Place is small, a little loud, but ge nelly clean. I ordered the 11, Chile Rellano and a Tomale. Bud light came and was offered a pint glass, used it for a margarita instead. Beer is cold and margarita is tasty. Food arrived on a hot plate with massive portions.

I'd love to review this restaurant but even though this restaurant was open until 9 they turned us away at 8:30 saying they were closed, a big party of 8.

This place sucks. The margaritas have no tequila at all, just a $8.50 glass of lemonade. The food was bland and way over priced and the helping were small. STAY AWAY! GO EAT A BURGER SOMEWHERE!

I have had mexican food from California, Nevada, Arizona, Alaska, Texas, South Dakota, DC and now unfortunately Oregon. I ordered the three item combo even after noticing the horrible carpet and decor. The chili reallano that I got was a flat top scrambled egg patty with a chili and some cheese folded in with a sauce on top, the taco had a boxed taco shell, the enchilada was ground beef with some kind of chicken sauce (gross), and the chips were out of a bag (but warmed) The Enmoladas ( Mole enchiladas) were ok just a little too sweet. The only reason I'm not leaving one star is cause our waitress was nice. If you have ever had real homemade mexican food then steer clear. This is mid west mexican food. :(

Tasty, fast, and generous portions too. We went here because it was one of only two places open Sunday night. Maybe our experience was colored by the food tasting familiar after a long trip (3 weeks on the road) but three of is enjoyed our dinner greatly, simple as it was. I had fajitas with nopales; made a tasty breakfast when reheated too.

Our dinner came out hot and quick. He salsa was mediocre but not bad. I had a chicken chimichanga and my husband had 3 tacos el comal. He said his was great and mine was very yummy. I would visit again.

I love s good dive Mexican restaurant. This is not one. It was filthy. When they brought my rellenos burrito i thought i could look past the cleanliness, it was huge. Turned out to be a whole lot of flavorless meat beans and cheese. Half way through it was a watery mess. There are not many options in lake view but it will be worth searching elsewhere.

Went to this restaurant as it was next door to Best Western and we didn't want to have to ride the motorcycles or cab anywhere. The options within walking distance seemed really limited. The food was only so so (2 star) but the margaritas were good so the 3 star. The staff was friendly and accommodating - but the place needs a little bit of a spruce up.

"Are there any restaurants close by?" I asked the lady at the desk at the motel. ""Yep, there's a Mexican restaurant right next to us and it's real good". With that suggestion and keeping in my mind that one must be a courageous Yelper at all times, I went for it. WOW! The gal was not lying and it was some of the best Mexican I have had. Chips and salsa were great as was the Burrito Colorado. Had to be the best as I had ZERO repeats later on and it was clearly made with care. Décor was a bit divey, but don't let that scare you. Service was OK. When in Lakeview and needing a Mexican food fix, stop here!

Love this place! If you look at the building, its a tad dumpy. Don't let that fool you. The food is amazing. Great service and the carne asada is delish.

Wow! Yeah....it's not much to look at, but WHO CARES?! This place is excellent! Wishing I had snapped a pic of the Carne Asada or Huevos Rancheros......they were pretty, and on a huge platter. The asada was grilled to perfection, expertly cut. Beans and rice were tasty and super flavorful. I got the big order, with a cheese and onion enchilada. The Huevos review from the GF took a hit only for not coming with tortillas on the side (she pilfered mine!) Order a side of guacamole......it's really good too! The ONLY thing I could whine about was the house salsa.....it was nothing amazing.....but only notable because everything else WAS. Sooooo glad I listened to the kid at the Shell station on this stopover! This is my new, "go-to" for Lakeview. (First EVER!)

This, astonishingly, ranks among the worst food I've ever had in my entire life. It's fitting that this tale of terror is set in one of the ugliest interior design jobs that I've ever seen. Bright yellow walls, mismatched tables and red and purple booths, and a dingy carpet make this place an absolute eye sore. The chips are ok. The salsa tastes like it's poured directly from a jar purchased at the grocery store. If you're a vegetarian, don't think that ordering a supposedly meatless dish means that you're going to receive a plain cheese and onion enchilada. The salsa apparently has chunks of chicken or pork in it. Exchanging it for a truly meatless dish was met with eye rolls, heavy sighs, and even shit talking in the back. (I speak Spanish. Oops.) When the correct dish was brought out, even more dramatics on the part of the waiter allowed me to wallow in guilt and shame for ordering what I wanted to eat and not just timidly accepting what I was given. It brought back such sweet memories of being in an abusive relationship, years ago. It was very kind of the waiter to let me relive those years of my life while trying to have what otherwise was shaping up to be an unremarkable part of my weekend vacation. When the correct dish arrived, it was bland, and the lack of spices used was hiding under a thick mask of black pepper. The rice and beans also looked like they were purchased at the Safeway down the street, heated up, and served as something that was actually made by an in-house chef. I've never in my life wanted to just run out of a restaurant before, but this place made me actually feel panic, it was so terrible. From the hateful stares of the waiter to the horrible and EXPENSIVE food, it was just a nightmare. We ended up going to Subway after picking through what was edible on our plate, and I -hate- Subway. You have truly failed as a restaurant when Subway has to step up to the plate for you. I feel genuinely sad for anyone who thinks this is a good restaurant. I hope one day you get to experience real Mexican food, prepared by people who aren't hateful and are actually gifted chefs.

We had a great dinner here tonight. The staff was friendly and prompt. The chicken enchiladas were really good. We've tried several restaurants in Lakeview over the two weeks we were here, and El Aguila Real served us the best food in town.

Dinner tonight (after hiking and camping in Steens) was chicken mole (with rice, beans, iceberg lettuce). It was rich and prepared with nice caramelized onions. Too bad it had very little flavor. It was about $12.95 and I also tried a standard margarita. Nothing had any real flavor except the hot sauce- which I liked. There seems to be other decent choices (not Mexican) in town. This place was just OK with service being friendly and efficient until the check fails to arrive.

The food was good, and the service was too. The food was really, really hot when it came to the table (a bit extreme, especially considering the 16 month old at the table). I would definitely go again!
