Harbor is awesome!!! Food, service, atmosphere were everything I was looking for in a Montauk restaurant!! I would go back many times over!.....Loved it!!

A hidden gem in Montauk. Had their smoked blue fish salad, side of seasonal veggies and my husband had their yellow fin tuna. We both loved the food and the atmosphere- which was not over crowded and had awesome music playing all night. Highly recommend it, we're looking forward to returning!

We had the most awful experience here on a Saturday night for dinner. The managers were rude, disorganized, incompetent, and disrespectful. They seated us at our table 1.5 hours after our reservation, without apology or explanation. They ran out of food and the food they did serve us was over-priced and below average. The evening was topped off by a visit from the fire marshals, since the place was over capacity. Our waitress was lovely and did her best to assist us and salvage the evening for us. A terrible experience.

Extremely disappointed by Friday night dinner experience at Harbor MTK. Unfortunately this restaurant and it's staff - from host, servers, and I'd assume management - epitomize the stereotype of the new Montauk scene. Made a reservation for 9PM, promptly sat at a beautiful picnic table with an amazing view of the Montauk Harbor - which is one of the only selling points. Evening was on the colder side, so host courteously sat us next to a heat lamp and all was good. Approx. 10 minutes later (after drinks and food were ordered), the same host returned to sit another table and rolled away the heat lamp for the "VIP Guests" - what an a**! I asked why, as did the table next to us, and he just shrugged his shoulders, smiled, and walked away. The mediocre food arrived, the mood was soured, and the crowds of other VIP guests rolled in and the whole scene turned into a Sloppy Tuna - on the Harbor. Not surprising at all - just a disappointing $100+ meal with the New Montauk. Understand that some restaurants serve as a foil for party scene, and this is certainly one of those.

4 girls looking for a hot spot on Saturday night when everything else had a line 60 deep. They put on a good show with go-go dancers on the bar. Good looking crowd for the most part and an alternate space/bar outside. Enough space to dance once it thinned out a little after 1pm. Down side 2 stalls for the entire place one line, it's redic. And the worst even though music selection was good at times the DJs were both horrible first a chic and then a blonde guy with long hair. They couldn't transition songs to save a life. And many times the entirecrowd stopped dancing and was looking around going wtf.

So much fun! The food, the service, the ambience.... everything was superb! We tried a number of dishes. All were fresh, tasty and overall great! The service was fantastic. Very attentive and so friendly. They genuinely wanted to make sure we were having a great time. And we stayed until late - dancing to great music and meeting new friends. Absolutely a must. Will definitely go back next time we are in Montauk.

Easily the most overpriced restaurant I've ever been to. Absolutely absurd. Poor service and very mediocre food, but somehow the bill is always close to double what you'd expect. Will not survive beyond 2016 without major, major changes.

I think the food was over priced for the quality. The waitress staff was great and I think the whole vibe is nice but maybe a bit overdone. "Fishing Marina-chic" probably just hasn't caught on yet. It was a cool spot to grab a drink though. We had to send food back because it was not to our liking. The chef said that was the way it should be prepared but offered to make us something different. I didn't think all the food was bad, just not worth the price tag.

I really really wanted to like this place. Great location and the first time I went, food was pretty decent and we had no problems with the line since we had a reservation. The second time we went, totally different story. We had a reservation for 7 girls for dinner, and had to wait for 10 mins in line outside (which I honestly wouldn't have cared about had the rest of our evening experience been better). We get in and get seated. Takes us about 20 mins to get the waitress to come to our table. We order two bottles of wine and asked for water. They brought the wine out and no water. 45 mins later we finally got water! Then we ordered all of our food. As soon as the apps came (another 20 mins later), we only had three plates and three sets of silverware (there were 7 of us). We actually had to ask for more played and silverware and had to wait another 10 mins to get it (we were starving so we ended up sharing plates and napkins and forks!!) fast forward to the food. Decent but overpriced. Finished our apps and although we ordered 2 entrees, the waitress started taking our plates away before we even Got the rest of our food! Only ordered two mains and the spaghettini was amazing, the veal sucked (legit was a huge piece of fried veal on the bone, yuck!) Bill came and gratuity was already included, unfortunately. Because, I would have left a much smaller tip had I had the option. We decided to get up and head inside to dance and use the bathroom , and they wouldn't let us back inside! There was a line of people waiting outside to get inside, and when we told the bouncer we wanted to use the bathroom, he pointed to the Porto potties in the parking lot. What the...? Anyway, save your time and eat somewhere else. Unless you want to wait 7 hours for dinner and be barricaded from leaving when you want to.

Not worth it. There are many better places to eat in Montauk. Overpriced and ordinary

I had visited Harbor many times last summer, when it first opened, including Memorial Day weekend, and let me tell you, they are in for a rude awakening this summer. I was excited to come back, as the dining experience I had last summer was so great, that it was actually worth the money. This summer, not so much. I was told that the management changed, and it absolutely showed. The decor is much less fun than it was last year. The menu is completely different. It is no longer a Raw Bar, and the tapas menu is gone. Now, we made a reservation online, and had no problems. We were a table of 2 coming in at 8:30. The hostess was nowhere to be found, and we were seated at our table without menus. I actually asked a staff member to bring us menus, and he told us that our waitress would bring them over to us. He pointed at a waitress across the room, who was helping a different table. She never came over and greeted us. After about 20 minutes a different staff member came by and gave us menus, and we quickly ordered drinks. 20 minutes later they still didn't come. We actually found the first waitress that was pointed to, and asked her where our drinks were. I also asked her if she was in fact our waitress to which she replied yes, and that was the last we saw of her. At 9PM Ja Rule started to perform on the back deck. Most of the restaurant cleared out to go watch him. Our appetizer was served to us with no plates. I asked the waiter at the table next to us if he could bring us appetizer plates to which he replied "you're going to have to wait one minute." Now granted he was opening a bottle of wine... but there was NOBODY at the table he was serving. Everyone at the table had gotten up and gone outside to watch Ja Rule. While we were sitting with food on our table and no plates to eat off. At which point I got out of my seat, found the woman who took us to our table and asked her to bring us plates, as we were served without any, and we were told we'd have to wait by the waiter who took our order. When the food came it was very good. However the food runner had no idea where any of the food was going. I saw her holding what looked like our dinner with a puzzled look on her face in the middle of the dining room and asked her if she had two steak dinners, and told her they were ours. Again, there are really only about 10 tables at this restaurant... So how this was so confusing is beyond me. We ate our dinner, and decided we wanted to leave as soon as possible. I asked 3 separate people for our check before someone brought it to us. If any of these people were assigned to be our waiter, it might have made the process easier, but we felt completely neglected, when we watched the tables all around us being served and waited on all night. When I told the hostess how horrible our service was, she blamed it on the computer system being down. I explained to her that being seated without menus, waiting 20 minutes for a waitress to greet us, and asking 3 people to bring us a check had nothing to do with a computer system being down. The service was just plain terrible. It really is sad, because the food was good, and the ambience was fine. But, the service was terrible, and the staff seemed unapologetic. As a montauk regular, I can tell you that we are not looking for a club scene where we can watch irrelevant rappers from the 90's rap over a recorded track. We want restaurants that are worth the money we are going to spend, because we ARE going to spend money.

I was really very torn between giving this place two stars and three stars. I decided my final test would be "Would I come back here?" I would...I would....but I'm not sure it would be my first choice. I think it's easier if I break it down into pros and cons which I never usually do, in all fairness, I am basing this solely off of the night life! Pros: - modern, chic, sexy design inside. Truly beautiful, the right blend of seaside Montauk meets the Hamptons. Whoever designed and decorated this place is AMAZING! - The idea of a raw bar and tapas restaurant is awesome. Really cannot wait to actually try to come for dinner and check the dinner menu out, have heard great things about the dinner, will definitely review after I try! - DJ's music is great, bartenders are AMAZINGLY friendly and so are the drinks, place draws a large crowd every time I've been here. Plenty of space to dance! - The indoor and outdoor designs are just truly awesome, there was a guy carving an actual surfboard in the front of the place one of the nights we went. So cool! Cons: - Only problem with "Montauk meets the Hamptons" is that Montauk is NOT the Hamptons in terms of a social level. I think people like myself who have been coming to MTK for years are really confused by the level of pretentious-nature and exclusivity given to some of the guests. This place attracts a VERY snobby and stuck up crowd that, I'm sorry, just do not belong in Montauk. I acknowledge that this might not be the fault of MGMT, but it's what I've seen each time I come. You can tell that this crowd ships in from Manhattan every weekend. Literally have had someone stomp on my foot and scream "get out of my way." THEN witnessed a drunk socialite DEMAND that the bouncer find someone to get her home OR ELSE and IT BETTER NOT BE ONE OF THOSE TYPICAL CABS....Give me a break. Anyone with a sense of humanity and humility wanted to throw up after hearing this. - This is a 21 and older establishment, right? As a teacher, I was disgusted to see the number of blatantly underage teenagers hanging out here on a Wednesday night. These kids were getting extremely drunk and I found two bags of weed and one bag of cocaine which I returned to the club's staff. I get it, I was 17 once too, it happens sometimes. Normally, I'm having too much fun to notice. But, it was obvious to anyone who WAS 21 and over that MANY of these kids were not of legal age and were acting like complete trash. Just a head's up, it gave off a very shady vibe. Overall, I did have fun and I'm SURE I will be back again, but maybe on a night that doesn't cater to teenagers. As much fun as I had, I am a little disgusted by the snobby culture that hangs out here. I like that this place has a Manhattan meets Montauk vibe, because I love both of those places! But the people it attracts...ugh. Where did they come from!?

Best new spot in Montauk. Floor service is great. Very attentive. Dinner is healthy as they feature on local produce. Never had a problem at the door. Always very nice and welcoming. Really captures the true Montauk vibe!

We are first time Hampton vacationers and this was our first dinner in Montauk on Sunday night. We were very disappointed.. We were one of 3 tables in the entire place and the service was horrendous. Our server was very friendly but was nowhere to be found for the majority of the evening. The food was mediocre at best and outrageously priced. My friend got the lobster roll which was served on a hamburger bun with 1 small chunk of lobster on it and a ton of mayo. I ordered the seared tuna which was okay, but had very little flavor. This place could be really cute because it's located right on the dock in the Harbor (hence the name), but it appears that there is an extreme lack of management. I would avoid this place at all costs. Our bill came to almost $500 for 6 people and we barely ordered drinks and the food was terrible.

Bravo on the redesign of this place. Truly did an amazing job in all decor and vaulted ceilings. The food is great and cocktails are delicious (not to mention below average than the rest of montauk). I have visited a few times on different nights and The Harbor is the best place for a nice dinner and then the perfect place to party afterwards. I went last Sunday to one of their parties and have not danced nor laughed as hard as I did with my friends in awhile. Thanks guys for making the summer fun continue in montauk I will definitely be back again next time

This place is the worst..... Went last month with a few girlfriends and had a great time so decided to come back. Got there at 10 thinking getting in wouldn't be a problem. We were a group of 3 girls and 4 guys. They tell us that guys can't get in with shorts and flip flops. UM do you know we are in Montauk!? Not to mention there were guys sitting outside who had already been in wearing shorts and flip flops. Their excuse was that those gentlemen had eaten dinner there. I was baffled. Then we were told if we wanted to come in, fine, but we had to buy a bottle. What a joke. If you don't want to let a group in because they are with too many guys then just say so and be consistent. I won't be coming back here for dinner or drinks--even if I am with all girls.

I was in Montauk this weekend for the second time this summer. This time we came with a larger crowd..mostly girls. We had gone to Harbor earlier in the summer for drinks and thought it had a cool vibe so we figured we'd bring the rest of the crew there. We tried to get dinner reservations but they were fully booked so we decided to go for drinks. We were 4 well dressed girls with two guys also dressed. Being that we're from Manhattan and we frequently hit hi end trendy clubs in meat packing we are well aware of dress code policies. We waited on the line for about ten minutes and were asked how many were in our group. The guy at the door made it clear that he would have to be " taken care of" if we wanted to get in...Really???? We don't ever leave a place without spending big on drinks so I led the pack right off the line and out of there. If you need money just charge a cover...although truth be told! I have NEVER had to cough up a cover! Very disappointing especially since I talked up this place so much to my buddies and the experience completely turned them off. Make sure you're prepared to bribe the guy at the door if you want to get in...especially if you have guys with you!

Waste of time. Horrible poser doorman. As a resident of NYC for 15 years, I've had my share of experiences with club doormen and bouncers. The smart ones explain the rules and say they'll do what they can and make an earnest effort to get you in. I get it. Management sets the parameters on admittance. They have a job to do. The dumb ones act like total D-bags and give out attitude and lack the discretion to actually maximize the amount of revenue for the owners. That was our experience on Saturday, July 12. Two of us showed up with one woman and we were told that they needed to keep the male to female ratio balanced, which I get. No problem. But the attitude from the sleeved up poser doorman was so intense it totally turned the vibe from I want to see this new place to no thanks. They let our female friend in to meet her other friends inside. She promptly reported that a) the place was half empty at 11pm on a Saturday and b) there weren't even enough guys to make it an interesting place for women. She promptly left and took her 5 female friends with her. Good work, Sleeves. If I were management, I'd at least try to give the jokers at the door an education in treating all potential patrons with a bit of chill decency and to use better judgment when your venue clearly could be making more money.

This may have been the best dinning experience I've had in the Hamptons. Everything exceeded our expectations. Shakira our waitress and the various servers were amazing. We had the oysters , burrata, drunken lobster and tacos . All excellently executed. we also stayed for the dj. Great crowd and dancing .
