    This place has really gone downhill since Beth bought it. The staff is still great but the food is not nearly as good as it used to be. One thing that I get on a regular basis is their turkey and cheese croissant. How does someone mess up that order you might ask. The answer is simple, by only warming the meat part way and not draining off the juice so that it makes the croissant soggy. Another issue is that they no longer put very much turkey on the sandwich as they used to. Since the change of ownership I have attempted to give them multiple opportunities and the quality of food has not gotten any better. I understand that the new owners might be trying to cut back costs but if they continue to sacrifice their products to this extent they will end up losing more customers.

    Now that I've read the other reviews, I'll have to try their cake(s). I always get the Bonnies (?) Crunch Salad when I go there & it is always delicious. Lately, I've been getting it in a wrap, just to make it easier to eat, and it is even more delicious. I usually get an Italian Soda... and those are delicious as well. At some point I'll break free from my usual... I suspect other things are delicious also.

    Came here the other day when I was too lazy to make lunch for work. Got the soup and salad combo which was an amazing deal. No house salads here! I got the veggie salad which was packed with garbanzo beans, broccoli, cauliflower, and other delicious veggie goodness! The barley and veggie soup was perfect for a gloomy day as well. Service was quick and I love how cozy it is inside! Plus they have this amazing rotating cake display which looks absolutely delicious! Must try soon!

    We ended up at this place by accident and it was a happy mistake. We ordered New York cheesecake, cherry cheesecake and german chocolate cake and all were tasty. I also had an iced mocha that was better than any I've had at a chain and cheaper too. We had a baby with us and was pleased to see a highchair available even at a small establishment.

    It is my pleasure to give Sidekicks 5 stars!!!! With living out of state & trying to plan a party in Albany, it was challenging to find & more importantly TRUST menus online. Beth [the owner] was AWESOME!!!! She took my call at 6:45am on Tuesday [the party was the following Saturday] as she must be frantically managing the morning crowd or prepping for it, and guided me toward some appropriate dessert suggestions. We took her advice & Sidekicks TOTALLY hit it out of the ballpark! Everyone loved the dessert bar tray & the Lemon Gourmet Cake was BEAUTIFUL!!! Total hit, totally yummy, and VERY affordable! Thank you!

    I had them make my wedding cake and make sure that I stop by every time I'm in oregon. I haven't tried their coffee but their cakes are truly incredible.

    They just started serving cupcakes, I recommend the Bday Cake but the S'more looks yummy too. I really like their bagel sandwiches, or the cesaer salad in a wrap. The food in awesome and consistant, plus the owners are some of the nicest Albanites. The coffee is good, I prefer their chai smoothies though.

    The food and beverages here are among the best offered in town. More specifically, the salads are my favorite. The restaurant could easily get five stars but very often when I go here I notice I'm slightly overcharged for things or my order isn't correct. Often the price I'm charged fluctuates because I think the girls believe it's a certain price and write it down without actually looking at the menu. Most of the girl working there get the order right but I can think of two specifically who are pretty consistent at messing it up. Otherwise, the food quality is so good, it's worth the extra $.50 or $2.00 I'm overcharged.

    Always my place when I visited Albany 2005 and beyond and enjoyed it once I moved there. Great salads, cake and sandwiches. Love the drive thru for coffee too! A nice place for lunch mainly and the service has always been great. Went in today for a visit since I have moved away and down from Portland and in dire need of a latte. Still the same friendly place. Would love to see a redo as it's needed it for some time. New carpet, paint etc. Still four stars for being there when I needed and wanted you!!

    I got to the Albany train station about an hour before departure, and the Amtrak CSR directed me over to this cozy little cafe. Coffee was delicious, and the wi-fi was free, so it was a great pit stop before a 5 hour ride to Seattle.

    Only good experiences, a little pricey, but I'll pay it for a good cup and hood service! Keep it up! :)

    I always get great food at Sidekicks. My favorite lunch in town is here - the Bonny's Crunch salad. So good! Today I got great drive thru service, even after they didn't have exactly what I ordered. Great job!

    A couple friends and I were looking for a place to sit back and have some cake and coffee, doing a search provided us with Sidekicks. I can't say I am overly impressed, at all. We arrived shortly before 7pm, not knowing that they were close to closing. Initially I looked around the small seating area and thought "We'll never be comfortable in those little booths." but that did not matter since we were told we would be getting our orders to go. The glass displays had quite a few cakes (most of the pastries had been long sold out) and I asked the cashier if they were homemade or not. She looked at me and flat out said "No, we buy them from Ray's." This was a huge disappointment. My friends selected a slice of cheesecake and huge chunk of the peppermint chocolate cake. I settled on the Black Out. Because we were expected to take our baggie and leave at this point, we drove over to a park and sat down amongst ducks to dig in. Unfortunately, the consensus was that it was bought at Ray's, and it tasted like it was bought at Ray's. I see absolutely no reason why we had just paid between $4.00 and $4.75 for a slice of grocery store quality cake. I ate about a quarter of mine before it went into the trash, it was not worth taking home.

    WOW! TOTALLY impressed. We went to get a light healthy lunch and got way more than we bargained for! Small, quaint, delicious, quirky, and absolutely delightfully delish. I highly recommend the strawberry lemonade and a roast beef sandwich with onions. Mmmmmm... P.S. ask for Daily (sorry if its misspelled). She is sweet, helpful, and totally deserves a raise! ;}
