Five guys on 7th is awesome! When they first opened service was crummy which was my major complaint about the place but they seem to have figured things out. I love the long list of free toppings. Quality of meat is better than most. Fries are cooked in peanut oil and are very good. My biggest problem is the cheap American cheese which seems a shame when everything else is good quality. Good burgers quickly, solid 4 stars from me.

In N Out is my favorite burger place. Five Guys is a very close second. Awesome burgers, great bacon, crispy french fries and always friendly staff. To give the place a low rating because they wrap your burger in foil and then put it in a paper bag is laughable. If you are someone who is that concerned with "waste" then it's probably best you stay home and cook all your meals from scratch. Five Guys makes great burgers. I don't understand all the hate directed towards them in these other reviews.

This was our first time at Five Guys. It was nice that you get to pick your own toppings for your burger. It reminded me of In and Out where there are only a few things to pick from on the menu. The hamburger was really good. The fries were good too but word of advice, just get the small. If you order a small fry you get a cup of fries and then extras at the bottom of the paper bag. My husband ordered a regular size fry and it literally filled half a paper bag. We ended up throwing away a ton of fries. I would recommend ordering a regular size fries if you are sharing with about 2-3 other people. All in all I would definitely go back.

Dear Five Guys, This letter is to announce my official boycott of your establishment; at least at this location. I am from the east coast and have been familiar with Five Guys for over 6 years, and was ecstatic when I discovered that Five Guys was opening locations in the Eugene/ Springfield area. The convenience of having a Five Guys right on 7th in Eugene made me giddy, until the following occurred: Trip 1: I brought a friend a burger from Five Guys to campus during their lunch break. While eating their burger they commented on how the bacon was amazing and really standing out, because YOU FORGOT THE BURGER. Trip 2: You forgot to put the bacon on the BACON CHEESEBURGER. Trip 3: My burgers were made correctly with no complaints. I did request for my food to be made correctly, letting ya'll know that my order was messed up in the past. Trip 4: You forgot the bacon on my bacon cheeseburger, and left the pickles and mayo on when i requested for them to be left off. 3 of the 4 times I have been to Five Guys Burgers and Fries have left me disappointed. The whole purpose of your establishment is to serve burgers, right? Well YOU FORGOT THE BURGER!!!! 75% FAIL RATE!

Awesome fries! Unfortunately I don't really enjoy burgers unless they've got at least a little color inside them, and Five Guys doesn't do that...a lot of places won't do that, but I'll stick to the ones that do when I'm already gonna eat unhealthy.

Have been wanting to try this place out for awhile and finally did....I wasn't disappointed. I got the small cheeseburger and it was VERY filling. Love that you can get whatever toppings you want-I really liked the fresh jalapenos and will ask for extra next time I go. The fries were SO GOOD!!! My daughter and I shared a small fry and still had left overs. It's not In & Out Burger but for Eugene in will do.

Ate here once and that was all it took, I now crave it! The bacon cheeseburger (fully customized with lots of options) is just AMAZING and huge. Worth the price. The large fries should be called 'sharing' size because the fill the little cup to the brim and then pour in another small size onto the top of it in the bag. I also tried a bacon cheese dog, WOW, I'll never eat a hot dog without bacon again.

DO NOT ORDER ON THE PHONE!!! They forgot more than two ingredients on each burgers we ordered and one wrong ingredients. And no fries came with it. At least other fast food restaurants give you the right stuff when you order something. Ruined our fun relaxing evening.

Every time I go there it's a wonderful experience. It has a down home feeling and only a stuck up snob would say it's filthy because it's not. Not only are the burgers proficiently prepared and flavor outstanding but they have a wide selection of toppings to add to your burger. The staff is always very friendly and eager to serve you. Other burger joints can only dream about being this good.

I really do not see or taste what all the hype is about 5 Guys Burgers. It looked and tasted just like a burger I would get at a little country place or at the fair etc. Don't get me wrong it was good but nothing special. Fries where Bad. Soft no crisp. The two stars comes from nothing impressive just same old burger not saying the taste was not good that I would give a 3. Fries where a 1...

If you're missing In-N-Out, . . . then you found it in Five Guys!! Flawlessly clean establishment with outgoing employees. Everybody was busy helping customers, working the grill, & or the counter. The menu like In-N-Out, small & simple. Many extra add-ons to compliment the naughtiest of burgers. The ingredients were extremely fresh & full of flavor. It was SO reminiscent of In-N-Out!! It'll make you feel like a traitor ;) The only thing that's a bummer is the COST!! $21.00 for 2 burgers & 2 fries. That didn't even include the drinks. OUCH!! Unfortunately unlike In-N-Out, we will not be returning weekly. $$$ Being perfectly honest, my waistline will appreciate it :D We will return when the cravings exceed the will to not spend our hard earned cash on fast food. Thanks for the delicious food & nostalgia Five Guys.

This place is obviously trying to supplant In n Out, but falls woefully short- The Burgers are about the same size but cost about 40% more, the food was cold and there were not enough toppings to make it taste good. The fries are better than average but horribly overpriced and kind of greasy. I would not waste your time, you can bet better bigger burgers are Red Robin and bottomless frys.

For fast food hamburgers it's the place to go. I wish they had ranch and milk shakes but it's absolutely the best fast food hamburger you will eat. The ingredients are pretty good and the price isn't too expensive. Bright atmosphere with standard table seats.

I think this is probably the dirtiest and worst 5 guys I have been to! I even felt sick after eating here! Get it together guys!

Fries were good, burger was not I have eaten at other five guys before and they were better, try fins in Springfield or somewhere else, also it's not really worth $12 for the quality. They also put the wrong toppings on my burger :(

Average burger. Average fries. (They gave me about a 10 pounds of them) We were here for work last year and it was nothing special. I prefer In N out.

Ok, maybe it's not quite five stars, but it IS my favorite burger joint in Eugene. And I really like a burger - like some people like chocolate. For me, burgers are a pleasant guilty pleasure. These have ALL the toppings (for me, toppings make the burger), and come fresh and hot right off the grill. Fries are all you need to go with it, and these fries are nearly perfect. Local, from named farms, extremely fresh, cooked just right and served straight from the fryer. Glad Five Guys are here.

It's no In 'N Out, but for Eugene, it'll do. Kind of a cool concept. It's essentially a make your own burger. It's a big ol patty and I had pretty much everything on it, so it was a little messy and didn't hold up well. But the guy at the counter was chill and explained how it worked. I almost asked if there was a secret menu, but I held back.

Today, Jerome and I visited one of our favorite fast food restaurants: Five Guys. Five Guys is where we go when Jerome's mother isn't around. She likes Five Guys too, but she doesn't share the same love we have for it. For this trip, we were joined by our friend Danielle (aka, "Speedy Peaches"). Danielle skates for the Emerald City Junior Gems' Reservoir Dolls, a team featuring Eugene, Oregon's best junior roller derby players. Danielle had never been to Five Guys before, but she was familiar with cheeseburgers and fries. First, a little history: Five Guys was founded in 1986 in Alexandria County, Virginia by Jerry Murrell. It got its name from the number of males in the Murrell household: Jerry + his four sons = five = Five Guys. In Five Guys' first fifteen years, they only expanded to five locations, all in the District of Columbia metropolitan area. Then, it exploded. Currently, there are over 1000 Five Guys locations in the US and Canada. In 2010 and 2011, it was the fastest growing chain in the world. On average, five new Five Guys open every week. Basically, Five Guys is the Genghis Khan of restaurant chains. More: jeromeandjames.blogspot.…

My boyfriend and I go here about once a week, the staff know our names and order and always give us EXTRA EXTRA fries. The staff is super friendly and makes you feel at home, even during the rush hours! Glad to call this one of my favorite places to eat. Always get the grilled cheese with everything on it and cajun fries, They're sooo good!

I really wanted to love 5-guys burgers every time I've been to one, ever since my friend on the East Coast first told me about the chain and I heard they had finally opened up shop out west, and especially after watching Daym Drops do his review on youtube. But every time I go, I end up feeling like the burger just wasn't really all that. The last time I went, I got cajun fries and the standard double bacon cheeseburger with pickles, mustard, and....I forget what else. Anyway, I'll say that I LOVE their fries, both regular and cajun. Once your burger's in the bag, they pretty much fill the rest of the space with fries, and I think they just toss a cup in there for show. The burger is a decent size, and while you're really the only one responsible for how the burger tastes when you have your choice of seasonings (as long as they do their part and cook the damn thing) there is something missing that I've finally been able to isolate over the few years that I've had them: There doesn't seem to be any seasoning of the meat itself. That's really what it comes down to for me. Even though the ingredients are entirely up to me, it seems like no matter what combination I choose, excessive or minimal, the patty itself is kind of bland, which essentially makes the rest of the burger bland. I don't know, maybe it could be offset if some of the other additions were increased, like extra bacon or something, but this is essentially what broke the mystique of 5 Guys for me. Make no mistake, I'll take one of their burgers any day over your typical fast food chain, but in this day and age, that doesn't necessarily say all that much. They're decent, but I'm more into their fries than their burgers.

I can sum this up really easy for you: Great marketing + Crappy hamburgers = crappy food The hamburgers are marginal at best. The French fries are decent. The only possible reason anyone could like this place is because they give you all the toppings for free. The atmosphere has a "similar" red and white feeling as IN n OUT. Kinda sad they couldn't come up with an original idea. I still say IN n OUT can't be beat for the best burgers around.

Yet again I went here for lunch and STILL love it! :D The only complaint I have is the buns; with everything I get on them (mayo, mustard. ketsup, extra grilled mushrooms and jalapenos) it falls apart after the first 3 bites. :( After the fiasco at Little Big Burger (NASTY) this is my go to burger place in town!

Took my nephew here a couple of days ago and I have to say that my opinion about 5 Guys hasn't changed much since I lived in Atlanta: It's a decent burger with good fries, but not much to write home about. I like the "little" burger, which is actually a normal-sized burger, although the name seems to suggest a children's portion. A regular burger is a double patty, which I think is just a little too much and a bit expensive for what you get. When I pay over $6 for a burger, I like having the option of having it cooked to a temperature of my choosing, and that's simply not available here. If you like your burgers well-done anyway, I guess that won't matter. Fries are boardwalk-style, and the portions are enormous. They theoretically portion them in an 8 oz. cup, but then they throw a bunch more fries in the bag, anyway, so you end up getting half a ten-pound sack's worth of potatoes. I could never eat a full portion of fries here and be able to look myself in the eye the next morning. We brought home leftovers and plan to reheat them in the oven with a little cheese for a tasty snack later. Fountain drinks offer plenty of choices, with Coke Zero and Sprite Zero available, as well as several kinds of tea, so everyone should be able to find whatever they like. I do like the free peanuts and the color scheme here adds to the overall impression that this place is clean and well-run. Again, not my first choice for a burger, but there are definitely some good points.

Me and my cousin had a craving for a burger,so we headed on down to five guys. Ive been to Dickie-Jo's,Red Robin, and I beleive this one has them both beat for a few reasons. The burger you get for the amount of money is pretty incredible.Throw on all the free extras and it made it even more special. The interior was clean, well kept.Bonus point for the very open air, visible kitchen. The fries were ok,however they werent as crispy as I would have liked. Another plus is they offer on tap my favorite drink Gold Peak Sweetened green tea, All in all a good experience, definitely worth the marginal price.

I'm not that big of a burger guy - which is funny, because if you saw me in profile on the street, you'd think, "Wow, that big guy really likes his burgers!" People LOVE Five Guys - or they don't. Reviews are very mixed, not sure why. So I'm here to tick everybody off and tell you that I think this food is average. My cheeseburger was good enough. I really liked the fresh, crisp vegetables and the generous smear of mayo. Three slices of American cheese was one too many. I assumed that as passionate as some people are about this place, the hamburger would have a higher fat content, but it didn't seem to. In fact, the beef was not the star of this burger at all. Maybe they should bump up the seasoning or try to caramelize the patties better. The French Fries were clearly hand-cut but not at all crispy and a bit mealy inside. A note about portion, and I know I'm going to sound a little parental here: have a burger OR fries and then decide if you want more. For the regular order of fries, they give you about two pints worth, one in the bucket and another in the bag. What is normally known as a hamburger is called a "little" burger here, meaning you get one patty. Order a hamburger, and you'll get two patties, tipping in at over 1/4 pound. It's a lot to woof down. A cheeseburger and fries will run you $10.

This Five Guys serves up great grub, just like the rest of their outlets. What gives this location five stars is the scenery: watching politically-correct, free-range, grass-fed (truly), organic, artisan, hyphenated Eugenean granoli-vegetarians struggle with the Five Guys Palooza-o-Dead Meat. So, a word to the Veggie/Vegan Valley Dwellers: There are no converts to be had here. None. Do not venture to the Five Guys unless you like dead fatty animals covered with dead fatty animal products served in a bag with other dead animals and vegetables covered in a whole lot of fat. Fat probably derived at least in part from animals. Do not come here looking for a salad. Or a vegan meal. Or a gluten-free option. Stay the f*** out, please. Thanks. It will leave more for the rest of us.

Admittedly, I'm no burger connoisseur, so I am not rating the burger here, only the experience and 'other food' The fries are pretty good, though sometimes a bit too heavily seasoned. The good things is that you get a LOT of them. Generally more than fits in the container, with a bunch extra in the bag. A single portion is easily shared. Since I'm not a burger person, I always get a grilled cheese, and to be honest, the Five Guys grilled cheese sandwich and I are in a bit of a love-hate relationship with one another. You see, the burger simply begs to be eaten with its golden fried exterior and melty cheese, and I am a big sucker for grilled cheeses of all kinds. However, I just don't know how I feel about the inside of the sandwich. You see, they simply turn over two burger buns and stick cheese in between. That means the interior is not toasty bread, but slightly soggy/slippery bun crust. I also really don't feel $3.39 is justified for a fairly small hamburger bun with a small amount of cheese. The grilled cheese at Jack in the Box is MUCH better, comes with curly fries, and is a lot cheaper. The atmosphere is kind of lacking too. I mean, what can I really expect of a fast food chain, right? But still, other fastfood chains seem to have more booths, more privacy dividers, etc. Conclusion: I don't mind tagging along with my husband and friends to Five Guys, the fries and grilled cheese aren't bad. However, if I were by myself and wanted a cheap, simple, fast grilled cheese + fries, I would definitely go across the street to Jack in the Box.

We went there for the first time last night and were underwhelmed by the burgers. My husband didn't know that a regular burger is actually a double; it was huge. Why don't they post that on the menu? Maybe they do and I missed it? Anyway, it was nice to see that they offered a large selection of free toppings and I appreciated the toasted buns, but the burger itself was not juicy or flavorful. It was better than McD's though! As for the fries, they were yummy. I liked how they weren't heavily salted, that they were made fresh to order, and the skins were left on. The extra scoop thrown in the bag was nice, too. I don't know if I'll visit a Five Guys again, but I had to see what everyone has been raving about.

5 guys is a great little burgar place. Their fries are cut in house and the quality of food is very good. A lot like in-n-out but a little more money. I eat here every few months.

I've had a couple of bad experiences at the one on 7th, mainly to do with orders being wrong and rude customer service, but I have to amend my review and say that there service has improved and was probably being brought down by a few bad apple's. With the exception of a couple most everyone there is friendly, engaging and ready to help. If they mess up an order they immediately make it right with a side of empathy. Their food is fresh and tasty and their place is always super clean.

Here's my strategy for eating burger and fries without feeling uncomfortably full: no buns, share the fries (unless they're spicy or sweet potatoes, then I'm willing to risk the consequences). It works for me since I can enjoy the flavors without feeling like I need to be rolled out of the burger joint. I like that a fast food burger joint can serve a bunch of lettuce around the meat and not wince at me. I like that they put the liquid condiments on little containers for me so that I can put as much mustard or ketchup I like for my lettuce burger without dripping it all over the place. I also decided on the little hamburger, since one meat patty is really all I need. The whopping amount of fries from a regular order is perfect for sharing. The bulk peanuts is a new phenomenon for me; though I don't get why it would be in a burger place, it does make Five Guys unique in that manner. The simple menu selection gives me an impression that they want to focus on doing their burgers right. And it's actually quite decent. They are one of the very few fast food joints that I'd definitely return to.

My teen insisted we try 5-Guys, we ate there in Spring 2013. I wasn't impressed, fries tasted good but far too greasy. The burger was so-so, nothing special, kinda bland, and too greasy. The portions are big, I couldn't finish my burger or fries, and that wasn't only due to the overly generous use of oil. I felt bloated and yuck after our lunch. The counter staff was friendly but not helpful answering our questions, he didn't know how to describe the difference between the "Little" burger and the "Burger", the menu didn't specify, and his accent was so strong we couldn't really understand what he was saying, and so we ended up not ordering what we had actually wanted(we later discovered the regular "burger" is 2 patties, the "Little burger" is 1). Regardless, it wasn't an awful experience nor terrible food. I just wasn't happy enough with the food to eat there again or recommend it. Far too many better burgers in the Eugene area to repeat one that was "Meh". But my teenager loves 5-Guys. So to each his own, I guess.

Well me and the girlfriend went to 5 guys and a burger. and when we got there the first thought we had was that the place looks like a copy of Dicky's jo's Burger (the one on east 13th street.) Well me and the girlfriend ate there for a total of $25.35 and that included 2 burgers, 2 large fries and 2 large drinks was worth the visit. The service was fast and I like how they give your food to ya in a brown sack, that way you can see the grease spots from the fries. and yes they give ya a whole bunch of fries to go with your meal. Will I be back again??? yes I will.

The best thing about getting a burger here is that all the basic burger toppings other than cheese or bacon are free. In addition to the regular stuff like lettuce, tomato, onion, ketchup, mayo etc., you can get toppings like grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, jalepenos, A1 all for free (and as many as you want, you could get all of it if you wanted!) The burgers themselves regularly are double patty and pretty darn delicious. It definitely curbed my burger craving and didn't leave me absolutely stuffed. The regular fries are good too. We got a large order and it fed the 5 of us (4 of them being 21 year old males, which was impressive.) I love that they have malt vinegar next to the condiments, you don't see that offered many other places. I would definitely come here again, it's 6 bucks for a burger which beats out Dickie Jo's for pricing. The reason I'm giving 4 stars though is because I wish they offered fry sauce. It's just something to be expected at a place that is trying to look like a sort of old-school burger shop.

My kids love this place. On my latest outing I finally figured out I could order a vegetarian sandwich. Don't get me wrong, I love meat but usually I'm looking for a lower calorie option. This was perfect. When I really want to cut back, I don't eat the bread. That leaves room for a few fries! Love the fries.
