    Great beer, but I keep wanting to like their food more than I actually do. The burger was a little over-spiced, the pizza was a little too thin and crispy for my liking, and the hummus is a bit weak. Still, I keep coming back and trying more things because the atmosphere is great, the beer is good, and the staff is friendly.

    Kathline. A butterfly in the wind, a gorgeous soul in a delicate frame. The rush was all around us. Ashlandians, Oregonites and us out of state folk took refuge from the world on the Caldera Tap Room Patio. The sun bore through the trees and leaves over the gossiping creek as we basked in the shade of a quiet overpass. Timid as she is, Kat floated to us a delicious plate full of Cajun Style Tater Tots with ranch and a few mildly hoppy beers while we poured over a menu of biblical proportion. The sinister scent of a savory sandwich surrounded my soul and transcended what it means to be consumed in broad daylight. IN PUBLIC NO LESS! A chill slipped down my spine as the words spilled from my tongue and lip, dribbling down my chin and into the air. "ONE EXTRA STINKY HIPPIE PLEASE." falling softly into her ear and causing such elation as to drive her to giggle in that way a forest fairy might whisper you a secret or a lie. The sun began to sink and the firefly lights grew bold and impatient for the coming night. Upon arrival of our food we made sure to order a secondary beverage as they only warranted 3.50 from my purse. The cheese the sourdough, zucchini Caramelized onion and avo spread soon overtook my body and mind. Combined with the Forthright power of ranch dressing I began to weep gently into my steak fries. (also good). I boldly plowed through bite after succulent bite. Cherishing every morsel of edible pleasure and began to realize the eternal majesty that this blessed woman had bestowed on my life and the lives of my three compadres. The small matter of the bill was at first a welcome sum. The task of dividing up said bill became a nuisance, then a frustration, then that shit turned into a neutered priest riding a bear and everybody knew it so we solved the conundrum by getting 4 beers on the house and being fucking angels to our beloved waitress whom at this point in her career was more frazzled than a hung over fuzzy wuzzy in the dog house during exceedingly dry weather. The sun had sunk low and as we filled our growler and gathered our belongings I thanked my lady and fell into the sweet Shakespearian Ashland sunset. May we meet again some day soon.

    I think some people are confusing this location with their new brewery and taproom. This is the more chill brother of the two, I'm assuming. Beer was good -- we tried 3 samplers of almost everything. Some were great, some were not as great. The IPAs were solid (though the one we really wanted to try was surprisingly out) and anything dark (the Mogli was quite good). Anything lighter was more of a miss for us. Food was just average -- typical pub food. The fried chicken sandwich was basically chicken strips between bread (is this a new trend?). Tots were a bit too crispy for me but GZ likes them that way. Hot wings were not super hot but enjoyable anyway. Service was surprisingly good. We sat on the patio and there was one waitress working -- we got our food in reasonable amount of time and she was serving all the tables on the patio. Very friendly and remembered our order (this says a lot in Ashland apparently).

    Beers are interesting and affordable. Mogli Imperial Porter tastes like chocolate syrup. Rauch ur Bock is crazy smokey. Ginger beer was subtle and awesome. Service was amateur, oblivious, and very slow.

    I can't NOT review this place. My boyfriend and I are regulars, I suppose? The Hopportunity Knocks is my absolute favorite. It's hoppy, strong and delicious. It blows Standing Stone away. We love the pretzels here and always order them. They are basic, but they know how to make 'em right here. The Dirty Hippie sandwich is popular with my boyfriend, and I love their super spicy hot wings. They aren't the breaded kind (phew!) and they make your lips numb, so if that's how you like them, come here and enjoy them! The place itself needs a little work primarily in the lighting dept. They keep it brightly lit till like 9pm and THEN they dim it. Keep it dim all the time! It's so much more relaxing. They have a great beer garden in the summer that seems to be family friendly. The service here is spotty. There are 2 main waitresses: one is great, the other is a bit of a flake but she's friendly enough. Caldera is about what you expect from a local pub: a bit grungy, hit-or-miss service, but the beer rocks and the food is pretty darn good overall. The live music is fun too!

    This is about as chill a spot you can get in Ashland with cool people and even cooler beer. I have been coming to this place for years and will stand up and testify to my fondness for it. The girls here are one in a million, with a relaxed vibe and a friendly spirit. Don't be surprised if you end up feeling welcome. If you've enjoyed Caldera before then you know it stands out against any beer. I suggest you do a sampler if you don't know what to get. True craft beer. Yum. As far as the rest well...cheap happy hour pints and a spot for dogs on the low deck makes for a perfect stop. My only suggestion is a local's call for a menu upgrade. Other than that, rock on.

    My friend and I were staying in Ashland as a stopover on our way up to Seattle. We didn't get to our hotel until about 9 and were looking for some good grub and ambiance after a long day's drive. Found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try. Located near Main Street, the tap house is just as cute as it's surroundings. With the lighted patio and Al Green background music, it was just the place we needed to relax, recharge, and enjoy a brew and a burger.

    I gave two stars based on the atmosphere. The beer and pizza was OK. The other food and service was horrible. We stopped in for lunch on our way back to the Bay Area from Portland. We went on a recommendation. When we walked in I was overwhelmed at the bottle collection and people enjoying there food. At first site we where stoked and looked very promising! No guest taps or bottles. Kinda bummer. A couple of the beers where decent. We were on the second round of beers and realized we hadn't even received our appetizers we ordered almost an hour ago. My buddies started getting angry. Me being the cool one of the group went and asked for management. Over an hour to wait for food on a Friday afternoon is not cool. Waitress tried to blame the kitchen, yet she only checked on us twice the whole hour we waited for our food. After everything my chicken sandwich came with guac when I asked for no guac. Only one out of four of us like the food we got, which was the pizza. Real let down with this place. On to the next.

    Ok, I had issues. But still. While not a snob about beers ("Is it beer? Good, I'll have some."), I do like finding something I hope I'll like. Our waitron was very unclear--again, at least to me--about the difference between the "list of beers we make" and the "list of beers we are presently serving," even after I picked three beers in a row they were NOT serving, the waitron was unclear (again, to me) about the difference between the "beer menu," and the "Beer Menu." So there's that. Eventually had a Double Red Ale, delicious and good. Went as a nice counterpoint to my Caldera Burger (juicy, hot, perfectly cooked to order, great bun. No mayo tho, had to ask; it was delivered quickly. The steak fries. One word: no. Just don't. Clearly food-service industry steak fries pulled out of a freezer, dumped in a fryer and...well, you know. Huge portion of giant Lincoln-log pile of plank-like truck stop steak fries. This is not a compliment. Just no. My dining companions had the tots, which were delicious and über-plentiful. Their portions each were more than enough for all of us. I skipped the aforementioned potato planks and shared their excess of crispy, yet tender, tots. A future visit could easily be 4 stars. Not this time tho.

    I'm a fan of their beers. Any of the varieties are very tasty! We were able to hang out on a couch sipping the assortment of mini beers (see photo). They also have little board games while you're waiting for stuff, so we traded trivial pursuit questions (again, I appreciate this because I'm a nerd). The food was your run of the mill bar food, the beer is the standout. Nice mellow joint to hang out after seeing a show or shopping around. I'll be back whenever I visit Ashland.

    Nice selection of beers across a wide variety of styles. Cozy basement interior and treehouse-esque patio provide good atmosphere for tipping a few back. Fish tacos and enchilada casserole were okay but nothing great. Service was very friendly and informed.

    I vaguely recall being here in the 1980s when it was a Rogue Ale House (or something like that). This Water Street location (by the creek and below the Indian Restaurant) is still a nice place to go for a wee pint. There are food offerings, but they clearly take 2nd place to the generous beer selections. When we were last here, Gayle and I sat inside on a rainy day. This time around, we took a table at the smaller of the 2 deck sections in back. This is a nice shady outdoor seating area, but I wish it was closer to the creek, similar to the front entrance. We shared some Hummus and a couple beers. One was a nice IPA and the other was a fantastic porter with chocolate and coconut accents. The Caldera Tap House s not fine dining, but for this Midwest boy who grew up in friendly neighborhood taverns, this place is the bees knees.

    The Mogli is an excellent Porter. My personal favorite though is the Roasted Hatch Chili beer. It's not for everyone, but if you're getting a flight of beers, I'd save a spot for the Roasted Hatch.

    Okay, the bonus is that the food was worth the wait and the beer was spectacular... however, the rest was sub-par. We went during the day because it was gorgeous out. The deck and tables were dirty and dusty with cigarette butts on the ground. The place was PACKED but only staffed by a bartender and a cook. Amazingly the bartender did a great job, but we had to wait 20 minutes before finally venturing inside to see about a server, then when we found out there wasn't one, we had to wait in line at the bar for 20 minutes to order. The food was relatively fast to come out and delicious, but then 20 more minutes for beer refills, then he lost our ticket so it was another 20-30 minutes of waiting to pay. A lot of waiting... Maybe they weren't prepared for a beautiful March weekend, but I find that surprising!

    Holy Moly! That was the worst service. I always rate positive at least 95% of my reviews. This is my first one star. We only ordered 2 drinks and veggies and hummus. One hour later we had our drinks and they brought chips and salsa NoT our item ordered. I think they understaffed so I felt bad but went to my show hungry

    Our first stop in Ashland, and this place was close to our hotel. The wait to get our food was really long, but I have to say it was worth it! I had a veggie sandwich and cup of beer-cheese soup, mom had a salad as high as Mt. Hood, and my picky daughter had a meat calzone. We were ALL blown away. So much so that we came back the next night. Told the server we were in a hurry for a play that evening, and she got us handled right away. Had a BIG bowl of the beer cheese soup (yes, it was THAT good). Ordered their "brew"schetta - which was the 2nd best I'd ever had. Daughter got the truffle mac N cheese and mom got the gnocci which was unlike any I'd ever seen and she absolutely raved about it! That said - if we were drinkers we would probably love this place. We did try 2 of their house-made soda's (LOVED the ginger-ale). It was rather loud and I think under-staffed, but the food was very reasonable (both nights under $50 for all 3 of us) and the variety of items were great. I would recommend this stop anytime in Ashland.

    My family and I are regulars and it's always great service, the beer options are always amazing, and the food is consistently delicious every time. I never shy away from going because prices are never outrageous, either. The outside seating is awesome for people who have kids as well.

    On a 90 degree day there is no better place to hang out than the shaded patio at Caldera. Plus they love dogs in this generally dog-unfriendly town. Caldera's own brews are very nice, plus they are open-minded enough to serve an excellent selection of other beers, too.

    We visited this brewery on a recent road trip because an acquaintance said it's "Pilot Rock Porter" was like no other, immaculately crafted, and overly delicious. Not the case, in my opinion. It was average at best, a solid b-, which is better than the other brews sampled. (I did like the dry hopped red sample) On the more positive side, the pizza was delicious. Lots of options for making your own pie. The decorative set up inside with all the bottles is cool too. Good location for those passing through with the hotel set up. The service wasn't horrible, and the bar tender was pretty mellow. In the end, not a bad place to check out, just not for me.

    Stopped in a week ago and had a Pale and burger as we walked through town. My beer was awesome and the blue cheese burger was good. A bit rare for medium rare but I enjoyed the flavors. The waiter was so friendly. Nice tucked away place.

    Caldera has great beer in a lot of different styles and a decent assortment of menu items to choose from. One thing though that I feel is ubiquitous across the two Caldera locations in town is a lack of service and attention to customers. Often it can be 15 - 20 minutes of sitting before the one or two persons working comes to acknowledge you. Additonally I don't know who programs the Caldera point of sale system. It's got to be the worst I've ever seen. Employees claim it doesn't split checks out, split items between more than one credit card, or itemize. In 2014 those seem like pretty basic featurs of a point of sale. One wonders if those restrections are invented on the spot or owner imposed.

    Their Pilsner beer is so yummy and refreshing. The tots are a must and the burger was good but could have been better. The Bacon was a little too salty and the salt added to the burger was a little too much. But the service was amazing. We had a great time and the outdoor seating was really nice. Will come back for their Cajun tots and beer!

    Good beer selection and all quite good. The food choices are what one would expect at a beer pub and all of our meals were well prepared. The outdoor decks are where the action is on a Summer night. The decks are fun if you ignore they are under a street underpass near a parking lot. These are not the cute decks on the river that are nearby. Anyway, it's all about the beer and Caldera doesn't disappoint!

    It's to the side of the downtown area where the most of the action happens. It's partially under a bridge and next to a creek. There's 80's and 90's American rock music playing moderately loud in the background. The crowd is all ages, but mostly late college to early adult. Dress is casual and outdoor sports oriented. Outside, there are little tables at multiple elevations on a wooden deck lit with light ropes and shaded by a few trees. Dogs are commonly resting next to their owner's table. Cars and bicyclists move slowly up and down the one street visible from the deck. People drift in and out greeting friends before moving along. Inside, there is a small bar, high and low tables, and a couch before a gas fireplace in a room lit by dim yellow lights. There are books to read, games to play, and even books and toys for children. The decorations consists of alpine skiing memorabilia and beer brewing awards. Everywhere, the vibe is very mellow. Even the restrooms are chill. They're labeled "Ale" and "Lager." You just have to pick one and lock the door. This is a taproom so the beer is the focus, not the food. There are always around 10 beers on tap all of which were brewed right there. Nonetheless, the menu is adequate and about half the entrées are vegetarian. All are reasonably priced. If money's tight, try on of the fresh pretzels with mustard. It'll keep you going. It's the perfect place to recover after a hump-day trail run in the mountains above Ashland.

    Had a wonderful meal. Started with stuffed mushrooms and the peppers with cheese & chips. IPA was great. Entrees we had the mahi mahi, salmon, truffle burger, Hawaiian pizza and kids Mac-n-cheese. All were a hit. Left stuffed and happy. If you want to enjoy having a conversation with the adults at the table suggest to the kids to count the beer bottles around the room.

    My out of town friend and I ventured into CTH, to check out the scene and the beers. We were served by Mike, who was awesome, and gave good consults on the beer choices (and was just generally a positive guy and positive vibe on the place). While the 3 rather eclectic bands started warming up, we sat at a back table to take it all in. Although it's a bit dark, it is a brewpub, and I think the scene is in accord with the funkiness that is Ashland. We got charged a $5 cover, which at first I was a little reluctant about, but for 3 bands and collectively about 20 band members, I think it netted out to about paying a quarter per musician. While I would say the first band should really have paid me to listen to them, the others made up for it. But really - I was there for the beers. They were great. Here's my snapshot of them. - Rauch Ur Bock. Honestly, this is a love it or hate it style beer. Me? I love it. It's smoky goodness in a beer...I think of it as a peaty scotch-like beer. If you like Lagavulin or Ardbeg scotch, then this is probably your beer. I've never had anything like it, so big props on this one. Had to get two of these on the night, it was so unique. - Mogli. Served in a 10 oz. glass to comply with the law (how cool is it for them to get to say that), the Mogli is a unique experience. It's like a nutty, bourbon mocha glass of goodness, meant to be sipped. Maybe it is technically a beer, but you won't necessarily think that. My out of town friend liked it so much that he ordered 3 of them. Not sure I should have let him drive home. - Hopportunity Knocks. I think I would have liked this more if I didn't disable my taste buds from an order of the Caldera Hot Wings. It's not that the wings were that spicy, but they did impair my ability to give a fully accurate review. That being said, I liked the HK plenty, but couldn't differentiate it much from their standard IPA after the wings. - IPA. I would say that this is my go-to standard with Caldera. It's a good, solid IPA, that I would be perfectly content with overall. Although I like amber beers, I find that Caldera's Ashland Amber is just not as good a flagship beer as their IPA. Yep, this is definitely a well-balanced drinking beer. - Pilot Rock Porter. If you want to venture darker, but can't quite get to the Mogli, then their Porter is quite good. I confess as one of the last beers of the night after all of the above and the wings, I can't give this a full rundown, but I did think it was smooth and not as heavy as some Porters come across. If you appreciate fine craft beers, the 20 taps should alone be enough to motivate you to go to CTH. It's really a great little hidden gem on Water street, and a fun overall experience of the Ashland scene. I strongly recommend, if beer's your thing.

    I love Caldera!! Toasted Coconut Chocolate Porter is amazing!! I love how welcoming the servers and bar tenders are there too. Lots of great beers and good food to choice from! Look for live music on the weekends. If you visit Ashland definitely stop by Caldera for a local handcrafted brew!

    Visiting from Southern California I had to make my way to Caldera as we only get 4 of their beers in So Cal. Oh man am I glad I stopped in. 20 plus taps of great beer? Hell Yeah!! Great outdoor atmosphere with a good vibe? Hell Yah!!! Beer flights at a good price? Hell Yah!!! Good food to pair with the already amazing beers? Hell Yah!!! Have to get another carry on bag cause I packed my luggage full of 22oz Moglis? Hell Yah!!! My mother in law will be shipping some more Moglis once I run out. If your on a pub crawl in southern Oregon and pass this place you messed up....bad!!!! CHEERS!!

    I'm glad I found this brewery before I left Ashland on my road trip because it was possibly the highlight of the trip! I was hoping that this cute town would have a special brewery to match and this is definitely the one. Most memorable beers were the Rose Petal Golden Ale - a unique and complimentary version of the style and the Mogli - one of the best Chocolate Porters I have ever tried. Took plenty to go with me on the road.

    This place is awesome. Their beer is reasonably priced and SO good. My favorites are the ginger beer and the chocolate coconut beer. The Mogli is pretty good, too. They have quite a few food options for vegetarians and the hummus is vegan.

    Great atmosphere. Outdoor seating on a couple decks and yes, there are outdoor heaters. There is a creek running by. Indoors it's a bit dark, but it's a pub. What do you want. Small stage area for live music, etc, although the two times I've visited it was in the afternoon, so no live music happening, however, during yesterday's visit, they were projecting this 1971 video of The Performers doing all kinds of crazy skiing jumps. Excellent beer drinking music on the stereo. Stones, Zeppelin, and other classic rock mixed in. Great service. Very relaxed. Attentive but not oppressive. Good food. That's my only reason for knocking off a star- some food items can use improvement, but nothing was bad. On our two visits here, we tried the fries, burgers, bbq pork sandwich, mahi mahi sandwich, and nachos. All were good but not outstanding. Great beer! We usually sample every beer a brewery has to offer, and Caldera has 20! A sampler tray has 5 beers, and it costs $6. So we had 4 trays. Favorites: Lawnmower Lager, Hop Hash, Hatch Chili Ale, Coffee Brown, Mowgli Porter, Coconut Chocolate Porter, and the Vas Deferens Ale (would love to know the story behind that one). I love this place and although I don't pass through Ashland very often, I plan to continue to stop here every time I do.

    This place RULES. Yeah, we all know the beer is good, but everything else is great too. The food is solid, and not too expensive (their nachos feed 3-4 people easily - and they also have tater tots on the menu - boss!). The service is quick and friendly, they have music every weekend or so (not that Ashland has the greatest music scene, but still), and the decor is sweet. Love this place, and I'll always come back here all the time, even if it's on the opposite side of town.

    Well, we were a party of twenty and it took over two hours before we got any food. This was only the fourth day they were open. The waiter was a little confused at times and seemed a little afraid to keep us updated with times. We had to hunt them down. They did comp all the beer that everyone drank and the food was tasty, maybe because we were so hungry. Will I ever go back? Sure. I'll give them another shot next time I'm in Ashland.

    Best beers in town. Best wings in town. Best atmosphere in town. The food presents exemplary pub cuisine that offers a range of choices. The bartenders/waitresses are always super friendly and efficient. Favorite place to hit up after rippin it at mt ashland all day.

    Best brew pub on the West Coast. Awesome town. Cool people. Great beer. Out of control. The Caldera Tap House boasts 20 taps, including an amazing chocolate, bourbon, oak-aged imperial porter called Mogli. This is the sort of place where everyone seems to be friends. The lighting's intimate. There's even a fireplace. And if you're just passing through the [awesome] town of Ashland and feel bummed that you can't get some of these brews on your store shelves (Caldera only cans and sells 3 types of their brew), don't worry, bring your own sealable jar and pay just $.18/ounce to take your favorite tap brew to go. Really...

    What a fun place. This place has a HUGE selection of beer and really good food. It's set back in a corner and worth finding it. Beer was great. I had the Helles Lager. Sky was my server and she was awesome.

    Amazing beer, low prices, great environment, lots of local talent music shows. What's not to love?! My all time favorite bar in Ashland. Never had any of the food but I've heard great things and am very excited to go for a dinner sometime soon! They have something for everyone- down to three different environments.... Old school wooden homey side, classy section with couches and a fireplace, and a large patio for outdoor dining!

    Nice taproom, even better beer! Friendly staff, but kind of a small space. I recommend the Old Growth Imperial Stout and the deliciously resiny and piney IPA. Food was pretty good and reasonably priced... we had onion rings and a taco salad.

    Love the beers, hate their hours. We breeze through Ashland twice a year and cannot always make the not open till 4 pm. BUT when we do we stock up. Excellent beer in cans? Perfect hot tub beer (no glass). We always come home with a few cases of the IPA, bottles of Rauchbier and anything else that strikes our fancy. And fill up the growlers please! Opening before 4 on weekends would give this place 5 stars. Had apps once and they were very good...... Now if I could just get Mogli out of the house.......

    This place turned out to be a hidden gem! My sister and I were pleasantly surprised to find a table on Super Bowl Sunday in clear view of the big screen - after the game had already started. Great beers, and it will take many more visits to try them all! The wings were great - really spicy, the way we like them. The hummus was really good, but there weren't enough veggies...just way too many chips. I need to come back and try more of the menu-looking forward to it!

    The beers were quite good...after waiting 10 minutes to get them. We were going to order some food, but after waiting another 10 minutes to order we decided to go elsewhere. I agree with another review...oblivious. Do the servers all toke up before work?...that is kind of what they acted like. Good beer, terrible service.

    "Hubby likes his beer". Shaddup Beth. This little hole in the bridge kept us fresh as Georgia peaches on our return to the land of underage cocaine abuse and home foreclosures (NE Idaho).. Thanks to the anti-retard service from a sweet young LSD enthusiast by the name of "Kat", we were on our way to culinary pleasure and a continuation of borderline alcoholism in a matter of seconds. Soon the Cajun style taters were delivered, prepared hot and served tastefully on a cod piece prepared from ground up "Unicorn Thumbs". Like Native American culture, the sun was soon raped, pillaged, and forgotten about as the small, vulnerable city of Ashland began to buckle under our demands of chicken sandwiches and more water. The bums that live on the bridge peered at us through large shrubberies with a look of bewilderment and fascination as we lazily spilt and spit up devastating amounts of food and booze as all white middle class hooligans tend to do. For desert: a discounted check, and a tender smile and wink from the once breathtaking-I'm-sure waitress. With each vibration released into the bench seat of table 62, I think our hearts got just a little bit bigger, and we understood a little bit more about what it's like to live in a world where 4 dogs such as ourselves can fall in love with a Kat.

    Very good beer, but nothing earth shattering. Rauch beer is worth a try, very interesting but the smokiness and slight sour taste of burn can be overwhelming. Great location, but ambiance is a bit lacking. Our server was constantly complaining about her allergies, I could do without stories of phlegm and uncontrollable sneezing from someone who is delivering my beer. Skip the food unless you are on an all day session and are in dire need of sustenance.

    If you want to get away from the tourists and enjoy a really good selection of micro brews, this is the place. I loved the Amber and also enjoyed the IPA. My wife enjoyed the Red Pot Ale. The food we have eaten there is plentiful, good, and affordable. We are vegetarians and have had the nachos, which include beans. We also had a cheese tortilla dish that was very good. And their veggie, bean burger is good too. They have an outdoor deck in the back that is near the water, under the bridge. Service is good.

    Holy amazement... this place has some freakin great beer. Just go already. The Rauchbier, which is smoky, is one-of-a-kind and any hophead worth his or her salt needs to try it. Highlights include... everything. Seriously. Local brewing in Ashland - what's not to like? These guys are killing it. The wings were pretty epic, too.

    Nachos are great. We went for the beer sampler. All beers were good, but decided on the the Ashland Amber. Pretzel was good. They forgot the burger, but made up for it with additional fries. A pile of fries for that matter. Main course is the taco salad. Next time either nachos or taco salad. Not both.

    Came in for a late lunch with my wife and two small children and ended up having an early dinner. I have to rate this place at both ends of the scale. Caldera has just opened at their new location in Ashland two weeks ago. The building and decor are nice. First the good. I give the beer and food a 5 star. They offer a large amount of unique and tasty beers brewed on site and on tap. All sampled were divine. The food menu was okay. Heavy on pizza and limited for sandwiches and entrees. Though, what we ordered was enjoyed by all. My salmon stuffed ravioli was excellent minus the mound of asparagus that came on top of it. My wife's smoked salmon salad was very good. My kids pizza, pretzel, and sandwiches were all good. Now the bad. The service and wait times were horrible. One star. We were promptly seated and then waited 15+ mins for someone to come over and ask us what we needed. We ordered everything at once fearing another long absence of wait staff. We didn't see our waiter again for 40 mins. He said our food would be up soon. Ten mins later our food came. Total time from seating to eating over 1 hour. Our kids were complaining about hunger for so long. You'd think they would bring something out for the table to snack on given the wait time. No such luck. Our check was dropped off and I actually had to track someone down to pay the bill when no one came back after 10 mins. Long story short this place has great beverages and good food. However, they need to resolve the kitchen issues and train the wait staff to be more customer centric. Probably not the best choice to bring kids either.

    This is a great brew pub. Lots of beer choices. My girlfriend always gets the Ginger Beer... I'm a fan of the Oatmeal Stout. Also, cap off the night with the "Mogli" (named after a black lab) - it's delicious but a few too many and you'll be falling on the floor. Go here for the beer. The food is good too but the beer is better.

    The best brewery in Oregon...on the west coast...actually, the best brewery in the US. Maybe it's the water or the hand-craft genius of this particular brewer, I don't know, but this beer is exceptional. I love the IPA and the Ashland Amber but the Dry Hop Red is the BEST! If i could find it in the bottle I would have Caldera Dry Hop Red bottles strewn from one end of my yard to the other. I would have them displaying wild flowers throughout my house. When looking for barley inspired libation, ask for Caldera. If they don't have it, demand they get it.

    If you are a serious beer lover and find yourself in Ashland, Ore., you must go to this place. Hell, if you're anywhere near Ashland, Ore., you must go to this place. Best beers I've had on our West Coast trip, and frankly better than any I've had in our home area around Boulder, CO. The Hop Hash is a hophead's dream. And the Mowgli ... chocolate + beer = delicious. Don't waste your time at the other brewpub in town (as we did). Head straight to Caldera. This place is a beer lover's paradise.

    Caldera is my favorite place to grab a beer. If I want good food I go to Standing Stone. Some people might call Standing Stone pretentious, but I appreciate the attention to food there. The food at Caldera is pretty standard bar fare and the service isn't really that great either but the beer is OUTSTANDING and the vibe is cool. They also book great music....From Ashland Amber, to Mogli, to Lawnmower lager you will find me here almost every Summer weekend.

    My friend and I were staying in Ashland as a stopover on our way up to Seattle. We didn't get to our hotel until about 9 and were looking for some good grub and ambiance after a long day's drive. Found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try. Located near Main Street, the tap house is just as cute as it's surroundings. With the lighted patio and Al Green background music, it was just the place we needed to relax, recharge, and enjoy a brew and a burger.

    Okay, the bonus is that the food was worth the wait and the beer was spectacular... however, the rest was sub-par. We went during the day because it was gorgeous out. The deck and tables were dirty and dusty with cigarette butts on the ground. The place was PACKED but only staffed by a bartender and a cook. Amazingly the bartender did a great job, but we had to wait 20 minutes before finally venturing inside to see about a server, then when we found out there wasn't one, we had to wait in line at the bar for 20 minutes to order. The food was relatively fast to come out and delicious, but then 20 more minutes for beer refills, then he lost our ticket so it was another 20-30 minutes of waiting to pay. A lot of waiting... Maybe they weren't prepared for a beautiful March weekend, but I find that surprising!

    Holy Moly! That was the worst service. I always rate positive at least 95% of my reviews. This is my first one star. We only ordered 2 drinks and veggies and hummus. One hour later we had our drinks and they brought chips and salsa NoT our item ordered. I think they understaffed so I felt bad but went to my show hungry

    Our first stop in Ashland, and this place was close to our hotel. The wait to get our food was really long, but I have to say it was worth it! I had a veggie sandwich and cup of beer-cheese soup, mom had a salad as high as Mt. Hood, and my picky daughter had a meat calzone. We were ALL blown away. So much so that we came back the next night. Told the server we were in a hurry for a play that evening, and she got us handled right away. Had a BIG bowl of the beer cheese soup (yes, it was THAT good). Ordered their "brew"schetta - which was the 2nd best I'd ever had. Daughter got the truffle mac N cheese and mom got the gnocci which was unlike any I'd ever seen and she absolutely raved about it! That said - if we were drinkers we would probably love this place. We did try 2 of their house-made soda's (LOVED the ginger-ale). It was rather loud and I think under-staffed, but the food was very reasonable (both nights under $50 for all 3 of us) and the variety of items were great. I would recommend this stop anytime in Ashland.

    I vaguely recall being here in the 1980s when it was a Rogue Ale House (or something like that). This Water Street location (by the creek and below the Indian Restaurant) is still a nice place to go for a wee pint. There are food offerings, but they clearly take 2nd place to the generous beer selections. When we were last here, Gayle and I sat inside on a rainy day. This time around, we took a table at the smaller of the 2 deck sections in back. This is a nice shady outdoor seating area, but I wish it was closer to the creek, similar to the front entrance. We shared some Hummus and a couple beers. One was a nice IPA and the other was a fantastic porter with chocolate and coconut accents. The Caldera Tap House s not fine dining, but for this Midwest boy who grew up in friendly neighborhood taverns, this place is the bees knees.

    I gave two stars based on the atmosphere. The beer and pizza was OK. The other food and service was horrible. We stopped in for lunch on our way back to the Bay Area from Portland. We went on a recommendation. When we walked in I was overwhelmed at the bottle collection and people enjoying there food. At first site we where stoked and looked very promising! No guest taps or bottles. Kinda bummer. A couple of the beers where decent. We were on the second round of beers and realized we hadn't even received our appetizers we ordered almost an hour ago. My buddies started getting angry. Me being the cool one of the group went and asked for management. Over an hour to wait for food on a Friday afternoon is not cool. Waitress tried to blame the kitchen, yet she only checked on us twice the whole hour we waited for our food. After everything my chicken sandwich came with guac when I asked for no guac. Only one out of four of us like the food we got, which was the pizza. Real let down with this place. On to the next.

    Ok, I had issues. But still. While not a snob about beers ("Is it beer? Good, I'll have some."), I do like finding something I hope I'll like. Our waitron was very unclear--again, at least to me--about the difference between the "list of beers we make" and the "list of beers we are presently serving," even after I picked three beers in a row they were NOT serving, the waitron was unclear (again, to me) about the difference between the "beer menu," and the "Beer Menu." So there's that. Eventually had a Double Red Ale, delicious and good. Went as a nice counterpoint to my Caldera Burger (juicy, hot, perfectly cooked to order, great bun. No mayo tho, had to ask; it was delivered quickly. The steak fries. One word: no. Just don't. Clearly food-service industry steak fries pulled out of a freezer, dumped in a fryer and...well, you know. Huge portion of giant Lincoln-log pile of plank-like truck stop steak fries. This is not a compliment. Just no. My dining companions had the tots, which were delicious and über-plentiful. Their portions each were more than enough for all of us. I skipped the aforementioned potato planks and shared their excess of crispy, yet tender, tots. A future visit could easily be 4 stars. Not this time tho.

    I'm a fan of their beers. Any of the varieties are very tasty! We were able to hang out on a couch sipping the assortment of mini beers (see photo). They also have little board games while you're waiting for stuff, so we traded trivial pursuit questions (again, I appreciate this because I'm a nerd). The food was your run of the mill bar food, the beer is the standout. Nice mellow joint to hang out after seeing a show or shopping around. I'll be back whenever I visit Ashland.

    On a 90 degree day there is no better place to hang out than the shaded patio at Caldera. Plus they love dogs in this generally dog-unfriendly town. Caldera's own brews are very nice, plus they are open-minded enough to serve an excellent selection of other beers, too.

    We visited this brewery on a recent road trip because an acquaintance said it's "Pilot Rock Porter" was like no other, immaculately crafted, and overly delicious. Not the case, in my opinion. It was average at best, a solid b-, which is better than the other brews sampled. (I did like the dry hopped red sample) On the more positive side, the pizza was delicious. Lots of options for making your own pie. The decorative set up inside with all the bottles is cool too. Good location for those passing through with the hotel set up. The service wasn't horrible, and the bar tender was pretty mellow. In the end, not a bad place to check out, just not for me.

    Caldera has great beer in a lot of different styles and a decent assortment of menu items to choose from. One thing though that I feel is ubiquitous across the two Caldera locations in town is a lack of service and attention to customers. Often it can be 15 - 20 minutes of sitting before the one or two persons working comes to acknowledge you. Additonally I don't know who programs the Caldera point of sale system. It's got to be the worst I've ever seen. Employees claim it doesn't split checks out, split items between more than one credit card, or itemize. In 2014 those seem like pretty basic featurs of a point of sale. One wonders if those restrections are invented on the spot or owner imposed.

    Their Pilsner beer is so yummy and refreshing. The tots are a must and the burger was good but could have been better. The Bacon was a little too salty and the salt added to the burger was a little too much. But the service was amazing. We had a great time and the outdoor seating was really nice. The outdoor decks are where the action is on a Summer night. The decks are fun if you ignore they are under a street underpass near a parking lot. These are not the cute decks on the river that are nearby. Anyway, it's all about the beer and Caldera doesn't disappoint!

    Great atmosphere. Outdoor seating on a couple decks and yes, there are outdoor heaters. There is a creek running by. Indoors it's a bit dark, but it's a pub. What do you want. Small stage area for live music, etc, although the two times I've visited it was in the afternoon, so no live music happening, however, during yesterday's visit, they were projecting this 1971 video of The Performers doing all kinds of crazy skiing jumps. Excellent beer drinking music on the stereo. Stones, Zeppelin, and other classic rock mixed in. Great service. Very relaxed. Attentive but not oppressive. Good food. That's my only reason for knocking off a star- some food items can use improvement, but nothing was bad. On our two visits here, we tried the fries, burgers, bbq pork sandwich, mahi mahi sandwich, and nachos. All were good but not outstanding. Great beer! We usually sample every beer a brewery has to offer, and Caldera has 20! A sampler tray has 5 beers, and it costs $6. So we had 4 trays. Favorites: Lawnmower Lager, Hop Hash, Hatch Chili Ale, Coffee Brown, Mowgli Porter, Coconut Chocolate Porter, and the Vas Deferens Ale (would love to know the story behind that one). I love this place and although I don't pass through Ashland very often, I plan to continue to stop here every time I do.

    Kathline. A butterfly in the wind, a gorgeous soul in a delicate frame. The rush was all around us. Ashlandians, Oregonites and us out of state folk took refuge from the world on the Caldera Tap Room Patio. The sun bore through the trees and leaves over the gossiping creek as we basked in the shade of a quiet overpass. Timid as she is, Kat floated to us a delicious plate full of Cajun Style Tater Tots with ranch and a few mildly hoppy beers while we poured over a menu of biblical proportion. The sinister scent of a savory sandwich surrounded my soul and transcended what it means to be consumed in broad daylight. IN PUBLIC NO LESS! A chill slipped down my spine as the words spilled from my tongue and lip, dribbling down my chin and into the air. "ONE EXTRA STINKY HIPPIE PLEASE." falling softly into her ear and causing such elation as to drive her to giggle in that way a forest fairy might whisper you a secret or a lie. The sun began to sink and the firefly lights grew bold and impatient for the coming night. Upon arrival of our food we made sure to order a secondary beverage as they only warranted 3.50 from my purse. The cheese the sourdough, zucchini Caramelized onion and avo spread soon overtook my body and mind. Combined with the Forthright power of ranch dressing I began to weep gently into my steak fries. (also good). I boldly plowed through bite after succulent bite. Cherishing every morsel of edible pleasure and began to realize the eternal majesty that this blessed woman had bestowed on my life and the lives of my three compadres. The small matter of the bill was at first a welcome sum. The task of dividing up said bill became a nuisance, then a frustration, then that shit turned into a neutered priest riding a bear and everybody knew it so we solved the conundrum by getting 4 beers on the house and being fucking angels to our beloved waitress whom at this point in her career was more frazzled than a hung over fuzzy wuzzy in the dog house during exceedingly dry weather. The sun had sunk low and as we filled our growler and gathered our belongings I thanked my lady and fell into the sweet Shakespearian Ashland sunset. May we meet again some day soon.

    I think some people are confusing this location with their new brewery and taproom. This is the more chill brother of the two, I'm assuming. Beer was good -- we tried 3 samplers of almost everything. Some were great, some were not as great. The IPAs were solid (though the one we really wanted to try was surprisingly out) and anything dark (the Mogli was quite good). Anything lighter was more of a miss for us. Food was just average -- typical pub food. The fried chicken sandwich was basically chicken strips between bread (is this a new trend?). Tots were a bit too crispy for me but GZ likes them that way. Hot wings were not super hot but enjoyable anyway. Service was surprisingly good. We sat on the patio and there was one waitress working -- we got our food in reasonable amount of time and she was serving all the tables on the patio. Very friendly and remembered our order (this says a lot in Ashland apparently).

    Visiting from Southern California I had to make my way to Caldera as we only get 4 of their beers in So Cal. Oh man am I glad I stopped in. 20 plus taps of great beer? Hell Yeah!! Great outdoor atmosphere with a good vibe? Hell Yah!!! Beer flights at a good price? Hell Yah!!! Good food to pair with the already amazing beers? Hell Yah!!! Have to get another carry on bag cause I packed my luggage full of 22oz Moglis? Hell Yah!!! My mother in law will be shipping some more Moglis once I run out. If your on a pub crawl in southern Oregon and pass this place you messed up....bad!!!! CHEERS!!

    It's to the side of the downtown area where the most of the action happens. It's partially under a bridge and next to a creek. There's 80's and 90's American rock music playing moderately loud in the background. The crowd is all ages, but mostly late college to early adult. Dress is casual and outdoor sports oriented. Outside, there are little tables at multiple elevations on a wooden deck lit with light ropes and shaded by a few trees. Dogs are commonly resting next to their owner's table. Cars and bicyclists move slowly up and down the one street visible from the deck. People drift in and out greeting friends before moving along. Inside, there is a small bar, high and low tables, and a couch before a gas fireplace in a room lit by dim yellow lights. There are books to read, games to play, and even books and toys for children. The decorations consists of alpine skiing memorabilia and beer brewing awards. Everywhere, the vibe is very mellow. Even the restrooms are chill. They're labeled "Ale" and "Lager." You just have to pick one and lock the door. This is a taproom so the beer is the focus, not the food. There are always around 10 beers on tap all of which were brewed right there. Nonetheless, the menu is adequate and about half the entrées are vegetarian. All are reasonably priced. If money's tight, try on of the fresh pretzels with mustard. It'll keep you going. It's the perfect place to recover after a hump-day trail run in the mountains above Ashland.

    I'm glad I found this brewery before I left Ashland on my road trip because it was possibly the highlight of the trip! I was hoping that this cute town would have a special brewery to match and this is definitely the one. Most memorable beers were the Rose Petal Golden Ale - a unique and complimentary version of the style and the Mogli - one of the best Chocolate Porters I have ever tried. Took plenty to go with me on the road.

    I love Caldera!! Toasted Coconut Chocolate Porter is amazing!! I love how welcoming the servers and bar tenders are there too. Lots of great beers and good food to choice from! Look for live music on the weekends. If you visit Ashland definitely stop by Caldera for a local handcrafted brew!

    This place RULES. Yeah, we all know the beer is good, but everything else is great too. The food is solid, and not too expensive (their nachos feed 3-4 people easily - and they also have tater tots on the menu - boss!). The service is quick and friendly, they have music every weekend or so (not that Ashland has the greatest music scene, but still), and the decor is sweet. Love this place, and I'll always come back here all the time, even if it's on the opposite side of town.

    Well, we were a party of twenty and it took over two hours before we got any food. This was only the fourth day they were open. The waiter was a little confused at times and seemed a little afraid to keep us updated with times. We had to hunt them down. They did comp all the beer that everyone drank and the food was tasty, maybe because we were so hungry. Will I ever go back? Sure. I'll give them another shot next time I'm in Ashland.

    My out of town friend and I ventured into CTH, to check out the scene and the beers. We were served by Mike, who was awesome, and gave good consults on the beer choices (and was just generally a positive guy and positive vibe on the place). While the 3 rather eclectic bands started warming up, we sat at a back table to take it all in. Although it's a bit dark, it is a brewpub, and I think the scene is in accord with the funkiness that is Ashland. We got charged a $5 cover, which at first I was a little reluctant about, but for 3 bands and collectively about 20 band members, I think it netted out to about paying a quarter per musician. While I would say the first band should really have paid me to listen to them, the others made up for it. But really - I was there for the beers. They were great. Here's my snapshot of them. - Rauch Ur Bock. Honestly, this is a love it or hate it style beer. Me? I love it. It's smoky goodness in a beer...I think of it as a peaty scotch-like beer. If you like Lagavulin or Ardbeg scotch, then this is probably your beer. I've never had anything like it, so big props on this one. Had to get two of these on the night, it was so unique. - Mogli. Served in a 10 oz. glass to comply with the law (how cool is it for them to get to say that), the Mogli is a unique experience. It's like a nutty, bourbon mocha glass of goodness, meant to be sipped. Maybe it is technically a beer, but you won't necessarily think that. My out of town friend liked it so much that he ordered 3 of them. Not sure I should have let him drive home. - Hopportunity Knocks. I think I would have liked this more if I didn't disable my taste buds from an order of the Caldera Hot Wings. It's not that the wings were that spicy, but they did impair my ability to give a fully accurate review. That being said, I liked the HK plenty, but couldn't differentiate it much from their standard IPA after the wings. - IPA. I would say that this is my go-to standard with Caldera. It's a good, solid IPA, that I would be perfectly content with overall. Although I like amber beers, I find that Caldera's Ashland Amber is just not as good a flagship beer as their IPA. Yep, this is definitely a well-balanced drinking beer. - Pilot Rock Porter. If you want to venture darker, but can't quite get to the Mogli, then their Porter is quite good. I confess as one of the last beers of the night after all of the above and the wings, I can't give this a full rundown, but I did think it was smooth and not as heavy as some Porters come across. If you appreciate fine craft beers, the 20 taps should alone be enough to motivate you to go to CTH. It's really a great little hidden gem on Water street, and a fun overall experience of the Ashland scene. I strongly recommend, if beer's your thing.

    Had a wonderful meal. Started with stuffed mushrooms and the peppers with cheese & chips. IPA was great. Entrees we had the mahi mahi, salmon, truffle burger, Hawaiian pizza and kids Mac-n-cheese. All were a hit. Left stuffed and happy. If you want to enjoy having a conversation with the adults at the table suggest to the kids to count the beer bottles around the room.

    I can't NOT review this place. My boyfriend and I are regulars, I suppose? The Hopportunity Knocks is my absolute favorite. It's hoppy, strong and delicious. It blows Standing Stone away. We love the pretzels here and always order them. They are basic, but they know how to make 'em right here. The Dirty Hippie sandwich is popular with my boyfriend, and I love their super spicy hot wings. They aren't the breaded kind (phew!) and they make your lips numb, so if that's how you like them, come here and enjoy them! The place itself needs a little work primarily in the lighting dept. They keep it brightly lit till like 9pm and THEN they dim it. Keep it dim all the time! It's so much more relaxing. They have a great beer garden in the summer that seems to be family friendly. The service here is spotty. There are 2 main waitresses: one is great, the other is a bit of a flake but she's friendly enough. Caldera is about what you expect from a local pub: a bit grungy, hit-or-miss service, but the beer rocks and the food is pretty darn good overall. The live music is fun too!

    This is about as chill a spot you can get in Ashland with cool people and even cooler beer. I have been coming to this place for years and will stand up and testify to my fondness for it. The girls here are one in a million, with a relaxed vibe and a friendly spirit. Don't be surprised if you end up feeling welcome. If you've enjoyed Caldera before then you know it stands out against any beer. I suggest you do a sampler if you don't know what to get. True craft beer. Yum. As far as the rest well...cheap happy hour pints and a spot for dogs on the low deck makes for a perfect stop. My only suggestion is a local's call for a menu upgrade. Other than that, rock on.

    Had the White Truffle burger ....to die for !!! Delicious and the Mogli Blue Cheese Stuffed Mushrooms to die for....next time I am in Ashland...I'm back.

    Great pulled pork Cajon tots and ipa... Cool vibe under a bridge. Beers named after deceased pets. Does it get any better?? Only with other ipas. They have those too!

    The best brewery in Oregon...on the west coast...actually, the best brewery in the US. Maybe it's the water or the hand-craft genius of this particular brewer, I don't know, but this beer is exceptional. I love the IPA and the Ashland Amber but the Dry Hop Red is the BEST! If i could find it in the bottle I would have Caldera Dry Hop Red bottles strewn from one end of my yard to the other. I would have them displaying wild flowers throughout my house. When looking for barley inspired libation, ask for Caldera. If they don't have it, demand they get it.

    If you are a serious beer lover and find yourself in Ashland, Ore., you must go to this place. Hell, if you're anywhere near Ashland, Ore., you must go to this place. Best beers I've had on our West Coast trip, and frankly better than any I've had in our home area around Boulder, CO. The Hop Hash is a hophead's dream. And the Mowgli ... chocolate + beer = delicious. Don't waste your time at the other brewpub in town (as we did). Head straight to Caldera. This place is a beer lover's paradise.

    Holy amazement... this place has some freakin great beer. Just go already. The Rauchbier, which is smoky, is one-of-a-kind and any hophead worth his or her salt needs to try it. Highlights include... everything. Seriously. Local brewing in Ashland - what's not to like? These guys are killing it. The wings were pretty epic, too.

    Nachos are great. We went for the beer sampler. All beers were good, but decided on the the Ashland Amber. Pretzel was good. They forgot the burger, but made up for it with additional fries. A pile of fries for that matter. Main course is the taco salad. Next time either nachos or taco salad. Not both.

    Caldera is my favorite place to grab a beer. If I want good food I go to Standing Stone. Some people might call Standing Stone pretentious, but I appreciate the attention to food there. The food at Caldera is pretty standard bar fare and the service isn't really that great either but the beer is OUTSTANDING and the vibe is cool. They also book great music....From Ashland Amber, to Mogli, to Lawnmower lager you will find me here almost every Summer weekend.

    Hubby likes his beer.. so we hit Caldera after dinner at the creekside. I didn't like my ginger beer... more beer than ginger... Hubby wasn't keen on his Marzen.. to top it off... there was an Irish Jig Jam session going on... just not us...

    Love the beers, hate their hours. We breeze through Ashland twice a year and cannot always make the not open till 4 pm. BUT when we do we stock up. Excellent beer in cans? Perfect hot tub beer (no glass). We always come home with a few cases of the IPA, bottles of Rauchbier and anything else that strikes our fancy. And fill up the growlers please! Opening before 4 on weekends would give this place 5 stars. Had apps once and they were very good...... Now if I could just get Mogli out of the house.......

    Nice taproom, even better beer! Friendly staff, but kind of a small space. I recommend the Old Growth Imperial Stout and the deliciously resiny and piney IPA. Food was pretty good and reasonably priced... we had onion rings and a taco salad.

    Best brew pub on the West Coast. Awesome town. Cool people. Great beer. Out of control. The Caldera Tap House boasts 20 taps, including an amazing chocolate, bourbon, oak-aged imperial porter called Mogli. This is the sort of place where everyone seems to be friends. The lighting's intimate. There's even a fireplace. And if you're just passing through the [awesome] town of Ashland and feel bummed that you can't get some of these brews on your store shelves (Caldera only cans and sells 3 types of their brew), don't worry, bring your own sealable jar and pay just $.18/ounce to take your favorite tap brew to go. Really...

    What a fun place. This place has a HUGE selection of beer and really good food. It's set back in a corner and worth finding it. Beer was great. I had the Helles Lager. Sky was my server and she was awesome.

    Amazing beer, low prices, great environment, lots of local talent music shows. What's not to love?! My all time favorite bar in Ashland. Never had any of the food but I've heard great things and am very excited to go for a dinner sometime soon! They have something for everyone- down to three different environments.... Old school wooden homey side, classy section with couches and a fireplace, and a large patio for outdoor dining!

    Came in for a late lunch with my wife and two small children and ended up having an early dinner. I have to rate this place at both ends of the scale. Caldera has just opened at their new location in Ashland two weeks ago. The building and decor are nice. First the good. I give the beer and food a 5 star. They offer a large amount of unique and tasty beers brewed on site and on tap. All sampled were divine. The food menu was okay. Heavy on pizza and limited for sandwiches and entrees. Though, what we ordered was enjoyed by all. My salmon stuffed ravioli was excellent minus the mound of asparagus that came on top of it. My wife's smoked salmon salad was very good. My kids pizza, pretzel, and sandwiches were all good. Now the bad. The service and wait times were horrible. One star. We were promptly seated and then waited 15+ mins for someone to come over and ask us what we needed. We ordered everything at once fearing another long absence of wait staff. We didn't see our waiter again for 40 mins. He said our food would be up soon. Ten mins later our food came. Total time from seating to eating over 1 hour. Our kids were complaining about hunger for so long. You'd think they would bring something out for the table to snack on given the wait time. No such luck. Our check was dropped off and I actually had to track someone down to pay the bill when no one came back after 10 mins. Long story short this place has great beverages and good food. However, they need to resolve the kitchen issues and train the wait staff to be more customer centric. Probably not the best choice to bring kids either.

    This is a great brew pub. Lots of beer choices. My girlfriend always gets the Ginger Beer... I'm a fan of the Oatmeal Stout. Also, cap off the night with the "Mogli" (named after a black lab) - it's delicious but a few too many and you'll be falling on the floor. Go here for the beer. The food is good too but the beer is better.

    This place turned out to be a hidden gem! My sister and I were pleasantly surprised to find a table on Super Bowl Sunday in clear view of the big screen - after the game had already started. Great beers, and it will take many more visits to try them all! The wings were great - really spicy, the way we like them. The hummus was really good, but there weren't enough veggies...just way too many chips. I need to come back and try more of the menu-looking forward to it!

    The beers were quite good...after waiting 10 minutes to get them. We were going to order some food, but after waiting another 10 minutes to order we decided to go elsewhere. I agree with another review...oblivious. Do the servers all toke up before work?...that is kind of what they acted like. Good beer, terrible service.

    "Hubby likes his beer". Shaddup Beth. This little hole in the bridge kept us fresh as Georgia peaches on our return to the land of underage cocaine abuse and home foreclosures (NE Idaho).. Thanks to the anti-retard service from a sweet young LSD enthusiast by the name of "Kat", we were on our way to culinary pleasure and a continuation of borderline alcoholism in a matter of seconds. Soon the Cajun style taters were delivered, prepared hot and served tastefully on a cod piece prepared from ground up "Unicorn Thumbs". Like Native American culture, the sun was soon raped, pillaged, and forgotten about as the small, vulnerable city of Ashland began to buckle under our demands of chicken sandwiches and more water. The bums that live on the bridge peered at us through large shrubberies with a look of bewilderment and fascination as we lazily spilt and spit up devastating amounts of food and booze as all white middle class hooligans tend to do. For desert: a discounted check, and a tender smile and wink from the once breathtaking-I'm-sure waitress. With each vibration released into the bench seat of table 62, I think our hearts got just a little bit bigger, and we understood a little bit more about what it's like to live in a world where 4 dogs such as ourselves can fall in love with a Kat.

    Very good beer, but nothing earth shattering. Rauch beer is worth a try, very interesting but the smokiness and slight sour taste of burn can be overwhelming. Great location, but ambiance is a bit lacking. Our server was constantly complaining about her allergies, I could do without stories of phlegm and uncontrollable sneezing from someone who is delivering my beer. Skip the food unless you are on an all day session and are in dire need of sustenance.

    If you want to get away from the tourists and enjoy a really good selection of micro brews, this is the place. I loved the Amber and also enjoyed the IPA. My wife enjoyed the Red Pot Ale. The food we have eaten there is plentiful, good, and affordable. We are vegetarians and have had the nachos, which include beans. We also had a cheese tortilla dish that was very good. And their veggie, bean burger is good too. They have an outdoor deck in the back that is near the water, under the bridge. Service is good.
