I held out for way too long. I kept hearing great things about this place but I live a little ways from Norman and haven't been able to stop in and try a donut. We went on July 4th after all of our firework fun (bonus star for having such great hours!) I tried 2 donuts, one was the Bart Simpson which was a chocolate cake donut with butterfingers crushed up on top. It was really good. I think the cool thing is there is so much unique selection here past your chocolate, glazed, and maple selection you find at most other donut shops. My second donut was a white cake donut with sprinkles and a frosted animal cracker on top. It was the best sprinkle donut I've ever had. They have so many specialty donuts that it won't be hard for everyone to find something to try.

I want to like Hurtz donuts, I really do. But I don't, I just don't. And I've given them 5 chances. Literally 5 trips worth of cold, bad donuts. Gourmet donuts are HUGE in Dallas and I was stoked to see them making an appearance in OK. But these aren't exactly gourmet, small batch donuts. They are cold, old tasting cake donuts topped with candy and cereal. Not exactly creative. The donuts always look sad in the dark case. The glaze are a weird yellow color and don't look nice and shiny and glazy. The donuts are always cold and generally hard as if they've been leftover for a day at least. The staff is nice. So.. That's good I guess. Out of the flavors I've tried, peanut buttercup has been good. One day. It was moist and delicious. So good, that I went back the next day for one and this one was cold and hard and old. And gross. Eh. I'm not giving it a 6th try. Can't do it.

Very mediocre donuts. When you see them in the case you think, oh theses are going to be good. Uh, no. They really need to work on the donut base then fancy it up with toppings. Speaking of toppings, all of the cereal toppings were soft, not crunchy at all. Kind of off putting when you take a bit. Don't waste a drive (for us 30 mins) or money ($15 for a dozen), go to Dunkin or Daylight or something like that.

A new donut company that puts cereal on top of a glazed donut, calls it a new donut, and makes bank you ask?? Why yes. What a clever idea. While this may be true and hurt donuts has broken the barrier in Norman in an all too familiar fad that has already been sweeping through other parts of the country for several years now, they do still make some delish and relatively unique donuts. You're sure to find something you like. Try em out and if anything, get some bacon and maple like the rest of America.

I had a 3.5 star, but not 4 star, breakfast at Hurts Donut with my son for his fifth birthday. We went around 8:00 on a Tuesday morning. It was nearly empty when we arrived, but then a ton of students came in around 8:15. I am guessing it was orientation day at OU or something. There are plenty of places to sit, a large TV, and the place was clean. It's minimalist in its design, which is fine with me. There was a guy posted up in the corner with his laptop, so I presume they have free wifi, but I didn't confirm. My son got the cotton candy donut, I had part of a bacon maple bar, and we split a Jesus donut. They have several bottled beverages in addition to a fountain. The fountain became a major point of annoyance for me. I asked for a chocolate milk for my son, and a cup for ice water for me. The woman at the register responded that they had bottles of water in the fridge. I said I just wanted a small cup for the fountain. I was then told they don't have water in the fountain. The only way to get water is buy the bottled water (which was Nestle as I recall). I don't think I've ever seen a fountain that didn't offer water. I think that cups of water should be free, but I understand the cups aren't free. So, if I am charged a quarter or something for the cup, it's annoying, but I pay it. But, to not EVEN HAVE THAT OPTION was a first. So, I got my fancy bottled water and down we sat. The bacon maple was good, I liked the frosting and there is a TON of real bacon on it. The donut itself was a little stale. I liked the Jesus donut much better. This is unusual because I am not a huge cinnamon guy. But, this was a great cakey donut with lots of frosting and a dusting of cinnamon. I'd order this again. My son loved his donut, but it had sugar, so there was little chance he wasn't going to like it. Overall, this place offers some nice innovations on standard donuts. But, they aren't cheap for donuts, so be advised. That being said, I will certainly eat here again.

Overpriced. Smells AHmazing and you gotta love the 24hrs. But to be honest. They are merely a copycat (which is very touching) of Voodoo donuts in PDX. Which are the best. Ya ain't had nothing til you've had vodoo. The magic is in the hole. Lol Beside that, the setup is nice. Staff are friendly. The people flow of purchase and exit is cramped and gets difficult to navigate at times. They have some really fun donuts to try. But let ye be warned; they are so freaking sweet that it will literally make your teeth hurt! I came. I saw. I ate. I conquered. I shall not return for another conquest. There are other local donuts shops that put out better.

I was very happy with my experience. There were a lot of experimental donuts but they also had the classic fritter(phenomenal), glazed, long johns and cake donuts and I loved them. I STRONGLY recommend the fritter! The donuts tasted fresh and were very tasty and incredibly reasonably priced. My only complaint is the lack of advertisement. The shop is tucked away in a parking lot in a dark corner and we had to circle around before we found it.

I had such high hopes for this place since I kept seeing my friends post up pictures of the donuts here. Man, was I disappointed :( Krispy Kreme is a lot better in my opinion. The donuts were so dry and overly sweet. To be honest, most of them tasted the same to me. Maybe it was dry due to the time we went? Around 11pm, but still... The Red Velvet donut was pretty good, but it was very sweet so I got "bored" of eating it pretty quick. I might give this place another try if I'm really craving donuts and maybe at an earlier time. Hopefully, it won't be so dry...

Yum!! A must try. The variety is amazing and very unique. We got a variety box that included fruit loops, smash cereal, blueberry , Oreo, snicker just to name a few. If you have a sweet tooth this is the place to fix it.

The donuts are nice. Each time I've been, I've tried something new and they are all fairly tasty cake donuts so far. You can't go wrong caking something in sugar and candy either. My biggest issue is they have a lovely looking espresso machine but as far as I know, no one there knows how to work it?? I would gladly fork over my money for a latte and a donut but I guess that's not in the cards.

Everyone has been raving about this place, donuts are great , unique flavors with cute names. Service was a little cold, slightly unfriendly. But the worst part & the reason for 3 stars, the donut shop reeks of cigarette smoke. Had to move out to the patio to get fresh air. Overheard customers leaving complaining of same thing. Worth a visit , shares parking lot with chimy's

Bacon maple donut!!!!! Must have.. Soft salty sweet and delicious. The guys at the counter are helpful and very friendly. The variety is great! And you never know what they are going to have. They are 24 hours and keep popping in for a nice treat

I had heard rumors about this place's interesting assortment of donuts & was very interested in trying them. This new donut shop is based I believe out of Missouri but the owner had went to school at OU so it seemed fitting that they would build a facility near their alma mater! The donut shop is located literally just north OU campus in the main area where all the other bars/restaurants are that accommodates the campus The facility is small but very has some interesting stuff inside, fans with 2 blades on them (kinda look like old airplane propellers), a make shift football stand type seating area with a tv (was displaying anime stuff when I was in there), nice comfy couches & was very clean The main reason why Hurts has gained a reputation is their donuts are not your normal type of donuts, they have all different types of unusual toppings on them, such as fruitty pebbles, captain crunch, fruit loops, etc, quality of the donuts were fantastic, the shop had a constant flow of people coming in and out, started making me think they needed to continue making donuts throughout the night! Speaking of which... one of the major pluses of Hurt's Donuts is open 24 hours a day! This shop will do for anyone that is a student doing that late night study session, bringing cool donuts to class for group work, or that person in the Norman area that just wants your out of the ordinary donuts! Definitely give Hurt's Donuts a try! It's yummy and fun!

Disclaimer: I don't do funky donuts for breakfast. And that being said, the glazed are mediocre at best and are served cold. Big on hype, small on quality. Meh.

Dry and over priced donuts. I was really excited and it was really underwhelming. I'll never go back.

Donut fans- REJOICE! This is the mecca of delicious & exciting donuts. I absolutely love the selection that they have & it definitely makes you feel like a kid again. If you've ever been to Voodoo donuts in Portland, then Hurts will be very familiar to you. They have a handful of classic donuts like glazed, frosted and long johns; but if you're coming to this place you just HAVE to try something new. My personal favorite is the maple & bacon long john. This donut will seriously make your heart race from the copious amounts of sugar & sodium & you'll feel like you're dying for a brief moment, but it's totally worth it. YOLO, right? They're open 24 hours for all you partiers or students that are studying- or both. I'm so happy this place is in Norman!

Loved this place! Had a TON of flavors l, had a hard time choosing which ones to try! The donuts were great tasting and inventive! The only thing is the cake donuts were suuuper heavy (still delicious though)!

Seriously one of the best donuts I have ever had. I got a dozen for the family but tried The Homer Simpson donut. It was everything I ever imagined Homers donuts would taste like. This place is open 24/7 would is amazing and has some really cool, unique donuts you won't find in any "normal" donut shop. Big big fan of this place.

Have you heard of the Round Down Rule? Probably not, because I made it up. It's simple. When you're eating something of a finite shape and size (for example, a delicious donut), you cut it into three equal-sized pieces. Now, eat only one of those three pieces (give the other two to friends or family). You've now eaten 1/3 of the food item, but that's under 1/2 of the food item, so you can round down to 0 and it's like you didn't eat the food item at all. Now do this with the multiple flavors of donuts found at Hurts Donut Company, and you'll get to enjoy a lot of the things without consuming any calories. I have not eaten three donuts already in the last 24 hours. It's all about tricking your stupid brain with math. Believe it or not, I actually did really well in my undergraduate math classes... The different types of donuts offered by Hurts Donut Company gives me joy. It's the simple things. Like bacon. Or Butterfinger®. Or bacon. On donuts. It's kind of beautiful. Or evil. I haven't decided yet. There are a lot of variations of chocolate cake donuts, which I totally dig. I'm also a little curious about this donut shake thing. It sounds dangerous, which fascinates me all the more. I have a desire to have a milkshake made using the Andes mint donut. The cereal covered donuts though? Nope. I have no desire to try any of them, especially when it's flavored cardboard cereal like Froot Loops. It doesn't even sound like it would be fun to eat those things. Oh. And open 24-hours? That's kind of brilliant. Detractions: - The decor/design/furnishings are very college appropriate but the chairs are not comfortable. Which... in my humble opinion is an important feature that should be offered to the customer; a comfortable chair for my derriere. This is especially important considering that you're playing an active role in making said derriere larger with the products that you sell. - Some of the donuts are... dry. Womp. - Placards with details on the donuts would help. - The Jesus donut is... kind of wrong. 1) it doesn't make sense, and 2) it's not a "perfect" donut by any stretch of the imagination. - Prices are kind of steep. I doubt that will change, but whatever. I get that it's the novelty of unique donut combinations that gets people in the door, and because of that I'm mostly a fan.

This place has very wacky donuts. They have a variety of cereal toppings, bacon, gravy, marshmallows, pretzels, animal crackers, and more. I got a S'mores donut and the total was $2.16. I would not say that's expensive considering the amount of toppings that were on it. Employees were very nice. The line was kind of long since all the college kids were out at campus corner. Most of them stumbled in drunk. The owners are very smart to open a 24 hrs donut shop next to a college campus! I heard the Springfield, MO location did really well so I'm glad they expanded to OK!

I love the Jesus!! This is a type of doughnut here by the way. I am a sucker for cinnamon so this flavor rocked my world. Other Yums I enjoyed were the Reese's pieces, cocoanut chocolate, animal cookie (the real deal animal cookie with frosting and sprinkles not Walmart baby animal crackers!) I was not a fan of the peanut and pretzel (this needs to be changed to salted caramel Hurts...please take my request) ...and the s'more which I maybe got an unlucky bad one but it tasted straight up burned. All in all I loved the crazy doughnuts here and look forward to coming back for more.

Had super high hopes and was absolutely let down. Aside from the really poor service, the donuts were subpar. I have had better donuts at OnCue after 4pm and on sale. The bacon/maple is worth the try, but they could simmer down on the bacon (shocking, I know). I love donuts, but after my trip across OKC to Hurt's, I was just left somewhat sick the entire day. Really disappointing.

Amazing... Tried three different kinds: maple bacon, Jesus and twix. They were all really good but the maple bacon was phenomenal, like no other donut

Full name of the place is Hurts Donut Company So, this isn't intended to be your standard donut fare. And it isn't. Their primary specialty is crazy-combo, big, delicious, creative donuts. Really, many of these items are more than just donuts; they're dessert adventures. We had the maple bacon. It was more like your standard donut. Very light and fluffy with bacon bits on top. To be honest, the bacon didn't have a lot of salty flavor to it, but this was my favorite thing. IT was really good. We also tried the chocolate mint and the twix donuts. These were awesome, but you'll want to know that the donuts were more like cake than than a donut. I mean, still delicious, but just not a light airy donut. More like a dessert you'd split with someone. The food feels more like novelty than a place to grab a decadent breakfast. But it is quite good and I am happy about the addition to Campus Corner. I hope they do great. We will be back. This would have been a four star review, but they have some minor problems. There is no flow to the ordering process. When they are busy, which they were this AM, you just sort of get in line, which is a bit amoebic and chaotic. The soda fountain is in the worst spot in the entire space, and there is nothing that indicates that you need to get your fountain drink before you place your order (otherwise, you're fighting back through the crowd/line to get to the fountain). They didn't seem to have people cleaning tables, which isn't a big deal unless there are a million kids in there making messes, like this morning. That's more the parents' fault than the restaurant, but still. The ambiance is...quirky but feels a bit cheap. Like they just threw it together. Other issues with this place actually occurred due to how busy it was and how inconsiderate other patrons were. I don't punish HDC for that, but be aware it can be a little annoying when it is crowded. These problems are fixable and I am confident they will address them at some point.

Not to shabby for good donuts. I agree with other people here when they say that cereal and donuts shouldn't be combined. The cereal donuts are too sweet. The store is clean and nice. Overall, I would recommend coming here to get unique donuts!

I like to try something new every time I go. They are all delicious! My fave is the Girl Scout Cookie donut but my husband swears by the Jesus donut

I wasn't too pleased with this donut shop. I love donuts and always willing to try new places or new items. I have been to VooDoo Donuts in Portland and I feel this donut shop has similar ideas. The difference is, the donuts were were not good. I tried two donuts, one with pretzels and chocolate and other one with Andes mints. Between the two I would choose the Andes Mints one. The donuts did not seem fresh. The donut was dry with stale ingredients on top. Both donuts used a base chocolate cake donut but didn't taste much like a chocolate donut at all. I wouldn't return here unless someone wanted to try it.

Ooh I love a crazy donut so when I was just Yelping up Norman while we were visiting this was the main place on my itinerary. I was walking around where the shop is supposed to be and I could smell donuts but I saw no donut shop! But it was kind of tucked into the side of the side of bigger building but there is a big "Donut emergency" truck outside that should have clued me in. I was surprised how many donuts they had in the afternoon, I assume since they're near a college campus they can run a successful 24 hour donut biz, or at least I hope they can! The maple bar covered in bacon was excellent, sometimes people think the novelty of bacon donuts means the bacon doesn't have to be good but this was nice, crunchy fresh bacon chunks covering the top. I also tried the chocolate donut with mint frosting, it was very good! I also tried the s'more donut but it was the next day and it'd gotten a little stale. I shared the peanut butter pretzel with a friend, she said it was good but that the pretzel on top was stale. Another friend tried the "Jesus" donut and said it was indeed heavenly. It wasn't as wildly expensive as some trendy donut places, I was overall impressed.

Probably the closest oklahoma has to a gourmet donut shop. While none are too out of the box, the selection is fresh enough to make you feel like this isn't your mom and pops donut shop. The decor is clean and welcoming and the staff are friendly. The place is open 24/7 so it probably gets nice after the bar crowd lets out. The prices are a little high for the donuts but I would be willing to pay more for even crazier ones.

I really wanted to like this place. The pictures of the donuts looked exactly like what I always wanted. However, the donuts are not great. They try hard, maybe too hard, none of the donuts blow me away. Many of the donuts are sickeningly sweet. I wanted to love this place, but it is a strikeout for me.

  • Jim W.

I went with my brother and his son around three in the afternoon. They weren't busy so we had time to talk with the staff. I found out that a dozen donuts would be $12 if I let them pick what I got and $15/doz if I got what I wanted. That's how it was relayed to me about the premium up pricing. For 25% more I could have what I want. If I didn't want to pay the premium I could have the donuts that weren't very good sellers. If it's not a good seller it may be that it's not a good donut. Two highly recommended donuts are the maple bacon and the Jesus. I was told they were amazing. They weren't. The Jesus was good, not amazing. You really need to have a lot of Faith in a donut to call it Jesus. I'll never be back. They are shady with their pricing policies. And the product DOES NOT LIVE UP TO THE HYPE!

I had their cookie monster donut and it was super cute and tasty. The atmosphere is awesome and it is open 24/hrs. On social media, they are responsive to their customers and very fair. The only thing I had a problem with was the receipts. They are written on a piece of paper which did not look official at all.
