We were planning to patronize Runyons at least once a month, for our dinners with friends, since they're right around the corner but with my last experience.... I will not be going back. This is a story about BAD MANAGEMENT!!! Service: The wait staff is very polite and friendly but we were told that management has policy to ask customers to remove their napkin holders and hand it to the waitress, so we did it. I thought that my only job was to pay my check, not work for my meal and... are they reusing those napkin holders that are handled by so many people over and over again, I'm a little skeeved. Food: When I received my meal and noticed that it was incomplete ( my PEI muscles, the main item was missing). I notified our waitress who apologized, she went to the chef and returned offering to fix my dinner by adding a couple of shrimp instead, since they were out of the main item for my meal and I accepted the offer instead of returning my meal. The waitress returned after a few minutes and notified me "THE MANAGER STATED THAT TWO SHRIMP ARE TOO EXPENSIVE, SO THEY CANNOT OFFER IT AS A REPLACEMENT" WHAT! Two shrimp for a $25 meal? Are you kidding me, I was appalled! Instead of apologizing for screwing up my meal and instead of correcting the problem and keeping your customers happy when the mistake is theirs, Runyons management choose to insult their customer by penny pinching . That's a little Nasty and tacky! They lost a few thousand dollars a year from my business as well a my friends for.... pennies. They finally half boiled three clams and served me as a replacement. Yuk! Watch Your Price: My meal cost was listed as 22.95 but, they charged 24.95 for my meal, this happened both times that I patronized this restaurant. Average food, boring menu, poor customer service.. I will take my business somewhere else and recommend that my friends do the same.

I like this place. I've always been a fan of irish pubs that actually play irish music. The waitstaff is very nice. The pub has a very welcoming feel to it. The drinks are fairly priced, $7 and good food too!

I actually worked at runyon's years and years ago but it has been a place of comfort for most of my life. Most things on the menu are really good but the 2 things to go specifically there for are.... Wings - The are in my top 3 wings of all time and some of the best wings I have had anywhere, I will go there specifically for them. Not your typical buffalo but almost a tangy spicy buffalo bbq sauce on huge, high quality, meaty wings... House Steak - its a pricey meal at $30 but well worth it if you want a delicious, tender steak marinated for 5 days served on a sizzling platter with some homemade horsey (horseradish) sauce on the side. All in all if you want some good 'american' food, Runyons is well worth a trip.

As usual this place never disappoints. I only come here for one thing and one thing only. THEIR WINGS, they're probably the best hot wings I've ever had and the homemade bleu cheese dressing that goes with it makes it even 10x better. The only dessert I constantly order every time I'm here is the fried ice cream. It might be the best thing here honestly beside their wings . I should probably try other things though

I had the NY serlion and baked potatoe, fried calamari, portebella mushrooms. First, steak was discusting, wasnt even good enough for my dog to eat when i brought it home. Second the price. The steak diner was $25, def not worth it. The fried calamari was ok, but not worth the $11. Everything else was good. If your looking for a high quality meal, look else where, you'll get raped on the price. Service was really good, but atmosphere was generically tacky.

Dine or Ditch? Dine... Although I wouldn't Run-yonself over there (I'm sorry about that one) I went for the first time today for lunch with my sister. We didn't try much, but this place seemed to offer pub classics. Burgers, wings, Irish nachos, and of course beer. I had the pull pork sandwich. It was very nice sized and came with fries, cole slaw, and a pickle. The sandwich itself was alright. It didn't wow me and I'm not dying to go back, but I wouldn't be against it either. The fries were actually very, very tasty. They were the right amount of potato for me and they were crisp and tasted fresh. It was definitely my favorite part of the meal. They slaw was also pretty good. They seemed to have both the mayo and vinegar type of slaw. I preferred the mayo, but the vinegar one had some interesting spice to it which was also pretty nice. I also took a bite of my sister's burger. It was prepared well and was just a basic burger (the way she wanted it). I would like to give the burger another shot and maybe check out their BATS burger with avocado and bacon. When I eventually get back to Runyons I'll be sure to update as that will most likely be my next meal there. Our waiter seemed fun and was very helpful. He went through the sides and the details of each with my sister since she couldn't decide if her life depended on it. The bar also had some fun decor, like you would expect, and private booths which I really enjoyed. Overall, it was a good experience and I would go back.

It looked closed when we approached Runyons from the parking lot in the back. We had just come from Effin Gruven and after getting here, going back to Gruven for me to get my credit card that I had stupidly left behind, we went in after seeing someone come out. Definitely one of the smaller, quieter bars I've been to, especially on the night we went (last Friday). Drinks are priced fair, like most places in this area. The bartender(s) didn't pay too much attention to us, which got kind of annoying when we were trying to order our drinks. They have Buzztime trivia (the trivia game that's always on at Buffalo Wild Wings) so we were having fun guessing the answers. Runyon's is a pretty nice place. It's got an old school feel, where everything is hard wood or brass. I like that. I'll check it out again if I'm back in the area and want somewhere quieter than the Leaky

Went on a Sunday night with my husband. Thought we would give it a try had not been there in 20 years. Extremely pricey for the quality of the food. Service was ok. Restaurant area looked very tired. We really didn't enjoy the meal - it was "ok".

Years ago you could get an okay meal here. Not the case last night. We called earlier and were told they served food until 10 and that we could get a table if we are seated by that time. Arrived at 9:35 to be told we could not get a table. Explained to the waitress that we had called and she rudely argued otherwise. Asked for the manager and was seated. The waitress told us we needed to order NOW if we wanted food literally one minute after sitting down. We did and received one of the worst meals of our lives. Soggy fries that tasted like they'd been sitting out for hours. Steak sandwich that was ordered medium came completely RARE. It was still cold. Burnt bread. Awful. Inedible. A shame because the gravy was really good. Bad service. Bad execution. Bad quality. Overpriced. 0 stars.

Was going to eat across the street last night but wanted to pregame with my son so we stopped in knowing they had a nice bar scene. Bar was rocking and the Bartender was a welcome relief from the Hot College Student, very professional and attentive. Saw a Huge piece of Prime Rib come out so my son and I decided to stay. Sent a Text to my daughter that the plans were changed. I regret changing those plans. Had to wait for a while to be seated but once we were seated NO ONE came over for a very long time. Spoke to manager and he sent someone over. Tim V, the worst waiter in Restaurant History, A unanimous decision by me and my 2 kids. This guy always had to be somewhere other than by our table. When he was there he did the classic, not stop walking past the table as he spoke to us. My pork chop and the sauce it was on was a week old and flavorless, the kids burgers were very good, apps were nothing I would order again. Go for the Bar but do not enter the Dining Room.

Upscale pricing on most entrees $23-30, for a pasta dish and steak respectively, but it is much like TGI food and atmosphere. Tap beer $8 a glass. Simply not a good value.

We have been coming here for over 10 years and within the last year or so it has been on a steady decline!! Tonight's meal was the deal breaker for us. What a shame, this was such a great neighborhood eatery.

They are a bit overpriced for my budget but I've been here a few times for family occasions. I went here for a Communion party in one of the rented out spaces. They have a good place for parties. There's also a nice bar area... not for my age group though. I've had their food for lunch and their burger is yummy. This place has been in Seaford for quite some time and is okay in my opinion.

I visited my first Runyon's back at the old East Meadow location in the mid to late 90's. That place has long closed down, but this is the same place with the same menu for the past 15+ years. I view this place as a Long Island bar. Not a gastro-pub or some other new agey title, it's a bar folks. If you want a burger, this is your place. Better yet if you want a burger with a sunnyside egg on it, this is definitely your place. You want decent buffalo chicken pizzetta, some oysters or clams with your fries then you'll do fine here. The beer is cold, the selection is good and wine list is more than OK. But it's been my experience that you can't expand too far away from these basic foods that they do very well. And you just can't do the brunch. Stay away from the entrees and pasta, don't get too crazy with the appetizers and just to repeat, the brunch is an absolute no go. If I came in here for the first time and had an entrée or brunch I would never come back. But for burgers, oysters and a beer, you'll do great. Just remember where you are.

Went in to have a burger and wasn't disappointed. Loved the atmosphere in here. Very personal booths also. I had a salad and a burger with lettuce tomato and bacon and it was great! So much flavor in the burger. The fennel seeds on the bun I could live without but nothing bad about taste. all the food came out on time and everyone was cheery. I'm so glad I traveled from bayside queens to try a burger out in seaford.

Whenever I am in town visiting family I come to Runyuns with my mom and sometimes some friends. The service is quick and friendly and the food is great. Its a small restaurant with a full bar and daily specials. The prices are very reasonable and ive never been let down by the food or service. I would definitely recommend this to other friends and family

Runyons is our late night dinner pub. Went on Friday at 9:30 for dinner and were graciously received by our server Erin. Had wings app which was comprised of a bunch of very meaty wings with crudite and dressing dip.....I was full after the app! It was late and all specials were gone so we went with burgers and fries, mine with a fried egg and my wife had mushrooms and onions...both meaty and cooked to perfection.

Attended a suprise party here and wow! fun place! Only got a chance to really see the bar area but it was totally packed! Got this feeling that this is a real hometown favorite place for alot of the people in the area. For the party they brought out wings and a pasta-carbonara-esque dish. It could have been the liquour talking but both items were delicious. However, I did not come here to talk about some wings or pasta. The love of my life that night became their BAVARIAN HOT PRETZEL. Yes it needed all caps. It was like my life changed the moment I tried this thing. I know you are saying "a pretezel? really?" Yes, it was that good. Hot, soft, buttery and yum. Comes with three dipping sauces (mustard, cheese and my personal fave a horseradish sauce). SO. F'N. GOOD. The other apps tried were mozz balls and quesadillas. Everything was hot, fresh and delicious.

I attended a baby shower here and was impressed with the rustic ambiance and courteous staff. One of the waiters offered to help me carry in the large and bulky gift for the expecting mother. They had a private room for small events and it was pretty nice. The bread was delicious and the food was pretty good. I'd definitely return to try the regular food if I'm in the area again.

My boyfriend and I really enjoy this place! The atmosphere isn't the best, and the bar gets pretty rowdy at night, but the food and service at top notch. My boyfriend loves the steaks here. He has even gotten them to-go a handful of times now and they're really delicious. Yes, they're a little pricy but the quality is there, so it's worth it. I had the bull burger here and it was great. The egg on top was cooked perfectly, as was the burger itself. Looking forward to having it again. We'll continue to frequent this place!

Everyone loved their meals. This place has a nice diverse menu, great decor and privacy and even entertainment. Service was good to boot. I ordered very healthy food -soup and salad- and wasn't expecting to enjoy it as much as I did! Others got fish tacos (complete with cute and helpful little stands), a burger with buffalo sauce and bleu cheese and a 2 oz teacup of their special seafood bisque (for $1.35- named after the nearby Seaford-Oyster Bay) and Irish wedding soup!

seriously? what the heck happened? trying to be concise as i process the shock of decline in every aspect of runyon's the "restaurant." i will post again with more detail but am morally obligated to say that my heart breaks for tim mahoney for compromising his amazing culinary talents. i now realize why his name is no longer on the menu except for the meatloaf entree. omg...i will post again later...:(

This was my first visit to Runyons and I will be definitely be back. My friend and I were greeted quickly with a smile and seated in a cozy booth. Our adorable waiter was very pleasant and attentive. Monday is pasta night and my friend had a salad, entree, glass of wine and coffee for only $10.95. We were served chilled vegetables with dressing and warmed bread, flat breads and butter. My steak was topped with fresh batter dipped fried onions and it was delicious and cooked perfectly. The mashed potatoes were seasoned and delicious. Can't say enough good things about Runyons! Great food, great atmosphere and great service.

American Tavern. Runyon's has been around forever and for good reason - excellent food and service. The menu is extensive (although the chef must own a Gorgonzola factory as it seems that every other dish has Gorgonzola in it) enough to keep you from making a quick decision. The appetizers are just as heavy with seafood as the other dishes are with Gorgonzola- they need to balance out the menu a bit. The coolest thing is that in addition to the standard basket of bread, they drop a crudite' assortment to pick on while awaiting your food - a nice touch. The help was outstanding with frequent visits from the manager, the waiter and even the bus boy. Dinner specials nightly. Parking lot out back.

I came here for dinner with my dad. They told us there was a fifteen minute wait, and the waiting area happened to be right next to the bar. I was a bit skeptical of this as the bar area was not too busy and the view into the restaurant section was blocked by dividers; my conspiracy theory was that they wanted to us to order a few drinks before being seated. After about fifteen minutes they seated us, and we must have passed four or five empty two person tables en route which means that my theory was correct or the restaurant was understaffed. Either way, not a good start. The waitress' service was fair. She gave us ample time for drink and dinner orders; she brought the food out hot, but she never refilled or offered to refill my water. She also quickly reconciled one of the drink orders which she had mistaken. As for food, we shared an order of fried calamari and a cowboy steak with mashed potatoes. I like that they started us off with some chilled vegetables. The calamari was good for an establishment that is not marketed as a seafood restaurant. The steak was also quite good. The seasoning was appropriate, and the chef cooked it to a perfect medium rare. The steak was topped off with fried onions from a tin can which we just wiped right off. Though thin, freshly fried onions would have been a perfect complement . Overall, I thought the food was good but definitely overpriced. My dad was quite dissatisfied with the portion of the steak for the price. The menu listed the steak we ordered as 22 oz, and he thought it was a 16 oz steak. A convenient aspect of Runyons is the menu. It is extremely diverse which is nice if you are going with a group and cannot collectively agree on a type of food. It is also difficult to pin point what the venue's specialties exactly are as there is no concentration of a specific item or symbols to denote the chef's specialties.

So it's 10 o'clock on Saturday night and we're hungry. Runyon's comes to mind, and forgetting my recent disappointment, it's off we go. The bar has a few people around but the tables are almost empty - really unusual for a Saturday night. I am surprised. Dinner was good. Top notch bar food the way it used to be. Great soup, good salad, nice steak sandwich. In my last review I slammed this restaurant. Perhaps someone took notice because there really was noticeable improvement. Get the people back and it will be like the good old days.

  • Dan L.

Runyons has very good food but their lunch menu is over priced with nothing under $15 - way too much for a burger or sandwich. My other complaint is they used to have a signature burger that bore their name and they took it off the menu. The Runyon burger was a bacon and blue cheese burger with a side of blue cheese - and it was friggin awesome!! I used to order it all the time and then they changed the menu, raised prices and took away my burger!! Sure I could order the same type of burger but now it's at least $5 more then it used to be. It sucks because the food is very good but our last lunch for 2 was over $50 and that's without ordering any alcohol - way too much for a pub style restaurant.

Okay food here. Had a late night Sunday dinner that was okay...nothing amazing. Staff was nice but abandoned us half way through dinner. We had to seek out our waitress for the check. They get an extra star for their fresh oysters.

I have been coming to Runyon's for years and I can honestly say I've never , ever had a bad meal. The menu is vast and to simply call it " New American" really doesn't do it justice. It has tremendous variety and I would recommend anything on it. The chefs there really take pride in their cooking and are always coming up with new spins on old classics. Some of my favorites include, but are not limited to: Lighthouse clams, Oysters Runyon, cajun mixed grill, sesame tilapia, the house steak, the grilled andouille melt and the Bacigalupe Burger, but as I said before, you really can not go wrong with anything there. The place is worn well with a great bar (and bartender) and nice cozy booths. A nice place if you want to hang out with friends, enjoy thoughtfully prepared food and not spend a fortune!

Our waitress, whom shall remain anonymous, was just awful. She was slow with taking our order. Clearly had her mind elsewhere because she was constantly messing up and asking us to repeat our orders. She didn't tell us what they were out of until we had already ordered said items and didn't show any care. The worst was my mom ordered a 18$ mussel special which was supposed to come worth fries and when she didn't receive them we asked her if we were supposed to get them and she said no! We checked the menu at the end, it said we were supposed to get them and my mother showed her and she said " oh the chef didn't serve them the whole night I have no idea why it said that". A mussel bowl is not 18$. She's clearly in need of training and an education. The food was ok.

The manager jumped on our review within 48 hours. We felt she genuinely was concerned about making our next experience positive. We returned within two months and found the service and food quality was as my husband remembered. We were so happy we gave them a second chance.

I would give the bar three stars and the food two stars. It's a good place to grab a beer after work, but I wouldn't make this a "destination" establishment. It's a place to stop at before you get to where you want to be or after you've been to where you went. That being said, I broke my own rule and decided to actually order a meal with my bloody Mary this morning. The brunch menu offered a free cocktail, bread basket, sunny side up eggs, hash browns and a lamb chop. Waited a very long time for my order and when it finally came out, the eggs and potatoes were cold.(BTW, There was no bread basket) I sent it back and the manager came over to apologize and advised me that she was cooking me a whole new order rather than re-heating it. You were thinking of re-heating it? How does one re-heat a sunnyside up egg? Hmmmmmm. Waited some more and my new plate was better. They even gave me another bloody Mary on the house, which was very kind of them. Service is always good here and the bartenders are all outgoing. I'll stick to my original game plan in the future and reserve this spot for happy hour!

I went here with my girlfriend for a double date with another couple. We were originally going somewhere else, but a lengthy wait prompted us to call in for a reservation of 4. While calling, the person said it would be about 45 minute wait, since it took us 15 minutes to get there, we figured no problem. Once we got there, we waited about 3 minutes before being seated (awesome!). Our server was fantastic, very personable. We all got burgers, which were delicious, tempertures perfect all around. The actual quality of the meat wasn't premium, but the bun made it very tasty. Our server explicitly asked about the temperatures, which I liked. I asked for hot sauce with my burger, and my server brought Siracha sauce, one of my favorite hot sauces (how did he know?). I love beer and they had a local Long Island brewery called Fire Island (it's not brewed on fire island..), which was really good. Good recommendation, server. Altogether a very pleasant experience. I would recommend this place and come back again.

I stumbled upon this place because a friend had told me about this great thing... T&A. It's not what you think... It's TAPS and APPS. Half Price Tap Beer Half Price Appetizers It's such a blast. There's a great crowd and you can get a ton of food and beer for a very reasonable price!! Bo, the bartender, is so on his game. He is tending to so many people but never forgets what you were drinking!! :) So, I have never actually sat down to dinner here. I cannot review what it's like to have dinner here. But they def. have some good T&A going on Thursday nights!! :)

I chose the "Calypso Brie" as an appetizer, absolutely terrible. The deep fried brie ends up becoming a gelatinous puck inside fried dough. My first impression, carnival fried dough disaster. Everything else, ok.

The service and atmosphere was okay, although needs to be updated a bit. The food was terrible. We ordered steak and burgers and neither were good. That's pretty much what the place specializes in. The mashed potatoes were bland as well. They serve this veggie platter that's pretty awful and unappetizing. Bread and butter would be better. I wouldn't recommend this place and would never go back.

Walked in, waited over 20 minutes to be told to wait some more. Rude staff that ignored us the whole time. Would not go back, decided to go to The Phoenix across the street, what a good idea. I suggest that you try it too.

My mom & bridesmaids threw me a bridal shower here nearly a year ago, & Runyon's did well in getting everyone seated comfortably and delivering a tasty brunch to about 20 hungry ladies! I can only assume that the price was reasonable as well.

Being that Ralph's is right around the corner, I've passed this place over and over again, wondering what was inside. Tonight, I finally know. Deliciousness is housed there. I was a little early to meet my friend so I took at seat and ordered a Magners. (1) They actually had it! (2) Apparently no one (including the bartender) knew what it was (in a pub, weird) so it wasn't even listed in the register. End result......He charged me $5 :) Off to a beautiful start. At first glance it appeared to me a local yocal kinda of place. There are OTB machines (because you know alcohol, credit cards and gambling go so well together) and TVs plastered everywhere. The crowd was definitely on the 40+ side but a fun bunch nevertheless. A few steps up from the bar are booths with walls ceiling high for privacy (+) but tons of light so not cramped or dreary. As soon as we sat down the waitress brought us a board with 1/2 a loaf of amazingly fluffy on the inside, crunchy on the outside bread accompanied with seasoned flat bread and butter. Also served were celery sticks, carrot sticks, some other kind of stick that I couldn't figure out what it was but it was light and refreshing, accompanied with an herb ranch dressing. On Wednesday nights they offer a "Blackboard special" which includes one of 5 entrees, soup or salad, coffee/tea and a dessert....for $12.99. Entrees like Blackened catfish with mashed potatoes and fried stuffing and Apple BBQ ribs. I ordered the Sesame Seed Encrusted Tilapia with Bokchoy and Jasmin rice. WWWWWOOOOOWWWW. The fish, fresh, light, flavorful, tasty with the sesame seeds. The bokchoy is one of the best I've ever had and the side of rice was the perfect size. All in all it was a fantastic dish. For dessert we split the Creme Brulee Cheesecake. *Drool* Good food, fabulous service (we were there for almost 3 hours and our server was as sweet as the cheesecake lol). I'm a little hesitant to go back since the first go around was surprisingly enjoyable but for sure a viable option on the Island.

Had a bridal shower there...The food was ok but the service was terrible...People missing meals, cold coffee and no milk/sugar on tables...I was very disappointed.

Great burgers, awesome buffalo wings, laid back environment, never a long wait. This is a great place to go for bar food that's slightly better than the rest, give it a try.

I'm from out East but was in the neighborhood so I yelped for a "burger pub". And my iPhone found this place and it was great. Pretty extensive menu, and outstanding atmosphere and service! Although as usually, with me, I had to try the burger, and it was top notch. Fries were a bit weak but I survived. There really were many very interesting menu choices, ill branch out next time. Tap selection is a bit limited, but they have Blue Point! If and when I'm this way I would certainly hit it again. If this place was local for me me I'd probably become a regular. Highly Recommend!!

This place has the best house steak and seafood bisque. Definitely going to try and make it back. Our bartender was really friendly, and attentive.

One of my very favorite Long Island Restaurants. With a lively bar scene up front, Runyons manages to also have a warm, fun and romantic restaurant tucked behind it. The "new american" menu always has some interesting offerings. Do they offer a good burger and steak? Sure. But some of the other offerings are quite tasty as well, such as the twin Pork Chops. The seafood dishes are usually quite good. Before the meal (at dinner) they will bring out a warm loaf of bread and a crudite of veggies and a "house dressing" which you can also get on your salad. I prefer to sit in the cozy booths within the main dining room area, as the "back room" can get drafty and cold, plus your waiter or waitress, they don't make the rounds as much back there and you can end up waiting long periods for soda refills or to make a request. A few years ago I would have rated this place a five. Although still delightful, its not as classy as before....maybe its that big flat screen tv now glaring the yankee game five feet away from my candle lit booth. Maybe its getting a side of broccoli on a recent trip, that was not fresh, vibrant and green. They are slipping. When did Runyons become Dave & Busters?

This place has been in town for years, I never bothered to go in. I ended up going there one day and I really wasn't expecting much. Then I got pleasantly surprised and had the Chicken Mediterranean, It was good.

Great service and good food! I was impressed by the friendly and courteous service I received from the moment we stepped foot in the establishment. Good services seems to be on the decline in most places on Long Island, but not here. Small but nice selection of tap beers. For an appetizer, I had their wings. They were your typical bar buffalo wings done right. After a nice house salad I was on to the main course. I had the "Not-a-Philly" Cheese steak. The steak was cooked the way I like it - Medium rare and was fully covered with Gorgonzola cheese. This was a bit more cheese then my liking but the excess was easily pushed to the side. Definitely a good steak. Runyons is a great casual restaurant. If your in the neighborhood definitely check it out.

This place is a hidden gem! Looks like your standard burger and wings pub. It is, but there's a lot more to it. The chef is fantastic! Everything is homemade! Great marinated steaks! Specials everyday! Always fresh seafood. Greatest bartenders in the world! (Almost ). Only drawback , the chef does not like Tabasco! He won't keep it in the restaurant!

i love this place,,,,first of all its burgundy garlic dressing that s served with the veg crudite,,and the celery, carrots and broccoli are accompanied by jicama. if you can't afford soda refills don't order it. the food is fabulous,,the service is outstanding and the drinks are strong,,what more could you want in a restaurant. the manager always comes by and asks how everything is, most times he's always comped a dessert or drink for me and my family..the burgers are HUGE,,the ff are delish. i usually get the texas chili app with rice and corn chips and its enough for a meal. the busser was always right there to help with clean up and water and bread refills. all in all i highly recommend you try this restaurant you will love it.

I have been dining at Runyons for years. I have always enjoyed the food very much. Now I doubt I will ever go back. I have never had a worse waitress, or worse service. My girlfriend and I both ordered soup and an entree, nothing too complicated. After a half an hour, I finally got the waitress Fran's attention. She said the kitchen was backed up and the soup would be out shortly. It wasn't even crowded. Ten minutes later she hadn't come back, so I asked for the manager. Eventually manager came over and said Fran was flustered and forgot to put in our entire order. It took 40 minutes to find this out, and she lied, blaming it on the kitchen. Eventually the soup came out, and 20 minutes later dinner came. Fran asked us if we wanted grated cheese, we said yes. 15 minutes went by, and when she came back with no cheese, I asked her if she had forgotten but she said we would have to wait, because the other tables were using all the cheese. Everything this girl said made no sense, and was untrue, and everything I asked for, or ordered, was forgotten. Just awful, awful service, so turned off we didn't even eat our dinners.

About Taco Bell

Taco Bell is a haven for Mexican delicacies such as tacos, quesadillas, burritos, nachos, and other specialty items. Owned by Yum! Brands, Inc. Taco Bell is one of the fastest growing American chains of fast food restaurants. The restaurant operates from 7,072 different locations which are mostly run by independent franchisees and licensees.

The background story of Taco Bell is interesting and inspiring for budding entrepreneurs. The fast-food brand is the brainchild of Glen Bell, who started his first food venture as a hot dog seller in San Bernardino, California. The year was 1948. After witnessing long queues outside a Mexican restaurant called Mitla Café across the street, Bell saw the opportunity and demand for hard-shelled Tacos. He reverse-engineered the recipe and later started selling Tacos and called the venture Taco-Tia.

Later, the name changed from Taco-Tia to El Taco. Eventually, Glen Bell sold the company to his partner and opened the first Taco Bell in Downey in 1962. By 1964, the restaurant also got its first franchise in Torrance. The 100th Taco Bell restaurant was opened by 1965. PepsiCo acquired Taco Bell from Glen Bell in 1978 and the restaurant brand is currently a subsidiary of Yum! Brands which looks after the restaurant business of PepsiCo.
