Frozen yogurt is probably one of my favorite desserts hands down, so I consider myself a frequent at Yogurt Extreme. The flavors, quality, and variety of froyo at Yogurt Extreme could be better, but the wide variety of toppings make up for it. I've tasted froyo from many other places in Cali where the frozen yogurt scene first blew up and Yogurt Extreme pales in comparison to most.. except for the toppings. Yogurt Extreme is definitely not a Pink Berry or Tutti Melon.. however, the yogurt isn't ridiculously over priced like some yogurt places in Cali. Buuuuut, since this is Eugene and not Cali, I'm satisfied enough with Yogurt Extreme, replacing my need to get froyo from Vanilla Jill's - tastier yogurt, but less toppings and more spendy. The whole wii set-up can get a bit annoying, but other than that I like the location and extremely bright color scheme.

Same yogurt as most places. Good toppings selection! Total rip off of Yogurt Central around the corner. They even have the same tv slide show thing up. Although I am sure they didn't invent that. What I don't like is the atmosphere, feels like a cafeteria.

tonight we thought we would try one of the other yogurt shops in the area we were unimpressed.. The place is bright and new looking they did a lot of work to remove the China Blue feel, it is also lower in cost than some of the other shops in town the taste of the yogurt was more of a chemical flavoring taste we just couldn't eat it. It was a bit difficult to throw away our dishes since the trash can looked like it hadn't been emptied all day, we decided to drive over to Vanilla Jill's and get some quality. I'm sure this is a great place to have so close to campus but it can't even compare in quality.

Amazing. Simply amazing. The staff is extremely friendly whether in line at Qdoba or at work. The product is top notch, the concept is rock-solid, and they perform the way they are supposed to. Basically if you're in eugene and are craving sweets, its worth trying to find parking. Hit Qdoba first and Y.E. afterwords for dessert and you're set.

I have definitely found my new favorite yogurt place in Eugene. Since moving here, I've been on the prowl to find one and Yogurt Extreme is definitely it. They serve Yo Cream frozen yogurt, which I previously had and loved at the brand store in Portland. It is flavorful and creamy (not icy like a lot of yogurts I have tried). There are tons of choices, and I love that you can serve yourself. This way you can mix difference flavors together exactly the way you like it. The topping bar is a dream come true and just like the yogurt, you can put what kind of toppings you want in the amounts you want. And one of the best things is that it is paid by the ounce. I get frustrated paying the same price for sprinkles as you do fresh fruit or candies at other places. I tried Vanilla Jill's but didn't think the taste was worth the price unlike at Yogurt Extreme where you get taste and good price to go!

Excellent! Great frozen yogurt and a huge selection of toppings. My kids love it and the self serve is fantastic. The Wii games are great for the kids too. Great service and nice employees and owners.

This place is upstairs a couple places down from the Duckstore. That's the first clean I like because I'm autistic which means I like a quiet place up away from everything so I can hear myself think, and when I want a dessert! You get up there to this nice collegy cafe setting with dark wood furniture and pink decor. And there are many flavors and toppings to choose from. And the frozen yogurt is excellent. It is a bit pricy, but I will take it for the atmosphere. Highly recommend!!!

Very good with tons of selections of different flavors and toppings.

A standard fare yogurt shop right on U of O campus. They definitely have a theme going on with all the pink, because once you walk upstairs you might have flashbacks to a Barbie commercial. The owners and employees are proud supports of women in the work place and I appreciate that. TV's play sideshows of pictures of partitions with their yogurt. Tables all have trivia cards on them, which my group of friends found extra fun. We actually stayed a copious amount of time to simply play games with the cards. Aside from everything else, the yogurt was just okay. Nothing bad, but nothing staler. The topings however were most definitely above average. I'd argue one of the best that I have EVER scene from a froyo shop, and ive been to a looooooot of froyo.

This is now my second favorite place to get self serve yogurt. This is kind of an interesting places you have to walk up stairs. This yogurt extreme seems to have the most choices of any of the self-serve yogurt places around including toppings as well as flavors of yogurt.

I'm from Socal where yogurt places are as common as Mormons in Utah - so to be honest I didn't have super high expectations for a yogurt place in Eugene. If toppings were their own category, they'd get 5 stars. Love, love, loved the selection and quality of toppings. I always judge places by their Reeses cups. If they're nasty and old and crumbly, I assume most of the toppings are old too. But these were fresh and delicious. Yogurt selection was alright. Flavors and quality/taste could be a lot better. My local spot of CDM Yogurt in Corona del Mar, CA uses fresh ingredients to make all of their flavors (like putting real oatmeal cookies in the oatmeal cookie flavor) and it makes a big difference. Some of the flavors (like cheesecake in particular) just tasted kind of off to me. Peanut butter and chocolate were solid though. I do applaud them for being fresh with their ingredients though and not using powder like a lot of other places.

  • Joey H.

YUM-O! This place has more flavors and toppings than any yogurt soft-serve I have seen in town. The one problem, where is my peanut butter ice cream?!

Just went to extreme yogurt tonite and was so disappointed with the cleanliness of this place. Went to use the restroom and it was disgusting. It looks as if it has not been cleaned in two weeks. It also makes me think that if they don't clean the restroom what else do they not cleaned. I wonder if they know that people look at how clean the restrooms are and judge the rest of the place on that. Hope that they get their employees to go to work and clean it. Cause as of now I won't be back and will tell everyone about this. GROSS

Very awesome Idea and tasted great! DIY Yogurt bars are fantastic, I had a few samples before I landed on the flavor of frozen yogurt I wanted. It's ok to mix but I stuck with something simple. The huge selection of toppings was mind boggling. I can't even imagine the number of combinations possible with number of candies, fruits and syrups available. The only thing that put me off was the wall to wall douchey college bros hanging out. I'd say at least half of them weren't even buying/eating anything. They were just there to take up space and playing on their phones. As soon as I got my frozen yogurt to go, I took off. The vibe was more like a meat-head gym then a fun dessert establishment. All things considered, I'll be back for sure but I won't be bringing anyone that I'd like to have a conversation with unless the goal is to leave and find someplace else to eat..

This is a cute set up; very colorful and exciting. The yogurt selection is limited, but the toppings are endless.

We love Yogurt Extreme! We usually find ourselves here once a week to make a tasty treat. They have a nice variety of yogurt flavors (many gluten free, with live cultures, and a few dairy free options) and every topping you could possibly think of. The environment is fun and loud. We dig it!

Things will get sticky. Extremely sticky. Is there any yogurt place that you don't leave feeling like you need a shower or at least a pint of hand sanitizer? The endless slideshow of little kids that scroll through the flat panel televisions is weird. Your creepy uncle is not allowed to visit Yogurt Extreme. Can I get a basketball game on? Shit, I'll settle for Drake and Josh, just enough of these pre-teens striking poses trying to be the next Hannah Montana. Don't even get me started on those bean bag chairs in the corner. Monk would have a fit if he came within 30 feet of those germ magnets. Slimy kids and melting yogurt all fornicating, crossbreeding, and evolving into a super virus? No thanks. I extremely miss the ole' dirty chinese restaurant that used to exist here during my undergrad years. Grab some bad food and a big pot of tea and watch the hustle-bustle of 13th below. You can still do that with yogurt now, but there are just way too many people. And like I said. Things will get sticky.

I would have named this joint "Yogurt Overwhelming." There is way too much going on here. From the TVs on the magenta walls to the smorgasbord of low-quality toppings, I feel like I am going to have a panic attack. If I smoked PCP and liked the option of overloading my yogurt with a grocery's worth of toppings, then I would hail YGRTXTRM. But as it is, I have taste and that taste dictates that I shop elsewhere.

This is place is awesome! Moving away from Hawaii, one of things I knew I would miss the most (besides, you know, the beaches, and the sun) was my beloved Yogurtland, a self-serve frozen yogurt shop with both sweet and tart yogurt as well as goodies like mochi balls. Yogurt extreme definitely fits that bill and then some! The space is clean and bright, the yogurt is flavorful and smooth. At $0.40 an once, the price is right too. There are toppings galore (including, to my delight, 6 different flavors of mochi balls) as well as cupcakes! Cupcakes and frozen yogurt in the same place? Yogurt extreme, you sure know the way to a girl's heart.

  • Mary H.

This place is way too close to campus to keep me skinny. While I enjoy Vanilla Jill's, there is a lot to be said for piling your cup high with frozen deliciousness and adding on the toppings without judgement. Workers are friendly and the atmosphere is relaxing and fun. You can even play Just Dance 2 on their Wii if you want to work off some of those calories. Also, buy 10 and you get one free. Who doesn't love lunch cards?!

  • Heather S.

Obscene amount of toppings. Hot pink and shiny, bright interior. Crazy yogurt variety you can sample yourself. I didn't love it but my four-year old daughter sure did. You have to try the mango ball toppings - they look like the tapioca ones they put in bubble tea but they are really filled with liquid. Weird and unexpected. Part of me doesn't want to return and part of me yearns to go back right now. It has that kind of power over you. I just wish they'd cozy down the lighting and nix the big screen photo show on the wall.

On most fronts, Yogurt Extreme is not different from all the other make-your-own frozen yogurt shops that are springing up around Eugene, Springfield and everywhere else. It has the same Yo Creme frozen yogurt (which is yummy), same set-up, similar pricing. We got one large and two medium-sized servings for $12. What sets it apart is the incredible variety of yogurt flavors and toppings. AMAZING selection, including about ten frozen yogurt choices and some unexpected toppings such as mochi chips and those un-labeled mystery juice-filled fish egg thingies. Cool. : ) The toppings bar stretches on forever. And the peanut butter! Reese's frozen yogurt, Reese's cereal, Reese's pieces, peanut butter cups and peanut butter topping. Are you kidding me?? I love you. Cons: The atmosphere could use the same attention to detail that the sisters have given the product (walls need some decoration, behind the counter storage area looks sloppy when it could be staged as a cool display). Some of the serving spoons at the toppings bar were grimey, trash cans need lids on them, and garbage/recycling piles that greet you at the entrance need to go away. But overall we loved the product and will be back again (and again).

I can't believe I didn't know Yogurt Extreme existed until a few days ago. This place rules! The concept and execution are prime example of genius-expressed-through simplicity. Why hasn't this been here for years and years? A dozen varieties of yogurt (including at least one dairy-free sorbet) and an extremely well-stocked and impressive choice of toppings. I believe they advertise 90 toppings, but it feels like even more than that. You can top your yogurt with different types of cereal, candy, sprinkles, chunks of sweet things, fruit, sauces, whipped cream, and on and on. . .it's kind of like a Homer-Simpson dream. The staff are friendly and a little sign mentions that they are Oregon-owned and 100% female-owned, both of which make you feel good about spending your money. It's not that expensive either--5 dollars or so (0.40/ounce) for a good size cup, less than you'd probably pay at Vanilla Jill's. And, it is self-serve, so you get exactly what you want in the proportions you want. It's on 13th next door to the UO bookstore and when I went on Thursday afternoon it was packed with college kids, so I'm guessing it is going to be around for a long time. Despite proximity to campus, it is clearly a family-friendly place and a good place to bring little kids. After I've been laid off for the 3rd or 4th time, and I'm getting foreclosed on, and wondering if it is worthwhile to take a sledgehammer to my house in search of copper wiring, I'll be kicking myself because I didn't think to open a place like Yogurt Extreme in a location like the one they have. Well played, Oregon-female-owners, well-played.

This is the best place on campus to bring a bunch of little people. The yogurt is fresh and creamy, not icy. The topping bar can be overwhelming, but in a sugar-high type of way. I'm really impressed with the mochi selection. I miss China Blue, but I'm happy that this place filled the vacancy.

To My Annoying Roommate, I can't stand your loud "study" music so I need to get out. I'm going to head over to Yogurt Extreme. It's your typical make-your-own frozen yogurt shop, with your typical toppings. But still, it's good for my late night sweet-tooth craving. The yogurt is okay, especially for the price, but it's definitely a cool place to kick it with the homehs. If you weren't home right now you'd probably be hoggin the wii yourself playing just dance. It's actually kinda fun watching those people be so into it. Yours Truly, kaibemi buks P.S. I took your punchcard, cause that thing is a deal. P.P.S. I also took your bike cause I don't like finding street parking.

UPDATE: I've returned several times and they seem to have fixed any problems with ice flecks in the yogurt. That is some cool, creamy goodness, Yo(Cream). Turns out that YoCream is a Portland-based company, AND Yogurt Extreme takes care to actually sort and compost their compostable bowls. Pretty cool in my book!

I love the selection here and the fact that unlike so many other froyo chains, they encourage sampling of all the flavors.

This places has an amazing assortments of toppings and an ever changing array of frozen yogurt and sorbet. the best part is they charge by the ounce, so you can really pile on toppings.

This yogurt shop is AMAZING. They have 10 flavors which change every day (and they post what flavors they are serving to their facebook page every day), a huge selection of toppings, and tons of seats (they even have been bags!) I've been to my fair share of self serve yogurt shops, and this, by far, has been the best. The first thing that wowwed me when i walked in was the huge toppings bar, and I was overjoyed when I took a closer look. They had all different types of candy bars, they had 5 different flavors of mochi, a bunch of fresh fruits, these fruit juice filled fish egg looking things (which were quite tasty), 10 different types of sauces, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera. As for yogurt flavors, they had a good selection of nonfat, low fat, sugar free, and non dairy flavors. They had a few tart yogurts, a few fruity ones, and a few non-fruity ones. I actually got 2 cups of yogurt when I was there, one when I first got there, and one when my other friend joined us, and both were really delicious. The price isn't too bad either; $0.40 per ounce, and they have a punch card that's buy 10 get 1 free. They also have a Wii that you can play. Just rent the controllers from the cash register with your drivers license and you can go to town playing Just Dance 2 (if you don't mind dancing in front of the whole restaurant!) The staff is warm and welcoming. When I walked in there were no sample cups, but when I asked a staff member she fetched some from the back right away. My only complaint is that the music was a little bit too loud to have a decent conversation without feeling like I was yelling. I would definitely come back here whenever I'm in Eugene! I'm really going to miss this place! This is a must-go place if you ever find yourself in Eugene!!

so happy that there is a Yogurt Extreme on Willamette! It's close to my work and went there for lunch. Had the peanut butter & chocolate swirled together--can I just say it was the best yogurt ice cream i've ever had!! add to that the peanut butter topping--I was in H E A V E N!!! Can't wait to go back and try something else. I highly recommend it. I like that I get to choose how much and the toppings.

Loving the recent influx of frozen yogurt places all over Eugene. Yogurt Extreme is by far my favorite. Tons of yogurt choices and an insane topping selection. INSANE. Sweet chili sauce on yogurt? Don't mind if I do. They have a lot of fruit for those weirdos who are not looking to get totally cracked out on sugar, and it's always recently prepped, fresh, seasonal when available. Usually I take my yogurt to go, as it can get pretty hectic inside (tons of sugar-filled kids, that obnoxious Wii dance game, etc).

Always yummy. Tonight was hard as they needed to fill the machines and were way behind. Four flavors were empty and a couple others were running out.

I I frequent this place enough that I should actually just let the lady ringing me up give me a punch card (I resist because I don't want to acknowledge I'm a regular, I guess!) and I should really just write a review already. Long story short: I've been to a lot of make-your-own frozen yogurt places, on the east and the west coast, and this one has to be my favorite. Seriously! If you grab frozen yogurt here, you should know what you're in for: bright pink walls, holographic tables, and classic 90s tunes. However, I've never found the decor or the options to be too too much, and this coming from someone easily overwhelmed by the cereal aisle at the supermarket. I often come here with a few friends--which is really how you should go to one of these places anyway, with a group of giggly girls--and we have a grand time sampling every flavor before making our selections. I LOVE that someone isn't hovering over you as you sample, rationing out the sample cups as if we're children, like some other places do. It gives you a few minutes to gossip and decide without someone watching over your shoulder. I'm gluten-free, so I'm a fan of their GF yogurt options, and I've tried their sugar-free and dairy-free flavors too, which are also great, if you're into that. The frozen yogurt isn't icy or overly anything, most of the time--there have been a small handful of flavors I wasn't super keen on, but I just didn't buy any of them--and I'm a big fan of their chocolate and Greek honey flavors. There's a binder next to the yogurt with nutrition info, if you're into that as well. For a place with so many toppings options, they keep their space really clean. I like that they often keep their gluten-y stuff in a row, so customers are less likely to grab a spoon from the fruit and dip it into pretzels, or something. I'm pretty sensitive to gluten and I've never had a cross-contamination issue here, which doesn't mean that you won't either, but I would find it pretty unlikely. (Eat at your own risk, as always!) There's always enough of every topping--chocolate things, gummy things, nuts, and so on--and they even denote sugar-free options for you. I've never seen them run out of anything, and I often see the employees cutting up for fruit, refilling the topping bins, and mopping the floor or counter. It's a pretty clean space, considering. I often bring a coupon with me so I feel less guilty about digging in, but I've never spent more than a couple of dollars here at a time for a really nice portion. It's also usually a very pleasant temperature and a lovely respite from the rain or chill outside. I've spent time here with friends playing the trivia games on the tables, and it's never been too noisy or crowded, even in the evenings. This is my favorite place to grab frozen yogurt--maybe next time I go, I'll actually pick up a punch card!

Perfect date spot. Great flavor and toppings selection. The pink decor is a little overwhelming at times but it's fitting for the place. Decently priced and good service.

Eugene is currently engaged in a short-term experiment to see how many yogurt shops can open, then close, in an 18-month period. It is likely that Yogurt Extreme will outlast the grey techno-hip monstrosity that is Juicy Berry, but that will be mainly because of the location. They do have a vast array of toppings. The yogurt (which is bought in, not made by them) is of a decent quality, and can be found at many shops. They are a good addition to the UO area, and will also thrive on the 10-16 crowd. Avoid it immediately after middle school functions, if you value your sanity.
