I added cheese.... You cannot imagine how fantastic this sandwich was. I think it's the Miracle Whip. It was so big I couldn't eat it all. And then I did. There's some flavor combination going on with the steak, the whip and the fresh fixins'. I've not found any steak sandwich as good. Supreme indeed! Why didn't the Del Rancho in Allen, TX make it?! I need this more often.

Stopped here for a quick bite when they had 50 % off sandwiches which are Tuesday's from 6 pm to 8 pm. Half off comes to somewhere around $3.50 which is a spectacular deal for the massive sandwich you get. It's almost ridiculous how much bigger the steak is compared to the bun. So far I've only tried the chicken fried steak but I thought it was pretty Delish. It's a simple sandwich with mayo tomato and lettuce but the combo is classic and it hits the spot. I would love to come back to try the chicken fried chicken. So far this sandwich is definitely cravable and I will definitely be coming back. As a side note, I am mega picky about my onion rings. I usually can't stand them. These were straight up awesome though!! Perfect crispness and flavor. My only wish is that they had a sauce for it cause ketchup alone doesn't do it justice. Overall I highly recommend this place for the Tuesdays 50% off deal!

A classic joint that has been putting out good food for years. I don't know that I've had a better chicken fried steak sandwich, and they have kept up the same quality for a very long time. The chicken fried steak sandwich is LARGE, as in it hangs over the bun. Splitting this sandwich is entirely appropriate. The meal with fries is around $9.20, with onion rings it's closer to $10. But, it's a large piece of steak, and it's a lot of steak. You get way more steak than breading. The breading adheres to the sandwich well, and it maintains its integrity as you are eating it. The sandwich doesn't fall apart despite the mayo and veggies. Also, it just tastes great, very classic representation of a chicken fry. Service isn't always the fastest if you go at high traffic times, but that's what you get for quality. It takes time, and it's certainly worth it. Been coming here since before I could drive, and I'll continue to do so.

SUPER expensive for me to feed four people in my family. However, the portions are amazing. I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak dinner and it was yummy yummy! Their fried okra is also delicious and there's so much of it. definitely would go back there

Another Yelp score!! Unfamiliar location needed to some place to eat. Yelp sent us to Del Rancho and it was amazing. Mike tried the chicken fried steak burger. I had the chicken fried chicken burger; both delightful, truly Outstanding! Tots and onion rings were good. Unsweetened tea was perfect. Service was superb. there was even a nice little patio you could sit on if you didn't want to dine in your car like you were in the back in the fifties.

Although I've often made fun of our local cuisine's tendency to deep fry things and cover them in gravy, I have nothing but good things to say about Del Rancho. I go here when I'm in need of a guilty pleasure... And oh man does the Steak Sandwich Supreme deliver that. Basically think of a chicken fried steak sandwiched between two buns and that is what we are talking about here. The bread batter they use is just perfect. This place is a drive-in only, no indoor seating, but from where I usually park I can see into the restaurant and from what I can tell it always looks very clean. The service is friendly and very fast for food that is cooked to order. Also, if you're a fan of some good old-fashioned onion rings try the ones here... They're pretty amazing.

Steak sandwich supreme. I still remember the tv commercial of the little boy ordering one from when I was a kid. And THAT is exactly what I order. Along with onion rings. The portion is HUGE - It would take me 3 episodes to finish it - but so worth even nibbling on a part of it and walking away. This is one of my all-time favorite sandwiches, and my favorite onion rings EVER. I like everything here - but it's so hard not to order the same thing over and over. And if only I had some of the fried okra right now.

I heard the portions were ginormous so the boo and I split a Chicken Fried Steak Dinner with corn nuggets and a dinner salad. We also ordered the cheese fries. The cheese fries were piping hot and fresh. No cheese whiz (thank goodness, I was holding my breath as the boo opened up our take out box of fries) just good ol' melty cheddar cheese *drools* The corn nuggets are not corn bread hush puppies. It's basically a fried ball of creamed corn, which were very tasty! The salad wasn't all that great-- wilted lettuce. Ranch dressing was OK. The chicken fried steak was on the over crunchy over cooked side. Kind of wish I got the chicken fried chicken instead. Oh well, till next time!

This place is a place you just have to try! I did not expect much from here, but when I got my order, which was the steak sandwich supreme. I was amazed at how good the portions were. You get a sandwich that is quite large along with a large amount of fries! I definitely come back here from time to time when I am just craving a good steak sandwich.

Went with 2 of my sons to get the steak sandwich supreme. It had been years since I had one of these behemoths and it was just as good as I remembered. We split 2 of these sandwiches since they are so big with part of one going to their mom. Here's a hint--get a side of gravy use how you wish with the sandwich. We had a medium fry which was plenty for all of us--would have been better had the fries been salted. If you want a blast from the past, this is your place----it's a drive-in, no dining room. You may have to press the button more than once. I'm not sure if it wasn't working correctly or if the lady just answers when she wants.

I drive to Norman about five times a year. Before I head back to Dallas I ALWAYS stop at this Del Rancho and pick up supper. I always get the Steak Sandwich Supreme with BBQ sauce, fries and Dr. Pepper. To be fair, I always almost kill myself trying to drive and wrangle my SSS at the same time. OK highway patrol LOVES me. Is the place beautiful? Hell no! It's a DRIVE-IN. They call the show Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives because there's a general understanding that some places are not meant to be aesthetically pleasing like The Palms. I know some reviewers like to look down their noses at places based on their on preconceptions of what good food "looks" like, but I prefer to focus on how it tastes. And my Steak Sandwich Supreme always tastes great.

This is a favorite of my family. Steak sandwich supreme is awesome. So is the chicken friend steak dinner. They also have really good burgers and tots, if you ever stray from the steak (which I have only done one time). We love this place!

Trashy dump of a drive in. Terrible flavor, nasty facilities, and horrible food quality. I couldn't believe how somebody else rated this place, and I just had to step in. It's disgustingly trashy, and the reasons are listed below. Likes: To be fair, the food is in decent portions. There is at least some flavor in the greasy mess that is a steak sandwich supreme. Dislikes: Over-priced for the quality, which is well below average at best. The steak sandwich is their staple, and it is greasy, over-priced, and not even all that big (though their ads claim that it is). Once upon a time, this chain was decent, but it has been dying a very slow death for well over a decade now. I have seen many locations shut down, and others barely live on subsistence from their redneck, white trash regulars. I'm sorry if you're invested in this place, but there is no way that it merits more than 1 star, especially when you take into account its local competition. Del Rancho has simply become one of the worst chains I have ever had the displeasure to have eaten at.

The staff is great and they have salads and half price fountain drinks everyday from 2-4pm.

  • Carrie O.

Del Rancho does one thing awesome, and that's chicken-fried steak sandwiches. HUGE ones. I don't often eat at DR (which is probably good for my health) but when I do it's always great. They're also open on Christmas Eve, so my mom & sis and I have dubbed it our go-to place after church that night (since nowhere else is open & we're always hungry after the service). I suppose they also do other types of sandwiches, but I've always gotten the steak ones... Definitely try this place if you're a fan of either a) meat, b) things that are meaty and fried or c) things that are meaty and fried on sandwiches. Or just if you want to try a local staple that's been around for years and years!

  • Belinda S.

Whoa....finally tried this place out. Someone coulda warned a sista that the sandwiches were HUGE!!! I couldn't finish it. Wasted money on my fries, b/c I was so full with just have the sandwich. (Yeah, Im one of those weird ppl who eats the sandwich first, then eat the fries). *shrugs* I ordered the chicken sandwich supreme and ordered the steak sandwich supreme for the hubby. The kiddos got the grilled cheese kids meals. The chicken was seasoned well, juicy on the inside and crunchy on the outside. One of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever had. I had a bite of the hubby's steak sandwich and it was super good. This is one of the places that you cannot NOT go visit, but I'm going to have to limit it to maybe once a month. I pretty much ruined my diet! lol
