I have been a customer here for 15+ years. The owners know me and always take pretty good care of me when I come in. I wish it was the same quality and quantity of food that it was back when. It's still great, and such an awesome price. It's not as awesome as it was when I was a kid, skipping school and walking here to eat with a group of friends. But, I understand that times, menus, and prices change. I still order to go every week. Their egg drop soup is amazing and I love their shrimp fried rice. My husband loves the sweet and sour chicken & beef broccoli.

There was a point in my collegiate life where I would order takeout from Egg Roll Express every other day. No exaggeration. It was a weird time in my early 20s when I was eating my feelings and then eating some more because I felt sad about getting fat from eating my feelings. The food is amazingly yummy, and incredibly filling. The portion sizes border on the obscene. If you get something like the lunch special, it's a meat of your choice (my favorite was the Hunan Chicken, extra spicy) along with fried rice, an egg roll, and soup. Usually, I'd ask to opt out on the soup and they'd simply overload on the rice to make sure I got my money's worth. Just what you need. More carbs. All of that food there comes to around $5.00-6.00, which I think is pretty reasonable. The customer service leaves something to be desired. On a good day, they're short and to the point and you get in and out (if you're lucky) with a small smile. On a bad day, they'll be yelling to each other and ignoring you even while you're in mid-sentence with them. Customer relations is not their forté, but they make up for it in spades with the food. So really, it's up to you to decide on whether you're okay with spending your money at a place where they could give a rat's nether regions on whether you feel welcome or not. I had one particularly bad experience with them that had me telling my friends that I would never come back. However, just like Bubbles on 'The Wire', I'm never gone for long. You cannot find better American Chinese food in Edmond. If you do know of a better place (in Edmond), please tell me because I would love to try it. Summary: Delicious, cheap, and large portions. There's a great variety on lunch specials. And did I mention that it's delicious? Call them, show up 20 minutes later, and be out in under a minute. The food and fast service usually makes up for the average to sub-par attitudes. Also, it's cash only if I remember correctly, which is why I don't frequent the place as often anymore. Who carries cash nowadays? Not I.

Good old fashion American Chinese food. Food that everyone knows and loves on this side of the world. I love the bbq pork lo mein and chicken fried rice. Full disclosure, my girlfriend's dad owns this place. I eat here a lot, and it is freaking good.

Super cheap and fast! They have the best sweet and sour chicken. Cash only, but it's a lot better than the other surrounding Chinese restaurants.

If you are not in for an authentic Chinese food its the right place for you. I think the food is not fresh but you get what you pay for. The hot and sour soup is good but it would be wonderful if it wasn't that oily. Oh, don't fall for its name, the egg rolls are not good at all. The fried rice is also just ok, the shrimp and the chicken.

We came in from Austin TX for the Mumford and Sons festival. The food at the festival was terrible and expensive, so we were looking for something filling, good and cheap. Egg Roll Express was all the above. Three of us ate for 22$ wow and had plenty to bring back for dinner that night. The food was so flavorful you didn't want to stop eating. If we're ever back in Edmond this is where were stopping. I highly recommend this place. The one negative comment would be they only except cash.

"Go to Egg Roll Express. Seriously." Given how I enjoy trying new things and my never-ending quest for the best soups, this advice should have been sufficient years ago. Only today did I set my mind to testing this place out for myself. First, the parking. It's not good. The lot is tiny and really not sufficient. Getting in and out of the lot is a bit of a pain. This was easily the worst part about the entire trip. In perspective, that seems to be a fairly good thing. The inside is pretty casual, appearing dated yet clean. The menu is entirely standard Chinese takeout fare without any twists. As fond as I am of chef creativity, there's something to be said for someone who can cook a meal I have had a dozen times before and still manage to impress me. Did they do that here? Yes. Yes they did. I went for the special fried rice, which is fried rice with a mix of beef, pork, shrimp, chicken, and imitation crab. A large order of this plus hot and sour soup results in enough food for two people or one person who wants leftovers later that evening. The fried rice itself is great, not unlike Singapore fried rice minus the curry flavor. The variety of meat really makes this dish interesting the whole way through. Now for the hot and sour soup. My friends will testify that I get a little bit excited over a good hot and sour soup. Perhaps there is even justification for adjectives such as fanatical. This was a solid if standard hot and sour soup. It wasn't the best I have tasted, nor even really the best soup in town, but it was good and I was not disappointed. I had no difficulty tasting the light sour tang. The spice was modest but overshadowed by the spice in the fried rice which I had asked for. Certainly better than the flavorless pretenses of soup I have had at other takeout restaurants. I can say that it was enjoyable enough that I appreciated the generous portion. So, there are platters that run about $6 after tax for lunch and my order large enough to fill me for two meals ended up just under $10. While "cash only" can seem like an inconvenience, it does away with the surprisingly high expense on the merchant for a credit transaction. It is absolutely visible in the prices. While this isn't a common policy, there are other restaurants in town which go by "cash only" in exchange for being cheaper than the competition. Four stars. Getting there, parking, and getting out are all a major annoyance and my hopes for the soup may have been a bit too high after recommendations, but I find myself quite pleased.

Holy crap batman. We drove from Harrah (apparently dad does this at least once a week) to get take out. We didnt even eat in. I had beef and broccoli, steak teriyaki, and an egg roll. The egg roll isnt as good as Blue Moon but the beef and broccoli and teriyaki are both awesome. Tender meat, fresh veggies. The broccoli was bright green and crisp, which is hard to find at most take out restaurants. It came to about $10/pp and they only have unsweetened tea. Minus one star for being "cash only". I think that is super sketchy.

Edmond Classic. Egg Roll Express is a nice little family owned Chinese restaurant. The menu is pretty basic, chow meins, lo meins, fried rices, and a few fan favorites like General Tso's Chicken and others. I really enjoy their Combination Lo Mein and their Chicken Fried Rice. All the dishes are cooked MSG free. The food has a pretty authentic taste fused with a Hong Kong tinge, the main cook is from Hong Kong. Either way, I've been eating here for 10 years, the prices are great ~$5 for lunch, $6 for dinner and it'll fill you up really well with some great food! Highly recommend it. Cash only.

It's good "old-school" chinese food. No buffett, just order by number. I've had the old standards of chow-mein, pepper beef, and sweet and sour pork. No complaints, I think I like the sweet and sour pork the best. Egg drop soup was good. Too bad for their namesake, the egg rolls are just so-so. Not bad, just not call home good. Cash only FYI, and .50 cent refills, but worth a quick lunch stop.

Great Chinese food and the BEST hot and sour soup around! Make sure to bring cash because that is the only form of payment they accept.

Completely blows away all other Edmond Chinese food. The building itself is deceiving...but the food is ALWAYS exceptional! I recommend ordering "take out". Best Lo Mein around, beef&broccoli is good, as well as fried rice. My kids love the sweet&sour chicken. BE SURE TO BRING CASH...b/c that's all they accept.
