Snack Shack

Reviews:
Best milkshakes in town, hands down. It's always a toss up on which of our two favorite diners we go to. It usually comes down to whether or not I'm craving a chocolate malt. If so, Snack Shack it is! My favorite burger is the jalepeno, where they actually heat up the peppers on the grill before sliding them onto the burger. This little trick makes them much better than if they had just spooned them out of the jar. My fiance seems to order a different burger every time, but always cleans his basket no matter what he chose. We both prefer the curly fries over the thin regular fries, but they also have tots, steak/thick fries, and other fried goodies.
Seemed the owner/ cook/waitress had it all together. Quick, good burgers and a nice visit from the local town pets, deer.
There are a number of places to get a burger in this small town of 2,300 population. Whenever I am hungry for a burger, I find myself heading for the Snack Shack. The food is always good. I am particularly fond of the Malibu Chicken sandwich, Yummy. I've always thought the french fries here are the best in town. The staff is always friendly. This is a rather good spot for a quick bite to eat.

5 star because it's the only bar In town. A one horse bar in a one horse town with one house whisky. Drink up! Sum it up to a local country car where everyone gets along. Saturday nights Are good.
Oh boy what can I say about the eagles nest.... Whoa don't drink to much! You might just wake up somewhere that has cat poop stuck to the bath Mat and a pile of laundry bigger mt Rushmore. Idk just sayin it could happen. Ok on a serious note this place is a lot of fun they've got got a bunch of TVs to watch the games and a couple of ratchet looking pool tables I got fairly decent at playing. The drinks are fair priced and poured right. The crowd is pretty friendly but every so often a fight breaks out. The food is ok I'm a fan of the Cajun wrap, the chicken strips are off the hook too the steaks were just ok and salty. They need to add buffalo wings to the menu for sure. I've had some great memories come from here and few bad decisions, enjoy a drink a game of pool and some fun
Very very good chicken fried steak! Everything was perfect on the plate when we went. Burger was a big thick patty and loaded with veggies (mouthful) Portions are huge. We went for a bloody mary (FRAN makes the super bomb ones) and an order of fries and got the large (mistake) they were served on a mounded DINNER PLATE!!!(order them crispy) THE ONLY thing I could as for is it could have been a sirloin burger cooked to temp . Other than that EVERYTHING IS GREAT ESPECIALLY THE STAFF!! THANKS AND MANY MORE MEALS TO COME and yes the staff makes that place great.

Mario’s Dinner House

9 N F St
Lakeview, 97630
Reviews:
Coming to Lakeview for the first time for work. I arrived at the Best Western Motel and asked where the best food in town was. Without hesitation both front desk staff simultaneously said Mario's! So I waited with anticipation for 5 p.m. so I could go there. Upon arrival I was greeting in the most friendly manner by three staff. I asked to sit in the bar area as I was by myself and didn't want to take up a table that could be used by a larger group. Immediately upon seating the bartender was at the table taking my drink order. I was saddened to hear that they didn't have any local microbrews, so I opted for an Alaskan Amber Ale from the tap. Shortly thereafter the wait staff arrived and took my order. My second disappointment came when I was informed that they did not have Prime Rib, even though it was on the menu. I went with my second choice a small filet mignon. Prior to my main course arriving I was graced with a salad. This was my third disappointment as it was clearly a bag salad, however it was topped with a very tasty lemon poppeyseed dressing. When my main course arrived I wasn't expecting much, but I was finally pleased with a part of the meal. The steak was cooked to perfection, juicy, tender and melt in your mouth! The rice pilaf side was prepared on site as well and was very tasty with slivers of carrots, onions, and other spices. This was the best rice pilaf I have ever eaten. The staff were very attentive without being arduous. The ambiance of the place was very rustic although the air conditioning was set a little too cold. Price point for Mario's Dinner House was surprisingly moderate, but given the triple disappointment, I would have preferred it to be a little less than it was. All in all this is a good place in a small town with limited dining options. Give it a try, just don't order the prime rib on a Tuesday.
This is the best food I've found in lakeview and affordable for a steakhouse. I ordered a New York steak cooked seared rare with the fat edge trimmed prior to grilling. It came to my table cooked perfectly, the bread roll was baked in house and great, the staff was nice. If you're in lakeview for dinner and want something better than diner food stop here. This is a lakeview 4 star review this wouldn't compare to a 4star rating in a urban area, but you'll be pleased when compared to other places in town
Pulling into Lakeview, there are few choices for a decent meal. The clerk at my hotel suggested Mario's steakhouse, so I gave it a try. It feels like an old town restaurant, which is cool. Lots of old historic photos on the wall when you walk in. I had the place to myself save a couple at the bar. The service was friendly and quick. I was informed there was no prime rib tonight (a similar problem from another reviewer!). If you can't keep it, take it off the menu...they put limes in the water, nice touch. I ordered the rib steak with rice, Caesar salad and a roll. The salad was the best part of the meal. The rice had no flavor whatsoever. The steak (medium rare) was char-grilled and pink on the inside. It was cooked to my liking, but curiously had little taste. I had I ask for steak sauce, which I never do with a good steak. I am a little disappointed in this place based on the previous reviews. I have no doubt in a town like this, there are hundreds of ranchers who can cook a steak better in their own homes.

I ordered the Garlic Chicken for the lunch special so that was under $6, my husband and I shared an appetizer combo so my half cost $5.50. This place is very affordable on a budget, and quite tasty I like the appetizer combo, the shrimp were delicious as was the BBQ Pork, the foil wrapped chicken was a little salty, and the crab puffs were yummy. The service was wonderful, I really enjoyed eating here and would recommend everyone give it a go, its quite good :-)
Great jewel in this litte town. Had lunch special for Sunday lunch. It was delicious.
Great food, tasted very fresh. Husband didn't like his dish due to the veggies and they were happy to make something different for him with know problems. Definitely will come back when we are back in this area.

This is a pretty small place but comfortable. Typical dinner decor. There were a few original things on the menu like pasties that looked interesting. I had the special, prime rib sandwich. It came with grilled onions, au jus, Swiss cheese. It was quite large but thoughtfully cut in half for easier eating. Very tasty. My spouse had the hamburger. It was apparently hand made and quit good. I think the buns are homemade. Good service too.
Can't find a better country fried steak ANYWHERE! The homemade bread is to die for...and I don't care for bread!! The prices aren't too bad an you get ALOT of food!
Great little place. But be warned, this isn't fast food and your meal will be cooked to order which takes a little time. My fiance and I were here for breakfast. I ordered the French Toast (my usual) and it was delicious. The thick homemade bread really made this a hearty meal. My fiance ordered the special which was two eggs, two sausage, biscuits, and gravy. He loved it. I snagged a bite of his sausage and it was a little mild for me, but tasty none the less. There were a few other diners and everyone seemed to understand the orders took extra time to be done right. In the meantime though, no one's coffee ran out. We decided to take home a loaf of the bread, which was only $3 a bag! Not too bad, even though we couldn't eat it all before it went stale (one of the downfalls of fresh, non-preservative foods).

Probably our favorite diner in Lakeview. Tanya (Tawnya?) is always spot on with service, a smile, and the best doughnuts I've had in Eastern Oregon. My fiance and I have had breakfast and lunch here and no matter what we've ordered from the extensive menu, we are always presented with delicious, hot food. Once we even ordered a pizza, and it was a fantastic pan-like deep dish with lots of melty goodness. I really like the huge wood-burning fireplace that takes up a whole wall of the seating area. On cold mornings, sitting next to that thing is the best.
Great place to eat. The service is good, the meals are hot. Reuben is what I had and it was the best I have had in this town so far. They grilled it with lots of meat and sourkraut, had to ask for the 1000 cause it comes dry. The only reason its marked down from five was cause the tuna sammy my girlfriend had cheap pickle slices and the thin bread became soggy :( maybe a mis-hap but one of the better and cheaper places for lunch. WILL DINE AGAIN!
A real small town diner, with the added bonus of baked goods! Stopped for breakfast on the way thru town. Lots of regular customers, and friendly folks. Good diner food, what you'd expect from a small town place. Nothing over priced or pretentious, just an authentic experience of a dying tradition.

Quick, friendly service and a tasty breakfast, what more can I say? Coffee was a little weak for my liking (I prefer jet fuel), but OK for restaurant coffee. I had two eggs with hashbrowns, toast and bacon and all items were prepared to perfection. Place was clean as was restroom. This place has been in Lakeview since the 1960's and I can see why. Worth a stop if in the area.
Under New management now. Our server was extremely friendly prices have gone up a little but not too bad. Portions are decent BUT I witnessed one of the workers come out of the bathroom not having flushed the toilet or washed her hands....
Middle of the road diner. Best thing about Jerry's is it is often open when other options are not. Breakfasts have been fine, though I believe my fiance has enjoyed his chicken fried steak more than I have enjoyed my French toast. (I like cinnamon spice in the batter and Jerry's batter does not use it) Prices are fair and the coffee is average.

Great service! Cashier was way friendly, the restaurant was clean and inviting and the food was good. Only had 3 people working the lunch rush on a Saturday, so we had a 20 minute wait. Other than that it was good
So apparently the vast majority of the reviewers are either morons or are completely drunk.. This place is excellent and in my opinion, is leaps and bounds better than their competitors. I frequently visit burger queen for lunch, $8.09 for a cheeseburger meal with fry sauce is more than fair considering it's actually real food and not mcdonalds, maybe the other reviewers have personal taste that is more in line with disgusting fast food type places. I have tried several different items and have yet to be disappointed. Keep up the great work guys.
This was the best buger ive had in my life we went there because the name was kind of funny i ened up haveing one of the best bugers and milkshakes ever the frys werent anything special but the buger was perfection
