It's good, fast burritos and tacos. You cannot expect great Mexican or tex mexish food in this part of the country. I mean, you're on the ocean, so for a family it was a reasonable lunch stop in. There was a line the whole time we were there. Good customer service, order at the counter.

Not impressed. Taco salad was bland and not how I ordered it. Taco shell was cheap, stale, and not edible. Don't like to complain, so I just ate the salad part anyway. Half way through I bit into a cluster of taco seasoning salt and about gagged. It wasn't even a flavor of anything in my salad. Had to spit into a napkin and that was the last straw. Done! The outdoor seating is adorable and inviting, and the patio was full. So misleading. After reading Yelp reviews, I wish we wouldn't have stopped.

The taco salad was terrible! The food was cold, and the shell was inedible. While I was there I watched 2 people take their food back to get it reheated and or changed to the correct order. Lastly, as we were finishing eating one of the staff members came up to my friend and I and let us know very rudely we could not eat in the restaurant if we got our food "to go." As I understand this is a standard policy when we ordered it was very busy and I knew I would have to ask for a to-go box eventually and I was trying to save them time. There were over 8 tables open at the time. I would gladly accept this policy if there were people waiting for a seat but by that time there was no one in line and only 2 other families eating with plenty of open tables. It didn't make a difference if we stayed or not. P.S. the food was so bad I just threw it away and didn't even eat half of it.

Best Mexican food on the coast if not in Oregon. Had the big burrito with beef and the shredded beef had a ton of flavor. Had a smothered burrito with green sauce done healthy with lime-tequila chicken, black beans and no cheese and it was healthy and still super flavorful. The salsa is fantastic and the guac, while very basic was delicious. The patio is a great spot to eat, drink a cold Corona and people watch. We go here every time we're in Manzanita and we'll keep coming back.

Good and cheap. Enjoyed our big burritos and wet burritos very much. The guac was a little disappointing, but in the end, 5 with dinner and drinks for $50 ... Can't be beat. Consider sharing ... The big burritos are, well ... Big!

Maybe as a "healthy alternative" to the standard fare (always a phrase that I look at carefully), otherwise I was not impressed. The line to order meanders and you do have to schlep it back to a counter next to this to pick up your grub. It was a rather vague place to locate. The mole was flat tasting rather than dimensional. The ingredients also did not stand out. There are not many times I will not finish a meal, but after we had filled up enough to kill hunger, we left and left a good amount of our meal. I get that they are not trying for "authentic", whatever that means. That said, I have had food such as this that wasn't as punishing. We found the cuisine here to be unpleasant. Sometimes this is that the kitchen is having a bad day; I got the impression that this was how the food was designed to taste. The ingredients were fresh, they were just abused. Ish. Sometimes I go into a place that is recommended on Yelp that I have disagreed with. This would be an example of this. I would not go in again. Manzanita has so much more to offer. Not recommended in my book, sorry.

AN ABSOLUTE MUST. This is my favorite place for a burrito and it will forever be this way. I've been going here for years, it's my first stop whenever I get to manzanita. Extremely fair prices and if you order the wet burrito you'll get more then what you bargained for. It's amazing. And easily will give you a late night snack. (Or another meal in my case).... They are a little old school with ordering and numbers, seat yourself, clean up after yourself, get your own water... Big deal. It's amazing fresh food and that's what I love, & my whole family.

Tasty, healthy Mexican-inspired food. Whole wheat tortilla options. Priced well (8-12$ per person). Nice big patio out front to enjoy your tasty meal.

We sat outside on the patio and had dinner with our exhausted dogs which we greatly appreciated! Thanks for being so relaxed about that. The food was good, I enjoyed the sunflower seeds on my fresh tasting chicken taco salad, and my husband's huge wet burrito in red sauce was mild but tasty. They have a good selection of hot sauce in side if you want something hotter.

  • Ande S.

The spicy chicken is good, the tequila lime is bland. Enchiladas were so so, but the tacos and guacamole were great. Huge crispy tacos. I would have liked smaller size options for kids though.

Left Coast Siesta just may be our new go-to dinner spot in Manzanita. We wandered in this past weekend when our usual haunt was packed to the gills and our second choice was closed, despite having 3 open signs displayed. We almost didn't stay upon seeing that there was no wait, suspicious that we could so easily get a table at dinnertime on a busy Saturday night. We took the chance and were pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere was comfortable; not too fancy and just what we were looking for. You order at the counter, a process that is not brief due to so many options available. A standout item for me was the offer of chipotle sour cream. Why had I never thought of this before? I resolved to eat this condiment on anything I can get away with from now on. Brilliant. The Mexican-inspired fare was prepared fresh, tasted homemade and healthy "in a good way." My guy ordered a beef burrito which was humongous, and required a knife and fork to manage. He kept saying that he had to stop eating, then cutting off 'just one more bite" until he finally polished it off (this was followed by one of those I Can't Believe I Ate the Whole Thing moments and a subsequent nap). I ordered a tequila lime chicken enchilada and a spicy shredded beef crunchy taco, which I'd describe as hurts-so-good hot. Both hit the spot without putting me in a food coma. I was intrigued by the sprinkling of sunflower seeds on my enchilada, which turned out to be tasty and added a nice texture. Another brilliant idea. Note to those yelpers who mentioned bland food, did you see the amazing selection of hot sauces available? Grab a sauce, dress it up, and make it your own! Wash it all down with a DRY soda or one of the many Mexican and domestic bottled beers. With so many great choices here, fair prices and no line to get a seat, you really can't go wrong.

Big Burrito. It is the best burrito ever. Don't get it wet the sauce takes away from all the flavors. Get the hot salsa if you can handle hot. It's best with chicken. Neat little place. Can be crowded at times.

Cute place with some outdoor seating and locals feeling! It was not marked well that it is counter service only but you quickly figure it out. No margaritas here, though. The main draw here is HUGE portions, but I only felt the food to be ok and did not care for the guac at all here! The food is made fresh and so much so that the cheese is not melted on to the tacos or burritos. Their portions are So huge we had plenty left over, note that to-go may be the way to go here as the food heated up very well, I enjoyed it more as it was hot and cheese melted this time!! The lime chicken is a nice touch to a burrito. I'll try them again but only to-go!

Amazing burrito. Had the red sauce, great mission style beach burritos. Fresh, lots of organic ingredients with vegan and vegetarian option. The price is right, friendly staff, and great views of the ocean and nearby landscape.

I have to say I was pretty astonished that Left Coast was given less than four stars - I wish I could review this joint a dozen times to bring the overall grade up where it should be. To the folks shooting out 1-3 stars because it wasn't "authentic Mexican" - news flash, you are on the northwestern COAST of the United States. Were you really that surprised?! Go order seafood somewhere, smirk sip your martini at your resort hotel and quit your bickering. This place has one thing you need to know about. The burritos. Taco salad people should just return to Beaverton and skip the idea of coastal Mexican. They are large in volume and relatively low in price. Besides maybe the San Dune pub and a few items from the Big Wave, you won't find better food in Manzanita. Lastly, remember you are at the coast- the place is a ghost town half the year and heavy business is as unpredictable as catching a lucky sunny weekend here. It's a nice yet little hole in the wall place with minimal, younger staff. Don't expect to be wowed by the young girl taking your order to dazzle you with her breakdown of what's in the red sauce or how they prepare their pork. Just acknowledge the price and weigh it against the value and carry on. It's fire. Go.

Don't overlook the enchiladas, Xmas style. I was curious to see how the food would rate after all the mixed reviews on yelp. For what this place is - an inexpensive burrito/taco joint - it is great. I got the wet burrito, Christmas style. The tequila lime chicken was made of delicious marinated white meat. My daughters burrito had a "pulled" spicy chicken. The beef enchiladas, Christmas style was the favorite dish. We all preferred the green sauce to the red. Friendly service, lots of regulars. The chips and guacamole are ho hum - seemingly store bought. I would skip those calories in the future. But overall an excellent lunch in a pleasant setting. Worth the drive from cannon beach.

It was my friends birthday and we went cause she is a vegetarian. We ordered the guacamole, med salsa and chips. The guacamole and salsa was so sour it was unedible. Seemed maybe rotten cause of the sourness. It's not hard to make guacamole. My friend ordered two veggie taco's and it she said it was bad and outright tossed one of them in the garbage. Mind you that she is not at all picky. We were hungry and did not want to waste our food. I ordered the spicy chicken burrito with rice. The cheese and chicken were cold inside. The cheese was not melted. The ingredients were tasteless. My friend had a stomach ache the rest of the night. I ate enough to feel full. I suggest some tweaking in the ingredients to make the food taste good! Mexican food should not be hard. Mediocre is expected on the coast but just bad is not!

This place is 4 stars all day. It's exactly what you're looking for in a wet burrito. Quality ingredients however you want them with organic options. Do a Burrito, Enchilada or a Bowl full of dankness. I especially appreciate their large array of hot sauces. Some very hot, and unique sauces. They also have tasty guacamole. Left coast is the best coast.

First time at this place and it was incredible. They forgot the guacamole in my naked burrito however. Regardless, I will def go back to this place.

I felt the salsa was good, the guacamole was so-so. the big burritos were BIG! good prices. I didn't enjoy the sesame seeds in the food. The tortillas were like grocery store quality, the favors were pretty good. They serve Pepsi & I am never a fan of that! my daughter had an enchilada she wasn't crazy about. My son had a quesadilla that had way too much cheese for our liking. cute atmosphere, friendly & fast service.

This is my favorite healthy Mexican place on the coast! They serve organic and health conscious foods. Light and flavorful! I come at least once a month from Portland to have their delicious taco salad or burritos! Their medium salsa is amazing! Their HOT is HOT!!! So unless you like a flame thrower, stick with the mild or medium! Freshness is key! I have never had brown lettuce or anything that has given me the "day-old" impression. Very fresh, friendly young staff and just a great place for a quick affordable bite!!! I highly recommend this place as it puts most other beach restaurants to shame with their affordability and freshness. The only item I've had here that I didn't care for was the guacamole. Everything else is a must try ;-)

Nice place to stop for a bite to eat after doing the Neahkahnie Hike on the Oregon coast. They have an interesting selection of Burritos, Tacos and Enchiladas, would give them 3.5 stars for their food (Yelp.. half star ratings are needed :P)

Cool place for your healthy Americanized Mexican food. Second time here and cant complain. Try their hottest sauce. It will surely do the trick for the heat scale. Habenero and serrano hot sauce. Yum! This place is one of the good food spots in Manzanita. At least is doesn't break the bank like everything else around here.

Lucky us to have moved to where LCS is our takeout of choice! The food here is delicious and high quality. Lots of different hot sauces and excellent choice of beverages. Nice when you can sit out front and see Manzanita stroll before you. I love the wet burrito with green sauce; if not too hungry I stretch it to two meals. Tacos are wonderful. Salsas are flavorful. Eat here!

Although not authentic Mexican food, I always enjoy coming here. The food is fast and healthy. There is something for everyone, vegetarians, meat-eaters and children, and it is easy to get your food made to your specifications (you can choose everything from type of tortilla, to fillings to salsa). The servings are generous and many items are organic. Unfortunately, it is very popular and the line are quite long, so I recommend calling your order in and taking the food or for a picnic. If you luckly and get there when they aren't busy, the deck is a fabulous place to eat. We generally order burritos, big for us adults and small for the kids. The three color chips are fun. The salsas are fresh and flavorful (we stick with mild and medium), but I would avoid the guacamole since they add too much lemon. Definitely kid-friendly

This is our favorite place to eat in Manzanita. Over a weekend we will often eat here 1 or 3 times. The food is fresh, healthy and very yummy. Try the wet burrito it's my favorite! Incredible array of hot sauces, too hot for Me but I like reading the names.

The food came out quickly, the girl behind the counter was nice, the food was ok. My husband who doesn't complain about his food did not like his salad. He said his salad seemed wet without much flavor. My kids had beans and rice and neither of them ate it. We got the guacamole and there was a huge chunk of non eatable avocado in it so we asked the person who brought our food if we could get another guacamole and he said it was just a chunk of avocado and walked away. I liked the pink frozen lemonade although it was mostly ice. And I liked the enchiladas with red sauce (husband did not) and would go back for them but was told I would have to pay extra for half red, half green sauce....Be there before the close sign goes up as I saw them flip the sign over as they looked at a customer walking up about 10 feet from the door at 7:59.

Worth the drive from Bend. We eat here daily when we're in town. Yummy burritos, happily customized as needed, with great blend of flavors and homemade salsa. Sunflower seeds, olives, onions, sour cream....drooling!

  • Clay H.

Something is just not quite right about this place. The guacamole didn't taste fresh and the salsa didn't give me a fresh feeling either. I am wondering if they add some flavors to cover up a lack of fat? You know that healthy and tasteless tend to go together. My taco salad was fine, but nothing to write home about. My gf's wet burrito was way too big and she threw most of it out. Offering a smaller portion would be a good idea.

  • Rick B.

I ordered a couple tacos with the spicy beef, one hard and one soft. I am a pretty mild spice person and this is just about right for me. It was shredded beef and really tasted good. Pretty good price and very filling. I ordered guacamole also and it had a very strong lime taste to it, too much lime juice added. Other than that the food was very good. Seems to be a pretty crowded place sometimes, but every time I have been there has been on a holiday weekend. I had a party of six so we sat indoors as there wasn't enough seating outdoors, being crowded as it was. The service was quick and friendly. The decor of the restaurant was nice also.

From the looks of the menu this place had no idea where Mexico is or what cuisine our neighbors to the south really eat. DO YOUR RESEARCH, if your going to get inventive please make it better. Anyhow this is all beside the point. Our experience first started out as we are hungry and lets go eat, as we approached the restaurant there was a healthy line out front so we decided to go inside and line up. As we entered the restaurant one of the staff turned the sign from open to close after we walked in the door. We started to look at the menu confused on what to eat or what was even good here to eat (refer to first part of the review) about 8-10 min later one of the staff members from the back yelled out to the people in the line "EVERYONE! after this person here, she pointed, (the person right in front of us minus the 7 people behind us) we are not serving anymore as we told you we were CLOSED ALREADY" Which we responded, no one told us it was closed and how did you decide who made the cut or not. She began to argue with us that she checked the line a while ago and that's how she knew, and besides she said we don't even have enough food in the back to make something for you to eat anyways. BLAH BLAH BLAH. So some of us left the group me and my friend decided to stay. A few min later another staff member came out and said we are not going to serve you because when you walked in we were already closed. To which we explained that we were inside before the put the CLOSED sign out. ECT, ECT. This can all be discussed, argued which way and that but the point is THIS IS A BUSINESS ITS RUDE TO TELL YOUR CUSTOMERS TO LEAVE THAT ARE ALREADY IN YOUR ESTABLISHMENT. WHAT?? YOU DONT WANT TO MAKE MONEY? JUST SERVE THE PEOPLE THAT ARE IN LINE AND THEN CLOSE. I GET IT ITS A SMALL TOWN AND YOUR THE ONLY PLACE FOR MILES BUT THAT DOES NOT MEAN YOU CAN TALK AND TREAT CUSTOMERS LIKE THIS. To the owners, who I am sure we did not speak to, maybe if you were around and not have teenagers and inexperienced staff that are just "working for the summer" you could avoid this. From the looks of it, you were celebrating your anniversary. Be grateful you made it this long with this type of customer service, Times change and people remember. The internet is a great place for others to hear feeback from all over the world. Long gone are the days of face to face word of mouth recommendations and we will not see them again type of attitude. The internet age is here, the individual voice now has a platform. Every customer counts, every connection counts. Reputation is everything.

Sauces are very bland and whatever flavor they did have was not enjoyable or Mexican. Prices are cheap, thankfully. Taco Bell blows this place out of the water, and I don't mean that as a compliment. Huge disappointment. We will never be back.

Great food. Manzanita is not know for its cuisine but this is great food at a good price. I've had a house in town for the last ten years and always make a point to stop by when I'm here

Super Busy. Which means the food is fresh. But honestly its just ordinary burritos and tacos. Nothing to write about. If you are at the oregon coast and have a craving for mexican, then this is the place to go.

  • Amy L.

I have been frequenting this restaurant since they first opened in that tiny space next door to the current spot. I love their wet burritos. The tequila lime chicken is amazing! Great prices for the amount of food you get! I have never been disappointed and I have probably been there over 200 times!

  • Emily V.

The fact that a restaurant like this can even be called "Mexican" offends me. This food is nothing like real Mexican food. That aside, even for someone who has never had Mexican food (and I assume the owners or chefs of this restaurant have not), this food is quite sad. The enchiladas are tiny, and drowned in an unappealing red sauce that I'd like to think came from a can, except that I have had red sauces from cans and none were quite as gross as this one. The guacamole had too much salt and too much lime to the point where I couldn't even tell that it was made from avocados. Accompanying this bad food was equally bad service. The girl at the front counter was astoundingly unfriendly, and, as it turns out, not super talented at writing down orders (her job). This became apparent when all four of our meals were prepared incorrectly, and a server tried to convince me that I had said "everything but sour cream" instead of "everything but olives." In what world would I ever want chicken enchiladas to have black olives on top of them? And while I don't usually comment on this aspect of restaurants, I feel that I must say something about the wastefulness of Left Coast. All to-stay orders are served on paper plates, and all water is served in paper cups. There is no recycle bin for the plates and cups, nor is there a compost bin. It frightens me to think that a restaurant that has no business existing in the first place can create such a negative impact on the environment, in addition to its negative impact on the culinary world in general!

**Disclaimer: I'm writing this review given certain expectations of this restaurant. We already read it to not be authentic Mexican so we won't be judging it based on its authenticity but rather on taste and service. Overall: Pretty good food and very generous portions. Prices are quite fair for the amount of food given. I ordered 2 hard corn shell spicy beef tacos with black beans and all the trimmings because I'm not a fan of olives. I was surprised to see sunflower seeds on the menu but decided to give it a try. I think in reality they're more like pine nuts. Otherwise the taco was pretty good. It was massive and I could have done with just one. It did get soggy quick and was overfilled so it was very messy to eat. Just enough spice and I ordered mild. Hubby ordered the taco salad with spicy beef and all the trimmings. I didn't try his but he said it tasted more like leftover stew than salad because there was more other stuff than salad greens (lettuce). He ordered hot and sort of regretted as it was a bit beyond his threshold. Service was friendly and helpful. Decor was interesting as it had hot sauce bottles spanning across the walls and pinatas hanging here and there.

We stopped here for lunch - burrito was good and everything was ok. Would like to see more recycling and composting but food was good and healthy, and it was good value. It is pretty much help yourself and self bus your table, but I still left a tip for the kids. I'd come again, we are foodies and considered it good, but nothing too unique.

Holy smokes! Hot buns at the beach is right! Steer away if you are looking for authentic Mexican, but stay around if you love heat & want good fresh food. We both got taco salads with tequila lime chicken, black beans, and hot salsa. She warned us hot means hot, but my bf & I were way to macho to listen. They arrived covered in a thick green salsa and sunflower seeds. (See pics.) We had carefully selected 3 hot sauces from the array to try. Hot buns at the beach, one of Dave's hot sauces, and Hot N Horny. The salsa was hot with the first bite and trust me it really only is hotter from there. We tried each of the hot sauces saying "Oh that wasn't THAT bad" after each try. (At the end we admitted we really couldn't taste anything after probably the 3rd bite.) It was soo satisfying and tear-inducing. We drove back feeling drunk because our whole bodies were warm with chiles. The next day our stomachs were pretty angry as we did a morning stroll on the beach. Soo unromantic.

What I like about Left Coast Siesta is that you "build your own" tacos, burritos, or taco salads. You get to put what you want on it. For vegans going through town, it's a life saver... not only that, you get your food dairy free, and they throw in guacamole for free, which makes sense and is fair (a lot of places don't do that). What I don't like about Left Coast Siesta is the salt content. The guacamole was so salty, that it didn't even taste like guacamole. On top of the salty rice, beans, and salsa, it's a mouth puckering experience. Come on Left Coast Siesta, you can do it!

Actually more of a 3.5 star review, but considering the competition in the Cannon Beach area for Mexican food, a 4 star may be more appropriate than a 3. The burritos are decent mission style fare. The salsa is decent. The hot sauce selection can be pretty good. My friends and I have eaten here many times over multiple years and it is consistent, and relatively affordable (again, considering the area). If only they would use some better greens (e.g., Romaine), than the iceberg-ish stuff they use currently, I would make the 3.5 a 4 probably. As it is, the vegetable options are a bit limited, unfortunately.

    (4)
  • Hannah B.

I would give Left Coast 3.5 if possible, but don't want to sell them short by giving a 3 star rating. FIRSTLY, Do Not go in expecting authentic Mexican food or close to. Do Not go in expecting Tex Mex. Left Coast has their own variety of Mexican/Tex Mex inspired fare. I have been to Mexico twice, I've eaten great Mexican food in California and given it a go in AZ and even tried 'Mexican' on the east coast. Left Coast is their own variety. I affectionately refer to it as "Hippy Burrito". I like the added texture of the sunflower seeds in my burrito, the olives don't offend me and the hot sauce selection is nice. I will agree that at times the guacamole has been overly salty and the enchiladas are my least favourite, but other than that this place has been consistent over the last 8 or so years I've visited. After a long walk on the beach with the dog, a big burrito in a spinach tortilla with spicy chicken is more than welcome! I will continue to visit as long as my family has a vacation home in Mazanita or as long as Left Coast is around!

Everything tastes better after a day on an Oregon beach. What I liked about this place - great food, cold beer, perfect for the fussy eater as they custom make everything for you. Things I did not like - you have to line up for some time when it is busy to order food so we chose to have an appetizer and beers which meant we had to line up again for our actual dinner. Also, the place was really full and it is not easy to find a table, it's noisy and very casual. All in all, we would go back next time in Manzanita.

    (4)
  • Jen M.

Build your own burrito concept. Look on the whiteboard and decide what you want. The girl behind the counter will take down your order on a dry erase board and hand it over to the dude in the back. I opted for the wet burrito with spicy chicken, refried beans, and all the trimmings. This place has every hot sauce imaginable for you to douse your man-sized burrito in. Warning: their "hot"salsa is simply chopped up habanero peppers. You have been warned. Decent food, not great.

  • Christine B.

We ate here twice. Kiddo loved the quesadillas. First night husband and I ordered dishes with the tequila lime chicken. It was dry and somewhat tasteless. Ordered the spicy chicken the second visit. Much, much better. The verde sauce is awesome! And they graciously let me order the taco salad sans tortilla bowl. Good little place. Affordable. Medium salsa delish but garlicky.

  • Kimmy K.

This place has the blandest Mexican food I've ever eaten. Everything tastes the same. No wonder they have a huge table of hot sauces, so you can try to give your food at least a little bit of flavor. Skip this place, it's not worth it.

Healthy food at a good price with super generous portions works for me. The sunflower seeds were a surprise as were some of the other ingredients, but it's good grub and I got my daily dose of vegetables.

Every time I go to Manzanita, the thing I look forward to most is having dinner at Left Coast Siesta! This is by far my favorite restaurant, and the food has always been exceptional. The people who work here are very friendly and nice. The pink lemonade slushies are absolutely delicious, and the chips are probably the best tortilla chips I have ever tasted. I would highly recommend stopping here for food, you not only get amazing food with great quality, but it is VERY inexpensive. The chicken that they use has no chewy parts, and is AWESOME. You will not regret eating here! They even have free wifi!

  • Hugh S.

The beauty of this place is 1) quality ingredients 2) friendly staff 3) simple menu 4) great beverages 5) outside seating on the deck 6) amazing hot sauce sampling station. This is not really a "Mexican Restaurant" in the classic sense but more of a beach cafe Mexican style. You can mix and match ingredients and create the dishes the way you want them. The hot salsa is HOT! I have never had a bad meal here. The only bad thing is during the busy summer months, there can be quite a line to get in and order.

Now, I'm not giving this place a five star review (as is obvious from the pretty little symbols above my review). However, as it was the best food I had in Manzanita all weekend, I feel the need to defend the place against the haters. Here we go: *The food does not have a "blandess". *The tequila-lime chicken was very flavorful and yes, the hot sauce is HOT. It's "HOT" sauce. *Yes, there may be some flavor that could be added to the food, but that's why they give you a hundred sauces to choose from. Add the one that you like best. It's not a difficult concept. *If you have a burrito that's cold inside, maybe it's a mistake. Ask them to fix it and they probably will. There are other nice "thinks" about this place than the patio. *We had Tapatio sauce when we were there. Maybe they've added it. Maybe someone else had it in their possession the last time you were there. *If you don't want sunflower seeds in your burrito, tell them so. The menu couldn't be more clear in outlining your options. I don't like sunflower seeds, but I didn't give this place a one star review because I don't like them in my burrito, I recognized that others would probably see it as a fresh idea on an old concept. (Complaining about something a place offers is not the basis of a one star review. This spurred this annoying list of what's wrong with these reviews. This type of complaint makes me very, very mad.) Save your pretentious disdain for those that haven't travelled to California or Mexico for your friends, don't insult the locals. I've travelled quite a bit, AND I've had authentic Mexican food. Recognize when something is a spin on the original, not meant to be authentic. *They don't put sour cream on top of your burrito unless you ask for it. *I'll skip the perfectly acceptable 2-star review. *Sounds like someone has a digestive tract problem. *I think someone doesn't quite understand the purpose of a "BOYCOT". Enough of that. If you EVER see a review from me that is flat out wrong or focused on my own personal preference rather than the actual restaurant itself, please call me out on it. I will gladly fix it. I am reminded almost every time I go to the beach (with a few exceptions) that the best food I have is never at a seafood restaurant, no matter how hard I try. I don't know why it is, but maybe I'll remember this the next time. Left Coast Siesta was reasonable, pretty tasty and the staff was very friendly. Sure, it was 110 inside, but I got to go outside after ordering, the staff didn't. At least not for long. And yet, they were still very friendly and patient with the hordes of ordering customers. There were more people at this restaurant than have reviewed in here. That has to say something. It's clearly popular . . . for good reason.

We had dinner here last Saturday, and as always, it was delicious! We never go wrong when we eat here! The tequila lime chicken is the best! And almost always get a taco salad while hubby gets two crunchy tacos with spicy chicken. We both leave happy and full!

Maybe 2.5. I'm rounding up based on the fact that you get a lot of boring, bland Mexican food for your money.

Stopped here after a ladies hike at Neahkahnie Mountain on the recommendation of a friend. Maybe it was the warm afternoon air...or the fact that I hadn't eaten since 7am and had been trying to keep up with a 7-year-old the entire hike, but I really enjoyed my burrito here. They have a very large menu selection (including, but not limited to burritos) and offer a wide variety of burrito toppings that you can add or subtract from your order. I, personally, really enjoyed the sunflower seeds. I got the tequila lime chicken burrito with black beans. Mmmmm....sooooo good. AND they offer so many hot sauces your head will spin. My palate is not made for spicy things, but every now and again, I like a tiny kick to my meals (e.g. one drop of sriracha sauce per large bite of burrito=perfection!). Plus, they offer a number of drinks, one of which was my favorite Izze Clementine Natural Soda. Keep 'em comin'... The service was expeditious and staff was quite friendly. I will definitely go back next time I make a trip to Manzanita.

This is 'fast food' at it's best! FRESH and fabulous Tex-Mex at a terrific price! Burritos are literally the size of your head, amazing enchiladas, super guacamole... And no skimping on the toppings. We eat here at least once a week, and have never been disappointed. Thank you Lynn & crew for always coming through for us!

Simple menu prepared well. Our enchiladas had chi breast, which was a surprise.

Boring, bland white people "Mexican food". Not awesome. Salty and garlicky, but not much else. It didn't make me sick or anything-- but I haven't been back in a couple of years. I tried several times, before my husband and I finally looked at each other and said, "why do we keep doing this to ourselves?" I was not impressed by the hot sauce. Positives- it's a really cute place and their portions are generous. Inexpensive.

wish I could bring this place back to the Portland area, but maybe it's a good thing that it's in Manzanita because I'd probably want to eat here every day. we came here for a quick dinner on our first night in town. ordered at the counter and the person taking our order was kind and patient while we tried to decide what we wanted. the menu is pretty simple, but with a variety of different food/flavor combination from which to choose. I ordered a salad with shredded beef and black beans with a combo of hot/medium salsa. the only mistake I made with my order was asking for no cheese. I needed something to balance the heat of the salsa (can't imagine getting only the hot). in all honesty, I wanted to come back here the next night for dinner too, but the others in my party wanted to branch out. looking forward to coming back here the next time I'm in town.

Great flavors with a unique twist. Sunflower seeds on the tacos are good. Habanero heat is legit. Not a platter house, best for lunch. Could use table side mariachi bands and an hourly piñata bash. Don't confuse the hot sauce bar with a fresh salsa bar. Burritos = head sized.

this is not supposed to be authentic mexican food. it's a coastal burrito place that puts it's spin on the food. i love this place! cute, outdoor seating, quick ordering and very yummy, FRESH food. we always go here when we are anywhere on the oregon coast.

We love their food so much that we sometimes buy extra to take home. Highly recommend Tequilla lime chicken in a "wet" burrito or spicy beef in corn tortilla enchiladas. Everything delicious, fresh, healthy.

Jeff favorite burrito; black beans, rice, red sauce.

Great vegetarian options, including veggie refried beans (the way they're supposed to be!) They've got a nice little selection of beers and "good" sodas to go with your meal. As for the meals, get a burrito if you want to be stuffed to the gills. I get sick every time I eat here but it's only because the food's so good I eat way too much. Go for an enchilada if you want a little less. The patio is nice too, but this place gets pretty busy so you might get stuck inside.

Nearly inedible "Mexican" food prepared by folks who have clearly never had Mexican food (sunflower seeds do not belong in Mexican food.) Do not mistake the bottles of brightly colored hot sauce for authenticity. Perhaps this faux-ethnic spot is acceptable for locals but for anyone who's traveled beyond the Oregon coast to far-flung spots like California or even *gasp* Mexico eating here would be a travesty. They do, however, have a better than decent selection of beers including Mirror Pond.

Serious mexican food. If your looking for Tex-Mex this is not the place... they serve food just the way they do down south... without the dust blowing into your food... Portions are more than generous... and the spices they use are to die for... and they are more than willing to cut back or add more in my case... They had about 7 kinds of meats when I was in! Wow! Cost is very reasonable... I felt like I was underpaying for my food...hence the great tip!!! Family Cozy Good Eats!

Healthy Mexican. Love this place! We go here at least twice a week when we are at the beach. Favorite of our friends & family too. I get vegetarian (rice & black bean) crispy tacos. They are huge and delicious! Love the crunchy sunflower seeds and the fresh guacamole that I order as a side. Tomatoes and lettuce are nice and fresh too. Plenty of food! I can usually fill up on 1 taco but order two for left overs.

Not authentic but darn tasty Mexican inspired food. Maybe even as much New Mexican. Enchiladas had a good bite and the meat had a deep rich flavor--I can tell it was slowly and carefully cooked. The red enchilada sauce was outstanding. I liked that the order was taken on a plastic wipe-clean order sheet--never saw that before--the whole process was completely paperless, very green! *applause*

In the past we were in Manzanita frequently and would always have a meal at Left Coast. It has been several years now and we hoped that our favorite place in town would still be open. It did not disappoint. Our usual consists of the hard shell tacos with spicy chicken and medium sauce or the wet burrito, spicy chicken, and hot sauce. (No it is not as hot as they try to make it out.) It is delightful to sit on the deck and enjoy the people watching. The numerous bottled hot sauce choices you have allow you to spice it up as much as you would like. Add an order of chips, guacamole, and salsa to really fill you up. Keep up the great work!

Read Daniel B's review because as he accurately states, this isn't your normal Mexican food...this is a healthy version of it. If you go into it expecting this, you won't be disappointed. Prices are VERY reasonable (we fed 7 people for under $40) and were able to sit outside and soak up a bit of the early April sunshine. JP and I split a wet burrito with spicy chicken and black beans. Had two orders of chips and salsa for the table (was actually impressed with the mild salsa with it's large chunks of tomatoes and cucumbers). They also offer a selection of beers in their cooler. You order inside and then a server brings out your order when it's ready. HUGE selection of hot sauces to select from inside plus some self-serve water. Everyone seemed to want a bit more of salt in their dishes...but remember...this is healthy!

Everyone who gives this place a one star is crazy. The burritos are delicious and can be especially spicy. While their service may not be that quick, their chops and salsa an other foods definitely make it worth it.

My burrito arrived cold on the inside. Yet the sauce was hot! So, it was somewhat inedible. Would not go back. Only nice thinks: fairly cheap, nice front porch.

Confession #1. I like burritos. A lot. In fact I could eat a good burrito every day and never be happier. Confession #2: I am a sucker for anywhere I can order at the counter and get good food. Confession #3: I eat Chipotle burritos. I remember when they weren't everywhere but even as they got big I still appreciated the fact I could get a huge burrito for ~$6. Now you know where I am coming from (and probably more than you want to) so take my review in stride. I like Left Coast Siesta better than Chipotle. Don't go if you have to have 'authentic' mexican. Anybody thinking they will find authentic on the Oregon Coast is well....not with it. But if you want to good burrito this place will do you right.

Love this place! I stick to the wet green burritos with spicy chicken because it's so good. And the salsa is to die for. This is by far my favorite "homemade" salsa. The medium is full of garlic and could just be put in shot glasses. The hot is _seriously_ hot, and I like it hot. Pepper heads must stop here. They also add sunflower seeds to their food and salsa which give it a really great flavor. Don't knock it til you try it!

The food is of the fast Mexican variety, but for all that it's not bad! The lettuce is iceberg, sadly. I had the taco salad--which they happily and easily made both gluten and dairy free for me by selecting or deselecting certain options on the item. I had the tequila lime chicken as one part of it, which was very citrus-y--I love that, but not everyone would. The salsa and olives were both a little skimpy, but the guac I ordered on the side was a generous portion. It was also extremely lime-y, and actually too salty, which is a rarity for me. I imagine it varies with the chef. :) The food could be better, could be worse, is what I would say. Very much just fine and A-OK. ;)

My friend told me I should try this place for their great Tex Mex burritos. I ordered a burrito that was size of my head. They have a large collection of hot sauce offerings, and very fair prices. My beef burrito with green salsa was fine--nothing fabulous, but an ok meal and very filling. It was a bit bland, but I didn't add anything from the hot sauce collection so maybe they expect you to spice it up yourself, or perhaps I should have ordered a spicier filling. It's one of those local places where you would eat again when in town, but not a stand out destination for authentic Mexican food.

  • Colin D.

At first glace this place seemed promising. I'm a lover of hot sauces so the large collection of hot sauces visible upon entry was very encouraging in a town with few options for eating out. And then it all went to hell. The hot sauce collection, while large, is completely incompatible with mexican food (where is the cholula or tapatio?!!) The "mexican" food prepared by 3 overwhelmed teenagers was completely inedible. I was told I had to choose either beans or rice on my burrito because putting both on would cause the burritos to "explode". Hmmm. Avoid this place at all costs.

Contrary to the other reviews, Left Coast Siesta is the best place to eat in Manzanita. By far. Hands down. Don't go expecting Mexican food because it's not Mexican food. It's the best, freshest burritos and tacos anywhere on the coast. I get a "wet" burrito every time I go to the beach; filled with spicy chicken, refried beans, lettuce, tomatoes, salsa and topped with enchilada sauces, it's big enough to satisfy the hungriest eater. I'm stuffed even after doing the 7 mile run to the state park and back in the morning. Definitely worth eating here, despite the negative reviews.

This was average at best. A group of six and we all ordered the tequilla-lime chicken. We all agreed totally blah. The boys said the hot sauce was VERY hot. The best part was the rice and beans. I would not go back since there are better choices in town.

I have had consistently exceptional burritos at Left Coast for many years. Their wet burritos are the best.

Very disappointing! Based on the fact that they are well visited and looked inviting, we checked them out for dinner tonight. The completely apathetic behaviour of the staff is only trumped by the blandness of the food. This was the blandess "Mexican" food I ever had. Yes, maybe I could have used one of the sauces offered but, call me old fashioned, food should have some stand alone flavor: my Enchilladas did not... I am looking forward to getting my Mexican fix at my local Taco bus.

We love Left Coast for fresh, healthy food. Great for families with kids (have a small kid's menu) Very relaxed atmosphere. You can also call your order in ahead of time and pick it up - this is a great idea during the busy season.

Very consistent and fast, healthy Mexican food. In our town there's not many options for eating out, but Left Coast is one of the best.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
