I've been eating, off and on, at Thai Princess for many years. My last trip was a disappointment. Not only did they appear to mix up the spiciness requests between my friend and me, but the overall condition of the food was really mediocre. The fresh rolls were poorly constructed and rolled, falling apart as you picked them up. The curries both appeared to be over-stewed, with veggies that were so far from fresh that they could've been mashed into past, with little to no structural integrity left. Heck, even the rice had a texture that gave the impression that the rice had been sitting in the pot for hours, just waiting for liberation, but sapped of the will to retain it's cohesion. I have to say that I'm truly saddened by this past visit. I'm hoping that it was a fluke.

This was a fabulous spot! Great service! Food came within 10-15 minutes, everything was amazing! Prices were reasonable and great portion sizes. Our family of 6 (4 boys ages 8-20) loved it! Definitely will be back and will recommend to friends!

Went here tonight, not my first time. Delicious as always and customer service was great. They are in a little strip mall and definitely worth the stop if you're in the area. They also offer take out.

This has been the goto Thai place multiple times during weekday lunches as this is pretty close to Intel. Their lunch specials come with a soup which is pretty awesome. I am a big fan of their soup and could have a big bowl of just their soup if they had it as a separate dish :) I have tried various dishes like Thai basil fried rice, Drunken noodles, Red Curry, Pad Cashew nut delight, Masaman Curry etc.. Most of the dishes are pretty decent though not awesome like Thai Elephant or other better thai places. The lunch special also includes a fried veg spring roll. I havent been here for dinner and lunch gets pretty crowded as they are closer to Intel. Service - 4 Food -3 Ambiance -4 Price -4

After a couple visits I found the food and service to be mediocre at best. I had the worst Pad Thai of my life there on the last visit. The veggie version had lovely big chunky vegetables and tofu but the sauce tasted like fish sauce mixed with that red sweet and sour sauce that comes on low grade Chinese food. The whole plate was bright red. No waiter or waitress checked on us and they never brought me an extra plate, or a high chair for my one year old daughter on this visit, though the last time we went I thought the service was fine. The restaurant is in a strip mall next to a deli with video poker and a 711. The sidewalk smelled strongly of urine.

Our server was rude. Plain ol' rude. I get that some of it may be cultural, but that is no excuse to treat us like you had something better to do than answer a few questions and take our order. There...I said it. The food was good. Just good...not spectacular...not super yumalicious...not meh...just good. The kids seemed to enjoy what they ordered (thai wings, green curry, pad thai - they usual) with the exception of my youngest. Now...this girl is NOT a picky eater, but I had to agree with her that with peanut sauce, a little goes a long way and...if her chicken was still kickin' before they put on, it most definitely was after because it would have died from drowning. We have a favorite Thai place in Hillsboro and only came here because our fav is closed on Sunday and we would not go out of our way to eat here again.

I was a little nervous about getting food from here because some of the recent reviews have been a bit of a bummer. However, I'm pleased to announce that my food was extremely good, exactly as ordered, and prepared quickly. First of all, the egg rolls here are possibly the best egg rolls I've ever had. The wrapping was crisp but not too bready, the veggies inside were cooked perfectly, and the dipping sauce was fantastic. I'm often left regretting having ordered egg rolls, but I would come back here again JUST to order them. The others in my party had the pad thai and massaman curry - I didn't try either of their dishes because I was too busy working up a sweat on my own. They both said their dishes were great. I had the pineapple curry, which I'm sure would have been marvelous on its own, but I asked them to make it "extremely hot." The heat levels indicated on the menu are mild, medium, hot, and extremely hot, but I learned that the staff actually prefer numbers 1 through 4, respectively. While ordering, I asked the employee if "extremely hot" is as hot as it would be in Thailand. He said no, they actually have a heat level 5 which is "thai spicy." I really enjoy getting kicked in the teeth with heat when eating Thai food, but I wussed out and stuck with level 4. By the time I was done, I was just barely starting to sweat...it was a very pleasant level of heat and the afterburn was pretty significant. Next time I'll go all out with heat level 5 to experiment, but I'm pleased to report that I can't find a single negative thing to say about my dining experience.

We have been here a few times, but not for a while since we live closer to Zab and we like their pad Thai a lot more. Tonight I had a craving for Wonton Soup. Never had it before, but I like wontons and wanted a soup. So we ended up here at Thai Princess. My daughter and I realy liked the soup. Inside the wonton is a whole shrimp, which was not what I was expecting. It was good, but would have been so much better had it been ground up or chopped more like a filling. The pork, veggies, and broth were perfect. I would order it again for sure. My husband had the Thai princess delight with beef and didn't stop talking about how good it was (I tried it and he was right it's delicious). 3 stars because their Pad Thai really does suck and like another reviewer said it tastes like they use ketchup for the sauce. Also I paid $11 for the wonton soup. It's good, but not $11 good especially since I ate the whole bowl.

I gave this Thai restaurant a try based on Yelp and I am glad that I did. The food was very tasty and in my opinion one of the best Thai places around. The menu may not be as extensive as Thai Orchid up the road, but the flavor of the food is better here. Had the cashew chicken and phad thai on this visit and both were excellent. I plan on many more visits in the future. I went for dinner in the middle of the week. The place wasn't busy and service was OK, nothing spectacular. The location isn't the best and I agree with another review about the smoke from the bar next door. Got an occassional whiff of smoke, but that could be remedied by a different table I think. If you are looking for good Thai at a reasonable price, this is a gem to experience.

Oh Dear! What happened here?! I was craving some pad thai And now, I gotta give them the *stink eye* For not making my dish "spicy" as requested Those noodles - looked all molested In fact, they were sticking all together And that "pad thai" flavor wasn't better I ordered the "tofu" pad thai ($8.50) to be healthy And after all this, not sure if they earn any empathy I've come here a couple dozen times And I've given them the benefit of the doubt sometimes For other people they've found a nail or even a "hair" But thank goodness it hasn't happened to me there But you guys were once considered "good" I'll give you that; but there are better Thai places in the hood Alas my Thai Princess restaurant You don't deliver flavors of what I want I do applaud your quick service But eating here, now makes me nervous! Pad ke Mao. Spicy noodles with basil? Can you ever wrong with that here? No. End of discussion. Great for nice fast lunch that is always tasty.

  • Rob C.

Wow, I had the pad basil with shrimp, medium spice, and it was amazing. Perfect portion for lunch. Spicy and sweet. The mushrooms and bell peppers with basil complimented the shrimp perfectly.

  • Janet M.

I just wasn't overly impressed in either direction by this place. I went for lunch with a girlfriend. It was crowded. I had pad thai with chicken, medium. It had only a trace of heat, I would have classified it as mild. I think I'm starting to get Thai'd out... or super picky. My noodles were just ok. My diet coke was good, though. Or was it pepsi???

Service was excellent and food was awesome. I almost didn't puck this place due to some of the reviews. I'm glad I tired it anyways. Was only visiting area but thus is worth trying. I recommend it.

What to do when you are waiting for the de-barfed king sized comforter to dry: Thai! (If you missed that review, there is a laundromat in the center a few doors down) SO chose this over my more sensible diet friendly suggestions. Cheryl D.'s reasonable warning to not eat at a restaurant that is fluttering close to being closed down for doing dumb unhygienic things in the kitchen is like a gauntlet thrown down to us, well, to me; I saw no reason to trouble SO with facts. But I like the thrill. It is a very stylish joint, a full bar on one end, a large dining area with beautiful teak and walnut tables, snazzy lights, etc, etc. Not really a place to come in shorts and thongs, but I love that we can get away with it. We started off with soup. While the menu does not say this, they do have half orders of Tom Yum, which we ordered or Tom Kha soup, which is plenty for two. I thought it a one note broth with chicken and veggies one would expect. SO enjoyed it more than I. For our meal we had the red curry with chicken and the Rama Thai, both were OK, though I think the Rama was the winner of the evening; grilled chicken on a bed of steamed spinach with nicely cooked carrot and broccoli in a great presentation. The peanut sauce that covers the chicken was really too thick and over powering, I thought, however. If I ordered it again, I would ask for that on the side and use it more as a condiment, which would make it much nicer. The chicken was a little dry also. I haven't commented on the red curry. It was fine but like everyone else's red curry, veggies and chicken with coconut milk and all. We ordered everything with medium spiciness--always guesswork in a Thai restaurant; it was pretty warm, plan accordingly. Really nothing was bad at all with our meal and the service was fine, it was just that there was nothing terribly inspiring here, either. Which is my gripe with most Thai restaurants, especially here in the land of bland. That having been said, if you are doing laundry, it is close enough that you can run over to switch things or add quarters or whatever, and as a dinner for laundry night, it was really a step up from stuff we used to eat in college doing the same thing. But in college, we did not spend $30ish for laundry dinners for two, either. So I am writing this the evening after. I came home from work and my Asian to-go box sat empty in the sink. SO, the snake, ate what was going to be my dinner. He gobbled it down before he went to work this afternoon. I called and asked him innocently, "Was your lunch alright?" "The Thai chicken? Yeah, it was." "Feeling OK?" "Uh, yeah. Why?" Damn. I was hoping for the Health Inspector revenge...

Why I loved Thai Princess: *fast friendly service *clean and classy with a divey feel tucked in a strip mall *DELICIOUS FOOD *REASONABLE PRICES This place seemed to be well known for take out as in the course of 45 minutes of being there, I watched around 20 to-go orders. This was a very nice experience and would be fun for a birthday, cute date, or like us tonight having a little girls' night dinner! Highly recommended!

Solid pad kee mao.... That's my standard go-to item when trying a new place. Portion size was good, the ingredients' quality was above average. Again, and I think this is just my palate, their "hot" was only mild, maybe medium, in my opinion. I need to order "Thai-spicy" everywhere i go in the states, the heat level is no where near what you would get in Thailand. Want to try some of their curries next time. The panang looked good.

  • Alice V.

My kids and I eat here probably 2-3 times per month. It is well priced, clean and service is fast. I've tried their soup, rice, noodle and special dishes and all have been good. Only "issue": The spice in the dishes can vary quite a bit. Sometimes medium is burning, sometimes hot feels medium. The inconsistency has become almost a game at this point.

I'm not sure what to think of this place. 2.5 or 3 stars. I love thai food. I really do. But I've had far better, for less. I came here [alone] for Christmas Eve dinner, after a previous visit during normal business hours ended up in me finding out they close in the middle of the day. My boyfriend was out of town. No big deal. I was seated away from everyone but this guy across from me at the bar. He was staring at me throughout my meal. And he obviously knew the server. The interior of the restaurant is very nice, and does not smell like smoke, as a previous reviewer has suggested. I wasn't choked by any burning materials, either. I ordered the fried tofu triangles (~8 or 9 pieces) and the Pad Garlic with pork. You cannot screw up fried tofu. Honestly. I'll just smother it in peanut sauce (which I asked for, because theirs came with sweet/sour sauce). So it was good. The Pad Garlic, with a bowl of white or brown rice, sounds excellent. It was pretty good. I honestly felt there wasn't enough garlic. The pork wasn't chewy. Good amount of vegetables. I had just spooned some pad garlic on my plate when a couple airing out dirty laundry was seated right in front of me. The lady was crying here and there, while talking about her anxiety and alcoholism. This, in conjunction with the creeper at the bar, was too much for me. Not the restaurant's fault. I just wished I was sitting elsewhere. When I received my bill, I couldn't tell you why it was worth $20.40. This is my main problem. Honestly, I'd rather go to Panda Express, save some cash & not get stared at. The quality of the food isn't bad. It's just a bit expensive. I could've made the tofu with peanut sauce for less than $2 at home. I was hoping for a better Thai place in the area. One that provides good food for a decent price. My boyfriend and I will have to give it another try.

Had the pineapple curry and a glass of white wine for dinner. The waiter was nice. The portions are huge. Yummy yummy.

Pleasantly surprised by this place. We drove out here to go to dinner at Sushi n' Maki (closed Sundays--who knew!) and so we walked over to Thai Princess instead. It was fairly empty because it was close to 8pm on a Sunday, but service was fine. We had Tom Kha soup and it was quite good. The flavors of a mild, coconut curry in soup form. My daughter had tofu pad thai (it's what she gets at every Thai restaurant) and we both agreed this was our favorite version we've had since moving to Oregon. She wished there were more noodles and less bean sprouts and veggies (she's 10). I had the chicken and shrimp basil special and it was quite good, too. My only regret with that dish is that I wish they described it as "ground chicken and shrimp" so expectations would be set correctly. I was expecting full pieces of meat and shrimp...but I can't complain about the flavor. I will go back to try some curries and other items. It's definitely a keeper on the rotation list.

Lightning fast service. A very hidden unassuming restaurant with good food. With a thai restaurant on every other block here in Oregon, this is a good local spot to go to in Hillsboro. Staff is friendly. Prices are reasonable, and they have a nice selection of chili sauce and peppers upon request. If you are in for lunch you will get a complimentary soup that is surprisingly delicious. I wouldn't call this the best Thai place around, but i haven't tried better.

  • Julieann F.

Dropped by on a whim for some salad rolls (they call them fresh rolls here). They were ready 5 minutes later and came with a big pot of tasty peanut sauce. Based on this great experience, I will be back to try more menu items!

Thai Princess is the closest Thai restaurant to my place, so I have given it a go several times. First off, don't even bother trying to come here at noon on a weekday. You will be unable to find parking and the place (along with every other restaurant in the area) will be slam packed with the Intel lunch crowd. I also suggest against going after normal lunch hours because the food starts tasting a bit more gross as the day goes by. I have no idea why. Are they reusing old, dirty pans? Paying less attention to the food as it cooks? I don't know, but I've been left with a distinct raunchy flavor in my mouth after a few bites of pad thai or other dish. The thai iced tea also tastes off, but maybe that was the aftertaste. Service is meh at best. They seem to abandon the front of the house as soon as the last Intel person leaves, so expect poor service if you try this place after lunch time. It's one of those places where the server comes by once to take your order, a second time to deposit it, and if you're lucky, a third time to deposit the check. You won't see a server more than twice, they will never make any suggestions, will never give you a chance to order dessert and you'll wait awhile for your check. Outside the lunch rush, the restaurant is a tomb the rest of the day. I'd suggest skipping this place and trying Vivi's around the corner instead.

The price was about what I would expect for Thai food. The food itself was pretty good, I had the Pad See Ew which was pretty good but not the best that I've had. The Thai Ice Tea was really good.

  • Patrick C.

Love this place. I can't get enough of the yellow curry, but most of the items on the menu are good. After you are seated, the bring a free soup consisting of tofu, rice, cilantro and various spices - very tasty. The service is quick and the staff is diligent in checking if you need refills. Great lunch spot.

    (5)
  • Joey K.

Solid Thai restaurant. Went with my standard Pad Se Ew and enjoyed it. Not the best I've had in the Portland Metro area but a worthwhile visit if you're out in Hillsboro. Basically, you'll get what you expect. No surprises (good or bad) just the run of the mill fare. Prices were decent, and so was the quantity.

Driving around Hillsboro on a Saturday evening after an unexpected trip to Fred Meyer ..."what do you want to eat?" "I dunno, what do you want to eat?" We decided on Thai, googled Thai, and drove to the closest one, which was Thai Princess. The parking lot was crowded, so we thought it must be pretty good. Little did we know, there was only one other table filled (the one in the front window) in the entire restaurant. At 6:30 p.m. on a Saturday night. (Turns out most of the cars in the lot were for the patrons of the bar/grill next door) Well, okay....we went in and got seated. The decor is lovely...tasteful, well-balanced, soothing. The service was functional. He brought the drinks, brought the order, brought the check. Not unpleasant, not particularly pleasant..just functional. The best we could do regarding the food (fresh rolls, pad thai, green curry) was that it was 'ok'. Nothing to write home about. Portions were adequate, prices were moderate. We got exactly what we ordered, no surprises. There was nothing wrong with it, per se....we just weren't wowed or impressed, it certainly wasn't the best Thai food I've ever had, nor was it the worst. It was...ok. We probably won't be going back.

Ordered Pad Thai to-go at 9pm on a Tuesday. ($9 w/chick/beef/pork, $11 w/seafood) Pad Thai with Chicken -noodles had a good consistency, but were a bit softer that my preference -the chicken was mildly seasoned (could have used more flavor) because... -the sauce was incredibly disappointing-too sweet, lacked that pad thai flavor, and had more of the ketchup taste that comes with poorly made pad Thai dishes. -I requested spicy, but their level was clearly mild. **I would give this a 2 star just for the dish last night. but it is normally better. but not much better in my opinion. I really like their eggplant shrimp and tom yum. (although the shrimp they use here is often bruised and of lower quality...)

Consistently good Thai food, very fast service most days.

  • Laura K.

Best Thai I've had so far in Hillsboro. Their curries are mouthwateringly good!! Really great and fast for take-out but not always the fastest if you're sitting in--so know your time limitations. Decent prices and good variety too. Woooo!

I had been oscillating between a three and a two for a while, but the last take out that I got from there solidified the two. I have gone in there for lunch with my wife on a few occasions, and both of us wanted to find a restaurant close by that could work for a quick lunch. Thai food is usually quick for lunch, so that has been a place to go recently. However, the last take out that we got from there was just...well, as the two stars would suggest...meh. The service has always been adequate in the past, and I have had no problems with the speed of the food, but this time was just too much. The Pad Thai that my wife had was just...off. I don't know a better way to put it, but it was just off. The rich peanutty taste that I would expect was simply missing. I had the Pad Se Ew, and it was OK, the spice was fine, but a bit greasier than I have had at other places. With many choices, even in the 'boro, for Thai, this one is no longer on the list. Too bad. I was hoping that this would be a nice go-to place for a quick lunch. The search continues...

the first couple times I went here it was really good, however since then not so much. They are always inconsistant I ordered really hot one time and got just that another time I ordered it that way and it was super bland. My friend has gotten there food several times and asked them not to put certain things in due to allergies, he's had to take it back a few times cause they didn't get it correct. I am really surprised at how busy they are for lunch, their lunch menu is not super cheap... not expensive but more than I would pay for the quality of food and service.

Best Chicken Pad Thai around. I've tried a few other places around and they aren't nearly as good as Thai Princess. I go here 2-3 times a week. Don't waste your time going anywhere else.

Best Thai restaurant in town! Customer service, however, is very inconsistent. Avoid 12-1pm if you're starving.

    (4)
  • Regina C.

My mission to search for a thai restaurant that is able to make a spicy green curry is complete! I'm so happy that when you indicate "spicy" you get spicy, because most places would give you a moderate heat level even when you indicate you want spicy or very spicy. I guess most restaurant are worried that they'll over spice it and prefers to have the customers add more chili to their entree. But I want my entree to be SPICY if I indicate spicy and not have to put additional work into it!! This is totally my new most go to thai restaurant whenever I'm craving thai food!!!

BEST PAD THAI in town! I've been to Thai Orchid, Happy Panda and this place beats them all hands down! Great flavor, service and it is quiet.

I go here for lunch with some people from work usually once a week, and I really enjoy this restaurant. The staff are friendly, and the food is always tasty and usually arrives quickly. Their lunch prices are decent, too (around $9.50). I'm a fan!

Good service, and great with our three year old! I love a good pad Thai with tofu, and I like theirs spicy (which gives u just a slight burn on the lips!) We go back often!!! I like Princess much better than Thai Orchid!

Based on my recent 2 visits here, it would reflect bad on me if i dont upgrade this to a 6 star. Especially for their lunch specials. - There flavor is a lot better than other places i have been around. - Lunch Special comes with soup and Spring roll - Lunch is almost dinner quantity. Nice deal!

  • I K.

Prices are up a little bit, instructions on my dishes weren't followed. And they didn't have any ice in the ice water? I asked for it, and was ignored. My last visit was not the typical experience that i'd seen at this place over the last few years. Perhaps there was an ownership change or some major staff turnover. Also got some flack about bill splitting, never had trouble there before. I didn't tip, they didn't earn a damn dime. I hope that they will fix the issues. It was also hot and sticky for a not so hot day of the week inside.

  • Rustie D.

The food here was good, hot and tasty. Nothing outstanding, but very good. The service was excellent and the prices are reasonable. I've been here twice now and I will probably come again. It's close to going home, and that's always a plus.

  • John T.

This is the other thai place by my work. and i was definately surprised. The service is much better then the other place but not exactly faster. For lunch they server plopped down some soup for us. Yeah yeah big deal free soup it's probably tasteless. Acually it was pretty dam good, i could have been happy with a bowl of this soup. It acually had flavor. I was more like a taiwanese poridge, lots of liquid and not as thick. The only thing was my entree tasted ok, it was over whelmed with veggies and i had a hard time finding the beef and noodle in my hot spicy noodle. It wasn't spicy at all either so that was dissapointing. Though my co worker his dish looked sooo much better i felt like reaching over and stealing some of his. I've only been there once, but i must go again to see if it's just my dumb luck to order something that i didn't want.

Good lunch food. Good decent ambiance. Good service. I come back again. The food was very good and the service is quick and friendly. My co-workers and I go here often and everytime the food and service is consistent - very good.

Use to go here often but stopped because the service was just barely even friendly and a few times there were bug parts in the food. Now I have worked in restaurants so this can happen however the way they dealt with it was so unsatisfactory. I just cannot bring myself to go back. However I had been going on and off before because the food was pretty good.

I had the House special: Lemon Grass Chicken Salad, it was fresh, the chicken was not marinated, it was breast breaded and fried. They mistakenly made is so hot that it was unbearable, I had to order Thai Ice tea to be able to finish it. Phillip requested some Chicken and mentioned that the "lovely" Peanut sauce was a bit too thick.

The food was excellent and right out of the kitchen. Too bad it took 35 minutes from the time I walked in for lunch. It put a new spin on eat and run.

Service is fast and friendly. Thai Princess is right down the road from my workplace; a lot of employees go here for lunch. On my first visit there, I ordered the Kung Pao. It was good, but it seemed their medium was more low heat; I would've ordered it hotter. The second time I was there, I ordered Pad Kee Mao. They were out of the wide noodles, so they made them with thin noodles. OK, no big deal, they're busy so I can see this happening in the late afternoon after the Intel lunch rush. However, there was barely any meat. I guess I'm spoiled - I'll drive to Wilsonville (to Thai Village) for their ample portions of Pad Kee Mao with large pieces of beef. My coworker and I stopped by, and this time the Pad Kee Mao was really good. Again, more meat would be appreciated but nevertheless, it was still good.

LOVE this restaurant! It is a recent find for me and I have never had a bad experience. During lunch they start you off with a cup of rice soup, which is delicious (and free). I've ordered the Kung Pao chicken, Cashew Nut Chicken and Pork Fried rice - every meal has been packed with fresh (and not dried out) meat and has always been brought out steaming hot. If you like spice to your Thai food, order things hot, not medium. Medium is great but could use a little extra heat. Prices are pretty reasonable compared to other sit-down restaurants in the area. I will definitely be returning again and again.

    (4)
  • Stephanie F.

The Shrimp Pad Thai is just ok. Zab Thai's pad thai is much better. The fresh rolls are good, but not the best we've had. The inside is surprisingly nice, though could use without the employees sitting in the booths and sleeping or doing whatever they're doing, even when it's slow.

I work nearby and this place gets crowded during lunch time. The food is good and the service is fast. I enjoyed the yellow beef curry it was not as hot as I was hoping so next time I'm going to get the hottest one ... It will probably make me cry later but what the heck. I think it's a delicious meal fir what u pay for ... Most lunch specials are between $8 and $10 and u get a complimentar soup.

There are several Thai places in Hillsboro, and I'm a fan of Thai... Thai Princess is one of the better options in the area. There is a very friendly smily waiter there - he's always smiling! The food is very delicious; I have tried many things on the menu and have to say that my favorite is the basil shrimp because you get quite a few shrimp! And lots of flavor. It can be hard to finf parking in that parking lot on Friday and Saturday nights as well as most lunch hours, but it's worth it!

less fancy than Thai Orchid in the same neighborhood. Good for a cheap & quick lunch. The first time I was there, I thought the food was too sweet, but I didn't feel that the second time. No-frill decor.

Decent food, but the service wasn't great. Midway through lunch 2 different servers came and checked the tab booklet to see if we had paid yet. They stopped by at least 10 times asking us if we were okay. Good services is one thing, but too much service is extremely annoying. 2nd time I went there I got take out, and it was great!

I have been eating here for years and really like it. Pad thai is good, not too oily and great sauce. I get the princess with chicken quite regularly and the last time it wasn't that great - just chicken and veggies with some bland peanut sauce dumped on top (must have been an off night). Everything has lots of fresh veggies and they are cooked really well, nice and crispy. I like that you can get brown rice but they charge you extra for it. Overall one of the better thai places around.

The entire restaurant smells of cigarette smoke due to the pub next door-- pretty much ruined the food for me, and I will not be going back. The day I ate here the server brought their baby and it was crying behind a screen for the entire lunch, that didn't help the ambiance either. Otherwise I suppose the food is ok, but it tastes like it has MSG. Bottom line - If you are in the mood for Thai, go to Siam on West Union/185th instead.

I hadn't been back to this one in a while so I decided to see what was cooking. I stopped in for lunch and they still had their lunch specials 7 days a week for 7 to $8. I ordered a chicken and wide rice noodle dish that came with with bamboo shoots, thai basil, tomato and brown sauce. They also serve you a soup which was tofu rice. All of the food I ate there this time was exceptionally good. I also thought the service was good. This is one place I need to go back to a little sooner.

In a million years, we never would have known this place existed. It's very unassuming in a little strip-mall setting. And even if I had known it was there, I don't think I would have ever tried it out on my own. Thankfully I heard about it from a friend who eats there often, and they recommended it to me. WE LOVE IT! The food is great, the service is friendly, it's clean, and reasonably priced. I've been there for lunch a few times and it's always PACKED!! The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because of the location. It's close to our home so we get awesome Thai food often.

This Thai joint offers the best Honey BBQ ribs. Service is quick and friendly. If you want authentic Thai food, this is the place to be.

We eat here often. Their food is great and the staff are friendly and will answer any questions you have about ingredients without any attitude. I love their Thai Princess Noodles which is their peanut sauce mixed with tofu (you can have meat if you want instead) and vegetables. We crave their Tom Yum soup, Masaman Curry, and my husband loves their house fried rice. They ask what level of heat you want and usually when I say "hot" it's not, but I think they have a new cook in the kitchen because recently, I actually have to cut the heat with lime; I appreciate and love it!

Free soup at lunchtime, a very good rice/tofu mixture. Yes, the Pad Thai is a little red!! Not as good as Zab Thai in my opinion. But much better than Thai Orchid. VERY busy at lunchtime. Try to arrive before 12 if you want to avoid waiting. Its a little hard to get a drink refill at times, because the place is so busy.

Its pretty close to the Intel JF location so I have gone here couple of times for the Friday Lunches. I had the thai fried rice and it was good. Its a small place so make sure to go early during the lunch time else it will be hard to find the sitting.

Always hoppin', the Thai Princess always seems to be busy. I've gone there a couple times with friends and enjoyed great Thai Iced Tea. Their cuisine has a sort of fast-food quality that leaves me wanting. I'm fairly convinced that ketchup may be the main ingredient in the Pad Thai sauce, but my friends love it. Their service is good, but sometimes their incense is going full bore and can be a little cloying. Overall, I'll go there with friends, but probably wouldn't go on my own.

I have been coming here for at least 7 years and the service and quality of food has gotten worse every time I come. I always order the same three dishes: eggplant delight which is excellent, pad se ewe, crab fried rice. The food is usually excellent but the portions have gotten smaller and smaller each time. This time my food came with an extra metal piece that the waiter stated came from the scrubbers they used to clean the pots. No apology, so I stated I didn't want the food he then offered to remake it. Sometimes the food comes out very quickly other times it is very very slow. Also the fried tofu in my noodle dish was horrible this time. Some pieces looked like it had been refried too many times while other pieces looked fresh...anyway I complained and the guy gave me 50% off my dish that was messed up but that's not the point. I go out to eat to get good quality food and this is not the place to go anymore

I always enjoy the solid food selection and decent prices at Princess Thai. I started going here after I decided that Thai Orchid down the street just freaks me out that it is huge and always empty. (That place MUST be a front for shady operations cuz I never see customers in there!) Princess Thai isn't the most authentic of Thai food that I have eaten, but the curry has solid flavors with quick service.

Upon entry, was immediately taken to a table and handed some tofu rice soup. It was on the saltier side but warm and light on the stomach. Ordered the pineapple fried rice with chicken. Came with a spring roll. The pineapple was my favorite part of the dish. The chicken was a bit dry, but paired nicely with the (curried?) rice. It was a bit heavy for my taste, but that is certainly an individual preference. I noticed some good pieces of decor as well. There are interesting statues and sculptures surrounding the dining area which make for a more immersive experience, yet open enough as to contribute to a more relaxed lunch environment.

8/15, time for an update: We have not eaten at Thai Princess for several years due to their poor health scores and reviews. It used to be a weekly thing for my husband, myself and his friends. We were nearby on Saturday and decided to give them a try, sadly my two stars still stands and that is for the food only. It appeared as tho there was one person both bussing and serving (and I am sure not washing their hands inbetween). I asked for a table THREE times and he seats me at a booth, ok so much for listening to the customer. The soup was pretty close to the same as it has always been, larger chunks of tofu now, it was good. Hubby and I both ordered Pad Garlic which was as good as we remembered. Sadly the restaurant itself is going downhill upkeep wise, I remember when it was shiny and new. It needs a good cleaning from top to bottom and some of the booth seats need to be replaced as they are ripped up. They had a few tables and did about 5 take out orders while I was there. It is a local cash cow for the Owners as I am sure many Intel folks lunch here. I think I am good for another 4 years or so before I come back.

My husband had the sweet and sour chicken lunch and loved it. I had the Princess Thai noodle lunch and I thought it was wonderful. The soup starter is very yummy. The restaurant was very clean and nice. The service was super fast.

This is one of my favorite places for lunch. The stir fry and noodle dishes are great. You can chose from chicken, beef, pork or tofu. The location is great. The only drawback is the parking. Coming to lunch here on a weekday at noon the parking can be hard to find. The staff is friendly

I'll admit up front that I have high standards. You either make the cut and get the job done right, or you don't. Hence, the one star. If a Thai restaurant can't make a fresh roll. ...uh oh. First, I like my fresh rolls to look fresh. Not smell weird and look like it was the first time the cook has ever made them. Second, I want my money's worth. There was actually three, but one didn't get in photo. Peanut sauce good, but fresh roll, again, had awful smell. Could not eat. Won't be back.

I love getting take out from here. My usual dish is Pad Thai and they give you so much food! I can eat it for dinner and then take it for lunch the next day! One time when dining in, I shared the coconut curry dish, very delicious!! Had never had curry before and now I always want it! If you are looking for a Thai place that serves great food consistently and is reasonably priced, Thai Princess is perfect!

I came here for lunch today, got a lunch special (#1 Garlic chicken. It was amazing! Best garlic sauce I have ever tasted! My food was nice and hot. Love it here! I definetly recommend lunch special here! Haven't tried dinner here yet but based on how good lunch was I'm not too worried about the food at night! Lunch price around $7-8.

Their summer rolls are made from bagged shredded lettuce you buy for taco Tuesday's at your house but a few days after you made the tacos and the iceberg lettuce is kinda browned. :-( disappointed. The white rice was the best part of my lunch. I miss good Asian food. The cashew nut chicken was ok. If I was in a rush and craving Thai I would order here again and maybe try something else. Other than that no thank you.

For a nearby Thai place, this is decent. In fact, I haven't found a better Thai place in Hillsboro. But something just seems missing! The customer service is about average, the food is a little above average but I frequently find that my chicken is under-seasoned - one time I had to send it back because it was undercooked! I love the pineapple fried rice, but if you don't order it on the spicy side it tends to lack flavor. I usually stop here when I'm in a pinch and need a quick dinner. The prices are decent, you can easily feed a family of 3 (maybe even 4) for about $25 if you divvy up two dishes and an appetizer. Overall not bad, not amazing, but not bad!

Good good, good portions! Not the best Thai I've had but, it's good! When I went, I got it to go so I'm not sure how their service is. They were polite when I came in though. I'll be back!

Very nice restaurant for lunch good server the crab fried rice was very delicious. Lots of chunky flicks of crab claw meat which adds to the flavor of the spicy rice.

Came in 1 hour before closing on a Friday's night. Staffs were friendly to give suggestions and recommendations. I end up getting the seafood combo sae-wok noodles. The portion was huge and very delicious. My dish have a lot of seafood (shrimp, squid, oysters, mostly squid). I would come back for lunch.

I love the food this restaurant puts out (when they actually get it out of the kitchen and to your table), I just want to state that right from the start of this review. Rich, flavorful sauces and good ingredients are at the forefront of their tasty dishes. However, the wait staff is bring this place down and making me never want to eat another meal there again, although I will miss it dearly( this is our go to take-out restaurant) and we eat there at least once a week. Servers are rude, and are uninterested in their job and it shows. It took us over 45 min to receive our party of three's meals, while tables of two and four seated at least 10 to 20 minutes after us received all their food, and when asked were our food was, given a long story of how their meal was not made to order and fresh like the two mango dishes that was ordered at our table. Told that they would not argue with us about the matter, although we were not arguing, simply asking where our meal was. I could go on about the poor service and how we were give a 10% discount on a bill were two meals were eaten and the third not because it sat in the back while the other dishes were being made, however there is no point. This place has good eats, I just wish the staff didn't drag it down!

I am sick of some places that gives mouth burning food when order mild spice after giving generous tip and this place is one of them. When asked they even kept defending, this is not a good place root order from. Obviously their cook and order takers did not give a crap. Does not taste good either.

HORRIBLE. If I could give no stars, I would. Save yourself the stress and go elsewhere. I called to order in for pickup and requested to get noodles instead of rice for the dish I chose. I was told that it would be 10 dollars extra to swap rice for noodles. YES, 10 DOLLARS EXTRA. I asked why and was given no straight answer *great customer service right? Once I received my food, it was disgusting. I ordered the thai princess, supposedly their signature dish, and could taste nothing but oil and chili powder. To top it off, the rice was extremely under cooked. All in all, I will never waste money on this place ever again. This is my first time ever taking time to write a reviews because this place was so unbelievably disappointing. Hopefully this saves someone else from having the same experience.

It's nothing special. The food is average and the portions aren't all that large. When I ordered the Princess Thai Delight, the server asked "how hot?" and I said "fairly hot", she then replied "REALLY HOT?".. I didn't correct her. When a Thai restaurant says "really hot" they mean it. Half way through my meal I realized that the heat wasn't from my food coming right off a walk, it was the spice, and I knew that I made a horrible mistake.
