My newest City Bites discovery is the Kiddie City. It's 1/4 of a sandwich (still plenty for most people for a light lunch, especially girls who sit in front of a computer all day, like yours truly) chips and a drink for $4.10. I stopped into this Edmond one after some meetings the other day. I was starving, and decided it was best to grab a bite to eat before hitting the Super Target. You guys know I don't do well when I shop on an empty stomach, but especially when that shopping involves dealing with Edmond soccer moms (see my Edmond Target review for more intel on that). So, we can all agree City Bites was a good call no matter what, but I'm happy to report that (like all City Bites), very clean, with helpful, friendly staff. I came in at an off time, but my sandwich was ready in two minutes - seriously, I barely had time to get a drink. I was in and out in less time than it would have taken to drive thru at McDonald's, and way better to get a small sandwich and support a local company.

My husband and I ate here for lunch the other day, and we came to the conclusion that we haven't had anything bad. I had the mesquite chicken spud (one word. Yum.) which is always a go-to in my book. Super filling with great ingredients. My husband had the "Beef Eater" sandwich on jalapeño cheese bread, which he really liked. I will say, I had a bite and was really impressed. The grilled sirloin steak was definitely a winner, and for a girl who doesn't like jalapeños, the bread was a good choice too. We also split a small cup of tomato soup. My husband is not a soup eater, but when he says he really likes a soup, you know it's good. Awesome taste and it was pretty hardy.. something you can be full from. Overall, it's a pretty good little sandwich shop. Possibly a little pricey (I think my husbands sandwich was like $10)... but, a nice break from the other Edmond food chains.

When one usually ominously utters the maxim "never judge a book by its cover" 7 out of 10 times it's usually to indicate that something is usually better or has a lot more to it than what it looks like. City Bites is actually the exact opposite; they have an awesome, unique decor (think McDonalds Playhouse meets Clockwork Orange), what seems to be a well thought-out menu and the descriptions they have of their individual menu items make them sound absolutely amazing. Remember that Mastercard commercial they used to run in the early 00's (oh my god has it been a decade already?) about the couple that goes out on a romantic dinner and everything ends up being picture-perfect until they get their food at the restaurant and it turns out the food is about the size of a baby's meal and they end up going to some fast food restaurant at the end of the commercial? City Bites is exactly that, except this place doesn't deal out amazing amuse-bouches like the restaurant in the commercial probably did, and chances are you probably won't be getting fast food to supplant this experience because well... City Bites tastes exactly like fast food; the mesquite chicken sandwich here is roughly about the size of a bruschetta with a bit of chicken melted into the cheese and a dabble of sauce on top of it all. If you have a thing for eating at places with curiously amusing decor, then City Bites might be for you, but if I'm going to spend seven dollars to be disappointed with it, I'd much rather it be in the form of a badly mixed drink or an overpriced domestic beer at some fancy hotel. Just sayin'.

Food was good, customer service was fine--not exceptional, but not bad. Always enjoy the cookies. Tried the Baja chicken tacos and was pleasantly surprised.

Best club sandwich I have ever had! I have tried the club sandwich at pretty much every restaurant and this is the best. Everything else is good but not great. Most of the cookies look good but are dry and tasteless with the execption of the red velvet cookie and pumpkin.

Why are the pumpkin cookies getting smaller (and more expensive) every time I go here? Disappointing. Everything else is still amazing. The manager still remembers me and it's been nearly a year since I've been here.

Raised in Edmond, I've grown up with City Bites. The owner of City Bites was the father of one of my sister's soccer teammates. So I have sort of a sentimental value towards this restaurant. HOWEVER, the quality of food versus the price definitely left me looking for more. 1) The sandwiches: The sandwiches are the bread and butter of City Bites, literally. They butter the bread and it tastes delicious. There is a good variety of cold and hot sandwiches, choosing between 6' and footlong. The also have four types of bread to choose from, standard stuff for a good sandwich place. Customizable sandwich toppings and condiments also had a personal touch. I have to say that the sandwiches do taste great. Recently, I had their Philly Cheesesteak. It was pretty good, just a notch better than Subway. But this quality of sandwich can be found elsewhere, it is about mid-top tier local sandwich place. 2) The cookies: They are getting sooooo small! Three years ago, they were huge! Still same taste, basic sandwich shop cookie, nothing special, or anything to get excited about, especially because of the decreasing size and increasing prices. 3) Decor and Service: The restaurant is pretty interesting. Random everyday objects slewn across the ceiling with interesting paint. It makes it a lively environment, a good place for high school kids to hang out. The service was decent, nothing spectacular. 4) Price: EXPENSIVE, especially for what you're getting. You might as well go to Subway, get nearly the same sandwich and save $5. A footlong sandwich is ~$10. A 6-inch is ~$6. Conclusion: Better taste than chain sandwich shops (Subway, Quiznos, etc.), but 110% NOT WORTH THE COST. If you can shell out the $10 for lunch for a barely above average sandwich, then this is your cup of tea. But for the majority of people who aren't making loads of cash, I would steer clear of City Bites.

Best selection of tea at a sandwich shop! I love the sandwiches and the spuds! Good choices for cookies, chips and bread. Love this place!
