Seated fairly fast. Hot food, a bit bland - 2 of our group thought it was the best, 2 thought it was ok. We will return. Prices are good, nice people too.

It was good to return to the restaurant formerly known as Rubio's (since the 1970's). Pancho's seems to have kept almost everything as it was, which is good! The service was great. The food, while, its own brand of Mexican, is also quite good. I like the chili relleno, enchilada and taco combo which has held the same price since forever. The salsa had changed slightly, but when I asked for a hotter offering, I was VERY pleased with the habanero salsa. The only aspect I would like to see changed would be the taco shells, but it's Brookings and I am happy it continues to be there!

what a gem in this little town of brookings! we spent 7 days in town and had to eat out a couple times/day, and ate here twice. then we ran out of time. wait staff superfriendly and attentive with the refills. the mini tostada with chicken was absolutely scrumptious. the mini tostada with pork, was good, the pork a bit dry. but still so good. hubby's tacos and enchiladas were excellent. he has never raved over enchiladas and tacos and rice and beans like he did here. wow. when we go back, our first stop will be at pancho's!!

The reviews were spot on! We enjoyed vegetarian fajitas and scrumptious chile rellano on the patio. Very welcoming and courteous staff throughout our stay. Highly recommend!

My husband and I came here because I felt like Mexican for dinner and it wasn't far from our job that we had to do that night, we ordered two appetizer's the Mexican pizza which was HUGE and it tasted awesome!! then we ordered the combo appetizer that had nachos, chimichangas, and something else I can't remember lol, this was really good as well a lot of flavor from both apps, I ordered a pink lemonade it was good had a lot of alcohol, and then I had a Kiwi Margarita which was very tasty by the time we left I was feeling the alcohol lol, for dinner we both had two chimichangas and we both had one chicken and one pork. The apps were so enormous that we couldn't finish dinner so we got that to go, the only problem the menu was HUGE and it was hard to decide I kept dancing back and forth because it was so big it was really hard to decide....... They still deserve five stars the food and drinks were amazing they just need to knock their menu down a little keep it to two pages not four..... I do recommend this place the food is really good and service is fast, they also bring out chips and salsa while you wait which are really good :-)

If you happen to find yourself in Brookings, Oregon, and you really want some Mexican food, this place just might do the trick. If you are a minor, or happen to look like one, they absolutely will not let you sit anywhere near the bar. Not even at a booth next to the bar. Never thought I would get carded just to sit at a table in a restaurant located across from a bar, but I guess there's a first time for everything. (Is this an Oregon thing?) I was going to go with my standby of cheese enchiladas, but, when in the PNW, you should probably eat all of the seafood available to you, so I chose the prawns and scallops with rice. The dish was interesting and relatively tasty. There was no shortage of prawns and scallops and the sauce was pretty good. The dish includes tomatoes and mushrooms, as well as a few other things. The serving size is huge, as in there is enough food for two or three people. I didn't finish all of it, but I certainly put in a valiant effort. I don't remember the chips and salsa, so, in my world, that means they were probably nothing to write home about. The service wasn't excellent, but it wasn't downright terrible, either. I'll probably never find myself in this small town again, but if you happen to find yourself in Brookings while driving up the Pacific Coast Highway and you really, really need to get your Mexican food fix - eh, why not?

Their portions are large and in charge! they are super cheap and delicious. The place is really clean, the service is fast. My family and I go out there a lot, its the go to place for mexican food which we love! The margaritas are jose, serious tequila! They are delicious and refreshing on a hot day! yeah thats right, its okay to day drink.

Nice clean place. Food is very Americanized. Service is good I recommend this place for families with kids. This isn't the place to go for spicy authentic Mexican food. Prices are very reasonable but you get what you pay for.... The 5 dollar lunch special is just that.

The wife and I stopped in last night. I had the prawn lovers burrito and she had the chefs burrito. We split a plate of nachos. Delicious, everything was freshly made. You do get some chips and salsa, but spring for the $5 nachos, you won't be disappointed.

We have been to Pancho's several times and each time the food was excellent and the service was fast and friendly. Today was no exception...I had a Chimichanga and it was delicious. We'll be back...

I love this restaurant. It has the best Mexican food in the area of brookings, harbor, smith river and crescent city with the best price. Veggie burritos are the best here. Waitresses are friendly and service is good.

Good service. The salsa was OK which I was told that it was homemade. The two steak tacos I had were the best I have had in a long time. I will return here again when traveling this way again.

I was in town to see my grandparents who live in town and the first night I got there we went to Pancho's. It was pretty good! I loved the rice, chicken tacos, chips are amazing, and they are very nice! I ended up going again (my Papa likes this place a lot hehe) and I had the same thing! Good combos, not pricey and I liked the atmosphere. Now, is this the best and authentic Mexican food ever? No, but it is the best bet for good food and good people! Oh and they do accommodate large groups and check on your table quite often which is nice! Go here for breakfast, lunch, or dinner! :D

This place has great Mexican food, drinks and atmosphere. Enjoyed the homemade guacamole.

  • Diane M.

Chicken enchaladas were great. Fresh homemade red sauce was delicious. Came with rice & pinto beans. Beans were a little boring. Homemade salsa was great. Bought some to take home. Tex mex soup was very flavorful but there was too much chicken ( which was kinda dry) & not enough veggies for my taste. Had a yummy margarita! Place was very clean & nice ambiance. Everyone was very friendly. & service was great & with a smile! Would have given a 5 if not for the beans & dry chicken in the soup. All in all a very good experience & will definitely go back.

The best veggie burrito I've ever had; I requested mole sauce. My spouse had a #10 chile relleno; she said it was the first one she'd ever had that was NOT greasy.

We were driving from Oregon and found this place on highway 101. Food was very good, service was great and margaritas were made really good. It's clean and close to motels. If your in Brookings go check them out.

  • Susan W.

Panchos is delicious. I always get the bean and cheese chimichanga which comes with guacamole and sour cream. They of course provide chips and salsa. Their blackberry margarita is also quite yummy. Definitely recommend this place, it always tastes so fresh and the staff is friendly.

One for trying, the food is so un-authentic,it's embarrassing, the prices just went up, for for this garbage?

Shared two entrees at lunch. First up was a grilled fish salad - an abundant amount of delicious, fresh Snapper, but served on a bed of "mixed green salad" that was really a bed of what seemed like one kind of lettuce (with a few pieces of cabbage). The second entree was a seafood combo, which had shrimp, scallops, and snapper that was "sautéed in a spicy wine, butter, and garlic sauce, and served in a bowl with chopped jalapenos, cilantro and our special blend of spices". But what it turned out to be was the seafood mentioned served in a butter and garlic soup; not what we were expecting. There was nothing unusual about the rice and beans; very ordinary. Their salsa was excellent, and the chips were not at all greasy like many places. Service was friendly, but no one ever checked up on us once we got our meal, until we were waiting for the bill. It was a very 'ok' experience.

8-31-14 I travel a lot looking for the different variations of Classic Mexican food We stopped by Panchos seeking a fresh well cooked meal. I ordered the prawns and scallops over rice and my wife had the combo beef enchilada and chili rellano My prawns and scallops were cooked perfectly and the quality of the ingredients was outstanding. Everything FRESH MADE. Tortillas, chips, salsa all home made and very good. My wife's food was very flavorful and a perfectly cooked. chili rellano , nice a crispy on the outside and loaded with cheese on the inside. Enchilada was loaded with beef and basted in a great sauce. Beans are homemade NOT CANNED and very flavorful. A lot of hard work goes into the preparation of the food and it is all served by a very pleasant wait staff. The fried ice cream was the crowning glory to top off this very pleasant experience. Very reasonably priced Portion size was more than I needed We will defanantly be coming back soon.

Nice casual dining and good Mexican food being that we are far from most National Mexicans. Americanized versions of the food, and I do believe some of them were actually pre-made frozen and heated/fried at time of service. Tasted similar to Schwan's frozen foods. I split an appetizer platter with my husband. The meat in the tiny tacos was edible but definitely not something found in most tacos (let alone mini tacos). It was more like a Taco Bell or Jack In the Box product. Not that this is entirely a BAD thing, but certainly not prepared fresh in Pancho's kitchen. The mini burritos were also exactly like those I've bought in the frozen foods section at my local store. They were zippy, but not especially authentic. I ordered a cup of albondigas soup which turned out to be a bowl (score). The difference, apparently, between a "cup" and a "bowl" is that the cup has only one meatball whereas the bowl has three. It was filling and piping hot. My only negative comment about the soup is that they chef was very heavy-handed with the cilantro. The meatball itself was tasty and as I mentioned, the soup was nice and hot. Vegetables were a tad squishy but unacceptably so. I ordered a shredded beef taco which was pretty tame. I'm not the biggest fan of spicy food but Barbie could have lived through this taco. I found myself actually looking for the hot sauce. I am from an area in California where many individuals are actually Mexican (as is my son-in-law who was with us tonight) and am used to a lot more heat in my Mexican food. For this reason (and the questionable freshness of the fried food) I knocked off a star. If it's Mexican food, I want some smoke coming out my ears when I eat a taco. If it's American Mexican food, then I'll pack my own Tapatio. All in all, it was an enjoyable experience. My young granddaughters didn't have any trouble eating the food (especially because it wasn't spicy). There were some very nice things about Pancho's. The wait staff was courteous, efficient, and had a respectable sense of humor (which goes a long ways with me). They brought our basket of obligatory chips along with two bowls of salsa: one "real" salsa and one for the kids (no spice). That was a thoughtful touch. The patio was delightful and would have been my choice to utilize had it not been for the endless rain and chill (for Californians). There were cute metal cutout lizards, geckos and butterflies on the walls both inside and out. The children especially enjoyed seeing those. Our waitress rocked. Very attentive. Very kind.

Great food at this local Mercian place. The selection was typical for most Mexican restaurants and didn't disappoint. I got a taco and an enchilada and both were fantastic. The food was out extremely fast and the dining area was pleasantly decorated. The noise from the bar area was a bit loud but quieted as some members left. We'd definitely come back here and would put it on the "go to" list here in Brookings!

Went here last week and it was super slow, we were the only ones there. Went to the bathroom and there was blood all over the sink. When I went back for salsa and chips, there was a long hair on my husbands chip full of salsa. Not to mention the prices are now higher then Celito Lindo, and not as fast or authentic, not to mention at Celito Mindi, you can watch them cook your food.

I look this place up on yelp and decided to give it a try. The staff was very friendly. As soon as we walked in we were getting and seated. All the dishes on their menu looked delicious so we had a hard time deciding which was a good thing. My son ordered a plain hamburger and couldn't stop talking about how good it was. He said he has never tried such a good hamburger at a Mexican restaurant. As for my daughter she tried the camarones a la diabla. They met her expectations which means it was spicy so if your into hot stuff you might want to try this. As for myself I had the prawn and bacon and it was so flavorful! The plate just looked delicious before even trying it! What held me back from giving them 5 stars was the salsa.... I love my salsa and chips and this salsa just didn't do it. Sad to say but it tasted like the canned pace salsa and if you like Mexican food that's not the type of salsa you want. Other than that the food it self was great.

  • Donna H.

We used to love this restaurant, but the last time we went it seemed like nothing was freshly prepared. The fish was not fresh and the enchiladas were nothing special. If you are looking for authentic Mexican food, you will be disappointed.

  • Michael M.

Good food. I love the chimichanga and fish tacos here. Also, be sure to ask for some pico de gallo with your chips when starting out. It is SOO DELICIOUS! The dining room is very informal without an option for booths, so I wouldn't plan a romantic dinner at this restaurant. Friday nights can be filled with families with young kids, and the noise level can get out of hand. Sometimes the drinks are on the weak side. I've had to send drinks back on several occasions because they tasted like they had much less than the normal amount of alcohol in them. We our locals so we are constantly finding ourselves weighing the taste of the food (which is delicious) vs. the atmosphere (which is non-existent).

  • Mike B.

Very clean. Friendly fast service. Good menu. But the food is BLAND. You'll be hard pressed to find a jalapeño or sauces made with ground chiles. I had the shredded beef burrito and my wife had the veggie burrito. We even asked to have them spicy but not much flavor. This was our second stop here with the same opinion. Not really bad just not satisfying if you want authentic Mexican food.

The food was ok but just ok...the service was horrible I don't know what was wrong with the older woman and the busser girls attitude towards me but they made the whole dining experience uncomfortable..As I always do I asked for spicer salsa I was wondering why the older lady was kinda smirking when she dropped it off at the table...ill tell you why its because they dumped a s*it ton of habanero sauce in their salsa and gave it to me sarcastically My husband was victim of it thanks...He has stomach problems as it is ....but you didn't get the last laugh I did because your plan to burn me literally didn't work because I drink habanero for fun haha to you I liked it!!!but what a nasty thing to do you could've really made some one sick that way!!! I don't think ill be returning just because of the service not even to the bar which I had enjoyed so many times before.

I love Pancho's! I know the family that owns the restaurant and they good a really good job overall. The service is always great and the staff is super friendly. This is usually my go to spot when I go out to eat in Brookings. They have bar seating and outdoor seating as well which is always convenient. If you're looking for a place to get the night started or to grab dinner I'd definitely recommend Pancho's. Their lunch deals are also phenomenal. I usually am pretty simple when it comes to Mexican food. I like to get a hard shell chicken taco, chicken enchilada and rice and beans. You can get that during lunch for about $5!

We were allowed to seat ourselves. Received a menu in a timely manner, but that's where the 'service' falters. We were the only ones in the main dining room. We sat there 15 minutes before the guy came to take our orders. We had even put down our menus to signal we were ready for a good 10 minutes, at least. The food was pretty good. I had veggie fajitas, which really was mostly onions, could have had a lot other vegetables in it. The sauce was good, though. My husband had the steak enchilada. He loved it. Then we waited another 15-20 minutes after we were done to receive our check. The main dining room was filling up by then. It was mostly guy waiters. They need to be more attentive. I'm going to go back to Rancho Viejo. At least the service there is excellent.

A few years ago my rating would have been a 4 or a 5 but they have gone a bit down hill. The chips and salsa are fantastic. In fact, I buy there salsa (they sell by the jar) for home. It is cheap and much better than anything store bought. I used to love their cheese enchiladas but they just have not been the same. Their refried beans are fantastic and many of their foods are good..........just not "out of this world". I highly recommend the margaritas. The blackberry is to die for. It is the best sit down mexican restaraount in town.

  • Melissa R.

The food was nothing to write home about but the service was terrible. When I asked if there was a dinner special the waitress randomly points to an item in my open menu & say ' umm how about that one'. "No" would have been the honest answer. The chips & salsa were stale & bland, so disappointing. When our food did finally come, we had no silverware. She brought us silverware & *1* paper napkin. We did not see her again until she brought the check. We will not be returning. There are other places with better food & service that actually want to earn our money.

Best Mexican restaurant in Brookings. Left Rancho Viejo due to bad service and am glad I did. Panchos is way better. Great soup including albondigas. They sell their salsa at Freddy's. Great lunch specials. Good bar selection.

We were recommended by a local, and what a great recommendation! If you are looking for obnoxious service and over-the-top decor that you'll pay for on the bill, go someplace else. What you'll find here is great service, with a really nice style, a casual vibe, and really good food. I had a Pancho's Enchilada and my husband had fajitas. We were both really happy. The food is flavorful and portions are (too) generous. Prices were very reasonable. Next time we'll sit at the bar. It looked like lots of great characters swing by!.

Good mexican food dinner April 2014. We had beef burrito & carne asada burrito. Both were very good. Chips / salsa good too. Service was excellent, dining area very clean, food great. Out Brookings dining experiences were great overall.

This is a really great restaurant, folks. I'm a Mexican food connoisseur. Have been my entire life. We're talkin' over half a century, Chester. And Pancho's serves some of the best Mexican food I've ever eaten. We--my girlfriend and I--usually eat early. Which is a good thing, because if you get there after 5, you'll be waiting to be seated. Chill. The wait will be worth it. The service is outstanding. The restaurant's atmosphere is pleasing and warm and inviting. The menu is varied and exciting. And the prices are very reasonable, the portions generous and scrumptious. It seems the notion of service has gone out with the dogs this day and age. You can see it everywhere. Once the recession hit, 90 percent of all businesses decided that customer service was expendable: they just want your money, and to heck with you! That isn't the case with Pancho's. The wait staff there is top shelf: prompt, courteous, clean, kind: they smile at you, listen to you, work to please you. Try their seafood combination burrito. If you don't melt with joy with the first bite, you need to have your taste buds examined, because something's seriously up with them. I dream about that burrito. Oh, yeah, one more thing. Their bathrooms are immaculate. Isn't it nice to eat at a restaurant where the facilities are actually kept clean? When was the last time you saw that happen? So. The next time you're up for a wonderful sit-down meal, try Pancho's. It's wonderful.

After being told by the owner of La Flor de Mexico we can't park our 26' motor home in her parking lot. I said thank you and drove north to Pancho's Lucky for us good parking and good Mexican food Came in to Panchos and was greeted by a very nice young lady. She then showed us to our table. Our server was very helpful. We had the best Mexican food. The service was fast and as I said the food was the best. Pancho's was packed with family's and two large groups and we still felt as if we where the only ones in Pancho's. Thank You

My wife and I loved the Salsa. Both Dishes were Good my carne asada had a wonderful flavor to it. Bathrooms were clean, well lit and had beautiful paintings on the walls not what one usually expects from a mexican restaurant. Restaurant has an hybrid sort of outdoor area with nice plants but is still sheltered above but open on the sides to the outdoor air. I did notice they say the food is Puerto Rican which might have some tasted differences - I'm not a food connoisseur or anything just something worth mentioning. We saw tons of Mexican places on the drive back to portland and were concerned about allergies. My wife is DF and GF and the server was helpful with this and she was able to eat there w/o getting sick. We bought 3 cans of the salsa to go and gave one away we only have half a jar left and it's been less than a week. Maybe they will mail order it to us? Not really a yelper but this was a pleasant surprise on the way back from a trip to the redwoods; enough to warrant writing about it.

All the Mexican restaurants in Brookings are Americanized to some extent. They are all very similar in what they serve, and how it tastes. Pancho's is my favorite for our area. They are consistent and I enjoy the meals I have had here. I also appreciate their kids menu and nice staff! After a not so great experience at La Flor, I stopped going there and now rely on Pancho's. They have accommodated us for large groups and always bring you refills, more chips, salsa, etc. They also have many salsa's for every different palate. We usually have 3 different kinds at our table! My kids love everything on the kids menu and sometimes if can be hard for them to like anything, so that says a lot. My husband loves their burrito's, I love their carne asada. Great portion sizes and prices. Love the outdoor seating area, they even have heaters if it gets a bit chilly. Nice bar area and great decor. We have been coming here for over 10 years, when they had their old building, and will keep coming back!

The chips and salsa and guacamole were fantastic. Also had the wild snapper which came with rice and beans and it was meh. The carne asada was bland. The server was very nice, however. Overall, we started off very strong with some good appetizers but then the main entrées were not so good. Would come back again just for the appetizers.

Sanitized, Americanized "Mexican" food. Looks like Disneyland, tastes like nothing. Bland, uninspired, tasteless. The staff however is very nice, and the restaurant is clean. If you want real Mexican food, this isn't it. If you want a margarita and pretend Mexican, then you could do worse.

What a pleasant surprise to find such good Mexican food in Brookings! The inside of the restaurant is quite colorful and attractive albeit quite noisy and our waitress Yolanda was efficient and timely. The chips were warm and the salsa tasty and mild, I would have like it a bit hotter. When our chips and salsa got low they immediately replenished it. We had a 1/2 carafe of wine, $8, the Fish Burrito $11.75, smothered in a creamy sauce and loaded with pieces of snapper, extremely tastfull and rich in fresh fish and spices flavor. Also had the Seafood Combo $12.95, a bowl of a rich hot and sour tasting fish broth filled with large shrimp, pieces of snapper, scallops and peppers, wonderful medium hot flavor and when I added some lime juice, it was over the top! I will return for sure, great and very tastefull meal.

Ah, another restaurant that was not around when I grew up here. If I would have choices like this (and delicious margaritas) I would have turned out to be a different person. Ok, I'm pretty decent now, but the enchelatas and margaritas kept me wanting more! Now, this review is written from the view that Brookings doesn't have very many good restaurants. So, if you compare this to the Mexican cuisine in a big city, you may be giving a 2 or 3 star rating. Just be warned and remember where you are because you're not going to find Mexican food this good anywhere else.

Pros: Very popular with locals, including Spanish-speaking ones. So it's probably one of the most authentic around the area? Highly recommended by our hotel as well. Friendly service, nice presentation of food. Camarones con tequila (shrimp cooked with pineapple/tequila marinade) Beans were pinto and cheesy. Strawberry margarita was very frosty and had strong strawberry flavor. House margarita on the rocks was good. Cons: Mixed review on food. Rice was kind of crispy. Strawberry margarita was a little too sweet. Details: I'm a carne asada fiend, order it every time I try a new place, and I was slightly disappointed. No particular seasoning to the meat, although it was thin and cooked perfectly, not hard to cut as I've seen it elsewhere. And served with a nice garnish of tomato slices, onion slices and avocado slices. So it was good but not the best I've had. Flour tortillas were very warm and tasted authentic. Hubby had camarones con tequila, shrimp in pineapple and tequila, and he really liked it. A lot. Kind of sweet, and he usually likes spicy foods, but he loved the combination and the fact that you could taste the shrimp. Not impressed with the salsa, although they brag about it being for sale at the restaurant and local stores. Seemed blended - no chunks of anything - and a little sweet, definitely not spicy (and I don't like spicy at all, but I thought it was pretty bland). We went on Valentine's Day and the place was crowded and obviously filled with locals (groups, kids, etc.) - lots of people talked to each other from different tables, many speaking Spanish. I got the feeling this is one of the better places in the Brookings area.

We were camping on the coast and it got too late in the day to campfire cook, so we decided to dine in at Pancho's based on all the 4 and 5 star reviews. We were so disappointed. I had the Camerones ala Creme...more like Camerones ala CRAP! My boyfriend had the seafood burrito...also CRAP. Both of our dishes came out smothered in this sour cream sauce that was the color of pepto bismal. Now I love sour cream, but this sauce was terrible. It tasted like it was made out of oil, sour cream, ketchup, and green chilies. The seafood was not fresh, (you could totally tell it was frozen) which was disappointing since the restaurant is located on the Oregon Coast and you can buy fresh seafood down at the docks. The sales tasted like tomatoes and sugar. I give them 2 stars because the nachos appetizer was pretty delicious (not totally swimming in cheese and oil), and the restaurant was clean and staff was friendly. If ever in the area again we would pass this place up, I recommend trying other places in Brookings. We also had the worst stomach ache that night and all the next day.

Brookings has no shortage of Mexican restaurants, and I've always found them average to just below. But Pancho's makes a great margarita, and their grilled fish salad is one of my favorite dishes at any restaurant in town. Would this be a four-star establishment in a bigger city? Maybe not. But if you're looking for the best Mexican in town, this is the spot.

My dinner was good, but my wife wasn't as happy with hers. Overall: good food, not great food.

Great happy hour. Careful, the margarita will give you a brain freeze! Good enchiladas. Great fish tacos and carne asada. Delicious chicken taco salad. Enough food for leftovers.

Looking for an alternative to fast food while traveling through Brookings we stumbled upon Pancho's. The first thing we noticed was how clean the restaurant was. Even the restrooms were spotless. The employees were friendly and happy and our food was served fast and hot while our drinks never went empty. My fish burrito, although nothing fancy, was delicious. We will definitely stop again next time through.

We live in Portland, but go to Brookings regularly to visit Mom. We always have lunch there at least twice. Their margaritas are great and the taco salad is one of the best I've had....the shell was fresh and crispy, put together with the correct yummy ingredients to crunch ratio...I like to be my crunch on. We will be back!

Must be the fact that there is just really good shellfish or seafood along the Oregon Coast. Had the Seafood Taco, sister had the Seafood Burrito, dad had the Scallop and Shrimp over Rice and tomato. all were very delicious. Portions were great and the servers were really nice to us. I think this may have to be one of my favorite mexican restaurants ever in my life. I know its a little much to say especially coming from SF, CA and having been to the Mission where its Mexican foods galore....this has taken a whole new level of Mexican Cuisine to a different level, and one with SEAFOOD! I'm glad we stopped here!

Pancho's was recommended by the B&B where we stayed. I shared a single fajita's order with my wife and we both had plenty of food, and it was fantastic. Waiter was very nice also. We really liked the salsa and ended up purchasing a few jars to take home with us, at $2.75 a jar it is certainly a bargain.

Great Mexican food. The carni asada is very good as is the vegie fajitas. Ate here a couple of times while staying in Brookings and it was consistently good. Everything is reasonably priced as well.

Uhm, it's sort of thoroughly average Mexican fare. Makes me miss Torero's, which was still open the last time I had been in Brookings. All things said, this place is not as good, the portions are huge and the staff was nice enough, but the food was just tasteless, and worst of all, there was no hot sauce on the table.... I generally prefer food much hotter than average, so I know that for American tastes Mexican will get watered down to below what I like, but there were no options for spiciness, and no hot sauce bottles on the tables, so there was nothing to be done to bring it back to a pleasant level of taste, which means that all the service and portion size in the world cannot redeem the feeling of averageness in the restaurant.

Just had dinner at Pancho's--two carne asada tacos with rice & beans for about $10. The things the restaurant has going for it are ample parking, nice decor, attentive wait staff, and large portions. However, my carne asada, while tender, was basically flavorless. The tacos were huge, though, and along with the meat had lots of grilled onions and cilantro, plus nearly a half an avocado between the two. Would I go back? Probably, but I'd order something else.

I have been craving Mexican food lately, especially taco truck tacos. We stopped in for a quick lunch on Thursday, I had the fish tacos, grilled to perfection white fish, lots of fresh lettuce and tomatoes and an excellent Mexican ranch dressing. Yum! Ex BF had their new green pork salad loaded with flavorful pork, fresh vegs, and real pieces of avocado. Their salsa is warm and fresh and home made. Victor our server who is also the manager brought mild salsa for the toddler with out us asking, cool to have the little one get her own salsa. Good grill cheese sandwich and they let us substitute Mexican rice for the french fries. They have a good variety on their lunch menu with items under $5.

This place kicks-ass all around.....service, fantastic.....value, we had two lunches for $9.90!.....quality of food, excellent!.....I wanted a tamale and asked which meat would be best....server suggested the meatless (which is chili and cheese as I found out later) and so I went for it. Easily the best tamale I ever had (and I have had some great tamales). This is a great place to go.....we went there based on Yelp input and are recommending very highly.

Solid mexican food with great prices. We were there with 8 people, everyone got something a little different and everything came out pretty good. Nothing super crazy, but good quality no frills food at great prices. Our tab for 8 of us, including a few drinks was under $90, and I would like to see you be able to go to most places for similar quality food and spend that little.

The food was good, but the service was horrible! We ate out on the patio. It took a while to be noticed that we were ready to order our meals. Then it took forever to get our food. Then, when we were finished, it took forever to get our bill. My husband had to go ask twice for our bill. We got there around 6:00 & finally were able to leave at 8:00! Horrible service!!!

My husband loves their blended madori margaritas. The salsa is fresh. Service excellent. Favorites are their fish tacos, tamales and chicken fajita salad.

When we first moved here from Las Vegas, we tried evey Mexican the town had to offer, most were 'acceptable' one was totally disgusting & has now closed but, the pearl in the oyster was & still is Pancho's. Very clean, the staff always are dressed smartly & cleanly, very friendly service even when hectic lunchtime rush in full swing. The green pork salad, although not really mexican is really rather good, ask for it in a Tortilla Bowl with Mexican Ranch.

Very very very good. I've now eaten there 4 times in 3 weeks. The food was and is so tasty and the staff is wonderful. I agree with the first reviewer the Chili Rellenos are terrific. The prices are GREAT. Lunch is a really good deal. Like for Chili Relleno, rice, beans, ice tea it was $6.05. They do have a full bar and when I have had dinner I have had their margaritas that are very tasty. Its right on the 101 so if you are traveling north it is easy to spot. The parking lot is always full so they must be very good according to the locals as well....

This is an exellent Mexican Restaurant. The Ex-Rubio's really did a masterful job remodeling. Great decor and very good food. You can't go wrong here. It is located the east side of 101 heading north out of town. We are local and eat here often.

Good food, great service, great value. For the Southern Oregon Coast this is one of the better restaurants.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
