The food here is only ok. Dishes tend to be on the bland side.

DO NOT JUDGE THIS PLACE BY THE EXTERIOR! With a strong 4 star rating on yelp, we came here for my son's Chinese food craving. However, when we saw the business from the street and then pulled into the parking lot, we started having second thoughts. I am so glad we ended up going inside anyway. All of us had the sweet and sour chicken and fried rice with our meals. The sweet and sour sauce was definitely made in house. The color was a bit different and it had a very fresh, unique taste. The flavor of the ginger really came through in the sauce. The rice was also great. I loved that they didn't have tons of miscellaneous junk in friend rice as most places do. The rice was moist and well flavored. We also really enjoyed our main dishes. The portions were good sizes and the prices were reasonable. The waiter was prompt and efficient. We were all very happy with our food but I did insist on leaving immediately when a gentleman who smelled like rotten fish-guts sat down in the booth next to us I was barely able to keep myself from vomiting so there was no way I was going to be able to finish eating. That is not the fault of the establishment however and they brought us boxes for the food and the check right away. If you are craving Chinese in Astoria, I would recommend giving this place a try!

I'd rate the place 2.5 stars but it wouldn't let me give a half. Restaurant was super cheap! $20 for 3 people with leftovers for days. Recommend splitting a dish for sure and probably 3 ways. The owners haven't raised the food prices for 30 years I bet. Atmosphere and decor was typical for American Chinese restaurants. Clean and tidy. Service was great. Food was so so. Ordered the beef chowmein, combo-fried shrimp with almond chicken and BBQ pork, combo- white rice, orange chicken and sesame chicken. Wouldn't recommend the sesame chicken as it has no sauce and is pretty bland and dry. Almond chicken was the favorite of the family. My 11 yo found the orange chicken too spicy to eat but I enjoyed it. BBQ pork was dry. My 14yo gave the beef chowmein a 3 star rating. (I didn't try it).

Reviews for this restaurant are good but I've been reluctant to stop in because on the outside it looks a little sketchy. However, finally decided to try it for lunch and was pleasantly surprised at the interior. A little worn but actually fairly nice inside. Clean, spacious, comfortable booths. I ordered the Schezuan beef and it was wonderful! Extremely flavorful and a large serving. Came with a good, hearty hot and sour soup, rice and a spring roll. Too much food for a lunch price! Service was good and it wasn't crowded. A little difficult to get in and out of the parking lot but you do what you have to. Lol Definitely on our list of preferred lunch places!

I've been around the world and this is my favorite Chinese restaurant. My grandfather used to take me here when I was a child. Not sure if it has been the same owners or not but it's always been good. The best BBQ Pork Lo-Mein. Almost worth driving from Seattle for but definitely from Long Beach or Seaside.

A good down to earth chinese restaurant where the portions are HUGE!! Nothing fancy but after a day of hiking it hit the perfect spot!

Super fast service! The food was absolutely delicious, the portions were astronomically large. Literally the fastest service ever. It took 3 minutes for our main course to come out. You get soup, water, tea, and an entree, with fried rice, General Tso's chicken, spring roll and wantons. All for $6.50. Worth it. Every penny. Lunch special, where else can 2 grown adults eat for $11.70 with take away leftovers.

The Hong Kong noodles were fantastic. Friendly service. Would definitely eat here again.

Fast and friendly service. Food came out within five minutes of ordering. Only problem with that is, you know most of the food is pre-made. For example, the chicken that is used in the general tso's chicken has already been cooked and cooled in it's batter. When they return it to the hot wok and add the General tso's sauce, it makes like a thin hard candy coating on the outside and you still have soggy batter in the middle. The flavor was all there but the execution was not. Big portions

Stopped in out of the blue one day, as we were in town visiting family. The girls working here were so sweet and our food came out promptly. We ordered the lunch specials and seriously there was so much food, we were able to make several meals out of it with our left overs. I would definitely recommend the Chinese food here. So yummy.

This place is an absolute hidden gem! Not too far from seaside, where we stayed, Hong Kong had amazing food at a great price! I had the almond chicken, sesame chicken, fried rice, and pork chow mein! Everything was delicious and given at very generous portions! Awesome find for some Chinese down at the coast!

Reasonable prices for decent Chinese food, large portions with seemingly fresh vegetables and the prices are very reasonable, especially for Astoria. I would definitely stop here again if I had a craving for a large meal of above average Chinese food.

This place is the greatest place for Chinese food in Astoria. I tried the potsticker and egg flower soup that was the bomb. This place is very friendly and they have a bar which produces great beer and other alcoholic beverages. They serve up a mean Sherley temple.

My goto place for good Chinese food in the area. Try the potstickers and chow fun beef.

I really don't understand why this place is rated low. They have the best crab puffs and pot stickers you will ever have in your whole life. Everything is CHEAP and the portions are huge. I always order kung pao chicken and it is also great.

I'm not sure if my rating was too high or not. Place was clean, that was good. Service was okay, that was good for a Chinese restaurant. Food was NOT good. Greasy and lack of taste. Regret eating there. Didn't know there were other Chinese restaurants in the area. Should have spent more time looking.

Searching around this small town that has now 4 Chinese food restaurants in town, this one is by far my favorite go-to place for Chinese. Coming here once with my mom got me addicted. The food is reasonably priced and the serving they give you is worth more than you pay. The one problem sometimes is the long wait for your order, but it's well worth it.

Good Chinese food. Very generous portions at a great price too. My wife and I got two items from the family style menu and had plenty to take home. We will definitely come here again.

This place is amazing. Open from 11-11, which if you like to have supper on the Oregon Coast is a plus, since most places roll up at dusk it seems. Great food, cheapest prices around. Do the build your own combo which will feed you and leave enough for a second meal the next day. Family run and very attentive service. We are now regulars and will get Chinese from no other places. All portions are huge, fresh, and even the fried items aren't greasy. We will drive from Manzanita to grab dinner here if that says how worth it the experience is. Their lounge seems to draw a big crowd as well. I see many regulars both dining and in the lounge, so that says something as well.

First time eating here as we passed through town. Excellent prices and the food is just as good. A lot of food for the price and quick service! The Hot and sour soup was really good. The Sesame chicken and the Heneral Tso's chicken were excellent! Would recommend to anyone in the area or just passing through!

This place is east of the downtown area. One of a few restaurants in the area that offers a chow fun dish. I stopped here for lunch and ordered the chicken chow fun which comes with onions and bean sprouts. The service was good and so was the food. The only problem I had with the food is the chow fun noodles which were not as good (wide fresh etc) as other chow fun noodles I've had. Otherwise, I would probably go back.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
