Panera bread has the best baguettes I ever had in the US. It's quality is superb and its on par and even better than the baguettes you get from Paris. The price is a little expensive than other grocery stores like Fred Meyer or Safeway, but there is no comparison. What I really like about the baguette from Panera bread is that it's chewy inside but crispy on the outside, perfect combo. Just a tip, order a whole baguette, ask them to heat it up in the oven and then eat it with butter, its delicious.

This is probably my favorite place to eat in town. The food is great quality and inexpensive. My favorites are the BBQ chicken flatbread, the Mac and cheese, the low fat chicken noodle soup, and the cookies! I used to go after my braces got tightened and get soup and a smoothie, and now I go all the time!

Still gross, but I feel the need to update. In a fit of misguided forgiveness, my friend and I decided to order some Panera this afternoon. I swore I'd never go back, but I figured it couldn't hurt to give them one last chance. We opened up our food and my sandwich smelled weird; It had this odor I couldn't quite place and I opted to stick to my tortellini alfredo. Something just didn't taste right, so after a few bites, I just threw my whole meal away. I had a bad stomach ache for a few hours, but I'm fine now. My friend, on the other hand, was not so lucky. He's spent his evening becoming best friends with his toilet bowl because he can't stop throwing up. And for the record, Panera was the only thing either of us had eaten at all today. Not only will I never be back EVER AGAIN (for real this time), but we'll be calling the health department about the food poisoning. This place should be shut down.

Expensive for the quality and quantity you get. Came here for lunch and got a soup and sandwich (panini). The food was decent but it's pretty expensive. It's clean, friendly, well-kept and nice, just like all the other panera locations. It just happened that I went during my birthday month and with the Panera card, you get a FREE pastry! So I got a free carrot cake (yay!) which was delicious. I would probably not come back here for lunch again (like soups, salads, sandwiches) but I'll probably come back for the baked goods.

Great smoked turkey sandwich but a little spendy for the portion size. Enjoyed the fresh bread and other ingredients but not for their prices.

Panera totally impressed me tonight. I was craving a turkey-bacon-avocado sandwich, but dreading a stop at the store after work. I tried Panera online ordering for the first time ever- I've never done online food ordering of any kind. So. Cool. It's like a food genie, except I didn't have to interact with people. Awesome. Ordering was easy. Pick up time selected. Problem: I was still working when that pick up time rolled around. Then it passed. Sigh. I'd paid. I was looking forward to my sandwich. I called, explained, and the lovely lady said "no problem." Two hours later, I walked in and asked for my pick up order. After a moment of confusion, someone knew to look in the walkin, where my sandwich was waiting. Cold, fresh, and effortless. They were so nice and the whole process surprised me. The sandwich was great- made to specifications, fresh ingredients, really nice legit turkey.... mmmmm, I'd like another please.

We used to frequent this chain when we lived in Chicago and Orlando. Good food and comfortable ambience I also appreciate the wifi.

I love Panera Bread, and I frequent this location pretty regularly as it is one of the closer lunch options near work. Their food is delicious; I love the "you pick 2 option" that lets you get smaller portions of regular menu items for a reduced price. Who doesn't appreciate variation in their meal? Recently they simplified the menu by giving a price for if it is included in a you pick 2 deal or just on its own. They also include calorie counts for each each menu option on the large menu board, which is extremely helpful if you are trying to be calorie-aware. If you haven't been to a Panera before, here's the drill: you order at the counter, get a buzzers, get your beverage and find a seat, and then pick up your food less than 5 minutes later once your buzzer starts going crazy. You bus your own table - each trash bin has sections for you to separate out your silverware / dishes / trash. That being said, sometimes the employees at this location are really on top of things and bus your tables for you while you are sitting and chatting after your meal, but that is the exception, not the rule. I'd definitely recommend signing up for their "My Panera" rewards card as they occasionally give you deals and coupons pre-loaded onto your card. Just recently I came in, and they told me I had a "$2 off any sandwich deal," so that was pretty great. Try to use your self control and resist buying the delicious baked goods spread out in the display counter next to the cashiers, but I usually end up caving and getting one of their aaaamazing shortbread cookies. If you come here in winter, there are a couple of prime seats next to their indoor fireplace that stay toasty. There is outdoor seating, as well, that is nice in the summer. I would give this location 5 stars, except the parking lot is awful around lunch time. It is really challenging to find a parking spot. Best meal: you pick 2 french onion soup and Asian chicken salad with the baguette and a shortbread cookie.

we ordered food but they never gave us our food or pager but they manège to charge my credit card When we asked the manager where is our food she said sorry do you still want your food or we can give your money back? I told her I don't want money back we just want our food, but half of our food we never got it even after we asked the cashier that took our money. We have been coming to Panera since they open in Beaverton area but this one is one of the worst Penara in the area. I have been going to this Hillsboro Penera every morning. Their food is good but their customer service is bad. This review is just for their customer service not for their quality of food.

Visited this location numerous times but never wrote a review until now. I felt the excellent services from the manager warranted a review. Several weeks ago my boyfriend ordered a Fuji Apple Chicken Salad online for a Rapid Pick Up . The online ordering process was very convenient and the pick up was easy. Given the amount of food and the quality of the salad $8.29 was a decent value, though I still consider Panera a fast food establishment. It was an excellent salad packed to the top of box. All the added items and substitutions were done correctly, except for the chicken which was no where to be found. Called up Panera to see if we can go back to pick up the chicken, and was asked to come back in for a replacement. When we went back to the restaurant solely expecting to just pick up the missing chicken when the manager came out to give us a couple of food vouchers as a courtesy and personally apologized for the error.. We thought it was a very minor mistake, but it was nice to see the manager taken it seriously and showed the customers his appreciations. We were really impressed by the way we were treated by the employees and the management. In general their food is delicious. One exception is their new Soba Noodle Broth Bowl. It was pretty bland and definitely not worth the $8 charged. I think I will stick with the salads and the pastries!

Damn good bread and the sam salad combos are pretty good. They are usually busy but still they get out orders in good time. The ice tea is fresh and they have some outdoor dog friendly seating as well.

Oh my goodness I'm in love with the strawberry salad. It was really hot out, and I felt like a nice light salad. My companion wanted a sandwich so we shared the 'pick 2' deal, with a half turkey sandwich and the strawberry salad. It was amazing. Super fresh veggies that were nice and cool. Strawberries, pineapple, baby oranges, I will go back just for that salad. It was that good.

Just visited for breakfast and ordered ham egg and cheese sandwich which was ok- a bit salty and overpriced but ok. The problem is... the sandwich was served on a piece of paper in a disgusting, horribly nasty, tray with dried leftover food stuck on... seriously. Whoever is serving the food should pay more attention.

Oh Panera how I love your food! I wish I could sample your amazing bakery items daily, but alas I would be 300 pounds, and my butt wouldn't fit in my Mini Cooper. I love coming here for lunch, there's always good veggie/vegan options available. I don't think anything in the bakery is gluten-free, but they mark on the board items that are/aren't gluten-free for "regular" dining. My only complaint, and it's really just an observation, is the counter staff is VERY EAGER to take your order. Like everyone else, I'm not going to stand in line until I know what I want - because like everyone else, I find nothing more irritating than waiting behind someone at the register who is reading the entire menu aloud. So, I stand in the back, with the rest of us considerate folk, and then stroll up to the register once I'm ready. All the while, the cashiers are saying (louder than you'd realize) "I CAN HELP THE NEXT PERSON HERE". Ok ok ok, I get it, you can help me, and I'll head RIGHT over once I've figured it out....please stop yelling, I have serious decisions I have to make first....

I used to love Panera, but I have a few issues with their current menu offerings. They keep changing things, and now they have removed their roast beef sandwich--they offer like 3 turkey ones, but no roast beef. Steak is not the same as roast beef.

I think I've said this about another Panera review - but it stands true!! - but Panera's menu encourages...annoying, lackadaisical gape mouthed staring that TAKES FOREVER. Lines are scattered, people are meandering....bah. BAH. I get annoyed because I have my order down pat : Cheddar Broccoli in a bread bowl, french baguette & a cookie for later. Bam, wham, give me that pager and it's ready in 2 minutes or less. (Let me pause here, I've tried other food items - all of which are good, but the listed above is my favorite). The food is always fresh, the service is always prompt & polite. It gets busy at lunch time but you can usually find a place to sit and veg out (or carbo load like me). This locale is a good one for sure.

Wow I enjoy this place. Their food is really delicious. There are so many good and healthy options that everyone can find something they would really enjoy. The managers are super friendly and very helpful. It can get kinda busy but there is always a seat available. They even have a fire place. I would recommend the broccoli cheese soup. The Asiago bread loaf is to die for! That loaf doesn't last long in our house! And the desserts I can take them or leave them...most of the time they are very dry. And I believe they have outdoor seating as well.

I like Panera bread a lot mainly for their fresh Bagels and awesome Panini sandwiches. I like a few bagel flavors like the Cinnamon Crunch & chcolate chip and the hazelnut spread is very good with these. I am also a fan of their Chicken panini sandwiches and the 1/2 sandwich/soup combo is a decent meal for lunches. Their light roast coffee is also good for coffee lovers who like their coffee not too dark. Overall a very good place with good food, cleanliness and great service.

  • Yvett R.

Yes, I'm one of those. I walk in and stand in front of the menu with my mouth wide open and forget how to read, have no idea what a sandwich is, need someone to tell me what the heck "soup" is and just really hope that while staring at the board, someone will tell me exactly just what I want. To my defense, I let people behind me go first, or just stand out of the way so I can stare out of people's way. I thought I'd figured out my meal: half a turkey bravo sandwich, tomato soup, a bag of chips, a regular drink (hibiscus tea) and I say yes to the 99 cent pastry (to go). I say I thought I had it down, because now with the Panera card, every now and then, they send us specials like $2 off a pasta bowl, free coffee and such. That throws a wrench in the plans and puts me right back to staring at the menu. Service at this location is quick and friendly, even with people that take forever like me. The only downside that I've seen so far is that parking during lunch time can be a nightmare.

Panera has a wonderful record of corporate giving . . . and tasty breads and soups. This location has friendly staff but not as quick as Cedar Hills location. Not sure what lunch hour looks like but usually not too crowded on weekends. Nice place to grab lunch and stay with a book and a coffee.

Another great Panera experience. But, hey, cinnamon and sugar baked together can only lead to goodness. The baked food are always fresh and delicious. The soups and sandwiches are tasty. The service is always pleasant and quick. The restaurant is alway clean. All in all, we enjoy coming here for breakfast or lunch or dinner. Today I had the Cinnamon Coffeecake. It was very good.

Love Panera Bread. I worked at one in Colorado with a drive through. This one seemed to be more calm and would be fun to work at. Anyway, based on the food, amazing as always. Love the mediterranian veggy, on sour dough, extra cilantro hummus. Deeeelish!

My fav place for sandwiches, soups, salads and baked goods. Cozy atmosphere, fireplace, real dishes and silver utensils. I appreciate the wifi but not the people who hog the booths doing their work, long after they've finished their meal (its rude!) Fresh baked breads and hormone/antibiotic free meats. Creamy, rich sauces, lots of combinations and they handle special requests and changes with a smile. I love their .99 cookie deal!

I like Panera, I love that there is a consistency between all of the bakery/cafés that is remarkable when you think about how all of the baked goods are baked in each location and all. And I used to really be much more enthusiastic about these quick service restaurants. I'm just not in love. Maybe the consistency makes it too predictable. Maybe it was the black bean soup that I had seemed a little too smooth, like some thickener in the mix. My salad was lovely to look at yet the raspberry dressing rendered it boring. Maybe it was that looking at all those baked goods, which are crazy expensive and not being able to join in eating it makes me bitter. I don't think so. Well, I am a little bitter, but it's my diet not their fault. But my meal was predictable to the point of being boring and the lovely restaurant, the oh-kay service just left me...meh. If I am going to toss ten bucks onto the counter for lunch, I expect a little more.

Wish we had this place in Boise. They had Tabasco for my potato soup! You can't beat this quality of food for the price. It was a little crowded for a 1:30 lunch but we were able to still find a table for 2 by the fire place.

  • Shaun C.

The crew working at this location HUSTLES. They run the place impressively, every team member. I can see what's happening behind the counter with them any time I go there. I think this is how they manage to handle huge lunch crowds yet keep the lines short and wait times short. The General Manager (Neil) is out with the team working side-by-side with them, or out tending to customers in the seating area (probably the best place to gauge how well his team is doing in the back). I saw him proactively give a lady her money back at her table for a dressing packet being expired, he handled it perfectly. Once I asked a different manager (Jim) why a certain sandwich was so much higher in calories than the others and he was able to explain exactly why. Overall, they work hard, they hustle and all the while they are super friendly. This wins big points for me. It's worth it to get a Panera card for the discounts. The food is delicious for the price. The sandwiches are large and the fresh custom breads puts them way ahead of subway or jimmy johns. They do what they do very well, even for a chain. Great place to get coffee, sit by a fire they always have going and use WiFi. I'll keep going back. Nice job.

Worst Panera experience in any state I've ever had. Small portions, out of EVERYTHING, the manager can't take correct orders and makes no attempt to rectify her mistake. Also, what Panera runs out of their baguettes? Just cut up some bread and offer that! Did I mention they've removed the Cuban sandwich which happens to be the whole reason I came today? FAIL!!

Why I love this place: spacious, free wi-fi, best tomato soup in town, terrific bread, flavorful sandwiches, clean and neat, and quick service There really isn't anything bad I can say about the place. I spent a good amount of my time here as a student - studying and having meals. I also enjoyed their Chai Teas - super sweet and tasty. Overall, there was something about this place that always had me coming back... the people were nice and there was always a good spot to sit. This can be a place for group study sessions, hang outs, or to relax. I sure miss it here.

Yummmm. Just had the clam chowder in a bread bowl. (I'm a sucker for the bread bowl) One of the better chowders around and I'm really picky when it comes to my clam chowder. Probably should go with the bowl though and have the baguette on the side to get more of the wonderful chowder. My daughter absolutely loves the black bean soup. It's so good, we get the catering size and take it home to freeze so she can have it whenever she likes. We were greeted with a sample cookie (yes I know the marketing reasons behind it and yes, the kids got cookies). They also had a sample of the peach smoothies today. Really good. The sandwhiches are really good too. My wife had the mac and cheese and she really loves it. It's a white cheddar, so it isn't what you get out of the blue box.. The semi bad thing here is the seating. It gets crowded at lunch time, so grab a seat when you can. Other than that, enjoy yourself a good meal here.

My home away from home. I swear I live here, especially when there is a big test coming, which is always in my case. And the sad part is that I would probably be here more often if I didn't need to save money. It has the perfect study food, hearty warm soups, coffee, sweet treats for all that stress. My personal fav is the you pick two with creamy tomato and mac n' cheese with lots of pepper. What's even better is when you order a meal and a drink you get anything from their pastry case for an additional $0.99, I'm a sucker for deals so I get one every time!

I like Panera because there aren't a lot of options in the near vicinity (that being the vicinity of my lunch hour) to get a relatively simple sandwich and cup of soup. They do it quite serviceably, and so they are an easy go-to for me. They are great with substitutions and changes to any sandwich or salad, which is good because i am one of those annoying picky folks that doesn't WANT all of the veggies. Lettuce only, thanks. You'd be amazed how many restaurants can't deal with that. My biggest complaint about Panera though is the lack of space. Not in the dining room, although it is always busy at peak hours - but at the front counter, they have 3 cash registers squeezed onto what, 6 feet of counter? Yes I am somewhat of a big girl, but I was literally standing sideways today to give my order. Then off to the drink/lids/napkins/straws/condiment station, where there is room for at most one person to fill their drink and one to stand and do all of the other stuff - grab a lid, straw, butter for your baguette, etc. Immediately opposite is the garbage can and busing tubs, and it's also right next to the food service counter where you pick up your order. It's just a terrible layout. I always feel rushed and crowded from the time I place my order until I sit down with it. The soups though? Goo-ood. All of them. Get the baked potato soup on a rainy day, with half of a turkey sandwich. Happy happy.

The average person in this area had no pallet if they like this place ... The food is bland .! Soup was ok ... And the chips taste like oil ... Other than that It's a good place for those that have no idea what good food is really like... Same people that eat at every other shit chain food place ..around here!!!

I've eaten here a few times before so I expected to give them a better review. Today I ordered the almond chicken salad sandwich. Taste-wise it was delicious. I loved the almonds and grapes, and I appreciated the fact that it didn't have onions and that it didn't taste like mayonnaise (yuck). What was disappointing was the amount of chicken salad on my sandwich. The small scoop that they put on the center of each half of the sandwich meant I got a lot of bites that were just bread and lettuce. The amount of chicken salad they used on my whole sandwich equates to about the same amount that Wendy's uses on half of their chx salad sandwich. So yes it was tasty but they could be much more generous with their scooper. I liked that it came with a pickle and their chips are pretty yummy. The other disappointment was the brownie. They're a bakery...you walk in and see fresh breads, bagels, and pastries...then they give me my brownie in a pre-packaged box. I have no idea how fresh/stale it was going to be and I couldn't find a date on the box anywhere. That being said, the brownie was pretty tasty, but it definitely took something away by pre-packaging it.

The lady who took our order seemed to be in a real hurry to get thing going and so I felt rather rushed. I got the you pick two with the mac and cheese with a ham on rye bread. I also got a hot tea. The lady shoved a huge mug at me and said something about no paper mugs. I sat down eith my tea and food and dug in. The tea was good, the sandwich was good but could have used a bit more mayonnaise and the mac and cheese was a disappointing bowl of glue. Normaly the Mac and cheese is very saucy and creamy but not at this place, it was starchy, glue like and I couldn't finnish it. :( I got a second mug of tea just to help me wash the thick paste down... Since I was a bit hungry because I couldn't finnish my meal due to icky mac and cheese, I bought a cookie, oatmeal raison, and it was quite nice. The restaurant and restrooms were very clean and the place had a nice ambiance. So thos place is good for a nice chat with a frien over tea and a pastry but I don't recommend the Mac and cheese at this place.

I run hot and cold on Panera. They deliver decent quality food most of the time, but I have been disappointed at times too. Such is what you get with a faster-food-type chain restaurant. The soups and sandwiches are my favorites, with the Smokehouse Panini being the clean-up hitter in my batting line-up. I find the flavors of that sandwich to be good, but inconsistent or bland at times. My wife likes the tomato soup and their asiago cheese bagels. Their salads are decent too. The service is sometimes a bit challenging, but it usually is fine. Hey, what are you going to get with teenagers and twenty-somethings working the register?! The lines can also be maddening at the lunch or dinner rush hours. Also, seating can be challenging at times since there seems to be a contingent of people that setup camp in the booths with a cup of coffee, a bagel and a laptop. These WIFI users tend to take up a great deal of seating at busy times. I suggest Panera as a place to get a quick and decent meal, but try to avoid the busy times.

More trendy than serious about feeding folks, Panera is more like a coffee shop than a place to eat. If you want to pay ~10 dollars for a smallish half a sandwich, cup of soup, and a drink, then this is your spot. Food is good, but not great. If you eat early you'll be starving by dinner time.

  • Rebecca W.

Yes, Panera, I do love you! Your delicious salads, divine soups and decadent pastries make my mouth water! Your coffee....not so much. But it's at least decent. I love it when I get lucky and order a side of whole wheat baguette just after it comes out of the oven...yum! I don't like it when I get what seems to be yesterday's leftovers and the bread is as tough as a chewed up dog bone. Eww. My kids find it to be a real treat when we pay you all a visit. They get a WHOLE DISPLAY CASE of yummy goodies to choose from. I also love the prepackaged goodies that are usually displayed by the door. I have bought those yummies many times to bring to gatherings in a quick jam and everyone seems to really enjoy them. I love that the calories for each menu item is displayed on a large menu board. This really helps me make wiser choices for my meal selections. The workers at this Panera seem very happy with their work. They tend to be very friendly and helpful. I had a gal that worked there help me get everything to my table as she saw I had my hands full. She then stopped by again when we were done and offered to help me clean up.. How nice :-)))))))) I see some of the same people on every visit. Lack of employee turn-over is a good sign of a nice place to work. Seating as this Panera can be scarce at times. It is a popular spot and it isn't rare that every single table is in use. That is why I like coming here on off hours (anytime before lunch hours and just after lunch hour). At worst, so long as the weather is good, there is usually seating outside.

I'm not a Panera Bread fan. I'm a Corner B. (Corner Bakery) kinda gal. But, while visiting my cousins in Oregon awhile back. We stopped here for some breakfast and for some reason I feel that this is the only Panera Bread that I've been to that has gotten my order right and in a timely manner. Really cute location, yummy pastries and they have great lunch specials.

I actually didn't think I was going to like it. They have a good selection. I opted for the BBQ Chicken salad. It was quite good. The sweet corn was a great touch. The restaurant was not clean though. Full bus bins in the view are not the optimal optic. The Soda fountain, condiment area was also not the cleanest.

  • Brandi W.

I have to mention my usual gripe about chain restaurants... bland food, bland service, bland dining space, etc. etc. Okay, past all that now... So, this is a bread company, right? Has anyone noticed that the bread really is not very good? Have you actually tried their bagels? They are tough, bland and even flavors that should have some serious flavor, like jalapeno, are blah at best. There are some decent flavor combinations on their sandwiches, but the best ones are so ridiculously high in calories that it's hard for me to even eat a half. And as one reviewer mentioned, a baguette as a side to a sandwich, WTF were these guys thinking? And a very tough, nearly inedible baguette at that! At least I can opt for a very pitiful, beatup looking apple instead. Their soups are terrible, tasting mostly of salt and blando-ness. Unless you are into canned soups, then I guess in that case they're OK. The lines can get seriously ridiculous here and it makes me wonder how a place that is opposite a New Seasons, where you can go and have a sandwich built, or even better, do the wok bar, stays in business.

Fantastic!! The setup of this place is actually very nice, the lighting is very comfortable and I can see this as an easy place to chill with some friends, read a book, or study for school. This place definitely has the warm feeling of a nice relaxing coffee shop on campus. So let us talk about the price of this place, for it not actually being a restaurant the prices somewhat high. However, you get your food fast, you do not have to put down a tip and you are not sitting in a dirty fast food restaurant with the typical "faces of Walmart" people gorging themselves on hamburgers and fries with a bunch of constant beeping sound from the microwaves, ovens, whatever they are behind the counter. You get a nice relaxing environment with cool people, with this said I do not think the prices are put of this world. So if you are looking for a decently priced establishment where the food is great, the environment is relaxing and the staff is great check out Panera. Warning: This review of Panera is only for the one located off Cornell Road; I have not been to any of the others and cannot speak to the food or environment, at this time :) PS: I have nothing against the people who shop or receive the wonderful services that Walmart has to offer. If you have seen the "Faces of Walmart" website you will get a good mental image of exactly what I was going for.

I can't study at my apartment. There are too many distractions. There's my comfortable bed, the TV, my bed, DVR, the fridge, pantry, couch, oh, and my bed. I usually study at the library on campus. But sometimes I like to mix it up and study in a new environment because when you know the security guards and librarians, its a sign that you spend too much time there. So, cue PANERA! Panera is my study spot when I'm sick of the library. There are a lot of tables, free Wi-Fi, its relatively quiet, there's coffee, and the food is great! Just a few warnings: between 11am and 2pm daily (the "peak hours"), you're only allowed to go online for 30 minutes. I don't mind because not allowing me on iChat or Facebook forces me to get a few hours of solid studying in. If you arrive during peak hours, you may have a hard time finding a good seat near an outlet. I would suggest coming before 11am to secure a good table or after 2pm to avoid the crowd. Also, I spend way too much money here. For brunch (starts after 10am), I like to go for a soup/salad combo, an Americano and a pastry. For a snack, another pastry. For an early dinner, I usually go for a salad/sandwich combo. So for a full day of studying, I can easily spend at least $20 on food and drinks. But it's definitely worth it when I ace that exam!

I love the selection of sandwiches, salads, and soups. I try to do a different combination each time and haven't found anything that wasn't good. The service is always great too. It can get very busy during the lunch time rush it seems, so I try to go after the rush is over instead.

I love this place. It is warm and friendly and like our home away from home. Some times better than home. When home gets tense and we need a place to be quiet or talk, we might leave home and come here.

Why is it that I now have to see three sets of numbers when I slum my way into Panera bread - price for half, price for whole, and calorie count? It's an admirable effort on the part of Panera's marketing team, I'll give them that. They know people aren't going to change their mind at because it's now readily apparent that their turkey sandwich weighs in at 900 delicious calories. At most they might opt for half forgetting of course that their side baguette (aka the worst side ever for something that's main feature is already bread) and drink of choice are bumping that meal up to over 1,000 (yes, even if you drink diet). They also know that people aren't going to think about the 135mg of cholesterol (your dv being 300mg) or the astounding 1,400mg of sodium (your dv being 2400mg) in a cobb salad. Hey, it's got vegetables AND protein! That 500 calorie dish won't make me fat! The sodium and fat and everything involved in processing your meal is what allows for that almost infallible chain consistency. And that's the point. It won't make you fat, just don't eat it every day. Everything in moderation, right? So other than trying to have something they can point at and say "See, we're making the effort for health consciousness" despite changing nothing and continuing to offer nothing that has genuine health value on their menu, what exactly are the accomplishing with this?

I've had Panera Bread Co. back home in California, and I'm glad they keep up the great service and tasty food here in Oregon as well. What's nice about this Oregon location is that they offer a rewards card kinda thing. So like for every dollar you spend, you get a certain amount of accrued points. A certain amount of points will lead up to free drinks or meals while you dine there. Once in a while I'd come here to have a little study session. The soups, salads and sandwiches are all yummy. I like to get the "You Pick Two" items where I can get to taste a bit of either a soup or salad or sandwich combo. I tried their new "berry smoothie" the other day and it was pretty good. No complaints at all. The facility is kept clean and service is very prompt. I'm here once in a while, but if you're here the whole day, you can probably spend up to $20-25 alone. I would go back to Panera Bread. It would probably be a healthier option than going to another fast food joint.

Yum! I love the french onion soup. I get soup in a bowl with a baguette and a soft drink for about 6 bucks. Not bad for lunch. The service is always fast, but the line always long anytime between 12-1. The dessert platters are great for weekends. Before I moved out here I used to go to one in Florida and the quality is consistent throughout the franchise. I like that.

Fuji apple salad is really yummy AND they gave me a free panettone!

This is simply a great spot to eat. They had that pumpkin shortbread that I love! Soup and sandwich is my go to item!

This place is a solid 3.5 They have a lot of variety of bagels, sandwiches and pastry goods. It's a good spot for lunch. I really like their tomato soup. The cheesy croutons really make it. I like the 1/2 sandwich and soup option for lunch or the soup and bagel. The "side" that they offer is either bread or an apple which seems silly. Adding a side of bread to a sandwich seems a little odd. Why do I want more bread? And a whole apple seems a little awkward to eat at a business lunch. What a waste of food. I wish the Cornell location kept their tables clean. On several occasions I've had to wipe down my own table.

I'm not a carb lover, but this place really gives you a lot of choices. I enjoy the soup variety and openness of the place. Service is mediocre, but one can't do much standing behind the counter. Very hard-working.

I heart Panera! Paninis, soups, salads, pastries, bread... it's all delicious! One of my very favorite places

Panera is a fast casual restaurant. You order as if you are at a fast food place, and you pick the food up when it is ready. Given this expectation, Panera is excellent. The food is good (average dish is under $7), and it is delivered fast. The soup is great. The ambiance is nice as well...you can get coffee and surf the web. I will be back here often.

This review should say "Turkey Bacon Bravo" and end there because in my mind anyone who makes a sandwich with turkey, bacon, and smoked Gouda cheese is a genius and deserves 5 stars. Unfortunately that wouldn't be enough of a review to get you to come out here and try Panera. They have a large assortment of soups, sandwiches, and salads all that come fresh and fast. Regardless of what Michael H. says I've never waited longer than 5 minutes for my food during peak lunch times, truly an accomplishment considering how amazing everything is. Their bakery is great and puts out some delicious treats including bagels, muffins, cakes, etc etc. Considering that you're paying about what you would at a Subway for lunch, this place blows every other sandwich place in the area out of the water. Plenty of outdoor seating make this place great during the Summer. I like to think of this place as my healthy lunch alternative that I don't feel guilty about going to later in the day. (And yes I know that bacon isn't that healthy for you but I don't stop on your dreams so please don't stop on mine)

Great place to grab a sandwich or salad. Line always at lunch hour, but moves very quickly. Free wifi. Great breads and desserts. Nice place to get some work done in the afternoon or have lunch meeting... a Starbucks atmosphere.

Panera Bread is a great place to eat. The atmosphere is fresh & inviting, and the people who work here seem to enjoy themselves and provide good service at the same time. The food is often a little more "interesting" than I like but generally very good. The prices are decent. They've got great seating and free Wifi. Think Starbucks with more food and less coffee. If you like bread-related products they do seem to have everything. It's not my usual type of food but I'm impressed with what Panera Bread offers. Of note: I like a company that makes a conscious effort to employ happy, service-oriented people. You can tell Panera Bread's management does this. Rarely do I see high-school kids excited about working in a chain, but the kids working here smile all the time - and that makes a huge difference in your experience. On my first visit I had a sort of French-onion-based stew as my soup and it was really terrible. However, on subsequent visits I've been quite pleased with my orders. The presentation is nice, even a little "classy" depending on what you order. It's something you don't expect from a restaurant that makes you order at a counter and pick up your meal. All in all it feels like you're getting a better experience than you paid for when you come to Panera Bread. I enjoy it. The little niche they cater to, they cover quite well.

Call this my second home, subtract the distraction of the tv and the bed. What more can I ask for in a study location? They provide me with an outlet to charge my laptop, caffeine to keep me up, food to keep my stomach happy, and free wifi to provide me with research sources or the occasional procrastination on facebook =]. As a warning, you only have 30 min internet time during their peak hours of 11am to 2pm, but see it as a time to focus and not to procrastinate.

OK. I finally came back to try this place out. It's brighter and much more spacious than Starbucks (at least the ones I go to) and, for this reason, would be nicer than SB if you were coming here with a kiddie or two to hang out. (It got Kid's menu too). However, I'm here alone now with my laptop and this place has the slowest WiFi I've ever experienced! Food (Pick 2) was ok. OK. My rating is 3 for now. It's more like 3-1/2, though, because I see its potential as a with-kiddie hangout.

Only complaint is that it's really expensive. Love everything they make though. The hazelnut coffee, BBQ chicken salad, and tomato soup are among my favorites.

I really like the menu options - including the calorie counts right up on the board (not on the receipt after you purchase!!). Soups, salads, sandwiches... new favorite is the macaroni and cheese. If you get soup you must pair it with the bread to dunk it! Chicken noodle and French Onion are awesome comfort food choices. Service is normally friendly, however I do get a little shocked when I see the price when it all adds up. Seems spendy for what you get, but I go into it knowing that.

For some really hearty, tasty artisan bread this is the place to go. Every time I go here I'm excited by the plethora of carb options staring at me through the display glass. I always enjoy the soups here and have tried the creamy tomato, chicken noodle, and turkey chili. Their crispani pizza thingies look delicious. When you buy one of their tasty, but pricey loaves, they slice it right there for you and you can choose how thick you want your slices. This is a place for someone who is serious about making their own sandwiches. They also have free Wi-fi. Any problems with my order, or customer service issues have been rectified and handled above and beyond what was required by managers/assistant managers. One big example was when a girl who works there freaked out one night, when we came back right at closing because our order wasn't right. She also called the shift leader some names and even said "F***" in front of my boyfriend and I which we thought was extremely unprofessional, but we were loaded up with two fantastic loaves of Asiago Cheese Bread and a "Come Back Please" voucher. We didn't really do anything, or nag, but just came back because our order wasn't quite right. They could have lost a star because of the attitude of the cashier, but thanks to her shift leader, manager, and the great food we'll continue to return.

There is nothing better than the smell of fresh baked bread. Nothing. And if I had ever smelled fresh baked bread walking into Panera, they might have earned 5 stars. But given that this place is suppose to be all about the bread, that wonderful smell seems to be strangely lacking. That being said, I would and will go to this place over and over again. I love a good sandwich, and this place is as good as any in Hillsboro. But you can get a pretty darn good sandwich and the soup I've had was pretty decent. And extra bonus for having several side options. I personally go for an apple, cause who doesn't love an apple with their soup and sandwich? But you can also get chips or some more bread. And they have cookies, brownies, and other yummy treats available. It's not as fast as Subway or some of the other sandwich places. But if you want Subway it's right across the parking lot, go there. If you want something a little more interesting and don't mind the 10 or so minute wait, give this place a try.

Not my favorite. The breads are great, the soups and sandwiches are very tasty. But it seems a little over priced for what you get. Yes, it's fresh and healthier than the fried burger places that surround it, but it's not a great value.

Went to lunch here with Sandi and Nancy and this place was pretty neat. I thought the light up order tabs were pretty cool to let you know when your order was ready to pick up. I got the broccoli and cheese soup and it was very good. I enjoyed lunch here and would definitely go back again!

I have mixed feelings about this place. As a restaurant it's lacking in variety, what they do have is pretty good. It's a little on the expensive side, but if you want sandwich you can usually do a lot better going somewhere that specializes in sandwiches. The pastries are top notch, but again lacking in variety.

Today we meet other family members for a Saturday morning breakfast/lunch...we got there about 1030ish and this place was hopping. :) We walked up the the counter and placed our order-the woman was prompt and quick at her job. We made ourselves at home at a table and began chattering and noshing. Three or four times the lady who is on the floor of the restaurant (Helen was her name) came by to check on our table and see if there was anything we needed or if she could clear part of our table for us. She was WONDERFUL! She is pleasant - friendly - funny and loved to chat with us all. So when you go in look for her...she makes this place warm. Our food was great. Hot and fresh. I will attach photos asap.

Gourmet sandwich, soup, and salad cafe. The food is very flavorful and the options are plentiful. They will happily customize your sandwich (no mayo, etc.) without hesitation and the result is very tasty. Beverages include a variety of Republic of Tea options and a very tasty chai (iced or no). Food has never disappointed. Let me just comment on the apparent freak-out over the "unhealthy" aspect of the Panera cafes. Go to any other corporate cafe and you will find similar calorie and fat counts. If you're trying to eat super-healthy, don't eat at chains. Otherwise, go for a no-dressing, no-cheese salad, pick an apple as your side, or ask for no mayo on your sandwich, and you'll be fine.

Since today was such a beeaaaautiful day, i actually felt like having a salad, so we went searching searching and came here since i recall eating at a panera in cupertino, ca last summer. i'm suuch a big lover for breads, so my cravings for salad went away once i stepped in and saw the beautifully yummy danishes, muffins and breads displayed right before my eyes. my fatty ass ordered a whole sandwich and a bowl of broccoli and cheese soup (check website for soup days) and a clam chowder for the bf. broccoli and cheese soup was yummy and hot, clam chowder was a little room temperature (i like it HOT HOT HOT) but it also isn't like san francisco style (i will always love) so my standards for chowder is quite picky. anyway, also had the bravo turkey sandwich which was ok, need to add spicey brown mustard for a little kick. the coolest thing about ordering your food is that you get a choice of kettle chips, french or whole grain bread, or an apple. APPLE?! i love it! fruit cup costs extra... but hey its not cheap eating healthy!

All right, I have to admit, I like Panera. I know we're in Portland, we're not supposed to like anything that is a chain, but I still kinda like Panera. We had them all over the place back in Ohio so maybe it's like comfort food. It's dependable, consistently good food. Not great, it's not going to rock your world, but you can have a nice bowl of soup and a sandwich (try the you pick two combo) and get on with your day. The staff are always polite, they have wifi and lots of space to sit and spread out if you want to get some work done. Not to mention their egg souffles are so yummy! And their bagels are the best I've found in Portland, but that's not saying much!
