Stopped in for my once a week or so Grilled Chicken Salad and ice cold Mexican CocaCola. Dons is always busy, but no matter how many people are there, the food is always the best. Tonight all the girls working were having a real fun time and very happy. Thank you crew

So today was the first time we've been back since my last review in April. Wait time was pretty short, but THEY FORGOT HALF OF OUR ORDER!!! And of course we didn't realize this until we were back home, handing out the food to our family. To be fair, when we checked the receipt at home, we saw that they only charged us for what we did receive. STILL- Sucks that half the family didn't get their breakfast burritos this morning. We have never gone there without having our order screwed up. Never. I don't think we will be back again. Too bad, since their breakfast burritos are awesome and such a yummy weekend treat.

The three stars isnt for the food. Terrible service, no habla ingles...things like that. Never going back.

This has become my regular Sunday breakfast spot. Killer food at a killer price. The breakfast burritos are good, but the huevos rancheros are where it's at! Great sauce, rice and beans are on point, and really nice tortillas to wrap it all up. Even some hash browns to top it all off...oh and the bacon is so crispy and delicious.

  • John K.

I like there burrito plate and it is only $7.49. They give you good size burrito and comes with rice, beans. If you are looking for a great value and good Mexican food then go to Don Pedro!

  • L.u M.

First of all is not authentic Mexican food, tortas are the worst, and is not cheap, if this is your favorite then u have not tried real Mexican food, is good that they open late tho, I might try that one more time when someone else is in the kitchen

On a sunny day Princess and I drove thru and got a chicken quesadilla plate for $6.50ish to share at Shute Park. She ate the rice and beans, all of it, plus most of the sour cream and guacamole. I ate mostly the quesadilla, loaded with chicken and drippy with cheese and cheese grease. Yum. The hot sauce on the side was perfect to dip into. We continue to like Don Pedro and it's many yummy offerings. Cheap and fresh. Gut bomb? Well maybe, but everyone needs a good post Mexican food tummy ache and coma now and then, right?

This place is honestly terrible, the place is always dirty , the wait is long, and the food is gross. Don't come here

  • Brian O.

The food is awesome and so delicious. I wish I could eat Mexican food like this everyday but would have to equip a rascal scooter to drive my fat body to the drive in.

Hola! The wait for breakfast burrito is B.S.! I've been waiting for 45 minutes and nothing is worth 45 minutes to wait for. Beware of the wait, the food isn't worth it!! Get your restaurant fixed or people won't be back! Gracious!

  • Debbie S.

LOVE Don Pedros! We frequently eat here after church. The kids menu is a great deal and we absolutely love the condiment bar. The burrito's are HUGE and could feed 2, but generally we get the tacos. Just returned from getting a wet breakfast burrito, regular breakfast burrito, and BIG breakfast. Portions so BIG we ended up taking some home. You can tell the place is good when you walk in and it is filled with Latinos. That is a true test for us no matter what type of cuisine, if a restaurant is filled with people from that country it passes the test! Very friendly staff, food comes out quick. On busier days a little slower but that is to be expected. Worth the wait.

    (5)
  • Laurel S.

My favorite place in Hillsboro to get tacos. I like the salsa bar because I can get limes and radishes to go with my tacos. This is not "fast food" and drive through will take just as long as going inside.

    (4)
  • Deja A.

They have awesome food for such a cheap price. We got two asada sopes, asada nachos, asada quesadillas plate for like $20 bucks and some change. We had soooo much left -overs. The employees were nice and the food came pretty fast. This is my new fav. Mexican place.

    (5)
  • Erika W.

My boyfriend and I come here way to much. We love the fish tacos, horchata, and cheese quesadillas. Great prices! The drive through can be a little slow but still worth the wait.

    (5)
  • Chris H.

I've only had their steak tacos here so that's all I can review on... But they were pretty good. These are real Mexican tacos. So don't come here and expecting hard shell tacos with cheese and lettuce. That's the American way of doing tacos. These come with soft corn tortillas with the meat and chopped onion and cilantro. I gave them only three stars as the dining area can be a little dirty at times and the salsa bar needs attending to. (Salsas always look like they've been sitting out all day. Would be nice if they kept it fresh throughout the day and there never seems to be lids for the plastic cups. Other then that the food, at least the tacos are pretty good.

  • Matthew R.

Easily the best Mexican food I've had so far in Portland. Coming from Texas I'm very picky on my Mexican food and the food here hits the spot every time. I can't recommend the carnitas burrito enough, that with a side of rice and beans and some flour tortillas is absolutely amazing. On top of the great food the staff here is friendly and the atmosphere is very chill. If you have to choose between Don Pedro and that slop Chipotle tries to pass off as food, I'd tell you Don Pedro's every time

  • Richard ..

Very tasty burritos--I should try more items, and I mean to, but their burritos are yummy!

  • Melvin T.

Another Mexican fast food gut bomb in Hillsburrito. What sets this apart from Ochoa's and Muchas Gracias are their late night hours. This is the only Mexican joint open late on weekdays. They are open until at least midnight every night. A great option for post imbibing hunger. They offer typical Mexican greasy fare like burritos, tacos, tortas and Nachos. The choice for meat are beef, chicken, pork and spicy pork. The choices are kind of vanilla, but at 11:30PM it beats the hell out of MickeyDeezzzNuts. In the morning, they are famous for their breakfast burritos. You get your choice of meat, but you should get one with everything: Bacon, ham, breakfast sausage, egg, and hash browns. Enough carbs and calories to keep you running for hours. Enough cholesterol to shave hours off your life. For late night and early morning grub, Don Pedro offers some great options.

Their breakfast burritos are really good.. Good piece of advice if going thru drive thru.. Call and place order ahead of time

  • Jaben C.

This is a great little Mexican place in an area with lots of these. I actually prefer don Pedro for one main reason. Their salsa bar is AMAZING. They have the usual green, mild, and spicy options, they have no chips, but they have a fresh tomato mild mixture that is amazing. I mix it with whatever spicy-ness level I want that day. Mixed into Spanish rice and beans it takes the food to the next level. It's is easily worth +1 star and it might be worth a lot more. They make all the usual, burrito, taco, etc... And they can use almost any meat in anything. My fondest memory here was when a Iranian guy from work kept saying "I'll have a burrito plate" and the lady behind the counter kept asking "what do you want?"... I almost died laughing before I said "he wants the burrito plate" and saved us from a never ending gimmick. I come here as often as I can.

  • Bob M.

Ya know, if you need something to go with your morning coffee you can do what I do and go through the Don's drive thru for one of their Mexican Breakfast burritos. I get mine with sausage which is skinless links probably made by that fine Hispanic supplier, Jimmy Dean. With that they add bunches of scrambled eggs, a wad of cheese wrapped in one of their big butt flour tortillas. Get it with the hot sauce (as opposed to the mild sauce) It is smoky, garlic-y and will make you cry like a child. I've gotten to where I can go through their drive thru, pay with a credit card--it slows them up some--and still only add seven minutes to my drive time, not that I have done this a lot nor figured out exactly how much time is involved. This is much easier if you are heading southbound on 10th but if you are going north, just gun the car, hit the horn and scream like hell making the left turn in. Don't worry, lots of people do this. Oh, and for heaven's sake, watch your take offs and landings in the parking area around this place! There are crazy dips, split levels--never a good thing in what is supposed to be a flat surface--especially around the tree up in the front. It is also a little ambiguous what is and isn't the ramp over the curb to the street. Not many care around here, but it is hell on the suspension.

I have had many meals at Don Pedro. Their breakfast burritos hit the spot every time. I run a business and we have had Don Pedro cater breakfast burritos for morning meetings and they are a hit. My meetings even have better attendance when people realize we are having Don Pedro burritos to eat. Their carne asada tacos are good, but sometimes hit and miss in regards to the meat. Sometimes I get pieces that are fatty or have a lot of gristle. Good food overall with the amount you get and the flavors for the low cost. Their drive thru service and speed are pretty good when you need to get in and out quickly.

    (4)
  • Cole H.

This place has the best breakfast burritos I have ever eaten. They are reasonably priced and I usually get two meals out of each one.

    (5)
  • Kim O.

OMG the super hot sauce on the salsa bar AMAZING. It looks like really oily and adds the perfect touch to this food. Mmmmmm carne asadaaaaaaa. You guys do it right and not chewy hard gristle. Chicken tastes fresh like Chipotle chicken yum, and fresh chips! And crazy cheap.. Got a chicken burrito, carne asada burrito, bean and cheese burrito, carnitas taco, two orders of chips and salsa bar including pico de gallo all for around $14. It was my first time here so still a little skeptical- hence 4 not 5 stars, plus when restaurants get 4+ stars on here it ends up being farce. I think I'm sticking to the 3 star places from now on. I will definitely be back, front cashier girls need to smile and be happy.. they were so pretty but looked so tired and irritated.

  • Chris S.

I HAD been going to this restaurant since I moved to Hillsboro in January 2014. In the last 7 months I have noticed a decline in cleanliness, quality, and especially customer service. The drive through will consume your whole lunch break just waiting, and the girls that work the front counter are not courteous, almost rude. You would think, in a town with so many different options for Mexican food, that a business would take time to clean up, freshen up their salsa bar once in a while, and smile for their customers. I found a taco truck a couple blocks away that blows this place out of the water, and the family that runs it are incredibly nice. I will make Don P's a last resort, if I go back at all.

  • Amanda B.

This is my boyfriends favorite place to eat so I won't give it less than three stars but I've never really had a good experience here myself. It's super cheap though which is always a plus. But between the harsh lighting, plastic booth seating, and gross bathrooms it's hard to have an enjoyable sit down experience. So it's nice they have a drive thru so you can enjoy your meal at home. But the first time I ordered here I got a chicken bone in my chimichanga. But the chimichangas have good flavor here which is rare so now I just order a cheese or steak one instead. They do have a hard time of making my order correct though.

    (3)
  • Katie C.

I would give these guys 5 stars if they didnt forget half of my order EVERY single time we go. Unfortunately, we will not be back anymore because of this problem. They should check their orders better. :(

I love mexican food. I'm not mexican, but I lived in mexico for a few years. I've eaten home-cooked and restaurant mexican food all over the place. I don't know everything, but I feel I know good from bad. Don Pedro is a mexican fast food place, with a pretty huge menu, including lots of breakfast items. It's wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am service and food. There are a lot better spots in this town for terrific mexican food. I ordered: carne asada taco meal, bean and cheese burrito, and a side a beans and rice for the girlfriend. The asada was tough and wasn't seasoned, and the tortillas had a pastiness you get with cheaply made corn tortillas. The salsas were americanized bland. The burrito was ok - the beans were good, but salty, and the cheese was booooring mild cheddar, totally lame. The tortilla was edible. Nutshell: take a swig of pepto, brush up on your spanish, and go get some cheaper, better, and more authentic food across the street and one of the many 'roach coach' street vendors selling right across the highway.

  • Feuy S.

Only some of the tacos are 99 cents now. Legua and asada tacos are $1.30, while the pollo and al pastor are still 99 cents. Still really good. And I love their wet burritos. Although its coma inducing, there is a Starbucks a block away.

    (4)
  • Patrick C.

This is my favorite authentic Mexican restaurant. I tend to order their carne asada tacos. Reminds me of the tacos I used to get in Mexico. Their salsa bar offers a lot of variety and contains an ample supply of limes, radishes, and peppers. The service is really friendly and welcoming, but if you plan to customize your dish, be sure to over explain what you would like to change about the order as this seems to confuse them. Horchata is also available!

  • Courtney A.

DO NOT GO HERE!!! Drive thru employee intentionally did not give back our debit card and sure enough today there are a myriad of charges on our account. I should have known by the smart ass looks on their faces when I came back in to get the salsa they didn't bother to give me while shoving me out the drive through in hopes I wouldn't notice they didn't give me my card back. Well it worked so people beware of this scam. I'm sure I'm not the first nor the last. Police report has been filed!!!!

My mom and I have been meaning to check out this place ever since we moved into the neighborhood and we are glad we did! My mom got the fajitas and I the carne asada steak. First off, very surprised that every meal comes with a salad! Everything was very tasty and they have awesome guacamole. I judge how good a place is based on their selection of agua frescas, and I was so happy to find that they not only had the standard horchata but also my favortie, jamaica! Prices were very reasonable and the portion size was good. We will definitely be back!

I used to love the DP on 82nd, and since moving north, adopted this location. Or I tried to. The breakfast burritos I came to crave living in sw Pdx are of an entirely different caliber than this location. I am so disappointed. It seemed dirtier, and the food wasn't nearly as good. I don't know why. I just won't be going back there.

Good stuff. Homemade Mexican plus a drive thru. Inexpensive but good quality and delicious tacos.

The wife and I stopped in here tonight on a whim for dinner. I was not sure what to expect when I first pulled into the parking lot. The lot was almost full and the resturant was full of Latino folk (DEFINITELY A GOOD THING WHEN LOOKING FOR MEXICAN FOOD)!!!!!!! Upon walking in, there is an extensive picture menu on the wall and a nice looking salsa bar. The place is small yet cozy and a little dive-y. I ordered the special which was the super burrito and a med drink (~7.00) and my wife ordered a chimichanga. Both plates arrived with about 5 minutes of ordering and were nice, hot and fresh (a great bonus). The food had excellent flavor and the portions were excellent. I can not say enough. The only thing that I can say could be improved would be the booths / seating and the interior decor. The booth's are well worn and very soft to sit in making you sit low at the table. And the paint on the walls is showing wear. All in all a great experience and will definitely be back!

Been here a few times and to be honest it was the drive- thru and location that made stop here. With that being said the food was good and the prices are reasonable. Ordered a wet burrito by mistake, it was so good that I ordered it on my second visit.

Great food with a friendly staff. I highly recommend DP!! (Keep in mind this is no relation to the Don Pedro chain in Portland)

  • K Q.

oh Don Pedro. Your carne Asada tacos never will let me down. and those carrots are uuuuuhhhMAZING. perfect amount of hottness with a delicious radish to cool you down. But you do always manage to forget something. If I remind you to give me your "relish dish"(carrots onion jalapeno onion) then youll forget the hot sauce. *shakes head*

This is the real deal Mexican food restaurant. Good prices. Fresh. Nice service. Homemade type food. And yes it's usually filled with latin customers. No fooling them. Good salsa bar. Fresh mexican drink's on fountain. I will make the long drive from Tualatin when I crave Mexican. Never had a bad plate here.

Fabulous Carne Asada!!! Loved the salad, definitely wasn't expecting it. The place is friendly, authentic and a GREAT value!! My husband and I have eaten breakfast, pleasant surprise, and lunch. Highly recommend it for a place to go for great Mexican food, wonderful portions, and very clean. We've been told by a very reliable source that their Breakfast Burrito is the BEST!!

  • Rustie D.

I have lived in the area for awhile, and drove by here a lot. It has always been busy, so I finally broke down and tried it. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. Their ploblano peppers with cheese is one of the best! I can't remember when I have seen burritos so big either. If you're a small eater, then split it with someone for sure. If you're a big eater, then this will fill you up; especially if you get the full meal. Although their prices aren't fast food prices, it's whatever you'd spend at Chevy's or Juan Colorado's - only BETTER! The counter help doesn't speak English very well, but they deliver it with a smile. I'll definitely be back to try some of the other tasty treats!

Hillsboro is a town full of mexican restaurants and taquerias. Almost one on every corner. I've driven by this place numerous times and today i had to check it out. This place is a taqueria with drive up service - you can also dine in. I really didn't expect much walking in, but after eating the food i was sort of planning when to come back for more. I ordered the torta sandwich with chicken. The server was real helpful and friendly and the service was not too bad (about 5 minutes to get my food). The sandwich bread was mexican style grilled to perfection. The meat which was adequate in quantity had a spicy flavor and it came with onions, tomato, mayo, and lettuce. The price was $4.49 and with chips is an extra 75 cents. They have a small salsa bar with choice of green or red salsa, a salsa with chunks of tomato, and marinated veggies. The place was clean and they got a 93 out of 100 on their 10/3/08 health inspection. Not bad! I'll be going back at some point in the future.

Their 99 cent tacos are great but I've also had their al pastor burrito which was like 5 tacos in one for 4.99. There is also a drive thru so whenever it is raining or you just dont wanna step out of your car, it is there for you. I love their salsa bar and I get like 5 different sauces and their pickled carrots whenever I go.

  • Kristen M.

Mexican food is my guilty pleasure. If you are ever near Hillsboro, definitely try the $1 tacos. You can get it with any meat they have listed on their menu. (I prefer the pork). They have a drive-thru, which is not so common with fast-food mexican restaurants. They serve you pretty quickly. The restaurant isn't the best looking place in the whole wide world, but it's decent enough to just satisfy that taco craving.

I am still in search of THE perfect place to get a greasy burrito, but this place definitely works in the meantime. I wanted a chorizo burrito, so this was the place that I stopped. The sign said breakfast burritos were $3.99. I though great...that's cheap. They chorizo one is a dollar more. I find it funny that chorizo costs more...it's ironic really...but it's ok. So, the burrito was really good. And the bottom was full of grease....orange and fatty looking. Yes, I ate the last bite that was swimming in it....and I liked it. I would do it again too. The service is efficient, but not necessarily friendly. The prices on the printed menus are incorrect....expect to be slightly confused. Clearly an older version of the menu. Also, there were things that people were eating that I could not find on the menu I was looking at. Secret menu? ...possibly, or I was just not looking in the right place. Anyway, anytime i want a greasy burrito made with refried beans and a pool of oil...this is the place. They are open late-that's a bonus and I noticed that they got a "certificate of merit" from the health dept. that's good. No dirty dining please.

Not the healthiest food I don't think but the wet burrito with chicken was really good. The place is not the cleanest but the staff is friendly and the prices are really good.

I moved to the NW Washington State) about 6 yrs ago from San Diego which I feel has some of the BEST (inexpensive)Mexican food in the States since coming north I have been disappointed with the quality as well as the high cost Mexican food and have almost removed it from my menu. That ended on6/4/11,My wife and I were visiting Portland and were taking a drive around the area on that BEAUTIFUL day, were getting hungry and were driving by Don Pedro and noticed lots of people eating and everyone of them was HISPANIC (a very good sign) we each had the special of the day (chicken enchilada, soft taco, beans and rice ($4.99) plus one of those Cinnamon/rice drinks $1.50 it was FANTASTIC and filled us the rest of the day.Next time I head South I'm detouring to Hillsboro and eating at Don Pedro
