The Countryside isn't fancy, it isn't spotless, it isn't even consistent in its food presentation but it is fun, friendly and the pizza is to die for! The menu has plenty of options if you don't appreciate a delectable pizza and you can have an adult beverage should you choose. You will definitely get service with a smile any evening of the week and a fair price to boot.

Good food. Terrible service. I suppose the waitress heard me tell my date that the bathroom was out of paper towels because she almost elbowed me in the chest while serving our pizza. No, I'm not exaggerating. She also stopped by our table before we were done dining and commented on the fact that we had not yet paid our bill and asked what was going on. Not kidding. This really happened. Not worth it. I actually wished my date had not left a tip, I'm sorry to say. I don't often write reviews like this. You really need to avoid this establishment. When people are this obviously unhappy about their jobs in a place that is not even half full, you have to suspect some sort of larger management problem.

I feel bad posting this because Countryside has pretty decent food, but I know that this place shares a kitchen with the bar next door and seeing as the bar does not have their own Yelp account, this will have to do. Happy Hours bar is an absolute hell hole. I frequently have to call the cops on their bar patrons who essentially use the alley as a toilet or a cozy little place to do meth. One night, a drunk man even climbed into their dumpster, injured himself and was calling for help all night long. It is definitely the local hardcore, "Jesus god that person needs an intervention" type of alcoholics hang out. I realize I shouldn't have expected much from a place that has a breakfast and beer special but I'm genuinely stunned that they still maintain their liquor license. I would say that if you're looking for a convicted felon gang bang or a place to buy heroin in town, Happy Hours is probably your best bet.

Countryside delivers everything you'd expect from its sister restaurant in Veneta, where it's the only place to have a sit-down dinner in a small town: beer, babies, pizza, burgers, a general grime, employees sharing an omelette at the front counter, breakfast served until 4pm, a super-friendly waitress who probably had to drop out of high school sophomore year when she got knocked up. I'd venture to say that at any given time, at least one of their waitresses is a little pregnant. In addition to the above menu items, they offer sandwiches, obscenely-large calzones (each would feed at least two), salads, steaks and down-home meals like hot beef sandwiches, chicken strips and the like. The service is friendly and the food is just what you'd expect and moderately priced. It's a decent choice for lunch on a Saturday if your family's doing some yardwork together and needs to grab some grub.

Very friendly, foods pretty good, pizza is good but the crust is a little chewy.

Ordered green salad and pizza. Very good pizza. Ordered thin crust, was crispy and cooked to perfection. Te staff was friendly attentive and welcoming. The place is nothing to look at and a bit of a dive but the food and staff are terrific

After reading the negative reviews here, I was a bit worried I'd be dealing with some atrocious servers & patrons and/or finding hairs in my omelet. My experience was better than that... fortunately. I wouldn't go so far as recommending this place, nor would I discourage anyone from trying it. In fact, my hope would be that nobody steers clear of it because of what others perceived about this or any other eatery. Give it a shot. I liked my food and experience, despite the negatives comments. We were seated and had coffee in hand within 3 mins. The coffee was decent, hot, and the lone waitress made sure it was full (5 cups worth). My omelet was a Denver. It was also pretty good... though slightly on the bland side--but that's where chipotle Tabasco comes into play. My country fries were pretty omnomnomish, as was the toast. Overall it was exactly what I'd guess it to have been, from its outward appearance. Nothing fancy, just food. I'm not sure how sensitive most of the negative reviewers are... but while my waitress wasn't a stellar conversationalist, nor miss congeniality, she surely wasn't a rude b--t hole either. She did her job well, with a very minimal amount of ass kissing.

Next to Countryside Pizza is Happy Hours bar. They used to run a breakfast special that I enjoyed 2-3 times a month. $4.99 for breakfast and a PBR. Perfect on a weekend morning. However, last month, to my dismay, when I arrived they informed us that the special now runs Monday thru Friday only. Disappointed, I left. Yesterday, (Saturday) when driving down River Road, I saw the sign back up, advertising the special. Thinking they may have reinstated it, this morning we called to ask. The restaurant employee told us that the special was valid in the bar only. We went in, but on arrival were again told that the special is now valid Mon-Fri only. We questioned the sign (which has no reference to the day limit) and the fact that we had just been told on the phone it was offered, but no deal. Hungry, we ate there anyway. Our bartender is always very friendly, we get great service, and the food is surprisingly good for diner/bar breakfast. But the false/misleading advertising is disappointing. The owners should change the sign to make it clear, or at least take the sign (a sandwich board that stands on the curb) in for the weekends. Probably won't be back for breakfast.

Went here as the place we planned on going to was closed. Ordered thick crust pizza and salads. The pizza as usual was very good and the salads were fresh. I got a ton of shrimp with my salad for $1.99, which I felt was a good deal. The server was excellent. I should have asked his name so I could post it here. He was extremely knowledgeable about the food and the way things are prepared. He went above and beyond in my opinion to communicate with the cook about adjustments to menu items. He also made sure to let customers know about the soups that are made fresh daily.

I have been here for an Organization meeting twice, the first of which I had their pinwheel fries. They were so good I couldn't quit eating them! They are like twisted up steak fries only better. On a different occasion on a camping trip with some friends, we went to the Veneta restaurant and it was just as great. The food comes in a timely manner. There are TVs on which we watched the Ducks game. I can't remember what I had at the Veneta location, but I know I had some of their nachos, which are the best. They were topped with retried beans and all the fixins. They are unique in that they aren't the typical smothered in melted cheese and whatever corn chips. And my friend's daughter ordered the garlic bread which also looked great. The only issue was they closed before the game was over. But oh well.

FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE, I HAD A HAIR IN MY FOOD HERE!! Came in on a sunday morning, typical old dive bar but they have the same kitchen as Countryside next door so we figured it would be worth a try, NOPE!! Crap service, wasn't even acknowledged for a good 5 min after sitting down... Ordered the standard omlette, took one bite, meh its pretty good, take a second bite, OH MY GOD! Huuuuuuuge black long hair twisting in the cheese of the ommlette, I almost puked. NEVER AGAIN! DO NOT EAT HERE!

Horrible!! Used a groupon and wish I had not wasted the $$. The steak was dry and hard as a rock, I think it was microwaved. The vegetables were covered in oil and cold. My daughter had ordered the pizza and it was equally as yucky. Crust Was chewy and tasted like bisquick. We were scared to send it back as a waitress was so rude I didn't even want to know what would happen. So unfortunately we left there hungry and needless to say super disappointed:(

I love this place! It's a good stand by. Everything that I've had here has been huge and delish. The pizzas and salads are my favorite, unless I'm there for breakfast, which is great too. Being from Elmira the Country Side in Veneta is something I grew up with and this one is just about as good. BTW the bar next door is kind of a dive but the servers are nice and they have karaoke, and serve the food from Country Side :) -Katherine

I think Countryside has the best pizza in town. I've also had many of their other menu items and have not been dissapointed. I enjoy Karaoke and other holiday events at Happy Hour. I strongly recommend giving Countryside a try!

1 star seems much to generous for this place. By far the WORST customer service I have EVER experienced. I am not sure how this place is still open.

We went there for breakfast and it was the worst service. Not only was the waitress rude and seemed annoyed that I asked a simple question, and the other customers who may have been regulars at this establishment, were rude and made it feel like we didn't belong there. It was out first and last time we ever go there. We felt so uncomfortable and left before we even had a chance to order. Which we were there 15 minutes and still hadn't even been greeted. Yet 2 different tables were seated and orders taken before us. We had heard the good was really good but unfortunately never got to try. Bad service will always override good good for us. Good luck if you go there. Not recommended.

Wonderful place. This is where I go with my partner when we really don't feel like cooking. I can always find something I like, whether it's sandwiches or burgers, or appetizers. I haven't had the pizza yet because I keep getting distracted by everything else! The to-go orders are awesome, too. They line the to-go box with foil, so everything is still piping hot by the time you get it home.

The pastas, pizzas, skillets, homestyle breakfasts, calzones, pizzas are all delicious! We also tried bloody mary's and they were epic!
