Wow. Just wow... so, my family and I placed our order. That much went well. We were greeted by a pleasant young lady. She was more than cordial and presented well. After that, down hill... as I first approached our table I notice that the peanuts were from the last party as indicated by their depleated state and the fact that the trash bucket was still full of hulls and sitting on the "cleanedish" table. I moved both containers to a neighboring table and grabbed it's peanuts. As I walked back to my table I noticed an extrorinary amount of food sludge on the advertising flyer stuffed in the bucket. It was enough build up that I thought management should know. I approached the counter, where the manager, an older blonde woman was talking with the girl who had taken our order. I told her about the flyer and she replied flatly and with an expressionless stare, very similar to that of a irritated the fifteen year old girl, that she was sorry. I know the look well, it mean my words were unheard. I returned to my table, certain that the flyer would soon be back in rotation without a cleaning. As I sat at the table I realized that I had made a horrible mistake. I was facing the food preparation area. There was young man there. Very thoroughly cleaning his work station and the floor under it. Picking up little bits of wilted lettuce dropped earlier In the day and partially dried to the non slip coating on the floor. I thought, "That's nice. At least his area is clean." Then I saw him grab a plate and fully thumb someone's food with the same gloves he was wearing for his lettuce picking and take it to a customer. When he returned to his work station he did change his gloves. Thank God. Because our food was next. I had the California chicken sammy. It lacked any dicernible flavor besides salt. The kids had chicken strips and seemed pleased. The wife had a baked sweet potato and said it was fine. When we were ready to leave, my wife had to carry my granddaughter as she had fallen asleep. As she exited the booth she slipped in the floor sludge under our table and pinched my granddaughters fingers between the booth and her back. We got to here her cry all the way home. I'll rate them 2 stars. ONLY because I have seen worse.

This was first time going there. Food portions are huge lots of left overs! We sat in the server section were they come to your table for your order. It was very very slow service they were super packed and under staffed. Our server did a great job once she got to us but could tell she was panicky! I would go back but not during normal dinner or lunch hours would be a even better place if they had more staff! I posted photos of food portions too.

They changed the menu. They changed how you order. It's like Sizzler now. Not a happy camper. Don't fuck with what works.

Like some if the other comments. Food is great. But getting your drinks and silverware? And not really checked on during meal and you pay first with them expecting a tip. I am sorry service quality determines tip I give.

We ate here because it was close to our hotel. We were pleasantly surprised at the good taste and large portion sizes. It was a good value as well. The buns with cinnamon butter were wonderful. The sweet potato was delicious. Recommend the place. I'd go there again.

WoW!! My Wife and I have dined here (the Eugene location) about eight times in the last three months and have always enjoyed the service, food, and atmosphere; but this recent visit was beyond good. Jeremy greeted us and welcomed us in and kindly held the door (I am in a wheelchair) He guided us to a tall booth that was really comfortable. Suggested menu items that we had not tried before (We already have told folks we meet that Texas Roadhouse has THE BEST Ribs in the valley- bar one!!! They really DO fall off the bone. It is so thoughtful (and smart) we can add a sidekick of ribs, allowing us to enjoy THE BEST steak in the valley as well. We were big time regulars at outbacks, but since discovering Texas LONGHORNS - we will NEVER go back to outbacks - even giving to family our outbacks gift card- wouldn't eat there for free!!! outbacks steaks are like Charlie Chaplin eating his shoe in a silent film!! as compared to Texas Longhorns cut it with a fork tender. These steaks are better- flavor wise, texture, to get one a bit better (although at three times the price) Charly's in international square Orlando, Fl. is the closest fair comparison. I also have been happy with the chicken dishes. By the way the only positive asset at the local outbacks (Sandy - our favorite server of all time) is now a manager at the Eugene Texas Roadhouse - no wonder it runs like a well oiled machine (without the mess!!!) SANDY always makes us feel very welcomed EAT here often, you will be happy you did. So it is not too crowded when we arrive I will not mention Wild West Wednesday's 9.99 for a 9 oz. tender, mouth watering steak with two sides!! How's that for value Chuck and Pennie Farrington

First time here. I'll be back. The order at the counter and then they come to you is fun. The food is super reasonably priced and excellent. I had a huge chicken fried steak with 2 sides for under $11. My wife had the wild caught salmon with a loaded sweet potato. (The load includes marshmallows!). The salmon was great. Her margarita was large, tasty and not watered down. Even the peanuts on the table were good. There were 3 birthdays and the usual staff sung birthday song involved getting other guests to join in. It has a ton of tv's with sports and the country music videos that were playing through the speakers. It has a lot of seating. It's pretty loud atmosphere but you don't really notice unless your asset training the level for a review. ;). Large variety in the menu, good service, good prices and a full bar. Why wouldn't you go? So stop reading Yelp and get over there. :)

My family and I decided to try this place after my finacee, and his bromance went to it for steak before seeing a movie. I was pleasantly surprised by the service, and the quality of the food, but we did go into the side where they seat you. The food was excellent, and I didn't find it too pricy either. It was my turn to pick up the tab for the night, and I really was surprised at the low price for two adults, and teenage daughter who is much bigger than myself. What I liked best was my salad was absolutely huge! I enjoyed every bite until it was time to box it up.

As promised: An update after eating an entree at the Texas Roadhouse! We stopped by here on a busy Saturday afternoon, and were happy to see that the Roadhouse is doing well. We got a seat in the bar again for full service, and perused the menu. My first thought was: Chicken Fried Steak! But then I read the (somewhat unimaginative) names and descriptions of the other dishes, and realized that the Beef Tips come with gravy, sour cream, onions, mushrooms and rice. Mmm. Choice made! The Beef Tips are amazing! Huge plate, plenty of meat, onions and mushrooms, and very flavorful. The meat was cooked well too. This dish is essentially a Hillbilly Stroganoff. The Chicken Fried Steak was huge, and very good. Doesn't beat Addi's amazing chicken fried steak, but it's a pretty damn good dish. We enjoyed the Sweet Potato side too, which came loaded with caramel sauce and marshmallows - wow! The green beans were not so good. Clearly canned, and strangely sour. Would not order that again. We didn't go for any desserts after our experience with them last time, but you really don't need appetizers or desserts here. Between the peanuts, bread rolls and sides, I ate only 1/3 of my main course, leaving plenty for lunch. Our total came to a mere $26, which is very impressive. We'll definitely be back, and we're glad we gave them a second try!

Eaten here a few times, the chicken fried steak is HUGE, as are the sides. It's not my favorite but it's tasting and filling.

We went in to order a take out order and it took over 15 mins with only one person ahead of us (who was picking up his order)! It seemed like their take out area is forgotten and not permanently staffed. We walked back in after 15-20 mins to get our order - which was just sitting out on a tray. I stood there at least 5 mins before someone came over. When she did she was very nice, but didn't know we had ordered drinks with our order, so she got those. She offered rolls and butter (even offered their special cinnamon butter) and I said, "please" (Who turns down hot rolls? Yum! ;) ) . When we got back to the hotel there were no rolls in our bag! After all that. I asked for one cheese and butter on my baked potato, but they mixed the cheese w the bacon - I picked it out and just ate the specks, but that wouldn't have been OK for a vegetarian. I think they need to direct a little more attention to the take-out part of their restaurant.

It's just another Roadhouse. Nothing too special. I come for the $9 steak and endless dinner rolls, can't really complain about that. The service is always good and the food comes out rather quickly. They could prepare the food a bit better and use fresh ingredients, but whatever, like I mentioned, I'm usually jus here for the free bread :)

everything I've had there so far has been excellent, the service is always great. The Texas Roadhouse in Eugene is my favorite place to eat in town. Well Done folks!! ;)

As soon as we got In we had warm bread, busier the place, the better experience. The burgers are usually solid and you can't ever go wrong with their mash.

Wasn't really sure what to expect. But wanting to try it out. I was pleasantly surprised! It had the sterilized version of a Texas BBQ Roadhouse. Set up the same way as you'd expect. Place your order at the counter, find a bench to sit, grab your utensils...just like the BBQ places I love visiting in Texas. Service was great, everyone very helpful. Brought out our drinks, food, made sure we were good. No pissy looking employees. Everyone appeared to want to help. The food was solid! The steak was cooked just past where I like it but was still tasty! Ribs were ok. Nothing special. They did fall right off the bone. The pulled pork was loved by the three that ordered it! Lots of food! Two items that were amazing....the rolls with the cinnamon butter and the Ceasars side salad! Ice cold bowl, crispy croutons! Yum! Ooooooooo and the fries! Like Red Robin fries with better seasoning. Next time, and there will be a next time! Will order a bigger steak and try out an appetizer. Would love to see brisket or trip on the menu. As Texas is all about beef!!! Maybe date night at the separate bar area.

We didn't order at the counter. That seems a little weird to me. If you go to the back of the restaurant they have traditional seating there. Sat and ate at the bar, good service. Lots of TVs for watching the game. I give their steak a grade of B. Better than average but not going to impress you. I had the ribeye. Their bread appetizer is very good! I also had a shake for dessert, which is really good too. The service was above average in the bar space. They were pretty busy, but attentive. I am not giving 5 stars for two reasons. First, I didn't experience the main part of the restaurant which is the counter style order. It didn't look too enjoyable to me. Secondly, because they don't explain the traditional seating option available. No signs, no nothing. Had I not yelped this place in depth before going we would have had no idea. I likely would have walked out and gone to Chili's next door.....sorry, but you don't order steak at a counter!??!

Love this place! Best grilled chicken Caesar salad in Eugene. Super generous portions, and they don't mind if you share an entree.

Nah. You can here the country music from a ways in the parkinglot, which should tell you how loud it is inside. When you walk inside you stand in the entry staring up at a menu. After deciding what you want, and kinking your neck, you order and take some electronic gadget to a table. Oh and a basket of bread. Along the way you get your silverware and drinks. Forget any convèrsation at the table, it's to loud (the country music). Luckily, the electronic gadget led the waitress to our table with the food fast. Super nice waitress. The half chicken I had was fall of the bone good, but the buttered corn had this odd lime taste. Mom had a salad big enough for two, and dad had a chicken fried steak that was so dry it was almost like eating jerky. We ate and left quickley, it was way too loud!

"How's the steaks?" I asked the waitress when the two of us walked in to Texas Roadhouse in Eugene Oregon. She said they're great but the ribs are the best. I tried both and will never ever come back. You should save your money too and go to sizzler or some other cafeteria place masquerading as a steak house. The overly sweet drinks.... Boiled ribs with BBQ sauce thrown on top does not make "TEXAS" ribs. Guess they are hoping people this far from the long horn state are too naive to know boiled Meat does not make smoked good Texas BBQ. Waitress asked about our food "is everything alright?" I said no the ribs were awful and the sirloin was cold. She said "I'm sorry." Then she simply left - we chuckled. A manager returned and asked if "there anything we can do about your meal?'" I said no thanks....not my job to tell a really bad food chain how to improve. Then he left. We chuckled. He then returned and said here's a certificate to return to his resturant and try his bad food a second time. Really? Too much oversell and over hype by the staff of bad food makes this place a marketing hole not a decent Texas eatery which I would recommend or return to. I travel to Eugene several times a year from Los Angeles...but I will never ever go back and eat the Valley River mall food served at Texas Roadhouse Eugene. I advise staying away and saving the $60 like us - never ever again. So sad Yelp allows (what must be) restauranteur and his family members run up 45 good reviews thus tricking us real yelp folks who depend on the integrity of Yelp's system to determine where we eat and spend $60. Give me my money back not your stupid certificate that I threw into the trash on exit. With these types of YELP dupes ...I'm less inclined to trust yelp in the future. Just tired of these fake likes! You? Read the 1 stars....honesty saves $$$$$$!

My family was in Eugene for the weekend and this place was across the street from the hotel. At first we didn't know what to think. You stand in line, waiting to place your order. Luckily the menu is posted so you can decide before your turn to order. I'm fine with seating myself and getting my own beverages. We found a table and got settled in. From that point the experience was awesome! The dinner rolls with cinnamon butter are wonderful. My picky eater daughter ordered a small steak with fries. Both were perfectly cooked. I couldn't believe she ate without complaining. Everything we ordered was wonderful. This is place we will go when we visit Eugene.

Some of the best steak I've had. Extremely tender and cooked to perfection. The seasonings used really enhance the flavor of the steaks. The prices are very reasonable given the huge portions of the dinners (I got two solid dinners out of my prime rib dinner--it came with two sides in addition to the prime rib). The server was hysterical as well--very friendly and always cracking jokes. Like some other reviews mentioned, the music got a little obnoxious after a while, but can't complain too much given the whole theme of the restaurant. While this is a chain, it's definitely one to give a try.

The stars are for the food only. But don't get too excited. It's a steak place and you can get steak anywhere. The only thing special about this place is the misleading web site, rude staff, non-existent customer service and Disneyland wait times and winding lines. Let's start at the beginning. Web site tells you to click here for reservations. My iphone auto dials the number. Perky girl tells me I'll need to hold for reservations. Waiting...waiting. Manager comes on to tell me they don't take reservations and that they're doing things differently from what the web says. Goes on to tell me that not being told no reservations when I call, waiting on hold and being told no reservations bY a manager IS THEIR VERSION OF CUSTOMER SERVICE!!' So ok, not the end of the world. Let's get to the restaurant... 2 entrances??? Which to pick...the main one. Enter and be forced into a roped off winding line similar disney's haunted mansion. We milled through the ropes for almost 20 minutes. I felt like mooing but we were in a steak house. seater girl NEVER and I mean NEVER smiled. Then she orders us out of line to stand in the corner in front of the exit. because there's no table for us (10 more minutes of waiting) Employee squeezes past me, out the exit, without saying excuse me while lighting a cigarette. I tell the manager. He goes after him but neither ever apologize. Finally time to order...it's just like being at Sizzler! Except I have to get my own beverage. We had to bring our bread to our own table Non-smiling seater girl (who clearly does not "love" her job or humanity based on her demeanor) points at another girl half way across the room will seat us. A table is a table. Music was GROSSLY loud. No silverware or water. Some kind of waitress comes before we are seated and lays 3 salads down and walks away! No "who ordered salad?" Just sets em on the table while we're standing there and WALKS AWAY!!! Food is delivered before anyone had more than a few bites of salad. Food was fairly good. My medium steak was burnt on one side and dried. I flagged down a waitress and she corrected it promptly. Not once were we checked on after being seated and served. Want refills on your beverage? Fetch your own! Still no customer service. Just before we leave we notice a segregated section of the restaurant with a sign that says, "Full Service". Are you freaking kidding me????? I just spent more than $30 on a kids meal, an entree and tip (cause I assumed I would get service) and found out I was in the Disneyland/Sizzler section when I coulda bought the same food, for the same price and actually been treated like a CUSTOMER?!?! Bottom line... Staff here should NOT be wearing shirts that say, "I my job!" Food is average. There is NO CUSTOMER SERVICE in the Disney/Sizzler section My recommendation...Sizzler has a salad bar to go with its steaks. Anyone up for the EXCELLENT customer service there?

I wasnt expecting much from a chain restaurant and i definitely wasnt impressed. Ordering for a large group was annoying everyone had to order and pay before sitting, which put our food out at all different times. I decided to try a lighter meal and got a salad (ice berg lettice :-/ ) and salmon (super salty). Its obviously a steak and potatoes kinda place geared toward people who like country music big screen tvs everywhere and a noisey environment.

First off, there are TWO sides to the restaurant. One side is order at the counter, pay, seat yourself and get your own drinks. Your food is then brought to you. The other side (close to the bar & yes minors can sit here) is restaurant style. Unfortunately no reservations can be made here, however we got in somewhat quickly on a Friday night. You're seated like a typical restaurant and order from the table. The food has been awesome. The side salad is a decent size. The loaded mashed potatoes are to die for. Hands down the best Margarita in town. (Rhoadhouse Rhoadie) The prices are reasonable for what you get. Steak is delicious and so is the salmon. Meals come with fresh rolls and cinnamon butter. MMMMMmmmm! Service has been excellent. Definitely the place to go in Eugene.

The food is good, the price is cheap, and I can always get a seat. My favorite is the 8oz sirloin steak. Each meal comes with two sides. I usually get the chili and steak fries. The chili is seasoned aggressively and does not have beans. They use the trimmings from the steaks as the meat in the chili. They are usually very good at cooking my steak to the temperature I order. Your meal also comes with rolls and cinnamon butter. The rolls are much better that the Original Road House. This place is a hybrid restaurant. You order and pay for your food up front and then have a seat. It like this concept, however, you need to remember to bring cash to leave for a tip since you pay first. I don't like leaving a tip prior to seeing what service I am provided.

You got to take this place for what it is! If you like to sit down and be served and not get up, do not come here, but if you want a low cost steakhouse and you don't mind fetching your own drinks try it out! First of all you order up front. This expedites the ordering speed dramatically, which I like. The prices are very reasonable and you get a bucket of peanuts and free rolls with cinnamon butter. The wife ordered chicken fried steak for 10.50, it came with 2 sides and it was massive! Seriously, this thing would take her 3 meals to eat! I had the bacon cheeseburger for $9. Came with steak fries that were so-so but the burger was really good, 1/2 lb with good flavor and cooked to your liking. Beer is reasonably priced as well if that's your thing. I will say at first it was super awkward. I wasn't really sure what I was supposed to be doing, mostly because our cashier didn't give us cups but once we realized we had to pick up our silverware, fill up our drinks, and pick out our own table it wasn't bad. I liked being left alone, it's my style, maybe not yours. To-go boxes are by the drinks if you are unaware of that as well like I was. As for getting the food out, it was very quick. When I got home I decided I really liked the concept, as long as prices are low and don't have to worry about a tip. I was intrigued by Claire V's review about the brownie, I might get super pissy if I was served that also! (see review/picture)

My ribeye steak was deliciously prepared. Unfortunately, I ordered prime rib. When I noticed the mistake, we had already waited in a long line, ordered, paid, tipped, and seated ourselves in this recently opened restaurant. I though it strange that prime rib look so much like a steak, but was about to eat it anyway when I noticed that my horseradish and au ju (sp?) sauce were missing. The waitress didn't apologize, she just said, let me get someone for you to talk to. The young manager person didn't seem sure if what to do either. At this point we had already paid. He couldn't tell me the price difference. He didn't offer to refund. He didn't offer any discount or free food. I could have had my plate taken away and had a new one in ten minutes. But mom already had her food and I wanted to eat with her. I'm not too fond of restaurants where you have to grab your own silverware and drinks and still pay $20 a meal. I've been to two other Texas Roadhouse restaurants in other states (WA & ID) where I was pleased with the service first of all and the food just as much. One of my favorite features was getting warm rolls and butter upon bring seated. This time I had to ask for rolls, and the waitress said I should have ordered them up front, but she would bring me some anyway. All in all, a pleasant meal with my mom. We will give them another chance after they get settled, and try to squeeze in to their full service section. Apparently you have to ask fit that these days! Go figure!

Had dinner on a busy Saturday night. Fun atmosphere, quick friendly service. I had their 8 oz? filet. It was one the most tender steaks I've ever eaten ( i was told they hand cut their steaks right on the premises). Will definitely be back~

Update: Went back with a party of 5 on a weeknight and it was just ok. Food was not cooked as well as the first time and everything just felt a little tired. I will give them another shot and see how it goes. Ordered the Prime Rib and it was cooked to perfection. I had never been to a Texas Roadhouse with counter service but it went surprisingly well. Overall a nice dinner and we will surely return.

Delicious! My husband and I ate here for the first time today. We both got the steak and BBQ chicken. The meat was tender and the portions were huge for a good price. I will definitely be going back.

I was so happy when I heard they were opening a Roadhouse in Eugene. ! My husband and I drive from Vancouver WA. It is so worth the 250 mile drive. The meat on the ribs really just fall off. No extra work needed. Their food is so amazing and so worth the price. We love Texas Road House and plan to make many more visits.

Had a pretty decent meal here last night. Ordered the BBQ Pork Sandwich and it was really good. Subtracted a star due to no BBQ Sauce coming on the plate. Are you kidding me? That had left a sour taste in my mouth until a nice glass of Strawberry Lemonade washed it away. I'll be back.

Love this place! Every single time our steaks are cooked exactly as we want them and the food is always delicious....THANK YOU to the cooks, you all rock!! The servers/wait staff are very personable and friendly. The entire family likes coming here because the food is great and the atmosphere is upbeat. I appreciate the self service beverage bar so we don't have to wait for someone to refill our soda or tea.

I LOVE this place. You walk in and order at a counter then a gps number is given to you and they come to your table with your food. Want more direct table service? Simply sit in the bar... they will take your order at your table just like a tradition restaurant. Music is always playing and it is fun and loud but we still can maintain a conversation at the table. 1) the rolls with cinnamon butter are fantastic and I don't like bread 2) the fried pickles are AMAZING with ranch and are a huge portion 3) the loaded sweet potato is WAY sweet and divine if you want dessert 4) the loaded baked potato is also fantastic -- the cook it with some salt on the outside of the skin which is awesome. 5) I love refillable drink stations that I can serve myself 6) the sirloin steaks are AMAZING you do NOT need to get the filet... AND you can add on ounces for a reasonable price and get steak for dinner and then lunch the next day -- I think you can make it up to a 20 oz... YES! 7) drink menu looks awesome although I haven't had any yet... 8) roadkill is also AMAZING. You really should try it sometime. 9) love to eat peanuts before the meal comes? This is your place. 10) service is always fast and attentive -- if something is not right let them know Downfalls: 1) know what you want before you walk to the register so you don't hold up the line 2) I don't like the cactus (bloomin onion similar) sauce -- it just is too sweet 3) their country fried steak is huge and cook great but the gravy is sweet... not my fave. 4) hard to get someones attention at the table after you are served. Overall I love this place. A bit on the higher end but good to eat at every now and then!

Excellent experience, great food and atmosphere great country music, tvs everywhere. Food is terrific, we shared a full rack baby backs and Caesar salads, a lot of meat for about 20 bucks. Ribs we're fall off the bone tender and delicious. We didn't even know it was here since the sign faces the wrong way.

An afternoon at VRC resulted in a desire for lunch on DLW's part. We ducked into Texas Roadhouse for a nosh, and came away wholly unimpressed. It had been a while since either of us had experienced this place (at other locations), and this confirmed why. It's a counter order system, with menu items displayed as you enter the building. Inside it is quite large, about 200 seats, with separate bar area. Country music blares at a reasonable volume. They still offer free peanuts, but now encourage you to throw the shells in a bucket instead of on the floor. I ordered a BBQ pork sandwich with steak fries and pickle. The meat was decently tender and flavorful, but the sauce was pretty sweet to my taste, and the fries were overly salted. DLW was not impressed with her ribeye. Although it was cooked to medium rare as specified, it was pretty thinly cut, and had a weird mushy texture that she found off-putting. It was probably chemically tenderized for too long. The house steak sauce didn't help much for being very sweet. The corn she got as a side was absolutely doused with sugar. Hard to believe some people consider this a destination spot.

Frankly I am amazed at the people that leave bad reviews on ordering at the counter and don't take the time to read other YELP reviews first! This place has two sides! One yes you order at the counter which most of you complainers can go to, and then there is another side by the BAR which you can go and dine and they will gladly take your order from your table like a normal service restaurant. My service here has always been great, and so has my food! It's perfect for that fat kid that loves cake kind of feel! You have your peanuts while you wait, they bring you hot buttered rolls with cinnamon butter which oh man! Stop me from eating those! I usually get the rib eye steak medium rare with sautéd onions and they have never over cooked it. It's like it melts in your mouth when you take a bite! Perfect for a steak head! Please read the reviews before you enter, and then you can have a great experience and won't have to complain. If you are not into listening to music.... I mean at all! Then maybe this place is not for you. Because I for one have never felt the music was too loud or uncomfortable that you could not hold a conversation. There are plenty of places in Eugene that play music while you dine and I rather enjoy it! Do you want to live under a rock in silence?

I've lived in Washington for the past few years and we don't have a Texas Roadhouse anywhere near us up there. I used to go all the time when I lived in Massachusetts, so I was extremely eager to go here when I was visiting Oregon. I was kind of shocked when I walked in the restaurant and was told to order my food and pay at the counter, then sit wherever I'd like. I wasn't used to that, as I was always used to a sit-down restaurant with servers and whatnot. Everything here was self served. You got your own rolls/butter. You got your own drinks. You got your own take-out boxes. You got your own silverware. The server would bring you your main dish, but that's about it. The food was pretty good though. I always used to get the ribs, because I was in love with the way they would fall right off the bone. But the ribs I had were extremely fatty. There was next to no meat, just fat smothered in sauce. Summary: If you want the full restaurant experience, I'd advise against this place. A lot of it is self served. Expect to get your own refills. Food is mediocre. Wasn't extremely impressed.

All of the food tasted alright. Problem was both of our steaks were slightly over cooked (A1 to the rescue) and our mashed potatoes were room temperature. His chili was actually cold enough he sent it back to be warmed up. I had the sangria margarita which was deeelish. Our server Sarah was fantastic. Not over baring but very timely and helpful. She saw that we handed her a military debit card, so asked if he was in the military. Btw, active duty and vetrans receive a 10% discount on food. She is the reason for 3 stars. If not for her and the tasty drinks it would be a 1 or 2.

Great food, snappy service and what a hack to build loyalty! So this is casual local addition that opened a store in Eugene about a year ago. We have gone many times, once had a lost ticket after a long wait but they were all over it so stuff happens and every other experience was spot on. Frequently, I order the dinner combo with a steak or ribs that also includes a roasted half chicken, rolls, sides, ect. ~Now, here is the deal~ Their roasted chicken is about as good as I have ever had. It reminds me of Rosie's Family Style Diner on old HWY 99 in Federal Way, WA. (long gone) Because of this, I always order it without the BBQ sauce. Nothing wrong with the sauce, it's just the equivalent of going to a high end steakhouse and asking for ketchup. The atmosphere, music, ect. is quite loud, that's just their deal. For the 3rd time, I get my dinner and my chicken is covered in BBQ sauce, they didn't hear me. So, I tell our server Rae about the mistake, adding my comment about the chicken being just too good. Rae cheerfully pulls it and has another one in front of me in 2 minutes at the most. On this visit, we also had an appetizer. So after the peanuts, rolls, appetizer, 2 side and small steak it was over for me, so I was going to take the untouched half chicken home to my son. As I'm loading it into a large to go box, it hits the floor bad. It's over. I'm disappointed, and my wife is annoyed with me but I would never ask for anything as this was completely on me. ~But~ Rae was walking by and saw how disappointed I was. She offered to get me another chicken to which I declined as it was clearly my fault. (and that would have been my third) However, she insisted and my son got his bird. While they didn't make any money on our dinner this night, I really think that spreading the word on Yelp, Tripadvisor, Facebook and not to mention word of mouth should be worth the chicken. And we will be back.

I am really disappointed with the new layout of the restaurant. Now you have to order before you sit down and there are no servers. Therefore, you can't order more food and you have to ask someone by chance walking by for utensils or water. You feel rushed to order. If there's no servers I am not going to tip. It's very confusing and a poor business decision by the restaurant. Not only that, they play loud music so you can't talk to others you are with. I will not come back again.

This isn't a conventional sit down restaurant. You walk in and wait in line to order your food from the menu plastered above. Then you find a seat in the dinning area and wait for your food. FYI this is completely different then the Springfield location which is a normal sit down restaurant. The food here is good however the meat tends to be undercooked so if you don't like the inside red and bloody order well done. You can't go wrong with ordering the combination. It's a lot of food so you get your money's worth!

Haven't tried the food yet. Just got take out. Didn't get my mashed potatoes. Got the feckin toppings but no mashed potatoes.. This is what made me mad enough to write this though. The bag had butter all over the bottom! Just stained the bejesus out of my pants and the friggin leather console of my truck!!! Okay and now to finish my review. The corn was okay. I was imagining corn on the cob, but whatever. The chili was not impressive at all and my chicken fried steak was bland and tough... And no mashed potatoes!! Thanks Texas road house, now I at least know to avoid your eatery. This was an epic fail. Almost fifty dollars for two people take out. Wasn't worth twenty. If you appreciate bland food then this is your place, especially if you're okay with them making a mess of your order. How do you screw it up when it's plainly written out for you??! Can you people even read? Needless to say I'm about angry. I wasted my time, my fuel, and my hard earned money. Texas road house is shiit..

I loved Texas Roadhouse at the east coast but frustrated to find that Washington State doesn't n have one after relocating to Seattle. On a road trip to the south I finally find this restaurant. Really like their style of self-serving. More flexible, no waiting for order or drink refill. Plus you don't have to pay full tip amount of 15%. Baby backrib falls off the bone and was delicious as usual. The one thing I didn't like was the steak was to "skim". I ordered ribeye but it tasted like sirloin. Maybe I should use their pick your own steak feature. That's why I gave it three instead of 5. However this happens to every mid-price steakhouse and I'd like to give it another try at some point.

This place was not impressive. Our cactus blossom that we ordered was not good at all. It just tasted like old cooking oil. My husband got the pulled pork which he said was okay. I think my dish was called beef tips. It was sirloin pieces, sauteed mushrooms, and onions served on mashed potatoes. It tasted okay but didn't sit well with me. I am pretty sure I have food poisoning. I do not feel well at all. Great staff and service. Food not great.

A good place to take your kids, one up from a sizzler's. The meat was tender, however we got there near closing 45 minutes and there was an employee sweeping the floor while we were finishing.. if we weren't finished we were now. Not my best choice.

No thanks. If you're going to have me order at a counter, pick my own table, get my own drinks and silverware... then make yourself scarce... I want a better price. I'm doing 30% of the work and paying 100% of the bill. I have a pile of NOPE for this joint. They only get 2 out of me simply because the food didn't give me the shists. The original roadhouse is well worth the drive, if the options are between the two. I can't wait for this one to fail. Maybe the next tenant will be something useful... Like a gym

Chased by throngs of diners in the area a friend and I found a parking spot next to Texas roadhouse, I chose a Ribeye steak and my friend had the Pulled pork sandwich which was a self assemble affair. My steak was cooked exactly how I asked and considering the place was packed, I was impressed. The pork was a little dry but tasty. There are two things you should keep in mind, the butter for the rolls is cinnamon-sugar infused (weird) and the ranch dressing is real! I've been to a lot of restraunts in the area, most make their ranch soupy, I think in order to save on mayo costs which I hate. This stuff was made perfectly, thick and made with real mayo, not miracle whip or "salad dressing" as some call it. I also highly recommend a Jamaican Cowboy drink blended, so good. Definitely have to try again. Also be aware they do the birthday shout-out thing like Fridays or if your familiar with Farrells from back in the day, like that.

We stayed right down the street at the Valley River Inn and decided to give this place a shot after a 13 hour road trip, and we were glad we did. All the food that we had was very good, from burgers to steaks and even the kids food was very enjoyable. It has a real fun atmosphere and was very clean. We will be going back again on our annual road trip from California to Idaho.

Omg between the excellent customer service and the slow cooked perfection this place has just become one of my top five favorite restaurants in Eugene Springfield. Southern hospitality and and southern home cookin gotta try them ribs if you haven't yet! I'll definitely be back.

The food is good, I will give them that. The service is horrible. First you have to order and pay at the counter like a food court. Then you have to hunt for an open table. Then you have to get back up to search for your forks, knife and napkin. They give you bread rolls and butter, but there is no butter knife available. I had to hunt for my own sauces. I had to beg for a to go bag. Overall the food is worth it, but you have to expect rudeness going in. Oh and they were playing horrible music the whole time, i had to use my headphones and ipod to drown it out.

Great! Like any other roadhouse you can expect country music, good food and good service! Great place for families to go too and I believe great portions for the price they charge! I feel like the staff really do love their jobs...as everytime I been in we are treated with smiles and helpful staff. Love the cream gravy and ribs! Will be back!

I'm visiting Eugene Oregon, my boyfriend and I decided to go to dinner here at Texas road house because the one in Medford is always so wonderful. But I am very disappointed in this one the service is beyond terrible the staff is unhelpful didn't bring us silverware out with our meal, The cherry limeades we ordered tasted like spirit no cherry flavoring nothing, and our good got out to us and was cold and tasted like crap! I will never eat at this place again. No one should come here and waste there time you will get shitty service and old bad tasting food...

The steaks here are so tender, juicy and remarkably delicious! I love coming here on occasion to one of the combo deals. (10 oz. Steak w/ ribs) for just $20. It's very filling for one person so I usually just share it with my fiance.

  • Heather C.

Food and atmosphere were great. A little confusing on entrance and seating...but an employee immediately noticed and sat us. Our server, Jordan, recommended the Dallas filet...and she was right!! House salad was crisp with egg, cheese, and house made croutons. Steak was cooked exactly to order and tender! Ribs truly fall off the bone and the rolls with cinnamon butter are scrumptious.

  • Bee K.

I'll be honest - I don't really think of myself as a Texas Roadhouse kind Of person... But now that I've actually tried them, I could handle the hokey theme and country music for the food. Went here for late dinner with my husband and our friends, and everything we got was good. The ribs? Omg yes. They cook them for 3 days! And their steak is cooked exactly as requested. I like mine no pink, and rarely does anyone actually listen. They listened! What's more? My friend wanted his rare, and they delivered. So nice to have someone actually execute what's requested! The mashed potatoes were fine. A good compliment to the steak. They cut their meat fresh daily, which is a big deal. I didn't love the butter corn, too much butter, but that's me. If you're into ribs or steak, try it out.

  • Abby B.

Two stars, and I would have given 1 since the atmosphere and service were awful, but the food was fine. It was simply not worth the money. I could have paid the same price for excellent table service somewhere else, but instead paid too much to stand in line for 15 minutes before ordering and sit at a dirty table for 5 minutes before someone noticed. I felt herded in and out of there, like cattle being led to the slaughter, irony noted. The worst parts of American culture are glorified in this place. It was frightening and I will never return.

The prices are the same as a sit down restaurant but you order at the counter. We ordered an appetizer, salad, and a main course. The salads came before the ap and we wern't finished with our salads when the main course came. We also ordered drinks that came after our salad and no one offered water. The food was okay. We won't be going back, there are much better full service steak houses priced exactly the same with better service!

Been here a few times since they opened . Can say that i haven't eaten here, but the service is the same as anywhere else. Takes too long to get a drink, and three times as long to just pay and get out. Nothing special here....

I do not like this concept at all. Let me explain what you're getting yourself into... You order at a counter... yeah, like at a fast food joint. You also pay at the counter which means, unless you're tipping in cash, you have to leave a tip on the debit/credit receipt before you ever get service. If you don't know what you're in for (which you wouldn't unless someone gives you the low down or you ask or you've been there before or you've read this review), you'll tip based on a typical sit down restaurant thinking they might bring you your service ware and drinks. Well, don't tip that much. Drinks, appetizer plates, to go boxes, silverware, napkins, etc are all up to you to procure. You also are handed a basket of rolls to carry to your table on top of having to carry everything else. Not impossible or overly hard, but not what I'm paying $12 - $20 a plate for. The appetizer did come up fast and it was piping hot. However, our salads came out about 2 minutes later. Should we have set the salads aside and finished the appetizer while it was hot? Probably. However, the steaks were out about 5 minutes later so then we'd have our entrée before touching our salads. Had this been a restaurant with traditional service, our waiter (provided they were good) could have policed when things hit our table. It's really one of the number one rules of service - don't send the next course out before they are finished with the previous course. They can't police that with this concept. Both people in my party had sirloins. Granted, not the priciest of cuts but typically a solidly tasty steak. To be fair, the cuts were fine, but both steaks were one step past our desired temperature. I ordered med-rare, it came out medium. My husband ordered medium, it came out med-well (borderline well done - almost no pink at all). My side of veggies was a crap shoot. The broccoli was steamed well but the carrots were hard as a rock. If I wanted a side of baby carrots from a bag, I would have gone to the store and bought some carrots myself. The side my husband ordered was overly watery (and not very hot) loaded mashed potatoes. Just disappointing. The salads we received were fresh and good - no complaints with those other than the timing. The rolls were good as well. Since visiting, I've read that there is traditional service near the bar. I wish this was obvious to the people in the front of the restaurant (the bar is in the back, barely visible form the front). Even when we walked up to the counter and seemed put aback by the concept, we were still not told there was another option in the back. I would have chosen that option had we known, however, it wouldn't have saved the overdone steaks and mediocre sides. I gave this two stars because it wasn't a COMPLETE let down. Had the timing been a bit slower to allow for time to eat the courses, then this meal would have been better. My medium steak wasn't what was ordered, but it was tasty. The sides were not. Would I give it another chance? Probably not. I've had better family dining steaks in my time and have had better experiences at other Texas Roadhouse locations. I'll spend my money elsewhere next time I'm down that way.

So this is the first time I have been here. I was a little confused that you order like a fast food restaurant but you sit like a normal sit down restaurant. The food was mediocre at best. I ordered the prime rib with sweet Potato and sautéed mushrooms. The steak was a good medium rare for me, more on the bloodied side versus the medium. The Au jus was a tad funny, it must be their secret recipe. I say the should have kept it secret and just had normal au jus. The mushrooms were horrible they tasted sautéed in the au jus. The sweet potato was tasty. Over all for 40 bucks it wasn't bad but not someplace I would go out of my way to go to again.

I had really high expectations for this place, since tons of my friends have just raved about how amazing it is. It just fell short for me. I don't mind the concept (seat yourself, refill your own drinks) there was plenty to choose from on the menu. Prices were ok. Food came out quickly. It tasted ok. I got the pulled pork with a salad and mashed potatoes. My fiancé got ribs and loaded potatoes. It was all just ok. Nothing special or spectacular, although the burgers did look pretty tasty. I'd give it 2.5 stars, but that's not an option. I actually prefer pretty much everything about original roadhouse grill, although Texas Roadhouse has a slight edge on rolls with the cinnamon honey butter. Texas Roadhouse won't be my first choice to dine out at, but I also wouldn't refuse to go either.

we ordered four meals one 11 oz sirloin and three 5 oz filets what we got were 2 filets, 1- 6 oz sirloin and one 11 oz sirloin. when we asked about the other not being a filet we were told it cooked down that's why it looked like a sirloin. Hate to say it but that's not the way the meat comes off my grill. what we got was a sirloin and the extra we paid for the filet well I guess that went to the house. Something about paying and tipping before you even get your food. You have no way to show you are not happy. At least at the table. We will not be back to this restaurant. and I will not be bring in any of my customers.

The serloin lunch is a good deal. 2 sides come with your meal for $8.99. My steak was overdone. They were happy to make it again at the wellness I requested, although it took about 10 minutes. Very friendly. I initially wanted a burger since I had had an amazing experience before but they would not make it medium. They said it had to be medium well or well done. I'm not sure about this but it was disappointing.

Delicious food! Prime rib is to die for, seriously!! Try it "western style". Self serve fast casual style OR traditional style seating.. What are you in the mood for? The rolls are so good. The owner is super nice too. All around nice place to eat. Full bar to which is always a plus!

We ran in to eat just after an ice storm. It was late, very cold and they were closing! They stayed open to serve us a delicious hot meal. They even brewed a fresh pot of coffee for my husband. They served hot delicious rolls with real butter. Many have given poor reviews about seating. I don't understand this part because we all know how to go sit at the table. I don think folks honestly need someone to walk them to a table. The food is great, prices appropriate And great service !

Love this place and environment. Whole different concept with ordering at the counter which I do prefer sitting down and being waited on but it's still your classic Texas Roadhouse grub! The menu is a little shorter but you still get the soft rolls with amazing honey butter and ice cold beers and amazing steaks. If you want full service ASK for it but be prepared when I went I counted around 10 tables for fu service so it fills up fast! Not the best place for large parties Overall I love this place it's still brand new so be patient as they are working out the kinks of opening up

I've been to Texas Road House many times in Northern California n this is the worst cooking ever. Our party order two rib eye medium rare n one came out medium while the other was medium well, sheeesh. The BBQ rib which I always order came out so bad I can barely eat. Their BBQ rib has always been my fav n I go to Texas Roadhouse because of it. Maybe they had a new cook in training at this Texas Roadhouse in Eugene Or at last nite cus it's far far far below the standard of Texas R that I'm so accustomed to. I do hope this is a one time mistake by this location

Pro: Good food, fair pricing, attentive service from both our server, Damont, but also from the several bus persons, which helped with extra rolls, drinks etc. Food service was prompt, the 12oz rib eye had an excellent flavor and was very tender. The rolls are to die for, the cinnamon butter is excellent. Grilled onions for the steak are also very good. The manager made personal contact, which is always appreciated. Con: I was lucky to have read reviews so I understood the seating process when I got there, but still found no clear information on how the restaurant was set up. Walking in from the mall side, which is common, all you see is the self service, sizzler type side of the restaurant, you don't see the full service side, As I found that side, I helped guide a couple of people to the side they were looking for. When your first impression of a restaurant is confusion, it is disappointing. rather than using several bus people ( they were looking to stay busy) it might be of benefit to have a host/hostess to greet people when they arrive and explain the process to those that are unfamiliar. For some of us, myself included, I tend to think of a discount steak like sizzler when I have to order from a board and seat myself. If I am paying regular menu pricing then I would expect sit down service as the preferred choice. If you are in a hurry, this style would help speed things up, but ultimately I suspect an arrangement like this generally benefits the restaurants bottom line. If you prefer less salt on a steak and prefer a more natural flavor, make sure to tell them to go light on the seasoning. This is the saltiest I have tasted in the area. The blooming onion style appetizer was somewhat bland, the dipping sauce was not flavorful or spicy or much of anything distinct. Bottom line, if you want a good steak and you are in this area and don't want to drive far, than it is a good bet.

Excellent rib eye. (10 oz.) Cooked right..taste great! Baked potatoes loaded and moist, very good! Salad (dinner) good not great. Prices.. $50 2 steak dinners and 4 beers. Not including tip. Service very good. Excellent dinner rolls!

Interesting fast food steak house. You order at the counter and seat yourself. The menu is priced like a sit down place, but you do the work... The steak was pretty tasty and I will be back to try it again. Great before a movie next door because its so fast!

My daughter and I went here yesterday. Here meal, she said, was great, and did look good. Mine was the fried chicken with gravy. Was not a fan of the gravy. A very unfamiliar spice was overpowering it. Salad was mediocre. We found you have to watch the prices and realize when they start asking you....."Would you like..." All of those would you likes are extra, i.e., butter and sour cream on your potato, gravy on your mashed potatoes.

The food was good and bad. I had the California Chicken Dinner. Great main entree but the fresh vegetables I chose for my side were pathetic; just broccoli and baby carrots (I'm sorry but baby carrots are hardly something to get excited about). The baby carrots were still hard and they were drenched in butter, which I did not expect since I was trying to pick something on the healthier side. Seasoned rice was my second side and it was good. Grandma got the ribs and they were delicious. Grandpa got the beef tips, which were good but not a very big portion in my opinion. Seemed there were more mushrooms than beef. It should be noted that this is not a typical restaurant. You order at the front, seat yourself, get your own refills for soda/water. The food is brought out to you, but you are not waited on like you would be in a typical restaurant. BIGGEST COMPLAINT: As I am trying to watch what I eat and keep track of nutritional values, I looked online after our visit to try and find nutritional info on my California Chicken Dinner. I didn't find ANY nutritional information on their entire website (some third party websites have posted a few items nutritional value). I called the store to ask them were I could look to find the nutritional information and they said they did not have any in the store OR online. If you care at all about knowing what you put in your body, be cautious about going here. MAJOR LACK OF NUTRITION INFORMATION.

Absolutely love the restaurant's concept of getting your own drinks and silver wear . The prime rib was excellent as was the BBQ chicken. The chicken was tender and juicy. Prime rib was cooked perfectly. The side salad was large and the prices are very good. Give it a try you will love it. Staff was very friendly as well

My dad loved this place... The country music, free peanut buckets, and fresh rolls reminded him of home and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. They were on top of my gluten free needs and able to provide many alternatives. Fun, relaxed, country atmosphere. Yummy food. We both had the chicken breast with avocado and it was delicious :)

We are big fans of Texas Roadhouse. We live in a motorhome and eat at Texas Roadhouse all over the US. The food is always consistant and delicious. This restaurant was set up differently than any other Texas Roadhouse we have ever been to. You have to place your order before you are seated at the counter. They give you your cup and you fill your own drink. There are no servers. We had to get up about 5 times because there is no service. I looked at some of the tables and they had utinsils so we did not pick up any. Well, the section we had to sit in had no utensils. We had to go to the counter to get our own cinnamon-sugar butter, (which is delicious). We had to refill our own drinks. The prices were the same as the full-service restaurants. I just feel like I had McDonalds or Burger King service. Was not happy with the experience.
