This place used to be exceptional .. what happened? The first thing we noticed is that we didn't recognize a single person working last night from our previous visits. Not a good sign. The service was very sub-par compared to before. People were friendly, but not "warm". It was obvious that they were all new because they all had to escalate our simple questions about that offerings to someone else. Food took a while to arrive -- that's fine with me because I don't like to be rushed but other people might find that annoying. The pretzel and beer-cheese appetizer was REALLY good. But our dinners was just "meh". Fries were wayyy overdone, my "medium" burger was well-done, too. For the price of those burgers, I expect a perfect meal and great service. Just didn't deliver, this time. So The Village Inn is sadly no longer in our regular rotation.

It was really crowded on the Saturday night we went and there really isn't a large enough bar to wait at. You end up holding your drinks in the bar area, almost hanging over to poor people that got seated there for dinner. Other than that the food was good, especially their specials. I orderd off the traditional menu & my husband orderd off the specials- the specials were the way to go! All in all a very nice local spot.

Aw, this place is just darlin'. A restaurant inside an old house? Cuteness. And by the water? Adorbs! Due to the busy day at work, we called in an order for pick-up. Village Inn has a really large menu with a bunch of tasty items [wraps, salads, melts]. I stayed simple with a roast beef hero (with chips0. It was good and hit the spot of lunch. If were not for a fear of an afternoon food coma, I would have loved to try one of the 'fancier' items. Yum! The employee who gave us our order (maybe the owner?) was too friendly. He gave us a bunch of menus to take with us and we didn't have the heart to tell him we were from outta town. But if I'm ever back....I'll definitely stop in again!

Loved this little unassuming family restaurant on Grand Island! The place was jumpin' on a Friday evening, so we had a bit of a wait. But it was worth it! The restaurant is tucked inside of an old house and isn't anything spectacular as far as decor. But when you walk in and smell the amazing food, you don't care. We sat down after waiting about 20 minutes. There isn't much of a waiting area unless you can get a seat at the bar. We were sat near the kitchen, but it wasn't noisy or off-putting. I ordered the lemon/Tabasco clam chowder and I believe I had a spiritual experience upon tasting it. Amazing. Creamy, tangy, perfect. I also had the fish fry wish was crispy and hanging off my plate like any good fish fry should. It was flipping fantastic. The meal was ended by the three of us sharing two desserts. The banana cheesecake (YUM!) and this chocolate cake with icecream and fresh whipped cream in a mason jar. It was like a heaven on earth. Truly. It was hot, cold, creamy, delicious. I believe I thanked the baker profusely (she's a friend of the person I was dining with). I'd go back to this little spot again and again for some homey, delicious eats any day of the week and twice on Sunday. YUM!

I've ordered lunch takeout here twice now. The veggie wrap is very good. If your ordering to go, I suggest asking for the dressing on the side. This is a great lunch option if you find yourself on Grand Island. And Beaver Island State Park is right next door.

Situated on the Niagara River in a cute old house (expanded to provide lots of seating), this place has been packed every time I've been there--and I can see why. The place is charming, the menu has something for everyone, and everything is prepared well. For VEGETARIANS, there's a nice portobello salad with spinach and artichoke hearts. At lunch, they have a portobello sandwich a co-worker of mine RAVES about (and says they'll make for dinner, even though it's not listed on the menu). There's also a veggie wrap, some veggie pasta choices, and several vegetarian appetizers. Those dining with me tried the broiled salmon and said it was delicious. I've never tried them, but have also been advised by friends who are regulars that the house-made deserts are worth saving room for--and the ones we saw carried out certainly looked impressive!

There are times that you eat at a certain place and there is no way you can get that place out of your mind! That is what I enjoy about the Village Inn. I live in Ohio and wish I lived closer. Several years ago my family (fr a family reunion we were having in the area) ate here and loved it! Went back the next night to eat again. Well finally I am back in the area and making a trip to The Village Inn to eat once more! Can't wait!

This super chic little spot is right out of Leave It To Beaver! I was disappointed that it was closed on July 4th but stopped in today for lunch after a morning visit to Niagara Falls! What a gem!! Super pleasant waitstaff! I enjoyed my tuna salad, fresh & delicious without much mayo...a pet peeve! I tasted the wings & although my boyfriend likes them very much , I found them to be way to big & super saucy messy. Oh yea... He asked for them that way!! Ask for medium & what you get is HOT!! Veggie wrap served to our party was delicious as was the club sand which! I'll be back!

I absolutely love this place. It is a small cottage near the water with excellent comfort food. The fish fry is delicious as is the chicken & biscuits. The desserts are all outstanding. It is excellent food an a cottage type setting, the wait staff is very attentive, open all year and very affordable.

Pull up and your first thought might be like mine, "well I hope the foods good at least." Now, we all know looks can be deceiving and I was fooled once again. I mean, I do like the unassuming unpretentious appearance here. And They certainly let the food do the talking. Sit down, take a look at the menu and specials, youre bound to find something to suit your appetite. We had the stuffed peppers for an app, the chicken fajita wrap and the CMC chicken sandwich. Everything was terrific and well presented. One thing I noticed: I haaaate when restaurants serve thick pieces of chicken breasts for their sandwich. Not here. A nice pounded out piece of chicken, the way it should be. It's the little things that impress me, like that. Rumor had it that the desserts are a must have, so we obliged and had the Banana Foster Cream Pie...we were in heaven for the minute it lasted on the plate! Soooo good!!! We will definitely be back for more!! ** Please make a steak sandwich with the stuffed pepper on a garlic roll...drool.. **

Cozy place tucked away on the Island. Had some kind of jalapeno sweet potato bisque, and it was very tasty. For the main course, I enjoyed the chicken/blue cheese wrap. That was also delicious. Service was prompt and friendly, and I had my coffee refilled a gazillion times. Highly recommend if you're in the area.

Had a really good seared Ahi Tuna salad here today. Had oranges, onions and all sorts of good flavors. It was really good. I also had a taste of the Beer Cheddar soup and that was better than Blackthorns.

Are you kidding me? This place is amazing! The food, the beer, the people. It's so cute and quaint. Love that it look like someones home from the outside but it's a cool neighborhood type bar. I'm in love with their soups! The lemon Tabasco clam chowder is to die for! Everything else is great too. And, they have the best pub fries ever! The daily specials are an easy fix for someone like me (indecisive). Can't wait for my next visit to Grand Island just so I can visit The Village Inn for lunch.

Although I've eaten here several times before yesterday was the first time I've ever ordered take-out, this could prove to be dangerous in the future but it was a GREAT choice at the time. I ordered the fettuccine alfredo and it was very good - it could have maybe used a little more parm but that really just personal preference - and the portion size was huge I ended up getting two more meals out of it. Next time I'll get it with chicken because it completely slipped my mind when I was ordering in the phone but I was still very happy with it. My boyfriend got the bacon and bleu burger with jalapeños (I'm not sure it's even listed as a side option but they've got them) and a side of fries. It was delicious, the flavors were great and it was cooked perfectly. The only thing I was a little disappointed by was that we felt a little nickel and dimed - the bacon and bleu is listed as a burger option but we were still up charged for the bacon, the bleu cheese, the jalapeños and fries instead of chips which ended up adding about 50% of the cost to the original burger - not a big deal but something to be aware of when ordering. We'll definitely be back soon for sit down and take out.

Wow, saw the reviews and we were hungry and decided to stop by. The place was packed(Sat Night) but a group of 6 of us were seated quickly. Just don't park in the neighbors driveway. Everyone enjoyed their meal, I got the chicken wings and loved them, yes they are big and if you don't like the hot sauce get something else :-) Server did forget a drink but I walked out by the bar and they apologized and took the drink off the bill as well as giving it to us. Nice!
