This small hole in the wall makes some of the better deli sandwiches in the city. They have good old style hot corned beef and pastrami sliced in front of you. Get it on rye with mustard. They have good fries too. You won't be disappointed.

Best deli in FIDI Great breakfast sandwiches and we were treated like royalty! The owner is amazing and welcomes the public like family. No wonder it is packed at meal times!

I ordered a total of approximately $9.00 off the menu for delivery. Did it on my credit card... And the charge ended up being $17.00!?! When I called them, they said because of delivery few to my office (one block away) and credit charge!? Never again.

I have eaten at the Jamaican section of this restaurant 4 times in the last month and each time there is a problem with my meal. Under cooked rice, salty curry chicken, under salted curry goat, missing salad. Since the management took over the food quality is terrible. They need a better chef.

Hidden in this drab looking deli is an amazing West Indian food counter. The jerk chicken and oxtail are the best in the city! Truly a hidden gem. It may be the only decent food in Wall street area.

So I stopped in here for a breakfast sandwich the other day as I was in the area. Egg whites on rye toast with turkey bacon, raw onions and raw tomatoes, a dash of hot sauce and black pepper. Nice. I also got a large coffee and a large water. Bill was rung up as $10 at the cash register. I noticed they had a sign "Minimum on credit card charge $7", so I decided to charge it. I noticed the credit card receipt said pre-tip amount $10 and tax amount 0.85 for a total of $10.85. The implication being if I paid cash, I would not have been charged tax. The NYS Attorney General and The IRS should investigate this business.

I have been wanting to come here for a while now, it's a block away from my place and it looked legit. My GF got a reuben with fresh corned beef...they were out of pastrami...Boo...I will give them credit for the fresh sliced meat but that s about it. The bread was barley toasted and there was no Russian or 1000 island dressing instead there was mustard? What kind of reuben is that? It was pretty small and over 10 bucks.

SCAM ALERT. I will be reporting them to the BBB. This is my 2nd time I went there. First time I thought she made a mistake and let her sly with overcharging by a few bucks. I went there today. The sandwich cost $7.95 on the menu and the chef wrote $7.95 on the sandwich. At the cashier its 9.95. I ask her why she added two dollars and she said "tax and tips". Never again will I go there. Both times, sandwich was decent.

My office is next door - i likely would never even look twice at this place otherwise... there's some good and some bad, probably more like a 3 star place, but when they are not really really busy - the people there are actually quite nice and considerate so for that they get the extra star bump. Also - the eggs and potato breakfast really is delish - nothing special but just consistently good! The prices are fine, not great - sodas and things feel pricey, but I think that's just the neighborhood. It gets frustrating here during the morning rush, but they do the best they can with the high demand. In response to the reviewer who got "sick" from this place ... I've had 10-15 meals from here and have never had so much as my stomach grumble (and I have a sensitive stomach)... but who knows. also - the carribean food counter in the back (technically a dif resturant) is awesome, only tried it upon the recomendation of my Jamaican coworkers - and it's really good!

I have only ever tried the Jamaican food from this place, so am reviewing that specific menu. I am super happy to have found this place. The Jerk chicken was delicious and tasted like the jerk I would find in Jamaica. The Oxtail, plantains and the rice and peas are equally delicious. I didn't have high hopes for finding good Jamaican food in the financial district, but this place has been a great surprise. Definitely recommend their Caribbean food

Not sure why I ate here again, but decided to grab an egg sandwich. Felt sick shortly thereafter, had a bad stomach bug for the 48 hours that followed. I would not recommend this deli (to anyone).

We have walked past Lane Cafe multiple times and noticed something special about this place. Not sure if it was fake salami's or actual sponge/cheese knock offs hanging from the window or the plates of cold food glad wrapped on display out the front but nevertheless we decided to give it a crack. The owner goes above and beyond the call of duty by greeting you with a big smile, cutting you off some corn beef to sample and making you feel as though you are in a friends house waiting to be served. We ordered two pastrami on rye's that were made fresh on toasted rye with swiss and sauerkraut. In addition you get a pickle and some coleslaw. I will give 5 stars for the sandwich and 4 stars for the pickle and slaw - however, they get an extra star for the two free cookies and the price of only 7.95. Will definitely be back!!

Ordered a burger, fries and a blondie for delivery yesterday. Was not a bad burger...it is not fresh meat that gets cooked, it is a frozen patty that they reheat (since they don't ask you how you want the burger cooked - you really have no choice). Fries were thick cut and perfectly fine and the blondie was just OK, a little bit too sweet. Not a bad meal and was a very good price for this area.

I've been going there almost every week, and I've got to tell you that they have one of the best-tasting sandwiches ever! I don't agree with Edward about the price being a little high (all food stores/restaurants/delis all charge similar prices). The employees there are very friendly and helpful. Lane Cafe has a wide variety of food selections (my favorites include the "Nick Special," which consists of grilled mix vegetables with charcoal chicken, roasted peppers on fresh Italian bread; and their selection of hot foods). They definitely have the BEST flank steak ever! You can't go wrong with that choice! The ONLY gripe I have of that place is the fact there is very little sitting space, especially around the 1-2pm crowd. But then again, that's expected since Lane Cafe has one of the best food selections out there in the Wall Street/Financial District!

Great place to pick up food on the way to work and get a good sandwich. Price is a little high. Located in the heart of Silicon Alley
