So pleased with my first experience here! Very friendly crew. Great dinner, I had the Alfredo with curry rice soup side and there fresh delicious bread all made in house! Oh yeah and a local IPA :) They have To-Go six packs of local & domestic beers!!!!! This is a MUST SEE for all you PCT hikers out there! They have lodging , breakfast , lunch , dinner , a take one - leave one box for hikers , access to a computer with internet , a donation based movie library , a mini drugstore (shampoo sunscreen toothpaste) I recommend this wonderful little hidden gem to everyone out there who appreciates great food, atmosphere & people! I almost left then turned around sat back down and ordered a piece of pecan pie with a side of ice cream !!! Really really good! AND one of the wonderful cooks gave me my first sautéed freshly picked lions mane mushroom! ( made my eyes roll back into my head ) I look forward to my next visit! ( breakfast )

Off Hwy 66 southeast of Ashland,... rooms are a little dated, and need renovating, but clean and comfortable. Friendly personnel. Dinner was excellent,... good food and great service! Dogs are accommodated on the outside deck where a neighbor's dog will generally come by and say "hello".

Held our wedding here and stayed for a whole week in a cabin. What a great experience, we loved the peaceful cabins, great views, and jacuzzi tubs. We highly recommend them for weddings or a simple mountain getaway. We will be going back.

We went to another dinner place close by which was closed and hence came to Green Springs in.. What a nice local joint with live music playing while you eat yummy Italian and American food. The servers were awesome and super friendly.. The musicians/singer/guitarists were extremely friendly and suggested us places to visit during our trip:) would really recommend this place for veggie options!

This place is amazing! It has a great menu and the prices are incredibly fair, you'll pay more in Ashalnd. This has just become my favorite spot.

Green Springs Inn has changed hands a couple of times in the past five years but the food has remained above average. We stopped for lunch after a trip into the forest for Xmas greens. The home fries with the breakfast were very good, firm and not oily. The in-house-made English muffin was excellent, tasting somewhere between a crumpet and an English muffin. The rhubarb pie was great: just enough tartness to made a perfect companion to the vanilla ice-cream. The portions are large. This is a popular place, especially for motorcyclists who may be taking the loop connecting Highway 66 with Dead Indian Memorial Rd. or traveling between Ashland and Klamath Falls.

Loved GSI!!! Warm night, ate outside, had a great Cobb Salad followed up by a homemade piece of blueberry pie with vanilla ice cream - way grubs. Service is a little slow, but, one has to consider the fact that: 1. you are in the friggin woods 2. you aren't eating at Chez Panisse Definitely a great destination if in the area, not as though you have any real choices. Ya feel me?

Stopped off for one evening on the way to Portland and had a great time. The difficult drive it totally worth it. The inn is surrounded by beautiful forest, everyone who works there is really friendly and welcoming. The rooms are comfortable, the food is great. Will definitely be visiting again.

I was searching for any place to eat. I was in the middle of nowhere and very hungry. Wow did I luck out! This place is a gem. I ordered a free range sirloin power salad. The steak was cooked perfectly, and the salad was huge. Very tasty. Never expected this.

Liked the people a lot and was exactly the kind of place we wanted to be. Good morning coffee in mugs that weren't too big (coffee gets cold) but could wrap my hands around. All the food needed salt, which is why there are salt cellars. Easy fix. Pancakes were tangy as described, but not big and fluffy if that's what you like. My omelet was stuffed with spinach and tomatoes and bacon, too big to finish, but I tried. Best side of bacon I've seen in a while. Thick cut and crisp. We took a slice of key lime pie to go. There are about 10 or so varieties on hand. Worth the trek from Ashland for new views and total change of scene. Cabins available l rent, made from wood already down on property. (We dined, didn't stay but may on another trip). Oh yeah: electric car charger (old gas pump cleverly converted) and big bike rack out front. Bring a sweater -- freezing inside.

Well I picked this on price, it was a great deal via Expedia. When driving out there I thought oh my god where am I going as it was further out from Ashland than I thought. Boy am I glad I went, it is old world and brilliant to boot. The folks are super nice, the food they cook is fresh and tasty and the room I had super clean and perfect. Getting away from it all here is perfect. Will definitely plan on staying again. A little addition - just had breakfast. Huge and delicious.

We were riding by this place and spur of the moment decided to take a break from the bike and have a bite to eat. Good call! The staff is really nice and mellow, especially when we wound up waiting out a thunderstorm and rain that we didn't want to ride through. One of our servers was a rather young man that was personable and mature beyond his years. Had their tri tip sandwich special and they graciously added grilled onions and cheese upon request and it was fab! My BF had it without any add ons and liked it too. Split a huge chocolate chip cookie served warm with ice cream; yum. Good beer and wine selection. Even in the rain we sat on the patio and it's a beautiful view out in the woods.

NOTE: This review is specific to the restaurant. I did use any of the accommodations at the Green Spring Inn. This was quite the surprising find! Know that there are not a huge number of food options on the trip from Ashland OR to Klamath Falls, and this is one of them. When the Pinehurst Inn turned up closed, my wife & I back-tracked 6 miles to the Green Springs Inn. They do have a full bar here, as well as a selection of wines and northwest craft beers. We opted for sharing a couple of appetizers rather than full meals, so here is the skinny. Zucchini Chips - AMAZING! These were breaded and quick-fried, and wonderful! It is easy to over-cook a vegetable prepared in this way, turning it into mush - this was NOT the case with these! Great breading, and good texture in the squash. These came with a dish of what seemed like home-made ranch dressing - the dressing was great, but the squash was so good, it didn't need it! Asian Lettuce Cups - Good! Seared chicken breast nuggets with a light teriyaki glaze, served on green lettuce with a ginger sauce on the side. These were a tasty, solidly done appetizer, that hit the spot. The final appetizer we had was an off-menu special of cajun pork sliders. We had these less-bun, and they were pork slices covered with a cajun-spiced onion relish and cheese. These were GREAT! We were the first folks to try them that day, and they were excellent. Overall I solidly recommend stopping here if you are making the drive between these two towns!

We come here often for food breaks during motorcycle rides as it's a great restaurant with fantastic, huge breakfasts (and lunch) at a steal! There is ample seating either outside on the porch overlooking the woods (very tranquil and scenic), or inside at the snack counter or at a table. Service is always quick and friendly, and they are quick with coffee refills, which is key when out for breakfast! Also, the coffee here is strong, which I like. It does get crowded on weekends due to the many motorcyclists and bikers that frequent that area for weekend rides, but there are many families there too. I've never once had to wait for a table. I have tried so many things on their menu and have never been disappointed although I have never tried dinner here, just breakfast and lunch. Be careful though as this is the kind of meal that will fill you up for the entire day-- very large portions. There are many vegetarian options that are offered that are excellent and also very filling. The breakfast potatoes are really good, the omelets are huge and fresh, and sausage and bacon are also top-notch. Just try avoiding those huge ice cinnamon buns! I dare you. YUM!

We must have come on an off day. It was raining/slushing pretty hard outside and the football game was on and it was a holiday weekend. But it just wasn't very...tasty. My husband and I really wanted to love this place. We were coming over the pass and talking about finding some food when out of nowhere this place appears. It looked so charming and inviting from the outside that we had to try it. They have a huge parking area that was covered with ice and big piles of snow. We navigated the truck and trailer through the maze and found a good spot at the end of the lot. We laughed our way through the parking lot, slipping and sliding on the ice and rushed into the building to dry ourselves from the rain. We were greeted by a friendly older gentleman who seated us at a nice table near the bar. The waitress was very attentive and knew about everything on the menu. She was quick with suggestions and also let me try one of the wines before ordering it. The soup was a Creamy Chicken Noodle that was good. Big chunks of chicken, nice flavor, but the noodles were lost as kind of a mush additive, which is okay by me as long as it tastes good, which it did. The salad had lots of toppings, but was sparse on the lettuce - another bonus considering I'm not a huge fan of lettuce, but really like black olives. The blue cheese dressing wasn't bad. My husband had the Agate Flats omelette with hash browns, toast, and jam. It was cold and he described the taste as "commercial." I had the French Dip. The au jus was my favorite part of the sandwich with really nice flavor, second only to the roll. The meat was tender, but had virtually no flavor. Not sure how that happened, but I finished half and couldn't eat the rest. It just didn't taste...anything. I tried their house Cabernet and Syrah. The Cab was good and a value for $5, but the Syrah was very heavy and I didn't even finish the tasting glass. Like I said, we really wanted to like this charming place, but the food just wasn't very good. Maybe it was simply an off day.

I went to lunch there today and of course it's in a beautiful area after a nice drive up the hill. I had a beer on tap and a very good bleu cheese burger with fries cooked crispily just like I ordered (very rare for them to get it right). Service was nice, not overly great but friendly. I'd go there if it was convenient but maybe wouldn't drive up expressly for the food.

One of our favorite places to get away and relax. Beautiful cabins equipped with everything you will need. Beds are comfy, cabins large and clean. Love owner and staff, they treat you like family. We put on our snow gear , stop to pick up wine, cheese, etc and enjoy the pretty drive. We arrive to a warm cabin with the lights on and a cozy fire already going for us. We then go to the restaurant for a fabulous meal and wine where we're greeted like old friends. We love coming for quiet, romantic weekends but also for fun family trips where there are no distractions. Play cards and games all nigh,go on hikes, cook together and travel to near by lakes!

The lovely woman who would become my wife four months later picked this place on our first road trip (hell, our first vacation) together. No idea what to expect, but I knew she wasn't digging the prospect of a ten-hour car ride to Portland from the Bay Area, enamored of me as she might have been. Don't blame her. So, we take off four days after Christmas--without chains, because we're risk-takers like that--and hit Ashland sometime around 9 p.m. No snow. Nice. Actually, not that nice. We head off the highway towards Green Springs Inn, and make our way up the hill. Suddenly, the snow hits us; not so much falling as hurtling towards us straight-on. Uh-oh. Well, being the manly man I am, I charge ahead, attempting to hide the lump in my throat, and hoping that the 3-season tires I have on the car somehow include winter as part of the package. We trudge along, uphill, for some 20+ miles or so, with nothing in sight save one car heading the opposite direction. I silently hope that our budding three-week romance doesn't end at the bottom of a hill somewhere in the lower Cascades. Then, suddenly, a dim light appears on the horizon, teasing us with its siren song of food, drink, and shelter. We hightail it as fast as we can, somewhere in the area of 15-20 mph, and soon find ourselves inside the restaurant, with steaks for the sir and chicken marsala for the missus on the way, along with some beer and wine and a most welcome fire on the hearth. Screw the 9:30 reservations in Ashland: there's no way we're chancing a trip down. The meal alone was enough to warrant a 4-star rating. The cozy cabin, with fireplace and hot tub, not to mention the picturesque winter scene, make this a 5. We'll be here again for New Year's.

What a surprise! On a recent trip to Ashland, we took a break from the plays and went fly fishing on the Klamath. On the way back to town -- Green Springs is about 17 miles east of Ashland -- we stopped for a bite. It was a shock to find such good food, excellent ingredients and super-nice service so off the beaten track. I overheard about, but hadn't ordered, the mushroom burger made, unfortunately, with the last of that day's morels. All the bread and buns are homemade, as is some fine sweet and hot mustard. A potato-bacon-beer-cheddar chowder was thick and delicious. The coffee is Pete's and the beef all-grass fed according to the postings. And the pies, which we were too full to eat, looked fantastic. I'm very food critical and this was unexpected and all the more fantastic for it. Yum.

On a scale of one to five, this is a twelve, a died-and-gone-to-heaven inn in a beautiful location, well worth the windy road up! We've had two separate 4-night visits, and both times everything was perfect. The food is wonderful and the cabin is fantastic - we loved the big outdoor soaker tub (which we prefer to a hot tub). The room layout is amazing - everything makes sense with a really creative and efficient use of space. That the cabins are built from the trees taken down and are powered by solar energy makes it even better. The hosts couldn't have been more thoughtful. They arranged a TV for us so we could watch a DVD, gave us good suggestions on nearby day trips, and in general their whole philosophy seemed to be "We'll say yes to whatever you ask, and then figure out how to make that happen". A truly awesome place!

I just wish I could have stayed longer! :( If you're not used to driving on mountainous terrain and curvy, uphill roads then you may want to prepare yourself. This place is about 20 miles from Ashland, Oregon itself. That's the best part though because you're up in the wilderness, and at night it's pitch dark and super quiet. It was the best sleep I've ever had :-) The food that is offered at the restaurant is super good too! I had a chicken breast sandwich for dinner and it was a nice sized sandwich. It had a good amount of veggies and they had a great selection of beers! WHOO HOO!! Oh and when we were going to pay for 4 beers to take to our room, our waiter was kind enough to say "you guys might as well get 6 and i'll charge it as a six-pack, because those 4 beers will cost you about the same as a six-pack" WHOO HOO!! Again!! The bed was large and super comfy and at first I freaked out that there was no TV, but then I said to myself "well, you're up in the mountains and away from civilization, TOO BAD". It was actually good to turn on the radio and enjoy a beer in the dark, cool forest and listening to sounds of the wild. Now, put a price on THAT! The jacuzzi was super cool too! It feels like people may be watching because there's a window by the jacuzzi, but I don't think anyone was watching, and if they were, well, they probably closed their eyes! Our last day, I had the sourdough pancakes with real maple syrup. Such an amazing idea! SOURDOUGH pancakes! I fell in love with them and their coffee was very tasty as well. I was sad to leave Green Springs Inn so soon but I know that I will be back one day. PS: Come here during daylight because the drive up, or down, may be a bit scary in the dark. PSS: The pies are great! PSSS: Watch out for the deer on the road! We almost hit a deer! OH dear!

My lovely wife and I just spent five enjoyable days at the Green Springs Inn. We stayed in room 2 of the lodge and pretty much had the lodge to ourselves in the off season. The lodge was quiet, reasonably spacious and the bed was superbly comfortable. A great place to relax. Our dog Eliza enjoyed the spacious grounds. Our room had an enclosed porch with a hot tub which worked well even if it was a bit chill outside. The staff was friendly. The food was exceptionally good for a place in the middle of nowhere. The sour dough pancakes were a taste treat I wouldn't expect. The staff opened a fresh bottle of wine for my wife when the glass she ordered wasn't quite right. We will definitely return for another relaxing stay.

My husband found this on the Internet for my birthday. We go to Ashland a lot so thought we would try the cabins. Absolutely LOVE Green Springs Inn and will be back. The cabin was an absolute delight. No TV, but there is wifi so we watched Netflix on the iPads. We ate every meal at the restaurant, OMG, I had to ask where they could find such wonderful cooks clear out there. She laughed and said that there is not a lot to do out there so they cook. Great people, great food, excellent place and can hardly wait to go back.

Charming retreat with a great Innkeeper! My husband and I stayed here a night on our drive down from Seattle to San Francisco. We used airbnb to find and book the room in December. The Inn is a little off the beaten path, but its a nice retreat outside of the bigger city. The rooms are comfortable, clean and they even provide a few magazines and board games. We enjoyed dinner at the restaurant and were extremely happy with our choices. The nachos are delicious and shouldn't be missed. While we waited for dinner we were able to meet the proprietor who was extremely friendly and a very genuine person. He even invited us to a community party they were having in their conference facility. They also allow pets, several of the rooms have hot tubs and there are a few cabins available with kitchens.

My husband and I just returned from a wonderful trip to Seattle. On our way back we stopped at the Green Springs Inn. It was a bit of a drive to get there, but it was well worth it. Our room was very nice, and I loved the extras that they provided, like the doggie bag for our Jack Russell. The doggie bag had dog biscuits, doggie towels, doggie bags, a bed, and blankets. For us, there was a hot tub on the back porch, extra towels, rubber ducks, magazines, and games to play. We felt right at home, and so did our little dog. In the morning we walked out our door and there were deer grazing within eye sight. It is a beautiful place to stay if you enjoy nature. We were not expecting it, but the restaurant was also very good. The staff was very friendly, the music at night was great, and the food was excellent! We will definitely make it a point to return again, and to recommend the Green Springs Inn to friends.

Awesome nachos! That's not what I was expecting as I went into the restraint of this inn located about 20 miles east of downtown Ashland. Later in the night we had the mushroom appetizer with toasted bread and it was also very good. Dessert was rhubarb pie with ice cream - very good! Don't show up too late because they close at 8:00. For dinner and breakfast we saw the same people inside eating and working. My favorite was the owner's black lab who curls up in the corner and looks longingly for someone to play with him and his tennis ball. As for the accommodations, we had a queen room with a large tub and were very impressed. The furniture in the room is basically from Ikea, but it's all tasteful and there's a nice sense of crispness to it all. Having the tub looking out into the snowy woods was very worth the additional $20. A very positive experience with no negatives to state. Looking forward to going back when it thaws a bit and exploring some of the nearby country on foot.

When we told our car salesman that we were taking a trip to Ashland, he told us we absolutely had to try Green Springs Inn for at least one meal because he loved it. He told us everything was fresh and local and amazingly delicious. Well, we looked at the menu and decided to go for it. We took the beautiful drive 18 miles up the mountain from the town and were really excited to have lunch at the Green Springs Inn. When we walked in, the only customers were 3 men sitting at a table. We stood awkwardly for a minute, waiting for the one server to tell us if we could seat ourselves or if she wanted us in a certain spot. She was preoccupied with pouring their drinks, so we ended up seating ourselves and watching her, waiting to be acknowledged. She eventually turned around and was startled we were there. She then took their orders, asking many questions while we waited for our menus. It literally took 10 minutes for us to be given 2 menus, and there was only one other table of people in the place! If we had been in town, we would have walked out. I ordered a salmon sandwich, a salad, and a beer. I had to tell the server my age because she couldn't figure out the math on my license. My fiance ordered the special, a spicy french dip with soup. She brought out my salad, but she forgot his soup. We would have said something, but she was acting rather flustered by the 3 more people at one table who had walked in after us. My salad had canned olives, beans, and chickpeas on it, but the ranch dressing on the salad was fantastic. And I luckily put it to the side of my plate when I finished my salad, because my salmon sandwich came with no condiments on it. I was offered Heinz ketchup or yellow mustard for it. I was much happier with the rest of my ranch dressing poured over it. My fiance liked his sandwich and soup (when she eventually realized after bringing our entrees that she had forgotten it), but he agreed it wasn't a sandwich worth the drive by any means. We had also been told by the car salesman the pie was homemade by a lady across the street, so we each ordered a slice. It was decent, but I prefer my pie a little more baked and crisper. It was very light and flaky. While we were there, the cook sang loudly to the radio and our server, who never did tell us her name, did a number of things that didn't seem very efficient. She clearly hasn't found her rhythm as a server and has to stop and think about everything she does. We thought she may be new, but if that's the case, she shouldn't have been the only server in the place. This place really suffered from the service. It was so distracting and the quality of food couldn't make up for it.

I'm surprised by all the good ratings for this restaurant and wonder if we just came on an off day. We were ignored by our server, and our water glasses were left unfilled for the duration of dinner. Food was mediocre and overpriced.

We picked Green Springs on the fly as a road trip stop over. We called to reserve a room about an hour out, the person on the phone offered to have the restaurant prepare dinner for us so food would be waiting when we arrived. Dinner was excellent & the room super comfortable. The staff were beyond friendly & very accommodating. We highly recommend Green Springs Inn. PS killer oatmeal raisin cookies.

We had an outstanding "lunch" at 4:30pm. It was a salmon salad with almond slivers, cranberry, generous portions of goat cheese with a lot of delicious smoked salmon. There were two yummy thick slices of bread with ice cold butter and a home made vinegrette. It was perfect.

Almost 5 stars...Celebrated our anniversary here , didn't even know about this place until this summer. Totally impressed by the way it was taken care of, the coziness and cleanliness of the room. We even had the pet friendly room (brought our dog) and it was spic and span. The restaurant was awesome! If you are stuck at an Inn for the weekend it's a wonderful thing to know the food will be excellent! Quality AND quantity were great. Wonderful burgers, salmon pasta dishes, breakfasts with great coffee. Service was excellent, felt like a big family.

This was an amazing stay while in Ashland. Though it's a bit of a drive from the downtown area it is WELL worth it. It's a BEAUTIFUL place. It's calm. In between trees and very laid back. The people working there were so sweet and accommodating. We got checked in went up to our room and it was just a basic room with a queen bed. We went down and asked if it was possible to upgrade to the room with the screened balcony with a jacuzzi tub and they said not a problem (it was a Thursday night, didn't seem too busy) they ended up only charging us 20 extra to do that. We were thinking it would be at least 60 extra and even at that we were willing. It was such a pleasurable experience and I can hardly wait to go back.

Everything at the Green Springs Inn is top notch! The owners and staff are friendly, helpful, and accommodating! We held a graduation party on the lawn, rented a couple cabins, as well as a few rooms at the lodge. Everyone in our party (over 40 people) had an excellent time at the Green Springs Inn. The cabins and rooms are comfy and beautiful. The morning following the party several of us had breakfast at the restaurant and everything was delicious. We shared a cinnamon roll with our table of 6 that was also great! We are planning to go back very soon. Highly - highly recommend the Green Springs Inn!

While the drive to get there was a little off the beating path, this place was so peaceful and beautiful. I freaked a bit when I realized there wasn't a TV, but I quickly relaxed in the comfy bed, the whirlpool tub and the cozy chairs. I will be back next time we are driving through.

We stayed in one of the cabins for two nights. The cabins are delightful! The kitchens are fully appointed, with a little fridge and a half-size dishwasher, and a decent stove... and a full complement of pots, pans, knives, etc. The bathroom, which in our cabin was between the bedroom and the kitchen, is large, with a huge stone-floored shower with faucets on two sides. The bedroom is neat and cozy, the living room is comfortable... and it was chilly enough that the wood burning stove was very appreciated. I can't see the loft being useful if you don't have kids - it lacks sufficient privacy for, say, one couple in the bedroom and one in the loft - but it was nice. There is a deck that runs all the way around, from the outdoor Jacuzzi to the back of the dining area, and our cabin had an enclosed "outside" additional dining area. The proprietors were very nice, and we enjoyed hiking around the woods behind the cabins. The restaurant (at the entrance off the road) ranges from decent to excellent. If I were reviewing it by itself, I'd be tempted to knock a star off for lack of consistency - except, at the price, it would still be a solid four stars on the off day, and on the good day - it fully deserves five stars.

Green Springs Inn has a very strict cancellation/rebooking policy. I will never book with them again. Unfortunately, my travel plans changed and two weeks notice was not enough to recover any deposit. Green Springs Inn took $250 from me in exchange for nothing. This is called stealing. These are very bad people.

This Is a fantastic little retreat in a beautiful setting. I was quite late getting in, so I only had the opportunity to have soup and a salad. The tomato bisque was really, really good, as was the salad -- I was particularly impressed with the dressing (I have a serious sauce problem). They had a number of local brews on tap (bonus!). My breakfast was equally tasty! I spent the night in one of the cabins -- they are fantastic. They were designed by one of the sons of the family and built out of the wood cleared to put them up. My cabin had a really nice layout with a full kitchen, a wood stove, a shower (with two shower heads) and a super comfy bed. But, for me, the best part was the hot tub. So deep, jets on my back, looking out over the ridge that hosts the Pacific Crest trail. Also, the family that owns it is super cool, and my interactions with the rest of the staff were warm and welcoming. Go, eat, stay!

As you're driving out to the inn, you may say "why am I going this far?" Just wait, the answer will become clear! Green Springs Inn is charming. The food at the restaurant is amazing! Fresh, yummy, and reasonable! My husband and I had two appetizers, two dinners, shared dessert and he had a beer for...$29!! And, the food was delicious! Also, the owner of the Inn is a charming man who bought the adjoining 145 acres (saving it from being clear cut) and is builiding cabins on the land that are available to stay in. He's taking the trees that he cuts and turning them into the cabins. It is a great story and the results are lovely! Highly recommend!

This was the absolute highlight of our trip from Seattle to Six Flags. Incredibly friendly atmosphere, delicious food, and beautiful surroundings. Our room was so cozy and romantic, with a gas fireplace and jacuzzi tub. We really could not have asked for anything more. Spent three times the price at an Inn in Napa the next night, and while it was also lovely, we missed Green Springs. Will be back!

On our road-trip through Oregon we decided to take a chance and stay at Green Springs Inn. The owner and his son are extremely helpful and very hospitable to their guests. We stayed in the suite with the jacuzzi and it definitely was a relaxing stop for our trip. In the morning we went to the restaurant, which was just as delightful as the room we slept in. The son was behind the counter and provided good conversation until the place filled up. It was surprising a lot of locals seemed to come out of the forest for this place, especially since it felt like it was pretty isolated. If you are looking for a place to stay over for a road-trip or looking for a nice place to get away... be sure to give them a try! You won't regret it!

My husband and I stayed here two nights as part of our honeymoon and loved every minute of it. The cabins are peaceful, comfortable and beautifully built. We were impressed with all of the little details (robes, soaking tub, gas grill, wi-fi and a fireplace set and ready to light!). We made some amazing meals right there in our cabin and enjoyed a few at the restaurant too! The owners are very accommodating and made our stay especially enjoyable.

We went up to Ashland over the 4th of July for the Shakespeare Festival and stayed at the Green Springs Inn. Based on what we needed in terms of lodging, I would rate the place with only two stars. Here are the pros and cons: Cons - REALLY far from Ashland. I don't care what the site says, if you're in town specifically to go to Ashland, expect a looooong drive to and from this lodge. We wasted so much time going back and forth and the road is really scary because you're hanging off a cliff for most of the drive. Not fun at midnight after the play had ended. - Major ant infestation. Granted, it is a lodge out in the woods and you should expect some vermin here are there, but the ant situation was worse than any camping trip. They were on the floor, in the bathroom and worst of all.....in our bed when we came home from the play, like 20 of them and not in full form and dropping from the smoke detector. Thank god I packed sheets. - Not cheap considering the accomodations. Our room was $130 which isn't really that high but when you consider some of the cons and things to know, I don't know if the price is reflective of what you get for your money. Pros - If you're looking for a remote place in the woods, this is your place. Super pretty scenery and very remote. - Staff was very nice. The owner was really nice and apologetic about the ant situation. - Really clean. Besides the ant issue which I'm not sure you could avoid, the place was really clean and recently updated. It feels like you're in a cottage with IKEA furniture. - Restaurant looked AMAZING! We didn't try it, but the food looked awesome Things to know - No TV, but plenty of board games. - No cell service or data connectivity in that area. - No phone in room - No one to talk to at 12:30 in the morning when you find out your room is swarming with ants

We are actually staying here right now, and I'm so impressed I thought I better write a review before I forget. It is lovely....truly lovely. We wanted to find a place to ring in the new year in peace and I don't think I could have found a better place. We are staying in their cabins (Parsnip Lakes cabin to be exact....but I think that they are all fairly comparable). I have two children and it is perfect for them and perfect for me. A really thoughtfully put together cabin. Absolutely everything you could think of is here....flashlights distributed around the cabin, lovely hot tub/bath tub off the bedroom. Small dishwasher to make it easy, fully stocked kitchen with utensils...even nice tea waiting. Also....super clean. Like, as if we were the first people to ever set foot in the cabin clean. The shower is lovely....nice and big with two shower heads. The scenery is beautiful!! I am so relaxed I really don't ever want to leave. Already planning when I can come back! Also....I did need to bring a bit of work with me, and was a little freaked out by a few reviews which indicated that there was no connectivity and no internet. I am currently on the internet and it works very well. My phone also has service....low bars, but what would one expect out here...I'm impressed there is service at all. In any case....I could send a text message letting people know we arrived last night. We did drive in in the evening....and yes the road is a bit windy and a little dark, but I'll be honest, it wasn't as stressful as I thought it might be from some reviews. The road is plenty wide, well marked etc. We were fine! Oh...and there is no tv, which I love. I did bring an extra laptop for the kids and with the internet and Netflix they were able to go out on the enclosed porch and watch a video which thrilled them (as they don't watch much tv) and I was able to get some peace....so you could for certain bring a computer and Netflix and make that work if entertainment was a big deal. they have a nice little radio/docking station for an ipod so you could have some nice music. Again, so thoughtfully put together. Lastly, kudos to the builders, I keep looking around at the wood floors, the tiling on the counters and in the bathroom etc. I'm definitely not a contractor, but it looks SO nicely built and put together....a far cry from what I thought it could be out in the Oregon woods. Good value for price...for certain. OH....I'm going to have to leave tomorrow?? Why didn't I book an extra day?

Stayed here three nights in the Chinquapin cabin. What a wonderful stay. Loads of firewood available, excellent service from the staff, a fun and deep hot tub, thick towels and floor mats, comfy, huge bed, all set deep in the woods off the highway. Close to Hyatt Lake. We had breakfast at the restaurant, just wonderful food. Great coffee too. And the pie! I had dutch apple, really homemade there on the premises, and the rhubarb was sweet and tart in perfect ratio and combination. About 30 minutes away from Ashland, and well worth the drive.

The Green Springs Inn is about 18 miles outside of Ashland, but the drive is worth it. The drive along Route 66 is stunning. One can breathe a sigh of relief to be outside of the tourism that exists in Ashland; although, all the events surrounding Oregon Shakespeare Festival are very accessible. There are also Hyatt Lake/Howard Prairie Recreation activities right up the road from the Green Springs Inn. Our cabin offered a serene and peaceful atmosphere and plentiful amenities that were impeccable. The woodwork for each cabin is milled right on the property! In fact you see the mill as you travel to and from the cabin. The smell of fresh indigenous wood greets each guest upon entering. And outstanding amenities: Soft bathroom robes, outdoor tub, wrap-around porch (with part of it is screened off), bbq, full kitchen equipped for cooking, CD Player, No TV! (Hooray), a loft with two futons, and a comfy queen mattress in the room downstairs, double-headed shower with slate tiles. Everything has been thought of and the craftsmanship is something to be awed at. My Mom and I said "Oh My God this sooooo nice I can't believe it!" a million times before we found sweet slumber amongst the peaceful and still trees. For breakfast there is a plethora of healthy and hearty options. The sour dough pancakes have great texture and taste. The omlettes, chorizo, and spinach options were amazing and the bacon was the best ever! Definitey ate leftovers on my way down south to SF. A good stopping point for sure! There is a lodge, but I can only speak for the cabins, because that is where I was lucky enough to stay, but the lodges look just as wonderful.

We live in nearby Ashland and love making the scenic drive to the Greensprings Inn restaurant. The food, service and ambiance make the trip worth while. For breakfast, lunch or dinner we have found many favorite food items. They make their own breads and rolls, dressings, pies etc. Absolutely delicious!!

We loved this place, stayed in the Chinquapin cabin in August 2010. The bathroom floor was beautiful, I want to put the same floor in my house. The interior was really nice and comfy, perfect size for family of 4. The master bed was very comfortable, the setting was private and a wonderful view. There was a big deck outside and an outdoor tub, though unfortunately the jets didn't work when we were there. But the owner was very nice and responsive about it. Be aware that there are lots of bugs, as you might expect in the woods, and they were in our bedroom flying around the lamp. We tried to keep the doors closed to keep them out. The cafe has delicious pie, the food portions were huge, more than each person could eat without gaining a few pounds. And the waitress was very friendly. Overall, a nice relaxed and friendly vibe at Green Springs. We would return if in the Ashland area!

Excellent place all the way around! Stayed for 4 nights, 3 in Soda Mountain and 1 in Pilot Rock. Soda Mountain is a bit larger, with two kids, mom and two grandparents it was a better fit. The upstairs loft area might be intimidating for those with young children but mine are 3 and 4 and were up and down the stairs constantly. I suppose it would all depend on your child, your comfort level ect but if your children are safe climbers it's totally doable. Love that Soda Mountain feels super isolated. It's a bit farther away than the other cabins so unless you're doing the dishes you can't see anyone. Loved that I could let the kids play outside with zero worries. Everyone loved the hot tub, water gets very hot and stays hot. Sure we had to clean ants (wood ants not house ants) out each day but you are out in the woods. We saw deer each day out and around the cabins. Soda Mountain also is fully wheelchair accessible. Since these cabins are newly built it gets the accessibility right which is not always the case. Pilot Rock has a slightly smaller footprint. One bed in the loft area. Both cabins had futons in the lofts which I wasn't excited about but was happily surprised to find very comfortable. This is coming from someone with bone cancer in their spine, shoulders, hips ect. along with major back surgery two years ago yet even I was comfortable sleeping on them. The grandparents also spent two nights on the futons and were very comfortable. Pilot rock is close to a horse shoe pit which we had a lot of fun with. Both cabins have an indoor/outdoor porch which can be turned into a bedroom in the warmer months. Having that extra space was particularly nice since we'd brought two medium sized dogs. You'd feel like you were sleeping in a tree house out there but be prepared for no curtains in the porch room (if you were to use it for sleeping). PETS: If you have pets this is the place for you. No pet charge, which is amazing. They also give you a "pet bag". It contains, food and water dish, chew and play toys, large and small bed, sheets to cover sofa ect if you dog climbs on furniture. Restaurant: We had a $200 credit to the restaurant as part of our Groupon deal so we eat there quite a bit. Every meal we had was amazing and we're fairly picky. My family is from the Mendocino Coast and grew up on fabulous food. I expected greasy spoon, diner type food and could not have been more wrong. The chef, and truly it is a Chef, at Green Springs Inn is that rare breed who not only sources the highest quality of ingredients but also knows not just what to do with them but how to make them sing! The owners better hope no one from Zagat shows up to eat at Green Springs Inn because their Chef would be besieged with offers from every hot spot in the country the food is simply stunning. My father and I once did a Key Lime Taste Test. During a 10 day stay in Key West, FL we bough a key lime pie each day to find the best one which of course was Blond Giraffe. I've had many a key lime pies since that trip and most I dont' get past the first bite. At Green Springs Inn not only did I send my father up to buy another slice he came back with the rest of the pie! It was simply amazing. The Hosts: While the countryside is stunning, the privacy perfect and the food out of this world is is actually your hosts that elevate the Green Springs Inn to a place that no one should miss. We had a Groupon deal, which of course called for specific times, dates ect. We couldn't find dates that worked within those constraints yet they happily welcomed us far outside the end date in order to make it work. They could have said no, not honored the entire value and just giving us our credit of actual cash paid but they honored every bit of it. When I almost blew our entire vacation by having the wrong date in my head (Friday arrival when it was really Thursday) they called, very worried to ensure nothing had happened to us. Then instead of only honoring the remaining 3 days of our reservation, which would have been 100% understandable they let us stay an "extra" day, letting us have our full 4 nights even though that meant we had to move to another cabin for the last night. Sure that may sound like an inconvienence to us but they are the ones who had to pay someone to clean two cabins instead of simply one. They were wonderful in all of our dealings with them and cemented our love of Green Springs Inn. The best: Taking a vacation with small children is most often not a vacation at all for the parents. This trip was the first time in 4.5 years that I've actually been relaxed on a trip. All of the above combined to bring on pure and utter relaxation even with my 3 and 4 year old running around tirelessly. Go, you wont' be disappointed.

this is a small inn and it IS pretty remote: you have to drive up a long and very windy road to get to it. but it's the perfect getaway place to stay. we stayed in Room 5, and it was so gorgeous - the inn looks pretty rough and tumble when you drive up but the rooms are cosy and beautiful. 5 has a fireplace and hot tub, separate toilet, fridge and microwave, aircon, a little table and chairs, coffee maker and the room is huuuuge. bed is super comfy too.
