I wasn't sure what to think when my husband and I drove up to the worn-out-looking building, but the woman working behind the counter immediately won me over. She was friendly and personal, and ran things with small-town charm. An example: our meals came out to $17.49, and she charged my husband's card $17.50 and offered him a penny because the "9" button is wearing out and it hurts her hand to push it :) I liked the selection, and I liked that my plate included teriyaki chicken, cali rolls, one pot sticker, and one egg roll. YES to variety! Also, we each just wanted water to drink, and we could choose from a variety of cups. She insisted I drink my water from a wine glass :) My husband chose a bright orange plastic tumbler. The egg flour soup was ok. I put some hot sauce in it and enjoyed the kick it added. It was mostly broth though, and I like a little more. (Water chestnuts would be a great addition, for example.) I am always skeptical about ordering sushi from a place that does not specialize in sushi, and even then... But...it was actually very good. Not the #1 cali roll I've ever had, but very good. The rest of the food was also very good, obviously made to order, not ahead and served up. It all tasted very hot and fresh. I don't know how often we will be going to Dallas, it's not exactly on the way to anywhere (except Kings Valley? Falls City?), but if we do I would definitely be willing to eat here again.

The food I would go prob 4 stars on, I really like the tempura shrimp with rice and vegetables, but giving a 2 star based on the cleanliness standards. Water cups dusty, spoons sticky, tables dirty, and there was a big hair on my plate of pot stickers, need a health review here unfortunately

This has excellent Yakisoba. The prices are very reasonable.

Sorry, Yami, you are still yummy, but I found Sushi To Go in Salem and they seem to have an edge. My last visit to Yami was also a bit of a disappointment, as you stopped serving the free egg drop soup (now it's hot and sour soup), plus the portions were dramatically lower than before. But that's okay, Yami, I still love you.

Decided to try again. Went for lunch and tried the sabi noodles? Something like that. Salty. That's all I could taste. Ate a little, left the rest. Yuck.

This place is a great location to eat at if you find yourself in Dallas. The food is very good. I usually get the Teriyaki Pork and a side of Pot Stickers (gyoza), and I am never disapointed. In response to the review saying they never had a menu brought to them: You order at the counter when you enter. They don't bring menus to you.

I enjoyed very much everything here. I like that you get free soup too (yes, it was tasty). The noodles were great. Fun small town Japanese restaurant experience.
