Disappointing. There is a nice fine line between completely ignoring your customers, and borderline harassing them. Thanksfully, we weren't ignored. But for the love of god, let us look at the menu for 30 seconds without trying to tell us something about the menu. I can read. The food was edible. Not worth $8 for a burger. I'd have been happier with a sausage sammich from a street vendor.

This is a great place to duck into in mid-town near Rockefeller center. Great breakfast sandwiches and convenient.

Scott's Food Cafe Deli is in my neighborhood and I can't wait to stop by almost every day. I love their variety of food and especially various kinds of SOUPS...I love this place which is right in the Rockefeller Center...and recommend everyone to try their food and especially their SOUP which you will enjoy very much!

Tasty and filling breakfast sandwich after a morning on the Rockefeller Plaza. One down, my daughter asked for water and they said she had to buy a bottle.

I don't know who has been posting but I have been dealing with this company for a long time and their food is awesome. The chef is 5* and always accommodates. The owners bend over backwards to accommodate your needs. They really customize a menu to your liking and budget. Super friendly and just a good go to place for everything from a basic omelet to a full on catering event. They have exceeded my expectations and remain the go to place for parties and events. I highly recommend.

I stopped in to get breakfast and was happy with what I got. I got a sausage, egg, and cheese. It was large, flavorful, and pretty cheap for the size ($4). Can't speak for the quality if the rest of the food but it seems like they have a large selection. The gentlemen working were very nice as well.

The food is good here, just sad how slow the food delivery is. If you do not mind waiting an hour and half to two hours for your delivery, then Scotts is your place. I have given Scotts plenty of chances, and is finally done with the slow delivery. Never again will I order from here. I suggest you chose other places.

My go to pick-up lunch place when working at 30 Rock. Much cheaper than most lunch places around here. Salads are good value and soups are tasty. Quick in and out.

I love how I love this dump. Yes it is dirty looking and divvy feeling, however here's what it also is. Breakfast: Makes made to order omelets Good breakfast burritos Awesome hot sauce Lunch: Great salad bar Good toppings good price Nice soups --cheap Cheap, Fast, good portions --in and out like your Friday night date, what more could you want? Oh yeah, Togo only ---the place is a dump!

Their donuts are surprisingly decent -- almost worth their $2 price tag -- provided you were buying them four days ago. When they might have been fresh. Donuts cost $1. That's why the saying is "I'll bet you dollars to donuts" -- it's an exchange rate. And if you're charging more than that -- and a couple highfalutin' NYC joints do -- you better have some seriously fancypants donuts. And somehow, utterly improbably, this dumb little lunch counter nearly pulls it off. Their donuts come in classic New York style, like you see at every coffee cart in Manhattan, except huge and frosted heavier than the tips of my spiked hair in 1997. In fact, they nail the frosting and sprinkles so hard that it very nearly redeems what are otherwise the stalest donuts that I -- a fixture at the day-old-donut discount rack at three different nearby supermarkets -- have encountered. They even beat out the slimewad with the coffee cart out front of the high school down the road from my apartment. And I'm no business consultant, but I'm pretty sure "beat out the slimewad" is a sentence you never want to see associated with your enterprise, ever.

This is a great, welcoming little diner just off 5th Avenue with lovely food. They just had a new cook. There were 4 delicious soups and we tried them all - split pea, salmon, chicken, cream of broccoli. I saw the buffet and it all looked really fresh. We have had breakfast there too - all the usual and very good. Thank you.

This place is a shit hole but it does have lotto tickets in the back. That makes it more authentically shitty.

A reliably inexpensive, quick midtown lunch spot. Their salads cost just $5.99 (+tax) inclusive of 7 items (1 meat). Although the same salad was $4.99 (+tax) less than two years ago with "unlimited toppings" (yes, unlimited - why did I ever go to other delis that charged $1 per item?), it's still a relatively good deal. I especially like it with the Asian Sesame Ginger dressing; it's light and slightly tangy, though it's best on the side, unless you like your salads "overwhelmed." Their chicken salad sandwiches are excellent too. At just $4 (though I think they recently raised prices), they are stacked high, with chunks of white meat chicken, lettuce and onions are complimentary and I find it tastes best with a little bit of honey mustard drizzled over it. It comes with a side of Utz potato chips and a pickle too.

As a former customer, I've had several hit or miss (mostly miss) experiences here for lunch. Pet peeves: 1. Burnt food - If there's one thing in the world I hate...it's a burnt cheeseburger. I've experienced this on more than one occasion, and it's usually because the guy that was tending the grill stepped to the side to help someone else (or walk away from the grill completely) and forgot all about my order. Not only that, but one time... they actually put mayonnaise on my burger (yes, mayonnaise) even though I clearly said "ketchup only" (with a confused look) when the person asked me if I wanted mayonnaise on my burger. What? Either you aren't familiar with typical American tastes or really you think people put mayonnaise on their burgers. Are you serious? 2. Ridiculous prices - I've experienced a few times where I was charged different amounts for the same items I ordered. I would say it's the fault of the cashier. One time I ordered chicken salad on a roll with a bottled water and I could've sworn I was charged $9-10 for it. Another time, the same items rang up for less ($7-8). It was a different cashier, but either the water was forgotten or the people really don't know prices. That is not to say the prices are great either (it is Midtown Manhattan, after all) but if you're going to charge close to $9 for something as simple as chicken salad...I might as well take my business elsewhere. 3. Crappy food - The hot food, like most reviewers mentioned, look like last week's leftovers. I WOULD NEVER order the hot food. I can't tell how many days it's been out, so for the sake of your own health, don't even think about touching that. You'll know exactly what I'm talking about if you ever step into this establishment and take a look yourself. Definitely not fresh. Which is why I tend to order cold sandwiches or food that must be grilled on the spot (ie. cheeseburgers, etc). If you ever order sandwiches, they go so cheap on the food and still charge you an arm & leg for it. It's a slap in the face. Pros: This place is usually empty, so it's easy to find seating here. Cons: See my entire review. You're better off going to one of the many delis/cafes down the same block. The prices aren't as good, but if you're going to be paying Midtown prices for lunch, you might as well get something of quality. There's a reason why Scott's Food is empty and it's because the place sucks!

The burger was excellent! We were wondering around looking for somewhere to eat after refusing to pay $36 per person at our hotel breakfast buffet. The place does look sketchy but the workers are very nice and we all loved the burger and fries we got for an amazing price! GO HERE!

lost two stars because delivery was 20 minutes late yesterday, and 40 minutes left today. Great salad though, and it is dirt-cheap. The female manager was very apologetic today when I asked where my food was. I think I will get them another shot!

Scam Artists. Was drawn in by outside breakfast sign that says wrap plus ANY three ingrediants $2.95. Well go in and get a ham, cheese and egg wrap which the chef puts at $3.45. I question the cashier who asks I presume is the manager and he fumbles then goes "only vegetables." I tell him I disagree but he won't budge. Any means any in my book, Not to mention, the wrap was pretty awful. There was something crunchy in the middle and I'm still repeating from the eggs some one hour later. No thanks.

Big hearty sandwiches and super fast delivery - even in the midst of a shitstorm of rain. Online menus and ordering are available for orders of all size - perfect for just one too, since their minimum delivery charge is only 7 dollars. Plus complementary cookies because I had never ordered from them before! Way to make a good impression, Scotty.

Terrible place, really. I had a coupon that offered a pre-made sandwich, chips, pickle and lemonade for $5.00. NICE, right? So I walked 8 blocks in freezing weather to check this place out during lunch. It's a recession after all, so I try to step out of my comfort zone to save money, you know. I picked out a $6.95 roast beef sandwich, got my chips, but they ran out of pickles and had no lemonade. They lady said sorry and rang up my total: $5.44. I asked if they could substitute an iced tea or juice or something(!) to make up for the lemonade the coupon promises. She said no. I asked if I might just get a bottled water since they ran out of pickles too. She said no. I can't believe I didn't just throw the sandwich in her cheaply made-up face and walk out. The sandwich was sub par at best. The bread was wet, the coldcut was too fatty (cold lard is not tasty) and the greens were limp. The bag of Utz chips were the only thing I really ate. This place has NO INTEGRITY, no redeeming qualities. Don't bother ordering from this place. If they will jip you on small individual orders, you can bet they'll get you with the big ones.

Have been to Scott's many times over the years for cheap sandwiches, but no more. Today I bought egg salad in a wrap. They charged me $7.57 at the counter. "For egg salad?" I said. I was told it was because it was in a wrap and all wraps are $6.95. How does that make sense? So I if I had gotten a wrap with ham, cheese, turkey, roast beef, bacon, etc, etc, it would cost the same as EGG SALAD? Forget it. Especially when the egg salad isn't even very good. They lost a customer today. They seem like they're trying to "spiffy up" but are doing it by raising prices instead of quality.

hot and kinda dirty inside, not the best food but i've eaten here a few times when i've been stuck without many other options for a cheap lunch (under $7 for sandwich, chips, soda & a pickle!) and it hasn't made me sick...yet. speaking of dirty, last time i took my sandwich to the back to eat it i saw one of the workers grab a bottle of Windex and a balled up piece of NEWSPAPER to wipe down the tables...call me a germ-a-phobe but that just seems SO unsanitary...eww.

Amazing New York style food. They have a wide variety to please any taste, food is made fresh in front of you and tastes great. The service was actually friendly, which is rare in NYC, and the price is a great value.

Strolled in for coffee and a pastry mid afternoon. Coffee was OK, but $3.50 for a small, stale and overly sweet brownie is not. Place looks super divey too.

The owners here very friendly and the food is amazing! My daughter loved the salmon chowder. And my 14 year old son tasted the gluten free fat free vegetarian soups and actually like them! right near Today Show!

Scott's Food Court is a "divey", lunchroom establishment, made for office workers. How do I know that this place is made for office workers? Because, every 10 minutes, you hear "Seamlessweb order" ringing from their computer speakers. That being said, you would know why this place is a dive, when you arrive. The air conditioning is nearly non-existent, the dining room is grungy and the cleanliness is questionable. However, for the Cheap Guy, it's alright, because this place is an oasis for a $6 to $8 lunch in a very expensive part of New York City, which is why it has earned its third star from me. What's there to eat? The easiest way to order here is to go to the middle counter and order a lunch special, all in big colorful pictures, right above the counter. They'll cook to order. The best thing about the pictures is that it'll indicate whether your order will come with a free bag of chips and soda. Other notable things here is the cheap $2.50 to $3.50 soups and a small hot salad bar. There is a small dessert counter with frozen yogurt up front. One final plus to this place for those of you who love the New York lottery is that there are three big Lottery ticket vending machines, including one that has quick draw in the back dining area - a great way to while away your lunch hour while eating.

Per the previous review, this is a relatively inexpensive place for midtown. They do have a burger bar and their panini's aren't bad. I also recommend the chicken Parmesan sandwich. It is definitely not the nicest deli you will find (if you are looking for ambiance, go elsewhere), but it is inexpensive and decent. They would do better if they didn't cut corners, eg, serving the burger with fries that have been sitting out in a warming tray.

Dumpity Dump Dump... I have been working in mid town for a long time, and this place is close - I have seen them change over the years - and each year I try to give them another shot. Well, needless to say - I HAVE always kicked myself for going because the food is always gross and old and the service is despicable.

What is this place and why is it still in business? I placed an order for delivery from Scott's and, needless to say, I will not be doing THAT again. I ordered a turkey burger with provolone and BBQ sauce, rice pudding and 2 bottled sodas. It took over an hour for them to get this to me, and by the looks of it, it wasn't because they were making sure the presentation was just so. It arrived finally, after 2 phone calls and one very rude person interrupting me to put me on hold for another 5 minutes. Really bad customer service on top of it? Please. So, I get the delivery and it's in a brown paper bag. The burger is wrapped in foil which made it a mess when I opened it with sauce spilling out all over my hands. It was placed in the brown paper bag with everything else and was up against the bottles of soda. That served to 1) crush it and 2) cool it down. Thank you. The rice pudding tasted bland with weird raisins on top that also had no flavor, strangely enough. it helped though, because I'm on a diet and so not eating it saved me even more calories. The bottled sodas were also room temperature. Who actually sends out tepid drinks to serve with someone's lunch? They do, apparently. I will obviously never order from here again and I highly suggest no one else does either.
