Always very busy location, but staffs are all nice here. One of my favorite locations in NYC.

Was really dirty... Really slow with rude partners... Forgotten orders!

Worst customer service ever, like rude staff that gives attitude. This place needs to step up its game.

I frequently visit Starbucks locations all over the city. This one is far from my favorite. I come here if I am too lazy to walk to either one on Broadway a few blocks away. The cashiers here are not consistently kind or inviting, however, the baristas mostly seem friendly enough. I have no complaints about the drinks, they make them just fine. The bathrooms are about the grossest thing I've ever experienced in a Starbucks. It smells as if I've walked onto the J train Chambers St platform after a pee party. At least it's conveniently located and the wifi's good (and free as always).

One start is one to many stars to give this Starbucks. Avoid at all cost!!! I give this Starbucks an award for worst customer service of the millennium. Was accused of leaving the store and coming back asking for a refill when I was in the store the entire time. 10-15 minutes... 20 minutes tops! When asked to speak to a manger I was told I was speaking to the manager. Thanks to the wonder customer service at this location I think I am throwing the towel at this corporation. I have been a Starbucks card member 10+... Probably 15+ years. Never have I fault so disgusted as a customer in my life. This store should be shut down due to incompetence.

This location can be packed since it's one of the biggest Starbucks in the SoHo area. The staff provides great service. If you're looking for outlets, do look for seats lined up against the walls or the two wooden communal chair seating areas (close to the cash registers). If you find yourself sitting at the communal table in the back of the store, the outlets on the ground (under that table) don't work as you won't be able to plug your chargers in fully. An updated for using outlets on the wall: - Your charger may fall out, so look for a stool and use it to position your charger so it stays to charge.

As mentioned in many reviews, the costumer service is pitiful. First I waited in a moderately long line (not really their fault, I mean it's in Soho) and when I reached the registers the employees looked confused as to who they were serving. I even stood directly in front of the register and the employee still said quite loudly, right in front of me, "following guest". But don't worry it gets better. I order two oatmeal cookies for my mom, who specifically asked me to go out and buy them and I bought a green tea latte for myself. They charge me, I pay, whatever. Shortly after an employee starts shouting my name so I go fetch the cookies. He hands me two chocolate chip. Obviously I point it out, saying I ordered oatmeal. He looks at me blankly and says "well we don't have any so I just got chocolate chip". What the hell? You couldn't have told me that at the register before I paid? I then reject taking it, insisting that "I'm buying them for a friend" (my mom) and that she wouldn't eat the chocolate chip. He then had the audacity to say the dumbest thing. "Just take her to her and she can try it. If she doesn't like it, bring it back." Wow he must be joking. As if I'm going to go home and then come back and tell him "ya she hated it." What a joke. Not to mention my green tea latte was basically milk with green powder stuck to the bottom. Yum!

Huge Starbucks with a lot of seating!! There are always so many people working so they make your orders super fast.

I come to this Starbucks pretty much all the time as its so close to me. Usually, the service here is fantastic! Especially if you have the pleasure of being attended to by Sebastian or Diego. They literally make my day. Those guys rock!!! However, today was so different. I've had this guy Ahmed serve me before and he just acts as though he's better then everyone. He never smiles and if you want more then one drink it's an effort to say the least. His attitude is appalling and definitely not someone I would have representing a brand! There are plenty of people who need work who would do a far better job then Ahmed. I think perhaps he needs to be somewhere where he doesn't deal with people. Starbucks get it together!!!

All containers for milk & half & half always empty. Store filthy. Employees stand around gossiping making rude remarks about customers. Get a grip.

    (1)
  • Colton B.

Typical Manhattan Starbucks. Crowded, and the employees honestly couldn't care less. Use your words, barista! Is that too much to ask?

    (2)
  • Taungporn C.

Staffs are very rude and always gossip about their customers. I am a big fan of Starbucks Coffee and I can say that this is the worst Starbucks Coffee in the world! Moreover, when I complained them about the taste of coffee that I ordered. They looked at me like I am an ediot! What a bad manner? Are they really had been trained? Starbucks Inc. should retrain them all as soon as possible before these staffs ruin your long time pride!!!

There are a few places that make my blood boil however congratulations to Starbucks on spring street... You managed it! On a positive note you are consistent. The service is consistently slow and dispite a plethora of staff you still manage to be disorganized The "team" are hateful, they ALL seem so un happy The coffee - this is where you lack consistency... more often than not it tastes poor and on the occasion where I have had to struggle back to the crowded counter to ask for my coffee to be changed I have received a "death stare"... I wonder if doing a death stare is part of the recruitment strategy, along with looking very unhappy and having no desire to work with the public in a fast paced environment?. Go to WBW Starbucks if you need your fix.

  • Ari B.

Pretty big location, with tons of seating; I was glad I didn't have to stand around waiting for a place to sit. The baristas were very friendly, and had my order ready pretty quickly considering the number of people on line.

I stopped by this Starbucks after shopping at Sur La Table (conveinently across from Starbucks) I'm so used to going to the Starbucks by my office/school and usually that Starbucks is slow, but this Starbucks - the service is much faster and this Starbucks is actually a little more spacious then the other Starbucks along Broadway. Staff is friendly. The ambiance is similar to most Starbucks, but the decor is slightly different because it's a little more hip.

    (3)
  • Paola B.

Convinently off the spring street stop. However the staff is too busy talking to each other then paying attention to their customers. I was in a rush and ordered an iced tea. Pretty easy to make. However I waited while two other people who ordered frapps after me got their drinks before me. When I complained to the guys making the drinks they didn't care and said they wanted to make the frapps first. Completely ridiculous.

This is by far one of the busiest and hippest Starbucks in New York City. If you want a quick cup of coffee, I would recommend going to a more local shop in Soho, because you are going to wait at least 5 minutes, or longer during peak hours. Be prepared to see lots of aspiring models and their male fan-counterparts. The bathroom line is always long aka you will have to wait about 5-8 minutes, regardless of the fact you were a paying customer. And their Wifi is very very very very splotchy. But it is the perfect spot to people watch and soak in NYC at its greatest.

  • Katherine M.

As soon as wall in they have the heat on blast behind the curtain so the place is always nice and cozy. Service is really quick . Ordered chai tea, and itwas pleasant. Only con is bathroom lines are forever.

  • Brian M.

This Starbucks deserves a mention because it's one of the largest and the most spacious Starbucks I've seen in New York. I hate rating chains but I'll give you the reason why it deserves 4 stars: -Two Unisex restrooms (I give two stars for this as many Starbucks in the city usually has only one restroom and the wait can be crazy when you need to go!!) -Plenty of Electrical outlets on the walls. I was surprised as I've seen other Starbucks throughout the city block the electrical outlets and plenty of seating areas of chairs, small tables, sofas, large communal tables, seating area near the windows, etc (+1 star) -Pretty friendly Staff, Fast Service, and consistent Coffee (+1 star)

  • Judy W.

Love this place! One of the more spacious Starbucks in the city, as you'll see many people come here to study and work. It will get crowded during rush hours (what coffee shop doesn't?), so expect a wait. Great place if you're just looking to chill or spend time alone.

  • Barbara N.

So disappointed with this place. My friend ordered a hazelnut frapp and when she received it, it was bitter and watery. We went back to the barista and asked if he can remake it. Not only did he not remake it, but he gave us so much attitude. Starbucks has a policy where if you don't like the drink, they would happily remake it. So I don't understand why he gave us the attitude. Avoid this starbucks. Walk down a few blocks to the other one and it'll be a better experience.

    (1)
  • Khadisha A.

Fast service, although some customers waited 15 minutes for their order I was impressed my order was 2 minutes quick! Found seats quickly after I've received my drink, busy place but comforting.

    (4)
  • Chef D.

OK, first about why I love this place. It is walking distance from home and work. You can find a place to sit most of the time. The interior is very well designed. I believe it was 5 years ago when they fully renovated the place. The coffee; you know it is Starbucks coffee. Not the best coffee but consistently good. The staff is fine. Just a little warning though: Because of the unsuspecting tourist crowd and the wealthy clients, this is one of the top places that gadgets are stolen. Keep an eye on your iPhone, laptop or any gadgets you may have.

    (4)
  • Ndeipala H.

Got a coffee and believe I gave the tall light skin (maybe Hispanic) cashier a $20 so when I got change back that was less then a dollar. I asked if he could check I didn't give him a $20 to which he rudely retorted no you didnt. And walked away. He didn't even bother to check or wait for me to see if it was a mistake on my part. It was very very rude and that being said I felt the need to come on here and write my first ever review on yelp. That's not how you treat people, at all.

    (1)
  • Judy C.

This location gets really busy but the baristas are friendly and quick with your orders.

    (5)
  • Christine F.

I have sort of a pet peeve here because I think some of the baristas (maybe the new ones) are being a little lazy on making the holiday drinks. I've ordered a caramel brulee latte - which only comes during the holiday season, 4 times and 3 of the 4 times, they passed it off as a CBL, but it was just a lattee (no caramel, no whip, no sprinkles). Paying the upcharge for the holiday drink without the holiday in it sucks.

  • Scott B.

I saw lots of mediocre reviews for this Starbucks location, but it's one of my favorite ones. Why? Well mostly because of its size--this place is huge and roomy, which is great for me since I work for myself. And, it's located near my favorite gym, so I can always just carry my laptop with me when I go work out, head into Starbucks afterward, spread out and do some work. Sure, this Starbucks is vey busy b/c of its location, but that doesn't bother me... that just mean there's great people watching! As for the aesthetics of this location, it's nice inside--a nostalgic, rustic look. And, their baristas are super friendly!

    (4)
  • Suanne L.

Long lines of tourists and hipsters alike make the wait time at this location akin to trying to get into a mediocre sample sale. The cashiers move faster than the woefully understaffed baristas so the back end is a hoarde of thirsty haters. I actually saw a tourist give the poor barista a tongue lashing. Seating, while plentiful, is largely occupied by tired shoppers who have no intention of moving their bags from seats or leaving in less than an hour. Its crowded. If you have to get your fix, the drinks are fine. But its definitely not one of the more peaceful locations.

  • Clementine C.

Skip this place if you are in a hurry - here's why: RANT commences, now: SLOW EMPLOYEES: OK. If you are a chain, you BETTER make sure you hire people who are efficient, because there are standards to be held to! My experience was 10 minutes. It took 2 to order (7:10am) and 8, yes, 8, to get a drink when only two were in front of me. Really? I would call out two employees in particular, but I'm not trying to get people fired. This one guy was EXCELLENT and he tried to carry the team, but these two employees were crawling along. DRINKS: My drink was supposed to have whipped cream. It did not. Do you know how sad of a discovery that is? UM, WHAT?: Any place that allows homeless people to sleep indoors, taking up a whole 4-persion table, is not getting my business anymore. PROS: This is a big spot and has a lot of food to offer. There is free WiFi and many tables. There are many goods on sale, too. You'll get the drink you're looking for, and everything is very fresh. Overall: Go to a different spot in the neighborhood!

  • Jack F.

Probably the most spacious (and coziest) Starbucks I have ever been in. I was here around 5:30 PM, so not really a peak hour. Nevertheless, I was pleasantly surprised by how fast it was. By the time I walked over to the counter, a barista was already preparing my drink. Also, shoutout to the super friendly guy working the register--keep it up dude! :-)

    (5)
  • Ysabel K.

Terrible service. Cashier line moves way too fast for the product output in this store. And, I got through 10 orders and my friend is still waiting for the next available restroom. Blows.

    (1)
  • Kristen Q.

Free wi-fi and always packed since it's in the heart of SoHo. Instead of paying to use a premium next door at Fed-Ex Kinkos, just go here and get free Wi-Fi:)

    (3)
  • Rahul S.

I love this Starbucks because they always have a huge variety of whole bean coffees for sale including their reserve coffees which are insane! Nice atmosphere to enjoy a cup of coffee in busy soho. Can be quite busy but usually you can find a seat if you need to.

    (4)
  • Teresa L.

This is a tourist death trap .... as in ... you will get trapped by all the tourists who flock here for their coffee fix. Why would you come to NY just to visit a chain store? It confounds me! But, if they're a gold card member like me, then I understand that it's imperative to rack up the drinks points wherever you go =) I usually stop by to get a quick caffeine boost before I continue my shopping in SOHO. Because this Starbucks is in such a touristy location and because it's relatively HUGE, it gets loud and crowded. There's a lot of seating room, and the back area has outlets and tables for laptop users. There's always a line for the bathroom, so if I were you, I'd find another store to take care of THAT business.

    (3)
  • Michelle W.

Why is this place so slow? They rush you to take your order and even get a little nasty if you don't step up fast enough, but seriously? Where is my drink? Random side note, I have never seen a bathroom line so long...it stretched to the entrance of the store, to the point where it was hard to tell which was the bathroom line and which was the real line.

    (2)
  • Rita L.

This location has long lines...and a long wait....I would avoid it if you can. Even when its not rush hours, its a long wait. There are slow employees...c'mon Starbucks, you need to hire baristas that are quicker since its near SOHO.....!!!!

    (3)
  • Tina C.

Hustle and bustle are the words to best describe this location. Large ample seating and space. The line is always continuously filled with traffic regardless the time of day as I was in the area visiting another branch of my company to say hello to my fellow associates whom several I've missed working with as others I put the name with the face. The service is friendly and somewhat efficient unlike other typical Starbucks, which are dreadfully inefficient with long wait and snail service.

    (4)
  • Jiovant S.

I know this is stupid. But my coffee sucked. I asked for a plain hazelnut coffee and they still got it wrong the 2nd time. Bad morning -_-

    (2)
  • Jayson E.

Don't come here if you need to study or work. They've removed all the chairs except for two at a counter by the window, and they keep the music cranked to nightclub levels to get people out as quickly as possible. Terrible attitudes from the servers, no bathroom. Might as well be McDonalds.

    (1)
  • Ro L.

Maybe it's just that I don't know how to "do" Starbucks, but any place that requires some type of secret code to order a damn drink is not a place I want to be in. I'll never get used to you, Starbucks. However, my other Starbucks experiences weren't as bad as this one. I ordered a white hot chocolate because I missed the Dunkin' version so much. I happily walked up to my office with my steaming cup of white hot chocolate, took a sip, and took another sip just to make sure I wasn't going crazy. The milk they used was bad. Like, three days after expiration date bad. I don't even have anything witty to say. This just made me upset all over again.

  • Sandy M.

This place would be a winner for getting ppl thru the line BUT fail fail fail every time i come in the milks are EMPTY!! every time!! counter dirty and no milk's! and worse i have to carry them over and get someones attention to refill and they act annoyed! Really after my 6 $ coffee! Fail!

  • Alyssa A.

Oh GAWD. I love this location so much. Been in here so many times, so I decided to write a review for this one. I run to this Starbucks during my class break every time I need a good cup of coffee. Or a pick me up. Or to unwind. Or because I need a good cry. This place is like my shoulder to lean on. Monday morning, its there. Lines are quick, baristas are friendly. And they pronounce my NAME RIGHT! Amazing. And, they make one awesome cup of coffee. Or whatever your preference. Au contraire, every Starbucks is not the same. Trust me when I say that, my cup has love in it, every time.

I have never been in such a chaotic, disorganized, or rude Starbucks. I was so happy to see the clover machine, but the wait was incredible . Also , the wifi is spotty and inconsistent . I suggest elsewhere.

  • Leslie S.

I really hate visiting this Starbucks - if it wasn't so close to the office I would go elsewhere. The whole experience is one in poor customer service. When you walk in the door an employee looks at you expectantly as though to say "what's your order?" though he/she can't actually be bothered to greet you or actually ask that question. You're then herded to the register to pay some barking employee who looks half angry, half bored. I can't tell you the number of times I've received something other than what I ordered because the employees were simply not listening. The mistakes usually aren't critical - an oatmeal with everything instead of just brown sugar - but it's annoying to realize that no one really cares about getting your order right. Another case in point: something I like to call The Quest for the Missing Receipt. Because I travel on business I'm constantly asking for a receipt. No problem anywhere else, but at this Starbucks, obtaining one is akin to pulling teeth. On one particular occasion, I asked three times without success. I finally gave up when the employee , muttering a sarcastic "thanks for the receipt" as I turned to leave. She actually rolled her eyes at me and said, "I didn't hear you ask for one." Oh really? I will admit that the music in this "café" is deafening, but if you didn't hear me, why are you rolling your eyes? Actually, why are you rolling your eyes, period? Is that how Starbucks treats its loyal customers? The drinks and food are consistent with any other Starbucks so no problems there - quite frankly, that's the only reason I'm not giving this place one star.

    (2)
  • Koala G.

They no longer have Lemon Pound Cake. I have no reason to ever go back here now. I would gladly pay $200 for an airfare to LAX which seems to be the last remaining bastion offering Starbucks lemon pound cake. Let me eat lemon pound cake!

    (1)
  • Tyler L.

Service is not very friendly and pretty slow here. Sure they are always packed but it still takes what seemed like a very long time to get a simple drink made. They yelled at customers to line up in another area for drinks which could have been handled much better. Bathroom line is ridiculous as everyone uses this as a public toilet in the area. Tables were not kept clean.

  • Philip L.

"Dependable place to get work done" Recommended: Starbucks is a dependable place to meet up with friends or get work done on the weekend. Free wi-fi helps a lot. I'm at Starbucks almost every other week because there's a lot of convenient locations...Starbucks saves me a lot of time because it's an easy decision. The drinks are good enough (I don't drink a lot of coffee). A little disappointing: The fruit smoothies often have a trace of the smoothie powder in there...McDonalds smoothies actually taste better. Free wifi can be slow sometimes. The desserts are often too sweet so I don't usually buy them.

I was able to try this place on the recommendation of a friend, and this is definitely not a place to be missed, if you are in this area. Mostly if you're a coffee drinker.. this place has a brew of Clover brew machine. FYI, the machine costs $11000, and is available at this Starbucks.. that's enough to make you do an about face.. so for a VERY unique perspective - this is it. Okay - now what makes Clover brew stand out - there's a picture exemplifying what the secret of a good brew.. a machine that individually and freshly brewed each order.. so that the customer will definitely feel special after a sip this gourmet coffee. It certainly tasted nice! Cons - the place was very packed, and I was there for an hour. The line for the single restroom never ended. It was fascinating and gross at the same time. My friend looked over several times, and was like -I don't want to go if the line is that insane. There are plenty seats - in the form of benches and window stills. I was there for an hour and half - lucky enough to get a table, and a wall plug nearby to quickly type up reviews. So even with the hustle and bustle of this location, oddly enough it didn't feel overcrowded. Starbucks service is the same everywhere.. and there's a 6 train very close by. Since I was in the middle of rushing a draft - and a rest from walking all over Soho... this is definitely a place to go to if you need to get a kick of coffee.. and for gourmet coffee at that!

As far as Starbucks goes this has got to be the best one. The place itself has great atmosphere, probably employees a good portion of the top 5% of Batista's that Starbucks(SB) employees', nicely designed(more European style), clean, lots of seating areas, great floor to ceiling windows to look out for inspiration or just people watch, AND doesn't smell like some of the others SB! Can't go wrong here. Plus if you fell like trying something new at SB, they have Clover Press coffee. They were the first location to have this feature, followed by the E17th Union Square location, as well as some uptown SB. It's not for the weak, or for the milk drowners and tons of sugar pourers. It's cool to watch and a great cup of joe which can cost you upwords of $5 for a TALL! Prefect time to use those rewards card!! Plus they change the coffees on a regular bases, so there's always a new one to try for your now-even-pricer-Starbucks-addiction! Great!

I usually don't review Starbuxes (Starbucki?) but this one was fantastic when I went there on a random Monday night around 8. There was plenty of seating in this huge, gorgeous space with windows all around it. The lighting was warm and friendly, and they have a special clover press. I got the decaf Sumatra for $2.50 and was totally blown away. No bitterness, all flavor. Also, the guy took about 4 minutes to make sure the thing was perfect..grinding the beans, loading the machine, and whisking the hot water with the coffee, before it disappeared into that amazing machine. Love this place and sorry to hear all the bad reviews. If you try it, don't go on a weekend or busy Soho shopping times and you'll prob have a decent time

You have the baristas with bad customer service and then you have the really nice ones. There's one barista that is amazing... I'll have to get her name but she'll always greet you with a smile...even if its 7am....or 9pm..There's also a couple of guys who are nice....He may be the manager or supervisor or something...I work across the way and i always come here. Big seating area to meet friends and to rest if you're feeling a little tired. Free wifi...OK to study if you are those people who can tune out everything around you...there are 2 bathrooms....

When I go to SoHo, I usually take the 6 train there just so I can stop in this Sbux otw to shopping. It's across the street from the station. The store is huge! Plenty of seating & windows. Would probably be great for meetups. The lines are long, except for today @ 6:30PM when they weren't, thankfully. Despite the long line, service is usually quick with barely any wait time. The staff is nice, but I dont' frequent here often enough to know if they're ALWAYS nice. I just know that the whip cream on top of my PSL today was a perfect, pretty swirl. Yes, it does make the drink taste better when it's pretty. The bathroom is clean-ish. It's better than no bathroom when shopping in the neighborhood.

Starbucks has tried to be a third place (Home away from home.) and sometimes I understand what that means. This review is for lunch at spring ST and Crosby. Decor- The best part of this place is the reclaim hardwood which is a dark color. The dark color helps the whole store pop out. There are tons of single booth like seats and even a common table. Service- The service at Starbucks will always be varied because of the unique nature of their employees. This time I received good service but nothing stepper from the register and the girl forgot to write out my drink, but as usually the day is saved by another barista and the gentleman even increased my drink size as an apology. Ambience- The music is always at a good level but after being there for awhile the music repeats easily. This is also a place where business is being conducted around you. So naturally the place is loud at this time but not mood disruptive loud. Suggestion- please take the time to get a clover brewed coffee, this single brewed method gives you the best coffee ever. Overall- This place gets 4.5 because of the inconsistent but still pleasant service. This easily is my favorite Starbucks out of all of them.

A prime example of a Starbucks that used to be uncomfortably overcrowded, and they actually did something about it. This place was completely gutted out and redone, and the results are great. It's an awfully pretty Starbucks, with unique decorations that often make you forget where you are. The seating schemes are varied and super-comfortable. The bathrooms are sparkling, and eco-friendly too. The location is set up perfectly to accomodate a lot of people without feeling like a mob scene. The staff is pretty friendly, and as a nice touch, they all have their first names etched on their baseball caps.

This Starbucks location is nice because of it huge lounge area in soho. But Starbucks has gone way down hill quality wise. The fully automatic machines, sugar loaded drinks, too many employees who could care less about coffee. If you want good coffee go elsewhere. This corporation has gotten to big for it's britches and does not know how to make great coffee. They do know how to make money at the expense of quality. Just to leave on a positive note, I do appreciate Starbucks for being a public restroom. It has saved me a number of times, and I will periodically buy something in return for the service.

My favorite Starbucks. Now I know, saying that is like saying, "Oh hey that's my favorite math textbook" since you'll see tons of them, and they are all consistently boring, but this one JUST MIGHT be different. As far as my research takes me, it's what they consider one of their "concept" stores. The decor is totally different from the average starbucks, and is decorated in a very 1930's new york kind of feel with vintage style lights (that crumbs stores seem to have now borrowed), and neat and different types of seating. All of which is cool... however, that is not what makes this particular store special. This is (at the time of this writing) the ONLY New York area Starbucks store with one of those fancy Clover brewing machines. For which they grind and brew special coffees one cup at a time. This makes for coffee that is LIGHT YEARS better tasting than the regular burnt dreck that they usually serve at Starbucks, and is worth the trip just for that alone. I'm hoping that the clover machines will catch on and move out my way a bit more. They are a revolution!

Well, its actually 2.5 stars, but I went low instead of high cause the last few visits. I must admit, I frequent this location on a fairly regular basis, as its right on my path to work from the train. The pros: Huge open area with lots of seating, tons of windows for people watching through and a decent vibe with the music and people that go here. The cons: Gets extremely busy/crowded, which make wait times long, the drinks can be very hit or miss, the staff is very impersonable and seems far more interested in talking to each other than actually working. The verdict: Great place to hang out with friends or by yourself, so long as you dont expect much from the help. Stick with the basics, such as coffee, tea and packaged food or snack case.

I think this may be the nicest, cleanest Starbucks I've ever been to. It could be that I came here on a Sunday morning and missed the rush. But everyone here is so polite, and the milk/sugar stations are pristine -- something I've just never seen before! This is also a nicely decorated spot. It's a wide-open space with chairs, couches, benches, etc. There are even coat hooks behind some of the chairs! If I can come back, I will!

Being the travelling monster that I am (not by choice, by vocation really)...I came across this Starbucks and they have the worst, worst, worst customer service ever!!! Don't ever come here if you expect to get real service!

Before they renovated the store, this place was always packed with people. Sometimes it would get so overcrowded that it was not even worth to stand in line to get a drink. But now that they renovated it, the place looks a bit more spacious and definitely more seating areas. The decor is really unique because I think they're trying to go for a classic looking coffee shop, which is really cool. The service is also quite different. There's an actual greeter by the door and for a second when I walked in, I thought I had to make reservations in order to sit down but thankfully not. You also have a guy who stands by the cash register who would take your order and then you would walk up to the cashier to pay for your order. I thought having the guy taking your order was kind of pointless because they still managed to forget my drink. I think it just causes more confusion and inefficiency.

For iced coffee only: too bitter, too sour. 'tis no Dunkin!

My favorite Starbucks, actually. I love large open spaces and this particular Starbucks makes me feel the least claustrophobic. Funny, because my least favorite Starbucks is a few blocks away on Broadway next to Old Navy. This one is straight forward, orders come relatively quick, and they let me borrow a pen when I needed one. That's worthy of one star at least.

It was decent. A friend and I came here to warm up on a cold February night... and it was... decent. Not the worst Starbucks I've been too... not the best. The line was huge but it went by fairly quickly. The baristas are super friendly and got both our orders correct. The bathroom was absolutely horrendous. Pubes on the toilet and everything.... oh and no toilet paper. Eek. To be honest, a Starbucks is a Starbucks is a Starbucks.

No restroom. A coffee place without a restroom just doesn't work.

Also very good for Model - watching. It is Soho and their uh - hem, flexible lifestyle lets them frolic all over the place.

Great spot for clover brewed reserve coffees. The service is a little overwhelmed at times though when shows get out.

I don't understand all of the poor ratings for this Starbucks! First I will say that I am a Starbucks addict...But, secondly, this location offers quick, efficient, and friendly baristas and a large, open dining area.

As someone who works in the area, I'm just going to comment on the service. It's actually a really large place that's probably great for chilling and writing. The service is awful. I spent 20 minutes waiting for a coffee that should have take 5 minutes, tops, to prepare, even in a rush. Like any Starbucks, there are some awesome attentive employees, and some that just suck. They tend to put the nice ones at the register and the crummy ones on drink duty. This is fine if you don't have to have any interaction with the people making the drink, if your drink comes out nicely or they can read your name. Sadly, this isn't the case. I have a common name and no one down at the end can EVER pronounce it. They've lost my drink a couple of times, which is normal enough, but today was the final straw. They lost my drink. I waited, patiently without being able to make eye contact with the bump on a log of a baristo who was handing out the drinks. Finally, I had to practically jump up and down to get his attention. I told him about my missing drink, he conversed with the girl next to him (also apparently useless) and they said "give us a second". I gave them another 7 minutes or so, at which point I had to interject "Excuse me! Are you going to make my drink at all?" And then the guy looked around confusedly, completely unapologetic and asked "What did you have?" As if we hadn't had a conversation 7 minutes before. After at least 20 total minutes of waiting, I finally got my drink. He mumbled "sorry about that" in a way that said "I'm totally obligated to tell you I'm sorry, but I think you're an impatient bitch." Mostly I just want to say, the dope that they have working the machines at 10:30AM is terrible and probably should stick to wiping down tables.

When it's threatening thunder storms outside, this makes a great waiting area for Balthazar. Oh yeah and they serve the normal Starbucks fare too.

I blurt out my order of 'venti skim chai, extra hot' with an air of familiarity and lack of creativity that is readily acknowledged by the friendly, neighborhood staff at Starbucks. The 'evil Starbucks management' must have sat down and plotted a ten prong strategy of which leaving lots more room in your drinking cup was doubtless a critical component. Add to that an increasingly "run down" ambience and lots of variation in the quality of your drink lately, and you have the makings of a business establishment that is in bad need of some whipping. When is Starbucks going to warm up to the cold realities of its sliding performance? Clearly it should not be the caffeine that keeps their management up at night.

As all Starbucks (I only drink the tea, because they burn the coffee), there is an attitude that "we're above the riff-raff". I don't get the attitude...

Starbucks is nothing but a public bathroom that also sells mediocre coffee, pastries, and the NYTimes; three things that equal a visit to the toilet. very chickenegg

This place is uber convenient for us (office just around the corner), but ALWAYS packed. Long lines = long waits. Lately my coworkers and I are always getting the wrong drinks...like way wrong (Caramel Frap instead of Espresso, for instance). The baristas aren't very nice when you tell them it's wrong, either, unfortunately. Newly renovated, but need to get their order accuracy under control.

I generally can't stand Starbucks, but I have to admit, there is something special about this one. Maybe it's the supermodels that are there every day... Maybe it's the fact that I saw Leonardo DiCaprio in there. Or maybe because it is actually a beautiful cafe in a great location with quick service. Grande Americano with steamed skim... perfect for the winter blues. If it wasn't a chain, I'd have given in 5 stars!

I'm here everyday - I mean everyday. I order the same drink "I'll have a grande americano please - with room for milk." - They know me by now-don't they have to. Those fuckers never leave room and I have to poor out half the drink including that espresso residue that I so love - every time I get to the counter I pick it up and say to their face - it never happens!!! GRRR

Look, I admit it. Evil Empire or not, I'm addicted to Starbucks. I've come to terms with it...you should, too. However, this particular location (which, unfortunately, is the closest one to my office) is wretched. They have NEVER ONCE, in the seven months I've been working in the area, gotten my order correct on the first try. In addition, when overwhelmed, the help has not yet mastered the idea of finishing the orders they've taken before helping more customers. This results in a huge line and a lot of forgotten/incorrect drinks. The upside of this is that I have a stash of "free coffee" coupons I've accumulated from major screw-ups with my orders...which I can then use at other, more competant Starbucks locations. Which, luckily, aren't too hard to find.

I normally do not like to go into Starbucks unless I'm desperately in need of a caffeine fix or of a restroom. Didn't need any coffee the day I came in here, but needed to release the pressure on my bladder. Clean restrooms. Not bad! The line moved at a moderate pace.

fuck yeah i worked here during college. man, it was great. i gave all my friends free drink coupons by the hundreds, served julia roberts half and half instead of skim milk and stole not one but two espresso machines. YEAH I DID! and you know what? it felt GOOD. in fact, i probably fucked up the drink orders of all the other fools who reviewed this place. HELL YES! the best part about working here was definitely hearing the beastie boys record upstairs. oh and this one awesome homeless guy who would come in once a week, lock himself in the bathroom, strip naked and clean the entire thing with his clothing. it was crazy, i tell you. i just put an, "out of order" sign on the door and let him go to work. hell, that meant i didn't have to! more time for me to stuff pastries down my throat in the break room and read the enquirer. god, i miss being an undergrad. one thing to all of you wanna be francophiles out there, it's cruh-saant, not CWAAASAAAANT! ugh. to this day that remains one of my pronunciation pet peeves. whoa. it's like 19 year-old me possessed my body and wrote that. god, i want to sleep. i want to sleep so badly.

Evil corporate conglomerate....blah, blah, blah.....cookie cutter experience....blah, blah, blah....downfall of the mom and pop places in New York...blah, blah, blah. Starbucks is pervasive and hands down, you know what you're getting. Whether you choose to drink the coffee not, you'll certainly be able to find a one of their MANY New York City locations and, therefore, a bathroom. That said, I can't vouch for the cleanliness (ummm...you all know what I mean if you've ever experienced a Starbuck bathroom before) or the accessibility (sometimes you need a key and there's almost always a line!). But, it's like seeing a McDonalds when you are traveling in a foreign country: You're slightly horrified and yet comforted to know that it's around.

I work down the block from this Starbucks, so I frequent it. Obviously, menu-wise, a starbucks is a starbucks. But this one is special...since the baristas all know me, and say hello and smile and stuff. ;)
