Even though I'd already had Tex-Mex for lunch, I was happy to have dinner with my husband at 3 Tequilas. We took advantage of their 2 margaritas & fajitas for 2 special. It was a huge serving of food and though their margaritas were the perfect size. We enjoyed the guitar player and gave him a few dollars because he added to the real and wonderful experience of the evening.

Awesome food, drinks and service.. Always enjoy coming here great selection of food and excellent quality of food . The staff is great I recommend this place to anyone especially for their margaritas

The medium margarita might be ideal to be shared between two people. Or if by one person, I recommend eating lighter. Otherwise, you could end up in a food/sugar coma. We enjoyed the experience and the food was tasty and a clean environment.

I've been several times and this place or great. The white queso and salsa are divine. Drinks are good and not expensive. Everything I've tried has been delicious.

Just want to make sure others don't go to this place & get crappy service because the owner refuses to put enough waitstaff on. Also hire a bartender so your understaffed waitstaff doesn't hv to make their own drinks!! Prepare to wait forever for decent food!

This place has the largest margaritas ever we called them a birdbath margaritas in San Diego because they're really wide and hollow these we call hot tub margaritas because they're big and deep. Prices are amazing there a key so is on point not a fan of their salsa to be honest it taste like ketchup. Me and my husband both had their tostada lunch for six dollars it was great. Can't beat the prices

The set up and drinks are the best! The service was very fast as well. The menu offers a combination of authentic and tex-mex foods. Everyone in your party should be happy. The margaritas are huge. We got the 45 oz. so perfect for sharing.

Umm... Fantastic!? Everything was so good, I was literally scraping pico and grilled veggies with the queso blanco off of my plate. The chimichangas are perfect in that they aren't overly done, the shredded chicken wasn't over flooding, and the grilled tomatoes and onions were scrumptious and still juicy. The fajitas were extremely flavorful, as well. And I cannot stop eating the queso... Still. Sangria swirls are awesome, too. This is our new go-to for Mexican cuisine. Great job Carolina and 3 Tequilas. We were/are impressed.

The only reason I gave two stars is because the food was good. Unfortunately the service was extremely terrible. Waited forever for someone to acknowledge us when we entered (we are a family of 5 so it's pretty hard to miss us). Finally after 7 servers passed us and ignored us one finally came and seated us. Waited forever for someone to take our drink order. Then fever to get my margarita. Then forever to take our food order. Oh, and the bathroom had pee all over the floor. Will not be back.

Took multiple tries trying to actually get what I ordered. The waiter kept misunderstanding, arguing, and bringing out the wrong thing. At one point they just tried to cover up. Finally gave up. Won't be back.

My favorite Mexican in Edmond! It's a quaint little restaurant with great service, with a real Mexican taste. The white queso is to die for and you should ask for the big mama margarita!

  • Cara C.

The food was pretty good. The selection was vibrant and unique for Tex-Mex. I am only going with 3 stars because our service was very poor. Super slow, short, and we felt ignored. I will give it another shot and update my review if the service is better otherwise I will cross it off the list for good! (Edit: went back and the service was much better! Upped to 4 stars)

Driving across country we stopped in Edmond to visit an old friend. She and her husband brought us to their favorite Mexican place; they knew we were on a tight budget and assured us that this place was budget friendly! The food was fantastic! I'd recommend it to anyone.

One of the few places you can get CLOSE to authentic Mexican cuisine. Service is always prompt, food is always fresh and tasty. The margaritas are huge, beware! My favorite from here is the "Super Fajita Nachos Supreme". Also be sure to bask in the deliciousness of actual queso, not chicken broth infused sick.

Average drinks but the food... worst Mexican food I've had in Oklahoma. Queso was watered down (very milky). The chili Verde had no flavor. I was adding salt, pepper and salsa to add flavor. Couldn't finish the food. Terrible.

What happened? I've been here 3 or 4 times for dinner, and thought it was great. Went today for lunch, and aside from the chips and white queso, it was the worst Mexican food lunch I've had. Three of us, and we had the chicken chimichanga, chicken enchiladas, and tamales. Chicken was watery with little seasoning, tamale was way off, and none of it was hot. Do they have different folks working at lunch. Hugely dissapointed.

3 tequilas may have the best margaritas I've ever had! The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was a lot of fun. The only complaint I would have is that the tomales could have had a tad bit more potent flavor. Everything else was great! The guy that walks around singing was a nice touch. I will definitely go back.

Our family favorite Mexican food. It has authentic Mexican and Tex-Mex dishes. Great service and clean. It looks like a dive Mexican joint, but its so good. Its always very busy with different clientele. I recognize the owner from Chelino's. He was a waiter there long ago. Nice to see he's living the American dream as a small business owner. The lunch specials are affordable lunch prices (under $10 w/ drink) and the dinner's are priced right also. Food: They have free white queso and tortillas upon req. I love the salsa. Its roasted and not the diced/blended salsa you get at Chelino's (which is tasty also). I recommending ordering something other than what can you get at El Chico. My favorite is the Tacos de Asada w/ chorizo. My kids always order the chicken chimichanga. Not your typical heavily fried chimi loaded with cheese, light and full of fresh chicken. I like soda and flat soda can be a deal breaker for me. The Coke and Dr. Pepper are perfectly fizzy. Beer specials and beer specials. I've seen some delicious looking drinks being ordered also. There is a small cantina in the back. They have a patio with 4-5 tables and weather permitting are in high demand. LOTS of TVs! Great place to watch any game you ever wanted to watch ever. I'm not kidding. They have 3-4 TVs on EACH wall with great reception. We've watched International soccer, Thunder basketball, NFL, and most recently Wheel of Fortune on a Tuesday night.....LOL

This is THE BEST Mexican food in the OKC area. THEOR cheese sauce and red sauce is amazing! They are fast and it's not real expensive!

This is my family's favorite place to grab a fun dinner out. The food is delicious, the staff courteous, and they are kid-friendly (we have two kids two and under). I love the enchiladas and always have a yummy margarita. We are regular customers- especially in the summer. Love 3 Tequilas.

This place has gone to hell! Their service is terrible, food is average, pretty sure I could do just as well at PePes and that's not a good thing! Brought our food out, no plates, no silverware and the kids orders were wrong. This is our second time to have equally as bad service, we try to give every restaurant 2 tries before we write them off. Sadly with as amazing as they were when they first opened, we will not be going back! Avoid!

Food is great and margaritas are plentiful! This is one of my favorite go to spots!

  • Chase C.

This place was great! Huge margaritas aswell, and it's cheap! Not as spicy as texmex, but it's authentic and still wonderful. Great place to have some great food and watch a game!

My husband & I go here alot! We LOVE this place. Food is great and the service has always been up to par here. We come here at least once a month or more. We even bring family here also and they are pretty pleased with the food and service as well. Love when they have the guy that plays the guitar and sings. Pretty durn tasty I must say!

We've driven by 3 Tequilas many times and after reading the reviews, decided to give it a shot. It's a small place and was overflowing with customers. We put our name on the list and repositioned to the small bar in the back. There was not a true bartender and with the waitstaff, while doing their table jobs, were also mixing drinks, it was not good equation. I had to wait 15 minutes for a skinny margarita, which was not the best. I chose it since it is made from fresh squeezed limes and not a mixer which is normally a good choice at most places. We were later seated at our table and 10 minutes later our server came to take our order. The problem? No menus. We finally were able to order and received our food in short order. Still needed silverware though. I had a pork verde dish and it was very good. Big chunks of slow roasted pork in a nice verde sauce. My wife had a chilled shrimp dish which she enjoyed. Food was great but the service was a complete bust. We later found that perhaps the problem with the service was they had a few key folks in Tulsa assisting with the opening of their new restaurant. Since the food was really good, I'll give them the benefit of a doubt and give them another shot in a few weeks and try a different margarita.

Very nice Mexican food for Edmond. Huge margaritas and good salsa and cheese sauce. I had chile verde and wife had chicken quesadillas. Service was good.

I recommend the nachos! And the margaritas are huge!! Always great and friendly service.

I was here with friends and got shrimp ceviche (awesome!), fish tacos (killer!), and some other dishes. I can't remembering else because my margarita was too big.

This place is a true family run establishment. I love the food and will return at least once a month. Fantastic!

White cheese dip is the best in town. Margaritas are huge. Fajita chimichanga for lunch is the way to go.

  • Austin M.

This place is so good. One of the only Mexican restaurants that serve the traditional white queso not that yellow cheese dip stuff. The only problem is a big one for me. The portions are really small the restaurant is really small and the service stinks. They have complimentary tortillas but they only bring you about two at a time and if you want more you won't get any unless you beg.

Food was good but service left something to be desired. Excellent Corona Margarita. Would definitely give another try to see if service was better. They actually ran out of forks.

Hubby rated it 2 stars and I gave it 3 stars. The good: nice quaint location in Edmond and overall clean. The bad: service and food were average. Nothing stood out, but the parking got packed by the time we left, so there must be a lot of people that like it.

  • Ryan H.

We noticed that the parking lot of this place was generally full, and had heard good things, so thought we should try it out. My wife & I were very pleased with the food, the service was decent, and the prices are incredible! The only real downside is that they need to learn how to work the thermostat. It felt like it was 85 degrees in there on a hot summer day. We'll be back for sure, though.

Wow is this place outstanding. I tell everyone I know about it. Don't sit in the main dining, sit in the back (there's a little cantina in the back) great service, great food and the owner actually works which is nice to see. Awesome price point. I like to think its Edmonds Finest Mexican Food.

This is a good place for tex-mex as well as some unique Mexican style food. This is not a chain restaurant it is family owned and operated Portions are large and all our food was definitely fresh. Will be going back to explore more of the menu

Unfortunately every mexican food restaurant in Edmond must be compared to Teds, 3 tequilas is no exception. Where they are the exception is how they fare in this comparison, Teds is okay, that's it just okay nothing special, 3teq is way better but of course it is smaller more humble, friendlier, easier to get into and much much tastier. This is a homegrown joint so don't expect fancy but you can expect well made food and friendly sometimes difficult to understand staff. I had the chili verde pork and liked it a lot I had the same last week at another mex food joint that I have reviewed before and decided we will not be going back to that unnamed place. The portions were large and so was the smile on my sons face when one of the employs made a balloon animal for a young girl sitting next to us. Yea there was a guy in there making balloon animals, kinda caught me off guard also but I warmed to it except the two times balloons popped and scared the bejesus outa the whole place but it ended with a laugh. I will say I do wish that out of the plethora of tex mex places in this city one would go off the beaten path and start coming up with some new food ideas it does get a little old with the same burrito, taco, relleno plates at all the places but until we as customers start demanding that I guess they will stick with what pays the bills. To sum it up this place is easy to find they have a patio that is shaded in the evening (another plus for Edmond which seems to not have very many places to sit outside and eat) stop by and check it out it is not expensive and you may agree with me when I say it is the best Mexican food in Edmond hence the four stars.

Listen to me very closely.... This the BEST Mexican restaurant in Oklahoma City! The cheese dip is authentic white queso dip is a authentic and creamy, unlike the yellow Campbell's cheese soup offered at most other places. The service is always stellar. The food is fresh, hot, and tasty. Grab a free cold drink from the cooler on the right when you walk in the door!

Choriqueso!!! Start with the choriqueso; do yourself a favor and just order it. Massive margaritas and decent cerveza selection! Nice little patio for some beers. TVs are plentiful for soccer and thunder games! Staff is the best! So friendly and happy. I love giving these locals our money because it's such a nice pleasant place to grub! Finally, don't leave this place until you try their homemade tortillas. Seriously, yum! Their fajitas are so flavorful, burritos could feed an army and Mexican style tacos are never a letdown. Love 3 Tequilas!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
