sweet and savory salad was awesome! 5 cheese pizza was good, the Alaskan was great. Kaleidoscope pizza you did not disappoint.

Usually love this place but came for a family dinner at 7pm the other night and had to watch a what looked to be 18 year old girl take a blow job shot from between her boyfriends legs with families and small children sitting around. Isn't this a family restaurant? It was embarrassing and to be honest I thought my mom was going to have a heart attack. No staff intervened and some were even watching on and laughing. I won't be back with family

It's really good pizza. It's really expensive pizza too. The salads are great and their beer selection is good too. The locals have definitely claimed this as a place that will stay. All the servers do a pretty good job and the menu has got traditional and daring options. All in all, this place is pretty great.

Well I'm not a fan of their Pizza but their salads are awesome. Their mud pie dessert is also great too which is enough for me to up my previous review to 4 stars. The biggest problem with this place is it's always packed. About most the time when I do come here I end up going somewhere else because the line is out the door. When I actually do get to eat here the food is great.

5 star pizza!! Great selection of beer and pizza, with many quality specialty pizzas to choose from. We selected this place based on previous reviews and the price. The Roasted Garlic pizza was amazing, our kids loved the American Beauty. You will not be disappointed if you want a unique pizza and beer experience.

Simply the best pizza around. Whenever we have friends in from out of town it's fun to watch their eyes light up when they first see and taste the pizza. Buffalo Blue Chicken salad is outstanding! One complaint? The flies....gross, can they just get that under control? This was a problem last summer as well. Staff seems well aware and that they hear the complaint regularly. Hoping the power of Yelp will get this one issue stomped out for good.

Let me say, I did not eat pizza. I couldn't do it. I'd been eating for two days ( at a conference with coworkers) , and I was fooded out. I needed veggies. So, they ate pizza, it looked and smelled great. They loved it. They also ate cheesey bread. I had a bite. I highly recommend it. I ate a sweet and savory salad. I got the side size, which was perfect. It had leafy greens, gorgonzola, onions, mandarin oranges, some nuts, chicken, and red onions. A smidge of avocado on top and a poppyseed dressing. It was delicious. I had iced tea. I got refills when I didn't even notice. Perfect.A delightful lunch. The place is redolent with fun art and Grateful Dead stuff. My coworker R was in Jerry Garcia Heaven. She loves the GD so much she named a puppy Jerry Garcia. Anyway. I bought my princess a tye dye shirt. It is awesome. She loves it. This was a busy, happy place. I'd totally go back. Maybe if I'm not so full I'd eat pizza. There was one with butternut squash, caramelized onions, and goat cheese that looked amazing. Parking at noon was tight.Plan accordingly.

Awesome Grateful Dead themed pizzeria. By far the best pizza in Southern Oregon- you must try it! They also have Happy Hour deals on apps and drinks, so definitely check that out because this place is pricey. Came here about a week ago for midweek late lunch with a couple family members. Loved the outdoor seating with metal sculptures, high ceilings inside, and the overall look of this place. Service was fast and courteous. Our party ordered the mini sticks ($3 happy hour deal, more than half off their cheese bread sticks, total deal), cheese pizza single slice ($3, they also have a slice of the day that changes for each day of the week), the house salad ($3-4), and a small barbecue chicken pizza minus onions plus fresh jalapenos ($10-13). Also tried the strawberry lemonade ($3), which was loaded with real strawberries... soooo good! Salad with vinaigrette was great, sticks with the mixed pesto something or other sauce were awesome, and pizza was loaded with fresh veggies, shredded chicken, and cheesy yumminess! Definitely will be visiting this spot again. My only caution is to bring a fat wallet, cause a late lunch for me alone was about $20 with tip.

Well we arrived 45 minutes before closing but were seated right away and our waiter Kevin couldn't have been greater! The pizza was awesome and the over all atmosphere was fantastic, only slight complaint would be the jerk that was suppose to be our waiter but could be bothered. Sad but we won't last long!

Outstanding pizza and outstanding service from Malcolm (my son had a nut allergy and he really went beyond what servers normally do to ensure food didn't have nuts). Loud but fun - don't come here if you're looking for a quiet place to catch up. We were from San Francisco to Portland and were so happy we found this place in Medford!

It seems like the $30 pizzas aren't enough for this restaurant. Price gouging is everywhere! You want a side of marinara? That'll be $1.50. ?!?! Same goes for ranch--with varying prices depending on how you're getting it. But the marinara--this is a pizza place. How can you justify charging extra for something like that? And this is my favorite: Strawberry lemonade $2.25, no refills. Regular lemonade $2.25, unlimited refills. That dollop of strawberry sauce is what makes it nonrefillable? Nonsense. But of course I will still patronize the establishment. I love the food too much to boycott because of price-gouging.

As stated on the back of the menu -- "Voted "best pizza" in the rogue valley by the readers of the mail tribune, every year since they've been open (2004)." Lately I've been on a pizza kick. Well, since visiting Moose's Tooth in Anchorage -- so now I wanna try all these great pizza places, right? And in Medford this was one of the highest reviewed places on Yelp, so I definitely wanted to check it out. Yes, the pizza was pretty good. I did the half & half thing - - half avalanche and half chicken cordon blue. I really, really liked the crust here. The avalanche was good, but I wasn't so wild about the chicken cordon blue side. (Seemed odd to me to have sliced red peppers, and I didn't care for the broccoli on top.) I dined here on a Sunday afternoon, around 3pm - - thinking it wouldn't be so busy. Wrong! It was family pizza party day apparently, and there were a TON of really loud groups here. (That part was kinda annoying...but oh well, I mean if I was having my birthday party I'd probably want to go here too.) It was just kinda loud. Service was fine. Nothing spectacular. The staff all wore tie-die shirts, which was kinda cute. 3.5 stars rounded up to 4. I would eat here again, if I ever had to visit Medford again.

They have awesome gluten free pizzas and non gluten free pizzas. Everyone there are more then helpful. They do not rush you, stand over you while you are looking at the menu. They take there time to answer your questions and give you some good suggestions. They are very friendly and always have a smile on there face. The restaurant is very clean. Five stars all the way...

I am not going to lie, I am a pizza snob! I love the pizza here!!! The spinach salad is lovely and the mint chocolate ice cream dessert is enough for six people (no joke). We ordered the Mt. Ashland with red sauce (usually comes with white) and they accidentally made it with white and to our surprise we loved it. We felt kind of bad taking the FREE medium one with red sauce because the original was fantastic. I have never had a bad experience here and I always try and pursued our family to drive into Medford for it. The atmosphere is fun, but not too loud. We love playing eye spy because it's so colorful in there that it keeps the kiddo guessing for ever.. Great people, large portions of fantastic food, and full of color!!!

I was visiting my sister last week, so she decided to bring me here. I had heard great things about this place for years, so I was excited to finally get to try it for myself. I LOVED the Caprese Salad, Cheesy Bread Sticks, but thought the Spinach Artichoke Dip had way too much mozzarella cheese, which made it kind of hard to eat since it was all one big lump. I'm used to having this with Ricotta cheese which is much more smooth and creamy.

This place is one of the best pizza joints I've been to. There are 20 beers on tap and a full bar. They also have quite the wine selection. Their pizza has an amazing crust and the choices cover four pages.

While passing through, my husband and I decided to grab something simple since we've been disappointed with every restaurant in Oregon we've been to. We did a search and this place came up as best restaurant in Medford. We called it in since we just wanted to hangout in the hotel. Once we got there, there were tons of people there getting orders to go. The two associates were assisting someone when I walked up, so I waited. Once they were done, I figured someone would greet me or something. There was nothing until one of the ladies saw my face. She said she would be with me soon. Another associate then asked if I had been helped and I told her no. She offered to help and was great. She asked how my day was going, and I told her I was traveling, so I was getting some dinner and going back to my hotel. She then offered plates, napkins and forks to help out. She noticed that my pizza was made smaller than normal, so she offered to have the chefs make another small pizza free of charge. I had to wait another 10 minutes for the small pizza, and I was out the door. I ordered the six cheese pizza and added pepperoni and sausage to it. It was decent and I was glad I didn't go to another expensive restaurant to be disappointed.

Lisa was our wait staff. Absolutely excellent service all the way through. The salads are very good - a great way to start the meal. Also, must try the Mini Mozzas! I tried the Mt. Ashland pizza, reluctantly. Very pleasant surprise! Never disappointing! Don't choke on the bill - the meal and service were worth it.

I spent a whole day in Medford, and not one person could tell me one good thing about living here, though to me it seemed like a charming city. I had to pump the denizens of this fair burg to elicit even the slightest shred of civic pride! But they all agreed on one thing: Kaleidoscope Pizza is the place to eat. They were right (about the pizza place; they're wrong about their city, for which they should have more regard). The place is Grateful Dead themed, which does not mean that the clientele are all wasted, as they would be at a Dead concert. I looked around and saw business groups, families with young children, and retired couples. It did occur to me that they all might be totally stoned, but I discounted that notion. This is a family establishment, people. I was with a professional group; we were not blazed, just mildly jolly from the excellent selection of beers on tap. But given that this is a Dead-themed restaurant (there's even a sculpture of the Dead in the garden!), the discerning diner will want to try it both ways, on different evenings: cold-straight one night, pie-eyed the next night. Just take a cab home. You don't need to be a jam rock fan to enjoy the pizzas, which are substantial and delicious. The appetizers were also good, and very welcome, given the chill in the air. And any place that serves porter on tap (any kind of porter, though this one was very good) has my vote. Come to Medford, eat at Kaleidoscope. If I lived in Medford, I would eat here all the time; and I WOULD live in Medford.

  • Lexie V.

Kaleidoscope is definitely the best pizza in Medford, but that is not saying much. I'm from Chicago, so I know pizza (shh, you New Yorkers!). The best pizza in Southern Oregon, hands down, is Creekside in Ashland not Kaleidoscope. I work in Medford so our office lunches are usually at Kaleidoscope; I've tried a variety of their pizzas and salads and always walk away feeling a greasy-queasy fullness, but not like i enjoyed anything mind-blowing. The crust is not great. It just isn't. The restaurant ambiance is generically fine, the salads are decent but they are the "fattening" kind, definitely not the healthy kind ;) This place is overall pretty average. I go there often when forced, but when it's my choice, I choose Creekside.

Garbage. You can get better pizza at pizza hut. They charge $3 extra for cheese on the margerita pizza. I don't get the hype.

  • Brent D.

Hands down, the best pizza in Southern Oregon, and certainly in the top 5 in the state (and I travel A LOT and eat a lot of pizza). Highly recommended. Bonus: they'll flash-bake (partially bake) a pizza for you to take home and cook, or sell you the dough and sauce so you can make one at home!

  • Chris K.

I'll make this quick. If your not sure about how hungry you are. Maybe you're discussing a small one. Definitely get small. The medium pizza is huge! 2 people won't be able to finish. And make sure you get the cheesey bread! With the house sauce. Amazballs!!! Make sure you plan on a wait during dinner time...this place is packed! Full bar.

Bottom line up front, five star pizza, deserts, beer, and service. We ordered mozzarella sticks and four pizzas. We go a Thai Chicken, Table Rock, Super Tuscan, and The Alaskan. We also tried the Kaleidoscope Amber Ale and the Kaleidoscope IPA, both of which were amazing. Our pizzas were delicious and truly works of art. The only issue at all was our mozzarella sticks got lost somehow but this only proved a great opportunity to show their fantastic customer service. Our terrific server Mckayla apologized for the mix up and vowed to make up for it. She said she could bring out a order ASAP and not charge us a thing for them but since we already had our pizzas she offered to give us a free dessert. We decided to get three desserts to go and when we got our bill we noticed that we weren't charged for any of the desserts. We got the Grasshopper Pie, Mud Pie, and the Cheesecake. All were yet again amazing. I would go well out of my way to return to this place.

Grateful Dead meets Pizza place. First time in Medford and as usual checked out Yelp to determine where to go for lunch. So glad I stopped in this place. I arrived at noon and was immediately taken to a table where I was greeted by a friendly server. I didnt even open the menu but instead asked the server for a recommendation. She nailed it. Went with the Roasted Garlic ( less the feta cheese). I ordered a small pie but in reality a small pizza could feed 2 people with 2 slices each. The decor was tye dye Grateful dead theme. They had a seating area outside which looked nice but I elected to eat inside since it was cool out. I noticed a few plain clothes cops at this place. Any place that the local cops eat at is a good sign. For my small pizza the total was $10.50 plus tip. The service was excellent and the employees were buzzing back and forth. When I think of Oregon, Pizza doesnt usually come to mind, but take it from a NY pizza lover, this place is the bomb. They also seemed to have a collection of beer and wine.

Kaleidoscope is a lot like the hot girl who is quite aware that she's hot. You know the type -- so busy fighting off her suitors she couldn't be bothered to pee on you if you were on fire, but you still lust mightily after her. And so does everyone else. Anyway, Kaleidoscope's a very popular place here, and the vibe you feel is that they are quite aware of it and act accordingly. That said, I generally try to avoid eating in the restaurant (taking it to-go instead) for all the reasons others here have mentioned. But even takeout can take an eternity -- quite common to be quoted 1/2 an hour cook time even for takeout! As for the pizza itself -- sure, it's good. Far and away better than just about all the places in Medford. Then again, when you're going up against the likes of Papa John's, Abby's, and Pizza Hut, it's not exactly difficult to succeed. But is it worth it? Well dudes, it's pretty expensive. We usually go with just a small, and that is $11. Any hungrier than that, and you'll be hemorrhaging dollars with the quickness. That said, chipotle steak pizza = nomnomnomnomnom. So as always, evaluate in context. In a craphole like Medford, sure, it's pretty good. Compared to what you'd find in a real city? Pales in comparison.

Great food and environment. The Rockefeller Chicken pizza is extremely delicious and my personal favorite. The mozzarella breadsticks are beyond great also!

  • Albert L.

A little disappointing, if only because it's otherwise so well-reviewed. I can see the appeal of this place -- lots of space, quirky interior and exterior, good beer selection, non-greasy pizza. That said, the pizza is only good -- not great -- and also not especially inexpensive. We had the Roxy Ann, which has chicken, portabella mushrooms, roasted garlic, sun-dried tomatoes, oregano, mozzarella, provolone, and marinara (or so the menu says). Again, solid but not spectacular. We also had the roasted garlic appetizer which came highly recommended but was, unfortunately, fairly bland. The bread was cold and a little dry, and the gorgonzola spread seemed oddly paired with the garlic, almost overpowering it. The redeeming part of our meal though was our server, a young girl whose name I forget now but who was tirelessly cheerful and kind. If the rest of the wait staff are just as nice then it's worth the trip alone for that.

Stopped here on a road trip due to the great Yelp reviews. While the pie was good, and the service was nice, Kaleidoscope only gets 3 stars in my book. We ordered: Oven Roasted Garlic - 4 stars - would order again Mozzarella Bread Sticks - 3 stars - would consider it again Half Mike's Veggie Delight and half High Protein Shooter - 3 stars - eh... While I enjoyed the cornmeal crust of the pies, Kaleidoscope just seemed like a typical California "gourmet" pizza chain to me. Sorry, nothing to go out of my way for.

Not that they need another 5 stars - but they do. Mushroom soup is incredible. Prosciutto Blue and Mt Ashland are our family favorites. Such a fun, festive atmosphere. I don't mind that they are bustling every time I'm there - it's a sign of a great restaurant!

I thought it was a nice unique place we stopped by during our road trip. Service was friendly with a comfortable environment. I liked the option of half and half pizzas. We ordered the Kahlua Pork (pulled pork, ham, and pineapple) and the Peter Griffin (3 meats: sausage, pepperoni, and salami). It has traditional options to new, contemporary pizzas with fun names like the Peter Griffin we chose. You can't go wrong with the wide selection they had. :) The crust was yummy--if you like pretty thin to medium thickness. I would recommend the Kahlua Pork if you like the traditional Hawaiian pizzas with a little twist to it.

My wife and I are pilots, and we will actually divert our flight to land at Medford JUST to eat at this pizza restaurant. ABSOLUTELY the best pizza experience EVER!! We visit my daughter in Medford every year and this is the first stop on our list. Amazing toppings, fabulous service and the best eclectic décor in the restaurant. Would LOVE to have them open a restaurant in Seattle. We would be regulars!!

This is one of our two favorite Medford restaurants (the other being India Palace). This is a GREAT place for big groups, or to catch a game at the bar (as long as you're not expecting sound, and everyone in your crew is 21+). They have great pizza, but it's a lot more than that! They have a wonderful array of salads, a pretty decent selection of on-tap brews (although sadly, no more on-tap root beer, which was always a favorite of mine), and a great (and filling) dessert menu! Even though it is ALWAYS packed, we've never had slow service and our food is always out in a timely manner. This place gets an A+! -Lux

Great pizza, the best home made soups! And fresh greens every time you order a salad (with made in house dressings) The decor has a unique quirky feel, and lots of local beers on tap. They are always busy, but you get your food quick, and it never disapoints. It's a little loud and you have to speak up to have a conversation, but it's to be expected with such a popular place.

*Road trip 2012 review!* My boyfriend and I took a random, unplanned road trip up the West coast this summer. With a lot of help from Yelp we stumbled across some great (and not so great) finds!* Rollin' down hwy 5 we consulted the Yelps to find a filling, satisfying, and highly-rated (of course), meal to round out our road trip back to SFO. As expected the Yelps did not fail us as we stumbled upon Kaleidoscope during one of our fuel stops. I'm a sucker for locally-owned businesses and personal biz flare, and boy does this place have some local kick and character. The owners clearly are huge Grateful Dead fans and their personality oozes out of every corner of this restaurant. Jerry Garcia shout out, yo! If the weather is cooperative, I can't recommend the patio enough. Truly one of the most comfy, inviting and "cool" dining patios I've had the pleasure of enjoying. It's like you're pent up in your best friends back yard! I dig it. Local beers, wines via keg, stellar salads and primo pizzas. We were in love with the menu from first glance! After careful deliberation - (sip on one of their local wines for starters - pinot gris is amazing)- we opted for the Sweet and Savory salad for starters. Oh dear, heavens. Why I didn't think of that flavor combo is beyond me!!!! It will surely become my new homemade summer favorite! Spring mix tossed in poppy seed dressing, topped with mandarin oranges, red onions, gorgonzola, avocado and bacon... Be jealous I had the privilege of those flavors dancing on my tongue. The entree salads are definitely big enough to share so keep that in mind if you want a "first course" before your entree. After seeing the small-sized 10" pizzas were cut into four large slices, I recommend splitting a small with a friend/dining companion, as well. One of their current seasonal pizzas (summer of 2012) two kinds of mozzarella cheese, pineapple, ham and bacon was incredible. I go weak in the knees of anything with pineapple and to my delight this pie was perfect. While the dining room of Kalidescope was less desirable than the patio for dining on my end, there's no denying this place is a true gem of Medford. Between amazing salads, a warm, homey patio, inventive pizzas and a superb selection of local brews & wines on tap, I'm no longer surprised why so many people love this place on Yelp and beyond. Keep up the great work, guys!

We only had the pizza so my review might be limited. I wish there was 1/2 stars cause this would be 3 1/2 not 4. The pizza was good however the price was much higher than what I am use to paying in Phoenix, AZ. Also, although I am a fan of garlic, it was a bit much. I could tell it was better quality compared to other pizzas in the valley however still not filling my pizza void completely.

Great selection of pizza, beer and salad! Excellent service, our pizza was delicious and the crust was thin and crispy. Very good and highly recommended!

I love this pizza place. The vibe is really cool but it's the pizza that will keep me coming back. The like the flavor of the crust, it's got a sweet taste to it. They use quality ingredients. The minus one star was for the whole garlic clove appetizer the waiter recommended. It's roasted whole garlic then you have to take the clove off and spread it on your bread. We all thought it was too hard to spread on the bread and the flavor. Even with the so so appetizer, I'll still be back when I'm in the area for the delicious pizza!

Oh, Kaleidoscope. How I wish I lived near you. The server was super nice and helped us pick out our beverages and gluten-free vegan pizzas. He even let us substitute toppings (aka: get rid of cheese) based on the cost of adding cheese and veggies instead of the one cheese for one vegetable. (Cheese additions are usually almost twice the cost of veggies.) THANK YOU! They had plenty of local beer options available and I chose some kind of citrusy wheat beer. It was pretty good but I kind of wish I had gone for another light wheat option that the waiter had mentioned. The person with me enjoyed a gigantic glass of Thomas Kemper Root Beer. We had the Wild Mushroom and the Very Veggie pizzas. They made for a very tasty and filling dinner. We ended up taking a couple of slices to go, but could easily have taken about 4. My dining partner was thrilled that they could make the pizzas vegan AND gluten-free. Kaleidoscope: Thank you for a fantastic experience!

Excellent service and Pizza. Every time I place an order to go, the staff insists on checking the box to make certain they got my order right. Just wish they would make deep dish!! Overall, really tasty food and a happy place to be.

Good for kids and adults. Amazing selection of quality pizzas and good local beers. There is a wait by the door, but not too long. The orders are delivered timely. Definitely recommend for anyone visiting Medford.

amazing pizza place in Medford. They have fresh toppings and each pie is made to order. only recommendation to these folks would be to take the damn artichoke off the topping list. EVERY single vegetarian pizza has artichoke on them. This is not even a good pizza topping if you are real Italian! Less is more when it comes to pizza topping. So usually I just specialize my order and it always comes out great. NO MORE THAN 3 INGREDIENTS (other than sauce and cheese). The crust is AMAZING....... :)

We had dinner on the patio. Although it was 90 degrees outside we were comfortable because the patio is ringed by water misters that make you feel cool. They had a decent Oregon Pinot Noir sold by the glass for $6.25. We had a "side" salad - Raspberry Vinaigrette spinach, which was very good, and enough for two. We also ordered a small pulled Kalua Pork Hawaiian Pizza. It was great - hope it becomes a regular offering on their menu. All-in-all it was an inexpensive and enjoyable dinner.

went here b/c on Tripadvisor, it was ranked #3 out of 90 Medford OR restaurants (yelp insisted on pulling up pizza restaurants in Medford, MA instead of OR). No matter which review got me there, however, I'm glad it did b/c the pizza was very good. I gave this five stars, but it's not "the best" I've ever had -- that is and remains Old Chicago Pizza in Petaluma, CA. But this WAS damn good pizza.

OH MY GOSH!! This place was amazing! We were passing through Medford and after reading reviews, decided to give Kaleidoscope a try. By far...one of the best pizzas we have EVER had!! EVER!! We ordered a 50/50 pizza. One half was bbqed chicken and the other was with a pesto sauce. It was AMAZING!!!! The pizzas made here are creatively delicious. And they are BIG and worth every penny spent. We also ordered a green salad that had bacon and onions...OH MY GOSH! Literally, the best salad EVER at a restaurant. And the staff was friendly and attentive. If you are in the Medford area, you MUST stop here and eat. You MUST!!!!

I'm knocking off one star for the long wait (about an hour for 7, though I do understand we had a large party). However, I would still come back here due to the friendly service and delicious menu. I ordered the "Sweet and Savory" side salad which could have been an entree, it was so hearty and the portions were huge. Then, I had the Alaskan pizza and it was perfect. They have a fully-stocked bar and even had local brews on tap, which I liked. Our waitress was very attentive and checked up on us frequently without being in the way. Great family dining!

The best pizza in Southern Oregon period. On top of that--it is affordable. For $7 to $9 every person in your group can order your own personal pizza with your own favorite topping--no compromising necessary here. The Veggie Calzone is a good one too. I add Canadian bacon to make it not so veggie. What I really like is this place is original. It has a unique menu along with unique decor. Go at 6 pm and you will have to wait for a table, though.

Kaleidoscope is one of a very few places we are willing to take anyone who comes to visit to eat. The pizza is unique and delicious. Our favorite is the Pesto Supreme. The service is always good, attentive and friendly. The atmosphere can be a little loud and overwhelming, but that just goes to show that people love it! Not only do they have very good pizza, but their soups are amazing, and the cheesecake is...bliss! I have not been impressed with the salads (bland) even though they look amazing and are huge. They have a very nice wine and beer list. They are a teensy bit pricey, but we have never been disappointed with the food or service, so are willing to pay. My very picky grandmother said it was the best pizza she had ever eaten, and I have girlfriends that REQUIRE us to go there when they come to town. The pizza is just that good. If you are not from Medford you may not understand that in Medford it can be very challenging to find a restaurant that has consistently good food and service. Part of the appeal of Kaleioscope, in addition to the yummy pizza, is that it is consistently good. Edited 10/8/12 to add: I recently had the opportunity to have salad from Kaleidoscope. The SIDE salad is big. I ordered one of the chicken salad options for $6.25. It was fresh and tasty and easily served me two portions. My husband ordered the cajun chicken ceasar with sun dried tomatoes...oh yummy! Both were very good and for the size the prices can't be beat!

Living in the goondocks, I don't have access to decent pizza. So on a recent day trip to Medford I picked up some pizza to bring home. It did not disappoint. The crust is thin, with a bit of chewiness that I enjoy. The toppings were fresh (I chose the wild mushroom) and the "Alaska sauce" (ricotta, pesto, and some other mystery ingredients) was really good, much to my surprise. The bf's sausage pizza was slightly salty, but otherwise he enjoyed it a lot. I'd go back.

Whenever I'm in Medford, a visit to this place is a must! And when I'm not in the area I dream of this place. I have always been happy with the service and the amazingly delicious food! I've tried a few different pizzas and one that stands out in my memory is the Chicken Enchilada pizza. The jalapeños give it a spicy kick without being overpowering...I'm a sissy with spicy stuff! I typically will go with the Buffalo Blue side salad, and it's HUGE. Adding on the 2 breadsticks for a dollar can make the meal complete! The servers have always been friendly. The wait can be a pain sometimes, but I have never personally had a wait long enough for this rating to lose a star. A friend and I went by on a Saturday night around 830 and were seated immediately. We tried the "off the menu" berry cobbler after some debate since we were so stuffed from the salads and cheesy breadstick order (p.s. their house marinara sauce is super yummy!!!) ...soooo glad we decided to try it. Sweet crumble and tart berries and creamy ice cream...um HELLO HEAVEN! It was a pretty large portion, and we couldn't finish it off but we gave it one heck of a shot. Love this place all around. Wish they had a location in Eugene!

Excellent Avalanche (BBQ meat lover's), very good Popeye (spinach-based), and tasty cheese-bread. Beer selection is pretty reasonable --- got a local porter on the nitro tap. The waitstaff is good, even in cramped spaces --- there were plenty of high chairs and +1 chairs to dance around, and they did fine. We had four adults and two under-5's, and the waiter handled a wide variety of requests easily. Ah, but the front desk --- they were not ready for the Pear Blossom Festival. Ever-changing descriptions of who's ahead of your party, "30 minute" wait times that didn't seem correlated, and a complex bookkeeping system involving crayons. We got a table after an hour. I'll come back on a Monday, or a quiet weekend --- but I'll steer clear on festival, parade, or home game days.

On a roadtrip from Seattle to LA it's hard to find good food that's not greasy diner food or fast food. Their beer selection is great and the atmosphere is awesome. Also our waitress went above and beyond for me. I'm vegan, and I had heard one of their crusts was vegan, which is why we stopped here. At first the waitress couldn't find one, but she was really sweet and determined, and found out the gluten free pizza is vegan, so I ordered that. When the other pizzas came and mine didn't, she came running back, super apologetic because they'd made my pizza on the wrong crust and she wanted it to be right. I've been to plenty of restaurants where they'd just lie to me and give me what they made, so I really appreciate her doing that. She also brought me a huge (like family sized) hummus plate while I waited for my pizza. Every west coast drive from now on will include a stop to Kaleidoscope.

We love Kaleidoscope! The salad is fresh and big, a meal on it's own. The pizza is one of our favourites in the Rogue Valley it is served fresh and hot. In good weather the outdoor seating area is nice. The family works hard and are involved in our community, this is a big plus.

This place is awesome. Really good pizza, great service. My favorite part of Kaleidoscope is probably the decor. Gratefull Dead all over the walls. All the servers wear tie-dye. I applied for a job and was interviewed (didn't get the job because of my schedule), and therefore got to speak with the manager, Jake. Awesome guy. Overall, I've never had any reason to give this place any fewer than five stars. Their service is always top notch, and their food amazing.

My friend brought me down to Ashland with him and we came here for dinner. I had been craving pizza for months and I was excited to finally eat some. We drove by a bunch of pizza places that he said were really good too and he considered going there but he always just said "no nevermind lets go to Kalediscope." Haha. We totally got lost because the exits had changed since he was last there but we finally found it. Its by Burger King. Parking was easy and the restaurants pretty big. He said it gets packed during the weekend but we were there on a Monday and it was relatively empty. We got a large half avalanche pizza and half shrimp fiesta. Something like that. I think the pizzas are pretty pricey but it was damn good. I never eat pizza crust but theirs was really good. It was super soft without being doughy and the rest of the pizza was still crispy. I have no idea how they accomplished that. My pizza was way too spicy and I was pretty much dying half way through. I had to pick off most of the jalapenos. We ordered a thing of marinara (50 cents extra) to dip the breadstick like crust in and the sauce came out piping hot. Service was nice and attentive. I was asking my friend about some dessert and out of no where the waitress comes and answers my question and I have no idea how she even heard me. Haha. Our water was also always filled. We had a ton leftover but we totally forgot the last two slices in his parents fridge and I'm pretty sure they just threw it away. Poor pizza =(

Absolutely amazing pizza, beer, and dessert! Their selection of local brews (at reasonalble prices) was great, and every one I had was excellent. I got the "Avalanche" pizza, which is pretty much a BBQ chicken pizza with pepperoni and bacon. Gotta love their creative topping combinations! The wife got some garlic/artichoke combo and my son had about what you'd expect from a 6-year-old: plain cheese. They were all delicious. We finished it off with the "grasshopper pie", which is a gigantic slab of mint chip ice cream on a chocolate cookie with whipped cream and chocolate chips on top. My son hasn't gone a day without talking about it, and it's been 2 weeks. I just wish there was one of these down in the LA area! It might turn me into a fat, drunk degenerate but it would be worth it.

Nice décor and the wait was not bad at all my son and I ordered an appetizer it was awesome the breadstick pizza with salmon and capers with cream cheese great flavors. Then for my son's pizza he got the chicken club it was rather bland but my pizza pie whoaaa was the best it was Pulled pork OMG it was delicious we were so full had to take it to go just from eating the appetizer, the waitress we had was great too. I would recommend this place for families. We will be going there again on my next visit to Oregon.

This place has great food and a fun atmosphere. The first thing you notice is the Grateful Dead theme throughout the restaurant. It was a warm day so the outdoor seating was available. It was nice outside and they had some fun and funky sculptures outside. The main item on the menu is the pizza. And they have everything you want in a pizza place, and more. Since my family has split tastes in pizza, we went with a split pizza. In addition my wife and I ordered a side salad. First the pizza - plenty of toppings and a very tasty crust. My daughters and I loved the crust but my wife prefers a thin, crispy crust so she wasn't all that impressed. But the salads were amazing. The chicken is sliced thin and tossed in spices. I had the buffalo bleu salad, which had grilled chicken in buffalo sauce and the salad was tossed in bleu cheese dressing. It had other fresh veggies and was an all around awesome salad. My wife had the Caesar salad but with ranch dressing. She loved her's as well. This is a family restaurant that has a nice bar. The bar has several TV's so you can catch a game while enjoying their menu.

horrible service and dirty. sat at the bar for 5 minutes and was never acknowledged. Bartender would rather complain how it was slow and he didn't make any money. Got up and walked out. The fruit flies were nasty too. Old food still on the floor. do not waste your money here.

I hardly ever give 5-star reviews, but this place certainly deserves the praise! My wife and I went last week and split a buffalo chicken salad, a pizza with smoked chicken and pineapples, and a massive piece of grasshopper pie. Service was stellar, atmosphere was wonderful, prices were a bit steep for bigger pizzas, but we thought the small pizza price was okay. Certainly not a place I could afford to come to every week -- but certainly a wonderful, family-friendly place for occasional outings!

This place is incredible! I didn't think I was hungry until I started eating their pizza. I had one of their special pizza but forgot the name. Didn't think I was too hungry so only ordered a small which left me room for dessert! The grasshopper pie is what I ordered cause it sounded so different and I did not regret. The service is also excellent. All the servers greets you with a smile and they keep coming around to refill your drinks. This place is very busy with long lines well into the evening. The wait is not long though as the crowd moves along just fine. I will definitely go back and try other pizzas.

Thank you Yelp for hooking us up once again on a roadtrip! We needed a break on a 12 hr drive home from NorCal, and Kaleidoscope Pizza was a godsend. Our server was friendly and efficient, and even chatted with us about their beer selection (which is really impressive) and the local beer scene. The pizza was fantastic as well. Thin, crispy, chewy crust, and good toppings. The fact that they offer whole-wheat crust at no extra charge was just icing on the cake. We'll be back whenever we pass through Medford again.

This update literally hurts me to write. For a long time, Kaleidoscope was a bright spot in this dingy little town, and one of the only things I looked forward to when visiting. But, after my experience yesterday, I am left with the icky feeling that my previous review no longer applies :( My sister, daughter and I went in yesterday to get a couple of pizzas to go. While ordering, I happened to glance over toward the kitchen and noticed a guy leaning out and appearing to stare. I didn't pay much attention, figuring maybe he was waiting to speak to the girl taking my order, and let it go. Then my sister decided to have a beer while we waited, so we sat at a table behind the bar. More staring. I looked back toward the kitchen, and a guy walked out, looked at me, chuckled, and scurried back into the kitchen. WTF? I asked my sister if I had something on my face. She said, "I was just wondering the same thing. People keep staring at us." And it wasn't the customers. A few minutes later, a waitress came and asked us to move to a booth, because they couldn't have minors in the area in which were sitting. I had wondered about that, but because there was no sign stating this and we weren't sitting AT the bar, I wasn't sure. Anyway, we moved, and my sister wondered if that was what the staring was about. If so, that is BEYOND unprofessional, and either way, made me highly uncomfortable. The whole vibe has changed over the past few years, and it's a real bummer. I'd probably go back with family or whatever, but I'd most likely be uncomfortable the whole time, and I won't go back on my own. Never, EVER thought I'd say that, but it is what it is. I do not enjoy being gawked at. Also, both my sister and my daughter got sick that night. I didn't, so I can't say for sure that it was the pizza, but it was definitely weird.

Based on one visit and salad only. It was Wednesday night at 6:30 and the place was packed! There was a line to be seated. The air was stuffy and humid and it was incredibly loud. You had to raise your voice to be heard over the din. Salad was okay, nothing special, though the greens did look relatively fresh.

This is easily the best pizza in Southern Oregon. I love all their creative approaches and I recently even discovered their delicious thick crust which takes the pizza to a whole different level. It's a great place to dine in, or to get take out. The pear cider is delicious and their sesame soy salad is one of my favorites I've ever had. The avalanche is a favorite pick for us, but I also enjoy their simple pepperoni pizza. They also have a delicious Kalua pork with pineapple pizza. Try it out next time you are craving some delicious pizza.

Amazing salads and great pizzas. I don't really crave salads too often, but this place has me craving their salads. Unfortunately I am not from this area. However, the next time I am in the area, I will be sure to eat here again. I believe the salad was BBQ chicken with blue cheese. Produce was fresh and crisp and the BBQ sauce and blue cheese were both very good. I also had the Hawaiian pizza, which is a pretty standard pizza. However this place gave it a little extra. Crispy crust and great ham and pineapple. It's a pretty large place and housed my very, very large family for the evening. The service was good, despite the amount of people that had just walked in all at once. Overall, this is a pretty solid place.

  • Doug L.

This is by far my favorite pizza place in Medford, the key factor being the flavorful crust which is so crucial to a good pie. My regular selection is the unusual but delicious Baja Picante: Blackened chicken, pepperoni, jalapénos, sour cream, diced romas, green onions, mozzarella, provolone, Tillamook cheddar and cream cheese. The cream cheese rather than a customary marinara base is what worried me, but it works. (I don't want to know how many calories are in one slice but it's good) This would be a five star review if not for one thing: Price. It is a little spendy. However, pretty good service (mostly), large selection of wines/beers, decor and quality of food makes it more than worth checking this place out!

  • J K.

The pizzas were amazing and I will definitely come back. But what I didn't like was that it took 45 minutes to get one pizza and I know they are busy but when you just got off of work and skipped lunch, you can get a little vicious. But I'm a trooper and I loooooooooved the food!

  • Karmic K.

I've tried about 85% of their menu and have NEVER been disappointed. *Great salads- recommend the blackened chicken caesar... Killer dressing! *Insanely good pizzas- try the chicken ranch, Mt. Ashland, chicken enchilada or the Garcia bleu. *Awesome Bar- beers on tap from all over... SOB pin up porter is tough to beat! Cocktails have never been weak either. All in all, consistently great food, drinks and setting. No wonder it's been voted (peoples choice) Medfords best pizza like 14 times (or close to) in a row!

We were passing through on the interstate and stopped at a local hotel for the night. Kaleidoscope was suggested by the hotel staff and we headed on over. With the line out the door we knew it had to be good. The staff was warm and friendly and the pizza up there with other great places I've tried around the country. Head and shoulders above your average pizza place and one that I wished I lived closer to.

I would have to say that Kaleidoscope Pizzeria & Pub is the best pizza around. My favorite is the chicken, spinach, and garlic, which actually has whole roasted garlic cloves. Not only are the pies amazing but the selection of draft beers is almost unbeatable. If you have never been here I would highly recommend it, you will not be disappointed. There is even a full service bar with big screen TVs to catch all the live sporting events.

On a long drive from Seattle to Palo Alto (13-15 hours with stops), we decided to break up the trip and stop in Medford, OR. With the family back in the hotel room, I drove over to pick up pizza and breadsticks. We didn't expect much food-wise from Medford, but were pleasantly surprised! We got the Mozzarella Bread Sticks (Bread, mozzarella, provolone and oregano served with marinara, ranch or house sauce). The mozzarella was amazing. We honestly would have been happy with just this - nom nom nom! The pizza was Mike's Veggie Delight (Broccoli, romas, green peppers, roasted garlic, kalamata olives, artichoke hearts, portabella mushrooms, marinara, feta, mozzarella and provolone). A little bit a 'kitchen sink' of toppings, but good. Good crust, fresh ingredients, good cheese. I wish they did delivery and the phone service was a little lacking when placing order, but otherwise - delicious.

It's become a habit over the past few months to call ahead and pick up a medium half-Avalanche, half-Kahlua Pork and usually a Sesame Soy salad on evenings when we're tired and don't feel like cooking, or when we just want some excellent pizza. Tons of variety here and it's all good. Ignore the people who complain about the "grittiness" of the cornmeal on the bottom of the crust. It's there for a reason. I've actually only dined in here once, years ago, and that was just as good. Pick up a growler of pear cider with your order and thank me later.

Margaret S. was my server. She was very helpful, accommodating with the beer samplers (I paid a fair price for this flexibility) though not officially on the menu, & timely with the Thai Chicken pizza. People here love their job & smile a lot at their customers. Very welcoming environment. I regularly stop here for dinner & brews on business trips. Never Disappointed. Thanks.

Great salad (greens, feta cheese, mandarin oranges, avocado, sweet onions ....) w/a tasty salad dressing. Aloha pizza - was good, but nothing special. My fault for not ordering better. Hugarian Mushroom soup - a bit too salty for my taste. Noisy inside. but nice decor.

If this place were in Chicago I'd give it two or three stars, but it's in Medford where there isn't a ton a choice, so I'll give it four stars. The pizza is good - chewy crusts, large slices, and inventive ingredients. I really enjoyed the blackened chicken Caesar salad and found the smaller side portion to be big enough. I've also had the ceasar with salmon, but was disappointed that the salmon was dry and flakes, not a steak that had been freshly cooked and sliced. My mom and I ordered a slice of mud pie and were stunned at the size of it - way too big got one or even two people. We worked on it forever but couldn't finish yet, and it seemed rather wasteful. Fun interior, nice patio with funky sculptures, average prices. I've always had good service here and the owner himself took great care of us when we asked to be moved inside due to the heat and flies. I should add that the flies weren't the fault if the restaurant, it was just one if those crazy hot, starving fly days.

Went here with my wife while visiting the Medford area on vacation. The reviews did not disappoint at all. The pizza was delicious and plenty! The beer selection was awesome. The ambience was also the most welcoming of all the Medford restaurants we ate at as well. Highly recommend and we will be coming back!

I'll keep it short. The most amazing pizza I've ever tasted has been here, at this restaurant. I'm especially impressed with them letting the K9 sheriffs eat there in the summer with their dogs on the back patio (so their dogs aren't stuck in the vehicle, with high temperatures).

Actually, a 3.5 star rating. Huge, trendy, booming pizza place with an interesting menu and designer and local beers/wines. Patio dining is quite inviting too. Good family dining. Pizzas are amazing and many gourmet toppings. The desserts, we did not imbibe, looked so tempting. Our loyal server, Hakeem, the best. He made sure we were well taken care of. Probably will stop here again, on our way home in a month. Ask for Hakeem.

Kaleidoscope Pizzeria & Pub in Medford serves the best pizza in this town. And they have a wonderful selection of micro brew beers to go with the pizza. Finally, the salad selection is equally excellent. As a testament to the restaurants popularity, the site has been been expanded several times, both inside and out, since arriving in Medford about ten years ago. The owners, evidently huge fans of the Grateful Dead judging from the decor, have done a great job. So great, that a possible downside is that it is always crowded and pretty noisy! Well worth a visit though!

There are three things that are very important to me when it comes to pizza: The Crust, The Sauce, Quality Toppings (in this order). I thought this pizza was just okay. The crust was a bit too chewy and the sauce was lackluster. The toppings were quite good and from the menu, it was clear they offered more than the average pie shop. After hearing/reading about the rave reviews I had very high expectations and left feeling a little disappointed. I adore Mtn. Mike's Pizza in Medford and feel now the trip there from Central Point is worth every minute.

This place is worth the drive and the wait!!!this is one of the best pizza places I have eaten at! Exceptional Quality! Delicious food. This is a busy place for a good reason. Service was awesome. Jaelyn was my server and she was on top of everything and it was really busy. Wow! Just can't describe how good the food is. They need a tasting and smelling app for the internet!

Great food, never once have I been disappointed. The many times we have been here I've never had a bad meal, in fact we had a slightly burnt edge of a pizza (still totally edible and 99% unburnt) the manager brought out the slightly burnt pizza and then a full new unburnt pizza in a box.. I was amazed. Only reason for 4 stars and not 5 is that the price is IMHO really high.. The food is great and the service is as well, and you do get what you pay for.. However this area just doesn't have that kind of cash.. Also the restaurant is extremely noisy most times, but hey it's fun.

We had the Mt. Ashland pizza and the blackened caesar salad. Both were two delicious entrees. Hefty toppings on thin-crust pizza and blackened caesar salad was refreshing and delicious. Their caesar dressing was garlicky but I liked it. Employees were friendly too. Maybe we were just very hungry after driving for 6 hours from California... But hey, if the salad can stay fresh after two days in the fridge (without dressing) and the leftover slice of pizza still tastes as good as the day we bought it, I say that's one great pizza!!!

I have heard how great this place was, first time there was a BARF FEST, my whole family was sick, Barfing all night long, For Hours, must have been rotten, they did not handle the food properly. I pucked my Guts out all night long. After i went there i had heard that others had the same experience i had I will not go Back, it really did not taste that good anyway I live in Central Point, It is farther to drive to Ashland, but they have a much better place the eat I like Great American Pizza Company in Ashland Is by far much better anyway

I love this place! Everything is good.. Pizza.. Calzones.. Bread sticks and salads that are all delicious. Lots of choices and innovative pizzas that are to die for. If you come to Medford, this is the best spot to eat in my opinion.

Even though the staff can be hit and miss, the food is incredibly good. We ordered an awesome pineapple pizza which took up our entire table. The pizza was so delicious because the crust was perfect and the toppings were fresh. Now when I say fresh, I mean that it was absolutely obvious that the pineapples were just chopped up and put on our pizza...that's how fresh it was. On top of that, we washed our pizza down with an awesome Hard Pear Cider

Really good pizza! The side salads are big enough to share as a starter. The cheesecake was yummy also. This was a great place to stop on our way back to California. Great service and pleasant atmosphere. Very clean.

It makes me very sad that my new favorite pizza place with the best pizza EVER it so damn far from home. We were wowed with everything we ordered (it was a lot!) My favorite, though, is on the "new" menu and that is the Peter Griffin pizza. This means a lot for me to say this, cause I HATE Family Guy! It's the perfect combination of toppings. So so good! Totally diggin the texture of the crust! And that Mud Pie thing, better go loaded for bear if you plan on finishing that bad boy! IT'S HUGE!

Had a long wait then sat in a very loud restaurant with too many TVs. The salad and pizza were mediocre. I can do better at home. I don't see what all the fuss is about.

I was pretty hungry, so I'm going to try to remember what was starvation and what was actually amazing. I loved that they gave the option of fresh or canned jalapeños. I had a pineapple-jalapeño pizza and it was great! The dough was a little salty, but everything else was perfect. Got my pizza in a reasonable amount of time, just wish I could have dined in a gotten a beer with my pizza.

I love this place! Just wish it wasn't so busy all the time. The pizza and salads are excellent. Sometimes you have to ask for extra dressing but they always bring more. The bar is well stocked with great beers.

I found this place courtesy of fellow yelpers-- my husband and I were passing through on our way up the coast and wanted to spare ourselves from fast food. I called in an order to go, so I can't say much about the place itself (other than I found it easily without knowing a single smacking thing about Medford, OR). But, both the margarita pizza and the caesar salad were very tasty. The salad dressing was a bit peppery-- I really liked it, but my husband wasn't as big fan, so I'm glad it came on the side. Staff were friendly on the phone and during my pick-up, and everything was ready when they said it would be. Suck it, fast food.

OUTSTANDING: food, service, and decor. Try the Mediterranean Pizza, you won't be sorry! Come late in the evening; there are families in the early/late afternoon and the screaming brats will resonate inside the spacious cedar lined ceiling. One of the best dining experiences in Medford OR, where there is NO SALES TAX.

On a road trip from SF to Vancouver when hunger pangs struck us while crossing the California-Oregon border. Thanks to Yelp, we discovered this gem of a pizza place! The Kahlua Pork Pizza was soooo bomb we ended up making a detour on our way back to SF just to buy another pizza!

We just moved to town and are so glad we found this place. We bring everyone here that comes to visit us. I have lived and traveled the whole west coast and this is definitely one of the best pizza places on the west coast. The ambience and service is also top notch.

My brother and I were passing by Medford, and decided on a whim to check it out, and boy are we glad we did. What I love MORE than the pizzas is the rowdy-cozy environment of this place. The servers are friendly and chill, and everyone seems to be having fun and just totally digging the food. (It felt like a "Great Harvest" for pizza - nonchalant, uber friendly, tie-dye hippie, etc.) The place was packed at around 8pm, and the wait for a table was ~20min. The bar seating was first come-first serve and the turn-over rate was high. Don't remember the name but our pizza had steak, blue cheese, onions, tomatoes, peppers and sausage... taaasty. The crust, delicious, and all elements of the pizza were fresh and flavorful (cheese, tomato sauce, meat). They have a TON of local beers and wines to choose from, and reasonably-priced too. The two of us shared a pitcher of Lost Coast tangerine beer (sluurrrpppp). I was also looking at the wine list, and the bartender tells me that they take $8 off if you'd like to bring some home. Sold! We got a bottle to bring home. HOW AWESOME IS THAT. If you're driving through on a road trip, YOU MUST STOP BY.

Kaleidoscope is a busy, friendly and attractive Grateful Dead themed restaurant. The Dead are everywhere, except possibly on the stereo. You couldn't hear the music over the din of people blissfully having a great time. I think they should install hi-def flat screens and larger speakers like Hard Rock, although not for my benefit; the Dead don't do much for me. There were great salads, a full bar and a decent wine list, but for this New Yawker the pizza was a zero. Why? Corn meal on the bottom of the pie. It was jarring to feel the crunch of the corn with each bite; it felt like tiny pieces of glass in my mouth, or perhaps sand. I was picking little pieces of it off my tongue for some time afterward. Good pizza is hard to find on the left coast, much less in Medford, Oregon. The best in the area is still found at Giseppi's and Ashland Creek Pizza, both in of course, Ashland. I won't be back to Kaleidoscope, and as mobbed as it was they won't notice.

For those of you who aren't absolutely in love with this place, stay away so those of us who love it can get seated quicker... :) No seriously, this place is one of our favorites. From the local brews on tap to the wonderful ceasar salads to the cleverly creative pizza selections. You can't go wrong here. We love the whole wheat crust, a medium lasts my husband and I 2 dinners. Once, they "burned" a pizza that we had ordered and the waitress brought it out for us to pick at while a replacement was being made. Heck, I've burned them worse at home and we ate them. So it was like 2 for the price of 1. The MUD PIE, omg.... It's huge and sinfully delicious. I've never ever noticed any wilty brown salad there or anything else, the place is incredible as referenced by the ever-present line of people waiting to get in the door. If you are brave enough to venture in, expect a good 15 minute wait after 530 pm most nights, but it's worth it. :) Try our new favorite, it's currently on the "special" list - the Antipasto.... MMMM...

After hearing good things about Kaleidoscope, I finally got a chance to be in the vicinity and be hungry at the same time. And it's lucky I was hungry because the pizza was great! I have been searching in the wilderness of the West coast for over 20 years for a pizza that even comes close to the quality and flavor of the East coast pizzas I grew up with, and this is easily the closest yet. The dough is hand-tossed which, my chef dining partner told me, makes all the difference and the toppings were of high quality. The beer list was awesome and the decor was cool; music to match it would've added the final touch. I will definitely return!

I love this place. Such a huge variety of pizzas and salads. They also have delicious soups and desserts. This place is ALWAYS crowded but won't take reservations for smaller groups. But, the atmosphere in the restaurant makes the crowds acceptable and just part of the experience.

Stopped in for dinner last night for the first time in over a year. We ordered our usual pizza and salad, and it was every bit as good as the last time we were here. We're always amazed that with what appears to be a large staff turnover -- the average server age appears to be about 22 -- these guys have an amazing level of consistency. Some times are better than others, but we've never had a bad meal, or bad dining experience, here. I have no idea what makes Kaleidoscope so good overall. But if they could bottle it, and sell some to the schlubs who run understaffed, overpriced eateries near us on the south Oregon coast, we'd be much obliged.

I'm not a pizza fan, or wasn't -- I'm lactose intolerant. But since we've settled in Oregon we've been back more than a handful of times. While New York pizza supposedly sets the standard we thought Kaleidoscope does it better than most -- and their salads are worthy of being a meal all unto themselves. They are popular and there will often be a wait at meal times and, as much as we hate crowds and waiting, we've done this too, more than we'd like to -- because their food is worth it. Service has ranged from being friendly to efficient -- but always attentive.

I came here last week while I was on a family trip in Oregon, and I decided to try this place since it was the most popular restaurant in Medford. There were quite a few parties before us, but we were seated pretty quickly (~20 minutes). After we were seated, our waiter came by carrying two cups of beer for the table next to us, and told us he would be right with us. Upon putting the beer onto the table, the waiter spilled a whole cup of beer onto the table next to us and some of it got on my brother. He apologized and cleaned everything up, and we could tell he was embarrassed about the situation. At the end of our meal, when he was bussing our tables, he dropped a couple utensils and apologized again. Despite these occurrences, I would still say that the service was pretty good in that he was extremely friendly, and this day just happened to be an off day for him. We ordered a medium pizza for 4 people, and half of it was Thai Chicken while the other half was the Avalanche. I actually was pleasantly surprised with both pizzas. The sauce of the Thai Chicken pizza was very creamy and had a strong peanut flavor, like many Thai dishes, and although the flavors were more Americanized, all the components, the sauce, chicken, and bean sprouts, went pretty well together. The avalanche was on the heavier side, but it was also pretty good. It had pepperoni, bacon, and chicken, which is a lot of meat, but there was an even portion of each. The barbeque sauce was full of flavor and although it was strong, it did not cover the natural flavors of the meat. You could still distinctly taste the bacon and pepperoni. The actual dough of the pizza was great! The dough was chewy and had a lot of elasticity, and even the crust was yummy to eat. Besides the pizza, we also ordered a bowl of baked potato soup and a bowl of Hungarian mushroom soup. The baked potato soup was a tad too heavy for me; I could have a couple sips of it but it was super cheesy and overwhelming for my taste. The Hungarian mushroom soup was good! It was pretty light but well seasoned. The mushroom was pureed, but you could still taste the small chunks of mushroom, which was interesting because I've never had a mushroom puree based soup before. I've definitely had better pizza, but if you're in the area and don't know what to eat, this is a safe choice.

I went into Kaleidoscope again after the manager messaged me and apologized on account of my poor experience. My boyfriend and I (without telling them who we were of course) were seated immediately. We ordered drinks and a pizza and all of it was delicious. Our server was super prompt and friendly. The experience was 10x better than our first one and we really appreciated management taking the time to take care of us. Thanks Kaleidoscope! :)

  • Benjamin K.

We like Kaleidoscope, but lets be honest--it's overpriced and over hyped. The primary issue, besides price and hype, is the shear fact that their dough is fundamentally flawed--it does not appropriately crisp in the oven and be forewarned, if you take it to go, it WILL be soggy. I promise. Typically, dough should be conditioned for pizza, which means slight aging (a day or three in the fridge before use) and/or a dough conditioner should utilized. I'm not sure how they make their dough, but it is off, and doesn't do well once cooked. Great service at this place overall--anytime we've had a problem, they are quick to correct it. They have a large menu of beer and wine. Unfortunately, the beer list has really become IPA centric, which is honestly a bore in the sea of beer we currently have available to us. Extremely family friendly, and almost always on a 10-30 minute wait for a table, no matter the time you go. Definitely worth the experience--it's one of the busiest pizza joints in Oregon, but it probably won't blow your mind if you are a pizza snob like myself.

Our experience was nothing short of perfection. Our family (of five) ordered two pizzas: the Spicy Pepperoni - which was basically pepperoni with pepperocinis, and not too spicy - and the Table Rock, a vegetarian offering that was the best this omnivore has ever had. The spinach, garlic, olives, artichokes, and sun-dried tomatoes, played beautifully together atop a light, delicious crust. The crust on both pizzas was deceptively thin - which we prefer - but had just the right balance of crispiness and chew. We also enjoyed a large mixed green salad, that even my non-salad loving son helped to devour. We really could've/should've ordered two. Jake, our server, was fantastic: prompt, courteous, and personable; not artificially sweetened (as you so often find in customer-service folks these days). We were seated immediately, the place was clean, prices were reasonable, wait staff was friendly, what else can I say? I'd give this place six stars if I could.

Pros: food was great (we had pizza, salads and a garlic app), portion size was big, great variety of beers and cocktails, our waiter was very attentive The only con I have was that when I came in to put my name down (waits seem to be the norm here which is OK) ... I waited behind two girls and then a couple came in pushed right in front of me and the hostess didn't say anything. When I finally got to her I said you know I was here first and got no apology just a confused look Besides that minor detail though I would recommend this place to anyone traveling through

Can't argue with the majority of Yelpers and their ravings about this place. Hands down, in my opinion, best pizza in Medford. Love the Thai Pizza and all of the variations to build your own pie. I like to do two pizzas and then half and half them for more variety. You can also select thin crust and whole-wheat for a little less calories. Only downside is the crowds, the wait for a table, and service can be slow on busy nights. Also good for take-out too.

My 'go to' place when nothing but a good salad will do! Pizza is a plus, but seriously their salads are the best. I love the' blackened chicken caesar' and the 'sweet and savory' but I've tried them all and all are good. The soups are great, the desserts are huge, Some friends and I ordered the grasshopper pie (better than the mud pie IMO) and one slice could not be finished by five of us! The only reasons I don't give it five stars are the noise which can make it very hard to have a conversation and the help is sometimes distracted which I take to be the result of the high volume of business done here at mealtimes. Go at an off-hour if you want quiet or leisure. The patio is really nice and definitely quieter.

  • Leslie T.

Went for a Salad, get the "side " one, it is huge. We also got soup and breadsticks. The cheesy breadsticks were fantastic. We ended with the grasshopper dessert which just about covered a dinner size plate. The perfect size for 4 people to share. I have had their pizza before, it is pretty good but I prefer their other menu items when I go there.

We waited 1 hr for our food. It was really good when our pizza finally got there. Our waiter did one round of refills and then disappeared until way after our food came. I would probably go again but they need to work on there service. I would rate the food 4 STARS. Service: 2 STARS

  • Daniel P.

OMB was this place phenomenal. My wife and I had the Caesar salad and "mozzarella sticks" as an appetizer. I only place the sticks in quotations because this appetizer is massive, its more like a persona sized pizza, and at $6.95 a total steal! The marinara sauce was one of the best I have ever had. It was made with, what appeared to be, fresh and roasted garlic which gave it a sumptuous taste. The salad was also massive and had a freshly prepared dressing, bright crisp lettuce and massive amounts of cheese. Perfectly executed! We ordered a pizza but had to take it back to our hotel as we could not eat a bite after our appetizers. We had the pizza the next day and it was delicious. Highly recommended!

  • Ellis A.

I liked this place, it was alright. The wait was a little ridiculous, the pizza was just so-so, and the service was downright bad. My boyfriends mother loves this place but I don't think I'll ever go back. I've had better pizza 10X over in Portland and even a better place, for much less money, in Medford. I'm not on-board with the decor and again, the wait just didn't seem worth it. I give 3 stars because the food wasn't terrible but I probably will not return on my own terms.

Good pizza with options for whole wheat or gluten free crust. I do not think this is the best pizza in the valley, that's probably at Creekside in Ashland. It's still good food, although the restaurant is not in my favorite part of town and is often crowded and noisy at peak times. Good beer selection even if it is not adventurous.

Amazing pizza, great soups, cold beer, and pictures of Jerry Garcia on the wall; what more could a person ask for from a pizza joint?

  • Bob I.

My wife and I stopped by this place on our way back home from Grants Pass, and it was excellent, based upon what we tried. We both got salads, a Caesar and a house mixed greens, and a couple cups of the Yucatan Chicken and lime soup. Soup was good, lots of lime flavor, a little heat, and satisfying. Both salads, and these were both "Small" salads were pretty generous servings. Good selection of microbrews, big wine list, and the pizzas sounded good. I could have done without all the Jerry Garcia tribute art, but apparently a lot of people liked him and his music? As has always been the case with every waiter, host, and other employee in the service industry here in Oregon, 5 stars! Waiter was efficient and pleasant, and when I put my cash on the tag, he automatically said "I'll be right back with your change" instead of the typical California "Do you want any change?"

I'm giving 4 stars for the service. Our waiter was very nice and prompt, although good pizza does take a wait! To be honest, this is not the best pizza I've ever had. Good, yes, and definitely intriguing, delicious flavor combos that you can't get elsewhere. My husband liked the crust, and it was good...they could improve by offering a wheat option as well. We had their Kahlua Luau Pork special, with very tasty marinated pork, scallions, red onions, fresh pineapple (not canned), and sesame seeds. Big slices, but my 6 year old ate two (usually more than enough) and he was complaining about still being hungry after we left. We also got an entree-sized salad, the special, which was a gourmet blend of salad greens, bacon, gorgonzola, red onion, avocado, mandarin sections, and lemon poppyseed dressing. The best salad I've ever had in a pizza joint (usually it's the dilapidated salad bar with iceberg lettuce); very, very tasty! We'd go back; my guy wants to try some of their meatier options (and he's a sucker for Ninkasi on tap), but I'll probably just stick with a salad since I thought the pizza was just ok. Competitive prices, but not necessarily a good value. We had the entree salad ($11) and a medium pizza for a 6 yr old, 2 yr old, and 2 adults. We finished everything, and my son said he was still hungry. The pizza itself was around $24...I believe the large was about $28. (OK, so I just read their menu and it says whole wheat crusts are available. That would've been nice to know...maybe a sever could say something? I totally did NOT see that on the in house menu!)

This pizza joint was definitely a gem. After a long day of driving and finally making our fist stop in Oregon for the night, we were turned towards this local spot after chatting with the front desk of our hotel. I must admit that we had no idea that we were in for such a treat. As soon as I walked in, the decor and the atmosphere was very appealing. There were a bunch of big screens on the wall with different games on, a full stacked bar, and they staff was very friendly and hospitable. We ordered two large pizzas, the first called the "Peter Griffin" as in family guy. We HAD to order it since both my brother and I were big fans of the show. It had pepperoni, ham, bacon, sausage, cheddar and mozzarella cheese. The second called the "Roxy Ann," was loaded with roasted chicken, portabella mushroom, roasted garlic, sun dried tomatoes, diced romas, orgeano, mozzarella, and provalone, chesse. Bonus was the had one of my favorite beers: the tangerine ale from lost cost on tap. We also ordered the hungarian mushroom soup, and atlantic smoked salmon ceasar salad for starters. Bother were mighty good eatin. We were very satisfied with the food and service. They staff was so nice that they were even willing to put the SF Giants game on for me. TOP NOTCH!!! I will absolutely be returning here again someday.

Oh Kaleidoscope Pizzeria and Pub! I am still dreaming of your Mike's Vegetarian pizza. "Mike's Veggie Delight Broccoli, roma tomatoes, green peppers, roasted garlic, kalamata olives, artichoke hearts, portabella mushrooms, feta, mozzarella, provolone and marinara" - via Kaleidoscope website. It was one of the best vegetarian pizzas I've ever had, it wasn't the simple green pepper, mushroom, olive and onion (do olives and onions really count as vegetables?!) The picture here is half "mount ashland" and half "enchilada" pizza. Crazy spicy enchilada if you get a jalapeno. Beer was amazing, great service and they sell tie dye t-shirts, get one!

Okay, you haven't had good pizza until you've been here. Saying "good" doesn't really do it justice anyway. Think "gourmet" pizza without the snooty vibe. The Avalanche pizza is AMAZING!!! Their soups are awesome too, as well as their salads and don't even get me started on the desert... (my mouth is watering...) Service is always wonderful, very attentive and accommodating. This is by far the place we crave more than any other since moving here 7 months ago.

I was born and raised in Chicago. I know pizza. I can make a great pizza. And there are not many pizza places on the west coast that I enjoy. But when I'm in Medford, Kaleidoscope is the place to visit. My kids love the pizza bread appetizer, and that usually is enough to satiate them. If we get the pizza bread and a pizza, there's a ton to take home. Salads are generous, and the dressings are fantastic. I really love this place.

Eat here every time we are in town. Service is great, very friendly and fast. The pizza is tied for 1st as my favorite all time. Pizza's are very large, medium listed as 14 inch seems a lot bigger and we always take some home in a doggy bag. We just love the decor. All the Grateful Dead posters and tie dye makes the place unique. Still full from our visit tonight.... Yum.

What's everybody raving about? OK the pizza is above average for the area, but that really isn't a very high benchmark. Compared to Ken's Artisan Pizza in Portland, this place is a far distant 4th cousin, once removed...... Good beer and wine selection, and for $8 corkage, you can bring your own special bottle. No 1.5 liter jugs wines now.......one must have a little decorum! The pizza is pretty good. Going to try this place again tonight, to see if it qualifies for a bump in the rating. Nice outdoor dining area, when the weather is right.

One of my family's favorite places in Medford. Breadsticks are awesome and staff is friendly. The owner often walks around and says hello...always a nice touch!

Great atmosphere very popular. We ordered a mixed salad - yummy and a Caesar salmon salad that was pretty good. The kids ordered pizzas which were fabulous. We will definitely come back on our trips to and from Washington. Prices are very reasonable.

I had the good fortune to get served Kaleidoscope Pizza at a business meeting last month and it was delicious! The next time I was in the neighborhood, I stopped in to order a take out. While I was waiting, I wandered around and looked at all the great art work. The atmosphere is really warm and family friendly. I can't wait to go back to eat there. The pizza and salads are great.

This pizza place has a great feel. Quite large, we sat outside. The pizza is awesome! Ordered the Popeye. Kids had the olive and cheese and pepperoni. Crush is to die for. Service was good as well. Nothing to complain about.

Family came to Kaleidoscope after seeing that it was voted Best Pizza in Medford for several years in a row, and we left the place delightfully filled with pizza goodness. The pizza crust is crisp and delicious and the marinara sauce is flavorful. Now don't be overwhelmed when you see the huge menu because so far everything we've tried was great! They have salads, calzones, breadstix, soup...even tortilla chips and hummus which I find kind of random....but we love the Margarita Pizza, the Roasted Garlic, the Mediterranean, the Proscuitto Blue and Avalanche pizzas. We've also tried the breadstix and they are incredibly tasty and big! I have yet to have a problem with the service. They have so far been very friendly and attentive and eager to make amends if they get a little part of an order wrong. My dad wanted a pizza without bell peppers and asked to have it baked with red pepper flakes instead, and when they got it wrong, someone came out and offered to bake a whole new pizza. My dad said he didn't mind the messed up one and didn't want them to go to the trouble, but at the end of the meal, we found out that they gave us the pizza free of charge! My favorite pizza on the West Coast with so many different pizza choices I have yet to try!! heh.. but seeing how often I go to this place when I'm up in Medford, that (along with my waistline) will soon change :)

Great atmosphere, excellent craft beer list with a Oregon focus, good pizza and salads. Service is always fair to good.

Good food, especially the sausage. The downside is it costs more than average and it gets very busy and loud in there. Also when we were trying to enjoy our pizza the table on the other side of the ailse kept taking photos with the flash on and I was getting temporarily blinded every few minutes. Definitely not the restaurants fault, but it was rude and begs the question, Why did they need to take so many pictures of a friggin pizza anyway?! Just eat the damn thing.

Our absolute favorite local pizza joint! Their pizza, beer and salads are amazing. Great service, fun atmosphere, and truly delicious food.

We Found this spot via yelp and decided to try it out due to the decent reviews. It was Friday night and very busy in the lobby, but we were immediately sat. It seems that a few large groups were waiting to be sat. The atmosphere is nice and comfortable, lots of tie dyed and Jerry Garcia decorations. The service was great! Lots of young attractive kids running around seating and serving customers. The pizza was great. We had a 1/2 lu-wow (Hawaiian) American best ( pep, sausage, mush). The crust was buttery and crispy and the toppings were plentiful and tasty. The marinara SAUce had a nice flavor. We ordered a medium which is any other pizza joints large. We also had the ranch salad to start, nothing special here. We would definitely eat here again while passing through Medford.

I think I eat Kaleidoscope more than my own house. Okay, thats an exaggeration, but it is really delicious. The staff is so friendly. My staple is the Buffalo Blue Chicken Salad, but I always make my boyfriend share a piece of his Avalanche pizza. Great local beer and wine selection.

I came all the way from CA to visit this place. The tangerine lost coast beer is very good and the chicken picante pizza is very tasty and spicy!

I actually do not care for the pizza, but the beer selection is great. What really makes this place though is the atmosphere and staff. Probably the best staff in town!

Kaleidoscope has the best salads, soups, and pizzas anywhere. We can't get enough of it. The only negative is that they are so popular, you sometimes have to wait for a table. Its worth the wait though. Great selection of Northwest beers and wines. Beautiful decor. A must for Grateful Dead fans.

Great pizza at decent prices. LOVE the cheesy bread and the spicy pepperoni pizza. Service is usually very good. Only problem I've ever had with this place is when the waitress charged another (large) party's table to my card. Her manager paid me back in cash for the accident. A week or two later I got a call from them saying I should come down to the restaurant and pick up a gift card for my troubles. Whats funny is that a day or two later I got a message on my phone from the same woman asking for me to come back and give it back because I had already been reimbursed. Who does that!? For this reason alone I am docking 1 star. Oh, and make sure if you bring a friend or family to try and 'convert' them from their favorite pizza place, to have them order a 'normal' pizza. I brought my family and they all ordered strange blue cheese or sandwich-themed pizzas and they didn't like it... I keep telling them to just try it again but they won't!

As described. Excellent pizza. Wide range of topping blends from traditional to exotic, Chelsea C was a fantastic server- positive, good advice, appropriately attentive. For baked upon order pizza was fast. Great beer selection on tap. Our new stopping place when running through Medford on I-5

I can't understand why Kaleidoscope Pizza gets top votes every year. The pizza is OK, nothing special at all. Perhaps the draw is the "pub" part of it, the sports bar portion? The decor is gimmicky, like they are trying too hard to be "hip" as in "hippy."

I like this place a lot due to the atmosphere, service, and options. That being said I don't think the pizza is THAT great but it is very good. What I like is that their salad options are not just some lettuce leaves, huge pieces of tomato and drowning in dressing but that are damn good salads..great even. I also wish they took reservations as the first night my husband and I were visiting my in-laws the wait was like an hour on a Wednesday night at SIX and we had a six year old with us (frankly I also would have tantrummed if we had to wait that long). We ended up having to go to Outback Steakhouse, which should actually knock another star off this review ha ha.

Went here with my family while I was visiting Oregon. I loved the building. Great lighting, Grateful Dead memorabilia, and a really great bar.Great salads. The pizza definitely wasn't the best I have had but it was good, and they made good left overs later. All of the employees were cool and eclectic.

If I lived in Medford, I would drag everyone I know to this place. The ambiance is very cool. It is not at all like your average pizza parlor with plastic tables and chairs and fountain sodas you get yourself. This is very much a sit down and enjoy the atmosphere and your conversation type of restaurant. The hub and I sat in a booth, very comfy. The menu has a fair number of veggie pizzas. Yay! I'm not a vegetarian, but I do not enjoy meat as much as your average person, so I go without it it as often as possible. Hey, more for the hubby or you! We had the Table Rock and one other with a name that escapes me at the moment... I think the Table Rock is the one with artichoke and roasted garlic. Oh so freaking delicious! We went with our server, Sarah's recommendation to have the whole wheat crust. I like the flavor of wheat, so I really enjoyed the switch. But if you don't like wheat, don't order it. We also had the cheesy bread with house sauce and ranch, total fan of the house sauce. It's a mixture of their marinara sauce and pesto sauce. The other pizza we had was topped with spinach and roasted red peppers. It was good, but the artichoke and garlic selection was the clear favorite. As I've previously professed, I love garlic. The service was awesome. Sarah was very helpful and made suggestions when we had questions. Prices were just. It's good stuff, so I'm less critical when my meal makes me smile when I think back to it. Thumbs up, Kaleidoscope Pizzaria! Thank you for a delicious pie.

This place had good pizza and everyone was very friendly. Just beware that if you order the mozzarella breadsticks you will get what looks like a cheese pizza sliced into strips that can feed at least 4. It was all very yummy. :)

This place makes some of the best pizza I have ever had! After eating here more than a few times I can honestly say I have never had a bad experience. I wouldn't expect a place like this in Medford, but I am sure glad that we have Kaleidoscope!

Great atmoshpere, not big on pizza places, but you just kind of get drawn in. Good tasting pies with an A for the crust. Good beer selection, friendly workers. Would stop here again

Found this place on google maps while on our way back from California. Holly F*^#! was this place good. Great combinations, some super fresh ingredients, awesome sauce variations, huge slices and a crust to die for. Normally my wife doesn't eat all that much but she scarfed down two slices, crust and all. We tried the Baja Picante and the Mt. Ashland and both were superb. Service was awesome but we were there at 3pm so no dinner crowd yet but I hear this place is packed every night for dinner (imagine that) We may have to find more reasons to drive through Medford just for some Kaliedoscope pizza

I like as many ingredients on my pizza as possible and these people dish it up right. The Mt. Ashland is amazing however I order it with red sauce and add pineapple and peperoncinis. The service is great and they have a nice selection of beer. I definitely recommend this place to anyone

We eat here every time we are in town. It's the best and only pizza place we'll even consider eating at in Southern Oregon. Positives: They have whole wheat crust available. Toppings are fresh, and there is always plenty of tomato sauce. Place is clean, service is good and fast, and the slices are quite large. Negatives: They can get very busy. Try going exactly at 11am when they open, otherwise go at an odd time (3pm, etc.). Lines can get long.

Wow! Incredible. I love the atmosphere. The servers seem upbeat and friendly. The pizza is incredible with a thin, crispy, chewy, buttery crust. We got a giant "Popye" with fresh spinach, feta, roasted red peppers, garlic. Yum. Also, the "side" salad is HUGE and when you order the Caesar with smoked Salmon you not be disappointed. Every time I visit I feel satisfied and happy.

If I'm not at a genuine Italian pizza place in Chicago or NY, then I'm at this place. This is pizza Pacific Northwest style--local ingredients and local beer. The salads are amazing. Too bad I'm not down there more often, so I can get a slice and a salad more often. Totally miss this place.

Great pizza, good selection of microbrew beers and a fun atmosphere. Their salads are huge one can feed 2-3 people. Owners and staff are friendly and the service is attentive.

For a pizza place I'd give them 4 stars, but the apathetic service gave them a 1 star downgrade for me. I realize there are probably several servers that would have been better than this guy who had either fried his brain on who knows what or not slept in days. Their pizzas were very unique and a big selection. I would also like to see a few sandwiches on the menu. It was a good "trip"
