My all time favorite place now. Food is great. Lovingly and quickly prepared to order. Breakfast time is a busy time. For the reasons above. If you like that old school feel of friendly, they will remember your face and order type place then this is your place. On the smaller end of sitting area than most but don't worry it won't take too long for getting seated. Have not come for lunch but I'm sure it's the same all around. Always tip heavy it's really deserved. Prices are great so you have room to seriously.

I hate giving a bad review, but....... I saw that this place had great reviews so tried it out on a Sunday morning. Coffee was horrible - plenty of refills were offered but I couldn't even finish the first cup. Waffle was okay. Bacon was all fat no meat. Bf ordered corn beef has well done.........not well done at all. Place was filled with flies too. Never again

How did I not know this little gem of a coffee shop existed before now?! I'm always at the Post Office or Rite Aid, but somehow I never noticed this place smack in the middle of a strip mall. I discovered it through fellow Yelpers and I'm so glad I did! I've been here twice in the last 2 weeks, and both times it's been such a pleasure to dine here. The wait staff is super friendly, your coffee cup will never be less than half full, and I love their French toast. Both times I went with my mom and a friend. My mom has MS and uses a wheelchair when we go out. Both times the staff held the door open for us which is GREATLY appreciated and almost NEVER done. Just a side note, people are more prone to hold a door for a mother and her small 10 pound human in a stroller, but almost never for a person pushing a full-grown human in a 40 pound wheelchair. So when someone takes the time to do it I am very appreciative. The food is good, staff is super friendly and accommodating, and I look forward to going back soon to try more menu items!

The soups are extremely salty and within my first 5 minutes of being there, I saw more stares than it would take to reach the top of the Empire State Building LOL. I was dressed normally so I guess it had to do with my ethnicity. This was from the staff as well as other patrons. Then the so called beef barley soup had no beef but lots of salt. I guess to them salt equals beef flavor.normally I like speedy service. However in this case I couldn't tell who was supposed to help me since the responsibility of serving me was shared erratically by all 3 waitresses. Then the counter person /cashier/waitress came over and asked if I was done in a manner which felt like "hurry up, we need this seat." I hadn't been there a half hour yet. I'm not thinking I will go this establishment again.

Keeping to the diner theme... This place is authentic. The atmosphere is like home at the diner. Food is good and the pie, FANTASTIC! Great staple for those who are looking.

This truly is the best hidden gem in PJ. Everyone who works there is so kind and they truly makes each time that you eat there feel so homey and relaxed. It's a quaint little spot that we go for breakfast every weekend and for dinner when we aren't cooking. My boyfriend and I are greeted every weekend by the staff who now know us by name and our order. There is usually a line to sit on the weekends but fear not because it never takes too long. We order eggs bacon home fries & toast - you know the breakfast staples and they never disappoint. For dinner I have to say that they make the best chicken franchese that i have ever had & don't even get me started on how amazing the cream of turkey soup is (but get it while you can they only have it on Sunday's) everything is fresh, always & the establishment is clean. It's a hometown diner & The prices are incredible. It's become a tradition to go every weekend & I can't say enough great things about this place A++++++

I saw a delicious photo of a waffle here on yelp, the glowing reviews, and the close proximity of this diner to where I live, so I thought, why not give it a shot? After all, isn't a diner a place where everyone can order what they like? The parking lot was a bit seedy, but I've been to great places in not-so-great locales, so this didn't tarnish my initial impression. The fact the menu had clip-art from 15-20 years ago, the decor was teal &pink formica bespeckled with mirrors, the floors were dirty (we did go at the end of the night, however), the faux flowers on the tables look like they needed to be washed or replaced, and my husband warned me that the lobby outside the doors to the restroom smelled of urine made the initial bad impression. There's still the food and service, right? Well, I asked about waffles because although i've read about their waffles on the reviews here and have seen the photo, there were no waffles on the menu. The waitress informed me that you could get waffles for breakfast...but not now. Ok, really? It is a diner. Isn't that the whole point? While finding this odd, I ordered the pancake deluxe breakfast for dinner. The pancakes were good, but everything else on the plate was lackluster. The sausages were edible, but the bacon was flavorless and the ham was not tasty either, so those items were left behind. The eggs lacked flavor. My husband ordered a friend clam platter. He said the clams tasted like they've been in the freezer too long, and he did not eat most of them. They were rubbery. He ordered glazed carrots which tasted fruity, and the salad even tasted off, he reported, He did say the fries were good. i shared my meal with him. The service was decent and friendly, although at the end of the night the waitstaff was preoccupied with getting ready to close up. We had to ask for drink refills. Not a big deal, but with outstanding service, you wouldn't have to ask. I wanted to like this place because it is so close. However, the only thing saving this review is the decent service and a pancake.

I give this place a 5 star rating. Food is amazing. Waitresses are great. It's like a small version of a diner, but you get 100% better quality food and service. I highly recommend this place for a relaxing bite to eat. It's very family orientated.

My favorite pancakes in the area and my fathers favorite local coffee. Its like a small 80s upstate diner in there and I love it. It gets crowded with locals but the food is good and hot. They take cards but its very small inside. You can tell the cooks enjoy making good food. Everything is made well.

One of my favorite diners on L.I. Never a bad meal, the gyros are excellent as are the sandwiches. Good coffee and friendly waitresses make The Station a must do. Oh, and the prices are reasonable!

I'll start off by stating what I really enjoy about the Station Coffee Shop. The staff are all attentive and very friendly. The place has a quaint, old school, diner/coffee shop feel from the 50's or 60's. The food is very good and somehow you never wait too long, no matter how busy or crowded they are. I usually don't deviate from the breakfast foods they serve. It's always well prepared, portion sizes are more than adequate and the food is all freshly made to order. What I don't like is the inflexibility to make menu substitutions. It's been my experience that anything you might want instead of something included with what you order will be tacked on a la carte. Example: order a breakfast special platter with two eggs, bacon and rye toast. I say I don't want the home fries, but can I get a small coffee instead...no can do. They will prepare it without home fries and charge you for the coffee. Just a little pet peeve of mine, as 8 oz of home fries costs significantly more than an 8 oz coffee. Other than that, this place is consistent and worth visiting.

Love this place and the kids love the breakfast makes for a good Sunday family time. The corn beef and hash is great my all time favorite. The staff are wonderful and have seen the family grow from 2 to 4 we see them get older!

i have known of this place, and been a patron as well, for almost 15 yrs. It is small and the menu is basic diner fare, but that is what this place is all about. They are a mom & pop shop and the food is good & cheap. Breakfast is probably what it is best for, however, the lunch/dinner options are pretty great as well. Try the meatloaf! They do no have late hours, closing at 8pm M-Sat. and 3pm on Sundays. During weekends prepare to wait on a line, however, it moves pretty quickly. Come here more than twice and they will remember your order! :)

I love this little "coffee shop" hidden next to Bravo Foods. You can always count on a big delicious omelet here with quick refills on your coffee. The wait staff is friendly and efficient. The decor always makes me giggle....80's mirrors on the walls still. You can always count on a good tasty meal here!

I should preface this review by saying I have an incredible soft spot for good diners. It's very easy to wow me if you're an above average diner. That being said, this place is very far above average. Located in a busy Port Jefferson parking lot, there's a reason this diner has withstood the test of time. I've never had a problem with the food here. The prices are incredibly fair and the amounts leave even the hungriest me with some leftovers. The service end shines just as much. One of my (I'll admit it, silly) prerequisites for a good diner is a coffee cup that seems to never be fully empty due to quick refills. This place has that down pat. I never have to ask for a refill. Staff is also very helpful recommending something and accommodating your needs. If I had to say one bad thing about this place, is that it's a bit on the small side. You will, on a busy day, have to wait to be sat, but they will do what they can to keep the tables moving at a brisk but not rushed pace. I have no problem recommending this place to someone. It's a great place to grab a breakfast.

This may sound awful, but tonight I ordered liver and onions cooked medium and it was perfect. Attentive staff, and good food at fair prices make this Mom and Pop shop a good place to stop for a meal that satisfies. The decor is a bit dated, though not at all shabby. The place is clean the food is really good.

If you wake up hungover and hungry in Port Jefferson, the Station Coffee Shop is probably the first place you should go. Its one of those places that I always see, but then forget about a few minutes later. The other day we were in the area and too lazy to cook for ourselves so we decided to stop by. The best way to describe the food is its the kind of greasy, tastes good when you're eating it, puts you in a food coma afterwards type of diner food. My french toast didn't come with sausage, bacon, or ham.. it came with sausage, bacon, AND ham! Even though I definitely left satiated, and the food was good, I wouldn't say its anything super special, so I would have given it 3.5 stars if I could have, but since its a cheap place to eat in Port Jeff without it being Asian food, and since I'm in a good mood, I gave it 4. Plus I'm sure I'll go back at some time in the future.

The Station Coffee Shop is an excellent establishment. My grandpa has gone there for over 30+ years, and introduced this place to me when I was a young girl (I'm now 29). I go there for breakfast or lunch with my grandpa every Sunday. You can't beat the prices, especially considering the amount of food you're given. The staff is very friendly and always going above and beyond. The food is what you'd expect for a coffee shop/diner. But there is more of a home-cooking style to it. My favorites are the ham , egg, and cheese on a croissant for breakfast, and the gyro platter for lunch or dinner. The coffee they serve is also some of the best I've had,and this is coming from a Starbucks addict lol You wont be disappointed if you come here.
