Food (I've eaten only sandwiches) here is good, but compared to other sandwich places like Subway and Quizno's this place is pretty expensive even though food is not necessarily better. Moreover, you can't "combo" your meal, so expect to drop at least $10 if you get a bag of chips and a drink with your sandwich.

City Bites was the first innovative sandwich place I ever experienced. They have such cool sandwiches with great fresh ingredients. I really love the California Club. Their baked potatoes are awesome too (stuffed with things like pot roast and mesquite chicken [also great on a sandwich!] two of my usual picks). Their cookies still reign as some of my favorites. The peanut butter/chocolate swirl cookie is heavenly! I highly recommend this place. It's been around forever, and even though this is now the only Norman location, there are plenty in the city that are just as good I'm sure (I've been to one and it was identical).

Better than Subway. Easy drive thru and good food overall. Likes: Very good selection of tasty items, including potatoes, sandwiches, and great desserts. It's a very nice small chain with relatively healthy food, decent facilities, and tasty grub overall. I do like their vinaigrette and their cookies a lot. I also enjoy using their drive thru over the in & out technique required at Subway and Quizno's. I've gotta say that the bakery side has some pretty scrumptious offerings. Dislikes: It's not a far cry better than a good Subway location, and it's about the same as a Quizno's. They're not competitive with a top notch deli, but it's a good small chain. You should pay the extra buck or two for their stuff rather than going to Subway, but it's not a great deal better than a Quizno's. I do like the drive thru.

Last time I was there I got a really bad salad. The chicken...good grief. I had my friend taste it to make sure I wasn't losing my mind, but we were both pretty sure there was something not right about it. It was pulled straight out of some water and placed on top of the lettuce, so my salad sat in water. I feel like things have declined at this location and we haven't been back since this incident.

This is a decent local joint, but the descriptions of the sandwiches versus their construction will likely leave you wanting more. I ate a late lunch at City Bites on a Tuesday. It was nearly 2, but there were still about a half dozen tables seated, and a steady steam of customers came in as I ate. The menu is divided between salads, wraps, hot subs, cold subs, and large baked potatoes. They usually have a couple of specials, the Reuben is a constant. So, no matter what kind of sandwich you like, you'll probably find something for you on the menu. I hadn't eaten here in many years, and was excited to find different bread options. I went with the jalapeno cheddar for my mesquite chicken sub. The mesquite chicken is grilled chicken, mayo, lettuce, tomato, melted provolone, oil, salt and pepper. I added cherry peppers. The chicken was not seasoned well. Also, the sandwich was dry, I asked for additional mayo. The bread wasn't soft, it was like it was on it's way to being dried out. Also, I didn't get any jalapeno flavor. So, this was disappointing, as one of City Bites' hallmarks in the past was fantastic bread. The restaurant was clean and there is plenty of seating. Employees were very friendly, and I didn't wait long on my sandwich. I'd say if you are deciding between this place and say, Subway or Quizno's, definitely come to City Bites. My sandwich, which not as good as I remember City Bites being in the past, was still head and shoulders above those places, even when you consider the higher price tag. I'll return.

How is this chain still business. Terrible customer service. SLOW and I mean SLOW customer service For mediocre sandwiches. It takes 10 minutes to make a 6 inch cold turkey sandwich. Sounds like a government contract to me. Haven't been here in Years and I now remember why...

When my boyfriend and I first moved out here he told me I had to try City Bites since it's every where across the city. I felt like a sandwich for dinner, so we stopped by. It was empty--- I don't know if that's a good or bad thing. "Hmmm" I thought. Maybe people only come here for lunch? *sigh* I ordered a wrap. It was their special for the day and came with a bag of chips. I think the BF ordered something similar. His portion was kind of small, but together we only spent 7 bucks. The only downside to this is we had to share a drink. Oh, and there was a cockroach- not sure if it was dead or what, but it was staring at us in the middle of the dining area. Better then Subway I suppose...

Yes, better than Subway in terms of uniqueness and atmosphere. Food is on par with Subway, but I really like Subway sandwiches. Our party had the tuna sandwich, roast beef, California club, and mesquite chicken sandwiches. All were very good. I feel like the lettuce could be upgraded to a romaine or leafy blend, but that's just me. I feel like iceberg lettuce just screams "cheap". The tomato soup was actually very good, but you could tell it was leftovers or a powdered blend base. It was not homemade, but still pretty good. Definitely a great lunch spot.

City Bites gets 2 stars on a curve. If you ate CB in a vacuum with no other factors involved, you wouldn't be disappointed. There's nothing wrong with their food, and the service is generally adequate. However, in the greater context of options, it's far from ideal. At this location, you're within a stone's throw of Cheddar's and Cool Greens, both of which provide a fresher, more value-laden experience for about the same price. (Price, I might add, was the tipping point between 2 stars and 3). My best advice: If you want a basic sub, hit up Subway down the street; you're not missing out on that much. If you want something fresh and local, take the hike across the parking lot to Cool Greens. Either way, and this is VERY IMPORTANT, do not, under any circumstances, continue the rest of your day without stopping by City Bites for a cookie. ...unless you're celiac or on a diet. Then don't.

way better than subway and lots of different good options. i usually get the california club (no sprouts. can't stand the things.) with chips and a drink. the baked potatoes are good too, but definitely stick to your ribs, so i wouldn't get it at lunch unless you've got time for a nap. always clean, never had a problem with the service, and the ppl are friendly. i will say that the drive through doesn't make a whole lot of sense the way they have it set up. it's actually left over from a previous business years ago an they just kept it. better off going inside.

It has been over 6 years since I have lived in Oklahoma, yet I still find myself craving City Bites! The variety of fresh bread, the ginormous potatoes filled with all kinds of yummy ingredients, the spicy ranch...lets not even get started on the delicious, mouth watering cookie selection. I recommend the sun dried tomato bread if you have never tried it. Nom nom nom!!! I was visiting a few months ago and I stopped in to see if the food was still as good as it used to be. I was very happy to find that it was just as tasty as always! It did almost seem like my sandwich was smaller than I remember it, but the flavor made up for it. Oh City Bites, how I miss you!

Wish they still had these in Tulsa. Cheap yet good sandwich shop!
