I am new to Oregon and I absolutely love this store. Sure it's a little more spendy but the quality of the products is well worth it. They have a wide variety of specialty items and a great beer section. Their deli section is awesome, so many different things to choose from. The wide variety of produce and the bulk section are probably my favorite parts of the store. Other reviewers had complaints of staff being rude, I did not encounter this at all. Oregon is lucky to have such a nice store. You really need to check it out!!

They seem to have everything. Including the most authentic, reasonably priced Spanish wine. Local and imported cheeses. Wandering goat coffee. Always a big selection of fresh produce. Organic everything. And nice and helpful staff. It's my go-to place :)

The choices in the bakery are all hard to resist. I found the "packaged", ready foods very pricey; salads etc. Nice place to shop for specialty items, but get your every day stuff at Safeway.

I've been getting their broiled chicken for a couple of years and its been great. It's been a while so I got 1 yesterday. Wow what a nasty, greasy ball of tasteless fat. I noticed the chickens looked smaller, the price $10.99. I don't know what they changed but that was the last broiler chicken I will ever buy from Market of Choice. What was great is now yuck! I threw the thing in the garbage. Safeway has a nice broiler chicken for $8.99 I think.

Really expensive store but everyone there is great. Love the clam chowder they make. Always find what I need and hubs loves the beer selection. Staff is really nice

I could not find the Gluten Free area. When I had to find someone to ask it took almost 5 minutes to get help from the bakery. Then they were so rude when I ask for gluten free goodies. One of them said fine..... There over here way in the back next to the wine, next to nothing else. The dates were all old and dust on all the packaging, no prices. It looked like a kid put all the stuff on the shelf. I will not stop by this store again. To bad because I have had great times at all the other Market Of Choice in town.

I'm basing this review primarily on the bakery. When discussing cake options with the bakery, I was told when I was ready to finalize the order, I could taste some of the options to make my determination on what I wanted. When I went to finalize my order, they didn't have anything available to taste. If it was a wedding, I would have been a bit more irritated, but it was a birthday, so I was a little more forgiving. I picked up the cake yesterday, and had high expectations. It didn't look exactly like the photo I had shown them, but I think the staff did a good job, especially since I wanted buttercream, not fondant as was used in the photo I had, and I was pleased with how it turned out. I don't care for frosting much, but I have some frosting lovers in my life. The buttercream tasted good, and they don't skimp on the butter. There was so much frosting, even the frosting lovers couldn't finish it. I think next time, I'll ask for half the frosting. The cake was delicious. Light, moist, flavorful. The mocha mousse filling was divine. I've had cakes from very upscale bakeries-Places where I couldn't get an 8 inch round cake for what I paid for this cake. And this cake was every bit as good as those fancy bakeries. Better than some in fact. Weddings, birthdays, other gatherings- definitely consider Market of Choice as your bakery. For the store in general- prices run a little high, but they have a great selection outside of the bakery too. I don't do all my shopping here, but will pick up special occasion treats, organic items, specialty coffees, or other items you can't get at every store.

Five stars for the pizza kitchen, which produces results nothing short of gourmet, and at low prices. Check out the menu online. Yum! The cheesy breadsticks with marinara for $5.99 are the delicious deal of the century; it's essentially a thick-crust, no sauce pizza with a TON of cheese. If you're getting your $5 cheese pizza at Little Caesar's around back, you are missing out on a gem. Five stars for the bakery, especially its cakes. This is our go-to place for birthdays. Cakes are better quality than anywhere else in town, even the fancy/expensive bakeries. Best white cake on the planet. Cookies, cupcakes, and scones are great too but priced too high to buy unless it's a special occasion. Five stars for the bulk food section, which has a fantastic selection at good prices and is THE place to go when you need a ton of organic oatmeal or a teaspoon of that oddball spice. Three stars for the rest of the store. Prices are on the high side, selection is not great, and the produce -- while I appreciate all the organic options -- can be subpar in quality.

Very helpful staff. Great produce. What am I saying everything in the store is great. The bakery is my soft spot, cakes that will make your knees weak. They did a cake for one of my son's first birthdays and WOW it was awesome tasted great looked great. I'm a picky girl and they made that cake look wonderful! And I got a great deal !

Im a fan of Market of Choice as far as convenience goes, but you pay for it. This place is a bit more spendy than Albertson's or Safeway. On the other hand, MOC has a kick ass beer selection. From local micros, to german imports. They dont have much for a "bitch beer" selection though...as in the mike's hard mangos etc...I know this because when I go down to pick a random beer, there's nothing I can get my wife that she likes. Perhaps a fruity cider next time? The bakery is insane....lots of breads and goodies...yet this is where I notice the high prices....here and the deli. They make some twice baked potatoes that from what I understand are DELICIOUS, but run about $6 a pop. DAAAAMN!! The pizza they serve up is DAMN GOOD PIZZA. I love MOC pizza. I am probably the FURTHEST thing from a Vegetarian. I love meat...meat loves me. BUT they have a vegetarian pizza that is Mushroom, Spinach and Gorgonzola. FREAKING AWESOME. It's a thin crust pizza and you can buy a single slice for about $3. I think it's $20 a large pie. They do make other pizzas, and all that i've tried have been really good. A big plus i do like about the place though is the produce is always great! They have conventional and organic produce. Nothing worse than picking up a tomato and finding that nasty bruised bottom with mold on it....*Cough*safeway*cough*.... Produce and pizza earns MOC the 4th star.

This review is for the bakery, which made the cake for our wedding. I've long thought Market of Choice has the best cakes in town. So when it came time to pick a bakery for our wedding, they were at the top of our list. I briefly reconsidered after learning they charge $100 for deliveries in city limits, but Sweet Life didn't return my call. So MOC it was. When I booked the consultation I selected four flavor combinations that my now-husband and I wanted to try. They were so delicious! We went through the design book and picked the design we liked best. The consultant told us to not worry about having the cake delivered; ours was only two tiers, and he said very few customers have ever had a problem transporting their cake themselves. That sold us. So we booked the cake--chocolate with chocolate cream cheese filling for the bottom tier, and white with mocha filling for the top tier. We picked up the cake the day before the wedding. It was absolutely gorgeous. It traveled quite easily to my in-laws' house (MOC provided us with a box), and we kept it in a fridge until just before the wedding started. It was a beautiful focal point at the reception, and it was SO delicious. Everyone was raving about the cake at the wedding, and my stepson had three huge slices that night. No one could believe the cake came from a grocery store, and while I may be biased, I do believe it's the best cake I've ever eaten at a wedding. Other than the excessively high delivery fee, I was extremely pleased with MOC for our wedding cake and would recommend them to anyone looking for a beautiful and delicious cake.

Although a bit pricier than other grocery stores in town, Market of Choice as THE best quality of food by far. Go the location on Willamete, it's the biggest one. Amazing deli section with salads, gelato, and hot-bar. There beer selection is one of the best around too. You can get beers from around the world at MoC. I love walking in and grabbing a bottle of Reisedorf Koelsch, a German beer made only in the city of Cologne.

This store has many options and mostly healthy ones, but the prices are wayyy high. There are definitely things I love which include: the fresh produce, always been good.. I love the Rhythm and Blooms section they have and of course the bakery. I got pumpkin chocolate chip cookies from this specific market of choice and they were to die for! I loooooooovvvee them. Of course when I asked for the recipe they wouldn't give it.. Which I get but also it was like really? They don't generally make them all the time besides around the holidays, unless you special order them. But I just want to go there and have them available to purchase, especially since last time my order got messed up. Another time I ordered the cookies they gave me absolutely crap cookies, so I had to return them and they said it was because the oven was broke. Another time I ordered them, they thought I ordered like 12 dozen or something? Which I def did not say, I said I wanted the pack of 12 mini cookies. They usually put them in a box of 4 huge ones or 12 mini ones and I wanted the mini ones. Oops on there part, but then I was able to come back to the store and buy more since they put them out to sell. Anyways enough about cookies! Geez! Sorry..but they are soooo damn good!

If you want to save money - you shop at Winco. If you want better quality at a better price and don't mind buying in bulk and have storage room in your house for a bunch of back-storage of stuff - you shop at CostCo. If you want really great quality but don't want 500 gallons of organic whatever-it-is all at once and you value what space you have in your pantry and cabinets - you shop at Market of Choice. Things do cost a little more, but if you can afford it, it's definitely worth it. Market of Choice is modeled after Whole Foods Market - but without the rigid food standards. At Whole Foods they aren't supposed to allow foods with certain things in them to be sold in the stores - things such as artificial colors, artificial flavors, etc. Since Market of Choice isn't restricted by such food standards - you can get your "whole foods" and your cheetos and coke, too! I'll end my review with my very favorite item that Market of Choice carries: Jasmine Pearl Tea. If you are a tea person - check these out! If you're not a tea person - check these out! They just might change your mind about tea. Try the House Blend Oolong, or the Earl Grey (even if you're not an Earl Grey fan - I wasn't until I tried this.) Even when I'm trying to save money and so I'm shopping at Winco that month - if I'm out of tea I'm buying some more Jasmine Pearl tea at Market of Choice! I just can't do the dinky bagged stuff anymore. If you ever have a stomachache or cold - try the Jasmine Pearl Feel Better tea or the mint one... I think it's called Mint Medley. So good.

Too expensive, except for some of the loss-leader sales items. On the plus side: a very nice ambiance for a grocery store, and if you can't find it at other grocery stores, Market of Choice will very likely have it.

It's hard to believe this store evolved from Price Chopper, which was a fairly run-of-the-mill grocery store. PC Market is my favorite grocery store, even if it's too expensive for me to do most of my shopping at. They have yummy Genesis juice, a nice wine selection and Roasted Garlic Boca Burgers, which (for some reason) are not easy to find.

I do a lot of shopping here, mostly out of convenience and because the quality/selection of the food is far superior to what you'll find at most supermarkets. I generally prefer some of the smaller markets in town, but they're a hike and MoC is good enough. The produce selection is good compared to what you'll find at Safeway and Albertsons, but it's not the best you can find in Eugene (go to Sundance or The Kiva). They have an expansive bulk foods section that includes a decent selection of spices along with honey/syrup/peanut butter/etc. The meat selection is, IMHO, less-than-stellar but it should meat your needs. They've got a great selection of wine/beer, bread, cheese, and coffee, which is probably where I spend the most of my money on there. And spend money is what you do shopping there- it's not cheap. I'd suggest you shop at the smaller markets I mentioned if you're mostly interested in quality produce are willing to sacrifice some selection (mostly processed foods) and *maybe* pay a little more.

This is a great store. It's pretty spendy but it's worth it for veggies and fruits - really beautiful selection. Walk fast past the bakery because their goods are to die for. We've had our birthday cakes from there for years - splendid, creative and ultra tasty. Most of the people who work at MoC are pleasant and polite. I've only had one surly checker over the span of several years so maybe she was having a bad day. Lots of cute cards and flowers if you need a decent gift but don't have a lot of time to shop. Nice selection of massage oils and aromatherapy stuff.

They never have the Sticky Toffee pudding in stock at any of their locations. Whats up MoC? First you get me addicted to it and then you stop buying it. Just great!

This is a wonderful Mecca of everything delicious! I recently moved here from Sacramento and was blown away by MOC! The hot food section in itself was mesmerizing, seems like it would be worth trying everything once (or five times...hello, crispy meat things on a skewer, lasagna, orzo pastas, and wienerschnitzel...)! The bakery area looked so yummy!! Also, it's cool they have lots of local things- fun to send home to my family in CA. Of course, it is quite expensive (only reason for 4 stars and not 5), but what specialty store isn't? I come here sometimes just to browse all of the neat items (read: "squeaky cheese", containers of duck fat, and sea salt with truffle flakes, anyone?). Highly recommend it, especially if you're new to Oregon!

Market of Choice has a wide array of choices both organic and conventional. A shopping trip here can be very cheap if you stick to fresh fruit and veg or very expensive if you go for the specialty meats and cheeses. I do all of my fruit and veg shopping here when my CSA isn't delivering. The bakery section is amazing and there is a wide variety of freshly prepared items. Sara at the deli counter is a riot and not to be missed.

So, i am giving this store one star because i feel it is gradually getting worse in terms of customer service (i'm in this store at least, the very least 4x a week). This is mainly the bakery section, in all the times i've been in for anything other than the need for baked goods i left feeling okay...but well...the bakery is in the store and it's ruining it for everyone else!!!! I normally wont say anything but when it gets to be a tad much i think i must, just must say something...for instance, this morning, at the bakery i was greeted by the crankiest girl ever!! i'm not sure what her deal was, i'm thinking if she was pmsing or it was too early for her, she should have stayed in the back, called in sick or something and let someone else "deal" with the customers...the way she was acting was so uncalled for...I will not go into details because, she is pathetic and the whole situation could have easily been avoided.it was really hard not to go "off" on her but well...i kept my head cool, paid for what i ordered (i should have just walked off) and went to Full City for the pastries...which were YUM!!! I have said it once, and i will say it again...the Market of Choice on Willakenzie is the BEST!! great bakery selection, great customer service, really all around people...Today was my cue, just drive to M of C on Willakenzie...and if i need eggs or something that bad, i guess i will go to this one, running in and out as fast as i can...Frankly it's not worth it... Well, there goes my two cents....

Oh yeah, baby. This is what I'm talkin about. Knowledgeable employees, diverse food options. Bakery section is amazing creative eye candy and as good to eat as it is to look at. Cheese section stands among the best in any city. If they don't carry it they will order it for you. Meat section competes with the best butchers anywhere. Just an amazing store. And not always the most expensive! OK the deli section is expensive but they cooked for you.

A fun place to shop! Delicious, fresh sandwiches and deli. Wide variety of conventional and organic foods and produce.

I don't get how this place gets such great reviews. Over priced and over hyped fad foods line the aisles of these stores. I can see the importance of shopping here if searching for a hard to find specialty item but would avoid every day shopping at all cost. The staff is no more friendly than anyone working at any other supermarket and I find at times they lack any sense of urgency. To be fair though the deli and wine/beer sections are great but thats about it in my opinion. Shop there if you must be keep the majority of your shopping list for an affordable market that is trying to save you money.

This store, like all MOC's is pricey, they don't try to hide that they are proud of their products. But, on the other hand, that pride is well deserved. They make every effort to provide gourmet items in all departments in addition to your standard grocery items. The deli, bakery, and cheese counter are top notch and everyone there is very knowledgeable.

One of three PC Markets in the greater Eugene area, the Green Acres Rd. location is a dream come true for those of us who've been waiting for a great grocery store. Natural, organic, and gourmet products abound here. Huge produce section. The prepared foods area has a coffee shop, full service deli, olive & antipasto bar, salad bar, dozens of prepared salads, entrees, and other hot and cold items, fresh-baked pizzas, panini, deli sandwiches, bakery with fresh pastries and breads, nice beer and wine and sodapop selection, a small but extremely attractive meat selection with fresh buffalo, lamb, poultry, beef, storemade sausages and more. Big city gourmet offerings in a small town grocery store. It's about time.

I do all of my grocery shopping here. I love their deli section, and I go in each day to get my daily Kombucha. They carry the locally made Kombucha, which I love supporting, as well as many other locally made products.
