This new place opened near my work and after the mad crowd the first few weeks, it's better now. I've been twice so far and didn't have to wait. Since I went for lunch, we never did the self grilling. They have 10 or so lunch specials starting ~$10. It's basically a "bento" box consisting of salad (good dressing), choice of meat, jap chae (clear stir fried noodles) and rice. I like how everything taste. They also give banchan (the side dishes) before the meal and I've tried a few different ones and they are also good. Free refills if you ask nicely ;) Service was good. Prompt and my water got refilled as needed. Although with one older Korean waitress I had to repeat order 3X before she got it right and she didn't write it down. I was worried a little bit, but she did get the order right. While it's a little expensive for weekday lunch, it's good quality and amount of food. I would definitely be back.

I was stationed in Korea for a year and it makes me someone what biased in my reviews of Korean restaurant in the states. With that being said, this is by far the closest to traditional tasting Korean food I have experienced since being in Korea. Bulgogi is probably my 2nd or 3rd favorite dish next to pizza and Mexican food. I like mine hot and for some reason I forgot to ask for it hot. They served a sweet sauce with it that was really good, some heat with the Bulgogi would have made the combination of the two exceptional. I was also very excited to see they had cucumber kimchee as one of the Banchan (side dishes). It's the first time I've ate at a Korean restaurant in the U.S that served it. Overall it was a great friendly and clean environment. Wonderful service. They serve Hite beer and Soju which brought me back to my Korean days. Definitely a great place to go with a group of friends to drink and eat.

Not ridiculously crowded and pretty new add to the area. Had their biggest combination Kbbq which I think was combination F. Kinda good but portions are small compared to the AYCE as a norm in LA. Extra steam egg was 3 bucks and was awesome. You can sub the soup in the combination for steam egg and they are usually okay with it :) haven't tried the other stuff yet but will probably be back!

For those of us that lives in Hillsboro and do not want to venture into downtown Beaverton for Korean food because we have to deal with street parking, Gangnam Korean BBQ is a great alternative. I have also been waiting for this store to open ever since I moved into the area and I was so happy to be able to get a grill table without a wait. Of course, we went on a weekday and avoided the weekend crowds. The service was very prompt and I was impressed with the waiters. They were very attentive when our side dishes of various different kimchi disappeared they came by often to ask if we would like more. Since it was my husband and I, we opted to get the Barbecue Combo #1 and the portion for two person was huge! The price for two person ain't bad either. I definitely will come back here again!

Food is good, but service sucks. Limited menu compared to most Korean restaurants. For example, no seafood dishes. I had the dolsot bimbimbop. Small portion, but still good. The servers really need to get their act together. They have 4 or 5 people running such a small area, but service is so slow. I had to flag a server after 10 mins to take my order. Then, it took about 20 mins to get my food. This was almost 2pm on a Thursday, so not rush hour here. Also, let's not wear spandex. I almost lost my appetite. Almost! I got an iron stomach. I still recommend Haerim for service, food, and menu. The servers are very friendly there. At Gangnam....not so much. Due to the location, I will probably come back, but mid-afternoon or when they first open.

Finally! A Korean restaurant closer to home! My first impressions walking in here was that it had a nice layout with a modern feel to it. Prob the nicest Korean restaurant in the Beaverton/Hillsboro area. Service was excellent! Was greeted and checked up on regularly. The food came out surprisingly fast! Started with dukbokki which was spicy good! I then ordered a combo with galbee and bean paste soup which was really really good! The food here reminds me of the Korean restaurants back in K-town LA. So-Cal represent! Jk, but really this place is hella good!

My party of 3 ordered the grill combo B and a pork soon du boo. I do not usually order grilling meats, but we decided to try it here. The meat was plentiful, and different servers kept stopping by the table to turn the meat or adjust the grill temperature. Although it comes with 2 dipping sauces, it would be nice if all of the meat was marinated--only the short ribs were marinated in our combination. The cucumber kim chi makes a good dipping sauce. The soon du boo was fine, but seemed to have a slight tomato flavor. There was a good assortment of ban chan, and they were great about offering refills--something that almost never happens at other Korean restaurants, and usually makes me feel guilty asking for. The service was excellent and attentive! Everyone was very friendly and several different waiters checked on us to make sure we didn't need anything and to offer help with grilling.

This Korean BBQ has been eagerly awaited by the local community since the grand opening was postponed about four months ago. As far as first impressions go I am not disappointed, which is quite a feat considering I've been building this place up in my mind ever since I saw the sign go up during the construction phase. There are eleven grill tops and seven regular tables so expect a line if you're hankering to cook your own food. This is opening day and the wait was about half an hour for the grill tops but there were four normal tables open immediately. The place has that great smell of grilled meat that all Korean BBQ restaurants have and it really gets your mouth watering when waiting for a table. We ordered combination A which is the two person grill meal with pork belly, beef and a metric ton of side dishes. These sides include your favorite plethora of probiotic rich veggies, miso soup and cooked egg. We also order a large HITE to share which came with coolest glasses that tell you just how drunk you can expect to be if you decide to add soju to your beer. As for food quality, well that is mostly up to you if you decide the grill option. Really this is a great business model because if the food gets burnt or is too raw then that is on you since the customer is the cook. All this shop really does is bring you ingredients, give you tips on how to eat them, if you're new to all of this, and then load your table up with side dishes. I want to note that they do have some lunch options which look like they are worth checking out. I'll probably come back to try them one day, but the main event is really the BBQ. As for service, the staff was attentive and kind. They took care to tell us when our grill was too hot and they stopped by regularly to see if we wanted anything else. All in all it was a pleasant experience and I hope they keep it up. The bottom line is that Hillsboro area now has a high quality and reasonably priced Korean Barbecue which I intend to frequent.

Happy to have a decent Korean restaurant so close to where I live. Portions are smaller than most others but I liked the food. Of course it can't compare to Nakwon which holds a special place in my heart but it's faster and closer. I ordered Yookaejang ($13) or spicy beef soup and it was quite good. Very standard dish for me. My two friends got seafood and beef tofu soups ($9). I liked the flavor of the seafood one and it came with a lot of seafood. I plan on coming back to check out their BBQ.

Finaaaaaally! It felt like an eternity for this place to open, but it's finally here! I visited this place twice in the last week and was able to try some different things to get an overall feel of the place. Note that I haven't tried the bbq yet. To be quite honest, the place is decently good but not the best. The yukaejang and kalbi have a good flavor, and for a combo you can get two items (one meat and choice of soondubu, naengmyun, or bibimbap). Soondubu is alright, naengmyun had kind of an odd flavor? The kimchi pajun was just okay and the ddukboki was good. I enjoy their choices of banchan (side dishes) and the service has been amazing each time! Overall, I appreciate that there is a closer Korean establishment close by. I know I will most likely visit again when I'm hungry.

This restaurant is very delicious. My husband and I went on a Sunday and were very much pleased with the self grilling table. They recommend you not to take the raw meat home(of course) but you are more than welcome to grill up the rest and box it up. The portions(which says serves 2) can definitely serve probably 3 to 4 people. It also comes with lots of small sides and rice. Ours costs I believe $47 but with 3 to four people that's a good price, for us two..a little spendy but it was our time and we splurged for sure! You don't have to get a grilling table though, they offer regular dining as well with your meal brought out cooked. But live a little on the wild side! Grill your own!

It is my subjective opinion, it will be open restaurant, so it was not set up all, so it could be. however, when i went to there, i had to buy lunch for my friend, I don't want to make my friend disappointed. if you look at my opinion, just it is references. not all of time. But don't forget the first impression last for a long time.

Good was decent and price is really high for the amount of food. They served one bowl of soup for 4 people, I don't know how we are supposed to share 1 bowl? Service was really good at first but then our table was abandoned and we practically had to beg for the check. I didn't know the names of the different meats but there was a marinated beef that was pretty good. I don't know if they have dessert but no one asked if we wanted anything.

Great place for Korean food in the Portland area. It's pretty new so the place is nice and clean and unlike most Korean BBQ places, the meat smell wasn't overwhelming. Good lunch specials and the pajeon is super good there. Took off the one star only because the food was pretty salty, but overall pretty good experience and attentive staff.

I can't stop eating. Gangnam's really hit the spot and that means a lot considering everyone knows I loveeee Korean bbq and my stomach is sometimes considered a black hole. My group and I came in at 8:00 and were immediately seated and happily greeted by the gracious manager, Anthony. From the beginning to the end of our visit, Anthony took care of us by walking us through the menu, helping us cook and cut our meats while the servers were quick to bring out our dishes and refilling our waters without question. Unlike other Korean bbq establishments on the usual streets of Beaverton, Gangnam's got the best customer service of them all. The great customer service doesn't overshadow the food either. We had about 7 generous portions of assorted banchan side dishes ranging from fresh kimchi to something I've never tried that had boiled eggs layered in savory brown sauce. Whatever its called, its yummy. As appetizers my group ordered the topokki (Korean rice cake in sweet red chili sauce) and a big plate of pa jeon (Korean savory seafood pancake), ordered extra crispy of course ;) My group then had the "Combination B" platter which included beef brisket and pork belly. It came with steamed egg that was deliciously sweet and savory and sides of rice. And because we're fat, we also got a side order of galbi (marinated beef short ribs) and kimchi beef. WAIT. I'll only say this once: Gangnam has the best galbi I've ever had. Why? Because it had the right balance of sweet and saltiness but it was tender while still slightly chewy. Since it's marinated so well, the luscious corners of fat around the bones take in such a nice crisp, where I'll fight the next person to get the last piece. Overall, my experience at Gangnam's Korean Bbq was fantastic so I would still be willing to drive from Oregon City to eat there again and again. Anthony and his servers were very attentive, kind, and funny where they made us feel like guests in his house :) Be skeptic of the negative reviews from other people on here. A good Yelper would give any new restaurant a chance to improve after their first few weeks of opening. After what I saw yesterday, Gangnam's clearly found their rhythm in the business and are prepared to serve others a great dining experience like my own. So, who's down for some delicious Korean bbq tonight Yelpers?!

The prices were a little expensive but definitely worth it. The food was delicious and reminded me of my mother's cooking. The customer service was also great and I will definitely be coming here again. I'm so happy there is finally a Korean BBQ on this side of town.

Had lunch there today with a friend. We both had the Daeji Bulgogi (spicy pork). If you're looking for expensive underwhelming food this place is for you. The pork had a mushy texture and tasted of nothing. The rice was bland and over cooked. The salad had no taste. Both of us agreed that this place is awful.

There's a lot of harsh ratings on here for a place that JUST opened... I would give them at least a week before the bashings began. Anyways... My experience was great!! Service was AMAzing. The ban Chan was exceptional and the bibeembop was awesome. Can't wait to come back. Everything is very authentic!

Finally, after we were turned away because the meat was sold out on the much anticipated opening day... we got to try Gangnam's Korean bbq. It was just the two of us that went, but we still ordered the Combo B (which is supposed to feed 2-3 people). The main reason we ordered this combo was because it had kalbi (marinated beef rib). Don't be fooled by what it says on the menu. It's LA kalbi (short rib) not the real rib kalbi. We waited for exactly 20 minutes before anything came out. When we finally got our food, we were stunned by the tiny portions. Considering we got the bigger combo to feed at least 2 people comfortably, we were disappointed at how much food came out. Let's just say, we left very hungry (see pictures, you'll know what I mean). I know this is long, but I'm not even half way through, so hang tight. After the meat came out, they forgot the dipping sauce and lettuce wraps so we had to ask for them. In the dipping sauce, there was a piece of paper stuck to the side of the dish. The paper looked like it had gone through the wash and had hardened against the inside part of the dish. I don't know how anybody could've missed that when they were pouring the sesame oil or bringing it out to our table. And as far as the lettuce wraps go, they gave us 3 pieces. 3 pieces of lettuce. 3!!! When we asked for more, we got weird looking strips of lettuce (see pictures). I guess they ran out of that too. The rice wasn't hot at all and was dry like a few yelpers have already pointed out. Towards the end of the meal, we had to ask for the soup and steamed egg that comes with the combo. They apologized for the delay and said the kitchen was backed up, but there were only 4 groups in the restaurant so I don't know how that's possible. The steamed egg was watery on top and burnt on the bottom. The soup was bland and didn't have much in it. And again, this would not be enough to feed 3 people, yet alone 2 hungry ones. Combo B was $65 and with drinks, our bill came out to around $75. With tip (because the waitress was nice and none of this was her fault), we spent $90 and it was a complete waste of money. On a side note, the women's bathroom had two stalls in it and both of them were clogged up. The vent system above the grill was blowing too much cold air out to us and we were actually cold during our meal. The only positive thing about this place was our waitress who was nice and apologetic for what was going on. Let's just say, I had high expectations for this place and was very disappointed. I will never be back. Goodbye Gangnam bbq and good luck. The way things are going right now, you'll need it.

I really liked the fact that I can communicate with someone at a Korean restaurant. I've noticed I can't really ask questions or even have a conversations at other Korean places but this place has younger servers that were actually able to help you with your questions. Food was great! People might think it's over priced but I thought it was totally worth my money! Super close by house and haven't found a good Korean place around here so I highly recommend you guys!

First off, I love the layout of this place. Makes me feel very welcomed and just happy to eat there. This place is very clean! Their service was just amazing! Food here is great! The price is just right for the portion they give out. You also have unlimited sides :) Will be back soon!

DO NOT GO THERE. The worst restarant ever!!! Avoid this place if at all possible! I ordered tofu soup and founded piece of steel loofah in the soup.

My family had dinner here Friday night. The food is authentic without the bells and whistles. On the down side, the portion is small for the high price. Meat portion is small. The service was average. I would return and try the lunch menu.

What a cheesy name,,, :P :) I've gotten passed this because after coming here 3 times I can confirm this place is great spot to eat. It's the only place I've been in Portland that has served BBQ I would come back and pay for again. The quality of the meat is way above average, I like the small plates they serve with it too. It would be great if they served OB or CASS though, I prefer both of these Korean beers over Hite. My only real complaint is that they don't serve Yook Hwe. I spoke with the owner about this and he laughed and said that Oregon was not ready for that. After reading some of the negative reviews, sadly I agree. What I will also say about the food is this, it's not up to the standard I am used to, but I should explain why. Though I'm from Oregon, I recently returned after living in LA for 15 years. I lived right next to K-town. The Korean food there is as good as it gets in the US. For those of you that don't know, Korea town in LA is, 9 times out of 10, the first stop for Korean immigrants in the USA. Going out for Korean was a once a week affair for me when I lived there. I do know enough about Korean food to be able to say that Gangnam is serving "real" Korean food. It's not the level I'm used to but it is legit. It's annoying some of the reviews authored by others here claim that the food is not real Korean food. What a bunch of experts! This is always followed by, "the portions are not big enough" or "what I have to cook it myself?" or "it's to expensive, I'm a cheap ass". I'm picturing over weight a-holes, people that should have their computers taken away as I read these. I'm giving Gangnam 5 stars to make up for the douchie 1 and 2 star reviews. I hope this helps to push them up to at least 4 stars. While I'm still missing k-town, they deserve 4 stars for getting closer then anyone else in Portland. I also want to add that the service as been good each time I've been there. The people that demand to sit at a BBQ table while they "decide" if they want to order BBQ are being unreasonable. It's not rude if the waiter or waitress tells you they won't seat you at a BBQ table if you haven't decided if you are actually going to have BBQ. (hehe,, looks like my 5 start post made the difference! They were 3 1/2 now they are 4! Good job Gangnam BBQ!)

This is a restaurant where us westside folk can flock to, especially for some solid Korean food. I'll admit that the prices are a little expensive--10.95 for a lunch special--but I ordered this spicy shredded beef soup and it arrived in a massive black bowl, filled to the brim with broth and followed by a little metal tin of rice. Side dishes are made fresh every morning, and it's never the same each time. I had an array of pickled beansprouts, thin slivers of fish cake, kimchi (more pickled and sour than sweet), seaweed, and spicy zucchini. And the staff were always checking in, offering to refill side dishes and bring takeout boxes. The food was delicious, and the broth had rich meat flavors that weren't covered up by loads of spice. Plus I'd never seen spicy Korean soup with such a bold red color; usually it's tinted a dark orange. But the spice wasn't fierce enough to numb my tongue. Overall, a fantastic meal and I'll probably be back to try the barbecue! Only four stars instead of five though because while the food was satisfactory, it didn't exactly wow me with stunning flavors. It was what I expected.

We were staying with friends in Forest Grove, Oregon, and was looking for a Korean restaurant close to there. We had gone to the Five Guys in the same plaza with our friends and had been eyeing this place before they were opened. We were super excited when it opened, and went there on a Saturday around 2pm. We ordered 2 BBQ meats, and also a combination with tofu soup and bulbogi chicken. The meats were spectacular, and the service was good. The side dishes were really good. The tofu soup does not come with an egg. I have only had tofu soup with egg so I do miss that in my soup. The meat portions were good size and we had leftovers, between my husband and I. There is no changing area for babies in the women's bathroom, just a side note for all the mamas. We'll definitely go again! I'm glad there is finally a place close to our friends!

Weekday lunch specials range from 10-15 dollars. Serving size was huge. I could have shared with my wife and still got full. Device was prompt. The young Korean guy was very friendlt and took the time to explain the small side dishes. I'm glad there's a Korean place closer to home.

I agreed with Jake. I also feel the pain of others that had bad experience at this new place. I waited 4 weeks after they opened. Went there on slow night and didn't order combo per some review here (thanks). It was great! Service and food was awesome! They will get their act together. I hope they are reading all these great feedback and continue to improve. Because I don't like to see small business fails, plus it's so close by. First couple months it's rough for restaurant. I will continue to support them.

Wow, the restaurant is fancy. Everything is clean. I love BBQ , this place is great 4 winter and summer times .I got BBQ combo, beef was very tender, pork belly was great too. Service is friendly, thanks 4 everything.I love this place.

I definitely enjoyed my experience here but urge fellow yelpers to manage your expectations. Anywhere you go for Korean barbecue, you'll have to dig a bit deeper into your pockets, especially if you want relatively good quality meat. Also, eat slowly. If you inhale your food, you'll be hungry. It takes 10 minutes for your brain to use your body you're full anyways. The meat here is great and very fresh. Well marinated. Easy to cook. The pork belly is the perfect thickness and comes out like thick cut, crispy bacon. The soups are great but the portion sizes leave a bit to be desired. I would have also liked to see a greater variety of side dishes as well. Of note, this is the only Korean barbecue place I've been to where I left not smelling like I had been rolling in the grip myself. The ceiling vent fans actually work here and really pull the steam up. The waiters are a bit green but overall very friendly and nice. Service is great and they even helped us take care of a sick baby! Give the new restaurant neighborhood a chance. It's closer than any other Korean restaurants to the tanasbourne district!

I've had some great Korean bbq and I have to say that I had a great experience here. It was just my wife and I and we ordered the Bulgogi and the Daeji Bulgogi. This ended up being more food than was appropriate for two people (even though my wife is in her 3rd trimester). We ended up stuffing ourselves with all of it. There was a bunch of sides which we ate almost all of and they were seriously delicious. The service was a welcome surprise. I made the mistake of reading reviews on Yelp before heading in and everyone was so friendly. When we walked in we asked for a bbq table and were told it would be a 10-15 minute wait, which we were fine with. They went out of their way to try and open up more tables so that we could be seated sooner. I am going to highly recommend this restaurant and I'll definitely be back.

We got there around 3.45 and wait for them to sit us. We waited for 30 mins until one of the waitress paid attention. It took us 40 mins to get our food. We orderes the combination bbq. The quality of food is terrible. The amount of food is much less than expected. It is VERY pricy comparing to other Korean place we went to. WILL NEVER COME BACK AGAIN. My husband ended stop by fiveguys next door to get himself a burger.

Great food, male server with nose piercing needs training. Having lived in Korea for a few years, my husband and I were excited for this table top BBQ restaurant to open. We had dinner there tonight and the food was terrific. We loved the side dishes, the kimchi pancake, sam gyup sal and chicken bulgogi we ordered, along with the "service" (on the house) fried mandoo dumplings were the best I've ever had! Our server left a lot to be desired - he seemed a bit inexperienced and a lot overwhelmed. He forgot to ring in our appetizer, light our BBQ or bring the second plate of lettuce we had requested. Having been a server trainer in the past, I would recommend he get more training about checking on each table in his section before leaving it, and slowing down to think when he gets busy (as he seemed to be rushing and forgetful) . He was a very nice man, but complaining about how busy it was saying he wanted to kill himself was a tad overdramatic and unprofessional. I would also recommend the owners make sure their staff take breaks to ensure they don't burn out from how busy the place seems to be already after just 4 days. The managers/owners were very sweet and attentive to us, and we appreciated the free mandoo they gave us. We will definitely be back for the excellent food.

This place is bomb, although it was busy, our server Aiden was amazing at serving us. He was quick and courteous. I came with 4 of my friends and we got the Combo C and nengmyun (cold buckwheat noodle) The amount was perfect. My favorite was the jumuluk (short beef) and chadul (thin sliced biscuit). Also get the bulgogi jim (beef soup), it was so good! I would highly recommend this place if you are looking for good quality korean bbq.

Decided to try a new place for lunch. The staff was very friendly from start to finish. I did not have to wait too long for the food to come out. The employees were sure to ask how the food was, (including the chef). I don't know for sure, but if I were to guess it may be a family running the establishment, which is always nice. They have tables where you can grill your own food which seems fun. They also have dishes that they cook for you. I ordered a lunch combo (beef, glass noodles, veggies, rice, salad). They brought several side dishes that came with the meal. I was impressed as it was a good amount of food for the price. They have Korean beer (among other beverages). The atmosphere was comfortable, casual and nice at the same time. Overall, it was a pleasant experience. I would definitely go back again!

I was eager to try this place out but when I did I was blown away that they wouldn't let us order just one thing for the two of us. I said, we aren't that hungry and she allowed it. Then the food came and their was more than enough for two very hungry people. Glad we didn't spend the money for two orders. Also, the service was awful. Four servers and no one checked on us and we were ready to go for 20 minutes before they have is our check. On the up side the music videos were awesome and entertaining. Which is why we never flagged someone down for our check.

Walked in and was promptly greeted with a friendly smile. We wanted to bbq and were quickly seated at a grill. We decided on a combination E. Tea was complimentary. The complimentary banchan or side dishes arrived quickly. There was quite a variety of banchan and we were well pleased with the selection. The meat, soup and egg followed soon after. Our waitress helped with the cooking, making sure we knew what we were doing. Grilled meats were tasty and banchan and tea were replenished when asked. The only quibble I had was that unlike other Korean bbq places I've been, there was no side of lettuce leaves. It would be nice to wrap the meat in a lettuce leaf. Overall we were pleased with the service and food and look forward to returning.

This place is INSANELY GOOD. Rarely do I go to a restaurant where I want to try everything on the menu, eat there for lunch, eat there for dinner, try everything on the menu and eat here for Christmas, New Year's, birthdays, anniversaries and dates. The quality is just THAT GOOD. Free refills on the Korean vegetable appetizers and the meat quality is so good and fresh. They also give heaping amounts - so in case you're balking at the price, you get what you pay for.

I have now eaten twice at this restaurant. Both times I have enjoyed great food and service. I have been doing the Gangnam Combinations. First time was Bulgogi and Kimchee Stew. To be honest, I already liked Kimchee, but the hot, spicy stew really made me like it more. Today, it was the Spicy Beef and Bibim Naeng Myun. I wasn't sure about cold noodles, but they turned out to be a great choice for a hot day. Looking forward to my next visit already.

Not sure why there are bad reviews. Based on all the other KBBQ places I've been to around the Portland area, this is one of the best. The food was great. I recommend the Job Chae and green onion pancake. The combo A for 2 people feeds 4. Also the service was excellent. The wait stuff was friendly and welcoming. I'm coming back. Don't believe any one star review, they be haters!

I love this place! I have been looking forward to the opening of this restaurant! I read all the Yelps, I did have some concern about the comments on slow service. But, I like to form my own opinion. My husband loves Korean food, I thought it would be the perfect place for a birthday dinner. I called ahead to check if they were busy, as we wanted to catch a movie after dinner. I was told no problem. When we arrived we were greeted and promptly seated. I mentioned our time constraint to the hostess, she recommended we not try the BBQ, this time. The wait staff was attentive, helpful and efficient. They helped to guide us on our choices. Everything was fresh and so good, our portions were generous, more than we could eat. There were lovely dishes of kimchee, fish cake and mung bean squares that were bottomless. There are some Yelp comments about the prices being high. I did not feel that our dinner of two entrees and two beer for $34 was unreasonable. Thanks to the staff, we were served a wonderful meal, had a reasonable amount of time to relax and enjoy our food, then get to the movie with plenty of time to spare! We are looking forward to returning to try the BBQ!

Excellent ambiance and excellent food! The grill in the center of the table is a fun way to cook your own marinated food. I would recommend the dak bulgogi and beef bulgogi anytime. The pickles add a tangy taste to the meal. Look forward to eating there again.

Ehh I had better Korean food but considering its close to my house the food is not horrible. We went there around 4pm and the place was half empty. No one acknowledged us until 10 minutes later. Remember the place was half empty. Once seated we were given menus but no water was served until one of the waitress notice that we didn't get any water. Anyways we opted out of grilling since the menu was confusing. The menu didn't indicate what we grill or what the kitchen grills for you. You can only sit at the table top grill tables if you want to grill but our server didn't ask us first if we wanted to grill or not so we we didn't want to move to the grill table. We ordered their seafood tofu soup and it was so watered down. Worst I ever had. Their bibimbap was lacking flavor and it was more burnt than I am use to. They don't offer that many side dishes but the side dish are good. Better than the main dishes. Overall the place is new and being 5 months late of their grand opening I was expecting outstanding food and service. If you are desperate for Korean fix and lazy to drive then this place is passable but don't expect quality and quantity here.

I went their first week of their grand opening. I get it, the staff is adjusting to the restaurant, but it took forever. I ordered BBQ at 5:45 and didn't get food till 7:00. Keep in mind, the meat is raw and you cook it yourself. The staff was extremely friendly and supportive, but portions were the smallest I've ever seen as well. I'm Korean and have eaten Korean all over. The Samgyeopsal came in 2 strips. That was it! Kal Bi in 3 strips. Portion size had to bring it to two stars. I'm always down to represent, but that was the final deal breaker.

My wife and I had lunch here today, our first visit. I had the spicy pork bulgoki and my wife had a Korean beef soup. Everything was fresh and sized appropriately and cooked deliciously. Service was good. We will be back!

I have been waiting for this place to open for ages. I am only in town every other weekend so upon hearing it had finally opened we rushed in. The service got off to a slow start, but quickly improved. In fact, they were almost too attentive (that could have also been because they could see I was Yelping). In any case, the sides were good and they have extra helpings just by asking. The L.A. galbi was fantastic! I have eaten a lot of Korean BBQ in both Los Angeles and Korea, and the flavor here was outstanding. The only thing I do agree with other posters is the price. We did not get a meal but individual orders of galbi, and it is a tad on the pricey side. Having said that, I am stuffed and happy.

Came here for dinner again a few days ago because some friends that wanted to check it out. Same experience and quality. Still the portions, the sides, and customer service is what this place lacks. This is far from an authentic Korean BBQ or LA Korean BBQ experience. *Over priced for the portion size and cut of meat. *Lettuce is a given in Korean BBQ. C'mon guys, it's lettuce and requires no prep besides a good washing. *The wait staff needs a good training session on efficiency, customer service, and how to be better servers. In my opinion, this place isn't trying to cater to Koreans, which is fine. Instead, they are tricking "American" people who don't know true Korean BBQ into thinking they are getting a true experience. I recommend you Google other Korean restaurants around town that does one of the three, portions, sides, or customer service, better than here.

Contemplated between a 3-4 stars... 4 stars for location, decor, and potential to be a great korean BBQ spot for the Beaverton/Hillsboro area. 3 stars for some kinks that i attribute to their grand opening. Decide whether you want to grill your meats or just sit in the dining area in the middle. We opted to just have our meal prepared for us. Service was a little slow, chaotic, and disorganized. It took some time to order and to receive our food but once again, it's most likely them just being overwhelmed. Food was okay, not the most flavorful Korean food i hope they improve their quality once they work out a more smooth operation.

Came back to this joint for lunch today and the service has been better! My friend and I tried the Galbi lunch box which was $12.95 and it came with a decent portion of short kalbi ribs, rice, coleslaw, and korean noodles (japchae). Also, unlimited side dishes if you request it...more fish cake? Yes please. :) I also met the owner Anthony and he seemed like a good sport especially with my review from when they first opened.

Went to this new place today, being from Southern California Korean Bar B Q is hard to beat, but I must say I was surprise how to the Jap Chae was the best I've had in Oregon, and I've tried almost every place in Beaverton. Sue our server was a sweet, courtesy and knowledgable about the food, as a plus she spoke perfect English. I know some of the other places are hard to order due to language difference, but you won't have the problem here. I have read all the reviews here and I think you should give place a chance since it's just has opened, give them time to work out the bugs. The food is delicious and they seated us promptly and took our order, if anything I had to many servers. If you go ask for Sue she won't stear you wrong and will serve you with a smile.

Went to Gangnam BBQ for dinner. The food was good. Ordered Bulgogi bowl, BBQ Beef and Dak Bulgogi (Chiken) BBQ. BBQing at the table was fun. The tables are large, which is a plus - what with all the dishes. The food was delicious., but on the pricey side....avg dish costs $ 17 to 18 for dinner. Quantities are OK. but could be more generous for the price. Service was good. Side dishes like Kimchee etc were generous. The Korean hot-sauce was as good as we've had anywhere. Good place to eat if you have the time.

Grill equipment is good but the beef quality is not. Tried another two lunch dishes and got abdominal pain the whole day after lunch.

They may have gotten off to a slow start in months past due to some unexpected weather damage, remodeling delays and start up issues. That's why I always wait a few months on a new restaurant. This evening the service was excellent, the people were so friendly, helpful and courteous. The menu was excellent. Absolutely delicious. Can't wait to go back. If you don't try this place, you're really missing out on something special.

The service was ok. portion was not what I would expect from a Korean BBQ restaurant. we had the seafood soup $9 n a combo plater that will serve 2-3 ppl as my wife n my 2 boys weren't really that hungry and we wanted to try this new please. what we got was 8 thin " really thin" slices of beef 4 slices of bacon n 4 slices of Kalbi ribs thats it for $64.00!!!! Geeez plus side dishes that are not full serving of side dishes... Felt like a fine dining restaurant which brings u an amuse plates (small tasting plates) to sample what the kitchen is all about.... When we asked the server if that's all the meat she said yes. my wife, two boys n I looked at each other n we said at the same time said "wow". We asked if we could get a refill of side dishes thy ok and I guest thy felt our dismay of the protein portion our next refill of the side dishes were a little more generous. That said this is the 1st Korean BBQ restaurant leaving still hungry paying $74.00... Really hope the owners read these reviews as I would like to see small business succeed! I'll try this place later if the reviews on yelp regarding portions improve. Good luck...

Eh, as someone who lived in Korea, I would say this was mediocre and a little overpriced. We got the galbi which was too chewy. The bulgogi was good, a little under seasoned, and the soondubu was bland.

Worst Korean restaurant ever! There is an old lady there really rude. I ordered 3 dishes and I waited 1 more hour to get them all served. Some of the waitress came to me and asked if I can pack them to go! WTF! I came here to dine in not said to go! I went there again with friends because it's close by and late so we decided to try their bbq. This time it came with 4 side dishes. We ordered Korean rice cake. The amount is much less than the first time and they only served with 4 side dishes. We asked about this and that old lady told only the grand opening days they provided more food! Unacceptable! They are playing people. We waited about 15 mins to get our side dishes. Waited about 15 more minutes to get rice....and wait another 15 mins they finally put meat on the table. Unsurprisingly, the amount for 2-3 people's bbq combo was really small ( than other bbq restaurants ) Overall, the food there tasted okay but service was slow/bad. They don't treat you as customers. I feel they feel like they are your bosses! They always had excuses when asked for something. Don't like the place. They were Playing with us. No go place!

Gangnam Korean BBQ finally opened up (was suppose to open up last November-December)! After church, my family decided to give it a shot. When we entered, the waitress asked if we're having BBQ. We didn't know what was on the menu so I asked if we can sit in booth and check the menu. She then tells us we can't sit in the booth area unless we do BBQ. My grandma needs cushioned seats because of her bad back. Oh, we came at 1120am, empty. After asking the nice gentlemen (might be the manager) by the register, he told us to sit anywhere we'd like. We ordered the BBQ Combination A, which includes two types of meat, soup, and steamed egg. Well, BBQ came out first. Rice showed up about 15 minutes after we cooked all the meat. The rice was HORRIBLE. The rice was very dried up like it was in the dessert getting a tan. That's how bad the rice was. I asked the waitress and she told me the rice was just cooked and there's nothing wrong with it. Well, I wasn't having it. Got up and went to the manager and he checked the rice and apologized. Told me he's cooking a new batch. By now, our family was done eating...just the meat and side dishes. The steamed egg showed up after they took away the empty dishes. Steamed egg was burnt on the bottom and had a burnt after taste. Finally, the soup shows up and tastes like water. Both steamed egg and soup came in a little miso bowl. At this point, we're ready for our check. As Sam L pointed out, the restaurant has a nice interior, but needs more tables/seats. Interior is nice and all, but having good food is something they need to focus on. Meat quality is by far one of the worst in Oregon. I know it's fairly new and all, but messing up on rice is a big no-no and timing of food coming out of the kitchen is bad. I'll be nice and wait for the grand opening "bugs" to get fixed and come back in a few weeks.

Found out about this place on a magazine and decided to give it a try. With my husband being Korean and me growing up somewhere where good Korean food is in abundance we are always looking for new Korean restaurants to eat at. So here it goes... AMBIENCE: The place is nice and clean given that it is new. Give it a while and it may get grimey since it is a tabletop BBQ restaurant. The restaurant is split up about half and half...half tabletop BBQ and half regular tables. FOOD: Since we only tried the BBQ I can only comment about that. With any type of meat dish at a Korean restaurant it tends to be expensive...it's expected. The 2 person combo we ordered was on the pricier side ($43 I think) but it did come with 2 different types of meat. And both my husband and I were full after the meal. The steamed egg and the dwenjang was a little bland side but nothing that a little salt couldn't help. SERVICE: Great! Nice and friendly staff! A gentleman (*snicker*), who I assume is the owner, was always stopping by to check up on us, waters were always filled, waiters asked to see if we wanted any more banchan (side dishes)...it definitely helps to have a husband who speaks korean! We will most likely be back to satisfy our BBQ needs. So far the best BBQ in the Beaverton/Hillsboro area that we have tried so far!

Clean restaurant. Friendly staff, tasty food. Clean table side grills and good ventilation for them. The Kim Chi was good too. I'm not sure if I like it better than my favorite place. So obviously it's pretty good.

Great customer service! This is the kind of place that you go for the experience. The meat was great, but I wasn't a fan of the sides. A pretty decent price for Korean BBQ.

Excellent food and service. Our waitress was very sweet and even took the time to chat with us about korea. I just wish it wasn't so expensive but the higher cost of food in Portland is something I'm going to have to come to terms with sooner or later. Portland is so much better than LA in many ways but not when it comes to food... Just can't beat LA's choices and prices. ...but I'll definitely be back ;)

Came here last night with my girl and a buddy. When you walk in immediately you can tell this place has got some feng shui. It's got a great modern upscale vibe to it so great for dinner dates. When we arrived we were seated quickly, we just missed the rush hour lol. Now onto the food, we got the combination B meats platter, marinated beef short ribs, pancakes and topekki. Don't worry I have included photos :) Now in terms to the portion there's have been a lot of reviews saying how small it is but I think the portions are fair to what your paying for. The marinated beef short ribs were super flavorful! I recommend that for first timers. Overall the service was great, I heard that it was cray the first couple of weeks it opened but it looks like it has settled down now. Totally recommend this place!!

First, people need to chill out with the negative reviews. Please keep in mind, your negative reviews effects tons of money invested. Setting up restaurants like this are extremely expensive and takes a long time. Like some of you have said, this is a brand new restaurant, so they still have some quirks to figure out. So don't get so trigger happy on bashing businesses. Just be happy there's a korean bbq in a good location for lots of us. and how about kindly giving them feedback in person, so they can fix it as they go. We as their surrounding community can help them improve their business. Our family ordered a combo dish, sat in a diy bbq table and we received very kind service from one of their managers. She did also say to please be patient with some things, since they are brand new. We live in AZ, CA and OR. Of course this can't be compared to K-Town, LA bbq restaurants. But still we're glad there's one nearby.

New Korean retaurant added to the Portland area. NICE. But this restaurant is far from other competitions. The interior decoration is very nice and clean. However, there are not that many tables, which made long wait lines, making a lot of customers leave. I understand since it's their opening weekend. After about 30 minutes of a rather short waitline, we were seated. With a party of 5, we ordered 2 combos to share. Meat served were literally copied from DJK in cuts and servings while being thinner and of lower quality. What is the point to Korean BBQ with poor meat? Gave 2 stars just for the nice decorations. Deserve 1 star for their food and service.

I brought my parents and the family here for lunch last weekend. No lunch specials on weekends-- just weekdays. Being Korean and living in the Beaverton area for the past 30 years, my parents know the local Korean food scene. Their first response after seeing the menu was disbelief at the high prices! We didn't get bbq so I can't speak to that. I ordered Kalbi tang which was ok. Tteokbokki which was average too. Hubby got kimchee jigae - said it was good. My mom ordered seafood sundubu which she claims is some of the best she's had around here. Dad and my son shared the combo with mul naegmyeon and bulgogi (portions were large enough for them to share) which he said was very good. Dad said overall the food is excellent but adds the disclaimer that quality could go down over time as he's experienced with other Korean restaurants. The staff was attentive during our visit. Final tab was 65 minus tip for 4 adults and 2 kids for lunch.
