Whenever I was craving chinese food, this was my go to place. I tried ordering the lunch special on a Sunday (which I guess they don't have so I had to get the dinner combo) almost 11 bucks for pork fried rice, chicken with broccoli and an eggroll. Portion size was just ok. The food was disappointing. The chicken & broccoli was overpowered by soy sauce

Portions are just alright. To be honest, the last few times I ordered from here, the food was not that great. Chicken with broccoli was on the bland side, lo mein seemed old, the only good thing was the wontons in spicy peanut sauce. The sauce was delicious. Today I ordered the chicken and broccoli lunch special with brown rice and was so surprised at how good it was. Hoping to get good chinese like this consistently.

I come here often for lunch with coworkers. I'm giving it five stars because for a chinese take out place, its probably the best furnished and cleanest one I've ever been in. There's even a nice sitting area with a TV. The food comes out fast and fresh. I usually place the order on my two mile drive from my office to the restaurant and its usually ready as soon as I get there!

This has been my family's go-to Chinese place since we moved here. The quality is always top notch and prices are fair. My favorite dish is the sliced white meat chicken with brown sauce over white rice platter, which is basically chicken & broccoli without the broccoli. Always delicious.

If you live in the Syosset/Plainview area, you already know this is the best Chinese in town.

I have worked in Woodbury for over 8 years and have been looking for good chinese delivery place well ... I HAVE FOUND IT! First time i have really enjoyed chinese food at my office and have not gone into a food coma.

They've stepped up their game in here. On the last few trips here the food was noticeably better than other local spots. Steamed dumplings that don't make you feel like you're eating a thick ravioli and a light egg drop soup stuck out the most. The interior also looks new and fresh. Albeit, there is not a lot of decor, the side dining room is nice enough to sit down and enjoy your meal, without feeling cramped, if you have the time. Also, they have new blinds! No more newspapers over the window to block the sun! Woo hoo! Def my new local take-out spot, even though the parking sitch still stinks.

The general tsao is really bomb. Hefty amount of chicken. There is a great crunch and plenty of meat, not just batter. Lunch special is 5.95$ also

Open since 1986, Yim's Wok has long been an institution in the neighborhood...but not necessarily in a good way. When I was growing up, Yim's was where my Dad would go to pick up dinner if he was just too tired to drive to one of the better Chinese takeout places that we preferred. We didn't care much for their food, but sometimes, if all other options imploded and no one felt ambitious enough to suggest something else, we trusted them enough to buy a few eggrolls and a (greasy) pint of chicken with broccoli; it was that kind of place. It seemed like the place mainly stayed in business by catering to members of nearby Gold's Gym by offering a few dishes of steamed protein and plain white rice-- you know, stuff that's hard to screw up. But-- at the risk of dating myself-- that was a pretty long time ago. A few years ago, Yim's remodeled, and it seems like their standards for their food went up considerably at around the same time. When I was there a few days ago (after a many-year absence), it looked clean and new; the kind of take-out spot you actually wouldn't mind sitting down at for a while. My order of Beef Lo Mein and an egg roll, while not the best I've had, was still good, and definitely hit the spot. I'd definitely be willing to come back and try some of their other dishes. I don't know if it's new owners, a new philosophy, or what, but it seems like this place has really turned around in recent years. I can't give it more than three stars since my recent meal wasn't stellar-- just perfectly fine-- but I applaud whoever is responsible for making this faithful old spot on Robbins Lane worth patronizing again.

They take card, which is a plus. A lot of Chinese restaurants strictly take cash. I love the fact that they have a menu associated with Powerhouse right next door. If I am short on meal prep, I come here for steamed chicken, broccoli and rice! The service is quick and the prices are reasonable

TERRIBLE delivery service. The delivery man DEMANDED more tip when we handed him a dollar. When I called the restaurant, they blew me off. The delivery man also left in a rage, slamming my office door behind him. Yim's Wok for the win... not.

My husband, 3 year old, 1 year old and I went for a casual dinner here...thinking it was family friendly. Boy, was I wrong. My daughter ate some rice and some of it ended up dropping on the floor. The women at the front stared at us for 5 minutes while we ate and then walked over to us to yell at us for making a mess. She embarrassed us in front of the whole restaurant....very unprofessional! My husband ended up cleaning up the mess himself so there was no reason for her to make a fuss. Really bad customer service!

This place is been open for like 30 years I think... Used to be very popular, now they have their core clientele of many years and I think based on my impression from tonight's food but the only people that are happy in pleasing are those people, I don't go too often. I went in and I asked them if they had Mongolian beef, they said yes, they charged meover $14 and when I got home I realized that it wasn't Mongolian beef, I called them and expressed my concern, also saying that being that it was $14 that was actually pretty little beef in here... She was having none of it.

One of the best take-out; eat-in, Chinese restaurants I've been to. I've been Eating here for years and I love that they cater to the health-conscious athlete. They have steamed dishes of every imaginable combination ... Beef, chicken, egg whites, ect. And if you wanna eat the conventional high calorie Chinese dishes, they have those too.

Food is ok. However, when a customer was in there and they didn't like how they were ordering we caught the cook hack a nice one into the stir fryer. Not good to let customers see. They thought the curtain was closed but it wasn't. It also did not help considering I studied in Asia for years so I speak Japanese, Korean and Chinese.

Yim's is as close as you can get to a Syosset institution, almost everyone in town knows this place. I'm lucky enough to live within walking distance from this place but a lot of my friends who live closer to other Chinese places will skip over them to make the trek here. Their BBQ chicken skewers and boneless ribs are my favorite appetizers, both are covered with a deliciously sticky sauce that has to have crack in it or something. Entree-wise your best bet is to get a combo platter, each is served with great pork fried rice and a spring roll. If eating healthy is more your thing (it's certainly not mine) they have a separate "gym" menu of steamed meats or vegetables over brown rice, served with a side of oil-free, low sodium soy ginger sauce. Whether you're looking to pig out or get a healthy meal, you can't go wrong with Yim's!

Great portions and even better taste. One thing that set this apart from a regular Chinese place is that the good is super clean. Mostly in part cuz of all the people from the bodybuilding and fitness industry that eat here. You can even see some of the legends in a wall dedicated to them in the restaurant. I always go for the steamed chicken with brown rice ;)

Food is great, but their online menu is outdated with less portion of food and an increase on price. For example, I order the streamed dumplings online thinking I was getting 8 for $4.75 but instead I got 6 for $5.50.

Yim's Wok is a really a take out restaurant rather than a true dine-in restaurant, you order the food at their counter just like a takeout does, and they give you the option to sit down with a couple of free tables in the back. The food is mediocre but its not terrible, most of the item is made to order and its decent if you like takeout quality food. The menu is simple and limited at best to the popular takeout item and not much to talk about. Why do I bother coming here to eat at all you said? Well, because it is close to my workplace, and its lunch special price is slightly cheaper than the other Chinese takeout place nearby, that's why. A good point to note is their lunch special does not come with soup like other places does, you have to add $1 for a soup of your choice such as wonton, hot & sour, and egg drop... If you are in the are and just needs a cheap place to fill your belly and get on your way, then this is your place to stop by for a quick eat. Just don't expect much from the place and it should serve you right.

Such a clean place ! I loved the seating it's nice for a few groups of people so yes there is seating and I saw some renovation on the other end which will have more seating. The food was delish and plentiful and the person attending us was very polite. The strip it's on needs a makeover but the restaurant itself Is quirky in its own way. Out side on the awning it says healthy food.. That was a brain buster almost turned around lol kidding and then the shrine of body builder autographed photos I don't get inside but besides all that jabber we got fried rice and ribs (they gave so many fresh n not burned rib tips!) and chicken and broccoli with white rice. The egg roll was crispy and delish n my Wong. Ton soup will be a good dinner tonight :)

Great portion size and quality of food. I always get chicken chow mein and they do not disappoint. The restaurant has been around for years and is a classic.

This is your basic Chinese American restaurant. I would go here for beef/chicken and broccoli, lo mein, shrimp w/ lobster sauce, etc.. On Sat I ordered take out and I tried their beef chow fun. It was too sweet and saucy. Also had the chicken and broccoli which was good. Also had an egg roll which wasn't tasty at all. The 2 ladies at the counter were nice but on the phone taking orders and servicing the people coming in for p/u and ordering. They really need a 3rd person there. If you want authentic Chinese food similar to Manhattan's Chinatown and Queen's Flushing; you have to go to The Orient in Hicksville or The Fortune Wheel in Levittown. In addition, call your order in for pick up otherwise there's an hour to hour and half wait for delivery on the w/e.

Yim's is my go to take out place whenever I'm home in Syosset. I love their steamed dumplings and their pork lo-mein is the best thing they make. Also, General Gao's chicken is right up there too. Family run (like all those Chinese joints) so you know they've got the community/customer in mind (and they do!)

I go to Yim's wok often when I eat Chinese food. They have healthy choices on their menu as well as traditional take out. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area.

Not a whole lot to say as its Chinese take out but it is the best Chinese take in town for sure! I always come here when I want inexpensive, excellent quality take out and everything is cooked properly. My favs are the chicken and broccoli spicy w/brown rice, sesame chicken, chow fun and cold noodles. Their gym lite menu is really good as well. The place is really clean and they just remodeled so its really nice if you want to sit and eat.

Yim's Wok has been my family's go-to chinese restaurant for deliveries for almost ten years. The food is overall pretty good and even offers a "light menu" of low fat dishes such as steamed chicken and broccoli. My favorite chicken dishes from Yim's have always been their Chow-fun, Sesame Chicken, and General Tso's chicken (which is very spicy). Recently I split an order of crispy shrimp with walnuts which I would highly recommend. From the appetizers I love the scallion pancakes and their dumplings. The egg drop wonton soup is also great. One thing to be warned about: when ordering in on weekend nights, be prepared to wait up to an hour for your delivery. Yim's can be a frustrating place for some people, due to the long waiting and a staff that can be hard to deal with. As a pretty relaxed individual, the food is good enough to me to handle the problems that can arise from Yim's.

Good food, clean bathroom, but we took take out-they gave us no utensils or fortune cookies and that made me a little disappointed but the food was good.
