Awesome food, great service! Really great Thai food. Easy to get to. Better than Albany deserves.

Has to be one of the worst lunches I've had in a very long time. The slices of chicken were riddled with fat and gristle. Small servings. Only four other people in the restaurant and we waited 5 minutes between the two different entrees arriving. On top of it the cost was way too much for a lunch menu.

I've had MUCH better Thai food, in fact I thought this was more Chinese than Thai. It may be that this restaurant features a cuisine from a different part of Thailand than what I'm used to. I missed the traditional yellow, green, red, etc. curries. Other than the cuisine, the food arrives lukewarm--it was cold by the time I finished. There's a much better Thai place further east on Pacific Blvd in Albany.

5 stars for our waitress, you could tell she was young and inexperienced but she was so sweet and attentive. 4 stars for the interior decor, looks like a decent Thai place. But the food was not good. Portions are very small and expensive. The menu was so bizarre and the chicken soup thing they bring out before your meal was cold and flavorless. We also asked for a hot sauce like siracha but they didn't have any, really? I hope they re-work the menu and lower prices because it has potential. But till then, we'll stick to Tum Tip downtown.

Well. We always try the new restaurants when going out, just in case. This place was the former Mongolian type bbq and the food was soso. It's now flat out scary! It has not been remodeled or changed in any way, first bad sign. Next the wait staff look at you in either bewilderment or surprise as to why you would come, second bad sign. They were very friendly and helpful which justifies the 1 star. But obviously not very experienced. The menu is very poorly organized and there isn't an item less than $11, average price is $14. Horrible to say the least. Each of our meals came at a different time and mine (seared ahi) came 10-15 minutes after the first meal....? It wasn't seared it was cooked through and the meat tasted like it was freezer burnt. My sons pork looked disgusting and he couldn't finish it ( he's a college athlete who always finishes every meal) which shocked me. It's sad because we normally go to Corvallis for eating out due to the few options in Albany.

So tried it saturday night, was greeted nicely. The wait staff was very inexperienced, but trying. It probably was not a good sign when one of the owners was going around table to table to inform us about hickups and time delays. The complimentary soup was okay. And then the great wait began. We arrived at 5:15, and after 30 minutes our order was taken About an hour later our food began to trickle out. It was room temperature. But i was very hungry. It was pork belly deep fried, it wasnt bad. Everyone at our table seemed to like their food. Now durning all of this six tables left. Its sad everyone lives for a time to destroy a business. Yes it took way to long , the staff is very inexperienced. But give them a chance

Since it was free because of what happened last time, I am giving it a high rating. This time service was real fast though the food was just ok for that price

Enjoyed my experience. I had the Pad Thai and my boyfriend had the Tiger Cry. Beautiful presentation and great flavor. The first time I had Pad Thai was 7 or 8 years ago in Portland (Oregon) and I have not found anything comprable in the mid-valley. This fit the bill. Light with great flavors and very different (in a good way) from the Pad Thai I've had elsewhere. Tasted the Tiger Cry and was impressed with the depth of flavor in both the beef and the hot sauce it's served with. Finished our dinner with the mango ice cream made from real mango and coconut milk.

My friend and I saw that this place finally opened; we love to eat out and gave it a try. Decor was nice and the place was eerily quiet. It was lunch and we ordered ginger chicken with vegetables and green curry. The waitress was nice, clearly new and not at all trained. Staff seemed nervous around manager. In a word, the food was awful and oddly expensive. There were essentially no vegetables in either dish and could not find any ginger. The food was barely edible. We told the waitress and she told the manager that did not seemed concerned. The manager did not attempt to talk to us and there was only one other active table. We paid and felt very stupid that we didn't check Yelp until after our experience. I see no way that this place will survive.

Do not go here. We went with a party of 6. After being seated we waited 15 min for water to be brought to the table. We expected menus to accompany the water but instead we had to ask for menus. We waited a total of 40 min and nobody came to take our order. We ended up leaving. The menu is way too large, horribly written and laid out, with pictures (which I hate). The prices are outrageous for Thai food in general, and especially for Albany. $15+ for a dinner dish is just stupid. Upon leaving we provided our feedback to the owner/manager who was apologetic and told us that we should have told her. She said they were busy but when I looked around, there were several empty tables. Speaking with other customers, we found a general consensus that the service is severely lacking and the menu is way overpriced. Go somewhere else. This restaurant won't last for long without properly trained wait staff. I can't comment on the food since we didn't want to wait over an hour to eat.

Like many others reviewing on here the service was very good. While the staff appeared to lack experience, they were very pleasant and almost appearing to be apologetic, I didn't know why...until our food came. This was by far the worst food we have ever eaten. I took literally one bite and that was more than enough, no second bite, no to go boxes, just was ready to go. I actually called House of Noodle to order a take out as we were leaving here. I seriously feel bad for the servers as they were very good at checking on us and refilling our drinks. (I feel bad for them because they likely will be unemployed very soon). While the decor was nice, the prices were high and the menu was very confusing and not very good either. The last 30 minutes we were there I felt like I was on an episode of Survivor. Back to House of Noodle and Tup Tim.

Don't bother going! Not one thing that was worth it. If I could have I would have given it negative stars. Please don't waste not only your time, but money. Won't be around any longer then 90 days!

My wife and I were the first customers on opening day. That is probably a mistake. This restaurant has a long way to go to keep customers returning. I will give them the benefit of it being their first day and the staff in the front of the house and the kitchen need training. The menus were much too long and were not identical. It was difficult to know what was in each dish. There was no beverage menu. The prices were higher than other local Thai restaurants. It was more difficult because the server did not know the menu. I lived in Thailand for a year, cook Thai food at home and know something about good Thai food. We ordered two standard dishes Pad See Ewe and a Massaman Curry. We were given a complementary soup of chicken brother with glutinous rice and some ground chicken or pork. It was bland, but okay. My Pad See Ewe was bland with a sweet dark soy based sauce that was otherwise flavorless. It had broccoli and carrot, wide rice noodles, scrambled egg, and small pieces of chicken. There wasn't much sauce and the noodles were somewhat gummy. There were no peppers at all and there were no condiments on the table. It was not a good dish. My wife's curry was a red broth with one large chunk of chicken in a bowl with some carrots. She had to ask for a knife to use to cut the chunk of chicken. We asked for rice to go with the curry and were brought a large bowl. It was a satisfactory curry. As we talked with the server about our disappointment with the food and offered constructive suggestions I took another bite of the Pad See Ewe and as I chewed I felt something in the piece of broccoli. I nearly swallowed it but managed to fish it out as the server watched. It was a metal wire that was about three inches long. The server received our suggestions graciously and said he would make sure the cooks knew our concerns. He took the wire to show the manager. Two Thai cooks came to our table and smiled and thanked us with a Thai wai. I returned the greeting, but when I tried to tell them what I thought needed improvement they continued to wai and smile and said, "Thank you," in English. I had the impression that they didn't speak English and had no idea what I was saying. One cook returned and said, "I am sorry," apparently referring to the wire. The manager never appeared. I will see what other reviews are like in the coming weeks, but will not return for a while. They need more time to work out some of the kinks in a new restaurant.

I came in for lunch today with my boyfriend. My first impression was that the interior of the restaurant was very nice. We were greeted by a few girls in the front and megan was our server. The menu looked like a picture album. It was a very large menu and hard to read, with no organization or descriptions. I was really confused on what I was ordering so I just decided based on the pictures, which weren't too helpful. We ordered the chicken satay as an appetizer, the Tigers cry, and massa man curry with beef. The chicken satay it self was okay, the peanut sauce that came with it was oily and the salad they served was old and brown. They also gave us a complimentary soup. It was a really small bowl and looked very unappealing. It also didn't have any flavor whatsoever. Our food came out after maybe 15 mins. The Tigers cry was good, but a really small portion for 12.95. It was also served with the wilted brown salad. My curry was too sweet. Not enough veggies and was also a small portion for 12.95. The portion and quality of the food was not worth the price. the ambiance was okay, to me the seating arrangements seemed kind of awkward. There was also a lot of people working for the amount of tables that were occupied. A woman was sitting at the desk in the front, I identified her as the owner. She never said hi, or smiled. She just walked around making noise with her shoes. I also saw her online shopping, for quite sometime. All in all my experience at this restaurant was bad. The woman owner needs to step up a little. She can't have teenagers doing all the work, and it doesn't help that she isn't nice or talkative. We won't be back not worth the money.

I met a friend there for dinner on 1/17/15. I was late, and he had already been waiting for 45 minutes when I arrived. He had already ordered, so I expected my dinner to take much longer. Oddly enough, after another 45 minutes we received our dinners within several minutes of each other. When we finally got the food, I thought it was good. Better than other Thai options in the area. I had a beef dish, and my buddy had some sort of shrimp thing (sorry, I can't remember the names). They were very fresh, and well spiced. Cooked just right. The soup was also quite good. My buddy had some sort of sweet Thai Coffee thing, and it was good. This place is not going to make it if the service (mainly the kitchen) remains so slow. My buddy was almost late for a play, and had to eat very fast to make it. So, I hope very very much they can pull it off! They seemed to be staffed well, and both owners were working, so it should not have been so slow. Roidaw is a new place, so It may be just working out the kinks. Good luck to them!

My friend told you our second experience (free of charge). Now, I'll tell you why we got it. Grant it, it was their first week at the time; so I'll show some grace. I'm sharing this mostly out of comic relief. The place has a fine interior making you feel like you are in Thailand. So authentic, that the men's restroom was labelled "man." The three of us got seated promptly and were served a chicken-rice porridge-like soup. It was not good, but they have greatly improved later. We ordered our meals. The people that waited us (emphasize on the word people) were very friendly yet bewildered. There were too many wait staff as they are there refilling water or going back and forth from the kitchen to the dining room. We were asked for refills of our water 8-9 times. Best place to get water! You'll never go thirsty! After about 45 minutes, our orders did not come yet. We were busy looking at the wait staff go back and forth with the music from Benny Hill playing in our minds. The owner apologized for the wait and gave us free Thai pastries as a token of penance. We also saw a beautifully carved watermelon to curb the customers' impatience. Perhaps another 30-40 minutes passed, and out food finally arrived. I had the Tiger Eye which was a very good medium-rare cut of beef that supposed to have Thai herbs but were underpowering. My friend got something (Pad-sae-ew) with chicken and the other something vegetarian. They commented on the bland chicken and overall blandness of their meals. One of the owners and a waiter asked how was the food. I told them the honest truth (my meal at least). We got 3 free meals as another token of penance. Read Aditya T.'s review for the second experience. Overall, it was a good experience in a fact that it was hilarious. The owners have the desire to make a good restaurant, but they do not have the knowledge of that yet. When it comes to a restaurant critique, don't go. It's not worth it for a quality restaurant experience. Even now although they have improved over the weeks, it is not enough to stand for much longer. If they greatly improve, the restaurant would have a good future. Two stars were given due to the friendliness and determination of staff. Food and experience alone would have make the score lower. DISCLAIMER: EVERY EXPERIENCE IS DIFFERENT. NEVER EXPECT FREE FOOD FROM ANY RESTAURANT.

Same review as the others, 1-1/2 hour wait for food, no complimentary soup, lukewarm food, but the icky part was the food itself. My son ordered a curry soup type dish, all it had was the curry broth loaded with grease because the chopped up chicken parts appeared to have been boiled in the broth with nothing else, no vegetables or anything. But then the first piece of chicken scooped up to eat had a large strip of boiled chicken skin hanging off. Everyone knows boiled chicken skin is very slimy and unappetizing. This is probably "authentic" but here in the US we don't eat chopped up chicken parts that include grissel, skin and fat. this was a $15.00 dish! My dauthter-in-law ordered pad thai noodles over a bed of bean sprouts, they were very dry, not much sauce or flavor with chopped up chicken pieces on the side. She had me taste the chicken and it had no salt, no flavors, and that was a $14.00 dish - no color to the dish. My $15.00 dish just included a handful of deep fried pork strips with a sesame coating and then a very small salad to the side. The two little sauces in dishes were the thai sweet chili sauce and some homemade sauce that tasted terrible, like beef boulion with vinegar or something, terrible. My husbands dish had more flavor but it was the stir fried vegetable with chicken, well the mix of vegetables were nonexistent, not much color to the plate, lots of bean sprouts, this was a $15.00 dish. Then soft drinks are refillable, I ordered regular ice tea and after 1-1/2 hour wait I needed two of them, I was had 2 charges of $3.00 each for my ice tea; however, I told them I was not paying for 2 ice teas; everywhere else I go ice tea is refillable just like the pop. All in all, the staff were all inexperienced, the owner was going around to tables troubleshooting, the owner wife never left her seat at the cash register, many people got up to leave and now I wish we had of done the same. We will never go back, I guess I don't like "authentic Thai Food"

We had friends come up from Arizona, and we all decided to try this new Thai place. Unfortunately our experience was less than pleasant. Our waiter needed to know our drink orders, before we even had a chance to sit down at our table, and my husband needed to wash his hands, so he was not there to order a beverage. We then ordered our food. Two of our dishes were delivered incorrectly, and we had to wait for the correct food orders. We asked for another round of beer, but we were actually told that the owner had left the building, and the waiter could not serve beer without her there. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? We asked several times for the dipping sauces, but when they arrived I was horrified. See attached images. One dish had something that looked like mold growing on the surface of a liquid, and the other three were empty. My chicken dish was so over-cooked that it was inedible, and I ate the appetizer as my dinner instead. How can you screw up spring rolls, right? I am not sure what is going on with this place, and for a new restaurant, they should be trying harder. $52.94 for food that was horrible, over-cooked or not the right food? And no beer? NO BEER!

Lunch was excellent, food was authentic and service was fast and courteous. The price value was outstanding and I plan on making this a regular stop for lunch and dinner. It's about time we has some great Thai food in the area! Thanks.

When I heard that Thai House Roidaw was open, I looked for an opportunity to give them a try. Unless I hear they have GREATLY improved, my wife and I doubt we will return. Our server was very polite and helpful and offered suggestions, which was a good thing, as the menus need help. We couldn't tell which picture went with which description. Some of the pictures helped, but many of them were skewed/stretched, so we couldn't really tell what we were seeing. After he'd taken our order our server offered complimentary chicken rice soup. It was bleh. Even adding black pepper did not help it. I've had good Pad Thai. I've had good Pad See Aew. These were not. They were bland. The noodles were gooey. Normally when my wife and I eat out, we take home leftovers to have for lunch the next day. Tonight we left over half of both dishes behind. The serving staff was attentive and kept checking to see if the food was okay or if we needed drink refills. When our server brought our bill, he didn't bother to see if we were ready to pay. It's a good thing we're honest, as the bill he brought only charged us for the drinks.

I was surprised at how much the server tried to talk me out of what I was ordering! The curry was good, but the menu is poorly organized and the service is inexperienced. The place is empty.
