I've read a lot of back and forth on the grease factor, but I gave a sweet and sour combo with pork fried rice and chicken chow mein a whirl. It's true, it's greasy. Not the fried stuff, but the noodles. If eating it makes you feel like you just put on Carmex, then they're greasy. Tasted damn fine though. Fried rice was good. Needed a little soy. Portions are good for the price as well.

I'm so, so, so glad I found this place. Good Kung Pao tofu is hard to come by, and they get it just about perfect. (insert fist pump) Everything I have had here has been good. There's a lot to choose from on the menu. Including the hilariously-named "Vegetarian Only" section. The decor is casual but nice-looking. The service is friendly as well. And the prices are all pretty reasonable (the lunch menu is a downright steal). Coming here is an overall enjoyable experience. I have two complaints-- minor to me, but still worth noting. 1. They reeeeeally ought to invest in new silverware, it is all scuffed up and I always think it's dirty at first before realizing it's just a scratch or scuff. 2. The service is slow. Friendly, but boy howdy, it can be sluggish. Usually I don't mind, but don't come here if you're in a hurry.

I get food from this place all the time. The chow fun is really good. I believe its the only Chinese food place in tow that actually delivers too

This place is clean and the service was friendly. The food wasn't awful or anything , just bland and flavorless. I wouldn't say gross, just boring. Certainly won't return.

We always stop here on our way to the coast. Vegetables are so fresh and crisp and food is excellent.

Visiting Corvallis and just stopped by for some takeout. The staff were very friendly but this was probably some of the worst Chinese takeout we've ever had. Fried rice was very bland, mandarin chicken was breaded and bland as well, and the broccoli and mushrooms simply tough. We'd go back and request a refund if we were still near-by.

I think this is the best of all the Chinese places in town. The noodles are oily but they are delicious. I haven't had a bad dish from here. The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is really nice for being in a strip mall.

My favorite Americanized Chinese (is there any other kind?) food in town. Good flavor. Good prices. Decent portions. Nice lunch and dinner combo plates. Lots of chunks of pork and vegetables in the fried rice and chow mien.

If you want to find an authentic chinese food, this is the place. I've heard several bad dishes, but mostly good dishes. Almost all of chinese foods are greasy. Last week, I ordered a braised pork to go and the service was awesome. The food was awesome, although it is a little greasy as I would expect. Their chinese menu is very awesome among the chinese food place in Corvallis. The atmosphere is very clean and warming. And if you want take order to go, they offer delivery service for 3 miles near the restaurant. Not bad for a place.

Great service! Wonderful food with both American Chinese and authentic Chinese dishes if you ask for them. They offer gluten free dishes and are always very careful with my GF orders. Always greeted with a smile at the door and the servers are attentive. Quick service and I have never experienced a greasy menu item here, ever. It truly baffles me that others have given this review. Best Chow Fun noodles I've ever had!

We stopped by here on our way to the coast! It was disgusting! I had the sweet and sour chicken.always my favorite when having Chinese! Gross! I'm pretty sure I was eating leftovers from who knows when such I did not finish! My wife had the Mongolian beef which laid in a pool of grease! She ended getting pretty sick! First and last time we'll ever go there!

DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!! Most disgusting Chinese food ever. Don't bother trying various dishes, they're all fried and battered in the same grotesque breading and grease. I ordered orange chicken and sweet and sour pork and couldnt tell the difference between them. EVERYTHING is just scrap meat and bits battered and fried served with some pink sauce on the side. I vomited after eating there food. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY

I will not order from here again. I ordered from here one night and they showed up three hours later. They dropped my food off two hours after the "delivery window" after ringing my doorbell after 9pm and waking up my toddler niece. When he arrived, he said that he can't "keep track" or "guarantee" our delivery. I declined the food after the delivery driver finally showed up.

Ordered shrimp w cashews, however chicken and cashew plate arrived. Server apologized and corrected. Food was just OK. Not great, not terrible. The hot and sour soup was not that good. While eating there was all types of people doing construction work and renovation. Server was not really very attentive especially since there was only 1 table of 2 plus myself in the restaurant. I think instead of spending money on renovation they should focus on improving the food and the service.

They have good dishes and bad dishes, but when it comes to Chow Mein, they have the best...usually. Tonight I got a botched order, it was very bad (couldn't get much worse). I spoke to Annie and Michelle. They are giving me credit and I did not have to go back in to take them the bad food. Everyone makes mistakes, it's all about attitude and doing the right thing when mistakes are made. I say they couldn't have done any better. They did me right and I won't forget that. I will definitely be going back, just not for the special order crunchy chow mien. The prices are mostly inexpensive and the portions are modest. 7.95 for a chow mien that will last two meals? Heck yeah. Thanks you two, for fixing the error.

Um...this is no good at all, the food was very oily, the chicken didn't taste like chicken, the taste wasn't right. The only thing that tasted good was the white rice. Thank you no thank you.

Why would you go here? There are so many better Chinese options in Corvallis. It's just your run of the mill Americanized Chinese food.

Nice people and nice service. Always very friendly. I like their new remodel. Someone on here said their vegetables were always fresh and crispy. I have to agree. The food, especially their stir-frys, are very good and feel like healthy eating. Some dishes are a little run of the mill, standard deep fried with a standard sauce on top.... but they are still good. WAAAAY better than China Blue. They are expanding their menu to include very authentic traditional, non-americanized Chinese dishes that give me pause at times... but for the natives of the orient, they will feel right at home. This restaurant has a lot of potential, and as they expand their menu and experiment with the taste buds of the local residents, and as their chefs find their confidence and culinary artistry, they should experience increasing success. To be good, they should move away from the typical food service supplier of Crab Rangoon and breaded deep friend chicken and head towards home-made, fresh from scratch, Chinese dishes. They could take the top honors for Benton County if they listen to this advice.

I have a similar experience to Kirsten T's. I started going to Blue Sky two years ago when they were in the mini mall near Safeway. I went there probably 20 times for lunch and dinner before they moved to their new location right next to the highway. The food was pretty good; not amazing, but always consistently good and the service was very friendly and it was a great deal (especially for lunch.) Since they've moved though, I've gone about 5 times and I was disappointed almost every time. The last time I went, the chicken was so overcooked I could not bite through most of the pieces. It was the same for my two roommates, so we took it back and they tried again. It was a bit better, but was then squishy / under cooked. (That was about 4 months ago I stopped going) I figured I'd edit this since I've gone a couple more times just to see if it's improved, and it was better. It wasn't as good as it was before they moved, but it wasn't bad.

One of the worst Chinese restaurants I've ever ate at. The sweet and sour chicken comes as mar far chicken with a side of their take on sweet and sour sauce in a container. The sauce is thin like water and is not sweet or sour. The chicken is always overcooked and tough. Not a good combo. Their pork fried rice is very bland. No flavor, and there's really nothing else in it besides rice, and a small amount of pork. The crab rangoon is awful. Chewy and inedible.

Given the other Yelp reviews, my husband & I took a chance on this place. How the word "taste" could be used in any description of their food is incomprehensible, unless you mean NO taste, i.e. bland. Yes, lunch prices are a great deal and the serving staff is pleasant. The noodles in my Chicken Chow Fun were flat, not FAT, which they should have been, and besides a bit of unobjectionable chicken the dish included a sparse amount of cabbage & julienned carrots. My husband's Chicken Chow Mein was dominated by spaghetti-like noodles, certainly not pan-fried, and was served cold. We ordered a plate of Pork Fried Rice, also bland and featuring a mix of previously-frozen peas & cubed carrots, but less offensive than the noodle dishes. In no dish was there a bean sprout, water chestnut, bamboo shoot, or any vegetable traditional to Chinese food and NO FLAVOR. If this is the best Chinese food in the area, I despair.

I have ordered from here multiple times, and the food always arrives on time, albeit having to be over $15 plus a $2 delivery charge. The food has gotten progressively worse and is never consistent. The wontons were decent, but the sesame chicken was terrible. Too bad this is the only delivery chinese place in Corvallis.

Compared to the other popular chinese destination in Corvallis which is King Tin. This place will beat King Tin down. Oh and Fung's too. I use to work at Fung's. They serve good old fashioned Americanized Chinese.. well most of the menu is.. and it's good and done right. This is delicious for Corvallis so deal.

In a word: No. Two stars instead of one, as it could have been worse. Moo Shu was not right, and the pancakes were dry/breaking. Walnut prawns, which are a standard and favorite in my house, were edible, but not good. Sauce was thin and watery. Not good. Mini pork buns... I asked if they were just small steamed pork buns and was told they were. Well, they are not. Not like pork buns, and not good. So, the theme of the meal was "not good". Edible, but not worth eating again. An expensive bad meal, and a regrettable one at that. We won't be back. ** I should mention that I have friends who love this place. I am not a fan.

Ugh... This place makes me sad because it used to be so great. I have been going to Blue Sky since I was a kid when they were on Kings. When they moved to their first location on Philomath Blvd they were still great. And then, I don't know what happened, I can only assume they lost a great chef, because things have gone downhill. The flavor has been turned down; things are overcooked in what tastes like stale oil. I keep going there every six months or so hoping that it will be good again, and I've been consistently let down. I really hope they can turn this place around. The woman who owns the place is very sweet and I wish the best for her and her business. Get better cooks! Until they get it together I'm eating at Queen's Chopstick.

Meh, I've given this place chance after chance and it's just kind of gross. I think it just had it's last shot for me. I LOVE crab rangoons so when I find a place that has them I'm always excited...these are always chewy and taste...stale. I thought it was a one time thing but...3 tries later they are always like that. I'll pass. The sweet and sour chicken, lemon chicken, and orange chicken ALL start with the same coated fried chicken chunks. Always with more coating than chicken and ALWAYS overcooked so they are a chewy mess. The lemon sauce is always over corn starched and the orange sauce was either forgotten or so lightly coated that the breading soaked it up and you couldn't even taste it. I offered one to my pet who usually goes bonkers for chicken and he just walked away from it. I ordered a large rice (I always want leftovers for the next day) .. I got the large container... but it was only 1/2 full. That's happened more than this one time. I hardly ever get the little package of sauces/fortune cookies. I have YET to get chopsticks when I ask for them. Add to all that a 1+ hour delivery time and I'll just suck it up, put on shoes, and run over to China Blue where the sauces (lemon, sweet/sour, and orange) are so delicious i want to eat the styrofoam container.

I really like this place when I am having a Chinese food craving! My favorite two things to get are the veggie fried rice and the egg flower soup! Its so good! Every time I am sick I get the egg flower soup to go just to make my body feel better. I use to go to their old location but since they moved I still go. Bigger place and they are still just as good!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
