My family and I have been coming to this restaurant for years, I remember going when I was very little actually with my family. I am now an adult with my own kids and I must say I don't dine here often. I decided to order take out a few day ago and I had such a bad experience I really don't want to go back and dine here again. First I called and placed my order to go, my order was simple 1 Large egg flour soup, 1 large hot and sour soup and a side of chicken fried rice. Very simple order, 15-20 min wait they said. My drive there was about 15, I go inside and pay and wait. I look around and see that there is only 2 waitresses working, and 2 tables dining. Both tables WITH their food already and another person waiting on their to go order too. Another 15 minutes go by and still waiting on my order, at this point I'm getting impatient, the guy before me gets his food and I wait ANOTHER 15 min. REALLY it takes 45 minutes to scoop out soup into a cup and rice in a container? These are remade foods that should not take that long to box up. Irritated I take my food and go home only find out that they messed up my order. I received 2 orders of hot and sour soup instead for 1 hot and sour and one egg flour! How can you mess such a simple order up?? It's been 5 days since I had placed my spare hot and sour soup in my fridge in hopes that someone else would eat it. Nope its still there full and it is such a waste... I was so upset I called my sister who loves this place as well, she had told me that recently she had a similar experience there with her food mix up. She had dined there and ordered a egg flour soup and it never got to her. After she had the rest of her food she asked for it again. Once she was eating they brought her 2 soups when she only had asked for the one, then they charged her for it. She also said another lady had a complaint about her food being mixed up as well. I used to love this place and I used to recommend it to anyone who asked about it, but I has definitely lost it's touch.

Well, that was disappointing... We had visited AB previously and were really impressed with the food. We thought we'd try delivery this time. They let us know it would be an hour wait. No worries, it's a Saturday night and that should be expected. Seventy minutes later, we get a call to let us know they had been really busy and our order hadn't even been started. They wanted to give us the option to cancel. We took that option. By this time, I was hungry and pissy. I didn't like the way this was handled. Maybe call us earlier? I don't know. Like I said, hungry and pissy. Their food is good enough that I'll give them another try. To go!

Ordered take out. The food came. Minus a whole combo. Called to tell them, lady offered credit. We wanted the food. The food we did receive was yummy though. Service not so much.

Tried this on a recommendation, and we were very pleasantly surprised. The hot and sour soup was delicious, as were our entrees (orange chicken and Mongolian beef). The service was quick and polite. I would highly recommend giving them a try. I think this is the best Chinese food I've had in Albany.

WIRE FOUND INSIDE MY EGG ROLL. Last night we purchased food from AB Chinese in Albany OR. The food started out good and the girl friendly. Today, I attempted to eat a left over egg roll. Towards the end I was shocked to find a half inch piece of WIRE in my mouth from inside the egg roll!!! I called the restaurant and was very nice telling her what happened. She simple said come in and bring me your egg roll and the wire and I'll give you a new one....... I told her I did not want a new one and would like to be refunded for my meal. She said no, only the egg roll because the meal was fine. I said I almost broke my tooth on a piece of wire in your food and you're not going to refund me? You know what she says?!!? "Go to the doctor and get a receipt and bring it to us about your tooth and we will pay." I asked if I had swallowed it and been rushed to the hospital would they have paid the thousands and thousands of possible dollars spent to fix my throat. She said yes maybe...Maybe?!? I told her she has terrible customer service and I would never be coming there again. How would it be easier to pay for a dentist/hospital bill than to refund me the $25 I paid for the meal???? Awful awful customer service. Be careful going here.

Small restaurant, slow service, decent food. The first impression that I got when I walked in was, "Wow, this place is small!". It looked promising with at least 5 of the 9 tables being occupied. We waited about 5 minutes before being greeted - first person being a regular who actually had to tell the worker that we were waiting to be seated. When we were finally seated, we decided to order the low mein (wet noodles) w/BBQ pork, moo goo gai pan, and hot and sour soup. Soup came out first in about 10 minutes time since ordering. As described by my bf, it was pretty sour - as it should be - but not enough tang. We ordered a large bowl to share and finished it off as our entree was brought out, which was another 10 minutes after the soup came out. The portions were not overly impressive but not too small either. The moo goo gai pan was better than expected, and the low mein was good, but I was disappointed to see that they used yakisoba noodles instead of egg noodles. Like most standard Chinese restaurants, the service was not so great, but it being a Chinese establishment, I wasn't surprised. They did check on us once, when we were close to finishing dinner, though they didn't ask if we wanted a refill on water. It's worth trying since everyones preference is different, but personally, I may just be doing take-out from now on. Pros: - Food is good, but not great. - Good lunch specials! - Bottomless drinks! Cons: - Service was poor. - Takes a while for food to come out (it's a small establishment, and probably a small kitchen, so this is just more of FYI than a complaint).

Service was fairly quick, but I'm assuming that's because there weren't many people in the restaurant when we first sat down. Prices weren't bad for the large amount of food I got for the combo I ordered (I have leftovers for lunch tomorrow now). Flavor of the beef & broccoli I ordered was pretty good too. The only downside was that the waitress didn't come to fill my water glass until we were ready to leave, which I'll give her slack because I think she was the only waitress there (taking orders, serving and collecting money from the looks of it) and by the time we left the number of tables occupied had doubled.

My boyfriend and I opted to try this place on a monday when our choice chinese restaurant was closed. We ordered orange chicken, general tsao chicken, pork fried rice, hot and sour soup and egg flower soup. We took advantage of their delivery service which turned out to be the only positive to our experience here. The food was Ghastly! We could not tell the difference in the two chicken dishes. They tasted nearly the same. There was little to no sauce and the breading was soggy. The soups were devastating! The egg flower, though edible lacked flavor. The hot and sour was too horrid to eat, and thats saying a lot because my boyfriend will eat almost anything! The rice was the only thing I enjoyed and that was after a heavy dose of soy sauce. To end our experience our fortune cookies were stale. We will give this place another try because the luxery of delivery is scarce in Albany. The prices and portions are decent but the food is below average

The price and portion size alone give this place 3 stars but that is it. The food is wayy worse than Panda Express. The service was sometimes hit or miss, but if you want cheap Chinese food, and a big portion, this is your place. Don't think I'll be back though.

The only reason I am giving this restaurant 2 stars instead of 1 is because I didn't get food poisoning. It took an hour and a half for delivery. The food was subpar. I've had better Orange Chicken from Panda Express and the Safeway Deli. They must be using their oil too long because all of the chicken tasted like old, burnt oil. The chicken was surprising. By surprising I mean sometimes it was chicken and sometimes it was a ball of breaded chicken fat and gristle. Never eating there again.

It's kind of a small restaurant that is easy to miss. It may not look too inviting from the outside, but it is worth a shot. The fried rice was great, better than most places in Albany. Their menu isn't anything out of the ordinary, but it's a nice place to get something for take out while you watch a movie at home.

This is the best place to get Chinese food. The waitress are friendly. The food is always hot, fresh and tasty. You can dine in, get food to go and they even delivery for free. What more can I ask for (: I love this place!

Great service but the food lacked. The chicken in the dishes were fried to a crisp. I don't mind lightly fried but the nuggets of chicken in the entrees were hard.

Not the greatest selection of Chinese foods but definitely has all the common dishes that people usually enjoy. The food was okay, as I was not blown away by any means but cannot complain either. That being said the food is very reasonably price and the place has fantastic service. The people are very friendly. I would return again.

With so many Chinese food places to choose from, I'll cut to the chase: best orange chicken I've ever had. I could just end the review now. :) When I was in high school, my parents used to order take-out from this place all the time, and I wasn't that excited about it. While in town visiting my mom a few weeks ago, she suggested we eat here; she still goes all the time and raves about it. It was actually my first time dining in there, and I wasn't expecting much. Let me tell ya - the food has most definitely improved. I had the aforementioned orange chicken combo plate, and we ordered crab puffs for the table. It was all fresh, fantastic flavor, there was so much of it, and the combo plates come with more than just fried rice. The hot tea was very flavorful. I ate until my pants needed to be unbuttoned (but don't worry, I didn't do it), and still had enough for a full lunch the next day. The staff were so friendly, knew the regulars by name. I'll be looking for nights to get down to visit my mom so we can go eat here again! Given that my mom eats here regularly, I know my great experience wasn't a fluke!

Absolutely the best Chinese food I've ever had in my life. My dad and I came here, and right when we walked In, the lady (I think she is the owner) started talking to us like old friends. Next, we ordered General Tso Chicken, and an extra side of rice. It all comes out family style in HUGE portions. We brought some home with us. The complimentary tea and egg flower soup is fantastic as well. You MUST come here.

This restaurant is humble, but clean. I had the cashew chicken combination plate with Egg Flower soup. My soup came out immediately. It had a good consistency and a nice taste, but definitely needed salt and pepper. My meal was delivered to me right before my soup was finished, which I always consider to be a mark of attentive service. And the portion sizes were huge. My cashew chicken tasted very good, full of fresh vegetables and a hint of fresh ginger. The sauce was tasty without being overpowering. The pork fried rice was average and a bit pedestrian, slightly bland but perfectly cooked and tender. The BBQ pork was excellent, it did not have the creepy red dye #5 on it like so many places do (I don't know if they do but it just don't seem natural). This pork was obviously marinated and slow cooked because it was tender and the meat had a good taste throughout. The fried shrimp had a good tasting breading that tasted lightly of honey, but overall it just seemed average and the breading was a bit under-cooked in the middle. The service was friendly and very attentive. My meal was reasonably priced for under $11. I would totally come again to try some other dishes.

I was introduced to AB Chinese a long, long time ago. General Tsos: Deep fried, sauced nuggets of chicken. Tangy, zesty, slightly crispy. After all these years it is still the best I've ever tasted.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
