I've walked by this place for a long time but for some reason never went in and I love Mediterranean food. What can't the chickpea do? So I finally went in there yesterday for late lunch at around 3pm. I'm one of those people who eats at off hours to avoid crowds. The place is big and clean and the counter person was nice as I took my time looking at the menu. I got a falafel bowl with faro, hummus and feta. As I waited for my food I saw one of the guys in the back come out as he was cutting up those plastic six pack rings. Right there I was hooked on Nanoosh. I mentioned how cool that was to see him do that and he said they are instructed to do that. If you're not aware please cut those six pack holders. They get stuck on wildlife and kill and maim animals. Major points for any place that has that directive in their company procedures. The food was excellent! We all need more faro!! They bake their falafel balls not fry but they do have a good texture and great taste. Hummus was fresh tasting and it also looked like the pita was whole wheat. The bowl looks small but it's packed. I was full. Looking forward to trying other things on their menu.

I order delivery from here at least once a week. Based on food quality and taste, Nanoosh deserves five stars but I'm giving three because of an experience I had. The manager, Milagra, was so rude to me today that I felt compelled to write this review so that they owners would know. I called today to order a large soup for delivery. Milagra, who answered the phone and took my order, said very rudely "That is not the minimum order!". I replied "Well how much is the minimum order?" She went on a tirade to say that soup only is not enough for delivery. So again, I asked "What is the minimum?' (I am happy to order more food to make the minimum!) She then continued to have a conversation with someone else while I was just sitting there on the phone and finally shrieked that the minimum for deliver is $12. I want to note that a delivery minimum is NOT listed on the Nanoosh website. So how was I expected to know? Every other time I've ordered, my orders have been well over $12. And as a regular customer, I certainly don't deserve to be treated badly and shamed for placing a small order. I called back and thankfully another girl answered to take my order. She was very courteous and warm, which is what I normally experience from the staff there with the exception of Milagra.

Really good, fresh, authentic but healthy. Lots of good vegan and gluten free options too.

Good spot for lunch in midtown. Ample seating. The line moves fairly quickly and food comes out fast. Taste profile could use a bit more pizazz.

The hummus is good but stay away from the rest, not impressed.big space,, has assortment of teas. Played a Portuguese song we liked.

I always get the avocado lentil salad with a big scoop of hummus on it with their citrus dressing. I am so happy with how fast, delicious, fresh and healthy this place is! The mint iced tea is always refreshing on a hot day too. The manager during the day seems very organized and helps to get orders out quickly. I've eaten here 2x in the past week!

My friend recommended this place for lunch when my cousin was in town and we went there last week. It's a nice, "fast food", Mediterranean restaurant. It's very bright, open, and inviting restaurant. I got the hummus powerfood plate and it was pretty good. It's deceivingly filling. The pita was large and OK (to me, just your average pita bread), but the hummus was decent - I got the roasted red pepper. I just felt a little underwhelmed in the overall amount of food, meaning I wish I got more than just simply hummus and pita for the price I paid. However, it was tasty, healthy, and I'll come back again for lunch.

I like the food here a lot. I have even learned how to make some of it at home so I can have it more often. It is a little bit pricey for what it is. But it tastes so good and is addictive sometimes. I usually get the power food plate with chick peas , quinoa, hummus and Mediterranean salad with pita bread too. It is filing. I also like the butternut squash soup but I think that is seasonal.

I work in the area and am always on the hut for a good lunch spot that's not Guy and Gallard, home of the $6 small soups... I've been to Nanoosh a few times but will NOT be returning after today. This place is for the birds. I ordered a chicken Shawa bowl, plus olives, no hummus. Seems easy. The person at the counter said, "ok, that's a the chicken Shawa tzatziki bowl". I said ok, cuz they are the expert, right? $10 later, back at work I open my food. Cold dusty looking flavorless chicken. Olives. A mountain of tzatziki sauce. It's a damn shame when Guy and Gallard have better food and more reasonable prices. lol Never again, hunty. Never again.

I think the best advice I can give for this place is to make a special order. Due to my crazy class schedule, I was getting lunch at 11:45, well before the lunch rush from all the nearby offices. You can see into the prep area of the kitchen (which is cool) and of course I checked it out. What I saw was all the employees half-making a bunch of wraps, probably so they could bang them out quickly when the rush hits. This makes sense in terms of efficiency, but it also means that you could have a wrap that has had hummus soaking into it for a half hour. The food itself was mediocre. I got the new chicken wrap, which was kind of like ground chicken that was sort of a "layer" in the final product. Not very chickeny. The whole thing was sort of bland in general, which is kind of disappointing too.

There are few things I find unforgivable in my food - and biting down on a big rock is one of them. My tooth is throbbing and potentially cracked, and half of my farro and chicken plate is sitting uneaten in the trash. I am also baffled by how a rock ends up in a plate of food. A protesting delivery man? A filthy kitchen? A complete and total lack of quality control? None are good options. The assistant manager I spoke to, "Misty", was completely unapologetic, unable to figure out how to work their phone system, and added insult to literal injury by giggling and overall acting like she thought the fact her restaurant's food contained gravel was pretty damn funny. I will never be eating here again, and suggest you avoid as well, unless you have lots of time and money for post-meal dentist's visits

Probably the best hummus I've ever had. And when I asked the cook what they put in it, I was surprised when he told it contained only chick peas, lemon, salt, and olive oil! No garlic, which I thought was essential for making hummus. Well, simplicity I suppose is best...and I didn't even notice the absence of the garlic.

So disappointing. Took over 70 minutes to get out order ( had a delivery estimate on seamless of 30 to 45 mins ). We called several times and were told they have never had a complaint about cold food...after telling us the delivery guy had 7 orders to take. We got the food and it's cold. What a waste.

Well, I came with a lot of expectations. A friend told me they serves the best humus in NYC. I had falafel and humus. It was so-so. I had better falafels as well as humus. No salt, no taste in both. Picles and humus? Honestly, not a good combination! Yuck!

Easy, healthful lunch. Everything is fresh and the food is genuinely good. There is always a decent-sized lunch crowd, with a little wait to have your number called, but not a big deal. With options like Hale & Hearty next door and Pret nearby, this place distinguishes itself with Mediterranean that is neither repackaged nor assembly lined

Nanoosh is an upscale fast food restaurant, perfect for a lunch or casual dinner with friends. There isn't table service, but the atmosphere of the dining room is much more peaceful and calm than most midtown lunch spots. As far as the food goes, the hummus is perfect! As a gluten free gal, I usually request carrots instead of pita. Also, I love the corn/sweet potato chips sold here. If you've never tried them, buy them. You will thank me. As of this date, this location also offers gluten free wrap. The added upcharge for the gluten free wraps is the only reason I'm not giving Nanoosh 5 stars; it just seems a bit too steep of a final cost for what I'm walking away with. Nonetheless, it is a fine gluten free option and I'm certainly glad to have it. I can't wait for summer when I can pick up a to-go wrap and walk down to Madison Square Park. Note: Beer

I went in with a breakfast voucher from Gilt City, was left waiting for 10 minutes (even though clearly they saw me, smiled, and waved at me), and was finally informed that they are not serving breakfast today (even though the hours online say they are). They refused to honor my voucher for lunch, or to show any amount of customer service whatsoever. There are a million yummy places to eat lunch in this area; why bother going to one that has no interest in making their customers happy?

I love this place. Yes, it is fast food. But it is authentic Mediterranean fast food. The food is delicious. They must have some magical ingredient in the green tahini sauce. It was full so quickly, my stomach was thanking me for trying it. If your looking in the area and you don't want fast food or just going to a random deli, I highly recommend Nanoosh.

I love this place. I'm not much of a hummus person, but I enjoy it here. I'm also a large guy and don't get full easily, but a small cup of lentil soup and bowl of the regular hummus with chicken and I am full for hours. It was the first place I sought out when I moved to New York.

I came to Nanoosh with an appetite and they delivered (not literally, but I wish)! Their portions are very generous and the food was amazing. I tried a cup of the lentil soup to start and loved that. For the meal I ordered the organic quinoa with tahini powerplate and added chicken. All the ingredients were fresh and the flavors were perfect together. I have adopted eating a "whole food" diet so the fact that all of Nanoosh's ingredients are natural and organic makes a big difference for me. Would choose this over anything else out there for a quick but healthy meal.

I've been here numerous times since discovering this place a few months ago, and am always more than satisfied with the quality and freshness of the food, and the portions. And it is an added bonus that the food is all healthy and organic. I was surprised when I recently won their monthly drawing for a catered lunch for 6! Good to see someplace that honors the drawing and is not just attempting to get emails to spam. Lisa was wonderful in helping to set up the lunch, and my co-workers and I are were all impressed with the portions and taste!

The food is very well made, middle eastern style dishes. The best I like is power food plate with quinoa which comes with raisins and nuts. It's a big portion. My favorite for lunch!

So I popped onto Seamless last night while laying in bed wanting some quick Mezze and figured Nanoosh could hook it up for me. Wrong indeed. The food - some chicken/hummus wrap and a side salad was very bland and lacked anything substantial to even write about. Quite a negative experience.

Nanooshhhhhh love saying the name, even if its just in my head. It's still delicious. I tried the Farro Steak Plate this time, with red roasted pepper hummus. -Steak was cut up into bite sized pieces and cooked well. Hummus made it taste better. -Farro is a type of grain that I haven't tried before, and I like the taste of it. Its a rounder, bigger, squishier version of brown rice.

When I need a quick & healthy lunch that's close to the office I often wind up at Nanoosh. I really like the Chicken Greek Salad Wrap. Unlike a lot of other customer reviews, I feel like the ingredients are pretty fresh and that the wraps are made to order. Usually I go around 1pm for lunch during the week. Typically it doesn't take long to order and seating seems relatively available at this time.

Nanoosh is a good healthy alternative to the many fast food options in the area (i.e., if you're dieting), but they lack in the flavor department. Their regular hummus and the falafels were all right (served cold and inserted into the hummus), but the pita was definitely stale and bland. They put quite a bit of effort into their presentation and packaging. They aren't exactly a hole-in-the-wall so if you have a group of 6, it is likely Nanoosh can accommodate.

My, what a fun name for an eatery. Nanoosh. You just want to keep saying it. Nanoosh. Nanoosh. Nanoosh. Nanoosh. Ahhh - stop it! I had a chance to check this spot out for lunch the other day. Looking for something different to eat not too far from my office I happened upon Nanoosh. There are around three of them in the city and they describe themselves as a "Mediterranean hummus bar". This is exactly what I was looking for. Even the place itself has a different unique look to it. A mix of lime green, white, beige, and wood colors. Bright, airy, and clean. Lot's of seating. Almost too clean. Hey, that's a good thing - not complaining. Friendly counter staff. The menu itself is pretty simple and offers a variety of soups, salads, hummus plates, hummus wraps/bowls, sides, and desserts. Their food is billed as an "organic take on classic Mediterranean". I ordered up a Hummus Chicken bowl that came with all natural chicken breast, organic onions, tahini, and a sprinkling of paprika on it. It also came with a thick fluffy whole wheat pita. I actually enjoyed this quickie lunch meal. Sure, it's akin to eating "fast food hummus" but it was not all that bad. The hummus was smooth and creamy, the chicken and onions flavorful enough, and the pita rocked. You receive a decent amount of food overall just right for a lunch portion that won't put you in a food coma on the way back to work. Along with a can of soda it only set me back a little over ten bucks. I felt a tad healthier after getting back to the office. They also have gluten free items, and many choices to go vegan if that is your thing. Nanoosh also carries a small selection of organic and non-organic wines, along with a nice little selection of beers that include Peak Organic Nut Brown Ale, Blue Moon, and Mythos. Not a bad alternative choice for a meal and will definitely keep this on my workday lunch radar. Is their hummus anywhere near as tasty and authentic as other Mediterranean restaurant offerings? Nah, but it's good enough in a pinch. Nanoosh! Nanoosh! Nanoosh! I just can't help but smile saying the name of this place.

Fast, fresh, healthy, and good. Falafel wrap with roasted pepper hummus is the go-to. Perfect weekday lunch.

I really really hate to give a poor review. Maybe I just had a bad day, being there my first time. I asked for help deciphering the menu, which was a bit confusing, so I don't know how I ended up spending $23 for a "casual" Israeli fast food for one person. It is too much! If I had enjoyed it, maybe I wouldn't have minded, but I prefer Sabra hummus. Their's tasted homemade, but I make better myself. I would have rather had a falafel from a food truck, even in 20 degree weather. If you go, share one plate because I felt like I wanted to throw up trying to eat that much hummus myself. It really makes no sense to serve a huge portion like that to one person. It's certainly not healthy as hummus is very high in calories and fat. Add chopped meat, steak, or chicken on top of that to feel super unhealthy! The clean atmosphere drew me in, but I was disappointed. Also, I don't like so much plastic,....plastic dishes, cutlery, cups, serving wine $10 organic wine in a plastic cup? The cup was only half full, but I threw it out; it was so bitter and I threw out half of my plate of hummus. My carrot ginger soup was too salty. The fluffy pita was interesting. That was about it.

The food is good and healthy. You can order a salad, wrap, or bowl. Hummus is tasty but meat portions are very small. The staff is somewhat rude and not friendly at all. I don't think I will come back here for lunch as there are far better hummus options in the city. I also bit on a branch-like substance which made me lose my appetite.

Ugh-- a bad excuse for a fast food Mediterranean restaurant IMHO. I ordered a wrap, and all I could taste was the wrap.... where's the meat... where's the hummus? I don't know because they were certainly was overpowered by the taste of dry bread. If you're gonna get Mediterranean fast food, stick with Chickpea... or, better yet, wait until Roti Mediterranean grill opens on Maiden Lane near Wall Street some time this spring.

Can I have my $13 back? Seriously this must have been the most inedible meal Ive had in all my lunch adventures in Murray Hill. I came here for lunch recently and ordered the steak on hummus plate. The steak was watery. I don't know how that is possible but I had this plate of hummus and soupy steak in the middle. I was given pita bread with this meal. The pita was I would assume is the "bimbo bread" version of pita bread. You know the 99cent bread that supermarkets carry... Not authentic and mass produced. It was also cold and stale. I would think a place that calls themselves Mediterranean would bang out fresh hot pita, nope. My lemonade was ok and the service was fast and friendly. The restaurant is also nice and clean and modern. My stomache hurt right after semi eating this food too. boo.

Ordered online, no confirmation email but I went to pick it up anyway. Food was ready and friendly enough service. Heads up the falafel has tahini drizzled on it. Says that nowhere on the menu. Hate tahini and didn't realize until I had already left.

Light, fresh, healthy food. Great for vegans and vegetarians. If I lived in NYC I'd eat here at least once a week. I ordered the hummus with mushrooms/onions, the new baked falafel in its delicious green (cilantro?) sauce, and two different iced teas (sweetened mint, unsweetened pom raspberry). I also got to taste the taboulleh (classic and quinoa). The two taboullehs were shockingly good, and I don't usually like taboulleh and am otherwise getting tired of quinoa, but I think this is what I'll order next time I'm here. Also, the two hot sauces (set out on each table) were amazing. I especially loved the green sauce (parsley and jalapeños?). The portions were large-- probably could have lasted me at least 2 meals. I met with the owner, also an Israeli, who said that they're not an Israeli hummus place, just a light, healthy lunch spot. I totally see that-- I'm a hummus snob who has on occasion driven several hours out of my way to a little Arab village for the best hummus-- but I still loved the hummus at Nanoosh. The design and decor is modern, clean, and open. The bathroom was spotless. The line at lunchtime nearly went out the door. It's even conveniently located 3 blocks from Penn Station and where the BoltBus drops off. I'm definitely returning next time I'm in the city.

Nanoosh is literally across the street from my office and being that I am a fan of all things hummus I thought I would give it a try. I stepped inside during the lunch hour rush and as can be expected the place was absolutely packed. The place is decorated with dark brown, white, and lime green all around with plenty of tables and stools available for seating. I thought the colors were unique since I've never seen that combination of colors at any other eatery. While I waited on line I took a good look at the menu and decided to go for the Hummus Chicken Plate, which comes with a whole wheat pita. Once it was my turn to order the cashier gave me the choice of original or roasted red pepper hummus. Of course, I chose original since I'm not a huge fan of red pepper hummus. The order itself comes with hummus, chicken breast, onions, and tahini. My order was ready in less than 10 minutes and I picked up a couple of the complimentary sauces they offer. When I got back to the office I enjoyed my meal because it was healthy, as well as filling. It was a good meal, but I feel like I've had better hummus elsewhere, especially for the price. Would I go back there? I might. Would it be my go to hummus spot? Probably not.

OK, clearly this place has some fake reviews... Check out the 5 star review from "Volker S", who has 0 yelp friends and only 1 review to, guess where? Nanoosh. And same with the review from "K.S.", only 1 review, and it's a 5 star review of Nanoosh. Here is my advice... Instead of writing fake reviews, why don't you try improving your food? Or your service? This place is just awful. 0 stars.

So if you can't tell from the signage and everyone's dish around you...this place is most well known for its hummus. Alas...the hummus is not what I ordered. I had the Mediterranean salad with marinated chicken and Olive Oil Citrus dressing. Dare I say it.....it was awesome. Fresh, delicious, filling. And you feel healthy eating it. My only gripe...why does eating healthy have to be so expensive? I certainly recommend going to check this place out. I will be back again.

I have mixed emotions for this place. Their hummus is alright if you drizzle it with olive oil, but what the heck is up with their pita bread? Thick, cold and uninspired...Probably from a restaurant supplier. I don't feel the need to come back here. It's not worth the 11 or 12 bucks.
