we'd heard that dee-ann's tea room cafe was good. so we knew we had to try it, as we're looking for a good breakfast place. i don't eat bread or potatoes or anything sweet, and request fruit instead. well, hubby ordered ham and cheese omelette with potatoes and toast. the ham and cheese omelette was alright, but the ham wasn't really good tasting. the much overly done potatoes were 'just potatoes,' no seasoning, nothing. toast was fine. i told the server i wouldn't want potatoes or toast with my order, and asked if they had fresh fruit. the only fruit on hand that morning, was fresh white peaches, but that would be one dollar extra. really?? i asked again if that was the only fruit available, yes, fresh white peaches with sugar. well, i opted out of that sugary 'deal.' my omelette was barely warm when i got it, even though, hubby's was hot. three-quarters of the way through our meal, the server finally asked if everything was alright. when i mentioned that the omelette was barely hot, she asked if i wanted it reheated in the microwave. you're kidding me, right? the microwave-prepared omelette was already rubbery, and i told her no. the bill came, with no adjustment to the price of my meal. okay, that did it. so, our search goes on for a good, maybe even really good breakfast place.

We had breakfast there and it was good. The only this was I had a diet coke and I had her fill me up when she was at our table even if it wasn't empty get to save her a trip. I had her add more ice. Then on my 4th refill they had to charge me for another one. So I had maybe 1 real refill. Even when the glass was just empty once. I know soda is very cheap for the restaurant. We come to Brookings every year and I don't think I will be back. I was very disappointed. So instead of just giving me one more refill, they are going to be out $50.00 every time I come in. So you do the math!!

Had chicken salad that was bad... Dry, tough chicken, soggy rice noodle, too much dressing, whole thing rather disgusting and expensive. Cute place, nice people but bad food.

Excellent breakfast! Highly recommend. It was clear that it was a favorite of the locals.

I came to Dee-Ann's Tea Room for breakfast because I am traveling w/ my dog and son and they had outdoor seating. It was extremely hot outside (upper 80's in the AM) so I couldn't leave my dog in the car. I ordered an omelet that was seasoned and cooked to perfection as well as some fantastic potatoes and the best biscuit I have ever had. I did see someone had mentioned that the ham in his omelet wasn't great but I thought the seasoning made up for that. My son ordered cream of wheat and sausage. The sausage links were huge and fantastic! The only reason I am giving them 4 stars is because I think they should put umbrellas outside over the tables. I'm from Oregon and I realize it isn't always hot but the umbrellas would be an added bonus.

Our favorite place to have breakfast when we visit Brookings. The waffles with fresh fruit are fabulous. The homemade whipped cream is the best! The owner and staff make you feel at home. Highly recommended!

Love this place! Been going to The Tea Room for years. Their pies are melt in your mouth, to die for!! Love the Ginger Chicken Salad and usually get that when I go but their sandwiches and soups are also delicious. My daughter loves the tea pot lined walls.

Among the bits of advice given to us upon moving to Brookings-Harbor, having pie at the Tea Room was suggested by almost everyone.....Such a cute place decorated with hundreds of tea pots. The pie was outstanding although if you want to purchase an entire pie, you have to let them know a day in advance. The service was beyond friendly and lunch was pretty good. We usually see someone we know here each time we visit. A total locals hangout that always seems to be busy. One small quibble... If you're going to call your business a "tea room", shouldn't you sell varieties of loose tea? I was planning on bringing some home until I realized they don't sell it. Yet another outstanding business in Brookings-Harbor that we frequent often.

Service was sub par. Staff was MIA throughout the meal, although the restaurant only had a handful of people in for breakfast. Breakfast was standard eggs and potatoes. Nothing special, although the waffle was well prepared and fresh. They charged significantly extra for strawberries to be added to the waffle (as much as a second meal!). I wasn't told about the charge until I got my check. All in all, a pretty disappointing experience.

American, Breakfast and Brunch. AND the worlds best homemade pies. This Restaurant was formerly known as The Tea Room . However, it was sold and re-opened as Dee-Ann's Tea Room - Come in a take a guess at the number of teapots that line the rooms. Ann and Morris bought their favorite restaurant so that it would be here when they come for the summer months. Dee, the Manager, ran the place before it was closed in June of 2012 and now runs it as part owner. - It was only closed for a couple of months until Ann and Morris discovered it was available. Dee Ann's Tea Room is open for breakfast and lunch - No grill so no pancakes but the best waffles in town. Eggs, Hot cereal, Lunch Specials - two homemade soups a day AND still the best pies in town. Dee makes all the soup and pies and pie crusts from scratch and she also makes the largest and best cinnamon buns, with frosting. We moved to Brookings July of 2012 - Dee-Ann's Tea Room re-opened August 13, 2012. We are now considered locals and Tea Room regulars - We can be found, at least twice a week having breakfast with Dee, Sue, Dawn and all the others.

I have been eating breakfast with my grandparents Dick & Polly Keusink at the Tea Room since I was born... So many memories. THE SERVICE: The staff especially Dawn and Dee are so wonderful and really care about their customers. I have a picture of Dee with my niece as she is eating this huge hot chocolate with tons of whip cream that I keep on my mantle. So precious! THE FOOD: I have been loving the cinnamon rolls since i was a little girl. Also the nut rolls. I like the breakfast sandwiches now. Ham, egg and cheese on a homemade biscuit. The ham is thick sliced and so yummy. Egg perfectly cooked over easy. Just the right amount of cheese. The waffles are awesome and they always have fresh seasonal fruit, usually peaches this time of year or strawberries in the winter to go on top. The cottage fries are also deliciously crunchy. I know for lunch a local favorite is the chinese chicken salad and the stuffed tomato. Yum I am getting hungry is it time for lunch? THE AMBIANCE: SO many tea pots, are kind of cute but not my cup of tea. bahaha sorry about that I couldn't resist. No but really it is not super fancy but it is clean and there are lots of tables. Bottom Line: This is a Brookings institution. One of those places that people (well my grandparents and the Ham Radio Club) have been coming to for 50 years. If you live or visit Brookings and you don't try it, don't come back or move. But seriously please support Dee and this local business.

The Tea Room is one block off the main street that runs through town, and it's worth the visit. All the food is cooked from scratch, every morning (that's why they are closed by 2). The menu is familiar, and comforting. Reminds me of visiting my grandma and being served a sandwich and piece of fresh apple pie. The service is friendly...and they are happy to answer any questions about who/how/where of the area. The owners/staff loves what they do, and the regulars love them. Many of the teapots in the 1,000+ collection were customer gifts accumulated over two decades. Come "home" to The Tea Room.

I was showing some friends from Maryland our beautiful Oregon coast and we happened on to this jewel of a shop. It was close to closing time (2:00 on a weekday) but the owners were friendly and generous in welcoming us in. My friends had sandwiches (a Reuben that was too large for him to finish! and a corned beef on rye with lots of thinly sliced beef) but my ginger chicken salad with their homemade ginger dressing and toasted sliced almonds was simply delicious! It was a delightful meal with friendly, attentive service. I'll go back when I find myself down the coast!

I had a basic American breakfast of omelette potatoes and toast nothing to complain about however the breakfast aside, teapot collection is amazing! I think it's worth it just to see the more 1300 teapots on display. The restaurant is nice staff is friendly, and it's clean. Owned by senior citizens and very old school.

My boyfriend and I tried the Tea Room for lunch. I would compare our meal to hospital food. The chicken noodle soup should have been called chicken broth and noodle soup. The broth was so salty, it was barely edible. The chili dog had a small scoop of chili and a pinch of chedder cheese. Although the hot dog was of good quality the dog and the chili were cold when it arrived at the table so we sent it back to be reheated in the microwave - yum! My $8.00 turkey and swiss sandwich was tasteless. The turkey and cheese looked like a layered pale substance between two pieces of fake wheat bread. I expected some sliced roasted turkey but got some pressed and formed cheap lunch meat. I wouldn't doubt the swiss cheese was a processed cheese food. The green side salad was head lettuce with a few shreds of carrot with Italian dressing - no balsamic vinegarette at this joint. I was equally unimpressed by the coconut cream pie that my boyfriend and I split. The whip cream tasted like cool whip, the cream custard tasted like it came out of a box and the pie crust most likely came from the freezer. If you don't care about food quality, like to look at tea pots and want to sit around listening to seniors gossip, than this is the place for you. Service was fair, prices were fair but that's not enough to bring this couple back.

Oh my goodness- 1000+ teapots!!! The service was lovely- oh so friendly. My Mom and I almost didn't stay just because we had to be in Gold Beach in an hr and were looking for a to-go operation but I am SO glad we did. A cute little place, we both had smoothies, my mom had the oatmeal and I had a nut roll- which had just come out of the oven and was DELICIOUS. I hail from NYC and I'd say its diner comparable with a home town feel and cute backwoods decor. Loved it, would definitely visit again because I'm sure its the best place in Brookings and the people were so friendly.

Food is okay... service as with just about every place I have experiened in Brookings is very friendly... Pie however... OMG the pies are to die for. All of their pies are homemade and well after a few bites I just thought I had died and gone to pie heaven

The ambience is nothing special, but who cares when the food is fantastic. Incredible breakfasts!! Our second day in a row for breakfast. Yesterday spinach and cheese quiche. Today incredible fresh white peach waffle with even tastier fresh homemade whipped cream. Hubby's sausage was delicious and I don't like sausage! And the best jam for your generously buttered toast. Returning tomorrow for the award winning cinnamon roll and pecan roll on Thursday. One block off the 101 turn right on Oak. Don't miss it!
