Nice little place with great pho.

Pretty decent pho place. I guess I'm not a pho expert, but I thought it was pretty good. It came out super quickly, and the service was overall good. I also got a Thai tea with tapioca and it was good (the tapioca was a little weird though - different than other places I've had). If you don't feel like driving down to classen, this place will definitely do.

This place truly is Phobulous! I noticed several reviews calling the pho bland but it was in fact far from bland and absolutely delicious! I always dress my pho with chinese basil, hoisin and sriacha sauces, lime, and an abundance of bean sprouts. I'm not sure if the people commenting perhaps didn't dress their pho but even prior I found it to be very tasty. The thai tea was delightful! Many a time I've had thai tea in restaurants that was just too sweet - all sugar and little else in the flavor department - this one was just right! The whipped cream was an added bonus. The staff are incredibly friendly and on their feet. I hardly had to wait for anything and they also have free WiFi for guests! I came here alone on my lunch and was in and out in less than an hour. Only con is that the place could use more lighting, but the atmosphere overall is very nice and doesn't require any change.

Perfect takeout for date night at home! Quick service, nice location and hot food. Summer rolls with peanut sauce are addictive, beware! Lettuce wraps are tasty along with their pho's (of course). Clever name so I have much respect.

Yum, yum. Great pho here! Love their broth. The ingredients are always good quality and fresh. Have yet to find a combination I don't like! Their appetizers are also amazing. The spring and summer rolls are my favorite-maybe it's the dipping sauce. They also make good bubble teas and Thai iced tea. Dining-in the service has been friendly, quick and efficient. Take out is just as delicious and fast!

Website says they're open until 9:15. Well, I was starving after getting off of work and pulled up at 9 and everything was dark and closed. So disappointed.

The food is actually 3 stars. Obviously they have to cater to the population in the area so there isn't rare beef, tendon, tripe and all the goodness that makes pho amazing. Nonetheless, the place is clean and the broth is solid. The extra star is for being in a location that is not Asian dominant!

    (4)
  • Randy B.

I really like the Pho Here. I ordered the P3 brisket and round steak soup. I thought the soup was good before I added the jalapeños fresh basil, bean sprouts and fresh lime juice. But I love all the extra goodies. I recommend this place.

  • Chris P.

I go here just about every Sunday afternoon for lunch and the service had always been professional and fast. Their summer shrimp rolls are fresh n crispy, and it seems recently that they added more flavor to there phó, and it was really good before but now it's even more delicious! Nom nom nom!!

Pho Bulous is the only Vietnamese and Pho place located in this Edmond area. So really when you're desperate you've got no choice! Pho Bulous is very clean and has very kind and professional employees. The restaurant is more stylish than typical pho places and is very well maintained! A huge plus for me! However the food at Pho Bulous is decent, but it doesn't compare to the Vietnamese places in the Asian District. To sum up the food, I think it is rather bland. Sauces seem to be watered down and lack of flavor. The pho is decent. It will definitely satisfy a pho craving. But on the other hand, their vermicelli dishes are rather disappointing because there is absolutely no flavor! The fish sauce that you mix the noodles and veggies with is so watered down leaving the noodle salad tasteless! It's so disappointing! I love vermicelli dishes and everything about Pho Bulous's vermicelli dish is fantastic (their grilled meats on top are seasoned great) but the sauce is crucial to the dish and Pho Bulous shouldn't be stingy with it by watering it down to make it go a longer way. Fish sauce is very cheap so this would be an easy and very reasonable thing for them to change and improve the dish. All in all, I'm thankful we have a Vietnamese place in the Edmond area. They have a handful of good dishes. But at the same time a few dishes lack some flavor and I think it's a result of watering down some crucial sauces. Try it out if you're in the area and craving Vietnamese just don't expect what you get in Asian District! :)

Not the best but definitely good enough. A bit pricey for pho. A large bowl will run you about 10 bucks. This is the only pho place in Edmond so unless you drive 10-15 mins further south, this is as good as it gets

  • Bryan S.

Love this place! The Pho is great and the Orange chicken is really good. Not all breaded up like some of the places. Def one of my favs in Edmond.

Do yourself a favor and make the extra 10-15 min drive down to Classen in the city if you want good phõ. Food came out super quick (Sat afternoon, only like 5 other tables when we came in), but our waitress wasn't the friendliest, or most helpful for that matter. I guess I'm just use to Pho Thai Nguyen where the waitress checks up on you throughout the meal, gives you complimentary hot jasmine tea, bags up your leftover pho for you. It's also like $2 more expensive for a phõ bowl of the same size, the broth isn't naturally as flavorful (have to dress it up quite a bit), they don't put any quail eggs in it, and it's all white meat chicken pieces (in the phõ ga). I feel almost like it's pho that's been tailored to the yuppy white people of Edmond. Anyway, like I said, take the extra trip south if you can. P.S. the same shitty old top 40/soft rock soundtrack circa 2000 was playing as the first time we came in a few months ago. Celine Dion and Creed? No thanks. No one should ever be subjected to that. Lol.

My friends and I love to come here for lunch. once or twice a month for a change. We really like soups and salads as well as noodles. can be explained by the waiter how you would like to have your meal was cooking. very clean, homey atmosphere. fast service. good time. recommend

I've eaten at Pho Bulous some several times now, and declare under oath that it's OK Pho. Not great, but not horrible either. A few years ago, being the foodie I am, I thought I'd make pho at home. After researching a number of recipes, I discovered good pho can take 8 hours of simmering to get all the great flavors out of the bone marrow. I didn't have that kind of time, and I now suspect that the cooks at Pho Bulous spend no such time making theirs either. Their pho lacks the depth of flavor I've experienced elsewhere. It has also become a game of mine to see if I can get any of the servers to smile. So far I haven't succeeded. I'll be back, but only because I don't have time to drive to the Asian district. UPDATE: Evidently the servers read Yelp reviews. The last two times I've been to Pho Bulous, (since writing my review), the servers have been friendly and all smiles. 2nd UPDATE: I don't know how to explain it, but their pho has gotten better. Maybe, they've hired a new cook, or two. Anyway, the servers are still smiling and I'm adding a star.

  • Angela W.

This is one of my favorite places for lunch. The bowls are massive, the bubble tea is great, and I love the spring rolls. The service is always good and the prices are fair.

    (5)
  • Mayra R.

It's a really nice place to go and eat real quick for lunch but the pho is kind of bland. It you add sriracha sauce, Peppers, Mint etc it tastes better. The employees are nice and get you in and out pretty quick if needed. The eggrolls I can say are really good.

    (3)
  • Lisa H.

I really enjoyed my meal. No complaints about the flavor. However, the portion size was smaller than I've experienced at other restaurants for the same price. I ordered to-go and everything was packaged well which is great when transporting hot broth. I deducted one star for the smaller portion but I'll be back again.

    (4)
  • Joanie W.

Vegetarians be warned: the Vegetarian Pho is NOT vegetarian. After inquiring, I was informed that it is made with beef broth - bone marrow, beef bits, rump, and all. Not sure how that can be considered "vegetarian". I had the tofu vermicelli platter instead. It was basically just rice noodles with fried tofu and bean sprouts - no vegetables, no garnishes, and was just very disappointing. Definitely not worth 7.50. It did have a pleasant, comfortable interior. The staff was not very friendly. I will not be visiting again.

    (1)

Atmosphere was relaxing and quiet. A nice casual and comfortable place. My first time and it won't be my last. We went on a Sunday evening and had the combo vermicelli and the beef stir-fry, as well as fried dumplings as an appetizer. The staff was very friendly and gracious. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience and I left full and satisfied with a bill of only $25 for two w an appetizer.

Pretty good Pho...I prefer going to other places in the city, but when it's cold this definitely hits the spot!

    (3)
  • Katherine B.

I had a noodle bowl with tofu and my mom had chicken pho. They were both tasty, but nothing that blew us away. The service was quick and solid, and I'd definitely eat here again if I was in the area craving some pho.

    (3)
  • Laura H.

We really enjoy the food here! Portions are huge, service is good and prices are moderate.

    (4)
  • Nova S.

I am not that pleased. The food is edible, but not that authentic. The spring rolls had 2 butterflied shrimp each, a few strands of bean sprouts, and way too much shredded iceberg lettuce. Gross! Then the chicken lettuce wrap filling was mostly water chestnuts with a little bit of chicken. My total was around $11.00 for a whole bunch of filler. My advice would be to hit up Pei Wei. They are the sister company to P.F. Changs.

    (2)
  • Alex W.

Great food, great atmosphere, clean, and for being the only Vietnamese place in Edmond, it's a good spot for lunch.

I live in Orange County, CA where Pho' is on every corner. This one is really great, and I am so happy it's here when I come to town to see family. I love Pho Tai...very spicy. I hope this little place prospers. More people should eat pho. Delicious!

Food: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Cleanliness: 4/5 Decor & Setup: 4/5 Overall great place. Its small, well lit, with nice modern decor. Most Asian restaurants do not have nice decor. Food was above average and the Pho is definitely worth getting. Other dishes are excellent, and I find this place cheap! Thanks Pho Bulous.

    (4)
  • Kara K.

I had beef vermicelli and it was good, not amazing but decent. I'm still partial to pho' nomenal... : D

  • Joshua D.

The food here was good and I have no complaints about that. Nothing special but cooked well. I had the grilled chicken with rice with spring roll. My brother had the lo mein combo and both were good, but the service was absolutely terrible. The place was not very busy about half the tables taken. Our order was taken 10 min after arriving and came out fairly quick. Then we were never spoken to again by the wait staff (which was limited). We both planned to order something else but decided since no one had time for us we would just leave. Maybe we caught them on a bad day....but I would rather spend my money at LA Pho.

    (2)
  • Vivian H.

Very clean, upscale restaurant, compared to other pho places around the city. I enjoyed their pho #1. The sprouts they gave us seemed to be a little stale. I've also tried the vermicelli here and found that bland, but I liked their appetizers and pho. They also have lots of other dishes, and even a few vegetarian options. Great place for pho first-timers, but I still like Pho Lien Hoa better.

  • Koua T.

The location of the place and decor is great but the same cannot be said about the food. I ordered the shrimp summer roll and pho special combo. The summer rolls were larger and stuffed with excess lettuce and noodles, great in size but not in taste. The meat portions in the pho was large which I usually don't mind but in excess is just a waste of food. The broth was just average nothing to grab you or keep your attention after you devoured the meat. The one good thing about this place is the service is awesome, I've been to many pho resturantes and by far the service at this place is the best. Can't have the best of both worlds but I guess I'll go back because a friendly face and nice smile maybe all I need that day.

    (3)
  • Kevin W.

Clean and more intimate that you typically expect from a pho place. I brought our 2 year-old and almost didn't go in because it was on the quiet side. But the staff was nice and had good service. The prices were fair and there were some typical chinese dishes for those that don't like pho. The pho was 4/5 with a good amount of basic, sprouts and jalepenos, plum and siracha. The negatives were that they didn't have the spicy pepper sauce that usually comes along with the siracha and also that the chicken terriyaki was waaayyy too salty. I'd come here again but I wouldn't order the chinese food.

Notes for Pho Bulous from a fabulous pho tour of the Oklahoma City area (totally unplanned, random, unscientific): Broth: Bland to average Ingredients: Fair to good. Beef: Fair Noodles: Good Rest of Menu: Plenty of other Vietnamese choices like com tam and vermicelli. Unremarkable appetizers. Restaurant: Very clean, upscale (relative to most pho places) This is a suburbanized pho place that plays it safe and is perfect for taking friends and family that are afraid of eating in a place that's dirty, weird, or less English-speaking. It's also a good place to go if you live in Edmond and don't feel like driving too far. The pho ain't bad, but it ain't great either. The staff are friendly, helpful, and very attentive.

I've eaten at Pho Bulous a few times now and have not been disappointed. Their fried spring rolls are very good and remind me of the one's I used to get when I was a kid (my mother's Japanese friend made awesome spring rolls). The pho is good - You would have to venture to the Asian Disctrict for better. I love the decor as it is inviting, warm, and well cared for (clean). If you are a Pho novice, this would be a good place to "dip your feet" so to speak. Try the hot tea - It's wonderful. Give PhoBulous a try and you will be pleasantly surprised.

We eat Pho here from time to time it's good. My wife likes the veggie pho at this place because they add more veggies than most OKC pho shops. We have also had their spring rolls both types good also. Most pho places in this part of the city are similar but the veggies, noodles, and good environment put this one slightly ahead of other north OKC/Edmond pho shops.

I find that eating Pho is a rather Utilitarian experience in Oklahoma. It usually involves traveling to a cinder block building with white tile floors. Plain, Asian decor. Maybe a poster of some foreign landscape. Order by number and enjoy a unique meal. Pho Bulous is different. It is the type of Pho house you could take a date to. The decor is inspired and modern. The service is attentive and the Pho: excellent. The Pho broth is well-balanced. It's both meaty and spicy without being too fatty or having too much cinnamon/anise. Pho Bulous uses excellent quality ingredients and the chef presents his product with a fine dining-like presentation. Pho Bulous has taken Pho to new heights in Oklahoma. I'll be back.

decent pho, the portions are alright, pretty much everything is pretty average

Started off the meal as I normally do at a place that serves Pho, with some Cafe Su Da and an order of shrimp summer rolls w/ peanut sauce. The coffee was pre-prepared but it was still good. Still, I like the Vietnamese coffee maker. The rolls were excellent and I highly recommend them. The Pho menu was limited to the choices of beef you could get. The noodles they used were a little smaller than other places I've had Pho but it was still good.
