We ordered a large pie for take out yesterday. The pizza is not very good. The sauce is entirely too sweet. It was edible. But I certainly would not purchase pizza from there again. I would have gone back to order something else but when I asked for five paper plates to take back home with us with our pizza that we just ordered, they charged $.10 per plate. All of the servers there said that the owner of the place counts every paper plate and if a paper plate is missing without a charge he would take it out of the servers pay. I cannot believe that they actually do an inventory and take the time to count every paper plate. Charging for a paper plate goes into the category of, "Are you kidding me". Oh.. and another thing.. they charged me tax on the 5 paper plates..

The only reason this place is worth going to is their garlic knots other than that who cares.

I am a regular here. We drive 45 minutes almost weekly to have the grandma pie, well done with garlic knots and and house salad. The staff is friendly, always busy and we understanding they can be slow due to how busy the place is. The food is fantastic and the owner is always there. Never disappointed. I am a pizza fanatic and feel this is the best closest to NYC.

So after our mani/pedis, we had worked up quite an appetite and luckily right next door was Salvatore's Pizza. We both got a slice of white pizza with tomatoes and broccoli which was really good. "Cheesy" as my friend C put it. I said "crusty" but truth is both elements worked in harmony together to make a tasty slice. The restaurant is clean and nicely appointed-upscale in a downscale way. The lady pizza slinger was very nice and next time I am in Red Hook, I would make it a point to go there and try some of their other offerings.

Before we found this place, my friends and I used to order from Cappucino's since it was cheap and right across from our school. BIG MISTAKE. I wasted a year and a half eating nasty, lukewarm pizza until these guys came along and saved me. If you don't think this place has the best pizza in the area, you have no taste buds! I've tried a few of their pizzas and finally found a favorite. Every time I visit this place after that, I get my usual: Hawaiian Pizza. I don't know what kind of ham they use on their Hawaiian, but it is nothing like the flabby, limpid pieces of deli ham other places sprinkle on their Hawaiian pizzas. Sal's also shreds their pineapple to bite-sized pieces and then sprinkles that and mozzarella cheese all over their Hawaiian -- droolworthy. I usually get a small ($9), which is enough for two meals. I've had pizza from here at least 2 dozen times and I've never been disappointed. Furthermore, when a friend came to visit me at school, this was the first place I brought her to eat when she arrived. We split a Hawaiian and, to this day, the deliciousness of this pizza still haunts her. Nobody, and I mean, NOBODY, makes a Hawaiian pizza like they do.

This review shares nothing but my own experience as a regular delivery-order customer. 1.) Delivery service needs to improve, immediately. Every single time I order, never does my order come with napkins or forks, especially if I order a salad--seriously? This literally takes A SECOND, THREE seconds MAX. Careless shipping. 2.) Delivery is always more than a 40-minute wait. 3.) I would have given a rating of 1 star but to be fair, I have not ever stepped foot in the restaurant so I cannot share that experience. Also, I can see how this place can be flooded with delivery orders so I get the wait. FINALLY, FOOD QUALITY. It's late night, there is nothing open in my area, I don't want something that's too heavy of a meal so I order a chicken caesar salad with a side of broccoli. I literally get a small chicken breast sitting on a bed of beat-up iceberg lettuce. The broccoli, drenched and soaked in an inch-thick of some real greasy oil/butter/who knows chunks of what else. Not worth a whole $17 I paid. Should have just gotten a pizza. Also, is it me or is the pizza kinda salty too?

I had to wait over 15minutes for just a slice. After 15mins, I had to inquire where a single slice is...I did not order a pie; A pie takes only 20mins. The staff gave me a garble of a line, which made no sense. After 15min wait, I had no desire to take the slice and asked for my money back. (Note for future: I will not pay ahead of time at anyplace as I have to wait and cannot leave). The staff was taken back at my request. Reluctantly, the staff gave me my money back. Yeah, think I will go the 500ft and visit Village Pizza where I know it is good with good service. (Did hear from friends that since Orig owner sold, this place has gone downhill).

Great pizza -- again! Wife claims this is the best Gluten Free pizza in the Valley, and she's tried a lot of it across the country. Very friendly place.

What a huge disappointment ordering our meal tonight. Had our food delivered. We ordered chicken Alfredo which turned out to be rancid. We called them to explain how repulsive it was and then we were told we had to return the food immediately or we wouldn't get our money back. I thought the objective of having our food delivered was so we didn't have to drive to get our food. Now we were forced to go out and deliver the rancid food back to where it was created. After then returning the garbage, the manager then comes out and said we could of brought it back the next day. Wouldn't you know it.......yup.....one of the girls threw the owner under the bus. After being confronted with the matter at hand, the girl admitted that she the manager never said it had to returned that night and made the decision on her own for us to bring the Alfredo in immediately. Needless to say....it's best not to lie when you have Miss Red Hook on the other end of the line. It won't end up in your favor. As for myself ....I have known Sal the original owner ever since I was a child. He would of never treated a customer in the same manner. Sal always treated everyone as family. Listen up Salvatore's Pizzeria.....offer good food at a fair price, stand behind what you sell and train your staff well and none of this will ever happen again. My Alfredo is better anyway....I just didn't feel like cooking.

Pretty good pizza, dinners, subs all okay, typical pizza parlor type food, they do not exceed expectations but never disappoint either

Good pizza, but is reallyyyyyy messy. Wings decent. The delivery was quick as well. Sal's has been resuscitated for sure, but cut down on some of that grease on the pizza!

They have the BEST GRANDMAS PIZZA I have ever had. They also have amazing cannoli. I would drive over 2 hours in one direction just for their grandma's pie. That says a lot.

Although the pizza was carboard-like, the pizza took so long to come out, I could have baked my own pizza and ate it, too, in the same amount of time. I will no longer eat at this pizzareia. It's a common hangout though, for those late-night people(those who like to eat supper at 9PM-or those who are expected to drink booze about a mile S of this place). Although seating is overall good for most families, for bigger families and groups, don't try going to this place. Tables aren't overly available.

Although this place is no Broadway Pizza in Tivoli, it is very good. Order Grandma's Pizza and they do no wrong.

This was awesome! I stopped in for a slice, and was very pleasantly surprised to see that it was only $2. Then, I was even more pleasantly surprised when it came and I tasted it. Very good! I highly recommend it.

I've been stopping by here more often because I have an urge of pizza all of a sudden. The old style grandma's pizza was getting old so they made different variations of it: bacon and onion, BBQ chicken, and others i can't think of at the moment. They all exeed my expectations. But you better get them before 3 or they'll all run out since they sell them in the display cases. Maybe they restock on them, i don't know, I can be wrong. They are also delivering too!!! Hooray to those lazy bums who don't want to leave the house!

The only reason this place is worth going to is their garlic knots & white pizza, it is delicious. Other than that, the service is the low point here. On over 5 occasions, I have called in an order for take-out, told it'd be ready in 15...arrive 30 minutes later (because I know it won't be ready in 15, no way in hell), and wait an additional 15 minutes. Two of the times this happened, I was the only person in the place. No seriously, I don't think the workers are there. If there is an order, they are paged or something and come in to cook it, that is the only thing that makes sense as to why it takes forever to get the food. Oh, and having them check on your order is an event in itself, as the servers are great at ignoring customers and being rude.

For my taste the best pizza in town. The garlic knots and Grandma's pizzas are great, though I recommend you as them to go light on the oil for both! Friendly, staff, but not much atmosphere for dine-in.

There's only one reason that I go here. The Philly Cheese Steak is a freak of nature. Very, very tasty. I have the appreciation of knowing that they will "pimp yo sammich" at anytime. My suggestion? Have the cheese-steak ,but request that they put their pizza sauce on it...HOT DAMN!!!

Horrible! I know it's easy after one bad experience to post a bad review! But we are on #5! Limited in Red Hook Ny to delivery service..... But I will tell you now DO NOT order from them for delivery! Each and every time things are forgotten! This was the last straw tonight when my food was delivered missing 4 items and the delivery man said "sorry your bill is 4196 I hand him 50.00 he asked do I want change????? Hello once again the salads were missing from our dinners and we had no side items like sour cream quacomole or salsa for our nachos..... Food was ice cold as it always is!!! And his reply is "I am new".... Because both my husband and I are both so desperate we tried and toyed with them!!!!! Save yourself the aggravation!!!! Horrible when you call to et them know they simple say our employees our new... Really it's been 9 years! Obviously you treat your employees like your customers!!!!!!
