Decently priced beer selection and super speedy service! Homemade chips were extra yummy. Burger came out a little dry for my taste; I'm a pink in the middle meat eater and burgers were absolutely well done. Cheap, fast and easy! Probably not my top 3 burger joints in OKC but for Edmond it's nice to see a cool spot with beers and TV's that doesn't have that chain restaurant vibe. Oh AND the parking lot is a hot mess danger zone ... Beware!

Okay so I'm updating this because I decided to give them a second try. Same situation, getting food to go. I didn't wait more than ten minutes. The food was great. And the service was awesome. The guy behind the bar (Michael) is fantastic. Friendly, fast, and super courteous. All in all, I was pleased with this experience. Personally, I think the last time was a fit of bad luck. I'll be eating at flat tire again in the future.

I had the mac and cheese burger, minus the onions and jalapeños, add mushrooms with a side of homemade chips. I'll break it down. Burger: meat was greasy and bland. Like, zero flavor. Mac and cheese: I use that term loosely because it was naked, oily noodles with a slice of American cheese on top. No thank you. Mushrooms: didn't have enough to judge flavor. Bacon: mostly fat. Needed trimming and seasoning. Chips: bland and dry How I'd fix it: Burger: add seasoned salt at least when cooking it. Anything. Mac and cheese and bacon: use cheddar, crumble up bacon and fry into a patty with a seasoned batter. Way more flavorful. Chips: cook them with seasoned salt on them and serve with a sauce, like a garlic aioli.

I'm almost never in Edmond, but when I am, I try to have a burger at Flatire. It's a neat little restaurant with a decent beer selection and some really tasty burgers. I've been a couple of times now and have had different burgers on each visit. On my last visit, I had their Hickory BBQ burger and I was quite impressed with not only its taste, but its consistency. I expected the burger to be a little soggy, considering it was going to have BBQ sauce on it, but to my surprise...the bread held up to the BBQ sauce quite nicely. My burger never turned into a pile of soft bread, BBQ sauce, and meat. I also recommend trying some of their classic burgers that include Flatire's special sauce. The only comparison I can make to their sauce is the sauce used by In-N-Out burger. It's not as good as In-N-Out, but it's damn good, nonetheless. Flatire has a nice patio, where one can enjoy a beer and a burger. (I actually recommend eating on the patio, weather permitting.) The service has always been extremely nice and the prices are fair. I paid around $11 for a burger and fries. I'm a fan of this place and think it's definitely worth a visit.

I absolutely LOVED my burger! I rarely finish my burger, but this one didn't have a chance! Amazing to say the least. The only downfall I really saw was that it was a little pricey, but it is definitely somewhere to go as a treat occasionally! Service was great and the atmosphere was super fun. I will definitely be back!

Stopped in for the first time the past weekend. It is located just a few blocks east from downtown Edmond, right by the college. It is easy to drive by without noticing. The parking lot is tight. Inside is nothing fancy. Small place. Obviously fills a need for a restaurant a short walk from the campus. There are televisions on the walls for game days. Functional, not fancy. I had the "famous" fish tacos which are described as: "Boulevard Wheat battered tilapia, cabbage and chipotle tartar sauce with a splash of srirachi in flour tortillas with vegetarian black beans." That would be accurate. And they definitely have a kick to them with the sauce. It will probably clear your sinuses if you are congested. They were good. I ate both of them. My guest had a burger which they said was fine. No complaints. Service was fine. It was not busy as it was Sunday afternoon. Fine place to grab a quick bite to eat. The menu covers the basics of burgers, chicken, salads, tacos. Quite a few different topping combos available for the burgers. Cost for the two of us was under $25 including tip.

Let me just say, even without the fun name, giving all sorts of opportunity for inappropriate commentary, "The Butcher's Wife" is absolutely amazing for those of us who like a big, meaty, flavorful burger. Just tell the waiter/waitress "I'm in the mood for the butcher's wife," and you can thank me later.

My son and I dined here recently with family. We really liked Flat Tire burgers. My son had a bacon cheeseburger and I had a green chili burger. Both were quite good. I really liked the green chili burger. My cousin had a Tuna burger and raves about it. The regular fries are Ok but the sweet potato fries are delicious (and they give you a bunch). When we come back to Edmond, we'll make it a point to stop by Flat Tire Burgers. Visited July 2011

SNAP! That's one tasty custom burger. Choose your bun, patty(fish, chkn, vegi, beef), and cheese! My personal favorites are the blowout and their classic #21 fish tacos! Come here with an empty stomach and an eye for people watching. Especially on their double decker patio! This artsy burger shack is located right off UCO's campus and is a fantastic place to break down. The only downer is they do not have a full service bar. They do, however, serve a variety of 3.2 beers! Drink up!

I love Flatire! I come here a couple times a week since it's so close to campus and the staff is so friendly and attentive. My server, Zavier, was always sure to keep my glass full and was more than happy to make sure my very complicated order came out perfectly. It has a great atmosphere and I genuinely enjoy dining here.

Burgers are pretty good, but I believe its more about the toppings. You get options from the bun to the meat, turkey, veggie, beef, tilapia, to cheeses, grilled onions, jalepenos, etc. Good food, but I first ate this when I was early in college and it was 5 bucks for a meal for students, now it is like 9. It has turned into more of a family place, which actually sucks because students are the reason it thrived originally. They have a few good beer choices, but low point. Overall, I still stop by and eat there, but just isn't the same atmosphere as it once was with 60 ounce beers and cheap delish food almost on campus.

One of the best places here in Edmond to eat burgers. Has good a good beer menu. Even though it is near the University of Cent. Ok, the price is not that student friendly.

    (4)
  • Ken P.

The food is always excellent. The only complaint I have, is that they could clean the place a little better. The tables and chairs always seem to be dirty. Other than that, I would give them five stars for the quality of food.

Very good food at reasonable prices. Great selection of burgers and sandwiches, but don't overlook the fish tacos.

  • Samuel H.

This place is simply delicious. I play Rugby for the John Brown University team, and after we played the University of Central Oklahoma, we were treated to lunch here. We did not have to pay, so I don't know about the price, but the food was amazing.

    (5)
  • Niegel P.

The burgers are really good. The price is a bit on the expensive side. Just watch out for the time you go because they can get busy.

  • Alexx R.

I never eat inside Flat Tire, too crowded, nowhere to sit. Their green chili burger with grilled chicken instead of beef is to die for. Then you have to get sweet potato fries. Yum.

    (4)
  • Candice B.

The food is good, but not worth the price. They have really good service and close to the University. There just isn't much burger for the price. Not really a fan of the cheese fries either.

  • Jeff M.

The place is always busy, which makes sense since it's across the street from UCO. A majority of the patrons are frat boys watching sports on the TVs or what appear to be some really cheap lunch dates. Wednesdays have a special place in my heart because you can get free sides with your burger (and their fries are nice). A most excellent deal indeed. I rarely if ever eat in. Not because the clientele are bad. They're all pretty calm and well behaved for university students, and the service is really good (especially at the bar). But for some odd reason, there's this... rank smell that just burrows into your clothes and never lets go if you happen to stay in this place for too long. So I always call, place my order, give them plenty of time to have it ready and then pick it up and run out of there in the hopes that I don't smell like funky burgers. The food is amazing. And for whatever reason, the smell isn't there when you eat the food, so I dunno what the problem is exactly. Their classic burgers are great. They come with their special "classic" sauce which I'm pretty sure is some kind of Thousand Island dressing. It tastes absolutely delicious. Other great burgers include: Hell's Kitchen, Jalapeno, Mushroom & Swiss, etc. Regardless of what you pick, you're going to get something that is incredibly meaty, thick and hearty. They also offer whole wheat buns, which I like much more than the white buns (not that it makes a difference in the grand scheme of things). The price you pay gets you a very satisfying meal (unlike some other places like Johnnie's Charcoal Broiler for example). Head over there on a Wednesday. Remember to wear clothes that you don't care about when you go.

Half ass'ed cooking (shame on the kitchen staff). 3.2 beer only. Slow/incompetent/ignorant wait staff (poorly trained)

This is my number one burger place. The Flat Tire Blowout is my absolute favorite. The sweet potato fries are my favorite as well. Service is always excellent. Love this place.

  • Emily D.

My parents swear by this place, and mummy always raves about the "Flatire Famous Fish Tacos" (7.99) and daddy switching it up with one of their burger incarnations. And if this place is good enough for Momma and Pappa D., then it's good enough for you. If you look anything like a college student, then go for the student special and your wallet will thank you though your body may hate you. A popular local joint with a fun atmosphere and reliably good food.

  • Austin M.

Great food. A bit pricy for a campus dive bit get the student special and you will be fine.

  • Joel M.

I went there for the s'mores. It was awesome. Plus it was on a Friday night can't beat $1 beer. The only this that sucked is a "guy waiter" was too busy "flirting" with the table of girls. Probably woulda gota pretty good tip if I didn't have to bug him/her to get a refill on my drink or to even order for me and my family. I'll still go back but ask for a different waiter next time.

Fantastic burgers, sweet potato fries and fried pickles. An Edmond favorite, for sure!

Pretty good burgers. Nothing too spectacular but tasty. Fast service, free refills. They have a nice patio if the weather permits.

Amazing burgers, but pretty greasy. The fries are also really good and crispy. It's all pretty cheap and taste great. But it isnt the healthiest choice thats for sure.

Quite possibly the best burger I have had!

I had the guac burger and husband had mac and cheese burger. His was outstanding. French fries on other tables looked yummy, wish we got some: Service was very good.

Very delicious burgers, friendly service, great location close to UCO and Downtown Edmond, full bar, and outside patio. The french fries are horrible. Haven't tried the other sides, hopefully they are better. Lots of HDTVs courtesy of Citizen's Bank of Edmond.

Huge fan of anywhere local that takes on the burgers with turkey! So tasty you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Great atmosphere too! Really wish they would open a 2nd location on the west side of Edmond or NW OKC!

Flattire is a great place to eat. Not a very big place, but great outdoor seating! Green chili fries are the bomb!

I think this burger is okie, not really excellent. They serve a fresh burgers. The service is okie. And the ambiance there is good. I just come there when I want to change my taste.

Admittedly, Flatire's biggest draw for me is its proximity to my workplace. Taking my car off campus to eat can be a gamble because there's no guarantee I will have a place to park upon my return. So if I want lunch out, Flatire, it usually is. Their veggie burgers are good -- not as good as S&B's veggie patties, but palatable. I had one unfortunate instance where the waiter did not hear my request for a veggie patty and brought me a regular patty... I was not pleased, but he got it resolved. Another time, I had to return not one, but two salads because my requests for no-meat were ignored (I ended up eating French fries for lunch that day!). They're a little expensive, as my meal comes out to $15 which you wouldn't expect for burgers, but like I mentioned above, I do like the convenience of walking to lunch. If you're around UCO and want a bite to eat, Flatire will do all right.

Food was amazing. Always order too much because I forget how big their servings are! Service depends on when you go in there. Some has been good and some not to helpful.

First time today. Had the fish tacos which were bland. Beans were good. Wife had Tuna burger. So-So. Restaurant environment feels tacky, unclean. Waiter gave us the feeling he didn't want to be there. Drink prices 2.39 each. Our first and last time.

I love the green chili hamburger. Oh my very good. The cheesy fries are really good too.

Never had a bad experience here. The service is always fast and friendly. The atmosphere is always fun and energetic; its next to a college campus. It is great for families or students. There is a large patio that is great in the spring and fall. The only thing I have a hard time with is deciding what to get each visit. There are numerous different patty choices; beef, turkey, veggie. Then what type of fries... just so many delicious choices. The sweet potato fries are the best in town. They also have options for those times when you are not in the mood for a burger. I always go for the fish tacos on those (rare) days!

  • Amaryllia L.

After a morning presentation, we came here for lunch at the recommendation of UCO staff. $30 total for 2 bottles of beer, fried pickles with ranch dip (yes, you heard me right), chicken tacos, and their flatire famous fish tacos (huuuge amounts of fish). Everything was yummy but beware that the tacos are enormous... I ate 2 out of the 3 I got and am still stuffed three hours later. Note: If you think you look young enough to pass as a college student, make sure to ask them about their student specials (which applied to the burger and cheeseburgers today). They won't ask you for a student ID to prove it so don't worry =)

I have this weird relationship with Flatire. If you don't know me, then you don't know that I have been at UCO as a student and now full time employee since 2006. I've been an Edmond resident since then. I have eaten too many Flatire burgers to count on one or two or even three hands. It's always been there, available for a Broncho (which is the large beer tower you can order) or an order sweet potato fries whenever I've needed it. The source of my love/hate relationship with Flatire is how it's evolved over the years. When I was a freshman in college, the big deal was that (with your student ID) you could get a burger, fries, and a coke for only $5. That was such a good price, we went there at least once every 2 weeks, everyone getting burgers and fries and then splitting the s'mores platter (the first place I'd ever seen offer tableside s'mores). It was a favorite of our then-president, W. Roger Webb, and sometimes you'd catch a glimpse and call him ove, and he'd greet tables of students like old friends. Then, things started to change. The student special started to increase in price. The menu expanded to salads and tacos and chips and queso. And we still went - on Friday afternoons with friends and left satisfied. Decorations started popping up so it didn't so much look like the little burger dive across the street from campus but maybe a place that could turn into a franchise. Then, they moved Flatire on campus into the food court, where the prices increased even more. (although, here's a tip. If you're ever on campus early, they have the BEST and CHEAPEST biscuits and gravy around. I'm talking like huge portion, $3 cheap) We started calling it Flatire $10 Burgers because that's around the amount you were going to spend on a burger and fries. Don't get me wrong, I still eat there. The burgers are... fine...they aren't as fresh as I would like them to be, and the atmosphere is great. I've had some of the salads, and one I liked in particular isn't on the menu any longer. It was like a crispy buffalo chicken salad. I really miss it. I always get a flood of memories when I eat there. It takes me back to 2007 when a group of friends from college (that I still have) finished our performance of Freshman Follies and all ate and took pictures and posted it to this cool new website called Facebook. I still get those feelings when I'm there, I just wish the prices were the same as they were back then. And bring back the student special!

Portions were big so I could barely finish my meal - had to take leftovers to go. For a burger, fries, and a coke, the total was about $14. It's definitely not fast food price but the quality was worth it. It was a busy night but we got immediate seating for two people. Our waiter was a cool guy - pleasant to talk to and didn't hover around us. We got our food really fast which I appreciated since we were on a time crunch. The main dining room was small so it was very loud. For a burger joint, that's normal, it didn't bother me. They have rooftop seating which was jam packed with people. I think there might have been only one stall for the bathroom because there was a looooong line for the women's side and it didn't get any better as the night went on.

Over the past 6+ months this place has really gone down hill... Having been an avid customer since moving here 2 yrs ago I am sad to see this place go downhill. It all started a few months ago when a waiter said there were changes to the menu to help cut cost. Like their Chili Burger, gone to save cost as he put it. Continuing with that trend we asked about the normal beer special which they told us is no longer available. So if you don't want to pay for a craft beer or don't want straight Budweiser you are SOL. Needless to say after tonight, we wont be going back.. First let me say the service that was impeccable and always on point until now. My daughter actually had to go up to the waiter area to fill her drink, I had to go up and ask one of the waiters who was talking in a group with fellow co workers for water because our waiter disappeared. Continuing on with the bad service, we did manage to get our check mid-meal and we were asked if we wanted a box after getting our order only 5 minutes earlier. I am guessing they did not want us to get too far into the meal before they got their money. As for the food, the reason I gave 2 stars and not one is because the bread, burger and fried pickles were good. As for the rest...just stay with the burgers. We usually never venture away from the burgers but this time we did... My daughter ordered a burger with fries and like I said the burger was good but the fries were limp, soggy and dead. For a 14yr kid who swims 2 hours a day, runs and weight trains not to eat something, well that says a lot. My wife and I ordered their loaded nachos and a cob salad. The nachos were terrible and looked the part; low grade cheese, the sour cream looked like it had been squeezed out of tube and the guacamole was brown..The salad was DOA! The lettuce was definitely from a bag and had been stored for more than a day pre-cut. It had that lovely red color old cut lettuce has when stored open air. The tomatoes were not fresh and a very light pail red, indicating a refrigerator storage and old. Dressing lacked taste and the chicken was a the same they put on the nachos, marinated for too long hell... This $10 salad was $8 too much! Summary: Head to the Garage, Cow Calf-Hay or Tuckers! All have better prices and a more adventurous menu and unlike FlatTire are not on the decline. You can bounce all over their menus with confidence. I think the competition from up and coming other burger places has proven too much for FlatTire. What was once our favorite spot has been declining steadily since this summer. Good bye, it was nice while it lasted...

Second time I have been here. Burgers are fantastic, milk shakes are epic and the atmosphere is fun for dates or family fun. Love it!!

  • Sarah S.

This place is OK, but I feel like it's a little too hyped up. The atmosphere is fun and trendy, but as far as the food goes, it's just average. Service is good, and the s'more pit was cool, but after hearing everyone praise it so much I was a little disappointed. Definitely an experience and cool hang out place, I just feel like there are so many other places with better food.

Love the food and atmosphere, but the service has declined at Bethany and waited on hold for 10 minutes at the Edmond location.

Great prices! Awesome burgers and service. Cool place. Make sure you call ahead because it gets really crowded. The s'mores are a great and they give you a lot for your money.

  • John S.

Wow, this place really has a some good burgers. They will make it any way you like it. I got it with hickory sauce, onions, and cheese. They LOADED my burger with onions. It was great. We had their chips, salsa, and queso. It was the only thing I felt wasn't really up to par. Stick to the fries.

    (4)
  • Justin S.

One of the better burger shops in Edmond. You'll pay a lil more for your burger but the fries and rings are really solid. Do it yourself S'mores for dessert is fun. Just off UCO campus definitely has a college feel.

Flat Tire Burger is one of my top three burger joints in Edmond. They have some very unusual specialty burgers. All their specialty burgers I have tried have been delicious. The cheese fries are usually very good but a couple times they were not so hot. A great place for guys night out to get your burger fix.

Excellent location and good service. Food was what you would expect from this type of establishment. Great place to meet friends and have a brew or two.
