I'm actually very surprised that this place has just a few reviews. Whenever we have the pleasure of coming here, its packed, so reservations might be useful for larger groups. Christmas eve we come here, and its quite the holiday treat. The food and atmosphere are fantastic and glamorous, for east Northport. My usual meal here goes like this: Appetizer: Pan fried mozzarella, so delightfully good, hard to believe its just some cheese, Clams Casino, excellent, we get this all the time. Entree: Anything with pasta and sauce is great, mascali makes its pasta in the specialty shop next door, so next time you want fresh pasta, and gourmet italian, you know where to go. Desert: ask to see the deserts and the waiter will bring you them on a tray to pick out, anything on this tray is going to make you fall in love with food again, or at least the first time. (Mascali makes desert ravioli, which has new flavors every month or so, try them!!!) Mascali is one of our favorite restaurants, we will be back to eat soon as the holidays are nearing!

My husband just picked up dinner from Mascali tonight. Although they got my order wrong, it was delicious. I received the seafood marinara. I ordered shrimp marinara. No big deal. What was a total rip off? I wanted spinach instead of pasta and got a 6.99$ surcharge for the switch. It was a palm full of spinach. Really? How cheap can you be? My husband should have refused, but didn't . We won't be returning any time soon.

Good red sauce place. Reasonably priced wines. Home made pastas are quite good. Competent waiter was helpful. They also mention prices of specials on the menu. Nice people including other customers as well.

I always have a great meal here, served by friendly staff in a homey atmosphere. The fried calamari is delicious, as is the pasta with garlic and oil. A great spot for a date night!

If you haven't tried Mascali recently or ever I highly recommend you do. You will not be disappointed. Haven't been here in a long time. Everything was perfect, from the service to the food. It is a small place inside but very quaint. We had Mussels In red sauce, Fettuccine Alfredo, Shrimp Scampi & Chicken Cacciatore (off the bone). Every dish was perfect. Nothing too salty or overly seasoned, etc. The Fettuccine is made with FRESH Pasta (the owner has a fresh Pasta & Italian Market next door, also amazing). The Shrimp Scampi was probably one of the best that I have ever had. If you are going to go out to eat you want the food & service to be good. Mascali is top notch in both, can't go wrong. Can't wait to go back & try other dishes. Keep up the great work.

This was a memorable find. We dined here because we had theatre reservations nearby. I found the listing on Yelp and saw the reviews which all were raves. The place is small & dark, so I wouldn't encourage families with kids. Tables are small & close too. But the food was fresh and our orders came out exactly as requested. The pasta, which is made there was a winner, as promised. ours was the whole wheat penne with a fresh tasting sauce. We plan to return and explore different menu options One quibble would be that the wine list (by the glass) was a snooze. The options were one step above the box wine variety. They should offer a few wines from some interesting vintners. I didn't check out the bottles since we weren't looking for that. .

Went to Mascali's at 6:30 on a Saturday night. Ordered, had drinks, but service was slooooowww. The place was full but after an hour no one at any table had food. We waited 2 hours for our entrees. Lots of patrons got up and left. Sometimes things happen and everything slows down. It's totally understandable. But that's where a manager steps in. Goes from table to table and apologizes, buys a round on the house or throws in a free dessert. Didn't happen here. It was a shame, but the wait staff took the heat. they kept walking around and making excuses, apologizing and telling patrons they weren't allowed in the kitchen anymore. Tips had to be small or nonexistent. My last time.

We went on Saturday night to try out Mascali for the first time. We recently moved to the area and drive by often. When we realized it was connected and owned by the same establishment as the pasta market we figured that would be as fresh as it gets. That being said we did not try any pasta as the other dishes were all too intriguing. My wife had the Swordfish and I had the Chicken Sorrentino. It was a toss up between that , the Chicken Gumundo and the lobster ravioli special dressed with snow crab claws :) . We also split the Insalata special with jumbo shrimp. For dessert the St.Josephs pastry was delectable. The meal and drinks were great, the service was very solid and the pricing was aggressive. After dinner we went next door to the market and met Jim the chef(owner). He was a pleasure to converse with and even gave us some pasta and bolognese sauce to take home for Sunday!

Last night (Friday) our family celebrated a five year old's birthday in grand style at Mascali's. Eating family style, we thoroughly enjoyed sharing five main courses, four appetizers and a couple of special add on's compliments of Jim. All of the dishes were excellent, with plenty to go around for the five of us. Of special note was the care and consideration given to the young one's dietary restrictions, such as no milk or cheese. The staff went out of their way to accommodate ensuring everyone got what they needed, including plenty of bread, olive oil and water. Sometimes these details are overlooked but not by the staff at Masacali's. We also enjoyed Mary's company, including her adding an extra table (enough now for 8) to facilitate all the great dishes, wine glasses etc. We will be back soon! Thank you Team Mascali!

Food is tasty but service is slooowwww. Expect to be there for 3 hours!! When we asked what was taking so long the waiter explained why but wasn't apologetic which is just poor service. This is our 2nd time going and I believe last!

Food was really good and it's definitely a cool spot, very nice ambiance and what not. Appetizer with eggplant and gorgonzola cheese was excellent, as was the chocolate mousse dessert. Entrees were very good (we had bolognese and one of the veal dishes), and Cheesecake was good but not great. The Gnocci with the bolognese was awesome though, I'm sure it was homemade since they own the pasta place next door or something. Lastly, their espresso is the real deal, it was strong but not overly bitter and they gave us a ton, it was great. I'll be back to try some more dishes for sure.

I utilized Mascali as a matter of helping a friend who had a family member in the hospital. It's always a benefit to have a fridge full of food to alleviate the pain of worrying about meals. Anyways, i called at roughly 12:00 in the afternoon and placed a substantial order. Not only were they incredibly friendly, but accommodating as well. For placing such a large order they indicated they would make sure it was prepared and delivered, Hot, by dinner time of the same day. That is truly incredible. I will not be able to vouch for the taste - unless they ship it to me in Texas, but I am posting this review on their character and friendliness.

Had Easter dinner here with my family. The food is always good, drinks strong, good wine selection--overall always an enjoyable time at Mascali.

It's been a year now since our first visit to Mascali. We have been consistent customers at least once per week either taking out fresh pasta or dining in. Have not had a bad meal yet. The specials are chef Jim's attractions to the menu I highly recommend trying them. We are treated like family by all the staff it's a great overall experience every time.

Never disappointed here. Had soft shell crab fried in panko. My husband had turkey with gravy, stuffing, and I believe cranberry goat cheese. The vegetables are always crisp tender. The wait staff is attentive and professional. They take that extra step with service to make you feel pampered. The chef comes out to check on you. This is our go to local restaurant. Highly recommend. (And awesome cosmos)

I eat here every Wednesday night. Great food !! Big selection. Reasonable prices.. Their Chicken Francese is sooo good $16.95 for 2-3 cutlets and a side of pasta or veggies ! The Mozzarella in Carozza is the best I've had. They put a bread basket on the table with garlic infused oil, mmmm sooo good!! Small childrens menu. The restaurant is cozy, with about a dozen tables and a few high tables to sit at by a decent size bar. They do "take out" and catering. The waiters and waitresses are very nice and the chef/owner is a nice guy, he comes out of the kitchen to meet the customers !

Just went here for the first time Thursday for my friend who just graduated. Family style restaurant , good Italian food and we had many courses , the food kept coming. I loved how they let you relax and didn't rush you out at all, we were there for over 4 hours

We eat here a couple of times a year. Food is very good and the ambience is fine. Last time we were here with my daughter and asked about gluten-free pastas. Waiter went back to the chef and reported they could make anything she wanted. Not only did they do that, but the chef came out later to check on my daughter's meal and he gave her three pounds of gluten-free spaghetti to take home.
