It has bad service. We did not have water to drink until we asked for. Their attitude is bad. We just have four people, but they charge me 15% tip automatically, which means if there is one people eating there, they will also charge you 15% tip. This is unbelievable. I do not recommend this place. If you have other choices, go somewhere else. I am not happy with their services, because their service does not worth.

First I'll start by saying the place that used to occupy this spot was my favorite. Now let me say after eating here I fully miss ari rang's food with all my heart . This new place is always full so I figured it has to be good. Nope its all bad the hot pot broth has no flavor the meat is chewy the weird bread roll appetizer was worth 50 cents and is sold for 3 bucks is scary it's all around bad I won't be back in this life time

When we arrived (party of six) we were told there was no seating available. When we looked around the restaurant there were several tables empty and only two tables with customers. We should have left right then, but one of the members of our party said he had eaten there before and said it was worth the wait. The rude wait staff reluctantly gave us a table (again we should have left) so we sat down. After 20 minutes the server reluctantly came by, we asked him for water, he came back 10 minutes later with a carafe of water and six tiny glasses. The carafe of water was enough for one small glass each and NO refills of water We ordered our food it came staggered so we could not dine together and our friends who ordered the hot pot were given a soup of a chicken foot and dried hot chili peppers. This is no exaggeration. Only 25 minutes after their hot pot was served that the reluctant waiter brought some noodles. It is very very rare that I have experienced such poor rude service. Needless to say while our meal was mediocre at best, the treatment of the staff was deplorable. I will not be back, nor would I ever recommend this place to my worst enemy.

Café Arirang is no more. I don't anyone who will mourn it too much. Nothing there wasn't done better elsewhere in town. In its place is something Eugene didn't have before, a Szechwan restaurant serving small plates that almost qualify as dim sum, as well as full size entrees. They had only been open a few days when DLW and I visited on a Friday night. Already the word was out, as the place was full, mostly with Chinese customers, including a large party in the back room. The staff was in defense mode, apparently in shell shock as the popularity caught them off guard. We were initially told that the wait would be 40 minutes, but we decided to sit it out since there was only one party ahead of us. They took us within ten minutes. Another large group near us had ordered hot pot, huge clay cauldrons of soup that serve at least two parked over gas camping stoves. They looked delicious as well as popular, but we wanted to sample from the appetizers. A few items we wanted were sold out, so we ended up with wontons in chili oil, soft tofu also in chili oil, green onion pancake and crispy fried pork ribs. Whoa, the chili oil is real stuff with a touch of ma la, the famous hot and numbing effect of Szechwan peppercorns. The pancake was wonderfully chewy. And how can fried pork be wrong, especially when it's spiced with garlic and ginger? Honey grapefruit juice was served with lots of pulp but no ice. The cashier admitted to us as we paid that the staff is running ragged from open to close, and they are even seeing lines outside the door before they open. Maybe things will calm down eventually as TCQ becomes a regular part of the restaurant scene. The service hiccups on our first visit prevented me from giving them five stars, but that could change as well. Now if someone could just convince them to serve soup dumplings.

Bad attitude waiter and waitress with crazy 15% auto tip. 服务恶劣,且自动记15%小费!If you are a person like a lot of MSG, here is the best. 味精超多极不健康! I admit the spicy is good here but I will never come again with the service they have. The price is higher than my expectation.性价比极差! When we came in, there is no water served without asking. The waitress had no emotion and did not remind us there is 15% tip on our bill. With the disappointment checking out, they asked where we came from. We are from Seattle, and they mentioned two restaurants which are more expensive than the peers. We don't know why they mention that, but the service of the two is muuuuuuuuuuuuuuuch better than here. The service here reminds the bad attitude service in my hometown where you don't need to pay the tip! We also complained the food is expensive to us, they said it is okay to Oregon, which is four people $82!

I would have rated 4 stars or even 5stars for this place if their service didn't make me a little upset. This place can provide authentic Chinese spicy food, perhaps one of the best in this town. However, the waiter seems impatient and lack of enough smile on his face. And he treats his own countrymen well, but not to everyone. This place also charge 15% of service fee automatically, which makes it less affordable.

I cannot begin to tell you how excited I am that there are not only one, not only 2, but three new Chinese food places here in town that live up to unique and tasty cuisine! The night I decided to go, the place was packed, liked steamed up windows packed. Our servers were on their game, setting us up with utensils, water and menu's. Our waitress was watching me as I juggled the menu in one hand and my cell phone in the other. I was going through the Yelp pictures of this place to decide what we were going to eat. Lol. yeah I'm that girl. So pointing out the pictures on my ever so convenient yelp app, the waitress named the dish. We ended up with three dishes, the spicy won't tons, the dan dan noodles, and the pork belly ramen. OMG. I don't know if it was the atmosphere, or the fact that I was starving, but the food was on point! The spiciness of the dan dan noodles and the won tons had my head spinning, my tongue was on fire but the burn felt so good! The mellowness of the pork belly really evened things out and I ended up pouring the spicy chili oil from the won tons into the pork belly ramen. Our servers were incredibly attentive up until the end. Our server asked us how our food was as I mopped my sweating brow with a fistful of napkins, I nodded enthusiastically and slightly embarrassed that I couldn't quite take the heat. I can't wait to go back, I seriously crave the noodles from BCE and Tasty now, like that's all I want for the rest of the year.....

The food was ok, not so good, not too bad. But the service was TERRIBLE!!! actually the worst service and attitude I've seen EVER, and the most unpleasant experience in any Chinese restaurants in America. The guy didn't even ask if we need anything to drink (he was not busy, the restaurant was almost empty at the time), we felt that we were not welcomed by anyone working at the restaurant at all. Will not visit anymore, we don't deserve to be treated like that.

This place just opened so expect it jamed full of campus students looking for a taste of back home Szechuan style food. I have had this style of food in the go to places in San Fran and NYC. My food was amazing. Don't come here if you're looking for that traditional Oregon style sweet Chinese food, this is authentic Szechuan style food made with chili oil. The Dan Dan noodles I had tasted homemade and they were very good. The spicy dumplings I had also tasted homemade and the sauce they were in was tasty. The scalion pancake is a must get. I can't wait to come back here to try some other dishes that I have not had at a Szechuan restaurant before. The parking here can be a little bit tricky due to the small parking lot in the construction going on next door.

Pleasant staff, I saw hot pot, ate something hot and spicy with lamb soup like thing. I forget the name of it. I'd come back an try more items on the menu. They have a small parking lot and a noisy restroom. It was clean with nice decor. The restaurant not the can. But the facilities were fine too.

Worst restaurant ever. Rude, inconsiderate staff. Made us wait, even tho' the place was empty. Our friends ordered a hot pot They served them a boiling mess of inedible dried chili peppers. We had to ask the scowling waiter several times just to get some water at the table. When the food finally did arrive it was some of the worst food I've ever experienced. This was the first and last time we will ever go there. I feel that one star is too much to rate this place, but, it's the least I can do. If you are considering eating at this place, do yourself a favor and go some place else.. This place sucks.

Stopped in last night after the duck basketball game. The food was very good! I had the beef noodle soup with bamboo shoots. I drank the Thai tea which was pretty good as well. Check out my hashtag #jasonslunch on Instagram

This place seems to be popular with Chinese students from the university nearby. We ordered the beef noodle soup and we thought it was very tasty. However the customer service in this restaurant is non existent. We sat down but nobody told us you were supposed to order at the register first. At this place you order and pay at the register (they should have a sign that says ORDER HERE). I guess that's why the students we saw did not leave any tip. Other than that the food was good.

The worst experience I've ever had. Expect gruff service, 15% tip calculated automatically, plus a touch MSG. No water and plates served, and yes I have to ask for it. It ruined my Christmas at all.

We walked into Tasty Chong Qing around 9:15 last night, and - knowing that they closed at 9:30 but noticing that several tables were being served food - asked to order takeout. We ordered two dishes, Szechuan cold noodle and a vegetable noodle soup. When we returned to our BNB with a few styrofoam containers, we quickly realized that 1. The cold noodles were missing and 2. We were given the wrong soup. I called immediately and received an apology and a promise of a refund if I came by tomorrow (Saturday). Too bad Tasty Chong Qing is closed Saturday and Sunday (this was not mentioned on the phone). We ate the soup that we was given to us and it was the most flavorless dish I've ever had, a wan and watery broth that needed copious salt and pepper in order to taste anything at all.

I'm so thrilled with all the delicious Asian food options we now have in Eugene - this is the newest kid on the block and we were very pleased with our experience. We ordered a sampling of small plates (green onion pancake, dan dan noodles, chive and pork dumplings, fried spare ribs, spicy dumplings)...all delicious. They report dinnertime to be very busy. They accept reservations but don't be late - you'll lose your table.

Came here expecting to eat at Cafe Ariang. Obviously this is no longer that so I decided to try this new Chinese place. The place was jam packed full of people and it was a Chinese style of food I had never eaten before. I quickly jumped on Yelp to look and see if anyone else had reviewed this place. Luckily I found some Yelp reviews that gave me some great suggestions. This obviously is some of the most authentic Chinese food in town. The Szechuan red oil that they put in several dishes is absolutely tasty. I can't wait to come back and try out some of these random dishes I have never heard of.

The soup for the seafood and pork noodles is extremely salty and the portion is not worth it in my opinion. The noodles were decent and the pork was the star of the pork noodle. The seafood was okay, but the soup base for all the noodles are the same unless you get the spicey kind. I also ordered a $7 appetizer and there were only 4 wings in total. RIP OFF! All four of those wings were oozing with blood and still slightly raw. I told the waitress and she said she'll tell the cook and I told her to just cancel it. (We were the only people in the restaurant not eating the hot pot dinner and ordered wings). Then she says "okay"and I look back and see raw chicken still left uncooked on the counter, so they haven't even started to make the fried chicken. The waitress comes back and lies to my face saying that they've just placed the chicken in the deep fryer to cook, but I saw the same dude cooking our dinner chilling in the back, get up and place the chicken a few minutes after I requested to cancel the order. So they basically forced me to pay for something I didn't want any longer. Overall it was a bad first time experience!

What can I say, the meat tastes like rubber, the broth was flavorless, I felt so ripped off after eating my nasty flavorless broth filled with pieces of rubber. I could literally only eat two bites out of the entire soup I ordered. The place that used to be here, cafe ariring, will be sorely missed.
