I have been here a couple of times and really like their SW Chicken Fajita sandwich on Cheesy Garlic bread. The chicken in the sandwich has a very good slight smoky flavor and the bread is so fresh here. The sandwich is quite filling as well. This place gets pretty crowded during weekday lunch time. I dont eat beef/pork so havent tried any of their other sandwiches. I keep going back just for the chicken fajita one. Overall, a good alternative to Subway sandwiches.

Pretty decent for a sandwich chain. Great if you need a quick bite on the go. I usually just stick to the smoked chicken and turkey on cheesy garlic bread, which makes it not the healthiest option but my tastebuds appreciate it. There are usually just 2 people working here so it can be a bit slow during the middle of lunch rush. If you are looking for a gourmet sandwich look elsewhere. If you are looking for a quick sandwich and want something different and a bit netter than subway then come check out this place.

Askig locals around for a good sandwhich place, I got pretty good reviews about this place. I wasnt too disppointed, but it also wasnt the best sandwhich I've ever had. The good: -The price, the size, the options. All great, -The speed of service The bad: - The Service isn't great. There was a woman clearly preoccupied with some of her visiting family members, and didnt stop to asisst me. -The cookies. UGH. NEVER - I got a veggie sandwhich, and the amount of cheese was SO EXCESSIVE. 3 different types of cheese! It was like eating just bread and cheese. I ended up not finishing my sandwhich, but it honestly wasnt that bad. Mediocre at best, would give 3/5. Worth the price, and next time I'll just ask for less cheese.

Horrible food....the bread taste like Wonder Bread. The roast beef is sliced thin and the only put 3 slices on....looks like about an ounce of meat. The au jus is very salty. And they are blaring hard rock music. Horrible place!

After several re-tries of this location, I've finally decided to give it up. The location is worn down (ripped seats, ragged surfaces, and just generally dumpy looking) and is consistently understaffed. My husband and I went during the lunch hour on a Saturday on our way out of town and I had to wait over 15 minutes for our sandwiches. As the girl behind the counter handed me our food she said (with no apology) "there are only two of us here today." In the past when I have been to this location, a man who I assume is the owner is always there. He isn't exactly rude, but he isn't exactly friendly, either. The hours of the location are odd and combined with everything else, I've just decided to give up. The food is consistently good, don't get me wrong, but being in customer service, I know that the product alone won't keep the customers.

I like BTH - I like BTH a lot. I get myself the pastrami and salami sandwich on white bread without the lettuce, tomato and pickles. I don't need a lot of extras - just give me the food. I lied, sometimes I get the BBQ chips and smoosh them on the sandwhich for an extra OOMPH of flavor. I've been to a few BTH's in the area and this one stands out. Each time, the sandwich is perfect. The owner recognizes his regulars. The bread is fresh, as is the heart of the sandwich (in my case the meat). It typically only takes a few minutes to get the food after the order & they go as fast as possible. The biggest downer of this location is that it's closed on Sundays always!

I like Big Town Hero better than Subway or JJ. Good bread, fresh veggies, good size portions for your money and always good service. The owner does always remember my name and that's nice compared to all the other lunch options where they could care less who you are. I would eat here late if they were open, but the area is more of a lunchtime-busy area.

Whoever thinks this place is better than other sub places is out of their minds. I went to this place for the first time recently and ordered an Italian sub and an italian panini. I saw a man behind the counter standing next to the cashier who seemed like the owner but never bothered to greet me when he was right in front of me. RUDE! Waited about 15 minutes for the food when my order was the only one they had. When the cashier handed me the order in a to go bag, it was already soaking from the veggies and italian mayo. After opening the panini, it was soggy and not even on sourdough bread. My wife and I felt like we had just eaten a big blob of crap! I didn't even finish my sub. Customer service needs more improvement and a lot more flavor. I can say for a fact, that we won't be returning nor recommending this place. Looks like I'll stick to the best places: Jimmy John's, Jersey Mikes to name a few.

Owner of this place is a real nut job. Walked in to store a while back and he starts acting really weird......I order and he is still acting weird. Finally he asks me "what are you doing here".....I told him I was getting lunch. Then he asks me again "what do you want", and I ask him what is really going on. Apparently someone stole a couple bucks from the tip jar and this dolt decided I looked like that guy. Thing is, I was out of town on the day this apparently happened and the video he has of this looks nothing like me. I even told the guy to call the cops while I was there, but even after he realizes it is not me, he is still a jerk. I send off complaint to BTH corporate and get apology and food comp and he gets a reprimand. I wouldn't eat here again, if it were the last restaurant in town.

Try the foot long turkey, bacon, avocado on the cheesy garlic bread. Do it on Tuesday and you will get double points on a returning customer card.

Awesome sandwiches and even more incredible service. I come here every week because of both! Call ahead to order and walk in pay and bounce house out!

Don't get a panini here. This is not a panini place. This is a sub-shop type place so get one of those. 'Cause they are GOOD. I love their bread - soft, fresh and delish. Plus, their Turkey, Bacon Avacado is fabulous & the bacon is (gasp) actual BACON.

The owner remembers your name. The subs are excellent especially the prime club. Good food, fast, and hospitality. Best spot around for subs.

Delicious sandwiches! The ingredients taste fresh and delicious. I'm suprised subway around the corner is still in business....

Bah. There are so many places to get a good sandwich in Portland, so why bother with Big Town Hero unless you are desperate? My big annoyance relates to their bread....it's just not that great. And their paninis aren't real, they just take their regular old bread and "squish" it. That's not a panini....

Great sandwiches at pretty average prices. Tastes way more fresh than the really big chains (subway, Quiznos). Only downside is pretty poor hours. Make sure it's actually open before heading over.

I really like these sandwiches. They're much better than Subway (blah). I like the bread, soft, and fluffy. It's usually the predominant smell when you walk into any Big Town Hero. I usually enjoy the pastrami sandwich with everything on it. The prices are pretty inexpensive and it's usually really fast. This one's located in a Fred Meyer mall, so parking isn't going to be a problem. It's clean, but small.

I LOVE it! Good food, low prices, and REALLY nice staff. Can be crowded at lunch, though.
