    Great tasting thai food!

Among the best Thai restaurants I've been to on my trip of the West coast, granted I'm actually from Thailand. The owner was super nice and friendly. The food is awesome. The decorations seem casual and appropriate for Thai restaurants. Aside from the typical Pad See Ew and Pad Thai and all that, the specials were actually very nice and cheap. Anyway, I would really recommend anyone who gets a chance to pass by Hillsboro to check this place out. I would totally visit this place again next time I go around Portland.

Tasty fresh rolls and peanut sauce make this place a great Thai food restaurant. The Pad-Ke-Maow was good too, but the cashew chicken was tops! The staff were really nice.

This place is great! This is one of my husbands favorite places where he brings all his friends who in turn love the place! I love it too. The food is delicious and a good portion size. The price is excellent especially with how tasty it is, can't complain about a 9 buck curry meal! Lunch pricing is also an excellent deal. We've had different appetizers, one of my faves is the fresh rolls, and I love the Thai tea. I've never had a bad meal here. The owner is around and he's so nice and funny! The service has always been great, very attentive servers. I just wish it was open on Sundays and Mondays when I crave Thai food on those days... But I have learned to deal with it and put my Thai cravings on hold for the other days of the week lol :P

This is one of my favorite lunch spots in Hillsboro. You can get plenty of delicious & fresh food for a mere $6.95. The staff are very friendly & fast. There is never a wait time longer than 5 minutes. And the food in extremely delicious.

This place has great food, good service and the prices are lower than some Thai places I have been to. I will go back again

My delivery arrived 20 minutes late and it wasn't even that good; rather bland really. I ordered the Rama Thai (tofu in peanut sauce), white rice, fried and fresh spring rolls and Wonton soup. Everything was overdone and soggy by the time it got here. The wontons has even disintegrated.

Came back and just loved the service and the food. The chef is a sweetheart and was so concerned when I couldn't finish my delicous Larb salad due to the fact that I filled up on the mouth-watering Tom Kha. The atmosphere is very quite on Saturdays and is always like that in the evenings on Saturday. Perfect when you want a quite night out with your sweetie. My husband had the Thai Rama again and actually managed to finish off his large portion. It makes me sad to not see them with more business because I would love them to stick around for a long time but I'm also selfish and love having the place to myself. I can tell that even if it was full it would still be a very intimate relaxed atmosphere. Will definitely go back again.

Thai House is the old Thai Flambé; it's still in the same family, which are real nice folks, so I'm glad to hear that. So what's different? They've refreshed and refined the dining room, which was nice before and it is nicer now. The menu is simplified and is not quite as diverse, but they have a specials board to feature seasonal items. I've been now a couple of times, so I can report on a lunch and a dinner. The age old thing that always makes me nuts is "how hot?" I've ordered my dishes medium twice and both times it made me scream like a little girl. Screw any machismo I may have; I'm ordering mild next time. It has not been so hot that I couldn't enjoy it; it is full of flavor and nuance, but it is hot enough to wear me out. You have been warned. How to cool off? The Thai ice tea is nice enough, but I really had fun with ginger sweet ice tea; I'd recommend it. If the ginger seems a little strong for you, add just a little water and you have a really refreshing drink. Other pleasant surprises were a amuse bouche, sort of a duritos (those Hispanic wagon wheel puffed chips) with a mango "salsa". I have no idea, either, it was sort of left field, but it was tasty enough and unexpected. We had some Tom Yum with chicken which was quite good, all the usual flavors and a little something extra that I couldn't identify but I liked a lot. Two large dishes for our main, SO had the pad kee mao (which you will see as "drunken noodles" in some joints), and I had, with recommendations from our server, the cashew nut with tofu. Both were very good. I brought my sister here a couple of weeks ago and had the garlic & pepper tofu which was outstanding. To cool off further, I had some of the coconut ice cream, which I have never had before. Oh golly, yeah. That's all I need, a new sweet to fall in love with! I shake my head vigorously up and down. I recommend that. Service was impeccable both visits with different servers each time. It's across the street from the Venetian, which may have a play, a concert or a great old movie to watch, so this could be a great date night. So how much was all of that chow I've been talking about here, a good half of which we brought home? A little over $30. This is a very, very reasonable restaurant. Lunches are in the $7-9 range. We've had great experiences here and recommend it if you are in this neck of the woods, yep.

I eat here once in a while when I am in Hillsboro. They are next to one of my favorite places in Hillsboro downtown (i.e. Primrose and Tumbleweeds). I usually get a stir fry which tastes great. The owner is super friendly. I haven't been there on a busy day, but whenever I have been there service has been great.

I love going to downtown Hillsboro and this seemed like a nice place to try. The staff were all very nice and service was quick. The appetizers we got (salad rolls & crab rangoons) were super delicious. Then we got tofu pad thai and pineapple fried rice, both were pretty good. Not the best I have ever had, but definitely decent. I would go back again and just get appetizers maybe.

Jury Duty, Day #2. It's lunch break, and time to again walk the streets of Downtown Hillsboro looking for a quick lunch. Today feels like Thai to me, and what better a place to stop in for Thai food than a place called Thai House, eh? 11:45am, Tuesday. I walked in and was warmly greeted almost immediately. The place was less than half full. I decided on the Pad See Ew with Chicken, a platter of wide (1.5") noodles, broccoli, egg, carrot and choice of meat. They offer four levels of spiciness: mild, medium, hot, or Thai hot. While I normally would order it uber-spicy, given my impending return to a jury box I opted to back if off a tick and go "regular hot". Shortly after my order, I was brought a small cup of soup--a flavorful chicken broth with rice and thinly sliced veggies in it. For the "free side soup" it really was quite good and upon that last scrape of the cup's bottom I found myself wishing there had been just a tad more. The Pad See Ew arrived after about 10 minutes. I'd never had Pad See Ew before, so I really can't compare it to that of anywhere else, so I don't know if it was a great Pad See Ew, or a lousy one. That said, it was very flavorful, just the perfect amount of spice, and had a nice complexity to it--no one single flavor stood out, it was just generally very good. The broccoli was perfectly cooked, hot but still crisp as were the carrot slices. Chicken was decent, albeit perhaps a tad overcooked (I'm a white-meat chicken snob so probably more picky than most). This was definitely noodle heavy--I mean I realize it's a noodle dish I ordered, but I guess I'd expected there to be a bit more balance between noodles (90% by volume) and everything else (10%). But maybe that's just the way Pad See Ew is supposed to be. Honestly, I came away very satisfied with the dish. It was a good amount of food for lunch, especially since it was only $6.95 (by means of comparison, many of the regular subs at Subway across the street are $6.50-$7, so a decent hot lunch for that price isn't bad). They had about 20 different platters you could order, and all were in the $6.95 to $8.95 range depending on what meat you ordered it with. In and out in well under a half an hour, service with a smile kept the water full. Great lunch, and I'll be back to try something new next time.

I've been cutting the carbs lately, so I ordered the Garlic Black Pepper Pork, and I asked for no rice. They specifically asked if I'd like more veggies instead-YES! Most places I've asked either charge extra or don't give you anything in exchange for the rice, sometimes a salad, but here they offered to actually add more veggies to my plate. Nice touch. What floated its way to my table was a colorful plate full of veggies, with pork and a tasty sauce. A lady at a table next to me even ordered, "What I was having". It was a very good, and fairly healthy dish. I also ordered the tom yum, which was ok but slightly disappointing, considering it was barely larger than a cereal bowl for $7. It was better than some places though. All in all, I'm excited to try it again!

The Thai hot was actually hot. That alone gives this cute lil place 4 stars. The wonton soup my son ordered looked crazy good. (I'd like to tell you it tasted good as well but unfortunately, he was unwilling to share). My youngest wee one ordered a dragon shrimp apetizer, which looked quite impressive on the plate and the shrimp were ginormous. Panang? Excellent. Noodles? Also practically perfect. If they are this good next time we come, I'll be happy to give them 5 stars.

  • Jayne M.

I'm giving a 2 because we actually do like their food--it's not amazing, but it's good. It's the service that deserves a low rating. We ordered take-out and when the time it was supposed to have been delivered had come and gone, I picked up my phone to call and saw that I had a missed call. They called 35 minutes after I ordered. No message was left. So, I called to find out if they had a question about what we'd ordered and was told that they aren't delivering today. They didn't apologize and they didn't sound like they cared at all. Just tough luck for our family. I won't be giving them my business ever again. I'd think the least they could have done was leave a message--we waited an hour only to find out we needed to figure out something else for dinner. This was a totally unacceptable lack of service.

So good!! I was actually reading reviews for Thai orchid and this restaurant was said to be much better. So I decided to give it a try and an'm glad I did!! The prices are good and the dinner portions are plentiful. I had Pad See Ew mild (yeah I know I'm a weakling with spice),,had amazing flavor and noodles were to soaking with soy sauce. Chicken and broccoli had fantastic flavor and didn't taste like soy sauce. My husband had pad Thai and loved it!! He even stopped himself from eating it all so he could have it for lunch tomorrow :). Great place for Thai take out!

I have come here a couple times for lunch. I don't eat spicy food, but the bland food is quiet good. The price is right for a casual lunch, and the food is worth it.

We discovered Thai House almost a year ago and have been back 4-5 times since. My husband claims he doesn't care for Thai food but he always loves what he gets here. Everything we have had here has been excellent. Specific recommendations would be Mussaman Curry (peanut curry), Green Bean stir fry, Dragon shrimp Appetizer and the fried ice cream. It doesn't seem like the sort of place that would be super kid friendly but the owner and servers have always been so welcoming and helpful with our toddler. The service in general has always been great. I created my account just so I could write this review because we love everything about Thai House!

  • Jeff W.

Thai ice tea is the best I've ever had. Lunch menu is extensive, and reasonably priced. Asked for medium spice and found it almost too hot for my palate. My wife thought medium spice was perfect. We were there at lunch time and the service was prompt and friendly. We'll be going back soon.

    (5)
  • Elaine P.

Yes, the food may be good. I don't know... I ordered it mild but it was spicy so I couldn't eat it. There were only two staff there, including the owner. We ordered ice tea, which never came. The owner, who also does the cash register, laughed it off and didn't charge us! It took us over an hour to get out of there. We asked for the check but that was impossible. A huge party was emptying, paying separate checks. I was tempted to just leave $40 on the table and call it good, but I couldn't. The most remarkable part of the entire thing was when the owner thought I made a mistake when I didn't leave a tip. Sorry, honey, this is no mistake. The service is horrible here, and I will never go again. CASE CLOSED!

I've had a really hard time finding food that is GOOD in Hillsboro. I'm not a huge fan of Thai, and it does seem that all the food here is Asian or Mexican--so I'm often left with little to eat. My husband and I decided to try this place tonight, and I am glad we did. Though I don't love Asian food of any type, the sauce on the Ginger stir fry was not overbearing, it was tasty, and complementary to the dish. Spring rolls were good, they were happy to do one raw and one fried, as I like them friend and my husband does not. The vegetables were not overcooked, they were crisp and good. The sticky rice was a nice touch. The fried ice cream...well it wasn't great, but it was okay. Service is fantastic, they are very attentive.

I found this on Yelp and headed in. The service here is very friendly and efficient. The "Thai Spicy" heat level is still pretty gringo for me, but in all fairness my tongue is apparently made of asbestos and nothing will truly ever be spicy enough, with exception of 6 stars at Lemongrass. The red curry with chicken was very good. Very good indeed. Make sure if you order the Ginger Tea, that you order it either hot or cold. Otherwise, they'll bring it iced. I will definitely be back.

  • Michael F.

I've enjoyed lots of dishes here, and I appreciate the friendly service from the owner and his family. It seems to me that they've slightly toned down the hotness levels in the last few months: although I like fiery food, I used to find that "hot" here was just a bit more than I could take, and beyond "hot" there was the "Thai hot" option, which I couldn't imagine. So I would wuss out with "medium" while my wife settled for "mild." At some point they expanded the menu, and although the stir fry dishes and curries were fine and remain so, for me the new star of the show is their Khao Soi. It's the best I've had -- not too soupy, just the right balance between crisp and soft noodles, and at the "hot" level I can't really imagine anything better. I'm glad we live close to Thai House.

  • Maggie L.

Yum! I try to come here as often as I can. I always order either the Pad Thai (spicy) or the Tom Yum soup with tofu (also spicy). Never disappoints and the owner is so friendly and welcoming.

My uncle owns a Thai restaurant in Minneapolis, MN. and I haven't been able to find a real good one since. Thai House is the exception. They have great food at a good price, the food is consistent and they are about the friendliest people I have met since we moved here 5 years ago. I usually get take out but when I get delivery they say 45 minutes but usually show up at 25 minutes.

    (4)
  • Matt W.

My staple for Thai takeout on the west side. The food is great, the right amount of spice (although could be too much for some), not greasy at all, and very fresh. Definitely better than any other Thai place that I have been to in Hillsboro. I have been happy with everything that I have ordered so far, but I highly recommend the pineapple curry.

  • Angel M.

Another gem in Downtown Hillsboro! It's true, despite what the misconception may be, there is some great little places in Downtown. Thai House cuisine is the latest addition to the area, not to be confused with Thai Flombe which previously occupied the same location. There are a lot of things this place does right, so I'll start with the first impression; the place it self is clean and what I can only describe as authentic. Bright colors on the walls and the classic pictures from Thailand that you see in any faux-thentic Thai joint. The tables are clean, the dishes and silverware seemed pretty new, and surprisingly, the tables have cloth napkins folded into origami shapes, usually the type of thing that is reserved for the "fancier" places, not at place that serves a $5.95 Thai BBQ Chicken... which by the way is AMAZING!! But more on that later. The Food is great. I had the opportunity to eat there prior to the new ownership, and before, well... it was exactly what you would expect from a hole in the wall Thai joint, cheap noodles, over-sauted vegetables, and inconsistent food any time I ate there. But now, there are so many options on the menu that it makes it hard not want to go in every other day and order something different every time! Grant it, you can order Pad Thai at any place and each time you will get something different, so I would skip the Pad Thai (unless you really love Pad Thai) and try the other stuff on the menu. I've tried the Pad Kee Mao, Pad See Ew, The Yellow Curry, Panang Curry, Spring Rolls, Kai Yang (BBQ Chicken), Tom Yum, Tom Kha, and I am not really sure if this is on the menu or not but its my personal favorite, Crispy Basil leaves and Chicken. As you can see, I could go on about how great the food is for many, many reasons (fresh vegetables, fresh meat, immaculate presentation). But truly the one thing that makes it probably the best place to eat in Downtown (no offense to any of the other great restaurants in Downtown) is the Owner and his staff... which I believe is primarily composed of family. This is the kind of place you bring your family to because the staff has a way to make your feel like family. The kind of place where the owner comes out and greets you after he makes your meal, where the wait staff remembers your name and what your "usual" order is. The kind of place where you can order something that may not be on the menu but they are kind enough to make it for you anyway. Its a great little place... and did I mention that the BBQ chicken is probably the best lunch special anywhere?!? But really, its that good. I'll mention one more thing regardless of how cliche I may sound for saying this but, my only problem with this restaurant is the pricing. For the amount and quality of food that you get, accompanied by the service and the appearance of the place it self... it just seems that this place is maybe $1.50 - $2.00 under priced per dish in comparison to most places. But I guess that's what makes it great.

We ordered take-out last night in order to try this place out. I have to say, everything was pretty good, except that the spicy level was ULTRA HOT! I'm not used to being put off by spicy food, either! I would recommend ordering either mild or medium level of spice. Excellent fried rice! Panang Curry could use a stronger coconut presence. The pad thai seemed good, but like I said, we ordered it spicy, and I couldn't even eat it! We'll go back again and check out some other menu items.

It IS as good as it gets. This is by far the best Thai restaurant I've been in throughout the Portland or West side area. Not only are the owners always with a smile and make you feel welcome (can you imagine, real customer service), but the portions are filling, specials are creative and the flavor and aroma keeps you coming back. Great place to meet, relax and enjoy authentic Thai Cuisine Don't forget to try the Thai Tea. Soooo refreshing. They even have a good selection of wine and Thai beers. This is MY choice for Thai food!

  • Mike D.

I had the green curry and I was not impressed. I was hoping that when they reopened with a new name it would be better than thai flambe. It seems a lot of people like this place but I guess it's just not the thai food place for me.

Very tasty pot stickers and cashew chicken dish. Welcoming host and waitress. I highly recommend . Included soup and tea were tepid.

  • Lisa W.

The reviews on Yelp are misleading--this place is a perfectly OK/average/typical Thai food joint--but not mind blowing. If you're stuck out in Hillsboro it's fine for a work lunch with co-workers, it's neutral enough to be good for groups that aren't adventuresome. I ordered the pumpkin curry with chicken and requested the most spicy level of heat, and there was absolutely no bite or kick to it at all.

Never disappointed by these guys. Soup was wonderful. Food was quick, good portion, and always very tasty!!

I couldn't decide between two or three stars, so for the overall experience three seems most fair. Fast and friendly service, good and clean atmosphere and good prices. The food, unfortunately, was just so-so. The good...complimentary chicken noodle soup was very tasty with a strong black pepper note. I love black pepper and the broth was yummy. The Spring Rolls were perfectly crisp and presented in an attractive glass sliced in half, but really lacked flavor. The only thing I could taste was plain cabbage, that was it. The Pad Thai lacked flavor as well and both the noodles and shrimp were a little tough to bite through. Noodles were undercooked and shrimp overcooked. These are the two things I order every time I'm at a Thai place, so I've had dozens of variations. This wasn't the worst, but based on flavor alone it comes close. I wouldn't eat here unless I had a Thai craving that was killing me, but I would try other dishes. Again, very friendly and welcoming service and that counts for a lot, a whole star, in fact. :)

If this review was on the food alone it would be 5/5, but since it is on the overall experience.... The server sat my friend and I at a nice window seat right in the front. I order a thai iced tea. She did not bring it and I asked for it a couple more times after she brought the water. We had to ask several times for water refills and for the chilli paste. I am not sure if there was a language barrier, or if she simply did not want to talk to us, but I did not feel welcome at all. The food however was excellent, fresh and the pad thai was great! deep flavor, not soggy at all! The spicy green beans were cooked to perfection and the tofu was devine as well. The lunch prices we also very reasonable as well. $7.50 per dish. I am hoping the young woman that helped us was having an off day so I can modify this review to 5/5!

Originally gave a good review, but had to change it. Food didnt taste bad until it made me sick. I got serious food poisoning from this place!! Food: I had the Tom Kha soup with chicken and the yellow curry with chicken. The soup was supposed to be 2star but lacked spice. It was very sweet compared to every Tom Kha I've had, but not bad in flavor if not comparing it to anything else. It came out hot and very quickly. The yellow curry was very good, but on the sweet side as well. It was a little spicier, but not quite what I expected for 3 stars. It came with rice, which was nice. It came out quickly and was very hot. The chicken on both dishes had definitely been cooking a while, but wasn't tough like it was reheated. Service: it took a while for anyone to notice me at the front. That is probably because 1 server was greeting, seating, serving and bussing. She was friendly I guess, but I couldn't give a good or bad review because she said less than 10 words to me. I don't blame it on her though. She was too busy to do more. Menu: great selection!

Food is not that good. Just another typical Americanized Thai Food. Service is not good, not attentive either. We are here and the place is not busy, only two tables and the waitress doesn't seem to want to take our order. We have to do an obnoxious arm movement to get her attention. We almost walk out and go somewhere else.

Just by looking at the building, this southeastern Asian restaurant would easily be over looked by many. When entering the domain, the smell and ambiance may be a little off-putting, but the food was delivered quickly by a speedy little server. The end price was under $40 for a family of four, a hard to come by deal. I would recommend this restaurant.

Service was good! Food was great! The only issue I have is I ordered medium spicy for my pad Thai and it was at too hot. I love hot food and I am used to hot food, this was way too hot! But I continued to eat it because it was so good! The atmosphere was really nice! Good for dates :) also, not buy when my boyfriend and I went on a Thursday around 12. I would recommend this place!

The food at Thai House is fantastic! I'd gone to the same Thai restaurant in my hometown for 10 years, so I was hesitant to try a new place for fear of it not being as good, but I'm so glad I decided to try Thai House! I'm pretty picky about how I order my food (panang curry with extra chicken and no vegetables), but I've been here 4-5 times now and they always get it right. The service is always great, but this last time the guy was so friendly that it just made my entire day so much better! My only complaint is that I wish they had a larger delivery radius; I'm just baaaarely out of their range. On that note, if they did widen their radius, I wish they would also deliver before 4pm. That being said, the food is so good that it's worth dealing with traffic!

Little sister took me out for dinner last night and we felt like Thai food and came here. We were seated immediately and given a choice of window or not. We were served water right away and were given time to actually peruse the menu at our leisure. Since I had never been there it was very nice not to have someone stand over me while I decided what to try. As usual, whenever we try a new restaurant, we order a variety of things just to get a good range. The appetizer came out hot and ready; but they forgot one of the things we ordered, (hence the four stars). The Thai ice tea was wonderful; full of flavor. The other things we ordered were curry duck, crispy chicken with basil, and crab fried rice. All of it was good. The pineapple curry they use on the duck was mild, which was good for me, but my sister thought it was a little too hot for her. You can adjust the heat, you just have to tell them when ordering. We had leftovers for lunch the next day, and the prices were very reasonable. However, they did charge us for the dish that never arrived; but took it off once little sis pointed it out. All-in-all this was a really good restaurant and the service was just fine. We'll be back. It's located right in the heart of downtown Hillsboro on Main Street.

This cute little place is great! Luch choice included tofu Pad Thai. I ordered it medium spicy and let me just say it was spicy! This was ok with me because I dig it spicy, and usually add more spice but no need this time. If you are someone who doesn't like it hot, make darn sure you let your server know (and I mean stress it to them). Serving size was generous, enough for lunch and have enough left for dinner. I went in during the busy lunch rush, and was seated right away ordered and had my dish in less than 10 minutes!

I did delivery. I ordered crab ragoons, cucumber salad, and Thai rama with noodles instead of rice. SO DELICIOUS. The gentleman who delivered our food was so cheery and polite, probably the best delivery I've had in ages. The cucumber salad is meal size, not appetizer. Great Thai food and very reasonable prices. Support local business, go see them!

We go here a lot because it's one of the few places in downtown Hillsboro we can stand, and one of the few that has a vegan option. 90% of the time when we order brown rice, they give us white rice. They just can't seem to remember. Most of the sauces seem to contain fish oil, but they don't know what are in their own sauces if you ask... I'm assuming they order the sauces from another company and that they are not made in house. I absolutely detest the taste of seafood so that's a big problem for me. The only thing I've found to be safe to order there are the curries and the summer rolls. If they actually get my order right, and I get a thai hot curry with tofu and brown rice, it's pretty good food.

They have the absolute best Tom Kha soup. I live just off of Main Street and have slowly been sampling each restaurant along the street, but I always go back to Thai House. I like the atmosphere and they've really made me fall in love with Thai food. The pad Thai isn't my absolute favorite (it's pretty sweet) and how spicy they make things seems to be inconsistent, but these things don't deter me from stopping here when I'm craving Thai. Owner is super friendly as well!

Terrible service. I was in a group of 3. We arrived about 12:15 and was immediately seated. At about 12:25 our waitress finally came to our table to take our order. We ordered 3 Pad Thai's, 2 orders of Crab Rangoons, aThai Iced Tea, and two waters. The waitress proceeded to leave our table and go and fill all the customers waters that were seated after us. At about 12:40 our Crab Rangoons finally arrive, stone cold! Then the Thai Iced tea came. After about 10 more minutes of waiting and seeing all the customers who arrived after is eating and almost finished with their meals we asked to have are orders to go and pay so that we were not late returning to work. Then she couldn't find our ticket so we had to point it out to her on the counter, still no apology mind you. I decided to bring up the wait time and the response I got was "yeah we make everything fresh and hard when a lot of people come at same time." She then proceeded to charge us for the food. Wasted an entire lunch. And now that I am finally eating at my desk, it's mediocre Thai. NOT A FAN!

Hmmm, I'm not sure what to say about this place. Decided to give it a try based on yelp. Went in on a quiet week night. There was a group of six or so and me. Took a bit to seat me and take the order. Most of the other Thai places I've been to are faster with meal service than this place. Ordered my standard noodle dish. It was tasty, but just slightly off of what I expected. Can't really put my finger on it, but just didn't do it for me. They didn't check up on me during the meal (come on, I was basically the only customer) and didn't get refill on beverage until end of the meal. Sorry, this place just didn't do it for me. Gave it a try, Oh Well.

This place is really great, the food, the service, pretty much everything. Jack, the owner, is really nice and friendly and we loved talking to him. We had fresh rolls, tom kah soup with shrimp, pineapple curry, mango sticky rice and thai iced tea. All that was left was a little soup and some of the dessert, it was that good. The soup was very flavorful and one of the only places I have been where they actually include multiple ingredients beyond the meat of choice and mushrooms. This had it all, lemongrass, cilantro, tomatoes, shrimp, mushrooms, and galanga. The peanut sauce was awesome, if there had been a double serving of it I wouldn't have complained. The only thing I would have changed was shrimp instead of tofu in the fresh rolls, but that's a personal preference and since I generally dislike tofu the fact that I loved this spring rolls just goes to show the quality. The dessert came with a ton of mango, and the thai iced tea was some of the best I have had in the Portland area, which seems like a strange thing to say, after all, tea is tea, but seriously. This tea was the perfect balance of ingredients, and not watered down like many places. I will definitely be back.

Thai ice tea is the best I've ever had. Lunch menu is extensive, and reasonably priced. Asked for medium spice and found it almost too hot for my palate. My wife thought medium spice was perfect. We were there at lunch time and the service was prompt and friendly. We'll be going back soon.

Let me start by saying that I really, really wanted to like this place. They are so friendly and accommodating. They make you feel like you are a guest in their house and, really, if you have read any of my other reviews, you know how important good service is to me. If I were rating them on service alone, they'd definitely get 5 stars! Alas, the fare is a primary issue and, well, it's not good. The presentation is gorgeous, but the flavor is just off. I don't quite know how to even explain it. I love Thai food. I've frequented many Thai restaurants and I tend to get one of two dishes: Pad Thai or Pad See Ew. My boyfriend and I got one of each and it was just bad. Tasted like no Thai food we'd ever eaten before, was absolutely reeking of fish sauce and was not edible. Food: 0 stars Service: 5 stars

This place is good. And cheap. And spicy (I like a good spice). And the owner is a real nice guy. I had the Pad Thai and it was sweet, spicy, and peanuty. I really enjoyed it. It was plated as if the place cost 3x what was listed. The girlfriend had the stir fry and I snuck a taste and it was also delish. For a dinner under $20 (no drinks), I highly suggest.

My favorite Thai restaurant in Hillsboro. Excellent Pad Thai and the owner and staff are very nice. Great place to get take out as well. They give you a complementary cup of soup while you are waiting. Their soups are wonderful tasting as well! Pad See Ew is also very good. This place is getting more and more popular as I have been seeing it fill up more often now.

I've traveled extensively and never found a restaurant so consistently good. My wife and I were surprised with a special steamed ginger fish. Fabulous! vegetables perfectly cooked and tender fresh fish. Curries and soups were huge with flavor. WE WILL RETURN!

Very, very tasty food Friendly service that was good Nice decor with seating areas for four GREAT ginger tea we got an extra pot for free! Also, a great locale, on a shopping street parking might be scarce, so use your feet. Easy to recommen' I'll be back again.

Good place for your traditional Pad Thai. I have been here a few times and am a huge fan of thai. This place is one of the better around, especially given the variety in a place like down town Hillsboro. Inside is very basic and the service was pretty good. If you are just looking for a good quick Thai place I would definitely recommend trying this place out!

I had the green curry and I was not impressed. I was hoping that when they reopened with a new name it would be better than thai flambe. It seems a lot of people like this place but I guess it's just not the thai food place for me.

Thai ice tea is the best I've ever had. Lunch menu is extensive, and reasonably priced. Asked for medium spice and found it almost too hot for my palate. My wife thought medium spice was perfect. We were there at lunch time and the service was prompt and friendly. We'll be going back soon.

I've traveled extensively and never found a restaurant so consistently good. My wife and I were surprised with a special steamed ginger fish. Fabulous! vegetables perfectly cooked and tender fresh fish. Curries and soups were huge with flavor. WE WILL RETURN!

Tasty fresh rolls and peanut sauce make this place a great Thai food restaurant. The Pad-Ke-Maow was good too, but the cashew chicken was tops! The staff were really nice.

I had the green curry and I was not impressed. I was hoping that when they reopened with a new name it would be better than thai flambe. It seems a lot of people like this place but I guess it's just not the thai food place for me.
