$27 mistake, never again, we're done. we live practically next door to this place, and the convenience of a good nearby sub shop is certainly appreciated in our household. however, our experience tonight ensured it was our last...sorry, Mike's. we ordered two chicken finger subs and a small order of fries, and at $27, we expect some level of quality control in the food handed to us across the counter. both, including the hot chicken finger sub, were as bland and dry as shoe leather -- and the chicken fingers were just as tough. and the amount of shaved lettuce they heap onto a sub is just downright ludicrous. another one bite's the dust...guess the man and i are finally going to have to just get off our own butts and cook, because we're done throwing away money at least once a week at Mike's Subs.

I enjoyed my sub. I ordered a chicken finger sub(like most of you probably have). The chicken tenders were really good. They were of high quality meat and tasted great. However, the BBQ sauce was bad. It tasted like your generic fast food \store bought BBQ sauce. Call me a BBQ lover, so I have to get picky on sauces. I'm sorry but it needs to change. Had Duff's BBQ sauce the day before and felt like I was in heaven .. Will try it again but will try a cold sub. Taste: 7 Price: 6 Quality : 8 Bread: 8

This is the third time that I've ordered subs from Mike's and my delivery took over 1.5 hrs to arrive, but only after I've called to remind them about my delivery order. Usually I can brush that off but this time my subs look like they were sitting around for an hour. My chicken finger sub was ice cold and the other two steak subs were lukewarm. If you want a mediocre sub delivered by next Tuesday, this is the place to go. Disappointing. We're not saving lives here, just making a few subs. Get it together. Edited to three stars because they did give me credit for my order, and the subs were still edible.

My husband and I have been ordering from Mike's Subs for 15 years. Sadly since their remodel the quality of food has diminished. I ordered a ham sub with oil and light onion on Friday night, April 24, 2015. I wished I had taken a picture, it was basically a lettuce sub. Probably two cups of lettuce, 1/2 cup onion, 4 slices of thin ham and sub cheese and no oil. It was quite a disappointment. Although only $6.75, but the quality reflected the price. It's so sad to watch this institution going downhill.

I ordered through the GrubHub website, taking a chance with this place and the website at the same time. I was incredibly pleased with both the food and the service. They were having some issues with deliveries and they called to inform of the delay, something that has never happened before and I appreciated it greatly. As for the food, I was very pleased with everything about the Seafood Platter that I ordered, the portion sizes, taste, price, everything.

It doesn't get any better than Mike's Subs in Buffalo! They're so delicious and awesome. Chicken finger subs are where it's at. Their fries are so good. It's so much easier to dine in now that the renovations are done. I love the changes and the small little entryway to block the cold air. Great improvements. Buffalo classic - you can't go wrong. It's worth driving out of your way if necessary.

Mike's looms large in memory. These were always the most glorious of subs, with copious mayo dangling from shredded lettuce. That is really my favorite thing about this place - the lettuce really grabs that mayo. I guess that's all it takes to approach greatness. Typically, I would get a simple turkey sub, with plenty of mayo. Once I got something like "Neptune's Delight," which was mostly imitation crab, and it was very bad. Probably expensive, but I was a kid so what did I care? The last time I went, as an ostensible adult, I was less than thrilled, but definitely saw the value added over Subway. Mike's is better, Mike's is more expensive. That's free market economics for you. At least try it, when you've done something good and feel like you deserve more than the numbing mindlessness of daily routine, the kind where you look up from your desk one day and it's 2015. Wasn't it just 1997? How am I thirty years old? What happened here? Why... where was God in all this... what have I become... but then you look over at a sallow coworker and compliment his pants. You did a good thing. Go to Mikes; you deserve it.

I'm a fan! I will say that their pizza is not that great, but their subs are incredible. I absolutely love the fact that you can order online too! Most places haven't gotten there yet. Quick delivery, friendly staff, fresh food and a great quality. My roommates and I eat here quite often. It would he nice to see them get a few more vegetarian sub options on the menu.

Mikes can do no wrong in my eyes. Every time I order here and unwrap or open my meal my eyes enlarge like some underwater creature from mythical times! Today I ordered thee old stand by or as my friends joke "the mona Lisa " sub. Today I couldn't of been happier. So much sub so little time and for under 10 bucks you can't go wrong. Since coming to mikes I have learned how pythons eat in the wild and mastered how to unhinge my jaw just to consume the deliciousness that is a mikes sub!

I love Mike's Sub's. Have been a customer for over 10 years. Everything on the menu is good and the staff is always friendly. Definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a delicious sub for lunch or dinner.

A long standing Sub & pizza shop that keeps up with the times. An extensive menu selection, good reliable service and fresh ingredients. I haven't been disappointed yet. I especially like the fact that they shread their lettuce.

Hands down, the best subs, any day of the week! They have a lot of specials and coupons on their website so make sure you check those out as well! It's recently remodeled and you can also choose to eat inside. The delivery is right on time and the staff is always friendly! It's the only place to get subs in Kenmore!

Been here once. It was good! I don't know if I would rank it best subs in Buffalo... But I haven't really found that yet. They have a good selection and their subs are quite big. I would possibly return, but they don't have anything that draws me in.

Anyone in Kenmore knows this spot and knows that Bob is a neighborhood guy who loves to take care of his customer base. Comfortable atmosphere, great cheerful employees, outdoor seating and a wide variety of choices. If you're not feeling a sub, then have a taco or a chicken finger dinner. Also, on nice days, there's outdoor sidewalk seating available.

I've been eating Mike's subs for over 20 years, and try to stop there every time I am in Buffalo, but the last few times I have gone it's been disappointing. Today was possibly my last visit, with 2 out of 5 orders messed up and my sub so bad I threw most of it away. First, when I called to order I asked if the "egg and sausage" sub had scrambled eggs, and the girl responded yes, so I asked for them to be dry. However, the sub came with fried eggs, not scrambled. Additionally, the fried bologna sub didn't have the mozzarella on it that was stated on the menu. For myself, I ordered the chicken Mediterranean sub. It was absolutely soaking in overly acidic dressing, and the chicken was dry and rubbery to the point where I couldn't bite through it. Very sad to say these things about a neighborhood institution that I have loved for years, but after today I don't think I'll be back.

We really like this place, their subs are HUGE-huge-huge!!! I ESPECIALLY like the fish sub. But the thing to brag about is the hero which my husband orders all the time well one day he took one to work with him and once his co-workers saw what he had they were amazed at the size and now they order from there at least every other week which is impressive because they work on main & e.ferry in buffalo and mikes is allvthe way in Kenmore.

I have to say that when I ordered our pizza for pick up, the girl who took the order over the phone said 30 minutes. I get there at approximately 25-30 minutes. The girl at the counter checked for our pizza, came back and said that our pizza is going in the oven now. I had told her how the girl on the phone had told me 30 minutes it would be ready. Girl at the counter was very nice, apologetic. She offered me a drink, and gave me a large drink. When I asked how much the cookies were, she had said she would give them to me, and how many would I like. I said 3, for the 3 of us. I used to buy subs from there, but I have not been there in awhile, the last time I was there was probably before their renovations, a few years ago. They didn't even have pizza that long ago. Just want to say what a great experience!! We had never had their pizza before. When we tried it, it was pretty good, not greasy at all!! Thank you Mike's Subs for making our night!! I highly recommend them, great pizza/subs and customer service!!

My husband and I have been ordering from here since the night we moved to the neighborhood. The menu has a wide variety, so you'll likely find something to tempt you. Delivery is quick and has never messed up our order. I love the spices that they add to their hot sauce for their chicken fingers, it really gives it extra flavor. The subs are very filling and delicious. Their online ordering system is very convenient. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for delivery or takeout in the area.

Chicken Finger Subs. That's all you need to know. I've tried CFS from all over WNY and this is one of the best. Get it hot with extra sauce. And of course blue cheese.

My family and I have been ordering Mike's Subs for many, many years. We've seen the business through adding pizza to their menu, their great renovation, and their expanded seating area. All of these were upgrades and made Mike's Subs even better than it already was... and it's always been great! After all, they've been serving the residents of Kenmore for over 50 years. Whenever I order, I typically get one of two subs... Either the turkey club with bacon sub (turkey, bacon, cheese, lettuce, tomato, light oil, and mayo on white or wheat) or the chicken finger sub (mild, bleu cheese, tomato, lettuce on white). Both of these subs are delicious. Sometimes I order light lettuce because they do otherwise pile on the shredded lettuce. Regardless, I've never had a bad sub from Mike's. Always tasty with fresh ingredients. While Mike's Subs offers a variety of coupons and even staples a whole sheet of coupons to your sub bag, several coupons are not available on delivery orders. Additionally, even though the Village of Kenmore is one square mile, the delivery time is almost always "within the hour..." and yes, it often takes the whole hour. Keep that in mind if you're hangry. Choosing to pick up your sub will cut that wait time by at least half. Even though I reviewed my two favorite subs, I should note that Mike's Subs offers mozzarella sticks, pizza logs, beer battered mushrooms, etc. They have pizza, a vast array of different subs, salads, even fish frys... and they cater! Keep Mike's Subs in mind when you're in the mood for any of the above mentioned foods, this is a valuable great local business in the Village of Kenmore.

"Prices are subject to change" We have tried Mike's Subs a handful of times. The food is good but nothing to rave about. Just a standard sub and pizza place. The last two times we were disappointed. We used the online menu and had it delivered. The first time I ordered a salad. When it arrived with a number of items missing I called Mike's to let them know that they may have made a mistake. The woman who answered informed me that their online menu items were not accurate. She didn't apologize for the confusion or offer any reimbursement. Instead she simply made it seem like it was my issue and that she was busy. Being that, that was the first issue we had issues with Mikes we decided to order from them again. Again, we used the online menu and figure that by now their online menu would be up to date being that it has been a month since the incident. We ordered a turkey sub and chicken fingers. This time the prices were off and we were confused. We called again, this time talking to the manager. He also informed us that the online menu wasn't accurate. Furthermore he was less empathetic and more annoyed with us than anything. We simply just wanted to verify that the amount was not a mistake and to AGAIN inform them that their online menu is inaccurate and could cause issues for their patrons. However, the manager was snarky and gave a response of "it says right on our website, that prices are subject to change". Which we understand, but when prices on the website are not the same as what you pay and some items ingredients are different, we would think he would understand our concern. In conclusion we won't be back to Mike's. We can get this kind of food at a lot of other places. We understand human error, but we do not appreciate the attitude we experienced the two times we had called.

They used to be good. The quality control is, at this point, non existent. I live 5 minutes away and delivery time is always in excess of 45 minutes. Fries always arrive cold and old. Meatball subs are either burned with barely any sauce or drowning in enough sauce for 5 subs. The baked roast beef- which used to be my favorite- arrives barely luke warm and is a soggy, tasteless mess. The bun tastes like it was steamed too long, the sogginess is a mix of water and mayo. The roast beef is just a small step above Steak Umm. Arby's is better for roast beef. They might need some more mature employees with cooking experience. It is worse that as the quality goes down, the prices go up. **Edit 4/4/14**: I had the unique opportunity to talk to the owner, Bob, both on the phone and in person. I was able to go over what the problems were and show him. I Gave the restaurant another chance. I had the baked roast beef sub, the top of the roll was still soggy, he doesn't believe there is a way around that, yet other restaurants have found a way. The roast beef is great, but it is baked in a mini-oven for about 10 minutes and I don't think that is enough. The roll as a whole was a little more toasted this time, better on the bottom. Even though wrapped in tin foil and paper, the sub was very warm but not hot. One would associate baked with a hot sub, It was much improved though and didn't have a mountain of lettuce. I was able to taste that the roast beef is actually of a very good quality since it wasn't all soggy. The fries were crisp and hot and cooked on the inside. Perfect. I received a good sized cup of ketchup as well. I was extremely happy with the attention he gave my concerns and will remain a customer. **edit 4/1014*** I ordered from Mike's last night. I find that if the order is not done under the watchful eyes of the owner, it goes awry. I ordered for delivery, online. I put fries in my cart first. I went on to order a bacon cheesburger sub with extra olives and grilled mushrooms and oil/mayo. I tried for lite lettuce/onions/tomatoes and the online system wasn't very clear as to whether I would get lite or none. I would have been fine with either, but it was frustrating to figure out. In the comments I put 'extra toasted and extra ketchup". The delivery guy comes, I pay him. I should have looked in the bag first. No fries. So, I call the restaurant and an employee transfers me to who he says is 'the manager'- she sounded about 16. I point out there were no fries. In a VERY snippy tone of voice she states the fries were not on the computer system as ordered. I say fries were the first thing I put in the cart. She AGAIN, in the same tone of voice describes how they weren't in the online order they received. She wanted to argue about that, but I said 'can you just send them?' She says yes, and notes I will not have to pay delivery again since I already had (Really? What a bonus!-sarcasm) but I would have to pay for the fries. I have no problem paying for the fries, but would have liked them to arrive with the sub. They send the fries. It took only about 10 minutes, and they are hot, but my sub iisn't. The top and bottom of the roll is soggy. The 'grilled' mushrooms seemed to have been put on a plate under a lightbulb since they could never have touched a grill. 'Extra olives' turned into a 1/2 large can of chopped olives- a tremendous amount- that fell all over the place as I tried to eat the sub- which is what I try to avoid by asking for lite lettuce. Extra ketchup turned into 24- yes 24 packets of ketchup instead of the side cup that was sent in the previous order that the owner oversaw. Full Disclosure- The owner put a $20 credit on my account after the 1 star review. It may have skewed my rating of the order I didn't have to pay for and the fact that the owner had it done twice- the 4/4/14 review- I left out that the first time it arrived it wasn't done right and the owner personally brought a new order. So- we have an owner who tries and a staff that cannot function when he is not there. It is now 2 stars---and it is mainly because of the attitude I got on the phone.

Mike's used to be the best place to grab a chicken finger sub. Their tacos are also delish! My husband and I went here last night on a whim and I've never been so grossed out and disappointed. It smelled horrible when we walked in and the floors were a mess. We wanted to try out their pizza and get a side of fingers (their finger subs are amazing so if the pizza was bad we'd have something to fall back on). We would have been better off buying a frozen pizza from a grocery store. The pizza was DISGUSTING! And sadly so were the chicken fingers. We asked for them medium, and they gave us plain, frozen chicken tenders with a side of sauce. They were small and gummy/chewy. Just thinking about them again is making me want to gag. We won't be returning, not even for a sub.

I am not from Kenmore but work their and drive by Mikes on my way to work so when Groupon had a deal $16 for $30 (2 $15) I thought it was a great time to try it what a mistake! I got a lecture from a 40 something yr old women on how Groupon was bad for them and how I was supposed to buy more then 15$ worth of food mind you I only got about 12.50 out of 15 and that she would let me do it this time. the deal did not say I had to spend more and if that's what they wanted then they should have said that in the deal. Great way to treat new customers do you think I will ever step foot in Mikes again NO!!! the sub was good but Place thumbs down

This place always made the best subs, and when they added pizza to the menu, they outdid themselves! We've recently moved out of the area but whenever we're in town, this is one of the first places we go!

Mike is a great guy and his food is very good and filling. Even though they're known for their subs, which are excellent, I also really like their tacos! The prices are great and the workers are friendly. I always look forward to Mikes whenever I come home!

My friend & I dropped by to get a quick bite to eat. We both were thinking alike and ordered the steak and cheese subs. She ordered a side of fries, while I chose the onion rings. And then we waited. And waited. We already knew that we were fifth in line and had people ahead of us waiting, but we saw these people get there food and dig in. We, however, were still hovering around the counter, trying to peep over to see if any of the four people working had any part of our order in their hands. We gave it another five minutes. My friend finally spoke up and asked if our meal was almost ready. Almost. Don't get me wrong, the staff wasn't rude by any means, just slow. After a "I can't believe we are still waiting" look exchanged between my friend and I, one of the boys noticed and admitted that they forgot my side of onion rings, which they had going in the fryer at that point. He was very apologetic and offered both of us bottled drinks for our wait. Shortly after that, we received our food and sat down. The place had a few empty spots, but was busy, so we understand how the rings could of been overlooked. Food was tasty, but were on the colder side from waiting for my side. Was going to give it four stars for the food, but the service brought it down a notch.

I tried. I really, really tried. I thought I would give thisplace a chance to redeem themselves. What a waste of time and money. Placed an order for fingers (hot sauce on the side) and a wrap with no cheese. I was the only customer in the place and there were 4 employees. I figured the odds were pretty good they wouldn't screw up my order- AGAIN. WRONG. I got all the way home, and yes, yet again, they screwed up my order. Maybe they need to lower the music. Maybe they need to hire someone over 18 to supervise the children working there. Not sure, but I know I'm not alone when I say thet this place has gone WAY downhill.

My Granny is the pickiest of eaters and she Approved their wings! They made them exactly how she likes them and even was patience enough to deliver them for me to her nursing home as a surprise! Great service and quick delivery! This made her whole month if not year! We will be ordering again probably each week so she can get her fix!

Have grown up on Mikes Subs...they really are great...however I've noticed lately that I have had the person who takes my order and who I pay..leaves their latex gloves on while taking my money and many times goes right back to making food! YUCK! I've said something a few times and even stopped going for a while...I've worked in family owned restaurants and that is a BIG no no. Keep an eye out, otherwise great food.

Mike's has been making awesome subs for decades. They now have some stiff competition via ETS and JIm's, but this is my local (to my parents) home town sub shop that I have been eating at since I was a kid. GREAT garden burger sub and chicken finger sub! Their specific type of hot peppers make the sandwich. Not sure what they use or where they get them, but I love them. I always visit when I'm home.

Not a place to bring your girlfriend for a romantic dinner. But nevertheless there subs are excellent. Since they are just down the street from me I have gotten my subs and wings for more than five years now. And I haven't been disappointed once. A obvious sign for overqualified people working there.

All my friends laugh at me because EVERY single time I order a sub it is a ham sub. I love ham subs! Therefore, I have had a ham sub from just above ever sub or pizza place in Buffalo, and seriously, none of them even compared to a Mike's ham sub. mmmm I want one right now!

  • Mike W.

People in Buffalo just don't realize how lucky they are when it comes to subs.....I grew up there, but moved away 10 years ago. Mike's is our first stop when we are in town visiting family. You just cannot beat a costanzos sub roll, and the shredded lettuce, and the cheese Mike's uses is so creamy it is fantastic. Looking forward to wrapping my lips around a full ham sub when I am in town next week. I wish you could figure out a way to ship them down to NC.

I really liked this place. I was thinking of the neighborhood it is in and I thought of this palce. I'm not exactly sure if I had ever ordered there beforer, but I sure wish I had! This place was great. Fast delivery, fast service, and kind people. The prices are reasonable but the food is fantastic! I'll give it 5 stars because the sub I orderd was just PERFECT!

Mike's was one of my all-time favourite places when I lived in Buffalo. The service is always fast & friendly... and the food is to die for! The only downside is that Mike's is take-out or delivery only. No tables. After a little research, it appears that you can place your order online. Not sure how well it works, but the option's there.
