I have a fish and crab allergy and they accommodated very well! The owner is amazing and the waitresses are professional and courteous. Love it here!
Just what this area needed! The food looks and tastes like the management is really invested in putting out a great product and the fact that it's sustainable is obviously an added bonus that does not take away from the quality of the food. It will be very exciting to see how this place comes into its own after they have been around for a while.
My husband and I just had dinner at Pacific Sushi. The food was incredible and I have never had sushi this fresh. The presentation was beyond perfection. The service was amazing. Prices were reasonable. We will be back.

Incredible yet again! My girl friends and I were in Brookings for the evening and went to Black Trumpet for dinner it was Wednesday and they were very busy. We had to wait 20 mins. The young lady offered for us to have a cocktail on the outdoors seating area while we waited. It was nice but next time however we will call to make reservations. Once we got sat we could see how extremely busy they were. The server was friendly and greeted us in a timely manner. We received our fig crostini appetizer and drinks and all were amazing. ( the summer sangria a must try) my friend had the goose milk I did not care for but she enjoyed. We ordered dinner a lamb burger, pork shank and a ribeye all were fantastic. Overall service was great even when busy food was perfect and we left very happy! Will go again. The only suggestion I do have is they need to have a busser on busy nights as our waters didn't get filled as frequently as we would have hope due the heat in the tiny bistro other than that a very very nice evening.
The formaggio was incredibly rich and delicious--highly recommend! Although important note: the lunch menu is limited to salads and sandwiches.
Driving through town and decided to try this place because of the great Yelp reviews and we were not disappointed. Super cute little bistro and all of the staff were very friendly and attentive. Delicious bread with olive oil/balsamic dipping sauce. Large house "side" salad with their own homemade dressing was also very tasty. Both of us decided to try the special, which was an angel hair pasta mixed with skinny zucchini strings in a butter/wine/garlic sauce topped with chili spiced shrimp. Amazing! Had a little room left to share a scrumptious piece of tiramisu. I highly recommend this place and would definitely stop here again if we are ever in the area!

Good... soup and salad were wonderful... main courses were good, not great... my wife had the Chicken Marsala and I had the Surf and Turf... they were out of shrimp so they substituted scallops instead... scallops were cooked perfectly... steak was over cooked.... all in all it was I nice dining experience... the surrounding art was fun to look at...
Fabulous place to eat, an upscale dinner out without the upscale prices. I stayed in Crescent city CA and there was no fine dinning establishments so we ventured over the border to Oregon, 20 minutes and was thoroughly impressed. I consider myself somewhat of a foodie and I would highly recommend you check this place out. Enjoy! And your welcome.
Very good food and great service. Just be prepared to spend $25-35 per dish. Glad I went.

South Coast Inn

My husband and I stayed at this lovely bed and breakfast, The South Coast Inn, after week-long whirlwind road trip to California. Although it was raining outside, the place was very cozy and warm. We stayed in the Sea Breeze room and it was very nice with our own bathroom. Michael gave us wonderful recommendations for dinner at the Art Ally Grille. It was the best seafood dinner I've had in Oregon. Breakfast was very nice. Michael's mother, who is as sweet as sugar, came to help and they made a wonderful fritatta, and amazing scones. I still think about those scones from time to time. I would highly recommend booking a stay at this really nice B&B, and hope to come back someday in the future.
I don't think I've had a better night's sleep! Room with king-sized bed in main house is so, so, so cozy! And Sheryl, the hostess couldn't have been MORE accommodating. My boyfriend is vegan and gluten-free - and she even made him a special meal for breakfast. Loved our stay here. Definitely would stay again when passing through.
I'm sure you've heard the phrase, "home away from home." Probably about a million times, I suspect. Now, if I were to tell you that spending a night or two at the South Coast Inn is like being "home away from home," do you think that you would believe me? Or simply roll your eyes and mock me for my being so trite? Well, I don't care if you react that way. Because you haven't been here, and so you couldn't actually know that this is exactly what the South Coast Inn feels like. It's familiar and fun, in a family-friendly, come make tea in the kitchen, sit down on the living room couch, watch the sunset on the front porch sort of way. Michael will greet you each morning in the kitchen, maybe his mother will tell you tales of life in Fresno, and Sheryl will have decorated the rooms to suit whatever holiday it happens to be. For us, it was Christmas, and the trees and displays were better than at home - bigger, more elaborate, and no fruitcake or spiked eggnog in sight (but maybe they were just hidden in the office). The staircase has that comforting wooden creak, the curtains are lacy and white, the beds are fluffy and warm, and the walls are hung with pictures that would not look out of place at your Aunt Lil's, if she lived on the coast of Southwestern Oregon, which I'll bet she does not. The food is fresh and flavorful, the neighborhood is quaint and quiet despite US-101 being so close, and the surrounding garden is filled with flowers and camelias and azaleas and lots more in-between. You can while away hours on the porch, read by the fire, meet new people at the table, or just sleep long and deep in a room filled with lighthouses. Try doing that at Aunt Lil's. A home away from home, bed and breakfast style. Get used to it!

Would be a five but.... let me start with the coffee straight up dark was good! The service was fantastic! The only thing wrong was the cups were freaking hot! I think Dutch Bros employees know this as to why they give you an extra cup. Maybe Dutch Bros invest into sleeves for your cups. Other than that Dutch Bros I wish you guys were in Southern California!
We are from california and we have never been here. But on our way home from our way from gold beach we stopped here to try it because we heard good things. And I've never had a better coffee. I actually got he blended white mocha and I always get that at Starbucks but it's not the same. Starbucks is nothing compared to Dutch bros. I recommend getting a white mocha it taste exactly like white chocolate. I love this place! And will stop by at another one. And the lady was really nice.
Too artificial...not my cup of tea...

Awesome little Chinese food restaurant. We were on our way down 101 and decided to stop and check out this place. We asked a customer coming out how it was and she said it was one of the better places in the area. My husband loves Chinese food and has worked in the restaurant industry and this place went way over his expectations and mine too. Their portions were huge, the food was hot and delicious, and the service was super friendly. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because the bathrooms were hard to find. You had to go down three different hallways pass a bunch of different doors. In fact my husband and son accidentally walked into a Mexican restaurant thinking they were back at the Dragon Palace. But besides that this is an excellent restaurant with awesome food and service.
My boyfriend and I just visited Oregon. My first time in Oregon. His parents took us to Dragon Palace the night before we left and it was SO GOOD! Service was GREAT. Very kind people! I never got his name but the young Man who is a server was very funny! He joked with us and made us feel very comfortable. Food came out fast. We ordered the Family of 4 Dinner. LOTS of food. That food was SO delish! I LOVE Chinese food and I usually go to a Chinese restaurants that I can't spell in Benicia ca, but its' on First Street. This place TOPPED them! It was just Very good! You can't really find a REAL GOOD Chinese restaurant. I live in Concord now and yet to have found one. I Really enjoyed eating there and that's saying something for Brooking Oregon. Next biggest food place there was Dairy Queen. So I you ever go to Brookings OR You should def go to Dragon palace.
Just an average Chinese restaurant ....nothing outstanding ...not my first or second choice for Chinese food....

Seated fairly fast. Hot food, a bit bland - 2 of our group thought it was the best, 2 thought it was ok. We will return. Prices are good, nice people too.
It was good to return to the restaurant formerly known as Rubio's (since the 1970's). Pancho's seems to have kept almost everything as it was, which is good! The service was great. The food, while, its own brand of Mexican, is also quite good. I like the chili relleno, enchilada and taco combo which has held the same price since forever. The salsa had changed slightly, but when I asked for a hotter offering, I was VERY pleased with the habanero salsa. The only aspect I would like to see changed would be the taco shells, but it's Brookings and I am happy it continues to be there!
Yummy! I would suggest the Carne Asada tacos. They were fabulous.

Passing thru town looking for a value lunch. Got it! Adequate portions, fresh and tasty. Clean restrooms and quiet, modest dining room.
Been by this place on numerous occasions and finally decided to stop, really wish I would have kept on passing by. First, our waitress was very, very rude. I really can't explain it, she was very distracted, barely spoke, and had a major attitude. Never received refills on drinks which I desperately needed after ordering the food. Secondly, ordered Mongolian Beef. I don't know if the cook was having a bad day or what, but my Mongolian Beef was an easy 80% onions!!! This is no exaggeration!!! I asked our waitress if my order usually had that many onions and she just giggled and said, "You know that Mongolian Beef has onion in it right". You know I'll never be back to your establishment again right!!!
This place has incredibly tasty food, a WIDE selection, and good prices for what you get. Service is excellent and the people friendly. The food is definitely 5 stars. Try the #6 dinner special with the beef. That along with the chow mein is heavenly. My only sadness comes from their to-go orders, where they don't include the soup (which they do include for sit-down orders). Their soup is exceptional ! I wish they would reconsider including it in their to-go orders, I'd probably be eating their to-go orders 5 times a week. A small business that Brookings and the gold coast can be most proud of ! (P.S. I live in Oregon and Arizona, so I am a Brookings local.)

Chan’s Restaurant

Reviews:
My family goes to Chan's regularly. We live 30 minutes away and make the drive when we feel like going out. Food is always fresh and tasty. The prices are great also. Everything is good but my favorite is the sweet and sour pork. The sauce is put on at the last second so the breading doesn't have a chance to get soggy like other places do. I have never had a bad meal there. The waitresses are always very friendly so that makes the dining experience even better. I would say the only bad thing about this place is they need an update on their decor. But that won't stop me from going there! By far my favorite restaurant when I want some comfort food.
Not impressed in three significant ways: First they screwed up our phone order. My assistant coach and I ordered two of the same thing and it was definitely "General Tso's" I heard her say on the phone not the Sweet & Sour that we got. Second, it wasn't good. The fried rice was blah, the fried prawns too much batter, and the Sweet & Sour was runny and not very tasty (if it had been good I would totally forgiven the order being wrong). Third, it stayed with me all night and I thought at one point it was going to come back. Not good. This was the first meal we had in Brookings and the town was 0 for 1.
chan's hubby and i stopped for dinner at chan's because of the high ratings on the web. the hot and sour soup raised our hopes for the meal to come, since it was not bad at all. :) however, neither of us could understand what all the hype is about. we found the meals to be tasteless and simply awful. my garlic beef, had absolutely no flavor of garlic in it. the sauce over my beef tasted very much the same as the sauce on hubby's mongolian beef plate. the mongolian beef dish was unlike any i had ever seen or tasted. it had not snow peas, but green peas in it. there was so much sauce smothering the beef, mushrooms, onions, and water chestnuts. there was an overabundance of miniature corn pieces. it was impossible to eat from the plate without the sauce running over the edge of the dish. to me, across the table, it looked like slop on a plate. this sauce was also tasteless. pieces of beef were not cut into bite-size pieces - there was one huge piece which should have been 4 smaller pieces, but was all still connected together. yuck!
