They've got fresh hot coffee! The service is good and I like sitting in the window. I wish the parking was easier. I don't like having to park in the structure.

My latte was flat, which if I wanted a flat latte I'd go to Starbucks. Not to mention, the milk was steamed too long so it was too hot to drink, which is a no-no for lattes. Service was less than friendly. The cashier didn't seem to want to be there...I guess I can't blame her. The barista was nice, but couldn't make a drink to save her life. The poor soul before me got a latte made of screaming milk...those of you who know anything about steaming milk know what I'm talking about. They had free wifi, but it lagged because a lot of people where there studying and using it. Atmosphere is nice, but the tables are really small. I probably won't be back. I much prefer Vero to this place.

My boyfriend and I have been going to Perugino for a while now. The baristas are the ABSOLUTE BEST!!!! They are always kind, happy and efficient. I particularly am talking about Michelle and Bailey, although I've always had great service there, and always a friendly chat. I will definitely vote for them in the next "Best of" in the weekly. I forgot to mention that the coffees and the pastries are superbly done. We will continue to make this "our place " for a wonderful experience all around.

We just love this place when we visit Eugene. On our way to the coast for a week of Geocaching and kayaking. Today we had the kale and white bean soup and a cup of coffee. The soup was just amazing, totally homemade with lots of herbs. Just love it ;)

This is the only place I can really concentrate on homework. I get more done here in 2 hours than even at home or the library. But the only foods available are either bad for you pastries or bigger things like sandwiches and heavy soups, which are always delicious, just too much food sometimes. How about a hummus plate with some veggies?! It would be easier to snack on while I'm reading or typing away on my computer. I'd probably eat that everyday! I need my brain food :)

Nice ambiance. Ordered a mocha. Decent flavor, but weak. There are places where the drinks are sweet, and places where they're not sweet enough. This place falls into the latter category.

It has been a few years since I've experienced their horrible customer service and continues to be the worst service I've ever received, which is why I still feel like I need to share. You will be required to purchase something immediately or you will be asked to leave. During the 15 minutes I waited for friends to arrive, I was made fun of behind the counter, given terrible glares, and asked to leave because I wasn't ready to order. I knew this because I had acquaintances in the coffee shop see the manager mock me when I wasn't looking. She didn't know I had mutual friends already in the shop who would tell me about her behavior later. Quickly after I realized they were not worth any of my money or time, I walked to a different coffee shop down the street. Later in the evening I made a phone call to speak to the manager but found out the woman who treated me so poorly was the manager!! The manager yelled at me and hung up on me. It was so unbelievable! Stay away from here...

Amazing coffee, amazing atmosphere. Perfect for dates, meetings, or studying. Come here.

I think there is potential to be good but it's not that great. Got a pour over that took 15min to heat up the water which, by my opinion, is too long. Also the beans they used seemed to be slightly burnt an threw off the whole taste of the coffee for me..

I've been a couple of times. Either on my own because I had to duck in out of the rain, or with a group of friends. I found the service to be friendly, sometimes you have to be the one to strike a conversation. The food is pretty good, a bit pricey in my opinion, normally I just get a coffee. Lovely latte art, I think it's required that baristas can do it or they are taught. The atmosphere is a very peaceful, classical music is always playing, it has a great location. Right outside the Hult Center, it's an excellent place to sit, have a coffee and people watch.

The staff are friendly, the coffee is delicious, and this place makes Eugene bearable and even charming during the dreary winter months. Starbucks or any other chain coffee shop pales in comparison. My only wish is that they had more power outlets, as I am a grad student and practically live here on weekends. Sometimes there's a wait for an outlet.

We love the live music here, every first and third Friday of each month. Coffee and wine go well together, but if you are hungry, there is good food too. Come in and enjoy!

Lovely ambience, music, interior, and most importantly food & drinks. I like that they have a good selection of pastries and that they have daily soups/quiches(?) The baristas are really friendly too. One of the few cafes that open till the evening on Sundays (the only others I can think of are the Beanery and Wandering Goat.)

I like this place in general as a quiet place with good coffee. I am giving it a low mark because the last time I was in, the food I ordered had a side dish with fuzzy mold on it...unacceptable. How you can present that to a customer is beyond me.

Main Pros: - Quality of coffee - Selection - Outdoor seats Cons: - Parking - Limited hours

Live music every other Friday night by Percy and Jim is just delightful. We stumbled upon them playing a year ago when my then fiancé and I were driving through town from CA to Seattle, now we're planning on hopeful annual treks out just to listen to the duo. Perfect place for a romantic Friday night for two or a chill night with friends.

I'm currently sitting in Perugino with a pistachio-cranberry biscotti & a steaming mug of spicy house chai, pretending like it's not 95 degrees and rising outside. Having positioned myself directly underneath an air-conditioning vent, the whole setup is nicely reminiscent of autumn. Whenever a sweat breaks out on my forehead, I take a sip of ice-cold lemon water, let the heat pass, and recommence with my gustatory cookie dunking. The latte foam adds the perfect touch of spicy, creamy sweetness to my nut-and-fruit studded biscotti; I do not fault the fly that hovers dangerously near my afternoon tea, hoping I'll look away as it swoops in for a taste. I could do this forever-- the cookie dunking, the chai foam mustache, the overzealous slurping-- but looking down, I realize that I've already snarfed down the entire length of the cookie... which makes me sad... but also hopeful that some kind soul at Perugino will read this review & make the biscotti strips larger for extended dunking pleasure. Bottom Line: ... More cookie. Cookies are an anytime food.

The ambiance is different from anywhere else in Eugene: old-world with a bit of class. I've had my bosses request to meet here, in part because it's not grody and in part because it's pretty quiet. I generally don't drink coffee or espresso so I can't accurately comment about Perugino's handling of either. I occasionally get food but can't say I've been impressed by it... for example, panini are small (but tasty). Everything is expensive. Service is seldom with a smile. The register person usually stares at me, as though they have no idea why I am standing there staring at them. It also takes a while to get drinks. I ordered an iced tea after other people had ordered espresso drinks, and each and every espresso drink was made before I received my iced tea some ten minutes later. A little strange. Priorities seem to be a bit off - when I was a barista I was told to get the fast and easy things out of the way. Overall, not a terrible place to sit for a while. Just don't come on an empty stomach expecting to buy reasonably priced food.

Great place to have small meeting. Friends had sandwiches that they liked.

I used to love this place but my last visit wasn't so great. When I have been before its a nice place to meet up with someone and grab a hot cocoa or tea or coffee, good ambiance. My last visit was just a run in and grab a soy hot cocoa.. I asked for a small which I didn't realize was going to be extremely tiny..especially after I paid 3.50 for it... The size was too small to put a hot cup protector on it, so that kinda sucked but the barista gave me another cup so it would stop burning my hands. I've gone to starbucks and got the same thing but a bigger size for the same price. Since Starbucks has a drive thru and is cheaper and their hot cocoa with soy is really good.. I would opt to go there rather than here where parking sucks and its overpriced.

Vincent van Gough's hangout in Eugene. It's basically a classy, artsy establishment to enjoy your wine, coffee and tea fix. It's not your cozy Northwest coffee shop...More of a modern, avante garde type of place. Great if you're diggin' this kind of atmosphere. Negatives: street parking is a pain in the....

This is one of my favorite places to go to meet with clients. The environment is very comfortable, "classy," and accommodating. Beautifully decorated. Happy hour wine for $3 a glass and a variety of goodies to eat. There is a big conference/meeting table at back that is perfect for really spreading our some work or enjoying a bottle of wine with a group. (wish they had stella on tap) Free Wi-Fi!

  • Ava C.

They have great latte. The vegetable quiche is very delicious. The tea, however, is a bit heavy. The inferior environment is really nice. The light, painting, and seat setting just make me feel calm. It's a good place to do my own work or have a little chat with my friends. One little thing is that there is usually one person serving at morning. So the waiting is pretty long. Other than that, everything is good.

One of the best independent coffee shops in town!! The barristers are friendly and very helpful. The coffee is great and the food is awesome! I often have the quiche and I could easily eat more than one slice as it is fantastic! Great place to chill and meet friends :)

Fantastic lunch spot. Delicious and soup and salad, great ambiance with Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin singing background music. Love it!

A fantastic atmosphere and great space. The cafe is tastefully decorated with soft calming lighting. A great place for a professional meeting or casual coffee. There are a few tables tucked into the nooks by the window which are my favorite spot to camp out and get some work done. It's my boyfriend and my go-to spot! Coffee is pretty good. Favorite is the chai latte. Decent chai is hard to find, and Periguno's does a knock up job. Their snacks and quiche are also tasty. One draw back (and why I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars) is the service can be a tad slow. Mostly when there's only one barista and a full cafe. Understandable, but you'd think they'd have a better idea of their busy times and appropriately schedule staff. There's also wine served here, but I haven't tried anything yet.

I moved to Yewjean for graduate school, and made haste to find a good coffee shop in town. Having just come from the land of milk and honey that is the greater Portland area, and then Corvallis, I expected to find a similar array of independent coffee shops with free wi-fi and ample study space. Boy was I surprised to find the large number of chain stores (*bucks!), and noisy, uncomfortable-chair-loving cafe stands. Enter Perugino. Although certainly not a lunch spot (go down the hall to the Park Street Cafe for that), Perugino's gets the win in my book for having created a wonderful, quiet, comfortable space for college students to study, business suits to negotiate, and our local ruffians to ... do whatever it is they do. Also, the coffee is great. Perugino's gets a bonus point for being a wonderful, under-the-radar spot for a casual get-together. I have now reserved "those big tables in the back" to celebrate a handful of successful dissertation defenses, and a recent business acquisition. The hors d'Å“uvres have been really special, and they have a decent selection of champagne, too. However, 'gino's promptly loses said point for no longer offering gelato AND for telling me that the closest place to get it is the Price Chopper (aka Market of Choice) on 29th and Willamette. What about Lucky Noodle? Boo.

Great pastries, nice coffee, and I enjoy the Caprese. I've used a few Groupons for this place lately, and I was happy with what I got and the price I paid for it. Service can be a little slow, but nothing terrible. Fresh food selection is limited and doesn't seem to change. Yet despite my reasonable satisfaction with the food, I'm still somewhere between a 3 and a 4 star review. Something about this place just doesn't draw me in. This is never a place I think about for studying (don't think they have WiFi either?). I can't quite put my finger on it, but I feel like it ought to be more inviting, comfortable. Oh well, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt at 4 stars. Certainly worth trying if you've never been.

I found a slug crawling on my salad plate (after I had consumed most of it). I then discretely went to the server and handed her my plate with the crawling slug, only to have her come back to me to say, "these things happen from time to time" They never offered me my money back on anything not even the yucky salad w/ extra living protein. I had to go to them and demand they give me at least the 3 dollars back for the side salad. Needless to say, it was a terrible experience, but worse of all, the horrible unprofessional way that it was dealt with disgusted me just as much as the slug. I won't be eating there ever again, because I don't trust them now, and I don't even think I will bother getting coffee or wine there (although I trust that) just because the service was so bad. Food was merely ok. Nothing great. Ambiance is pleasant, but if you go there, I would stick to wine or coffee, not the fresh salads... they may be fresher than you expect, and apparently according to their server, this happens from time to time. So they don't seem all that phased by it at all.

Cool coffee house - great unique setting. I love the atmosphere here. Coffee drinks in huge mugs just like the coffee house in the "Friends" TV show. In downtown near Hult Center and all the other other downtown nightlife. If you are looking for something other than Starbucks - this is a good bet.

This place has a great atmosphere. It has a very relaxed feel and a classy ambiance. I enjoy coming here with friends or even by myself to get some work done on my laptop. I never feel rushed by the staff, and even after being there for a while, the staff is just as friendly as when I walked in. I always feel welcome at Peruginos. They always go out of their way to accommodate their customers Their Chai Latte's are the best I have ever had! I honestly crave them all the time! Their pastries are all delicious as well. Every time I stop in, I order a different dessert, and I have never been disappointed! Seriously, the food here is REALLY good! I would recommend this place to everyone!

Peruginos is my peaceful refuge in the middle of a crazy workday. Really great coffee, nice staff, delicious paninis- a very relaxing place. I work a block away, have been returning there for years.

  • Gypsy B.

I really love the atmosphere of this place, which is why I forgave the leathery chocolate croissant (perhaps the baker was having an offday and took it out on the dough - because I could tell it was homemade, having been a former croissant maker). At any rate, the music, the staff, the airy feeling in this brick and art-lined building was the perfect spot to concentrate on homework. You don't feel like you're packed in like sardines. Also they have a couple big tables for people to spread out and actually meet other like minded individuals. The cappucino was ok - I liked the flavor of the espresso but it was more like a mini latte with barely a hint of foam (perhaps a barista in training, since I noticed one helping the other). Overall, very friendly staff though, and decent coffee. I will be back, perhaps for a glass of wine and a panini!

When I couldn't get work done, this is where I went. Perugino is at the top of the cafe experience in Eugene, and there are a couple of really nice twists that you don't find elsewhere. 1) Wine and a selection that is intelligent and not static. 2) Gelato. Delicious stuff and made like it should be. Free Wi-Fi is a plus, and it's got enough bandwidth that the place can be full and you're not stuck waiting for five minutes for a page to load. Structurally, they could use a few more outlets, but people are generally pretty friendly with each other when needing to share space or move a little to allow you access to what's there. The drinks are top notch, and the barristas know what they're doing. The coffee is solid, delicious and consistent. The pastries are a little too spendy for me, but they look delicious. Same with the food in general. Basically, I never ate there because I didn't think it was worth it to me. Everything else is worth it though, big time. The best part? It's far enough from campus and isolated enough that the people who are there really want to be there and didn't just stumble in or follow the trend. It's one of the places in Eugene where I felt like I wasn't in Eugene, and while I love Eugene for what it is...it's nice to get out and remember the rest of the world from time to time.

Given that it's winter break for students and the sunday before new year's, i wouldn't expect any coffee shops to be particularly crowded, so I don't know if my experience today was typical of a visit to Perugino's. That being said, dear god i hope it is! if i had to pick one word to describe my experience, it was just nice. like other reviewers have noted, the architecture and decor are beautiful. i found the barista to be friendly and helpful when i had questions - she wasn't super perky, but given the calm, quiet, and classy ambience of the place i wouldn't expect her to be. my one complaint with perugino is one that has been noted by other reviewers as well - they definitely take their sweet time getting your coffee to you. so if you're in a rush i would definitely go elsewhere! that being said, the latte i ordered was pretty good - i wouldn't say its the best i've ever had, but not terrible. the cinnamon roll on the other hand, was to die for! after 5 awkward minutes waiting at the counter for my drink, i settled in with a book for a couple of very calm hours. there were only about 5 other people in the shop and with classical music playing i was able to tune out and get some work done - which given my tendency to people watch and eavesdrop is pretty good. again i don't know if the crowd there today was typical, but if it is, then this is a really good, off the beaten path if you're trying to get away from students kind of place. didn't check out the wifi/electrical outlet availability, but a great spot to get some reading/editing/grading done for sure.

  • Benjamin S.

You won't beat it. Here is why: 1.) The architecture gives this particular coffee house an absolute step-above advantage on all other coffee shops in the Willamette Valley. 2.) Despite prior reviews, the barista's are not only beautiful, but well-trained and equipped to do their job better than the Green Greek Goddesses at the corporate shop down the street. 3.) Live Celtic Music. Great wine. Amazing sandwiches. Beautiful scenery. Great management. TRY IT OUT!!!!

  • Peter H.

One of the best cups of coffee/latte/mocha in town. Ambiance is top notch, and they have some AMAZING pastries. What more do you need? Free Wifi? Check. Would get five stars, but it's usually really busy, and I hate waiting for a place to sit. ha!

  • Max S.

OK coffee in small cups. Good baked stuff, but they're from elsewhere. "Where do you get your coffee?" I asked the friendly barista. "Um, Cafe Zoka." "From Seattle?" I ask, a bit incredulous that with many really excellent local roasters, this place chooses coffee from Seattle. I'm used to Portland snobbishness (esp here on Yelp!) but this takes it a step further. As others have said, a nice place to look at and hang out in while using wifi, or if you're with someone and you want to actually be able to talk to each other. And as others have said, the sandwiches and such are good, but a little overpriced, especially since it's not Portland. Or Seattle.

Italian coffee. Nice place to chill. as about as urban feeling you find in Eugene.

    (5)
  • Marshelle B.

Overpriced, over hyped. Coffee and is better at the Park Street restaurant behind it. With the exception of the blonde guy in the morning, rest of the wait staff has too much attitude. Potatoe knisch? Forget it. Bland. I ordered a bagel today, to go and they fixed it up very nice on a plate with garnish. When I told her it was to go, she go pissed put the plate down, picked up the bagel and stuffed it in a bag with creamcheese and said nothing while she handed it to me, leaving the plate with the garnish in plain site. Obviously punishing me for not saying it was to go. BUT I DID. Her coworker didn't write it down. Guess the life of a Barista is so frustratingly complicated I'll never understand their suffering.

Coffee and Wine bar? Yes, please! Your staff has been incredibly helpful every time I've gone in on my little adventure roadtrip, and for that I am grateful. Also grateful for wonderful homemade sorbettos and gelatos, as well as yummy coffee and the best smelling paninis and salads. You tempted me to eat wheat and damn the consequences. I cannot say how helpful and wonderful the baristas were ("hey, so where's the best sushi/thai/beer/blah blah blah?"... and they had all the answers and were RIGHT). XO, you rock!

First of all, I have to admit that I've only been here for coffee and pastries/dessert (four or five times.) This place has the best coffee in Eugene and I have to say the tiramisu is the best I've ever had in the U.S., and can compete with the best in Italy. What I like best about his place is the clientele. This place draws interesting, thoughtful, well-spoken people. I've never had an experience where another customer seemed rude or obnoxious. The staff all seem to be polite and well-informed, adding to the warm ambience.

I like this place! My mocha and bagel were yummy (although, as my sister would say, boo! to the single Philly cream cheese packet). It's pretty inside -- spacious feeling, art on the walls. Free wireless! And in the evenings, it's also a wine bar.

This is my kind of place!... the closest thing to a European experience I've yet come across in Eugene. Excellent cafe fare like quiche, panini, bruschetta, and a passionate borsht that insists on appreciation from each one of the senses! A beautiful place to gather with a group, or to pensively ponder the world over a hot cup of tea or espresso cozied into your own small corner... Framed in a rustic architecture updated to the modern metropolitan experience, and staffed by a friendly and clever clan of baristas. This place has it all! As I sit here typing my review over Perugino's free Wi Fi connection, gentle and friendly conversations dance through the air over a musical backdrop that isn't afraid to be interesting. There's a group nearby that has gathered to learn Italian, and when people arrive at the espresso bar to collect their orders simultaneously, strangers inevitably share a friendly exchange. Every element harmonizes into warmth, comfort, and a peaceful enthusiasm here. An easy five stars if only there was an equally vibrant veranda to add some sunshine to the mix... but the indoor experience is almost perfect!

I've become unsure of my own opinions in my old age. As I sit aboard the commuter train, Vitamin Water and bran muffin in hand, I contemplate the venue at which I purchased said muffin, and my pending country club membership on my 55th birthday. Perugino has a "nice" ambiance. It's not "bad". It's not too "pricey". It's the kind of place where people that use extraneous quotation marks "go". On numerous occasions I have popped in to use their wireless (especially when it means going here or an Allann Bros. establishment, icky poo), and sometime I've had a beer with Tatiana M., or indulged in a fiber-rich oldmansnackâ„¢ (read: previous muffin mention). But nothing has really ever made me just "need" to "go" "here". I pass by it every time I walk to the train station. And, being a Portland weekender for the past year, that's quite often. But I've only stopped in two times. One to get an iced coffee ("bitter"), and today, when I got a muffin to ward off the chill of what I'm sure will become Freezedeathâ„¢ 2010 if the "news" stations have anything to say about "it". Oftentimes the service is just "so-so" and the coffee "is" OK. And sometimes the coffee is real bad and the staff are "rude". And sometimes they are "jolly" and I get a beer instead of a coffee. But back to my previous "point". I'm unsure. I don't know if I just don't "get it" or if there "isn't" anything to "get". A "50/50". "Non-Committal". Stop in if you want "an" alright pastry and some coffee to get "you" by. Or if you need to study/work and don't mind the "chattering" of "people" who "throw up" "air quotes" at all "times" to "emphasize" their conversation.

"Where the F is the gelato?" Sorry, Perugino, you lost me the day the 'noisy' gelato machine walked out the door. I like wine, and I like coffee, but I don't like paying so damn much for them, especially when they're served with a scowl. Here it's primarily the male baristas who seem to have the attitude. Never had a problem with the ladies. Plus, the ladies are nearly universally hot, so there's that...

Love this place! Not only does the coffee rock - hot, strong, organic - but the food is awesome too. The quiche is delicious, smooth, and creamy. The knish and breakfast rolls are excellent as well. Definitely a great destination in the heart of Eugene.

  • Heidi N.

I've had two coffees here. The first time, it was delicious. (I believe it was a mocha, no problem with the verbiage there.) The ambiance was great, the barista girls are always classically beautiful, (not your boobs out, super-tanned dutch bro's girls looking for tips) and they have awesome, secluded window seating. The second time I had a coffee there I asked for a borgia. They didn't have oranges, but she said she could make me a mocha with orange flavor. She must have forgotten the orange, because I ended up with just a mocha. (And it had been to go, so no chance of righting it.) Not a bad experience though, the mocha was still good.

  • Nico W.

Yes, it has a nice atmosphere. It feels like a proper cosmopolitan cafe, they have a nice wine selection and a good set of different seating options for groups/couples/individual/laptops. BUT... and this kills this place for me... I have NEVER had a properly pulled espresso here. Not once. It has always been bitter and with very little, if any crema. To the point of undrinkability. I've returned almost every espresso I've gotten here. Now if you drink latte's or mocha's or whatnot you may not notice, but a straight shot or macchiato is a disaster here. It's fine that the Philip Johnson glasses wearing owner only hires cute girls who look good in black shirts and skirts, but please give them some proper espresso training!

It's all relative and this place is a saving grace for the options in Eugene, read nil. All the coffee shops here close at like 2 in the afternoon which is not helpful when you need a place to study or read. I like this place because its great for settling in to study. They have coffee drinks and wine, bakery treats and salads and sandwiches. So once I get settled in to study at their huge table in the back, I can start with coffee and then have a glass of wine. It's great. Cozy brick interior, AWESOME music selection always, great coffee, decent prices, good cookies, good salads. All in all, a good option when you just cannot bring yourself to head back to the library again.

I am new to Eugene and I am wanting to support the local businesses.....Starbucks does not need my business. My first visit here was in Feb....The attitude of the young lady behind the counter was disgusting.....She couldnt careless if the customers were satisfied...Very snooty!!!! I went back 5 months later (July 2011)...Thought I would give it another try...This time a different young lady but the same snooty disgusting attitude as the other(Feb 2011)...I dont know if the owner is difficult to work for and the employees pass that frustation to the customers but I will not return....Thank you

If you are searching for a place to enjoy a great cup of coffee and some lovely art, this is your spot. The food can sometimes be questionable, as servers change a bit more often than other places that I frequent. However, that being said, the consistency of the coffee seems to be right on no matter whom is behind the counter. I am giving them 4 stars as the art changes often enough and it is enjoyable to gaze upon while sipping a great latte.

Perugino's has quite a few good things going for it: 1) Nice building. I mean high ceilings and exposed brick with a long axial layout downtown? This is what you look for in coffee shop decor. I think the interiors deptartment at the UO architecture takes a tour of this place every year. 2) Mitch is slanging some of the best gelato you are going to find. He is all about the flavors and doesn't hesitate to go over the top decadence. 3) Free wi-fi is a must in the modern slacker, hipster cafe. I admit to partaking in said freebie more than once here. 4) Nice selection of wines on glass pour just in case caffeine ain't your kick at the end of the night. By the glass is cheap but they do offer bottles as well. No matter how you slice it, Perugino is a good stop for lounging and sipping.

I would give it zero stars if I could. I stopped in here on a quick trip to Eugene with three colleagues to get a cup of coffee to go. They put our orders up on the bar - in "for here" cups even though we wanted to "to go" - and some of the drinks had post it notes on them with drink descriptions. We weren't sure if the drinks were ours because of the "for here" cup situation AND the fact that the drink descriptions didn't quite match up to what we ordered. SO, we asked a man behind the counter what kind of drinks they were. In the most PRETENTIOUS tone I've ever heard, he READ to us the drink descriptions (word for word!) that were on the post it notes - right in front of us. Like we couldn't read them. It was so fuc*** RUDE!!!!!!! So, none of the drinks he read off sounded like ours, but he assured us they were and they he had actually written the correct names for "mocha" and "latte" (ummm, hey d-bag, you could probably just write mocha since mocha is what my pal ordered, but if you want to snob it up and call it something else and then make me feel like sh** for not knowing you're secret code name for it - then whatever). As for my peppermint-soy-latte, there was no drink labeled as such. There was however an iced drink up on the bar, so I asked what it was. He responded to my questions by asking what I ordered - again in the SNOBBIEST tone I have ever heard - and telling me "well, then that what's this is" he said, as he pointed to the drink. I gave him my best "sorry dude, just checkin" voice and said: "I just wanted to make sure that this is the correct drink since I have a milk allergy" and he gave a HUGE SIGH like it was a major pain to go check with the barista to see if it was soy. OH MY GOD it was probably the WORST service I've ever had. I came very close to leaving my drink and walking out. Horrible and I'm NEVER going back.

Hassle free wi-fi connection, amazing coffee. Tried the chai and it was also amazing! Super yummy food, too, but too spendy imo. I always meet clients at Perugino...I don't think I've ever been just for me, but I keep saying I will go back for that reason. :) They have wine and such, also. Chocolates abound. All in all, this is one of my favorite coffee stops in the city.

Only been here once. I got a mocha and a marionberry muffin. The muffin is the same as you would get at Eugene coffee co. those kinds that are so overloaded they spill over top of their muffin cup... Pretty decent muffin. The mocha was just okay. The atmosphere was nice, the customer service was mediocre. Might be back to give it another shot!

Right to the point... They don't have gelato anymore! Don't be like me and walk across town from the "line out the door" Sweet Life in heels hoping for gelato. They supposedly got rid of the gelato machine because it was too noisy. The barista was pretty nice about explaining the situation and even admitted that the chocolate cake in the bakery case was from Costco. Hmmm... There were also signs saying "new lower prices". This place is really pretty and once upon a time, had a nice night scene. I've been here for wine, live music, dessert (not from Costco), and sniff-sniff, gelato. I hope Perugino makes it through the recession! Things weren't so promising on this particular Saturday night. I'm rooting for you though! (fyi, we went to Market of Choice for some nice gelato after all this!)

This place is way over priced, granted they definitely have the high end restaurants catering the food but it's ridiculous. The staff don't look you in the eye or seem to want to be there. And if there are less than 4 people in the restaurant why can't the staff walk the 6 steps to my table to give me my coffee. When they announce your order is ready you can barely hear them or tell what they are saying. There is just a total lack of customer service.

Love this coffee shop! They have true Italian style espresso drinks and their baristas make a great cup. My only criticism is that their only non-dairy option is soy milk. As I'm currently nursing my 3 month old son, who is allergic to both dairy and soy, I can't order anything other than black coffee. Hence, I havent been there in months. I can't wait to be able to order a cappuccino or cafe con panna again!

I really enjoyed the raspberry chocolate cheesecake. The coffee was really good too. I did not enjoy drinking it out of a paper cup however. I clearly stated that my order was "for here" so I don't understand why I didn't get my coffee in a ceramic cup. I would give it 5 stars if the service was a little better and I didn't feel so out of place. The atmosphere is a little too sterile for my tastes.

Love, love, love this place. I personally love the window seats and the ability to view the world walking by with a great latte. The ambiance is inviting and very homey. Coffee has a nice deep taste that soothes the soul. One recommendation I would make is to get real coffee cups for the larger lattes and coffees. Isn't quite the same drinking coffee out of a large glass. There are some really cool ones to be had. Would definitely recommend this place for a nice break from your day. Great place to study uninterrupted as well. Haven't tried the wine tasting yet. Although the paninis are good

After six years in Eugene I'd yet to try Perugino, which is surprising since it's not far from my office. I came here for lunch a few weeks ago and had a delicious insalata caprese. It seemed a bit pricey, but the ambiance was good and the service pleasant. Good people-watching, too.

There are a bajillion reasons to love this place, but there are only three motivating me to give it five stars: The most incredible cocount cake I've ever eaten (and damn fine baklava, too), the Sakura cherry-infused japanese green tea, and freaking Celtic jam night. Have you ever been anywhere that has a music jam circle specifically for Celtic jamming? It's crazy. And basically affordable despite the ultra-high caliber of product they serve. It's just a little bit yuppie on occassion... stick to weekdays and I don't have to think about withholding the fifth star.

The carrot cake there is AMAZING! The icing was a perfect blend of sweetness and cream cheese, and tasted more like an actual cheesecake than an icing. The rugs and art on the walls looked nice, as well. Their specialty coffee recipes and gelato looked good too!

I think there is potential to be good but it's not that great. Got a pour over that took 15min to heat up the water which, by my opinion, is too long. Also the beans they used seemed to be slightly burnt an threw off the whole taste of the coffee for me..

This is one of my favorite places to go to meet with clients. The environment is very comfortable, "classy," and accommodating. Beautifully decorated. Happy hour wine for $3 a glass and a variety of goodies to eat.

  • Killer S.

Or Seattle.

This is the only coffee that rivals Stumptown in Portland. They make a great latte and their pastries are excellent. Also, good atmosphere and pleasant baristas. Parking can be limited since it is downtown.

Lovely ambience, music, interior, and most importantly food & drinks. I like that they have a good selection of pastries and that they have daily soups/quiches(?) I like this place in general as a quiet place with good coffee. I am giving it a low mark because the last time I was in, the food I ordered had a side dish with fuzzy mold on it...unacceptable. How you can present that to a customer is beyond me.

When they announce your order is ready you can barely hear them or tell what they are saying. There is just a total lack of customer service.

A coffee place for coffee lovers, though staff is too nice to remove the wandering homeless non-customers who use this place as a free wi-fi spot all day.

One of the best cups of coffee/latte/mocha in town. Ambiance is top notch, and they have some AMAZING pastries. What more do you need? Free Wifi? Check. Would get five stars, but it's usually really busy, and I hate waiting for a place to sit. ha!

Or Seattle.

I don't know, I don't know, and this is a place i used to get my coffee daily when I was the Chef at Misako. " Ya see" this is my dilemma I drink coffee plain ol-Joe hell I even owned a cafe once, but 2 dollars for a 16 oz coffee from a warmer pot that's sat for how long? Look next to booze coffee is the best markup around for a business so when ya try to give to me in the shorts without the benefit of foreplay or lubrication don't be snooty when I'm shocked. "I know " the Italian girl isn't at fault, (in fact shes a nice touch) I like my servers hot, but they do give off a sense of rude when they think your shock is poverty. "it's to bad really I used to like the place"

After six years in Eugene I'd yet to try Perugino, which is surprising since it's not far from my office. I came here for lunch a few weeks ago and had a delicious insalata caprese. It seemed a bit pricey, but the ambiance was good and the service pleasant. Good people-watching, too.

I totally had now idea this place existed, until my girlfriend brought me here after a beer festival recently. I instantly loved the decor, which reminded me of Portland coffee shops. It was something I really didn't expect in Eugene. I've had better coffee though, and that's why I gave it 3 stars.

This is the only coffee that rivals Stumptown in Portland. They make a great latte and their pastries are excellent. Also, good atmosphere and pleasant baristas. Parking can be limited since it is downtown.
