Healthy Meal suggestions for Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt

Great frozen yogurt place, and that is coming from a guy who lived in the land of Pinkberry, the widely known king of melamine fro-yo joints. If you ever wonder why all frozen yogurt places name's are like: adjective-followed-by-natrual-thing, it is because of Pinkberry, and if you've never been- you pull your own low fat frozen yogurt into a cup and they have a lot of toppings. There is a load of wicked good yogurt flavors and the toppings are not just crushed candy, they also have fresh and dried fruit, sunflower seeds, and (love it) fruity breakfast cereals. So you can make any crazy combination of yogurts and toppings and you just pay for it by weight. If you wanted, you could be a freak and get just a tub of blackberries or gummy bears. I never do that but I think about it. I've been here a few times, it seems like this place is so slow more often than not. I'm surprised this place isn't way more popular. I figured between how good their fro-yo is and the fact it is pretty low fat people would flock here in the heat. Maybe they would be busier if there were more foot traffic, but I can't blame Orange Leaf for that whole side of Norman being completely un-walkable. I can, however, blame the franchisee for packing it in behind a tire store on Lindsey, instead of, oh, say, anywhere near the university, and as a result, it is slow, the product turns over less, and the ice cream socialization experience that is half the fun is not there. Hence, 4 stars. It's so easy to get carried away with your yogurt concoction, my only advice is: look at all of the yogurt flavors and toppings first, then try to stick to a theme. Don't think you are going to be able to keep your coco pebbles and white chocolate on one side and your grapefruit and kiwi on the other side.

I'm not sure if maybe this location has gotten new management since the last reviews in 2012, but I did not have as great of experience as everyone else. I know it's OK owned but new management can still come and go. The outside patio and front of store were really dirty, like actual pieces of trash. No outside trash cans, which was really inconvenient when you're eating outside. The potion cups are huge. You're options are either large or extra large. I just feel like that's a pretty huge waste of paper when I only get a few ounces. No original flavor (as in plain or tart). Bummer. That's what I wanted. The poor girl working at the register was fairly new and said it was her first day flying solo and she wasn't ready. We weren't able to get our recipes because she couldn't figure out why it wasn't printing. I felt terrible for her! The spoons are like paddles. Very weird. I used to go to Orange Leaf in the city when they first opened years ago.. I feel like I would remember weird paddle spoons. I don't know. I guess overall just a totally mediocre experience, which was unfortunate.

Finding a good froyo treat can be difficult. I'm not picky, I just enjoy good frozen treats, with friendly service. Orange leaf has a bunch of flavors ranging from caramel apple, cookies and cream, to just plain tart. I wasn't impressed with their flavors. The fancy ones were WAY to sweet. I could compare it to opening a bag of sugar and just adding water and drinking it. Even their sugar-free vanilla was super sweet. I'm kind of on a health kick, so I tend to lean more towards the healthy flavors and got the sugar free vanilla, I can't do the smell of the plain tart. Smells like what I assume drinking a whole glass of spoiled milk would taste like. I was disappointed in there selection of fresh fruits. They had strawberries, raspberries, a couple melons, and thats it, the rest was pure sugary garbage. last month I would of totally been down for all that other stuff, but as I'm getting older my metabolism just isn't the same and if I even just look at that stuff I gain weight. With that said, if I were part of that company I would definitely add more fresh fruit and healthy mixings. It's self serve, you grab the size bowl you want and fill it with what you want, be careful if you're on a budget because paying goes by weight. more weight ='s more money. The decor is very hip and trendy and I like it. although I'm a giant and some of their tiny tables don't accommodate me. The place was very clean. They also have outdoor seating. ut eat fast because it's a million degrees outside and your yogurt will melt! All in all a 3 star review is what this will be. As I wasn't to impressed and I have had better frozen yogurt. It's close by so if I get a craving I'll hit it up, but I won't go out of my way to feed my addiction here.

The best yogurt in town, and the staff is very friendly! This is definitely where our family will go for our sweet tooth :-)

Amazing frozen yogurt, huge selection of toppings, decent prices and they have a rewards program. 4/5 though, because the in restaurant furniture is stupid and mostly uncomfortable. Give up the space age, post-modern furniture nonsense, and just get some comfortable seating for a 5/5.

I like this place. Every time we have been there the staff have been friendly and the fro-yo has been yummy. Their mix-ins bar is pretty extensive as well and it always looks fresh and well stocked.

I felt a little embarassed when the young man working at Orange Leaf recognized us. I asked him if we went to Orange Leaf more than anyone else. He smiled and said, "you guys come here a lot". What's not to like? There is a wall of assorted froyo flavors. Then, there's the buffet of toppings. If you want a waffle cup, you can have that too. I am a fan of their wedding cake, birthday cake, chocolate, peanut butter, vanilla, cookies and cream, and red velvet (I generally like the sweeter flavors). The toppings can be healthy with their berries, or you can keep moving down the healthy scale to mochi, sugar cereals, and pieces of candy bar. If you want to take it up a notch, there are all sorts of syrups at the end right before you weigh your cup. Bear in mind that you pay by weight (currently 42 cents an ounce). Between my husband and I, we generally end up with a $7 to $8 bill. If you sign up for their rewards program, you get a $1 off after you spend $10. They also have free wi-fi and clean bathrooms.
