When I moved back to Oklahoma, from NY, I was disappointed as the lack of really good Mediterranean food until I found this restaurant. The owner, Magid, made my family and me feel welcome upon entering. He also make sure we tried items we'd never tried. He would check on us to make sure the food was what we expected it to be and we were able to give it all thumbs up. Aside from the excellent customer service, the food is also excellent. Don't miss the opportunity for GREAT Mediterranean dishes. Chris Gootos

Very excellent establishment. The food was perfect! I got the chicken kabob wrap with a cup of the tomato basil soup. The staff were great as well! Courteous, fast and adept. The owner was better than most I've seen at checking in customers and making everyone feel welcomed. I wish this was one of my local places and not something only to be enjoyed when in the Edmond area.

Simply Falafel is simply the best. I've had the pleasure of eating here many times and share my experiences with you. This is a family run business and the owner and family are very visible and accommodating. We bring our 10 year old with us and Majid (the owner) is always willing to go overboard and make him feel special. Do NOT miss out on the hummus as it is the creamiest I've ever had. I could make a meal of this alone. If you run out of warm pita bread, no worries as the staff will bring you more so that you can enjoy the whole appetizer. Most entrees come with a salad, and you can choose from a variety of options. I had a combo platter with falafel and gyro (lamb) that was cooked just right. I had a side of couscous. This couscous was larger than I've had in the past, but still great. My wife had a gyro that was large and looked tasty. I wanted to eat hers too. My son had chicken kabobs, vegetables and basmati rice.

Wanted to try a new place and work nearby so decided to come in for lunch, had the Gyro sandwich with tomato soup. Ordered at the front cashier and they brought the food out to me really fast. The menu was pretty extensive lots of different foods to pick from seen other people eating salads that looked really good. But now to my food, they are very generous with the meat and my soup was one of the better tomato soups that I've had. I will definitely try to come back and eat here again and try some of the other tasty looking items on the menu.

Ordered food Togo and got a platter, small portions and the cous cous was under seasoned and bland. Tasted of oil. Not worth the money. The gyro was good but the fries were soggy. The falafel was super dry and didn't taste like anything. Not happy with the quality of food for the cost of the food.

I found this place by accident, but it was a really great thing I did. The food was outstanding and the service was top notch. I ordered the Falafel Platter with basmati rice and a caesar salad. The salad came first and was excellent. The leaves were fresh and the dressing was excellent. Shortly after, the waitress brought out the platter with the falafel, pita bread, basmati rice, and the cucumber yogurt sauce. The falafel was hot, still very fresh. The pita bread was also warm and very fresh as well. I had never tried basmati rice before, but it was outstanding! The whole meal was very good, but the rice was so full of flavor, it was my favorite part. I could have eaten a whole plate of it.

I just tried this love for the first time today. It's now my new favorite. You can choose soup instead of fries with your gyro! Everyone should do that. Food taste great and the service is phenomenal!!

Wow! What an amazing experience! The food is so delicious and fresh. The staff will help you decide what to order if you don't know. The owner is also very attentive and explains what is in each menu item. We took our teenage daughter who is not ways willing to try new things and she loved it. We will be back and I will share with our friends. Delicious!

The kindest owners and staff!!! Greeted us at the door and offered my girls free ice cream! Plus the food is amazing!

Tonight was the second time I had been there. Each time the owner was super friendly and offered my son free ice cream and a drink. The first time I met the owner's son who was very knowledgeable about the menu, and this time the owner even took me into the back to show me his chicken shwarama. I've tried the chicken gyro platter and the chicken shwarama platter with a fattoush and then Greek salad. I enjoyed both immensely and was very full after both. I think what really makes this restaurant stand out is Magid ,the owner, and his family. They care so much about producing fantastic food and have such wonderful customer service. I really love going there! The restaurant is a little small but it is cozy. They also have pictures on the wall of the various platters so you have an idea of what you are ordering, which is a great idea. I'll be back next week!

Fantastic chicken schwarma, hummus, and falafel (gluten-free). I absolutely LOATHE tabouli, but found theirs almost edible, the hubs had no problem eating a pound of it. Great local spot!

Wow! Went here for lunch today and it was delicious! It seemed like the dishes were actually all made in house, as opposed to being frozen mass-sold dishes. I had the falafel sandwich and the falafel was cooked just right! Crisp on the outside, soft on the inside and full of seasoning. My Husband had a lamb sandwich of some type. He didn't remember what he ordered - but he really enjoyed his too. He declared it to be the best Mediterranean food we've had since we were in the Mediterranean. One other thing that made this restaurant more likable was the staff. The owner was walking around the restaurant chatting with customers and making sure everyone was enjoying their meal. He seemed earnestly concerned with the impression his food and restaurant were making on people. It makes me value a restaurant more to know how much pride the owners take in it.

What a wonderful place! My family and I keep coming back here because not only is the food amazing, but the owner, Magid, and his staff bring customer service to a while new level. From the first time I stepped foot in the place I felt accommodated and welcomed. After the meal my son is always offered an ice cream, so he always asks to come back here. Definitely child friendly! The Fattoush Salad is delicious, as are the lamb kabobs.

This is an awesome place to get a quick Mediterranean meal that's a great price for the amount of food you get, and every bit of the food is delicious. Tabouli, hummus, gyro meat, pita, dessert... you won't be disappointed with anything. The menu has a lot of great options but isn't too complicated to understand, and I love how the platters include a side salad with the meal. I also love how they have photos on the wall where if you're not familiar with Mediterranean cuisine, you can actually see a photo of the menu items. The owner and staff are so friendly too, which really makes you feel welcome. My only tip- make sure to order extra pita bread! 3 tiny pieces of pita is not enough to devour a big ol' gyro platter. When I opened my to-go box at home and realized there were only three pieces, I had to figure out the best way to ration it. Overall, I love this place and am happy to see a fast-casual alternative to Mediterranean food in Edmond.

Delicious Greek food! My brother-in-law took fiancé and I here and we love it! Second decision he's ever made besides marrying my sister! Their hummus is so smooth! Everything on the menu is delicious!

Stopped by for lunch expecting nothing special but I was thrilled to find an amazing and friendly staff, quick service, and delicious food. I had the gyro plate---amazing, but a HuGe portion, I could've definitely taken half home! Will definitely come back. It's right next to super target and would make a great stop if you've worked up an appetite shopping.

Felt like I was back in Greece, lunch time right after our couples massage at Cotton Wood in Edmond. Greek salad, lamb kabobs cooked to perfection with yellow rice, wraps in cabbage, grilled veggies, it was great! Wish I'd had time for baklava but we had to scoot. Gloria had a Veggie platter and when my wife says it's good, it's really good! Restaurant was nice, a little cluttered, all guys working, I think it would benefit from a female touch. We will definitely be back!

  • Megan C.

Great, quick food at a good price. I had the falafel and gyro meat combo and it was really good. It came with a big salad on its own plate too, not just a little salad squeezed onto a little part of the platter. The owner was very nice and attentive. He brought us out a complementary dessert and extra yogurt sauce. He seemed genuinely interested in making sure his guests had a good experience.

Love this place. The food is fresh, healthy and tastes great. The owner is attentive and makes sure that your experience there is the best. If you haven't been there, you're missing out.

Fantastic! The owner heard it was our first visit and quickly showed us the kitchen and how he prepared his Shwarma daily. He made recommendation for our meal based on what we liked. We shared a platter with hummus, dolma and falafel with a tabouli and Fatoush salad. Entree was chicken Shwarma with basmati rice and Pita. I am a tabouli fan and this did not disappoint. The hummus was excellent and the dolma was well done also. The Fatoush and the falafel stole the show for me. Both were probably the best I've had. The chicken Shwarma was very good but not unique I'd say and the basmati rice was a little overdone. I really wanted to give it 5 stars because the overall experience with the food and owner were excellent. However, I'll come back again to see if they outdo themselves! Definitely a favorite for us now in Edmond.

Best Mediterranean for a quick bite. Excellent service. Hummus is the real deal. Babaghanouj is mouthwatering with pomegranate sauce drizzled on top. Tabouli salad was good too. Owner and family care about their food. No preservatives are used. Hummus is made fresh daily.

My wife and I were treated to great food and company. Recommend to anyone who happens to be in the area. We will definitely be looking for excuses to go back to Edmond just to eat here again. Best falafel we've ever had

Dropped in here because I was craving a gyro and some Greek salad or tabouli. Ordered the gyro sandwich and tabouli salad. Total was about $10. The sandwich was pretty wholesome. Lots of meat. Very doughy fluffy pita and not insanely greasy! I was happy about that because some places are so greasy I end up feeling horrible after eating! The tabouli was good too. I was impressed and happy to have a place nearby for Mediterranean style foods! I want to try many of their other things on the menu soon. This was more of a grab and go or quick lunch place. I guess what you expect for a gyro place! Overall, and for what I had, it was good.

It seems like 2nd street has lots of chains but not very many local food choices besides Thai and Simply Falafel, so I usually end up at the latter. I really like it, although there are a few things that I wish they would change. Here is the break down: Décor/ambiance- The inside is pretty casual, clean, and simply but nicely decorated. The confusing thing is that there are no signs, but they have a counter with a menu behind it. So customers aren't sure what to do when they walk in. Order at the counter? Have a seat? Honestly, I have done both. There have been several times I have been told to have a seat, given a printed menu, and had someone take my order. Other times I have been told to order at the counter and then someone delivers my food. It is confusing. I would say head to the counter first. Service- It has always been excellent. The owner is always present and working hard. He helps people order, delivers food, and always stops by my table to ask how things were. I love that! I have seen many Middle Eastern people come in and visit with him in their native language (always a good sign!) and he usually has food off the menu that they order and seem to enjoy. The people who work at the counter taking orders and delivering food are also very friendly and helpful with navigating the menu. Service alone would be 5 stars. Food- The first time I visited Simply Falafel I was blown away by the food. But several visits later, there are some things that are consistently "off". Their fries, though hand cut and fried fresh, are still raw, oily, and limp 90% of the time. I have sent them back several times, despite ordering them extra done 2/3 of the time. They have great potential; they just need to be cooked longer and at a higher heat. The gyro meat can also be a bit on the oily side. The baklava is homemade and is wonderfully flaky and spiced, but it tastes like they use margarine instead of butter. It has an off, fake butter flavor and coats my mouth like shortening. And finally, they have a microwave clearly visible in the kitchen window and I can hear it ding the entire time I am eating; it makes me nervous that sometimes my food isn't being cooked fresh. But apart from the few negatives, there are some very good positives about the food. For one, their falafels are amazing. They are large, perfectly fried and crisp on the outside but a bit creamy on the inside. The gyro meat, though greasy, is very flavorful and is large pieces instead of the typical thin, dry meat. Their tabbouleh is fresh and delicious, packed full of fresh ingredients and lots of lemon juice. I love it. Their daily soups are very good as well and can be subbed for the fries with any sandwich. The good at Simply Falafel definitely outweighs the few bad things. Just order smartly and the experience will be great. Three stars means "A-OK" and they definitely are A-OK. I will continue going there because I like the food but also because I love supporting a local, family owned business. Give them a try!

Such a yummy place! The gyro meat was some of the best I have had. The spices in it were just so delicious. Their hummus was also great! The owner and staff were very friendly and helpful. We will be back!!

We took a day trip to Edmond a few weeks ago and looked for a place to meet up with friends. Looked up Simply Falafel as a good place to go. Man, it was a great choice!!! We spent 12 years in Florida around good Greek/Mediterranean food and Simply Falafel exceeded our expectations. Great food, we had three different main dishes, all were just great. The service was excellent, they had numerous customers at the time, but were very attentive to all in the restaurant. We could not have received better service, and were absolutely thrilled with everything. They are reasonably priced, good service and very friendly. I would not hesitate a moment to recommend them for lunch or dinner. Thanks so much for the service and BTW the baklava was really good too!

Great food by a guy who knows what he is doing and takes real pride in his food. I'll be coming back for sure! The gyro sandwich was delicious and you should definitely try it. I'd write more, but am presses for time. Just go!

I have only been here once and I don't think I'll ever return again. Few selected items that are halal. Their food was alright. Service was good.

The hummus here is absolutely fantastic, and the falafels are as good as you'd expect. I usually get the falafel sandwich with the red lentil soup. It's a great vegan option as long as you trade the tsatsiki sauce on the sandwich for more hummus. The owner is very nice and typically treats kids to a free drink and an all-natural fruit popsicle. I don't recommend the tabouli salad though, as it seems to be about 75% parsley.

  • Dana H.

The french fries here are just like momma makes... they use fresh cut potatoes, bring them to the table hot, and they are delish! I ordered the grilled veggie platter with rice, but luckily I got to share many fries from my friends' plates. I loved the Greek salad, felafel was ok, and the grilled veggies were great. The service was fast & friendly, the restaurant was clean. We will definitely be coming back, folks!

My daughter and I went here after her soccer game at UCO. We try to eat clean and this place totally delivered. I ordered the three salad plate with Greek, Persian, and Tabouli. The veggies were so fresh and crisp and the tabouli was out of this world fresh. The owner told me they make everything fresh without preservatives and nothing in the restaurant is more than 2 days old. The hummus was dyn-O-mite! So simple but so great. I will definitely return here for lunch or dinner with my college student!

Wow. Yummy. Had my infant and husband with me. I had a gyro plate and it was huge! the tomato soup was very good. My husband had the schwarma plate and a Turkish coffee. The owner (im assuming) was very nice. He gave me some juice for my baby and some hummus for her as well...which she hated lol. Little tastes of pistachio baklava for dessert. We'd definitely go back!

  • Monica V.

The food here is delicious and the service is very friendly. Every time we've eaten here the servers always stopped a few times to make sure we had everything we needed. They have the best hummus and there's a lot of time and care that goes into making it (we asked). The owner Magid is very friendly and you can tell he takes pride in his business. We took our 11 month old today, and without us needing to ask he offered her little wedges of soft pita and a bit of hummus for free. After we ate he gave us a whole fruit Popsicle for her to try. Her first Popsicle! It was very sweet and unexpected. If you love gyros (Mediterranean food) you should try this place. If you've never had it before, Simply Falafel would be a great place to start.

This place is the bomb dot com. If you are in the area you should really try it. Great food for sure. Also, Love the family owned and operated feel. Staff is super friendly. Love that the owner walks around working the tables.

I went here with a few friends of mine while visiting Oklahoma again. I guess this is a nice change from some of the other options for food near the UCO campus. The hostess/cashier extraordinaire was very polite and personable and took the time to explain the items they offer. They have a picture of almost every item on the menu blown up to larger than actual size posted on a wall within the dining area. That really helps since it was my first time and I was like, "What the fudge is all this stuff?" Now when the order came out, I was almost overwhelmed but how much food came out. Plate after plate after plate after plate came out of the kitchen. I believe that the combos are basically three items, but three very large items they are. Each one comes out on it's own dinner plate. Not a tea cup plate a large huge gargantuan dinner plate. This is probably typical of this genre of food. There are many options for vegetarians so don't turn up your nose at the sight of all the meat options. Back to the story at hand. Honestly, many of the sides are common between the combos so you may be better off getting single items and then sharing a huge hummus or baba ghanouj. Everything is fresh though, which is great. Now I only give this 3 stars because the hummus was pretty standard and practically flavorless. There wasn't anything original about it. And again I think the sheer magnitude of the portions did actually overwhelm me a bit. My hummus plate was practically 2 cups of hummus. Then I had the baba ghanouj which was like another 2 cups and then pita bread and then a huge basket of falafel. The baba ghanouj actually tasted like the hummus but more tuna fishy-ish. I kept saying to myself, "Why did I get two of the same thing?" The owner came to our table to chat and saw that I was eating much and asked if there was something wrong. I said "It's a lot." He said "We eat big, my friend". He was also very kind and personable and you don't see that much anymore where the owner actually comes out and talks to the guests. The falafel and the dipping sauce was pretty good and fragrant, but I couldn't get full off just falafel and a small helping of hummus. I didn't even bother with the baba ghanouj. What maybe would have maid the items I had a little better would have been a little salt or garlic or any sort of spice to enhance the flavor. I will say you certainly get a lot for your money. I can at least say I've tried something new.

The food is excellent, the business owner is friendly and takes pride in his restaurant. I have never had a negative experience here! The pricing is more than fair for the amount and quality of food received. I'm a simply falafel fan!

Grabbed this for date night last night. Picked up the falafel dinner, the gyros dinner, and the humus. Unfortunately, they forgot the cup of tomato soup I ordered. However, the humus and the gyros were awesome. I'm also not a tabbouleh fan, but theirs is great. Falafel was average, but tasty enough. I would definitely eat here again.

This place moves higher up my list of "go-to" restaurants every time I eat there. Although I don't have much of a background eating/ordering Mediterranean food, I am really loving these new tastes. The people working there have been super friendly and very patient in describing new foods (at least new to me) on the menu. Though not too exotic, my favorite lunch, (at the moment), is a gyro (yee-row) sandwich and a cup of tomato basil soup. The gyro is extremely satisfying as to taste, quality and quantity, and I think absolutely qualifies as a comfort food. It's really tough to beat, especially when you get it, and the soup, for under $8.00. They regularly offer three soup choices ... red pepper, lentil and tomato basil. I've had them all, but think their tomato basil soup is as good as it gets. It's top notch! The Chicken Shawarma also get a nod, being my second choice of things Simply Falafel. I often order takeout and have almost always been offered a free drink or samples of other foods while I wait. Based on my sampling of these new foods, I'll be trying the rest of the menu soon.

Love that the owner takes pride in the experience. Food is really good and the falafel isn't greasy or heavy. We were in town for a concert but live in Colorado. My mom, who lives in Tulsa, drove to meet us for dinner. I used Yelp to find a restaurant with good reviews that we would all enjoy. I'll admit that based on the look of this place from the outside, I definitely thought we had chosen a chain restaurant and would be getting pre-packaged Greek/Mediterranean food. We were very pleasantly surprised. The food was tasty with larger than expected portion sizes. The owner was there and is very friendly, as is the rest of the staff. My mom hadn't had Greek food before and was weary about my choice. But, with the staff being so friendly, she ended up trying a bunch of food that she normally wouldn't have. PS, she loved it all. I love that Yelp can help you find hidden gems like this when you are traveling or aren't sure where to eat. If I am ever back in Edmond, I will definitely be back to Simply Falafel.

We joined friends last night and they provided the take out dinner. It was fantastic. I never think of Greek food when going out, but am so happy our friends thought of Simply Falafel. We had several dishes including Falafel patties, Houmos, Tabouli salad, Dolma, and the Chicken Gyros platter. Sometimes takeout doesn't work so well for freshness, but not the case here. It was fun sharing the various new foods and when combined with a couple of great wines and good friends it was perfect. I'm a new fan.

Service was great. Staff was super friendly! I thought the price a bit high. I got a chicken schwarma sandwich with fries and a tea for $12... Other than that, I have no complaints. Atmosphere was decent.

Our go-to for Mediterranean cuisine, the food is outstanding. This place is family owned and it shows...the owner is often there, waiting on tables himself and getting to know his clientele. He gives my girls free dessert every visit! Try the baba ganoush and the dolma...the gyros are excellent, as is the falafel! The tabouleh is the best I've had!

Based on the number of the high reviews, I may give it another shot sometime. Pros: The owner and employees were really nice. Nice and clean place. Cons: I ordered the chicken schawarma "sandwich". I think I should have gotten the platter. The sandwich/wrap was pretty basic and had more tzatziki than chicken (which I couldn't even taste the chicken because it had so much tzatziki in it). Actually, I think it had more sauce than any other ingredient. I'm hoping that this was an off day, maybe Sundays are slow. The fries that came with the sandwich were soggy...really soggy, enough that I would spend time writing that they were. The hummus was alright. Pretty standard I would say. I want to like this place, and maybe I'll chalk it up to an off day. I'm guessing the platters are probably better because you'll be able to taste the flavors of the meat and other menu items without being mixed up in a wrap...or at least I'm hoping.

At first glance, there was nothing about this place that especially grabbed my attention. I ended up here with my parents since my dad was craving falafel and I was in need of eating something that didn't come from a drive-thru. My step-mom had never tried falafel before, so it was a bit of a gamble coming here. If my star rating is any indication, we were very pleased with the outcome! First of all, when you step inside the place it looks much more welcoming. The handwritten menu on the wall is cute and easy to read. We were greeted warmly by the owner and a friendly staff member. The owner even helped my parents pick out what to get (my mind was set on the falafel platter). For starters, we ordered the dolma (stuffed grape leaves), which were really warm and fresh. I'd never had them warm before, but I loved how they were clearly straight from the kitchen. I ordered a tabouli salad with my meal, which also tasted amazingly fresh. The owner shared with us that he does not use any cilantro or mint, but uses a great deal of parsley and a little cracked wheat. I made sure to save some for my meal. The falafel were excellent, which was good since my expectations were set pretty high for Simply Falafel. My dad loved his gyros so much, he got a second helping (compliments of the owner, very nice). The basmati rice was warm, and the pita bread was some of the best I've had. The yogurt sauce was chunky, not as pungent as some I've had. The veggies on the side were fresh and delicious. We were regularly checked on by the charismatic owner, who was eager to be as accommodating as possible. He came out with samples of their namoura, free of charge. It was piping hot and super sweet. Made from syrup, sesame, and NOT honey! We were then brought complimentary cups of Turkish coffee to finish off the meal. What service! I really see this place as one of my future haunts whenever I'm in Edmond. Can't wait to try the hummus and baba ghanouj next time!

I really enjoy going here, the employees and owner are always awesome! The hummus it's so creamy and flavorful. I also suggest the chicken schwarma (sp).so good. Moving from Arizona it's hard to find this type of cuisine that measures up. AMAZING! I moved to mustang and still would drive for this place! Don't forget the baklava YUM!

The restaurant name is a lie. It has much more than simply falafels to offer a meat-eater such as myself. Also, it's simply delicious. See what I did there? Okay, moving on. The chicken, the kabobs, the tzatziki sauce, the spicy sauce, the pita, and even the non-Mediterranean things like the chicken strips are all delicious, and quite satisfying. There are some Spinach pastry things that are enjoyable as well, but less so when it's not fresh and warm. The beef kabobs are kind of dry, but not terrible; the one menu item that has been somewhat hit or miss for me. The gyro meat is particularly tasty, and chopped up into small pieces; succulent and flavorful and... well, pretty much like any other gyro meat I suppose. Seriously, has anybody ever had bad tasting gyro meat? Also, I'm not a fan of hummus. No, that's a lie, but I do tend to avoid it because I'm always thinking, "meh, it's just hummus." But not here, sir (or madam). Here, I go for the hummus first. No, that's a lie as well. I go for it only after I get my fill of gyro meat. Even the plain ole boring side dishes like rice is done well. But if you can't trust a restaurant to get rice right, that may be a warning sign that you can't trust them with the trickier things on the menu. Oh right. The namesake; falafels. They're good. Next thing I try will be one of the six or seven sandwiches they have on the menu. How am I the first person reviewing this place?

Excellent food and service! Very helpful in explaining the menu, making modifications to my order, and checked in on me multiple times while eating on the back patio. I will be back for SURE! The address does not show up correct on google maps/Apple maps...it is next to Target.

This year, my taste buds changed. I know that they say that every seven years your tastes in food change, but none as been as drastic as 2013. I used to loathe tomatoes on everything, and now caprese salads are everything. Shrimp then? Don't let it come near me. Shrimp now? I want to go to there. And now, I love Mediterranean food. I suppose I always liked Greek food, my parents and I used to go to this little Greek place in MWC for dinner and get Gyros and fries, (don't even get me STARTED on Napoleons Greek Sandwich shop because. yes.) But I never really branched out. I am definitely a fan of lamb, but I have never loved falafel or hummus or greek salads. Now Everything Has Changed. I frequent Simply Falafel at least once every 2 weeks. It's literally 5 minutes away from my desk. Lately I had been getting the 1/2 and 1/2 Gyro meat and Falafel platter, with a greek salad and basmati rice. Last time I went I got the greek salad topped with gyro meat and a side of the yogurt sauce, and o o o m m m g g g. I wanted to go back the next day and get it, and the day after that, and the day after that... I know this is strong statement, but I'm starting to feel the way I felt about the Thai Chicken Salad from Tropical Cafe (May it rest). It's that good. All the ingredients and fresh, the meat is cooked to perfection, and there's so much food. It's worth the price, in my humble opinion. But don't take my word for it. Go get some yourself. And then maybe you'll experience the most charming part of this unassuming restaurant, how the owner greets you like an old friend. In the times I've been there, he's been very attentive, offering me tastes of the desserts, free fountain drinks (and if you're a UCO Student, you get a free drink anyway!) and just all around welcoming me into his establishment. Makes me want to come back and eat that delicious Mediterranean food again and again.

Ok first let me start off by saying YES YES YES!!! ok now the food is A A A A A MAZING WE HAD THE Chicken shawarma with soup and wife had fries. It was the closest thing you are getting to the Middle East with out the flight. Probably thinking man this guy is white lol well I have spent over 4 years traveling that region and lived in Saudi Arabia and I know my shawarma and this one is THE BEST IN OKLAHOMA TO DATE. The atmosphere is fun the group/family is very entertaining and they are very friendly and accommodating. This place needs to change it's name because it's not just falafel It's MORE and I encourage you to try!!! Have fun!!! Baklava is pretty great to they add a different but than normal you won't be disappointed!!!

This is am awesome legit Mediterranean spot ... Thanks TangoTab! I brought a co-worker here and she had never had Arab cuisine and she is now smitten! LOVED the recommendations from the crew, waitstaff was super friendly and prompt with the refills. Place gets busy at lunch with UCO International students - a lot of the Arab and they KNOW good food vs. junk, and they dig it. Yum Yum! Great place for a great, filling and fresh healthy lunch in Edmond!

Absolutely fantastic food!! We were promptly greeted by the owner who gave us the run down of his restaurant, how it worked and how his food is prepared. Everything is made fresh with no preservatives. Definitely made our top 5 list!!

I have found the BEST middle eastern restaurant ever! Don't trust Siri's directions though, it is south of 2nd street, not north. Anyway my hubby and I are learning to cook this food because it is so healthy. But our falafel (from a mix) was terrible. The falafel here is heavenly! Light and fluffy with delicate flavors! We had one of the platters with lamb, falafel, basmati rice, etc. the lamb was succulent and juicy and everything on the platter was great. Then the owner treated us to baklava which I never would have ordered because it didn't taste very good to me. But this stuff knocked my socks off! Wayne says he wants a whole tray of it for his birthday cake!

This gem of a restaurant is hidden from Google Maps as maps will take you over by the college, so you must pay attention to directions. It is south of Edmond Rd/2nd street on Blackwelder, which runs beside the Super Target. The food and service are off the charts. You will not regret going there. I had the Gyro platter and Greek Salad, everything tastes amazing and was served fresh. The owner came out several times and brought us samples of other items to test and definitely offered above customer service.

Service was great. Magid (the owner) is very friendly and you can tell he really takes pride in his business. The falafel was great and everything seems to be made fresh in house.

Not horrible. Not good. I take that back. Some things were horrible. The hummus was horrible. It was drenched in some kind of reddish oil that tasted rancid. I've had various oils in hummus before that worked well. This was reddish and nasty. Never tasted anything like it. And I've had a lot of hummus in many restaurants around the world. Keep in mind, this is a Greek restaurant. The best Med. Food tends to be from Lebanese restaurants. Other? Chicken Kebabs were dry. The rice was tasteless. No salt. No spices. No flavor. Falafels were basically soft doughy blobs. The best falafels are crispy on the outside. These were like doughnuts. Was I there on a bad night? Maybe. But it wasn't busy and it was a Friday night. If you can't get it right in that situation, you can't get it right. My guess is that anyone who loves this place hasn't had great Falafel in their life.

What a gem. Came in here while in OKC on an extended stay. The girl behind the counter was incredibly sweet and helpful. She very clearly loved the restaurant and enjoyed working there. The food was beyond good, some of the best falafel I've had. The gyro meat was excellent as well...there wasn't anything that wasn't excellent. Hummus was excellent as well. The owner come over to check on us and when he learned we were from out of town he brought over two baklava gratis. Very very nice man.

Took my 7 years old and and 9 years old sons to Simply Falafel for dinner. We tried hummus, domas, shrimp platter, lamp platter, tabouli, Persian salad, and a couple desserts (took two boxes of leftovers home with us). The food was delicious. The owner and staff were very friendly. We definitely will be taking the rest of the family to visit the restaurant sometime soon.

Found this hidden gem thanks to my brother. They were so accommodating for 4 adults and two kids under 4yo. Helpful with the selection process and an EXTREMELY welcoming owner. Wonderful recipes and service. We will return every trip up here.

Just go and try it! Writing a concise review is not going to be as easy as getting wordy and belaboring my affection. The food, originality and the service. The food is: exceptionally fresh and is keenly and meticulously prepared. Each ingredient is special, like the garlic sauce (a true one of a kind.) The staples were phenomenal, I found myself saying "so this is what it's supposed to taste like" when biting into a falafel or taking a dip of hummus. The service is for real, the owner is a conversationalist and takes immense pride in providing a great service to his customers. We even got to hang out with him and talked about Syria with him. He pretty much ordered for us, gathered many different things to try but insisted half of them be on the house. I asked how Turkish coffee is made, in reply he asked if I'd like to watch and learn, so I watched, it was great and made the something special for me! I gained a new appreciation for the cuisine, I never knew hummus could taste so good. Just go and try it!

This place is out of this world fantastic, at at the very least out of this Oklahoma fantastic. But seriously-my goal is to eat my way through the whole menu. I've never encountered anything that wasn't perfectly cooked, tasted fresh and flavorful, perfect portions and wonderful ingredients. I crave the hummus-I wasn't a hummus eater until eating here. The owner is very attentive to his dishes that go out and will frequent the dining area and check in with his customers. This is also my go to for catering for large groups. They do a great job with large scale jobs, are affordable and punctual. Be sure to get the correct location-it's by Target-not where the pin on Yelp says.

The food is delicious, the closest I have found in the Oklahoma city metro area to the authentic taste from the middle East. But what is most important is the customer service. The owner takes great care of every person who walks through the door. He immediately walks to the door and greets you, then grabs free juice boxes for both of my children. This is the second time I have been to this place and will always come back.

The owner is such a class act. Super nice guy. I chatted with him on our first visit, and we've been in a handful of times since, always with the kids in tow. He always gives them at least a free juice, sometimes ice cream or an icy. He seems to remember us too even if we haven't been in for several months. He even invited me back to see the kitchen and the shawarma rotisseries. The gyros are less expensive, and big, but what you really need to try is the lamb shawarma wrap. Unless you hate lamb, it's amazing. Very nice flavor, not so busy with other things that you can't appreciate the lamb, but it does have some good sauce, a pickle, and tomatoes. The fries are fresh cut, and cooked to order. They were cooked just right. Golden brown, cooked at high temp so they weren't mushy. I'm definitely a fan.

I ordered a gyro sandwhich, it had a nice portion of meat, good sauce, and fresh bread. My side of tomato basil seemed a little acidic, needs more cream. The owner is friendly and it is a clean environment. Would definitely come back.

I just simply need the hummus and I can die a happy girl. That's all I feel like I need to review! The hummus. it's heavenly I can dip anything in it and it turns into instant gold. The actual restaurant is a nice size and very homey. The staff was pleasantly helpful and sweet when it came to answering any of the questions I had about the food. I use to go all the way across town to zorbas to get gyros and kebabs and now that I've found this little gem less than 5 mins away from my house I'll never have to travel across town for decent Mediterranean food ever again. This place is awesome.

Thanks to Yelp I came here with some cousins who had never had Greek food before. Let me just tell you...so good! The service was absolutely excellent and of all the dishes, the chicken shawarma is a must to order!! My goodness...so tender and marinated just right. Yum! The server and owner were so hospitable and offered us samples of many items they had which was great for my cousins who are newbies to the Greek world. I'm definitely planning on returning here before I leave and again my next trip to Edmond. I've had better hummus which was kind of a bummer...this one seemed to taste like peanuts were heavily in the mix. Considering the name of the place, I'm assuming they have a mean falafel...let me know, didn't try it. As far as sweets go, the nomoura and baklava are good choices if that's your thing. Both have a syrup coating on the bottom. Not sure if they have hot tea, but hmm that would have been great to accompany. I love when I can write a 5-star review. They definitely deserve it. The prices are pretty reasonable and the portions are large. Price range $9-15. Try this place! Oh, and it's near Target...like another reviewer said, don't follow google maps, it'll take you on the other side. The owner, Magid clearly has pride in his restaurant and will be blessed with business because of it. I don't see how anyone could give this place a negative review. They're that awesome!

So this place was amazing! Had the falafel and tomato soup! It was a perfect combination for this snowy day. The drinks were help yourself and I could tell the owner was very proud of his culture and loved his life. I would recommend exploring this option if your ever pass through Edmond.

Not impressed. Most of the food was microwaved. Did not get order correct and didn't make order right. Cabbage rolls had been microwaved and were tough. Better Greek restaurants in okc. There were people yelling in the back of the restaurant during our meal too.

This place is terrific! I have eaten there several times now and everything has been high quality and excellent. It's easy to see they take extra care in the preparation of their food. The desserts are wonderful too! But not only the food; they are also super friendly and want to make sure you have a good experience in their restaurant. Definitely my favorite Mediterranean!

Came here for the first time..We ordered the angus burger and the best of both platter, which came with gyro and falafel. The falafel were great, perfectly cooked. The gyro was good as well, however portion was small for $11. It comes with a salad and choice of rice (went with lentils rice). The burger was decent, juicy patty but lacked flavor otherwise, it came with fries or your choice of soup. The lentil soup was good as well. Not a bad place for a light dinner or a good lunch! Will be back to try other items on the menu.

How have I not been to this place before?!? There are no words to describe my new found Love called Simply Falafel. Even my husband has questioned me no less than 10 times in the 24 hours since we've been there, "did you write that review?! did you write that review?!". I love locally owned restaurants and this place is in a class all it's own. I found it to be an order-at-the-counter-take-a-number-to-your-table kind of establishment...that is, unless you walk in like me and my husband and stare aimlessly at the menu on the wall. The owner approaches us, introduces himself as Magid and asks, "what do you like?". I tell him it is our first time and he immediately tells us to take a seat, that he will take care of us. Take care of us HE DID! He proceeds to bring us a rainbow of dishes; 2 different salads, 2 different entrees, (gyro and also chicken schwarma (sp)), and then the baklava. Each time, Magid is the one who delivers our dish to the table and proceeds to explain each dish, the ingredients, how it is prepared, etc. At one point, I looked at my husband and said, "he knows we're not famous, right?". It was that kind of spectacular treatment! And...they were super busy! He worked each table with such ease, greeting patrons by name and making sure they had exactly what they wanted. Never have I been to a restaurant, for a random Monday lunch to boot, and been treated so well. The food was delicious & the servings were more than enough. Had the food been sub-par (it WASN'T!) I would go back in a heartbeat just because they were so nice. It is hard to choose a highlight, but I would say this was close to the top: as we were leaving, Magid thanked us and as I thanked him and said, "so nice to meet you", he replied with, "nice to meet you, AMY!". He used my first name! We had been there close to an hour, he had seen probably 50+ patrons, met me once when we entered and remembered my name. What a place!

What a marvelous restaurant - I loved everything I had and that never happens! Tried the falafel sandwich paired with a cup of red lentil soup. The savory, generous sandwich packed with delicious falafel topped with creamy yogurt and crisp fresh greens (the toasted sesame seeds on the falafel really added that "something special"). Can you tell I liked it?! The accompanying cup of red lentil soup was rich and satisfying. I could have eaten a whole bowl! A warm and friendly welcome to each customer makes the dining experience so much nicer. A MUST to come and eat your way through the entire menu.

The owner is the nicest man I've ever met! It was my first visit and he brought me and my date back into the kitchen to show us what everything is and how it was made! He also gave us both free drinks! The food was absolutely amazing! I will definitely be going again!
